SKID ROW - Next "Mini Album" Due In May
 While in France recently, SKID ROW bassist Rachel Bolan was interviewed by RockNLive.org. During their chat, Rachel revealed that his band is hoping to issue the follow-up to United World Rebellion Chapter One in May 2014.
He further elaborated, "We've already started demoing new songs. We want to get a bunch together and pick the five best. We're going to do the same format with two other covers; songs about rebellion." Watch the interview in its entirety below:

Denmark's BATTERY Stream Full Live Show Online
 Danish thrash metal band BATTERY have posted a live video of the band's show on November 1st in Aarhus, Belgium, supporting HELL'S DOMAIN.
Battery are currently working on Armed With Rage, their first full-length album that is planned to be released in the in the early months of 2014 by Punishment 18 Records.

BRAIN DEAD Confirm Release Date For Menace From The Sickness Album
 Italian old-school thrashers BRAIN DEAD will release their new studio album, Menace From The Sickness, on December 2nd via Punishment 18 Records.
The CD was recorded at Carlo Girardi's One Black Sock studio and includes a guest appearance from drummer Andy Verga of Italian speed metallers BROKENGLAZZ, on a cover of that band's track 'Total Despair'.
The cover artwork was created by Marco Hasmann (BEYOND CREATION, FLESHGOD APOCALYPSE), who worked on the previous Brain Dead full-length.

METALLICA's ORION MUSIC + MORE Festival To Take Next Year Off
 According to The Detroit News, METALLICA will not reprise its two-day Orion Music + More festival in Detroit, Michigan next year. A spokeswoman for promoter C3 Presents confirmed that the festival will take a year off, as METALLICA is touring Europe in June, the time period the festival was held the last two years. The event may return in 2015, C3's spokeswoman said, although it is unclear whether it will return to Detroit.
Last June's Orion event at Belle Isle in Detroit drew at least 40,000 people over the course of two days to see METALLICA, RED HOT CHILI PEPPERS, DEFTONES, SILVERSUN PICKUPS, RISE AGAINST and more.
The band moved the event to Detroit after holding the inaugural edition in Atlantic City, New Jersey in 2012.
METALLICA was previously said to be contracted to host the band's Orion Music + More festival for two more years in Detroit, according to MLive.com. Drummer Lars Ulrich said earlier this year in a radio interview, "Detroit was a great experience. We'd love to bring this thing back to Detroit. We've gotta sit down and look at the practical parts of it… It's not an easy thing to launch a festival, but we've had a lot of fun the last two years doing it, and we hope to bring it back to Detroit."
Frontman James Hetfield told The Pulse Of Radio that it difficult to predict if Orion could be an ongoing annual event. "You never know with adventures like this," he said. "But we also know, and history tells us, that you're not gonna break even for a few years. So that's the goal. Our goal is to make a cool event, get some cutting edge bands in front of a lot of people and break even with it. That would be great."
METALLICA surprised fans at Orion Music + More on June 8 by playing its 1983 debut disc "Kill 'Em All" from beginning to end on a smaller stage at the event. METALLICA was officially announced to play a headlining set on June 9 to close out the festival, but hit the stage at 4:30 p.m. one day earlier for a 10-song set that started with "Hit The Lights" and finished out with "Metal Militia".
The afternoon slot was officially taken by an "act" called DEHAAN — which METALLICA fans may have recognized as the name of actor Dane DeHaan, who is starring in the band's 3D movie, "Metallica Through The Never". Another hint was dropped when Hetfield posted a message on Instagram which read, "Don't miss Dehaan! #MUYA #mff #UwillRegretMissingThem #IfUdoUmightKillEmAll #winkWink #getIt?"
Hetfield came onstage first to introduce "DEHAAN," after which the rest of the members of METALLICA came out and began playing.
At last year's Orion festival, METALLICA played both 1991's self-titled "black album" and 1984's "Ride The Lightning" in their entirety on separate nights.

EUROPE Guitarist JOHN NORUM To Release Instructional DVD
 Guitarist John Norum of Swedish hard rockers EUROPE will release his very first instructional DVD in the months to come. It will be sold exclusively through Norum's official web site.
In a 2010 interview, Norum stated about how he came to be such a well-respected musician: "I think you're born to do it. I've always believed that. You can't force it. Technically, you can be great and learn every scale in the book. Some people can play all night, but still not have heart and soul in their playing."
He continued: "It might sound a little bit harsh for me to say this, but it runs so far back in my family. My mom was playing guitar, my uncles all play, all my cousins are in bands — it goes way back. I think I just have it in my genes. It's just something that happens when I play. I start sweating like crazy and I can feel every note through my body. It's just a feel thing. Some people put on funny faces for posing or whatever but when I do it, I can't help it, it just happens by itself… When I go into a solo, I'm gone, away in a different dimension, a different place. It's a wonderful feeling. I'm not thinking that I have to move more, or pose more. [laughs] I leave that to the singer. The most important thing to me is to focus on the guitar playing.
"I'm not Angus Young — sometimes I'm stuck in one place — but I enjoy it more than the posing. I'm a goner when I go into lead break. [laughs]"
EUROPE's 30th-anniversary performance at this year's edition of the Sweden Rock Festival in Sölvesborg, Sweden was the band's only Swedish concert of 2013 and the stage show was one of the greatest, if not the greatest of the band's entire career. The setlist was specially composed from EUROPE's entire nine-album discography, including their cult debut "Europe" (1983), multi-million-seller "The Final Countdown" (1986) and their most recent outing, "Bag Of Bones" (2012), which has now reached gold status in Sweden. The performance was also professionally filmed and recorded for release on double CD, DVD and Blu-ray, and was made available on October 16 in Scandinavia via Gain, in the rest of Europe through Edel, and in Japan via JVC.

KORN: Official GUITAR CENTER Video Recap Of RockWalk Induction
 As part of the events surrounding the release of the band's 11th studio album, "The Paradigm Shift", KORN was inducted into the Guitar Center RockWalk in Hollywood, California on October 8, the same day the new CD arrived in stores. KORN was inducted by Rob Zombie, who said, "About 20 years ago I remember flipping on MTV and seeing this band called KORN. 20 years later they're still constantly reinventing themselves, reinventing the wheel . . . There's not a lot of spectacular bands who have survived the past twenty years. KORN is definitely one of them." The official Guitar Center video recap of the ceremony can be seen below.
The Pulse Of Radio asked guitarist Brian "Head" Welch, who rejoined KORN earlier in 2013 after an eight-year absence, what made this band work so well. "I believe in destiny and I believe in, like, things that are meant to be before they even happen, so I think that's a big part of it," he said. "But more than that even, it's just like, we just grew up together and we had a passion for music and when you grow up with someone, you know, you just, you know 'em like the back of your hand, you know. And it just helped with KORN."
Welch said at the induction ceremony, "We're just so thankful. This is just surreal. To grow up with your friends and be able to do this . . . it's more than a dream come true."
Guitarist James "Munky" Shaffer said, "It's an honor to be in the category with so many great musicians and people who work hard in this industry."
Singer Jonathan Davis added, "When you look at the names of the other people inducted here all you can say is 'wow!' What an honor!"

Video: IRON MAIDEN's BRUCE DICKINSON Quizzed About Eclipse 550 Twin-Engine Business Jet
 Corporate Jet Investor recently quizzed IRON MAIDEN singer Bruce Dickinson — who in October joined Aeris Aviation, the European distributor of Eclipse aircraft, as non-executive chairman — on how much he knew about the Eclipse 550 twin-engine business jet. After testing Dickinson's mettle, Corporate Jet Investor turned the tables and asked European head of distribution, David Hayman of Aeris Aviation, based in the U.K., three questions on IRON MAIDEN before he had chance to run to the hills. Watch the video below to see how much he knew about the band.
In September, Dickinson, who is also an entrepreneur and commercial pilot, underwent his type rating training in an Eclipse by piloting himself to the IRON MAIDEN tour venues in the USA, clocking up over 50 hours. He met in St. Louis, Missouri with Eclipse CEO, Mason Holland, president global services, Ken Ross and David Hayman.
Dickinson was impressed by the world's most eco-friendly and economical twin engine business jet. He said, "Now that the jet is back in production, the market for it to reach its full potential is enormous.
"There are no other twin engine jets that can come close to the Eclipse in terms of cost and economy and, with a range in excess of 1000nm, it is ideal for Europe. It is great to fly and I am excited by the future for this remarkable aircraft."
Dickinson is the chairman of a large service and maintenance facility; Cardiff Aviation in St. Athan, Wales, United Kingdom. Cardiff Aviation and Eclipse have begun discussions on ways for both organizations to work closer in the future, bringing service, training and adding additional value to the Eclipse 550 in Europe and beyond.
Eclipse launched the new 550 at NBAA in Las Vegas on October 22. The 550 is the new production model jet featuring highly advanced features such as 3D synthetic and infra-red enhanced vision avionics, auto-throttles and anti-skid brakes; features rarely seen on jets under $10m. KAMELOT: Official Footage From Stockholm Concert
 Behind-the-scenes and performance footage from KAMELOT's November 8 concert in Stockholm, Sweden during the band's recently completed European tour can be seen below.
KAMELOT keyboardist Oliver Palotai sat out the band's North American tour so he could stay home with longtime girlfriend Simone Simons, (EPICA singer) as they awaited the birth of their first child. Filling in for him was Coen Janssen of EPICA.
KAMELOT's latest album, "Silverthorn", sold 5,400 copies in the United States in its first week of release to land at position No. 79 on The Billboard 200 chart. The band's previous CD, "Poetry For The Poisoned", opened with around 6,100 units in September 2010 to enter the chart at No. 74.
"Silverthorn" was released on October 30, 2012 in North America, October 26, 2012 in Germany and October 29, 2012 in the rest of Europe via Steamhammer/SPV. The CD marks the band's first release with Tommy Karevik, the Swedish vocalist who previously fronted SEVENTH WONDER (a group that he is still a member of).
In a 2012 interview with Loudwire, KAMELOT guitarist Thomas Youngblood stated about what Karevik brings to the band: "I think when we knew we had to bring in a new person on vocals, we wanted the opportunity to grow the band, not just to maintain the band or survive. We wanted to look at this as an opportunity to make the band bigger, [and] I think with Tommy we can do that. Not only is he an exceptional singer, he's a great songwriter and he's way ahead of what I thought he would be in terms of being a frontman. People who come out to shows will see that this guy is a force to be reckoned with. I can't imagine a better choice, honestly. KING'S X's DOUG PINNICK To Undergo Tests For Lymph-Node Problem
 KING'S X frontman Doug "Dug" Pinnick had to be rushed to the hospital on November 23 after the band's show in North Carolina and may require further surgery and recovery from his hernia. As a result, the group was unable to play the concert on November 24 in Springfield, Virginia.
In a new posting on his Facebook page, Pinnick writes: "[The doctor] says I have to go to an infection specialist to address a lymph node problem. There will be a series of tests over several weeks. He suggests that if I sing and play bass that I sit down while doing it. So I'm heading back to L.A. to take care of it. And to get on with my life."
Pinnick previously said that the pain he felt during the Charlotte concert "was so bad I went into shock so they rushed me to the ER. We barely finished the show, but it was an awesome crowd and we had fun."
He added that "the doctor said it could be life-threatening if I don't get this taken care of."
Pinnick underwent hernia surgery on July 3 after avoidning it due to the fact that he didn't have health insurance. He had toured, recorded and rehearsed regardless of his painful condition.
A GiveForward campaign to help raise funds for Pinnick's surgery was launched this past spring and it raised more than $26,000 from 599 donations.
Pinnick released his new solo album, "Naked", on May 7 via RockArmy Records. The CD is described in a press release as "deeply personal and overflowing with [Pinnick's] unmistakable tone, groove, and heart-wrenching vocals. PEARL JAM's Jeff Ament said that 'heavy music didn't start in Seattle, it started in Katy, Texas with KING'S X' and 'Naked' is proof that Pinnick remains at the top of his game." | 0 | |

BLACK LABEL SOCIETY Parts Ways With Longtime Guitarist NICK CATANESE
 BLACK LABEL SOCIETY has amicably parted ways with longtime guitarist Nick Catanese.
The remaining members of band, who "wish [Nick] the very best in his future musical endeavors," added in a statement that a replacement axeman will be announced soon.
Zakk Wylde and the rest of BLACK LABEL SOCIETY are holed up in Wylde's personal recording studio working on their much-anticipated new album for a tentative April 2014 release via eOne Music. Wylde joked in a recent interview that the forthcoming CD will be "all completely the same as the last nine records, except just different songtitles."
BLACK LABEL SOCIETY's new live DVD, Blu-ray, and Digital Video, "Unblackened", was released on September 24 by Eagle Rock Entertainment. Wylde's label home, eOne Music, also released the audio version of the "Unblackened" DVD under the same name. The double disc release has six additional tracks not found on the DVD, including two acoustic versions of "Queen Of Sorrow" and "Won't Find It Here", and covers of LEON RUSSELL's "Song For You" and BILL WITHERS' "Ain't No Sunshine When She's Gone".
BLACK LABEL SOCIETY's "The Song Remains Not The Same" sold around 12,000 copies in the United States in its first week of release to land at position No. 41 on The Billboard 200 chart. Released on May 10, 2011 via Entertainment One Music, the offering featured unplugged versions of material from BLACK LABEL SOCIETY's latest album, "Order Of The Black", as well as additional material recorded during the "Order Of The Black" sessions. "The Song Remains Not The Same" was conceived, created and compiled by Wylde himself and the title is, of course, a nod to one of Wylde's favorite bands, LED ZEPPELIN. "Order Of The Black" was released in North America in August 2010 via E1 Music. The CD featured four unique covers designed by Zakk Wylde himself — one for each territory: North America, Europe, Asia and Australia/New Zealand.

LACUNA COIL Singer CRISTINA SCABBIA's 'I'm No Saint' Ring: New Photo
 Seventh Circle Artworks last month announced a new piece for 2013, exclusively designed by Cristina Scabbia, the voice of LACUNA COIL.
Seventh Circle Artworks has been fortunate enough to work with some great musicians in the past and feels very fortunate to have collaborated with Cristina on this rather devilish piece.
In 2012, Seventh Circle Artworks designer Alex Palmer met with LACUNA COIL at the band's London show to do a photo shoot with Cristina. They got talking and the idea for her to design a piece became a reality. They have been working together over the last 12 months on a few designs, but as is always the way, the first idea was the best.
The "I'm No Saint" ring was born.
The sterling silver ring, designed by Cristina, will only be available in the official shop from December 2.

Italy's EVENOIRE Begins Recording Sophomore Album
 Italian female-fronted symphonic metallers EVENOIRE have entered Dreamsound Studios in Munich, Germany, to record the follow-up to their critically acclaimed debut album, "Vitriol". Mario Lochert, Dejan Djukovic and Daniel Rehbein (EMERGENCY GATE, GRAVEWORM, VISIONS OF ATLANTIS) will sit behind the consolle while mixing and mastering duties will be handled by Jan Vacik (SERENITY, VISIONS OF ATLANTIS, GRAVEWORM, DREAMSCAPE). PRIMAL FEAR: 'When Death Comes Knocking' Video Released
 Frontiers Records will release "Delivering The Black", the tenth studio album from German power metallers PRIMAL FEAR, on January 24 in Europe and January 28 in North America.
After some very intense songwriting sessions and pre-production schedule, the band started to record the new CD in summer 2013 at the House Of Music studios in Germany, with bassist/producer Mat Sinner and engineer Achim Köhler (EDGUY, MASTERPLAN). The band then moved to Denmark in September to finish the album, with acclaimed producer/engineer Jacob Hansen (VOLBEAT, PRETTY MAIDS, AMARANTHE) handling the mix at his Hansen studio in Ribe.
"Delivering The Black" combines the strongest PRIMAL FEAR moments ever, with a well-balanced typical PRIMAL FEAR trademark riff vibe, crushing songs and some very ambitious musical journeys. The centerpiece of the album are two epic tracks, "When Death Comes Knocking" and the 10-minute opus "One Night In December", spiced with big orchestral arrangements and complex sound designs.
Classic and ultra-fresh PRIMAL FEAR riff-rockers like the title track, the album opener "King For A Day" or the groove monsters "Alive And On Fire" and "Road To Asylum" hit the bulls-eye just like the untamed speed killer "Rebel Faction". The outstanding ballad "Born With A Broken Heart" shows a new side of PRIMAL FEAR with an acoustic guitar vibe and the addition of Liv Kristine (LEAVES' EYES) on backing vocals.
Says PRIMAL FEAR singer Ralf Scheepers: "We worked hard to create our best album ever. I already felt the vibe during the pre-production that we were working on something very special this time. And now the result is just an amazing metal album I'm extremely proud of!" Sinner adds: "The songs, the production, the sound — this album is a very special one for me and my career. In my view, everybody in the band just did a killer job and Jacob was fantastic choice to mix the album!"
The arrival of "Delivering The Black" is preceded by the release of the digital-only single/video "When Death Comes Knocking" on December 2 — a song which sets the pace for the outstanding quality of production and songwriting displayed on the full album.

PRIMAL FEAR's "Eagles And Lions Tour 2014" will kick off in Germany on January 24 and will include stops in 10 European countries. Support on the trek will come from Swedish hard rockers BULLET.
PRIMAL FEAR will return to North America in the spring with a headlining run that is scheduled to launch April 29 in Baltimore, Maryland and wrap on May 24 in Rochester, New York.
Frontiers and PRIMAL FEAR in January announced that they have renewed their partnership for another multi-album deal, which will include two more studio releases and one live CD and DVD. PRIMAL FEAR's latest album, "Unbreakable", landed at position No. 44 on the Top New Artist Albums (Heatseekers) chart, which lists the best-selling albums by new and developing artists, defined as those who have never appeared in the Top 100 of The Billboard 200.

LITA FORD And CHERIE CURRIE Reunite For Holiday Song: 'Rock This Christmas Down' Premiere
 Lita Ford has partnered up with her former RUNAWAYS bandmate Cherie Currie to record a special holiday song. "Rock This Christmas Down" marks the first time Lita and Cherie have recorded new music together since 1977. An exclusive premiere of "Rock This Christmas Down", as well as an interview with the Lita and Cherie, can be found at USAToday.com. The single will be released on iTunes tomorrow, December 3. Tired of the same old Christmas songs, Lita was ready for something new. "I thought the world could use a new Christmas song," she said.
"The song was written by Mitch Perry, my guitarist and Michael Dan Ehmig, my lyricist, along with Marty O'Brien on bass, and Rodger Carter on drums. We so rocked it! "What I didn't know is that I'd be singing it as a duet with my long-lost sister, Cherie Currie.
"I am blessed to have her back in my life, and what an appropriate time and song to rehash an old friendship. Christmas!!! "Cherie hopped a plane from Chicago to L.A., and drove straight to the studio and threw down her vocal track on this rocking song! Needless to say, it was magic and history in the making. TRANSATLANTIC: 'Shine' Video Released
 Progressive-rock supergroup TRANSATLANTIC, featuring Mike Portnoy, Neal Morse, Roine Stolt and Pete Trewavas, will release its fourth studio album, "Kaleidoscope", on January 27, 2014 via InsideOut Music.
The official video for the song "Shine" can be seen below. The clip was filmed in September in London, England.
"Kaleidoscope" will be released on four different formats, including a limited-edition deluxe artbook with 2CDs, DVD and bonus 5.1 mix DVD-video in an LP-sized book with loads of pictures, liner notes and a lenticular card cover. There will also be 2CD and DVD mediabook, standard 2CD jewelcase and a 3LP and 2CD in slipcase. Pre-orders for the album will begin on the InsideOut shop on December 27.

KAYSER: 'Read Your Enemy' Cover Artwork Unveiled, Titlte Track Available For Streaming
 KAYSER, the Swedish band featuring former SPIRITUAL BEGGARS frontman Spice and ex-THE MUSHROOM RIVER BAND drummer Bob Ruben, will release its new album, "Read Your Enemy", in early 2014 via Listenable Records.
Says band: "Incorporating the fundementals of rock and metal with vivid musicianship, KAYSER bring you 'Read Your Enemy'.
"With a track listing of songs that have always been there but you would not find anywhere else, the album boasts organic stamina and confidence. With superior riffing and catchiness a mass appeal is to expect.
"The neck-breaker title track, 'Read Your Enemy', originated from Swaney [guitar] as a double-stomp, classic palm muted heavy riffer. KAYSER is working with Sinemax Productions on a video for an as-yet-undisclosed track.
KAYSER saw the first ray of light in early June 2004 when Spice, Mattias Svensson (also of THE DEFACED), Bob Ruben and Fredrik Finnander decided to join forces to create a pure metal band. The band's sound is fully immersed in true original heavy/thrash metal genre with emphasis on the muscular songwriting: hammering blistering and catchy riffs one after another, delivering the goods through scorching witty arrangements with fluid virtuosity. According to The Pulse Of Radio, BLACK SABBATH guitarist Tony Iommi is not sure if making a follow-up to this year's reunion album, "13", would be a good idea for the group. Iommi said in Revolver magazine, "I don't know if that would be an anticlimax if we wrote another album. I'd like to, but we haven't actually spoken about it, you know? I don't know if that would be a good idea after this one, because this one's done so well. I'm sure we'd all like to do one. But I don't know. Maybe I should talk to the others about it." Bassist Geezer Butler added, "I really haven't thought about it. I'm just glad that we made this one. It can't be something where you go in and go, 'Well, that one was No. 1, so let's do another No. 1 album.' I think we'll know if we can do it or if we can't. If we have to force it, then we won't be doing it."
"13", the first SABBATH album in 35 years to feature Iommi, Butler and singer Ozzy Osbourne recording together, went No. 1 around the world, earning the band their first chart-topper ever in the U.S.
Ozzy said about the prospects of making another record, "I don't want to say there's going to be another album, because I don't want you to ask me in another year, 'What happened when you said you were going to do another record?' I'll leave it open. I'm open for anything. I have three albums to deliver of my own solo thing to my record label."
Ozzy added, "We'll all still be doing music. It's been a lot of fun doing it with BLACK SABBATH, and I'm not sorry at all for getting back together."
The making of "13" was marked by several dramatic events, including drummer Bill Ward's withdrawal from the project over a contractual dispute and Iommi's cancer diagnosis.
Butler told Revolver that he started writing a song for "13", called "Hanging By A Thread", that was inspired by Iommi's illness. He explained, "It was very much about dying, about giving your last breath and passing your spirit on." But the track didn't make it onto the album because, Butler said, "We never came up with the finished thing."
BLACK SABBATH will return to North America in 2014 for 10 shows that will be among the last in support of "13".
