FIREWIND Singer's DARKOLOGY To Release 'Fated To Burn'
DARKOLOGY, the Texas-based band featuring guitarist Michael Harris (VITALIJ KUPRIJ), drummer Brian Harris (ex-FIREWIND), bassist Mike Neal and vocalist Kelly "Sundown" Carpenter (FIREWIND, BEYOND TWILIGHT, OUTWORLD), will release its sophomore album, "Fated To Burn", in late 2013 or early 2014 through Prime Eon Media. The CD was mixed and mastered by legendary producer Chris Tsangarides (JUDAS PRIEST, ANVIL, THIN LIZZY) at his studio in the U.K. Songtitles set to appear on the CD include "Eyes Of The Machine", "Quantum Genocide", "On Morrow's Break", "Nobot 2" and "Your Hollow Soul".
Says the band: "This is album is a tribute to the old-school and it's our hope that what we've done here will remind the listener why they got into metal in the first place."
The amazing Harris brothers have again put their indelible stamp on these songs. Michael, arguably one of the best guitarists in metal and beyond, brings the killer riffs, solos and big atmosphere as Brian, his younger brother, punishes the skins like there's no tomorrow.
Finally, the always dynamic and melodic Mike Neal has not only played some mean bass and done a lot of backing vocals but has also written most of the lyrics on this album, proving this to be a total group effort.
Rainer Kalwitz, the illustrator for such bands as SHADOW GALLERY and PRAYING MANTIS, has provided DARKOLOGY with an eye-catching and very fitting cover painting.
The "Fated To Burn" title track can be streamed in the YouTube clip below.
"Altered Reflections" was released in November 2009 via Rockaholics Records.
According to a press release, DARKOLOGY's music features "ultra-tight, technical playing that serves the songs just right and remains transparent. The rhythm section just grooves wildly and delivers some impressive battery. And towering above all else, Sundown just redefines the term 'metal singer.' With some 15 different vocal styles, ranging from whispers to delirious screams and wails, he's as theatrical as they come. Imagine a guy with Ripper Owens' or Rob Halford's ra(n)ge, Jon Oliva's wickedness and Midnight's madness! Then multiply!"

ARTILLERY To Release 'Legions' In November
Danish thrash metal veterans ARTILLERY will release their new album, "Legions", in Europe on November 22 via Metal Blade Records. Songtitles set to appear on the CD include "Chill My Bones", "God Feather", "Legions", "Wardrum Heartbeat", "Global Flatline" and "Anno Requiem". The digipack version of the album will include two bonus tracks: re-recorded versions of songs that originally appeared on ARTILLERY's 1985 debut, "Fear Of Tomorrow".
In a recent interview with StageReport.ro, ARTILLERY guitarist Michael Stützer stated about the upcoming CD: "I personally think it's the best production we ever had on a ARTILLERY album. It's very raw and heavy."
He continued: "Our new drummer, Josua [Madsen] and new vocalist, Michael [Bastholm Dahl], really deliver the goods on this album, Josua is an amazing drummer and real nice guy and Michael is the singer in ARTILLERY who is the closest ever to [original ARTLLERY vocalist] Flemming Ronsdorf beside putting a lot of new elements in the band because of his vocal range. He is also writing some great lyrics. So this band is a very complete unit."
Regarding what qualities they were looking for in a singer following last year's departure of Søren Adamsen, Michael said: "You will never hear ARTILLERY with a growler or a pop singer, but sung vocals with melody and rawness at the same time. Actually, we headhunted Michael from a cover band who played MERCYFUL FATE / KING DIAMOND covers, so we knew he could sing the old ARTILLERY songs very good."
ARTILLERY 2013 is: Michael Bastholm Dahl - VocalsMichael Stützer - GuitarMorten Stützer - GuitarPeter Thorslund - BassJosua Madsen - Drums

WINTERSUN Quality Video Footage Of San Francisco Concert
CapitalChaosTV.com has uploaded quality video footage of Finnish epic metallers WINTERSUN performing the song "Death And The Healing" on August 5 at DNA Lounge in San Franciscso, California. You can check it out below.
After several sold-out shows last year on their inaugural North American co-headlining tour with ELUVEITIE, WINTERSUN has returned to North American shores once again for a headlining tour this August/September. Joining them are Italian symphonic death metal champions FLESHGOD APOCALYPSE, melodic tech-death kings ARSIS and up-and-comers STARKILL.
Prior to embarking on the current trek, WINTERSUN said in a statement: "We're thrilled to return to North America for a full-scale headliner tour in August and September! It will be our first longer own headlining tour ever and this time, without any setlist length limitations, we'll be able to offer the North American crowds a special show — representing both the 'Wintersun' and 'Time I' albums. There might also be some surprises in the setlist as well... We are really looking forward to sharing the live magic with YOU, all the fans out there!"
WINTERSUN's "Time I" was nominated in the "Metal Album Of The Year" category at this year's Emma Gaala (Finnish Grammy equivalent), which was held on March 1 at Barona Areena in Espoo, Finland.
"Time I" sold nearly 4,000 copies in its first week of release in the United States to land at position No. 109 on The Billboard 200 chart.

Video: Ex-SEPULTURA Drummer IGOR CAVALERA Performs 'Arise' With SOULFLY
Former SEPULTURA drummer Igor Cavalera joined SOULFLY, the band led by his brother, and fellow ex-SEPULTURA member, Max Cavalera, on stage on August 25 at Carioca Club in São Paulo, Brazil to perform the classic SEPULTURA song "Arise". Fan-filmed video footage of Igor's appearance can be seen below.
In 1996, Max exited SEPULTURA after the rest of the band fired Max's wife Gloria as their manager.
Igor left SEPULTURA in June 2006 due to "artistic differences." His departure from the band came five months after he announced that he was taking a break from SEPULTURA's touring activities to spend time with his second wife and their new son (who was born in January 2006).
After Max exited SEPULTURA, there was a rift between him and Igor, one that was eventually repaired through the redemptive power of music. Some time had passed and Max and Igor were unable to resist the musical pull in their magnetic fields and their musical collaboration was renewed. The duo are back for round two with CAVALERA CONSPIRACY, which released its debut album, "Inflikted", in March 2008 and follow-up effort, Blunt Force Trauma", in March 2011.
Max and Igor played together for the first time in 10 years at the 10th annual D-Low Memorial Festival on August 17, 2006 at the Marquee Theatre in Tempe, Arizona.

BATTLE BEAST: Fan-Filmed Footage Of QSTOCK Performance
Fan-filmed video footage of BATTLE BEAST's July 26 performance at Qstock at Kuusisaari in Oulu, Finland can be seen below.
The self-titled sophomore album from BATTLE BEAST entered the official chart in the band's home country at position No. 5. Released in Europe on May 17 via Nuclear Blast Records, the CD was produced and mixed by the band at JKB Studios in Helsinki and mastered by Mika Jussila at Finnvox Studios. The cover artwork was created by Claudio Bergamin (HALFORD, ARJEN A. LUCASSEN, MAGICA).
BATTLE BEAST last fall parted ways with lead singer Nitte Vänskä and replaced her with Noora Louhimo.
In an interview with Metal Divas, Noora explained how she ended up fronting BATTLE BEAST: "Last September (2012), I got a call from Anton [Kabanen, guitar] that they want me to join BATTLE BEAST. I had heard their music and loved the sound and the vocals, so the next day I called Anton and said I'm in.
"Anton found me by accident on YouTube when he was searching for the new vocalist. He had been looking for a vocalist — male or female; [it did not] matter. The only thing that mattered was can that [he or she could] sing his songs without compromises.
"I've been singing since I was 4 years old. While being a huge fan of heavy metal of '80s and a teenager, I had some classical singing lessons when I was 16 years old. Then at the age of 19, I started studying music in pop/jazz line. At the same time, I started doing some jam sessions at bars. There I found my first band (ADMIRAL OCTOPUS) in the blues bar. We used to play rock and blues music from '60s-'70s and Janis Joplin was the reason I got the rasp in my voice. After ADMIRAL OCTOPUS, in 2011, I took part in a singing competition ('Wanna Be A Rock 'N' Roll Star') at Henry's Pub of Tampere and won it with Janis Joplin's 'Piece Of My Heart'. That's how my single 'Relax' was born."
BATTLE BEAST's debut album, "Steel" — which was originally released in Finland in 2011 via Hype Records — was made available internationally on January 27, 2012 through Nuclear Blast Records.

DYING FETUS: Quality Fan-Filmed Footage Of Montreal Concert
Quality fan-filmed video footage of DYING FETUS' August 25 performance at Foufounes Électriques in Montreal, Quebec, Canada can be seen below.
DYING FETUS' latest album, "Reign Supreme", sold around 3,000 copies in the United States in its first week of release to debut at position No. 186 on The Billboard 200 chart. The CD landed at position No. 5 on the Top New Artist Albums (Heatseekers) chart, which lists the best-selling albums by new and developing artists, defined as those who have never appeared in the Top 100 of The Billboard 200.
DYING FETUS's previous collection of original material, "Descend Into Depravity", opened with around 2,700 units to land at No. 166.
Released on June 19, 2012 via Relapse Records, "Reign Supreme" was recorded at Wrightway Studios in Baltimore with longtime producer Steve Wright (SLIPKNOT, MISERY INDEX). It will feature nine tracks and is "a 'return to roots,' with production focused slightly more on slam than in the band's last few works," according to a press release. "Thematically, the album is set to be a good old-fashioned piece of social and political commentary in the style of DYING FETUS as we have come to know."
Commented DYING FETUS guitarist/vocalist John Gallagher: "The last album had some groove in it, but [it] was basically a lot of tech; this one is a return to form of older DYING FETUS albums, so to speak — more modern production, though, of course. Everything's tight, the sound is crushing, the drums are amazing."

PASADENA NAPALM DIVISION: '100 Beers With A Zombie' Video Released
"100 Beers With A Zombie", the new video from PASADENA NAPALM DIVISION, the Houston, Texas-based thrash metal outfit that features D.R.I. singer Kurt Brecht and members of DEAD HORSE, can be seen below. The song comes off PASADENA NAPALM DIVISION's self-titled debut, which was released on April 9 via Minus Head Records. The 13-song CD was recorded at the Music Lab in Austin and features guest vocals from Tony Foresta (MUNICIPAL WASTE) and Argo (DEAD HORSE). "Fans of D.R.I. and DEAD HORSE will rejoice. PASADENA NAPALM DIVISION is what thrash metal should sound like in 2013," said Brecht.
"Working together with some of the members of Texas based cult band DEAD HORSE, we have come up with some hard-hitting tunes that span genres and will withstand the test of time."
Brecht asked Foresta in 2011 if he would consider helping out on the PASADENA NAPALM DIVISION CD. There was also talk of Brecht making a guest appearance on an upcoming release from Tony's side project IRON REAGAN.
"I had one tune on the album that I was really having problems with," said Brecht. "I was not happy with my lyrics or the delivery on the studio recording. I knew the song deserved better. Tony wrote new words and changed the phrasing to really save the day." PASADENA NAPALM DIVISION is:

Swedish hard rockers BONAFIDE will release their fourth studio album, Bombo, on September 2nd.

Bombo, a Pulp Fiction style tale of rock´n´roll debauchery over 10 chapters, sees the band return to the in your face, crotch kicking sound of their first three albums. Bombo is Bonafide's fourth full length album, and the third to be produced by singer/frontman and main songwriter Pontus Snibb and will be released worldwide via Off Yer Rocka Recordings.

KIUAS IS DEAD, LONG LIVE KIUAS
After a long careful consideration and looking at all possible options, we, Kiuas, have decided it is time to put this band to its final rest.
After four amazing albums, tours and festivals in Finland and around the world and amazing times togeher, we find ourselves in a situation where we can’t see ourselves evolving anymore as Kiuas and thus believe it is best for all past and present members and partners in crime to lay the name Kiuas to its grave.
We will not stop making music, not ever, either together or separately, but Kiuas is as of today dead and our visions and plans are to be built on new fresh soil.
To make sure we go down to our everlasing sleep in honor, Kiuas will play one more show, gathering together the history of the band and all its past members, united once more, in Helsinki’s Nosturi on October 18th.
A funeral to remember.
Thanks to everyone who's supported us through the years! You'll be hearing from our future moves through this site and/or social media...Palvokaa UKKOA!!!

METALLICA: Official Video Recap Of Seoul Concert
Official MetOnTour.com video recap of METALLICA's August 18 performance at CITYBREAK @ Olympic Park in Seoul, South Korea can be seen below.
The band's setlist was as follows:
01. Hit The Lights02. Master Of Puppets03. Holier Than Thou04. Ride The Lightning05. Fade To Black06. The Memory Remains07. Cyanide08. Welcome Home (Sanitarium)09. Sad But True10. ...And Justice For All11. One12. For Whom The Bell Tolls13. Blackened14. Nothing Else Matters15. Enter Sandman
Encore:
16. Creeping Death17. Fight Fire with Fire18. Seek & Destroy
The members of METALLICA gave a press conference last week in Singapore, just before the band's first-ever concert in China, where they were asked how they deal with the physical demands of touring after 30 years. Lead guitarist Kirk Hammett said, "I do a lot of yoga. We're all pretty physical. [Bassist Robert Trujillo] and I like to surf. We just got off a week-long stint in Bali, surfing a lot. You know, it's important to keep maintenance on the road — eat well, sleep well, and just make sure the engine inside is running well. It's really important. 'Cause the last thing I wanna do is drop on stage." Drummer Lars Ulrich added, "We have two guys downstairs who take care of stretching us and putting us back into shape — our necks and our arms and everything. They're among the two hardest-working guys in rock and roll. So we take all that stuff really seriously. I mean, if you could see our [tour] rider, it's carrots and strange vegetables and nasty fruit juices. It's not what it was back in the day, thankfully. But yeah, we do take [staying healthy]very seriously. Absolutely."
Ulrich told The Pulse Of Radio a while back that his main concern about getting older as a musician was whether aging and other issues could eventually take their toll on him. "The thing that just freaks me out is I just don't know physically," he said. "'Jumping Jack Flash' and 'Satisfaction' — sure, I can probably play those when I'm 65. Playing 'Fight Fire With Fire' and 'Dyer's Eve' — I don't know. It's the unknown. I just don't know. And if it becomes a joke, or if it becomes just not physically possible to do, then hopefully we'll have the sense to bow out gracefully."
Frontman James Hetfield told the press in Singapore, "We'll do this until we don't wanna do it anymore; it's as simple as that. There's no use doing something your heart is not in. But for us, we love what we do and we're blessed that way."
METALLICA's next stop is Toronto in early September for the premiere of the band's new film, "Metallica Through The Never".
The 3D IMAX movie will make its world premiere on Monday, September 9 at the festival before opening on September 27 at IMAX theaters and expanding onto additional screens on October 4.
METALLICA will also play a special show at the Apollo Theater in New York City on September 21 to promote the release of the film.

MEGADETH Performs 'She-Wolf' Acoustically In New York City (Video)
MEGADETH performed a short acoustic set on August 7 in front of a select group of fans at VEVO studios in New York City. The band played the following three tracks:
* Symphony Of Destruction* Kingmaker* She-Wolf
Video footage of the "She-Wolf" performance can be seen below.
Check out a review of the session at NY Hard Rock Music Examiner. Photos are available at this location.
MEGADETH has just completed a headlining run at this year's edition of Gigantour, the critically acclaimed package festival founded in 2005 by Dave Mustaine.
In addition to MEGADETH, this year's installment of Gigantour featured BLACK LABEL SOCIETY, DEVICE, HELLYEAH, NEWSTED and DEATH DIVISION.
MEGADETH's latest album, "Super Collider", has sold 64,000 copies in the United States since its June 4 release. The CD arrived in stores via Mustaine's new label, Tradecraft, distributed by Universal Music Enterprises (UMe). It marks MEGADETH's first release since the band's split with Roadrunner Records.
MEGADETH filmed a video for the "Super Collider" title track on May 10 in the Los Angeles area. California-based model, actress, singer and songwriter Hunter Elizabeth was cast in the lead role in the clip, which she says is "about a high-school couple still loving each other after all the years after graduation, and at the 10-year reunion, both characters find themselves successful (a model and a mathematician) and still very in love."
"That song kind of came from that 'Symphony Of Destruction' corner of my mind," Mustaine told Guitar World magazine. "You can't always play aggressive, thrashy stuff. Sometimes those aren't even songs; they're like musical rams. But because I'm not a pop guy, I'm also not really comfortable playing sing-along songs. To me, 'Super Collider' made sense like a normal song — a verse-chorus-verse-chorus kind of thing. It's written the way a real songwriter would write the song, instead of just taking all these musical twists and turns."

PAMELA MOORE: 'Acquiescent' Video Released
"Acquiescent", the new video from female vocalist Pamela Moore, who is best known for her performance as Sister Mary on QUEENSRŸCHE's 1988 epic release "Operation: Mindcrime" and 2006's sequel "Operation: Mindcrime II", can be seen below
Pamela Moore's new album, "Resurrect Me", was released on May 14 via Rat Pak Records.
"Resurrect Me" is described in a press release as "an album written in timeless fashion that explores a creative landscape missed by the music industry. [It] is a masterpiece in collaborative effort showcasing powerful, yet intimate vocal imagery, paired with monstrous power metal grooves, and uncompromising musicianship. The album explores the compelling, the infectious and the dramatic. It connects with the listener on a personal level from the first listen."
"Resurrect Me" is collaboration between Moore and Michael Posch, one of Chicago's favorite power metal guitar players who made noise as a founding member of Century Media artists RADAKKA, and was hand-picked by Moore while living in Chicago. While doing shows with the Pamela Moore band, discussions about the direction of Pamela's next work were tossed about. As discussions continued, so many of the traits and concepts were so purely engrained in Posch's own style, it seemed a divine movement was at hand. Early demo work showed a collective vision and energy that was impossible to ignore.
Even after deciding to return to Seattle as a permanent base, and what seemed to be the end of a chapter, Moore requested to continue focus work with Posch, in hopes of letting the addictive collection of songs continue to develop. Both were reluctant to close the book on the collective focus that was manifesting. Magic was being made and something pushed the pair onward. The album survived location changes, loss of financial support due to the economic times, personal highs and lows, and sheer distance… to finally overcome... and achieve a polish, and brightness, that goes beyond any hardship endured in the crafting … and the character that was built thru the labor, is deeply present in the recordings.
"Resurrect Me" represents a power metal album that will ring in your head for days after listening. Song after song take you down paths of atmospheric, dark, but passionate and blood pumping metal. It's sure to satisfy Moore's QUEENSRŸCHE contingent of fans, but this moves beyond.. into a level of energy all its own. It even boasts a heavyweight guest list, including a solo from shred royalty Jeff Loomis (ex-NEVERMORE) and a duet with master vocalist Ralf Scheepers (PRIMAL FEAR, GAMMA RAY).
"Resurrect Me" track listing:
01. Acquiescent02. Melt Into You03. Paranoia04. We Are Damaged05. Resurrect Me06. The Sky Is Falling07. Awakening 08. Breaking Down09. Desperate By Design10. Wide Awake (Phoenix Rising)

SCAR THE MARTYR is currently on the road as the support act for DANZIG on a North American tour which also includes performances by former MISFITS guitarist Doyle Wolfgang Von Frankenstein and HUNTRESS. The trek kicked off August 9 at Sound Academy in Toronto, Ontario, Canada and will wrap up on August 31 at Tempe, Arizona's Marquee Theatre.
In addition to Jordison, SCAR THE MARTYR's lineup for the tour features singer Henry Derek Bonner (BLOOD PROMISE), guitarists Jed Simon (STRAPPING YOUNG LAD) and Kris Norris (DARKEST HOUR), keyboardist Joey Blush and bassist Kyle Konkiel (IN THIS MOMENT).
"With this project, I focused my efforts on writing for the better of the song," says Jordison. "I wasn't worried about flash or persona... It's all about writing a good solid song. I'm writing music that people can grasp and hold on to...something that resonates. If you don't have that, then you have nothing."
"I'd been working on new SLIPKNOT material since the end of the 'All Hope Is Gone' tour cycle, but I ended up with so much stuff I had to take a step back and stop working on it," he explained to Metal Hammer magazine. "The time wasn't right. But I came up with a bunch of material that was really killer and heavy and started taking some of it in a different direction. I started focusing on a lot of the post-punk and industrial stuff that I've always loved and started putting super heavy and brutal guitars over the top of it. That's how it started. It's taken me a couple of years to get to this point, but I can honestly say this is the most satisfied I've ever been in the studio. I can't wait for everyone to hear this shit."

OVERKILL To Enter Studio On Monday
New Jersey thrash metal veterans OVERKILL will enter the studio on Monday, September 2 to begin recording their next album for a March 2014 release. The CD will be tracked at Gear Recording and mixed by Greg Reely, who also worked on "The Electric Age".
In a recent interview with Radiosuicide Photography's RSPTV, OVERKILL vocalist Bobby "Blitz" Ellsworth stated about the band's plans for the coming months: "There's six songs done [for the next record so far]. What we're gonna do in the interim is we're gonna come over while recording and do European festivals. After that, we do a U.S. tour with the German band called KREATOR. It's gonna be a flip-flop headline; we'll close the shows on the East Coast in those theaters and they'll close on the West Coast in theaters, or big clubs. After that, we drop the record in March, it hits the street. They even gave me the date as March 7 already, so we're that far planned ahead for those type of activities. And after that, I'm sure that what we're gonna do is just start rolling these tours again. And I think that as we've gotten older, one of the things that we like is that we actually do more tours, but we do less touring; we're not away from home for three months or sixty days, we're away from home for three or four weeks. Three weeks is a great tour for a guy my age. Because then you don't have to recover for a month when you come home. [laughs]"
As previously reported, OVERKILL released a very special limited tour edition of its latest album, "The Electric Age", in Europe on April 19 via Nuclear Blast Records. The limited 2CD tour edition includes the regular album as well as a four additional live tracks on a bonus CD, recorded at The Metro in Sidney, Australia on September 25, 2010.
"The Electric Age" sold 6,500 copies in the United States in its first week of release to debut at position No. 77 on The Billboard 200 chart.
"The Electric Age" was recorded and mixed at Gear Recording Studios in New Jersey, owned and operated by OVERKILL bassist D.D. Verni.
To honor and celebrate Record Store Day on April 20, Nuclear Blast and OVERKILL released a limited-edition 10-inch copper-colored vinyl in gatefold containing four live tracks recorded at The Metro in Sidney, Australia on September 25, 2010.
OVERKILL was forced to drop off the "Dark Roots Of Thrash" tour with TESTAMENT in February due to Ellsworth's bout with pneumonia.

METALLICA: Official Video Recap Of First Shanghai Concert
METALLICA played for the first time ever in China earlier this month, doing two sold-out shows at the Mercedes-Benz Arena in Shanghai on August 13 and August 14. The first night sold out in record time and faster than any other Western act that has played the country before.
Official video recap of the first Shaghai show — featuring footage of bassist Robert Trujillo in the meet-and-greet, tuning-room jam and the "Fade To Black" performance from the concert — can be seen below.
Following are excerpts from METALLICA's August 14 press conference in China (courtesy of Time Out Shanghai).
On filming a documentary in China:
Lars Ulrich (drums): New experiences bring opportunities for new collaborations and new creative endeavours — it's that simple. Being here in this wonderful country and feeling the energy and excitement, the idea came up to celebrate it and to try to document it and to try to get the experience out. As you know, there are a lot of you, and there may be 20,000 of you who came to this arena yesterday and today, so we figured that if we filmed and shared the experience then maybe we could get to more of you and maybe there could be a next-level relationship between METALLICA and China that could last for decades. The idea came up fairly last minute and we love creative endeavours where we make it up as we go along. There's an impulsive energy that comes with that that can be very beautiful and kind of cool and the last few weeks this idea came together of filming here and maybe bringing some local bands into it and bringing some actors in and maybe some way bridging this into the 'Through The Never' movie that we made in the United States. We are making this up as we go along, but it's all being documented — everything we do is always documented — so we're excited about that and we think that there is something cool that will come out of it. Whatever that is, we're not quite sure yet, but we'll do our best to make it shareable and worth everybody's while."
On interaction with Chinese fans:
Ulrich: "We've been doing meet-and-greets and the interactions with the fans have been very emotionally engaged; they're very appreciative and thankful that we're here. Obviously there is a language barrier. What we try to do, we try to loosen the moment with banter and so on and some of that doesn't seem to translate when there's language issues or whatever, but you can feel that there is a passion and that there's been a longing for this moment that is really special. Most of the time, the communication just comes from the audience when you're up on stage. You sense what's going on and what's coming back at you. People all over the world have different ways of expressing and you sort of learn that there is a correlation between the way people express themselves in different cultures to what they throw at you in gigs. In Italy, they're very much like passionate southern Europeans, in Latin America this happens, and in certain Nordic countries, they're a little more conservative. You learn those patterns along the way, but you could obviously sense that this moment had been a long time coming."
On piracy and bootlegged METALLICA goods being sold in China:
Ulrich: "The one thing increasingly that we focus our energies on is trying to discern between what we can control and what we can't control. Increasingly, getting wound up and spending a lot of time on things that you can't control, it's just... I'd rather FaceTime with my kids or do something else. It is what it is. And that's a whole separate conversation about Chinese copyright issues, which maybe is not the time to do now. You can't control that, so you just turn a blind side to it as best you can."
METALLICA is teaming up with SiriusXM radio to bring back the Mandatory Metallica channel and will celebrate with a special show at Harlem's world-famous Apollo Theater in New York City on September 21 that will air live nationwide.
The only other international live date on METALLICA's schedule for the rest of 2013 is September 19 in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
Next up for METALLICA is the release of the band's 3D movie, "Metallica Through The Never", which arrives in limited release on September 27 before expanding its run on October 4. A soundtrack album arrives on September 24.
The movie is part concert film and part fictional narrative, with the latter centering on a roadie played by Dane DeHaan who must go on a mysterious mission for the band during the course of a live performance.
