DOCTOR LIVINGSTONE Sign With Osmose Productions; New Album Due In January
 Osmose Productions has announced the signing of France's DOCTOR LIVINGSTONE, featuring former members of ARKHON INFAUSTUS, MUTIILATION, and ZOLDIER NOIZ. The band's new album, Contemptus Saeculi, will be released on January 31st.

INDIAN To Release 'From All Purity' In January
 Chicago's favorite blackened doom nihilists INDIAN will release their long-awaited fifth full-length album, "From All Purity", via Relapse Records on CD/LP/digital in North America on January 21, 2014, Germany/Benelux/Finland on January 17, and in the rest of the world on January 20. The effort was recorded at Electrical Audio and Soma Studios in Chicago with engineer/co-producer Sanford Parker (MINSK, NACHTMYSTIUM, YOB, SAMOTHRACE).

Forged in 2003, INDIAN's debut EP, "God Slave", was a self-released mission statement, welcoming the band into the world like young, kicking, screaming giants. INDIAN's first three full-lengths — "The Unquiet Sky", "Slights And Abuse" and "The Sycophant" — were all issued through Portland, Oregon-based metal imprint Seventh Rule Recordings. Each of these releases found the band gaining momentum and attracting followers, as well as performing shows with scene heavyweights such as WOLVES IN THE THRONE ROOM, LOCRIAN, and AGALLOCH. After signing to Relapse Records in 2010, INDIAN began to diligently craft its fourth full-length, knowing all eyes were on them. Not only did the band live up to fans' lofty expectations, they also achieved a massive critical breakthrough. "Guiltless" was released in 2011 to rave reviews. The Chicagoist described the album as, "a musical journey into the mouth of teeth-rattling metal madness," while Metal Hammer simply called it, "pretty much an essential album." Fans were also impressed, gathering to soak up the band's feverish rays of doom on tour across the country. INDIAN performed shows with HIGH ON FIRE, BATILLUS, and YOB, translating their recorded sounds into a murky, devilish live spectacle. Poland's ASS TO MOUTH Signs With Selfmadegod Records; New Album Coming Early 2014
 Wroclaw, Poland-based grindcore act ASS TO MOUTH has signed a deal with Selfmadegod Records, the label now confirmed to release their second full length in February 2014. With the band's current lineup consisting of vocalist Kuba, bassist/vocalist Jarek, guitarist Maciek and drummer Pablo, Degenerate was recorded, mixed and mastered at Hellsound/Soundscope Studio in Wroclaw, the twenty-track album containing a bruising half-hour of grindcore ferocity with a jagged, punk-fueled approach.
Founded December 2004, during the first three years of activity Ass To Mouth played more than fifty shows in Poland and abroad, including tours with AHUMADO GRANUJO, EPITOME, PARRICIDE, SQUASH BOWELS, JIG-AI and NEUROPATHIA. November 2006 saw the foursome self-releasing their first MCD Asses For The Masses. In mid-2007, vocalist Sandro was replaced by Jankes, and the band recorded five songs for 7" split EP with Jig-Ai (eventually released as a 10" in 2011). ATM toured heavily with the new lineup, including an extensive European tour in support of their first full-length LP, Kiss Ass-- released on Lifestage Productions in 2008 - a Ukrainian tour along with EPICRISE, appearances at European festivals such as Obscene Extreme, SWR Metalfest, Arsch Cholio, Death By Thousand Cuts, and numerous shows in Europe. At the beginning of 2009 Jankes left and the band existed as a trio until April of 2010 when Kuba (ex-SELFHATE, ex-TOXIC BONKERS) joined and took over vocal duties, and the band started to work on their second full length LP, now ready to invade the world as Degenerate.

Scotland's AFTERLIFE To Release Debut Album In December
 Scottish hard rockers AFTERLIFE will release their debut album, Omega, digitally and in physical CD format on December 2nd via Off Yer Rocka Recordings. The album will be preceded by the first single, 'Energy', which is live and on sale Monday (November 25th) complete with a brand new video.
Formed in early 2011 the band came together during down time from other projects and the drive to stay musically creative. It wasn’t long before Afterlife became the primary focus for all of the members. In July 2012, Afterlife independently released their debut EP, Alpha. The band have since performed live supporting Swedish rockers BONADE, NASHVILLE PUSSY, TERRORVISION and THIN LIZZY.
Omega was recorded during the summer of 2013 at a secluded studio overlooking Loch Fyne in Scotland and features 11 all new tracks .

SVARTTJERN Reveal New Album Artwork, Tracklisting; Teaser Video Streaming
 Norwegian black metallers SVARTTJERN will release their new album, Ultimatum Necrophilia, on February 7th via NoiseArt Records.
The band describe the albm as follows: "It's eleven tracks full of black metal. The sound is a logical follow up to the last two records. For Svarttjern simply fits a modern but though brutal and martial sound, just like we achieved it on Ultimatum Necrophilia. Creative wise we have taken a darker and more psychedelic path this time. We took use of more destroying riffs along with the great growls of HansFyrste.“

Texas' CRUXITER Release Self-Titled Debut
 Texas traditional metallers CRUXITER have released their self-titled debut album via PrismaticO Records
Cruxiter has been catching the attention of many fans of the old and true. Although their style of metal is nothing new; it's definitely something not heard of in a long time. Their songs are filled with soaring vocals, explosive leads and harmonies, and extremely catchy verses and rhythm sections.
Their energetic perfomances has won over many new listeners, thus creating a solid fanbase in major Texas cities. PLACE VENDOME - 'Talk to Me' Lyric Video Streaming
 PLACE VENDOME, the melodic rock project featuring UNISONIC and former HELLOWEEN singer Michael Kiske on all lead vocals and production from Dennis Ward (PINK CREAM 69), have released a lyric video for their track 'Talk To Me', featured on the band's third album, Thunder In The Distance, out via Frontiers Records.

The official Michael Kiske fanclub recently conducted an interview with all composers of Place Vendome. In Part 2 we hear from Timo Tolkki, Roberto Tiranti and Andrea Cantarelli. An excerpt follows:
Q: Which songs did you write for the new Place Vendome album? What can you tell us about the songs and did you hear the final result? What is your opinion about YOUR songs?
Timo: "I remember writing it ('Lost In Paradise') very quickly because I was asked to do it in the middle of mixing my AVALON record. I wrote the song including the lyrics in just a few hours and made a quick demo. I haven’t heard the final song but I’m sure it sounds good. I think ironically that the best songs I have ever written are those that come very fast."
Andrea: "I wrote 'Maybe Tomorrow' with Roberto Tiranti (singer of my both bands, LABYRIINTH and A PERFECT DAY). I wrote the music and Roberto both melodies and lyrics. The song is a ballad, and it’s about old memories and how to cohabit with them... Unfortunately I have not yet heard the final result, I’m very agog with it. Well, I’m very proud of this song, it is very representative of who I am as musician and how I feel today."

SCORPIONS: 'In Trance' Performance Clip From 'MTV Unplugged'

Due in North America on January 21, 2014 via Sony International, material for "MTV Unplugged" is taken from the SCORPIONS' first-ever "MTV Unplugged" show and features new acoustic versions of best-loved classic hits, as well as five brand new songs. "MTV Unplugged" will be available in two formats — a standard CD and a deluxe version featuring CD + DVD. "MTV Unplugged" will be released in 50 countries, a testament to the German band's iconic status worldwide. Recorded and filmed just a few months ago on September 11 and September 12 of this year, "MTV Unplugged" was culled from two dynamic acoustic sets at the Lycabettus Theatre in Athens, Greece. The spectacular open-air theatre, situated 300 meters above the city, was an impressive backdrop for the first-ever open-air show in the history of "MTV Unplugged" (the theatre also shares a birth year with the SCORPIONS themselves, having been built in 1965, the same year the SCORPIONS formed). Of the choice to film/record "MTV Unplugged" at the Lycabettus Theatre, SCORPIONS' singer/guitarist Klaus Meine commented, "We have fabulous fans all over the world, but the Greeks are absolute die-hards fans."

Video: PHILIP H. ANSELMO & THE ILLEGALS Perform PANTERA, SUPERJOINT RITUAL Songs In New Orleans
 Multi-camera video footage of Philip Anselmo (DOWN, PANTERA) and his solo band THE ILLEGALS performing PANTERA's "Death Rattle" and SUPERJOINT RITUAL's "Fuck Your Enemy" on August 22 at Tipitina's in New Orleans can be seen below. The clip was filmed by Mike Holderbeast and the Cement Level Studios crew.
2014 will mark the 20th anniversary of PANTERA's seventh album, "Far Beyond Driven", and the band is planning to re-release a special edition for fans. According to The Pulse Of Radio, Anselmo chatted about the album with Artisan News saying, "Considering its contents, it is the heaviest record to come in at No. 1, and yes, there is a fucking goddamn re-release coming up. I don't know anything, really, about it other than, yes, it's gonna re-released with live footage from said show, but I can't name the show yet, because I think it's a fight between two different shows. And you never know. I'm trying to think of specialties or whatnot that will be included as well."
Anselmo went on to discuss the band's success saying, "The chemistry within PANTERA... In the early days, they were very guarded about what I said here and there. And then, finally, by 'Vulgar Display Of Power', it was, like, 'Just let me handle the lyrics.' And then by 'Far Beyond Driven', I was saying anything I fucking wanted to fucking really fucking sing about, man."
Anselmo's first-ever solo album, "Walk Through Exits Only", sold around 8,700 copies in the United States in its first week of release to debut at position No. 35 on The Billboard 200 chart.
Produced by Anselmo and Michael Thompson, and recorded over the past couple of years at Philip's New Orleans studio, Nodferatu's Lair, with his band THE ILLEGALS — guitarist Marzi Montazeri (ex-SUPERJOINT RITUAL) and José Manuel Gonzales — "Walk Through Exits Only" is abrasive, aggressive, anthemic and 100% Anselmo.

MOTÖRHEAD's LEMMY On His Health Issues: 'I'm Paying For The Good Times'
 In a brand new interview with The New York Times, MOTÖRHEAD's Lemmy Kilmister was asked how he is feeling after recently canceling a European tour due to his health issues.
"I just feel really down," Lemmy said. "I'll never get a job again. I'm paying for the good times, I suppose. It's a mixture of all the things I ever did — and I did plenty."
On the topic of whether he has had to stop drinking, Lemmy said, "I've already given up smoking. I drink wine and that's it."
Lemmy also spoke about whether he reconciled with his father, whom he once called a "nasty little weasel."
"No, he died nine years back," Lemmy said. "We didn't run through the cornfields to each other in slow motion."
Asked why he thinks a lot of heavy-metal giants have had very problematic relationships with their fathers, Lemmy said, "You could say that about anyone, really, couldn't you? With heavy metal, I suppose it's because of the look. Parents don't like you looking like this and going out and disgracing the family."

RIOT To Carry On As RIOT V; New Singer Announced
 RIOT's classic "Thundersteel" and "Privilege Of Power" lineup reunited in 2009 and delivered a critically acclaimed album, "Immortal Soul", via major metal heavyweights SPV/ Steamhammer and Avalon/ Marquee. A successful tour with performances on the prestigious 70000 Tons Of Metal cruise and appearances at Sweden Rock and Metalway festivals solidified RIOT's long-sought-after return a success, but success doesn't come without tragedy.
The band's journey has never been easy, with personnel changes and the untimely deaths of frontmen Guy Speranza, Rhett Forrester as well as the passing of long-time founding guitarist Mark Reale who finally lost his lifelong battle with Crohn's disease early last year, and with Tony Moore battling his own demons and health issues, RIOT, like Johnny, are back again!

MUNICIPAL WASTE, Ex-D.R.I. Members Join Forces In BAT
 Tankcrimes Records has announced the signing of BAT. An unholy union of MUNICIPAL WASTE guitarist Ryan Waste on bass/vocals, former D.R.I. drummer Felix Griffin and VOLTURE guitarist Nick Poulos, the Virginia/Texas punk metal marauders invoke the spirits of VENOM, HELLHAMMER, MOTÖRHEAD and DISCHARGE with their "Primitive Age" demo EP. Featuring five tracks of filthy, fuck-all, debauchery, "Primitive Age" is a primal outpouring of molten metal riffs, confrontational "Kill 'Em All" angst and enough vocal venom to level a nation. Sharing the same musical tastes and metal/punk backgrounds, the two immediately hit it off. Griffin hadn't performed with D.R.I. since the late Eighties and itched to play again. "We eventually spoke of doing a project together," relays Ryan. "Originally I was going to play all the guitars, bass and vocals and it would be a studio thing. We sat on this idea for years and humored it every time I'd pass through Texas. It seemed too exciting to not make this a real live band so I asked Nick from our current heavy metal band VOLTURE if he wanted on board as a permanent guitarist and it was a done deal. I would have my hands full singing and playing bass as it was."
BAT, which was the original working title before VOLTURE, seemed to suit the style they were going for so it stuck. "Nick and I cooked up a few raw demo songs, I laid down some basic garage band drums and we sent the tracks to Felix," says Ryan. "With Felix living in Austin and Nick and I in Richmond, Virginia, it had to be arranged like that to start. Over this last summer Felix flew in town for a week and we banged out those songs with live drums and wrote a couple more on the fly. With only a few practices under our belts we recorded all the music in one day on reel-to-reel analog tape. It was a challenge to not over analyze and nail down all live takes. It was indeed primitive. We wanted a raw sound to begin with and this turned out to be the ultimate way to achieve it." BLEEDING THROUGH's Trailer 'Totaled' In Road Accident
 California hardcore/metal outfit BLEEDING THROUGH was involved in a road accident on the way to the final show of the band's U.S. tour with WINDS OF PLAGUE, OCEANO, GIDEON, and SWORN IN.
Says BLEEDING THROUGH in a posting on the band's Facebook page: "Well, boys and girls, this happened again. Good news is no one is hurt and other than a totaled trailer we are fine. We loaded all the gear in the van and are trying to make it to Albuquerque [for the November 23 concert]."
BLEEDING THROUGH plans to hit South America in early 2014 and will conclude its career with a string of West Coast shows.
In a statement to BLABBERMOUTH.NET, BLEEDING THROUGH frontman Brandan Schieppati said about the group's decision to disband: "We have been a band since 1999, and many of us just had life catch up with us in the way of marriages, kids, businesses and other endeavors. We can no longer dedicate what we need to to keep BLEEDING THROUGH going.
"Personally, I feel doing this band in a part-time fashion is not what this band is about and and feel like we have always been an all-or-nothing band. HEIDEVOLK Announces New Singer
 Dutch folk metallers HEIDEVOLK have announced the addition of vocalist Lars (alias Bláhrafn) to the group's ranks.
Says the band: "Skilled in both the higher and lower vocal regions, we think Lars is an addition as well as an extension to the HEIDEVOLK sound.
"Having already rehearsed with Lars in the HEIDEVOLK rehearsal caves, it is safe to say that the vocal combination of Mark and Lars will blow you away!
"Now, after six months, our lineup is complete again and we feel refueled and ready to take on our next challenge: a new album, tentatively scheduled for mid-2014. Along with that, expect us to explore and invade familiar and new territories and clubs for a full force HEIDEVOLK live attack!"
Adds Lars: "I'm happy and honored to be among the ranks of HEIDEVOLK. Being both a listener and admirer of their music, I was thrilled to hear that they chose me.
"I can't wait to be on stage and in the studio with the band. Furthermore: I don't consider myself to be an exact replacement for Joris, but I hope to be a worthy successor as vocalist of HEIDEVOLK."

LANFEAR To Enter Studio In January
 German power metallers LANFEAR will enter the studio on January 17, 2014 to begin recording their seventh album. The drums for the follow-up to 2012's "This Harmonic Consonance" will be recorded at Dreamsound Studios in Munich with engineer Jan Vacik. After that, the guitars, keyboards and bass will be tracked in the band's home studios.
Regarding the sound of the new LANFEAR material, the group states: "The new tracks are, of course, melodic, powerful, heavy, catchy, sophisticated, commercial, fast, slow and thrashy and we reinvented the wheel with these tracks. You know that phrase-mongering, don't you?"
"This Harmonic Consonance" was released in February 2012 via Pure Steel Records. The group previously described the effort as "the heaviest LANFEAR album until now. [It contains] some pretty fast tracks but also the very first doom song in our history! The end result will blow your heads off! You can definitely achieve a natural and authentic production without sounding as if the recording sessions were held in a garbage can!"

Original JUDAS PRIEST Singer AL ATKINS' HOLY RAGE: 'Waste Away' Performance Video
 Video footage of HOLY RAGE, the U.K.-based band led by original JUDAS PRIEST frontman Al Atkins, performing the song "Waste Away" at the Public in West Bromwich can be seen below.
HOLY RAGE's self-titled debut album was released in October 2010 via Z Records.
Atkins has released two albums with ATKINS MAY PROJECT, a collaboration with Christian guitarist and music artist Paul May: 2012's "Valley Of Shadows" and 2011's "Serpent's Kiss".
Atkins is the co-writer of several PRIEST songs which are included on the band's first two albums, "Rocka Rolla" and "Sad Wings of Destiny", both of which eventually went gold. Atkins co-penned the heavy metal classic "Victim of Changes", which was a combination of Rob Halford's song "Red Light Lady" and Atkins' own "Whiskey Woman". He also co-wrote "Winter", "Never Satisfied", "Dreamer Deceiver" and "Caviar and Meths".
In 1989 Atkins released his debut solo album, "Judgement Day", to great acclaim. But it was "Heavy Thoughts" and "Victim of Changes" (the latter being his collaborative album with ex-JUDAS PRIEST drummer Dave Holland) that brought him strong sales and critical acclaim around the world.
JUDAS PRIEST bassist Ian Hill penned the foreword to Al Atkins's autobiography, titled "Dawn of the Metal Gods: My Life in Judas Priest and Heavy Metal". The book, which was written with Neil Daniels — a freelance rock writer and heavy metal fan who befriended Atkins during the writing of Neil's book "The Story Of Judas Priest: Defenders Of The Faith" (Omnibus Press) — was released in 2009 via Iron Pages. | 0 | |

Video: PAUL DI'ANNO, BLAZE BAYLEY Perform IRON MAIDEN Classic In Helsinki
 Fan-filmed video footage of former IRON MAIDEN singers Blaze Bayley and Paul Di'Anno — who are currently on the road together — performing MAIDEN's theme song, "Iron Maiden", on November 14 at Tavastia in Helsinki, Finland can be seen below.
Bayley and Di'Anno previously toured together in Russia and Australia/New Zealand last year. Asked how the trek came about, Blaze told Metal-Rules.com, "I had put it off for years as once before it had been suggested, but it didn’t feel right at the time. Also, when I had my full-time band, it was exclusive. No one in the band could do anything else, and that included me. There was a lot of things that I wanted to try, but I couldn’t do it as I was committed to staying with my full-time band. This offer came up, and I had done a couple of festivals on the same bill as Paul, and it was offered as a co-headliner, not as a support, switching the headliner every night. Paul was also OK with that and it also wasn't just all my MAIDEN stuff — it was a lot of my stuff from my own albums — so I could choose my setlist, to a certain degree, and also include my popular MAIDEN material also. It felt good to do it and say yes! It was also in Russia, a very difficult place to get into. The fans are great but it's very difficult to get in touch with them. Sometimes even to let them know that you are playing! I thought that it would be an opportunity for me, but on my last trip, there was poor promotion; I hardly played to anybody. I thought this time it would be different as all the shows were full, reaction was great and I played to a lot of new people. These people knew about me from IRON MAIDEN but had never seen me live. I came away from the tour after playing to my target audience and new people who had never previously seen me live; it was really good, Paul and I both enjoyed it."
Bayley added, "[Di'Anno is] a very funny guy with a dry sense of humor and we gave each other plenty of space, as we are both experienced with different opinions of IRON MAIDEN. It worked well."

Video: MEGADETH Performs At GEORGE JONES Tribute Concert
 MEGADETH played at the tribute concert honoring the late Country Music Hall Of Famer George Jones last night (Friday, November 22) at Nashville, Tennessee's Bridgestone Arena.
MEGADETH was joined by Jamey Johnson for a performance of Jones' song "Wild Irish Rose".
"I am honoring George's belief in the veterans," said MEGADETH mainman Dave Mustaine, "which is the best way I know to show respect to his legacy, and to his wife and family."
Mustaine admitted the song "may be an unexpected choice," given Jones' extensive catalog of hits. But he said the 1998 single is "a perfect example of Jones' way of reaching inside every one of us, and making us aware that we all have pain."
MEGADETH was part of an extensive, and primarily country music, lineup for the event, dubbed "Playin' Possum! The Final NO Show". Kid Rock and R&B star Sam Moore also performed at the concert, along with Charlie Daniels, Brad Paisley, Blake Shelton, Reba McEntire, and many, many more.

TODD LA TORRE-Fronted Version Of QUEENSRŸCHE: 'Ad Lucem' Mini Movie Posted Online
 The Todd La Torre-fronted version of QUEENSRŸCHE recently filmed a "mini movie," with the tracks "Spore", "Midnight Lullaby", "A World Without" and "X2" providing the score to a 10-plus minute story, dubbed "Queensrÿche: Ad Lucem". The film was created by Veva Entertainment Co. with director Daniel Andres Gomez Bagby and producer Marco De Molina and was filmed on location at Central City Stages in Los Angeles.

Commented Todd: "We decided to take a different approach with this video, which is comprised of four pieces of music from our latest self-titled release, 'Queensrÿche'. It's a conceptual mini-movie music video that invites the audience to scratch beneath the surface a bit, rather than the usual 'chewed food' that so many are used to being fed. We really wanted to deviate from a performance type of video so the music and story-line could be the main focus." He added: "The overall theme of the song 'Spore' is one that deals with personal demons, relationship struggles, career pressures, personal/professional morals and ethical dilemmas. These are issues we all face on some level and the video touches upon them all.
"'Midnight Lullaby'/'A World Without' deals with the loss of a mother during childbirth, leaving a father as a single parent and struggling to move forward through the turmoil.
"'X2', though it opens up our album, provides for a nice outro to it all. The end result is a roller coaster of emotion in an effort to find a healthy resolve.
"Given our history, we feel that this multifaceted conceptual video, along with a great cast of actors to suit, will really resonate with our fans."
QUEENSRŸCHE's new, self-titled album sold around 13,500 copies in the United States in its first week of release to land at position No. 23 on The Billboard 200 chart. The record arrived in stores on June 25 via Century Media Records.
"Queensrÿche" marks the debut release from the lineup comprised of Todd La Torre (vocals; ex-CRIMSON GLORY), Michael Wilton (guitar), Parker Lundgren (guitar), Eddie Jackson (bass) and Scott Rockenfield (drums). The drums for the album were recorded at London Bridge Studios in Seattle, Washington with producer James "Jimbo" Barton — the man who engineered and mixed the band's classic 1988 LP, "Operation: Mindcrime", and its 1990 follow-up, "Empire", and co-produced 1994's "Promised Land". The rest of the music and vocals were laid down at several different facilities on the West Coast. The cover artwork was created by Craig Howell, who has previously worked on designs for "Star Wars", SLIPKNOT and "American Idol", to name a few.

BLACK STAR RIDERS's debut album, "All Hell Breaks Loose", sold around 2,200 copies in the United States in its first week of release. The CD landed at position No. 5 on the Top New Artist Albums (Heatseekers) chart, which lists the best-selling albums by new and developing artists, defined as those who have never appeared in the Top 100 of The Billboard 200.
The "All Hell Breaks Loose" artwork features a painting by Gil Elvgren (March 15, 1914 - February 29, 1980), the legendary U.S. painter best known for his work on pin-up girls, advertising and illustration.
"All Hell Breaks Loose" was recorded and mixed by producer Kevin Shirley (LED ZEPPELIN, IRON MAIDEN, AEROSMITH, RUSH) at his The Cave studios in Malibu, California. Mastering duties were handled by Bob Ludwig (JIMI HENDRIX, RUSH, KISS, LED ZEPPELIN) at Gateway Mastering Studios in Portland, Maine.
The album was released as a standard CD and also as a special-edition digipak featuring a bonus track, "Right To Be Wrong", and a "making-of" DVD.

MOTÖRHEAD, EUROPE, KING DIAMOND Members Join Forces In NORDIC BEAST
 Mikkey Dee (MOTÖRHEAD), John Norum (EUROPE), Åge Sten Nilsen (WIG WAM), Hal Patino (KING DIAMOND) and Mic Michaeli (EUROPE) have joined forces in a new band called NORDIC BEAST.
NORDIC BEAST will play its first concert on January 31, 2014 at Rockefeller Music Hall in Oslo, Norway.
The members of NORDIC BEAST insists that their newly formed band will not interfere with their main bands' activities. But they don't rule out that NORDIC BEAST will write original material at some point. Until then the band will offer a kick-ass live set containing the very best from their individual careers with MOTÖRHEAD, EUROPE, WIG WAM, DOKKEN, John Norum solo, KING DIAMOND and a lot more.

METALLICA: 'Through The Never' Soundtrack Vinyl Coming To Official Store Next Week
 "Metallica Through The Never (Music From The Motion Picture)", the soundtrack companion to the groundbreaking 3D feature film "Metallica Through The Never", arrives on vinyl in the the band's official store, Met Store at Metallica.com, on Monday, November 25 at 1 p.m. Pacific Time. Choose between the limited 4-LP 45 RPM set on black vinyl and the 3-LP 33 1/3 set including one disc each in red, white and black.
As part of Record Store Day's "Black Friday" event on November 29, METALLICA will release a 4xLP 45rpm 180-gram numbered limited vinyl edition of "Metallica Through The Never (Music From The Motion Picture)". The release is limited to only 4000 copies.
Founded in 2007 and officially kicked off in 2008 by METALLICA, Record Store Day normally takes place on the third Saturday of every April and brings together artists and independently owned record stores around the world to celebrate the art of music. Special vinyl and CD releases and various promotional products are made exclusively for the day and sold in independent stores.

Asked about the fact that METALLICA was the first big band to support Record Store Day, METALLICA drummer Lars Ulrich told Q magazine: "Speaking just for me, I've been collecting records since I was nine, and records have just been such a significant part of my life. It's the reason I wanted to be in a band, so stepping up and helping out Record Store Day is what METALLICA call a 'no-brainer.'"
Added METALLICA frontman James Hetfield: "For me, it was when my daughter wanted a turntable. I was, like, [shouts] 'Yes!' I took her to Amoeba Records in San Francisco. She got home and played some vinyl albums on her new turntable. Then about two days later, she said, 'Dad, there's songs on the other side!' [laughs] Yeah, alright!"

QUIET RIOT Joined By LOVE/HATE Singer JIZZY PEARL
 QUIET RIOT has "amicably" parted ways with singer Scott Vokoun and has replaced him with LOVE/HATE vocalist Jizzy Pearl.
Pearl (pictured above) will make his live debut with QUIET RIOT on New Year's Eve (December 31) in Flagstaff, Arizona.
QUIET RIOT is currently in the recording studio with Jizzy in preparation for the release of a new album in early 2014.
Says QUIET RIOT in a statement: "[We] thank Scott for his past dedication and wish him much continued success."
Vokoun joined QUIET RIOT in March 2012 after playing several shows the previous month with ex-MONTROSE vocalist Keith St. John following the departure of Mark Huff.

QUIET RIOT singer Kevin DuBrow died in November 2007 of an accidental cocaine overdose. He was 52 years old.

RHAPSODY OF FIRE: 'Dark Wings Of Steel' Album Preview
 Italian symphonic metallers RHAPSODY OF FIRE will release their new studio album, "Dark Wings Of Steel", on November 22 in Europe and December 3 in the USA via AFM Records. The CD was produced by keyboardist Alex Staropoli, with all songs composed by Staropoli and Manuel Staropoli, with assistance from Roby De Micheli. All lyrics were written by singer Fabio Lione. The effort features a full orchestra, a choir and real string instruments, as in the finest RHAPSODY OF FIRE tradition.
"Dark Wings Of Steel" will be released on CD, double vinyl and as a digipak. The digipak and vinyl versions will include a bonus track.

RHAPSODY OF FIRE in June "respectfully" parted ways with their American guitarist Tom Hess due to "philosophical differences."
RHAPSODY OF FIRE released a new live album, "Live - From Chaos To Eternity", on May 3 in Europe and May 7 in the USA via AFM Records. It was made available as two-CD digipak and as limited three-vinyl set. The material (a mixture of old classics and newer tracks) was recorded on the band’s latest European tour in spring 2012.
Staropoli and RHAPSODY OF FIRE guitarist Luca Turilli in 2011 announced their decision to go their separate ways.
Due to legal reasons, Staropoli is continuing under the RHAPSODY OF FIRE name. Turilli, on the other hand, is making his efforts available under the RHAPSODY moniker (RHAPSODY OF FIRE's original name), in which he is joined by guitarist Dominique Leurquin, bassist Patrice Guers, singer Alessandro Conti (TRICK OR TREAT) and drummer Alex Landenburg (AT VANCE, ANNIHILATOR, MEKONG DELTA, STRATOVARIUS).
RHAPSODY OF FIRE's latest album, "From Chaos To Eternity", was released in North America on July 12, 2011 via Nuclear Blast Records. Described by the band as "the natural evolution" from 2010's "The Frozen Tears Of Angels", the CD marks RHAPSODY OF FIRE's final release based on the fantasy saga started in 1997 with the group's debut album, "Legendary Tales".

Issued on April 23, the CD was produced by Jason Slater at a studio in Northern California.
"Frequency Unknown" is packaged with bonus tracks — four QUEENSRŸCHE classics, newly recorded, including the smash hit single "Silent Lucidity". Guest musicians on the CD include K.K.
