KREATOR: 'Death To The World' Performance Clip From 'Dying Alive' DVD
 "Dying Alive", the new concert DVD/Blu-ray from German thrash metal veterans KREATOR, will be released on August 30 via Nuclear Blast. The set features the band's sold-out homecoming show in Oberhausen, Germany on December 22, 2012 after an extensive 45-day European tour in support of KREATOR's "Phantom Antichrist" album. The packed and sweat-driven show was filmed by 24 cameras, as well as guitar and even mosh-pit cams.
The DVD/Blu-ray contains footage of the Oberhausen concert, a behind-the-scenes documentary as well as video clips. Approximate total running time: 115 minutes.
The exclusive theatrical premiere of "Dying Alive" will take place on August 29 at the renowned theater Lichtburg in KREATOR's hometown of Essen, Germany starting at 8 p.m. CET. KREATOR mainman Mille Petrozza will be present at the event and will be available for a question-and-answer session after the screening. A signing session is planned as well. Tickets can be purchased at www.lichtburg-essen.de.

KREATOR will tour North America this fall with fellow thrashers OVERKILL.
On November 9, 2012, KREATOR released a new seven-inch single, "Civilization Collapse" (retail version: black; Nuclear Blast mailorder-only version: red, yellow, white) and as a digital download. The single contains the title cut backed by the non-album track "Wolfchild", which was featured on the "Dark Symphonies - A Tribute To John Sinclair" album, released in September 2012 in Germany via Lübbe-Audio. The band also made a video for the song "Civilization Collapse", which is said to be "mainly about the riots that took place in Greece most recently."
"Civilization Collapse" comes off KREATOR's new album, "Phantom Antichrist", which sold 3,900 copies in the United States in its first week of release. The CD landed at No. 1 on the Top New Artist Albums (Heatseekers) chart, which lists the best-selling albums by new and developing artists, defined as those who have never appeared in the Top 100 of The Billboard 200.

SABATON: 'Ghost Division' Performance Clip From 'Swedish Empire Live' DVD
 Swedish metallers SABATON will release their new DVD and Blu-ray, "Swedish Empire Live", on September 20 via Nuclear Blast. The disc features the band's live performance at the renowned Polish Woodstock Festival in 2012, where over half a million fans had gathered to watch SABATON in action. Besides this main feature, the first-ever SABATON live offering also features even more live footage of the band's performances in Gothenburg, London and Oberhausen on their extensive "Swedish Empire Tour".

SABATON's latest album, "Carolus Rex", was recently certified gold in Poland for sales in excess of 10,000 copies. The band was presented with gold plaques during their signing session in Warsaw. The CD was also certified gold in Sweden for sales in excess of 20,000 copies. (Note: The International Federation of the Phonographic Industry [IFPI] in Sweden has revised the sales requirements for albums to reach gold status in the country twice in the last 11 years — from the pre-2002 level of 40,000 to the current 20,000.)
"Carolus Rex" was released on May 22, 2012 via Nuclear Blast Records. The lyrics for the CD, which was made available in both English and Swedish, deal with the Swedish Empire (referring to the Kingdom of Sweden between 1561 and 1721).
SABATON last year parted ways with guitarists Oskar Montelius and Rikard Sundén, drummer Daniel Mulback and keyboardist Daniel Mÿhr.

LECHEROUS NOCTURNE: 'Ouroboros Chains' Video Released
 "Ouroboros Chains", the new video from South Carolina-based extreme metallers LECHEROUS NOCTURNE, can be seen below. The track comes off the group's third album, "Behold Almighty Doctrine", which was released on March 19 via Unique Leader Records. The CD was recorded at SoundLab Studio in Lexington, South Carolina with longtime engineer Bob Moore.
In a recent interview with Xplosive Metal, LECHEROUS NOCTURNE bassist James O'Neil stated about the making of "Behold Almighty Doctrine": "The recording went very well. We recorded with Bob Moore at Soundlab in Columbia, South Carolina over the course of one week in December 2011. Bob is a great guy and very easy to work with. A true master of his craft. The vocals were originally recorded by Brett Bently, whom myself and Ethan had known for years. We went on tour with DEICIDE, JUNGLE ROT and ABIGAIL WILLIAMS in March of 2012. After parting ways with the band during the tour, it was immediately decided that the vocals would be re-recorded. After searching for a vocalist for some time, we decided to get Chris Lollis. Chris is an original member of LECHEROUS NOCTURNE and handled guitar on the previous albums (self-titled EP, 'Admiration Of The Blade' and 'The Age Of Miracles Has Passed'). He also played bass and handled vocal duties for NILE. Chris has a very powerful vocal style and stage presence that matches the ferocity of our music. But his vocals are at the same time clear and legible."
Regarding the musical direction of "Behold Almighty Doctrine", O'Neil said: "The style of music we play is not easily absorbed in a single listen. I have read reviews of this album where our music is described as confusing. Saying the riffs are crowded together into a nonsensical mess. The way we write is not your typical this riff four times, that riff four times, breakdown, repeat. It challenges the listener to pay attention to the detail of the music itself. Regardless of how many times the album is listened to, something different is noticed every time. In retrospect, like a film that you may have seen hundreds of times but you always notice something different every time you watch it."

LORD DYING: 'Dreams Of Mercy' Video Released
 "Dreams Of Mercy", the new video from Portland, Oregon's LORD DYING, can be seen below. The clip was shot by Whitey McConnaughy, who has previously worked with RED FANG.
"Dreams Of Mercy" comes off LORD DYING's debut album, "Summon The Faithless", which was released in July via Relapse Records.
In a time where everyone is trying to out-sludge or out-doom each other, LORD DYING gives something less than a fuck. They are a metal band with members of BLACK ELK , PORTALS, LE FORCE, and CREMAINS, who in their short time as a band have shared the stage with RED FANG, DOWN, UNSANE, YOB, VALIENT THORR, GHOST and many others.
After a quick break from touring the U.S. with labelmates HOWL, LORD DYING will return to the road with VALIENT THORR and RAMMING SPEED. IN SOLITUDE To Release 'Sister' Album In October
 Sweden's IN SOLITUDE will release its third album, "Sister", on October 1 in North America via Metal Blade Records. The CD was recorded this past March at Studio Cobra in Stockholm, Sweden and was produced and mixed by Martin "Konie" Ehrencrona. It stands as a logical next step above and beyond its predecessor, "The World.The Flesh.The Devil."
IN SOLITUDE's strength resides in its ability to craft dark and oppressive atmospheres within the auditory realm of classic heavy metal. "Sister" compounds this trademark sound further, beginning with the acoustic intro, "He Comes", and saturates the record in an aura of uniqueness; see "Lavender" and the title track. The album concludes with an eight-minute, driving, near trance-like opus that features guest guitarist Pelle Forsberg (WATAIN). Additionally, Jarboe of SWANS fame can be heard on "Horses In The Ground". Moods range from MERCYFUL FATE-esque guitar flavors, shadows of BLACK SABBATH, the heavy dissonance of SWANS, to straight-forward, ear worm riffs. In any case, one thing can be said for certain: their delivery is as genuine as it is impressive.

This is a feeling that has permeated our whole lives during the latest year of writing and recording this album, as well as digesting and dealing with its consequences.  Swedish melodic death metallers DARK TRANQUILLITY have issued the following update:
"As most of you know, we're hard at work preparing the live set for the upcoming 'Construct' touring cycle. Spirits are high and we're confident that we have a lot of very special shows ahead of us. Those of you located on the North American continent will be pleased to know that we'll announce some good news tomorrow.
"On another note: Those of you who have seen us play this year might have noticed that we haven't had a bass player on stage.
"'Construct' was written and recorded as a five-piece, and since the band chemistry is at an all-time high and we've never been the ones to shy away from new creative solutions, we wanted to try out playing with the bass on a backing track as opposed to bringing more flesh and blood to the fold. Much to our delight, the results have been great, and we have decided for now to let the band be represented on stage by the five people who have spent a total of more than 100 years in the service of DARK TRANQUILLITY."

WEDNESDAY 13 Editing 'Scream Britain Scream' Concert DVD
 Former MURDERDOLLS frontman Wednesday 13 is editing his new concert DVD, "Scream Britain Scream", for an early 2014 release. The set will feature performance, backstage, and up-close-and-personal footage from Wednesday 13's March 2013 U.K. tour and the 2012 London Halloween concert. Wednesday 13 commented: "This DVD will be the ultimate backstage pass for any Wednesday 13 fan. We filmed every single second of the March U.K. tour. I want this DVD to show what we do, and how we do it... the good, the bad, and the ugly."

DAVE MUSTAINE's Daughter Performs MEGADETH's 'A Tout Le Monde'; Video Available
 According to King5.com, Electra Mustaine, the daughter of MEGADETH mainman Dave Mustaine, and Jason Kertson, the grandson of Rob Lind, a member of THE SONICS, a Seattle-area band that helped shaped the punk rock music sound in the '60s, have teamed up for a special concert to benefit Operation Ward 57, a non-profit organization that helps wounded servicemembers and their families.
Electra and Jason performed their version of the MEGADETH song "A Tout Le Monde" on King 5 TV's "New Day" with Margaret Larson, then joined Margaret to talk about their families' respective musical legacies and why it's important for them to respect and support the military. Brittney Hamilton, founder of Operation Ward 57, shared more about the work the group does and praised Electra, Jason and other young people who take such an active role to salute and support the military.
Electra and Jason will perform this Thursday, August 22 with local band LADY JUSTICE at Louie G's in Fife, Washington. The show begins at 7:00 pm and tickets are $5 (suggested donation) at the door.

WATAIN: Entire 'The Wild Hunt' Album Available For Streaming
 "The Wild Hunt", the new album from Swedish black metallers WATAIN, is available for streaming in its entirety in the YouTube clip below. The CD will be released on August 19 in Europe and August 20 in USA via the band's own label His Master's Noise through Century Media Records.
Produced once again by Tore Stjerna at his Necromorbus studio in Alvik, Sweden, "The Wild Hunt" is a sonic and lyrical tour-de-force that explores WATAIN's roots, such as BATHORY and DISSECTION, while also remaining truly unique. Having lost none of their integrity, WATAIN continues to push the boundaries of the scene with their fifth full-length, refusing to compromise their sound and vision. Amid the tracks teeming with the band's classic sound, "The Wild Hunt" also features clean vocals (a first for the trio!) which, as frontman Erik Danielsson puts it, "is just us being brutally personal and honest. It shows another important facet of the WATAIN world."
Executed in oil and mixed materials, the cover of "The Wild Hunt" was created by Zbigniew M Bielak, the very same artist who was responsible for the "Lawless Darkness" artwork. The piece depicts one of the inmost shrines of WATAIN's temple. As on every classic still life, each object has a significant meaning, while each song of the album is also connected to an object.

DOYLE WOLFGANG VON FRANKENSTEIN: 'Valley Of Shadows' Lyric Video Released
 The lyric video for the song "Valley Of Shadows" from former MISFITS guitarist Doyle Wolfgang Von Frankenstein can be seen below. The track was released as a single on June 25 via iTunes.
Like the other 10 songs on Doyle's new album, "Abominator", "Valley Of Shadows" is rife with horror imagery, while telling the tale of a sick and twisted love story. Doyle's nuclear guitar riffs are mixed to melt speakers, while Alex Story's screaming vocals add to the sonic attack that is "Abominator".
"Abominator" was made available worldwide on iTunes and all digital music services on July 30.
The effort, which has been called "perhaps the best MISFITS-related record in over a decade," also features Alex Story (CANCERSLUG) on vocals, "Left-Hand" Graham on bass and Dr. Chud (MISFITS) on drums.
Showcasing the evolution of sound Doyle has achieved from his already legendary development with the MISFITS, "Valley Of Shadows" rages with the primal fury and carnality found throughout the band’s debut album. The two-hour sketch comedy show-meets-concert film builds upon and punctuates the multimedia format of the band's live performances with skits from the stable of PUSCIFER characters such as Billy D, Hildy and Major Douche woven into the performance footage of the Maynard James Keenan-led (TOOL, A PERFECT CIRCLE) quintet.
"Being surrounded by so many talented and creative people is an endless source of inspiration," explains Keenan. "This film only scratches the surface of how deep our proverbial rabbit hole goes. 'What Is… Puscifer' is meant to conjure as many questions as it answers." An accompanying soundtrack will be released simultaneously.
PUSCIFER's concerts have been praised for their out-of-the-box take on what a live performance can be, with the Orange County Register saying "the production… matters as much as the music" and describing the event as “a thought-provoking, senses-jabbing statement on a variety of topics.” The Dallas Morning News called the evening "an idiosyncratic experience" while the Austin Chronicle referred to the concert as a "multimedia prop dramedy."
In stores August 27 is "All Re-Mixed Up", a track-for-track remix album of the band's sophomore release "Conditions Of My Parole". The twelve-song Remixers include Sir Mix-A-Lot, PALMS, Five Knives and Alain Johannes.
Also coming from PUSCIFER this fall is a limited-edition Black Friday (November 29) release titled "Puscifer's 8-Ball Bail Bonds - The Berger Barns Live In Phoenix". The nine-song live album will be available on red vinyl at independent record stores nationwide.

DARKEST HOUR Completes New Album Pre-Production
 Washington D.C. metallers DARKEST HOUR recently completed a successful North American tour supporting KILLSWITCH ENGAGE, and wasted no time getting back to work. Upon returning home, the band immediately headed to Oceanic Studios to begin pre-production with producer Taylor Larson.
Comments DARKEST HOUR guitarist Michael Schleibaum: "When John Henry [vocals] and I started the band some 18 years ago, we could have never imagined the sound would travel this far.
"The making of this record (dating back to January of 2012) was both a painful and joyful one and the end result has become something truly transcendent.
"John's work with Taylor on the new demos has proven to be the best he's ever sounded and the introduction of the creative minds of both Travis Orbin (drums) and Aaron Deal (bass) have taken the songwriting someplace otherworldly.
"You can expect a massive evolution.

SCOTT WEILAND Apologizes To STONE TEMPLE PILOTS Fans
 Ex-STONE TEMPLE PILOTS singer Scott Weiland has apologized to the group's fans who are "caught in the middle" of his very public legal battle with his former bandmates.
STP fired Weiland earlier this year and recruited LINKIN PARK's Chester Bennington to take over.
The group sued Weiland in May, accusing him of using the band's name to advance his solo career, while claiming that his poor performances, late arrivals, and addiction struggles harmed the band's career.
Weiland has countersued, claiming that the band cannot use the STONE TEMPLE PILOTS name without him.
During Scott's solo performance at the Trocadero in Philadelphia this past Saturday night (August 17), a number of fans organized a "Fuck you, Chester" chant. Weiland thanked the fans for the support and added, "It's just a big 'ol planet, a big 'ol universe and in a big circle, it all works out. Anyway… Actually, Chester has his own band that makes a lot of money. I'm not really quite sure why he joined a band who is actually nameless."
He continued: "The problem is I shouldn’t have said anything at all and I apologize to those fans out there who are, feel like they’re caught in the middle of it, cause I sure feel like I'm caught in the middle of it emotionally, and all I want to do is play music, man."

STONE TEMPLE PILOTS, featuring Chester Bennington, will release an EP this fall, in conjunction with a North American tour that kicks off on September 4 in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania and winds down on September 27 in Las Vegas.
Weiland told The Pulse Of Radio that he and Bennington were good friends before this, but he doesn't see Bennington's move as a betrayal. "Yeah, I mean, I've known Chester for a long time," he said. "I got to be pretty close with him on the Family Values tour. I don't think Chester did it in a spiteful way. The brothers DeLeo [Dean, guitar and Robert, bass], they can be pretty persuasive."
Weiland recently embarked on a new run of solo tour dates beginning on August 2 in Los Angeles. As with his other shows earlier in the year, Weiland is playing material from STP's first two albums, "Core" and "Purple", as well as a smattering of covers, solo tunes and other STP tracks.
Weiland's use of STP songs in his solo shows was reportedly one of the reasons why the band sacked and then sued him. The band members claim that this, along with his erratic behavior and substance abuse issues, damaged their career. | 0 | |

ALICE COOPER-Penned Songs To Be Featured On New MARYANN COTTON Album
 Danish rock singer Maryann Cotton (born Jackie Patino), the son of KING DIAMOND bassist Hal Patino, has announced via his Facebook page that legendary rocker Alice Cooper "has written material" for Cotton's sophomore album, tentatively due in early 2014. Alice's involvement will be featured on three songs, along with his former collaborator Dick Wagner.
"My meeting with Alice Cooper in Germany went so well," says Maryann. "He was such a nice guy and I can't wait to go in the studio and record the songs they have written. It takes me back to my childhood when I listen to the tracks by Dick Wagner and Alice Cooper.
"Thank you so much for a great time together and for all your help and support, I really appreciate it!
"My biggest inspiration and hero of all time, Alice Cooper!"
Wagner is producing the new Maryann Cotton CD, which will be "a full concept album," with "the most terrifying horror story ever," according to a press release. Also set to make a guest appearance on the effort is KING DIAMOND guitarist Andy La Rocque.
La Rocque previously played on Cotton's debut CD, last year's "Free Falling Angels", on the tracks "Crazy", "Night Train To Paris", "Miss Misery", "Shock Me" and "Maryann".
Maryann Cotton debuted his new band on September 14, 2012 at Amager Bio in Copenhagen, Denmark.
"Free Falling Angels" was released on June 15, 2012 via Pure Steel Records. The CD featured guest appearances by four musicians who performed on KING DIAMOND's 1990 album, "The Eye" — Hal Patino, guitarists Andy La Rocque and Pete Blakk, and drummer Snowy Shaw.
Maryann Cotton's career was launched in 2006 when he performed live on Danish TV as part of the "Scenen Er Din" program (Danish version of "Star Search").

KYNG Signs With RAZOR & TIE

Original TROUBLE Drummer JEFF OLSON Rejoins THE SKULL
 Drummer Jeff "Oly" Olson has rejoined THE SKULL, the band he formed with fellow original member of Chicago doom-metal legends TROUBLE, vocalist Eric Wagner, and the band's longtime bassist, Ron Holzner.
Olson states: "I know that I've mentioned that I wouldn't perform TROUBLE's music anymore unless it's with the other original members, but I've had a change of heart. I want to rock again.
"Although I have been having a great time playing keys for IN-GRAVED (led by former PENTAGRAM guitarist Victor Griffin), I miss the drums and playing classic TROUBLE songs. I'm still going to jam with Victor, but there is room for THE SKULL too."
He adds: "In just a few short months, 2014 will mark the 30th anniversary year for TROUBLE's debut record, 'Psalm 9'. TROUBLE guitarists Rick Wartell and Bruce Franklin are having fun with their new record, and I had fun writing some intros for it. It's just that Eric, Ron, and myself want to jam too and celebrate our 30th anniversary as well with a tour and a new record. We've worked just as hard as Bruce and Rick over the years and we feel that we've earned the privilege to celebrate with the fans as well. There is no animosity between the two bands and we intend to keep it that way."
"We are currently writing a debut record, set for release in 2014 and I've already submitted several songs to the guys. Excitement is in the air."
THE SKULL's debut CD will be produced by Billy Anderson (HIGH ON FIRE, SLEEP, NEUROSIS) this autumn in Portland, Oregon and will be released via as-yet-undetermined record label.

DAVE GROHL Shares Thoughts On Upcoming NIRVANA 'In Utero' Reissue
 According to The Pulse Of Radio, FOO FIGHTERS frontman Dave Grohl was asked by XFM in the U.K. for his thoughts on the upcoming 20th anniversary reissue of NIRVANA's "In Utero", the final studio album by the band and second that Grohl played drums on. Grohl said, "I recognize myself back then and I remember what it was like to be in the band but it's hard to believe that that much time has gone by. A lot has happened in those 20 years, when I think about 'In Utero' and what the world was like, what my life was like back then, it's strange."
He added, "From the time that 'Nevermind' came out in September of 1991 to the time that NIRVANA was over, it was really just a few years and a lot happened in those few years. I look back at this album and looking at the packaging and the old pictures and listening to songs that I haven't heard in 20 years, all of these rarities and demos, it's kind of a trip."
NIRVANA did record some demos after "In Utero" came out and cut its final song, "You Know You're Right", in 1993. Grohl recalled the sessions for that track: "We had some time off before a tour, and Kurt [Cobain] wanted to go in and demo some stuff, so I said, 'Hey, why don't we do it at this studio down the street from my house.' And we went down there, and we had three days booked. Kurt came in the last day and we were like, 'Okay, what do you wanna do?' And Kurt said, 'Well, why don't we do that song we've been doing at soundcheck?' And so we rehearsed it, I think, once, and then recorded it. Kurt did three or four vocal takes, and that was it."
A previously unheard instrumental called "Forgotten Tune" will be among the 70 tracks included on the three-disc deluxe reissue of "In Utero", which is set for release on September 24.
The rest of the material on the jam-packed set will consist of remastered, remixed, rare and unreleased demos, B-sides, alternate takes and live recordings, along with two different mixes of the 12-song album.
The "In Utero" package will be issued in several configurations, including a three-CD/one-DVD "Super Deluxe" edition, plus two-CD, three-LP and digital versions.
Grohl also told XFM that FOO FIGHTERS have finished writing their eighth studio album and plan to record it "in a way that no one's ever done before." The disc is likely to come out in 2014.

METALLICA's 'Through The Never' To Receive World Premiere At TORONTO INTERNATIONAL FILM FESTIVAL
 "Metallica Through The Never", filmmaker Nimród Antal's captivating 3D movie featuring one of music's most enduring and iconic bands, will premiere at the prestigious Toronto International Film Festival on Monday, September 9 at 7:30 p.m.
Says the band: "Now in its 38th year, Toronto International Film Festival is the most respected and prominent film festival in North America with many major films making their worldwide debuts there (last year's festival brought in nearly 300 feature films from over 70 different countries!). 'Through The Never' will screen in the special IMAX at TIFF section and we'll be on hand for the red-carpet premiere, to introduce the film and will spend some time in Toronto to chat with the press."
IMAX Corporation and Picturehouse have announced that "Metallica Through The Never" will be digitally remastered into the immersive IMAX 3D format and released wide in North America exclusively into IMAX theatres for a one-week engagement starting Friday, September 27. The film will expand into additional theatres on October 4.
Starring METALLICA, a cast of thousands of their fans and breakout star Dane DeHaan ("Chronicle", "The Amazing Spider-Man 2"), "Metallica Through The Never" is written and directed by award-winning filmmaker Nimród Antal ("Predators", "Kontroll") and produced by former IMAX film producer Charlotte Huggins ("Journey To The Center Of The Earth"). The film marries groundbreaking footage and editing techniques with a compelling narrative, in which a band crew member (played by DeHaan) is sent out on a mission during METALLICA's roaring live set in front of a sold-out arena. While on this mission, he unexpectedly has his life turned completely upside down.
The IMAX 3D release of "Metallica Through The Never" will be digitally remastered into the image and sound quality of The IMAX Experience with proprietary IMAX DMR (Digital Re-mastering) technology. The crystal-clear images, coupled with IMAX's customized theatre geometry and powerful digital audio, create a unique environment that will make audiences feel as if they are in the movie.
Speaking to Collider.com, DeHaan stated about "Metallica Through The Never": "It's, in a way, like a 3D concert movie but there's also this narrative that ties together all the footage. It's gonna be, first of all, really rock and roll and really 'METALLICA,' for lack of a better word; they don't hold back at all. But during the concert, I basically go on this trip as a roadie for the band and I pretty much literally have to go through hell and back to take it back to them, and all of this is going on during the concert, so it all ties together really kind of beautifully and uniquely. It's unlike anything that I've ever seen before; it's almost like a concert movie meets 'The Wall' meets METALLICA."
Ulrich cited the 1976 LED ZEPPELIN movie "The Song Remains The Same" as a major influence on "Metallica Through The Never", explaining to Classic Rock, "There are four members in LED ZEPPELIN, four members in METALLICA, it's a full-length movie, and there's a lot in this film that does not take place onstage. The major difference is that the stuff that takes place offstage in the METALLICA movie does not feature any members of METALLICA. It's two separate worlds — a METALLICA show and a story that unfolds in a parallel universe — and at some point they intertwine."
The ZEPPELIN film interspersed concert footage with fantasy sequences starring each member of the group.
The concert sequences for METALLICA's movie were shot in August 2012 at two shows in Vancouver, Canada.

EAT THE GUN Signs With STEAMHAMMER/SPV
 Steamhammer/SPV has announced the signing of EAT THE GUN. The trio, consisting of Hendrik Wippermann (vocals, guitar), Gereon Homann (drums) and new addition Peter Bergmüller (bass) will release its 10-song fourth studio album, "Stripped To The Bone", in November. Formed in 2002, EAT THE GUN has released the studio albums "Cross Your Fingers" (2006), "Super Pursuit Mode Aggressive Thrash Distortion" (2009) and "Runner" (2011) and made the top ten of the German DJ Metal/Rock chart for eight weeks in 2009 and the Top 20 of the American college radio chart in 2011. The band has played more than 650 concerts to date, inspiring fans at the Taubertal Festival, the Big Day Out and the Wacken Open Air and appearing alongside acts such as DIE TOTEN HOSEN, HIM, DANKO JONES, DUFF MCKAGAN's LOADED, DONOTS, MUSTASCH, BACKYARD BABIES and HARDCORE SUPERSTAR.
For Steamhammer/SPV's A&R manager Olly Hahn, the signing of EAT THE GUN marks a special moment, too. TROUBLE: New Bassist Announced
 Chicago doom metal legends TROUBLE have announced the addition of bassist Rob Hultz to the group's ranks.
Hultz is no stranger to the heavy metal, hard rock, and doom metal genres as his lengthy music resume boasts. While still in high school, he joined an East Coast hardcore band called SOCIAL DECAY which served as his introduction to recording and touring. After a decade, he left with the guitar player to form the doom metal band GODSPEED and was signed to Atlantic Records. Their debut album was recorded at Electric Lady Studios in New York and produced by Rachel Bolan of SKID ROW. The band was represented by Gloria Butler Management and toured with iconic bands such as BLACK SABBATH, DIO and CATHEDRAL, to name just a few.
In 1996, Hultz helped form SOLACE, another notable doom metal band, which was signed to Meteor City Records, and played large arenas, clubs, and festivals such as Roadburn and Hellfest. Their last recording, "A.D.", was released on Small Stone Records in 2010 and voted Best Metal Album of the Year on iTunes. Since then, Hultz has lent his talents on projects for LETHAL AGGRESSION and DISEASE CONCEPT.
Commenting on the band's decision, TROUBLE founder and guitarist Rick Wartell states, "Bruce Franklin and I played the bass parts on 'The Distortion Field', with the exception of one song. However, as we began preparing to tour in support of the album, it became really important to choose the right person for the band. Rob is not only a great bass player but also a total pro with an impressive band history, and he's got the TROUBLE personality so he definitely fits in well. We look forward to him joining us on the road and being a bandmate for a long time to come."
Hultz has already begun rehearsals and will debut live with the band for a series of European show dates scheduled for October 2013, the details of which are still pending and will be announced separately.
"The Distortion Field", the first studio album in six years from TROUBLE, sold around 760 copies in the United States in its first week of release. The CD landed at position No. 25 on the Top New Artist Albums (Heatseekers) chart, which lists the best-selling albums by new and developing artists, defined as those who have never appeared in the Top 100 of The Billboard 200.
Due in Europe on August 23 via FRW Records, the 12-song follow-up to 2007's "Simple Mind Condition" was helmed by veteran producer Bill Metoyer (SLAYER, W.A.S.P., ARMORED SAINT, DARK ANGEL, SACRED REICH, CRYPTIC SLAUGHTER, D.R.I.) and marks the recording debut with TROUBLE of lead singer Kyle Thomas following the departure of the group's frontman of four years, Kory Clarke (of WARRIOR SOUL fame).

Says TROUBLE founder and guitarist Rick Wartell: "Kyle is one of the most impressive singers I've ever heard, and by far the most extraodinary singer I've ever had the pleasure of working with. He's got incredible range, incredible power, and an incredible knowledge of TROUBLE, as he's been a fan for 20-something years. We've known him forever, and he innately understands what TROUBLE is about. He's like the perfect guy to come in and do this job. It's awesome."
He adds: "Musically, I think this album is a true TROUBLE record.
"In the early days, we used to just write what we felt and didn't really care about what anyone said. We just wrote heavy riffs and played our music our way. But outside influences can kind of get a hold of you and start telling you what to do.
"When we were writing this album, the thinking was, we don't care what anybody thinks. We're going to write what we write. So this is basically a return to our roots, while combining some reflections of our band's long history as well.
"With the two different music writers, Bruce [Franklin, guitar] and myself, we have a slight variation in our writing; Bruce has more of a '70s groove to his writing, and I'm more the old-school doomy metal thing. And when you put it together, you get TROUBLE."
