PUTRIFIED To Release Sacrilegious Purification Mini-Album
 Swedish death/black metal one-man project PUTRIFIED will release the new mini-album Sacrilegious Purification on October 15th via Hellthrasher Productions. The follow-up to last year's Neurotic Necrotic, the album consists of six brand new tracks, combining raw death metal in the vein of the band's previous records with a bit of dense yet uplifting black metal, dealing with the themes of sacrifice, faith, spiritual death and the struggle of salvation through our flesh. The material was entirely written, performed and recorded by A.Death (INFUNERAL) and mixed/mastered by Oskar and Devo (MARDUK) at Endarker Studio.

DEAD TROOPER Release Sophomore Full-Length Album And DVD
 Erector, the sophomore full-length album from Norwegian thrashers DEAD TROOPER, hits the streets on Kannibal Records today, October 7th. Guests on the album inlude members of ENSLAVED, KEEP OF KALESSIN, MORBID ANGEL, 1349, TROLLFEST and HELLISH OUTCAST.
The first press of Erector is released in a double jewel case format with a thirteen-track CD and a DVD of Dead Trooper’s 10th Anniversary show at Musikkflekken in Sandvika, Norway, which was also the farewell show for the band’s then-guitar player and co-founder Birger Larsen. Artwork and photography for the album are by Haakon Hoseth. A digital release of Erector will also appear, and all formats are available direct from the band themselves through the Dead Trooper BandCamp page at http://deadtrooper.bandcamp.com/

Dead Trooper was formed in 2002 in Oslo, Norway, by Morten Müller (DEATH INJECTOR, TROLLFEST, METAL MILITIA, ex-GRIMFIST) and Birger Larsen (GROTESQUE HYSTERECTOMY, Metal Militia, Death Injector, ex-Grimfist). The release of the debut full-length album Cynisist in 2009 and the Sickening EP in 2010 earned the band critical acclaim from both fans and press. Today’s lineup combines impressive musical skills with an abundance of enthusiasm, charisma and high energy that produces what Dead Trooper themselves call “groovy, aggressive thrash metal”. The presence of Morten on vocals and guitars, Andreas Stenvoll (BLODSPOR, ex-TROLL) on bass and vocals and Jon Eirik Bokn (ZEROZONIC, BREED, AUTUMN INSPIRATION) on drums, gives an indication of the amount of experience both in the studio and on stage that these musicians bring with them.
Dead Trooper will appear at a special launch concert for Erector at the Cafe Fiasco in Oslo, Norway, on October 25th.

VIXEN Guitarist JAN KUEHNEMUND Dies
 The official Facebook page of the platinum-selling all-female '80s band VIXEN has been updated with the following message:
"It is with profound sadness that we announce the sudden passing of VIXEN founder and lead guitarist, Jan Kuehnemund, who lost a fierce battle with cancer on Thursday, October 10, 2013.
"Though most well known for her gifted guitar playing and other musical talents, Jan was a rare friend and beautiful in every sense of the word. Humble, thoughtful, loyal and kind, she was the most gracious of women, possessing the quiet strength of a true warrior. She genuinely loved and appreciated her friends and fans more than most could ever know. Those who were most fortunate to have known her and loved her are heartbroken at the loss of Jan, whose spirit will shine through her music eternally.
"Jan was very courageous. Never complained. Never gave up. The cancer beat her body but it NEVER broke her spirit at any point.
"Up until the actual moment that she died, she really believed she was going back home.
"Jan... you will be missed... but never forgotten."
Jan Kuehnemund was only 51 years old at the time of her death.
VIXEN's last studio album, "Live & Learn", was released in 2006.
The group, whose latest lineup featured Kuehnemund alongside Jenna Sanz-Agero (vocals), Lynn Louise Lowrey (bass), and Kat Kraft (drums), reformed several times, most recently in 2008, resulting in the live release "Live In Sweden", which arrived in 2009.
"Live & Learn" was VIXEN's first studio recording to feature Kuehnemund since 1990's "Rev It Up".
Kuehnemund reformed VIXEN in 2001 for the Voices of Metal tour with a lineup that had to be revamped 10 dates into the trek. Undeterred, with less than a month of rehearsals, the three new members successfully finished the run.
VIXEN's original members, Kuehnemund, vocalist Janet Gardner, drummer Roxy Petrucci and bassist Share Ross appeared together on VH1's "Bands Reunited" in October 2004 to reminisce about their start on L.A.'s Sunset Strip and their rise to fame in the late 1980s, before the onset of grunge in the early 1990s displaced metal at the top of the charts. They also took part in a short performance for the program.
Gardner, Petrucci and Ross are currently performing together in a new band called JANETSHAREROXYGINA. The group's lineup is rounded out by Gina Stile, who was the guitarist on VIXEN's "Tangerine" album.
In a statement on her Facebook page, Ross wrote: "Much more than simply a brilliant guitarist and amazing songwriter, Jan was one of the kindest souls you could ever hope to meet. She remembered everyone's birthdays and special occasions with gifts and was one of the most gracious women on the planet.
"Through her year-long battle with cancer, Jan was very courageous. She never complained and never gave up. The cancer beat her body but it never broke her spirit at any moment.
"For those of you who wondered why VIXEN never reunited, we actually did reunite.
"We had resolved our differences and were wholeheartedly looking forward to playing together again.
"In January 2013, only days before the announcement was to be made public, Jan was given her cancer diagnosis. She requested that we keep her illness private and out of respect for her wishes when press and fans asked us why we were not back together, we replied 'it's a matter of timing.' Since then we've been in regular contact with her and offered our loving support while continually hoping to make 2014 the year of VIXEN. However, it was not meant to be.
"Our condolences go out to her family.
"Memorial services will be announced at a later date.
"Jan, you will be missed. But never forgotten.
"Don't cry because it's over. Smile because it happened."
In April 2013 interview with GuitarWorld.com, Ross stated about the formation of JANETSHAREROXYGINA: "We've been talking about getting back together as VIXEN for a while. I know some people think there are some big shenanigans going on, but the fact is we're all still friends with Jan. The timing just isn't right. So, we've decided to let go of the VIXEN thing for now and reached out to Gina. Out of respect for Jan, we're not going to call it VIXEN and instead calling it JSRG."

INNER SANCTUM Demos To Be Reissued
 Rising within the UK’s electrifying metal scene of the late 80’s, INNER SANCTUM eventually found themselves at odds with the majority of their surroundings. While during their early years they embraced the popularity of the exploding thrash scene, but they simply were not content attempting to fit a mold of what that type of band should be. They grew more exploratory, stretching their creative wings and drifting further into much more progressive territories. Was this a calculated maneuver or a huge misstep on their part? History might suggest the latter, but these six demo tapes reveal a band embracing their enigmatic destiny and steamrolling headlong down the road less traveled.
The reissue of the demos will be a limited edition 2CD set with only 500 units pressed, new artwork, band supplied photos, full-color 12 page booklet, and new interview with band members.

LEADING THE BETRAYED - Pre-Production For New Album Begins In November
 LEADING THE BETRAYED - featuring THE AGONIST guitarist Pascal "Paco" Jobin - are gearing up to record some new material. Drummer Steve Lajeunesse has checked in with the following update:
"Working on some drum parts for Leading The Betrayed, and I am very happy with the material that we have for the record that we are preparing to deliver. Pre-production for 10-11 songs will begin in November, and I can't wait to get into a studio and record these songs!"
The band issued a previous update back in July:
"Some people have been asking 'When are we going to hear the vocals for LTB? Well, we have been working with a singer, and here is a sample of what Leading The Betrayed will sound like with vocals! It's just a demo, but this man sounds awesome. Can you guess who he is?!"

PROTEST THE HERO Announces New Drummer
 After the departure of longtime drummer Moe Carlson, Canada's PROTEST THE HERO enlisted LAMB OF GOD's Chris Adler to sit behind the kit for the recording sessions of the band's forthcoming album, "Volition". Now with extensive touring on the horizon, PROTEST THE HERO has decided to fill the slot permanently with Mike Ieradi.
Says the band: "Finding a new drummer has proven to be a tough task! We had interest and video submissions from many friends, fans, and family alike (yes, Choadie's mom sent in a video of her ripping 'C'est La Vie!'). Every single one of those submissions was wonderful — but we realized it was going to be impossible to select a drummer based on a YouTube video. We needed someone who we knew. Someone who we thought we wouldn't murder and leave at the side of the road two weeks into tour. We think we have found that person in Mike Ieradi — a Canadian fella we met many moons ago.
"What's that, you say? Mike is already in another band? Yes, he is. He will be playing in two bands on this upcoming tour. He will be opening with his band THE KINDRED and will then wrap the night up playing with us.
"Despite pulling double duty on this tour, he IS the newest member of PROTEST THE HERO and will hopefully be with us until we hang up the old jazz picks. No pressure, Mike!"
Adds Ieradi, "[I'm] happy to announce my new role in PROTEST THE HERO. I'm excited to be a full-blown member of a great band with some great friends, and looking forward to the future with these goons. Stoked to see everyone out on this upcoming tour, and I hope you enjoy watching me sweat my way through two sets with PROTEST and THE KINDRED. It should be a fun one!"
PROTEST THE HERO's fourth studio CD, "Volition", will be released on October 29 (one day earlier internationally). The long-awaited follow-up to 2011's "Scurrilous" (Vagrant), "Volition" has been licensed to series of worldwide partners who will help distribute and market it to both traditional stores alongside digital service providers, thus making the new record available on a worldwide scale. PROTEST THE HERO and Razor & Tie will join forces for the United States, while the album will be released in Canada through Sony Music and in the rest of the word via Spinefarm.

HEART OF A COWARD Perform 'Deadweight' Live At Download 2013; Video Streaming
 UK heavyweight metal quintet HEART OF A COWARD have launched a live clip for the song 'Deadweight', from their performance at this year’s Download Festival.
The band recently released a lyric video for the song 'Nauseam', taken off their upcoming album Severance, due to be released November 4th in Europe and November 12th in North America.

Frontman Jamie Graham about the song: “Nauseam revolves around the concept of something we all see every day within every social circle: people exhausting every opportunity given and burning every bridge they built... one day they wake to realise no-one wants anything to do with them and they are now despite by those whose opinions they hold so dear. Try too hard to be loved and you end up hated, in other words...!”
The instrumentals for 'Severance' were recorded with Acle Kahney (also in TESSERACT) at his 4D Studios in Brighton while the vocals were tracked with Justin Hill at Fortress Studios in London. The album was mixed at Machine Shop in New Jersey, USA, by Will Putney (SUICIDE SILENCE, THY ART IS MURDER, DEMORALISER).
Heart Of A Coward are already busy scheduling various live activities, first will be their own headlining tour throughout the UK with support coming from THE CHARM THE FURY and MALEVOLENCE.

ONHEIL - Storm Is Coming Album Details Revealed
 Dutch blackened metallers ONHEIL have released the cover and tracklisting for their upcoming album, Storm Is Coming, the follow-up to their album Razor (2009). The album is currently being mixed and mastered by Bart Hennephof (TEXTURES) and Yuma van Eekelen (ex-PESTILENCE) at the Final Focus Studios. The release is set for early 2014 via Cyclone Empire.
Singer/Guitarist Amok comments: "Like most bands, we always want to make our new album the best one. But as the reception of our previous album Razor was amazing, that was one fuckin' tough job to do! We took the sound of Razor as the blueprint and then injected it with even more power and dynamics! You will hear that in our riffs and drumming! Besides that we gave a bit more room for classic heavy and thrash metal influences and with that created more contrast with our blasting black and death metal. That resulted in an unique blend that is the Onheil sound. We needed some time to do it, but we believe we succeeded in making a great follow-up album! Let's hope the metal world agrees! ANNIHILATOR: Quality Footage Of Enschede Performance

ANNIHILATOR's 14th studio album, "Feast", sold around 800 copies in the United States in its first week of release.
In a recent interview with Ghost Cult Magazine, ANNIHILATOR guitarist/mainman Jeff Waters stated about "Feast": "As an artist, you're sometimes lucky when it all comes together, be it painting, singing or whatever. Sometimes you want to do something good and when you're busy with it, you seem to hit the nail on the head. When you listen back, it doesn't contain your best work. Sometimes it just works. Bands like IRON MAIDEN, JUDAS PRIEST, SLAYER and also we in ANNIHILATOR have great records and we have our share of not-so-good records. Different times, different places, you know. Maybe we were lucky with 'Feast' and maybe we were inspired. A lot of it comes from that my partner in ANNIHILATOR, singer/guitarist Dave Padden, said that we should take a break for three years from writing music and focus on other things. We did a lot of touring, I worked in my studio, give guitar clinics for Gibson and Epiphone and we played the 70000 Tons Of Metal cruise, all these cool things. The break breathed a lot of new life in the ANNIHILATOR music and that's probably where a lot of the inspiration came from."
Asked how his working relationship with Dave Padden has developed over the years, Waters told Ghost Cult Magazine: "When Dave came in 2004, he was just 'another' singer. We had a lot of different singers and musicians in the band throughout the years. Looking back, every singer was good for the time they were in the band and without them things would have been much different. When Dave joined the band 10 years ago, things were different, because he was a guitar player and not really known as a singer. When he auditioned, I really liked the versatility of his voice, so I decided to give him a chance. I stuck with him and worked with him long enough to see him developing into a killer guitar player and singer live. He's a very talented guy. He came from being scorned and criticized to becoming an integral part of some of our best albums. After four or five years, I realized he became more of a partner and I start phoning him to ask for his input on touring, equipment and endorsement deals. So we're half a band nowadays; you get two out of four. [laughs]" | 0 | |

ILLNATH Calls It Quits
 Danish metallers ILLNATH have called it quits following the departure of guitarist Peter Falk.
Falk says in a statement: "I have experienced many things since 1997 when ILLNATH played our first tunes. As the only founding member since then, I have always had a strong belief in the band. Nothing has been able to overshadow the will and energy to work forward and fight for things.
"I am 37 years old now and I have gained a more nuanced view of things. In the recent years, my personal musical preferences moved in a somewhat different direction than melodic extreme metal, and I feel that now is the time for a change.
"I regret nothing in my time with ILLNATH and I have had many great experiences with the band, but my heart does not live and breathe for this band anymore.
"Given that neither Dennis [Stockmarr, drums], Kenneth [Frandsen, bass] or Marika [Hyldmar, vocals] feel that it is the right thing to continue ILLNATH without my participation, we have decided to call it a day.
"Instead of focusing on the sad aspect of ILLNATH stopping, I encourage our fans to focus on the good things ILLNATH, after all, has brought to the world through the nearly 20 years as an active band.
"I will still be working on my solo project LEADFREAK and Marika will be working in her black metal band MACHIAVELLIAN.
"We all hope to see you guys around through other musical aspects, and last but not least we would like to thank you all for the years of support and dedication towards the band, you have been our rock through it all. We sincerely thank you."
ILLNATH's fourth album, "4 Shades Of Me", was released in March via Pitch Black Records.

Italy's CRAWLING CHAOS To Release Repellent Gastronomy Album; Video Trailer Streaming
 Italian death metallers CRAWLING CHAOS have signed a deal with Memorial Records for the release of their new album, entitled Repellent Gastronomy.
The album was co-produced by SBRT, and will be available from November 12th on all digital stores and in Italy via Andromeda Rock in physical version. A mix between old school and some of the new trends of the extreme fringes of metal, Crawling Chaos are ready to conquer media and fans.
The first comment from the band about Repellent Gastronomy: "Repellent Gastronomy is the savoury course that will introduce you to a disquieting world of brutality, groove and unspeakable horrors.  Canadian female-fronted old school thrash warriors MORTILLERY have issued the following update:

TRIOSPHERE Begins Recording New Album
 Norwegian female-fronted metallers TRIOSPHERE have issued the following update:
"Since our European tour with KAMELOT last November, things have been a little quiet from the TRIOSPHERE camp, but that's only on the outside! On the inside, it's been put down hundreds of hours of work and finalizing of the material for our long-overdue third album, so it's with great joy and pride we can announce that the recording of it has begun! The drums are already finished, and Ida [Haukland, vocals/bass] is next to put down the bass before Marius [Silver Bergesen] and T.O. [Byberg] embark on the guitars. "This album has got much bigger 'balls' than our second album, 'The Road Less Travelled', but without comprimising the grand atmosphere and focus on strong and catchy melodies like we've done on our two previous albums. We believe that those who've waited patiently will feel that the album is worth the wait, and we of course also hope it will gain the band new listeners! At this moment, we still have not decided on the title or release date, but expect it to be available in the early beginning of next year!" "The Road Less Travelled" was released in May 2010 via AFM Records. The follow-up to 2007's "Onwards" was recorded at Trondheim Lydstudio in Trondheim, Norway and was mixed at Tommy Hansen's Jailhouse Studios in Denmark.

PAUL DI'ANNO Guests On RUSHMORE Song (Audio)
 "Kingdom Of Demons", a brand new song from the Paraguayan metal band RUSHMORE, can be streamed using the SoundCloud widget below. Making a guest appearance on the track is former IRON MAIDEN singer Paul Di'Anno.
In 2008 RUSHMORE was the band that supported Di'Anno on his Latin American tour.
After a lot of negotiations, RUSHMORE was finally able to get their old friend to collaborate with them on their new album.
Due to a number of health issues, including a knee problem which will require surgery soon, Di'Anno announced in July 2012 that he would stop touring in 2013.
Di'Anno recorded two classic albums with IRON MAIDEN before being fired and replaced by Bruce Dickinson. He went on to front a number of other bands, including KILLERS and BATTLEZONE, and released several solo records.

SEPULTURA Performs New Songs On Brazil's 'Metrópolis' TV Show (Video)
 On October 10, Brazilian/American metallers SEPULTURA performed live in the studios of the Brazilian TV show "Metrópolis", which airs on TV Cultura. The band played the songs "The Age Of The Atheist" and "Da Lama ao Caos" (a CHICO SCIENCE & NAÇÃO ZUMBI cover, featuring guitarist Andreas Kisser on lead vocals). "The Age Of The Atheist" and "Da Lama ao Caos" are featured on SEPULTURA's new album, "The Mediator Between Head And Hands Must Be The Heart", which will be released on October 25 via Nuclear Blast Records. The artwork was created by Brazilian artist Alexandre Wagner, who specializes in charcoal drawing techniques.

Although it was inspired by Fritz Lang's classic 1927 movie "Metropolis", the CD, "The Mediator Between Head And Hands Must Be The Heart" is not a concept album or a soundtrack like its precedessors "Dante XXI" (based on "The Divine Comedy") and "A-Lex" (based on "A Clockwork Orange").
"The Mediator Between The Head And Hands Must Be The Heart" was tracked over a 40-day period at producer Ross Robinson's (KORN, LIMP BIZKIT, SLIPKNOT) studio in Venice, California and is being mixed and mastered by co-producer Steve Evetts, who previously worked with SEPULTURA on the "Nation" (2001), "Revolusongs" (2002) and "Roorback" (2003) albums, in addition to having collaborated with Ross on a number of other projects in the past.
SEPULTURA recorded a total of 14 songs for the follow-up to 2011's "Kairos", including a cover version of DEATH's "Zombie Ritual". The CD will also feature a guest appearance by former SLAYER drummer Dave Lombardo. In a recent interview with JacksonGuitars.com, Kisser stated about the direction of the new SEPULTURA album: "I write stuff all the time — riffs or ideas on an acoustic guitar. But we really started working on this album in February of this year, so it was pretty quick. We have Eloy Casagrande as our drummer, and he's 22 years old. The guy's a beast. One of the best drummers I've seen on the planet Earth. He has this metal blood that has so much energy and brings so many possibilities for riffs and stuff like that. It is a SEPULTURA album, but like every SEPULTURA album, there is something different. I think the main difference now is the drummer. It's the first time we've worked in the studio with him. It's been almost two years [since the last album], and it's very exciting."

Due on October 29 via Prosthetic Records, the follow-up to 2011's "Forever Abomination" was recorded this past spring at GodCity Studio with Kurt Ballou (CONVERGE, KVELERTAK, HIGH ON FIRE). ANNIHILATED To Enter Studio This Month
 Los Angeles death metallers ANNIHILATED will enter Trench Studios in Corona, California later this month to record the beast of brutality that will be "13 Steps To Ruination". Set for release via their new label home of Unique Leader Records, the CD will be produced by drummer Scott Fuller (ABYSMAL DAWN). Drums will be recorded by producer/engineer John Haddad (ABYSMAL DAWN, EXHUMED, INTRONAUT). Comments the band: "We think this is our heaviest, and catchiest stuff we've written with a very real and intense message we think people will really dig it."
ANNIHILATED was formed by guitarists Eric Matranga and Robert Fimbres in 2008, shortly after the breakup of the L.A. death metal band EXCRETION. They began to create songs with a sense of purpose as an outlet for their vital message to promote rational thinking and freely question what's being told to us through the press and new media outlets.
In 2012, drummer Scott Fuller (ABYSMAL DAWN) joined the group with the same values and ideologies. Helping to succeed their musical purpose, he added a new dimension of percussive flavor and syncopation to the music. Shortly after, they recruited Martin Rygiel (ex-DECAPITATED) to lay down the bass tracks on their EP, "Injected". ICED EARTH: Lyric Video For 'Plagues Of Babylon' Title Track
 North American metallers ICED EARTH will release their new album, "Plagues Of Babylon", for a January 2014 via Century Media Records. The cover artwork was created and illustrated by Eliran Kantor (TESTAMENT, ATHEIST, SIGH, ANACRUSIS, GWAR).
Says ICED EARTH vocalist/guitarist Jon Schaffer: "This is a seriously heavy album with a seriously brutal album cover. I'm sure it will go down as a classic in the epic ICED EARTH catalog."

Speaking to Metal4 magazine at the Rockharz open-air festival in Germany in July, Schaffer said about the upcoming CD: "It's a bit of a different thing for us, because it's half of a concept and the other half is [standalone] tracks. Musically, I think it's just another step in the right direction. It's really heavy, it's very melodic. It has a really epic feeling. Even though there isn't, like, a monster, long epic track, the overall feel of the songs is very epic. I mean, there's no 'Dante's Inferno' or 'Gettysburg' or the 'Something Wicked' trilogy or something like that on here, but I'm really happy with it."
ICED EARTH recently parted ways with drummer Brent Smedley for "personal family reasons." He has since been replaced by Raphael Saini (CHAOSWAVE).
ICED EARTH has been hitting it relentlessly, with the recent studio album, "Dystopia", being the most toured album in the band's illustrious history.
One of the many highlights of the "World Dystopia Tour", a headline show at the historic Kourion Amphitheatre in Cyprus, was recently released on Blu-ray, DVD and in many other formats under the title "Live In Ancient Kourion".
"Dystopia" was released in October 2011 via Century Media Records. The CD marked the band's recording debut with singer Stu Block (INTO ETERNITY), who joined ICED EARTH in March 2011 following the departure of Matt Barlow.

JUDAS PRIEST Singer ROB HALFORD To Guest On 'The Simpsons'
 According to Entertainment Weekly, the voice of JUDAS PRIEST singer Rob Halford wil be featured in an episode of the animated series "The Simpsons", set to air sometime next year. The episode will also star Will Arnett, director Judd Apatow, and his frequent costars Leslie Mann, Paul Rudd and Seth Rogen.
Simpsons executive producer Matt Selman tells Entertainment Weekly that in the episode, titled "Steal This Episode", Homer is taught by Bart how to illegally download films, and he starts screening them in his backyard for folks in Springfield. "Even though Homer is stealing, he's doing it for the community, he’s doing it out of the goodness of his heart," says Selman. An overzealous FBI director in charge of anti-piracy subsuqently goes after Homer, and Halford winds up singing a parody of the JUDAS PRIEST classic "Breaking The Law" in an effort to nab Homer.
In 2002, Halford had a small film role as a pornographic video store clerk in "Spun", a crime comedy-drama dark-comedy directed by Jonas Åkerlund, who has helmed music videos for some of the biggest pop and rock artists in the world. Rob told Screamer Magazine earlier this year: "I had a fantastic opportunity to work on that 'Spun' movie with Mickey Rourke. And to watch Mickey Rourke, I just don't know how he does it. He just switches it on, and he's a different person almost. That's the great challenge that these actors have. It's not easy, but these actors make it look easy because they are so good at what they do."
Given a chance to act again, Halford said that he would certainly consider it. "I never say no to anything," he said. "I think if you do, you don't know what you've missed. I think you should try everything in life. If it doesn't work out, then at least you can say you've tried it. There's nothing worse than having regrets. If life affords you an opportunity and you can go for it, then you should."

DORO: From Rock Legend To Cinema Warrior - And Back
 Leisure time does not seem to exist for German metal queen Doro Pesch, as she is once again about to face an event-packed schedule shuffling between two worlds: the music business and the movie industry. After laying down vocals in early October in Hamburg, Doro took off to the Swiss mountains this past week to finish working on the sequel to "Anuk - Way Of The Warrior', where she will star as the warrior Meha, who is fighting dark rivaling hordes with her mountain people in 2,500 BD.
Doro has since gathered her band for a final rehearsal prior to the upcoming Germany tour, which starts October 12 in Munich. A relaxed Doro comments: "I am looking forward to [seeing] my fans, especially since we're celebrating our 30th stage anniversary on this tour. And the making of the movie was just great. In one scene, I had to bite off an enemy's ear. Afterwards you can see my face covered with a blood. Looks really tough, but it was so much fun to do this movie. I also love those scenes when I'm surrounded by horses and dogs." The new "Anuk" film will be released in late 2014 and the accompanying soundtrack will include songs from Doro's most recent output, "Raise Your Fist In The Air". Doro states: "For me, the song 'Free Your Heart' fits the film perfectly." "Raise Your Fist" sold 585 copies in the United States in its first week of release. The CD landed at position No. 65 on the Top New Artist Albums (Heatseekers) chart, which lists the best-selling albums by new and developing artists, defined as those who have never appeared in the Top 100 of The Billboard 200.
