NOCTUM: 'Temple Of The Living Dead' Lyric Video Released
 The official lyric video for the song "Temple Of The Living Dead" from Swedish rockers NOCTUM can be seen below. The track comes off the band's new album, "Final Sacrifice", which will be released on October 29 via Metal Blade Records. The cover art was painted by Timo Ketola (SUNN O))), ARKTAU EOS) and fits perfectly with the album's raw, natural sound.
"Final Sacrifice" is a fictional horror story where each song communicates a portion of the overall narrative. The "final sacrifice" is like a red thread that ties the songs together and is the concept behind the art. "Final Sacrifice" is an analog piece of art in both audio and visual aspects.
In the town of Uppsala, Sweden in the year 2009, a band called SÉANCE was formed. Moving at breakneck speed the band formed in September, recorded a two-song demo after adding guitarist Per Wikström to the lineup in October, and by November had changed their name to NOCTUM. Within those three months, the band signed an LP deal with High Roller Records, and a CD deal with Stormspell Records.
NOCTUM's debut album, "The Séance", was released in September 2010 via High Roller and in December by Stormspell. The band finally embarked on its first European tour in July of 2011, and followed that up with a new EP, "The Fiddler".
By August of 2011, NOCTUM created enough buzz in the underground to gain the attention of Metal Blade Records, which led to a new worldwide record deal.
With a new record deal in place with a global label, NOCTUM spent the majority of 2012 refining their sound and writing new songs. Their search for original and interesting material led them to a heavier and darker sound. The progression came very naturally for the band and differs from the typical '70s vibe. The new material successfully evokes a heaviness and emotion one might not expect from a "retro"-sounding band.
NOCTUM toured Europe again in 2012, and then welcomed the addition of drummer Fredrik Jansson after Gustaf's departure. Jansson, who spent time in WITCHCRAFT, COUNT RAVEN, and ABRAMIS BRAMA, was added to the lineup in time to record "Final Sacrifice" in April 2013.

DEICIDE: 'In The Minds Of Evil Cover Artwork Unveiled
 Florida death metal veterans DEICIDE will release their new album, "In The Minds Of Evil", on November 26 (one day earlier internationally) via Century Media Records. The CD was recorded at AudioHammer Studios in Sanford, Florida with producer Jason Suecof (TRIVIUM, AUGUST BURNS RED, THE BLACK DAHLIA MURDER, ALL THAT REMAINS, WHITECHAPEL, DEVILDRIVER).

The cover artwork (see below) was taken from Australian artist Simon Cowell's painting Power Of The Mind, and offers a fitting face to the album's 11 tracks.
DEICIDE drummer Steve Asheim recently told Decibel magazine about the band's working relationship with Suecof: "It's awesome! I've known Jason since '08. I had been going out to do the ORDER OF ENNEAD records with him. The last DEICIDE record we did with Mark [Lewis], but I've known Jason a long time, so I asked him if he was into it. He said, 'Absolutely!' I wanted to get one done ovith him before something happens. You never know."
Regarding the lyrical themes covered on the new DEICIDE album, Asheim said: "[The lyrics] are typical Glen Benton. Blasphemous, brutal rhetoric. We're going to get down and dirty this Blasphemous, brutal rhetoric. We're going to get down and dirty this time around, so expect the lyrics to be brutal."
According to Asheim, longtime fans will pick up on nuances inspired by the almighty "Legion" effort. "Jason wanted to capture the 'Legion' feel," the drummer said. "We're wanting Glen's vocals to sound more old-school. So, it's a bit of the new with a little throwback action."
As for DEICIDE's time at Audiohammer, Asheim said: "It's pretty cut-and-dried these days. I've known Jason a few years. I kind of know his methodology, how he works. It's a far drive, so we'll spend two or three nights there. Once we knock it out, we'll end up partying. We repeat that the next day."
"To Hell With God" sold 2,200 copies in the United States in its first week of release.
DEICIDE's previous CD, "Till Death Do Us Part", opened with 2,900 copies back in May 2008.

STONE TEMPLE PILOTS: 'Black Heart' Lyric Video Released
 The new version of STONE TEMPLE PILOTS featuring LINKIN PARK's Chester Bennington will release an EP, "High Rise", on October 8 via 13Star Records. The effort will contain five new tracks:

"Out Of Time" reached the No. 1 position on both the Mediabase Active Rock and Mainstream Rock chart last month.
"In terms of style, when the DeLeo brothers [Dean and bassist Robert] get in the studio and start writing, they have a very unique way of putting chords together and structures and the type of chord progressions they put together," Bennington told Fuse News of the writing process in the new STP. "So, in that sense, it's gonna be undeniably the sound of STP — I mean, they're the heart and soul of the band. Naturally, I'm not [former STONE TEMPLE PILOTS singer] Scott [Weiland], so I'm not gonna think of the same melodies, I'm not gonna think of the same lyrical content and such, so in that sense, naturally, there's gonna be a difference in terms of how I interpret what the band puts together musically. I think that's one of the reasons why we're so eager to get the [new STONE TEMPLE PILOTS] EP out, because we want people to hear the new direction and feel the vibe of the new music. Because there's definitely a vibe in that EP that is fresh and it's new but it still feels very STP."
He added: "When we started writing, the ideas came so fast; every single day, it semed like there was four or five things that we were all bringing in and contributing in terms of new songs. We could have easily spent three more months on this thing and had a full-length record out. There's enough material there for us to do that and start getting into the next one. So in terms of the amount of creativity that's been going on, it's very healthy."
STP fired Scott Weiland in February after reuniting with him in 2010 for a series of tours and one self-titled album. The band had previously been on hiatus since 2002, primarily due to the singer's struggles with drugs and alcohol.
The group sued Weiland in May, accusing him of using the band's name to advance his solo career, while claiming that his poor performances, late arrivals, and addiction struggles harmed the band's career.

DESTRAGE Signs With METAL BLADE RECORDS
 Metal Blade Records has announced the signing of Italian metallers DESTRAGE. The band's new album, "Are You Kidding Me? No.", is complete and is scheduled for an early 2014 release. A trailer for the CD can be seen below.
Plans are currently in motion for videos in support of "Are You Kidding Me? No.", as well as more extensive touring in 2014.
DESTRAGE formed in 2005 and has released two full-length albums so far: "Urban Being" in 2009, and "The King is Fat'N'Old" in 2010. Their animated live shows have taken them on tour all over Europe, and even over to Japan.
DESTRAGE opened for EVERY TIME I DIE and PARKWAY DRIVE this summer, and headlined a variety of Italian festivals, including Machete Fest, Rock In Riot, MAV Festival, and more.

 Norwegian death metal upstarts OBLITERATION will release new album, "Black Death Horizon", on November 12 via Relapse Records. DIGNITY: 'Rebel Empire' Video Released
 Austrian power metal band DIGNITY will release its new album, "Balance Of Power", on October 4 via Fastball Music/Soulfood. The CD introduces the group's new lead singer, Søren Adamsen (CRYSTAL TEARS, ARTILLERY, INMORIA, TWINSPIRITS, STARRATS) from Denmark.

SLAYER's first show in 25 years at the 3,700-capacity Hollywood Palladium in Los Angeles, set for Monday, October 28, has sold out, and a second show has been added for Sunday, October 27. SLAYER — Tom Araya on bass/vocals, guitarist Kerry King, drummer Paul Bostaph, and guitarist Gary Holt, who continues to fill in for the late founding member Jeff Hanneman — will have GOJIRA and 4ARM support on all dates. "Really looking forward to playing a full-blown headline set across North America," said Kerry King. "Haven't done that in a fuck of a long time — must be like seven years — so prepare for the assault of a SLAYER headline tour. We are!" While still recovering from the devastating loss of Hanneman, Araya and King have begun to work on new material and hope to spend some time in the studio prior to this tour.
Bostaph was SLAYER's drummer from 1992 until 2001 and recorded four albums with the band — the gold-certified "Divine Intervention" (1994), the 1996 punk covers album "Undisputed Attitude", "Diabolus In Musica" (1998), "God Hates Us All" (2001) that received a Grammy nomination for "Best Metal Performance", as well as the DVD "War At The Warfield" (2001), also certified gold. In addition to SLAYER, Bostaph has been a member of FORBIDDEN, EXODUS, SYSTEMATIC and TESTAMENT.
Original SLAYER drummer Dave Lombardo sat out the band's Australian tour in February/March due to a contract dispute with the other members of the group. Filling in for him was Jon Dette (TESTAMENT, ANTHRAX).

METALLICA Rocks Yankee Stadium To Honor MARIANO RIVERA; Pro-Shot Video
 METALLICA performed its classic song "Enter Sandman" earlier today (Sunday, September 22) at Yankee Stadium in New York to honor retiring Yankees pitcher Mariano Rivera prior to their game against the San Francisco Giants — who happen to be METALLICA's hometown team.
Rivera, who's calling it quits after nearly two decades with the Yanks, has been coming out of the bullpen to close out games for many years to the tune of METALLICA's "Enter Sandman" playing on the stadium's P.A. system.
According to the Daily News, METALLICA frontman James Hetfield gave a shout-out to Rivera, "This one's for you Mariano," before singing the song's famous first line, "Say your prayers little one..."
METALLICA's amps featured the band's name in the classic Yankees logo font, along with Rivera's number 42 and "Sandman" visible on stage. Hetfield also used a special, pinstriped guitar pick with number 42 on it.

Rivera was presented with a METALLICA gold record by the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame in Cleveland on May 13 for "Enter Sandman".
Said Rivera: "I've got a gold record, brother. Without even singing, I have a gold record."
The presentation was made by Indians team president Mark Shapiro and the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame president Greg Harris.
The pitcher said: "I think it was well done. Whoever thought of the idea of giving me a gold record with the song 'Sandman', it was great. I appreciate that and I know it will have a special place in my house."
"Enter Sandman" was featured as the opening track and lead single from METALLICA's eponymous 1991 album. The song was produced by Bob Rock, and the music was written by Kirk Hammett, Lars Ulrich, and James Hetfield. Vocalist and guitarist Hetfield wrote the lyrics, which deal with the simplest concept of a child's nightmares.
The "Enter Sandman" single was certified gold in the United States for sales in excess of 500,000 copies. Acclaimed by critics, the song is featured on all of METALLICA's live albums and DVDs released after 1991 and has been played live at award ceremonies and benefit concerts. It is considered to be METALLICA's signature song to the general public.
METALLICA's self-titled "black album" has sold more than 16 million copies in the U.S., according to the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA).
METALLICA performed at Yankee Stadium once before, nearly two years ago in September 2011 when the "Big Four" tour with SLAYER, ANTHRAX and MEGADETH stopped there.

MIKKEY DEE Performs With MOTÖRHEAD Tribute Band In Berlin (Video)
 MOTÖRHEAD drummer Mikkey Dee joined the German MOTÖRHEAD tribute band KILMINISTER on stage on September 9 in Berlin, Germany to perform several of MOTÖRHEAD's classic songs. Video footage of his appearance can be seen below.
MOTÖRHEAD has selected "Heartbreaker" as the first single from its upcoming 21st studio album, "Aftershock".
"Aftershock" will be released as a an official Classic Rock collectors fanpack that features the new LP in full plus a 132-page magazine that forms the "ultimate sleevenotes" to the new release, with extensive and exclusive interviews with Lemmy, Mikkey Dee and Phil Campbell.
Due in North America on October 22, "Aftershock" was recorded at NRG Studios in North Hollywood, California and is described in a press release as "a true leveler, a crushing confirmation of everything MOTÖRHEAD stands for, marching from the dust storm to deliver 14 belting statements which see MOTÖRHEAD in perhaps their best writing form for years."
MOTÖRHEAD canceled a handful of shows on its European festival tour last month after Lemmy suffered a haematoma (where blood collects outside of a blood vessel). The news of Lemmy's latest medical issue followed reports that he was also recently fitted with a defibrillator because of heart problems.

NECROPHOBIC Frontman's Prison Sentence Reduced
 A Swedish appeals court has reduced the prison sentence for NECROPHOBIC vocalist Tobias Sidegård, who was accused of beating his wife multiple times between September 2011 and April 2013.
Sidegård was originally sentenced to 18 months in prison for "gross violation of a woman's integrity," and offense that was first introduced into the Penal Code in 1998 dealing with repeated punishable acts directed by men against women who have or have had a close relationship with the perpetrator.
This past Friday (September 20), the Svea appeals court found Sidegård guilty of simple assault — a less serious offense than "gross violation of a woman's integrity" — and reduced his prison sentence to six months. The musician was also ordered to pay his wife 16,000 Swedish kronor (approximately $2,500) in damages plus interest.
In addition to allegations of violence against his wife, Sidegård was suspected of physically abusing his daughters with a homemade bullwhip.

Sidegård previously denied all charges through his attorney, claiming that the injuries suffered by Tobias' wife that were described in the indictment occurred in "other ways" than through physical abuse perpetrated by the musician.
Tobias sent an e-mail to the Metal Insider and MetalSucks web sites earier in the month insisting that he was "set free after second appeal in higher court." "I've been fucking innocently accused and never hit a woman in my life," he wrote.
The other members of NECROPHOBIC released a statement two weeks ago in which they declined to comment on the allegations against their singer — pointing out that the legal process was still "ongoing" — but stressed that they did "not condone domestic violence."
