BON JOVI Fires Richie Sambora?
 According to The Hollywood Reporter, BON JOVI has reportedly fired lead guitarist Richie Sambora from the band’s current tour.
According to the website RumorFix.com, Sambora’s departure is all about money. Sources say that Sambora was raking in $2 million a month and 20 percent of the profits from the tour, whereas fill-in guitarist Philip "Phil X" Xenidis was earning far less - about $10,000 a month - on the trek.
Although Sambora will still collect songwriting royalties and profits from merchandise, the 30-year bandmember is not taking the news well.
“Richie wants to go back onstage - that’s his first love,” a source tells the site. “He’s really upset over the news.”
The 54-year-old musician departed the group in the spring citing a “personal matter,” but has since remained mum on the subject.

ROTTEN SOUND Premier Animated Video For 'Peace' Track
 Fresh off their latest EP Species At War, ROTTEN SOUND have released a fan made animated music video for the track 'Peace'. The video was directed and animated by Janne Kauranen.
The Species At War EP was released earlier this year via Relapse Records on CD/LP/Digital and can be streamed via BandCamp or purchased here.
2013 marks the band's 20th anniversary and saw them tour the globe extensively. The group is currently writing their next full-length and follow-up to 2011's Cursed.

PINKISH BLACK Stream 'Ashtray Eyes' Track
 PINKISH BLACK's first incarnation arose in Fort Worth, TX, when 2005 saw a trio of like-minded souls connect under the banner of THE GREAT TYRANT and set about hewing a new definition for the word "heavy". Following the tragic passing of original bass player Tommy Atkins, the remaining duo forged ahead, morphing into an even darker macabre entity. Now comprised of drummer Jon Teague and Daron Beck on vocals and synthesizer, the band go under the new moniker Pinkish Black.
"Jon and I have been playing music for over two decades," Beck comments. "The whole process of getting to this point in our lives and our music has been very much a repeating cycle of building to inevitably tear down to build again to tear down and so on... it's how all life is. Building, destroying, building, destroying..."
Razed To The Ground, out September 16th in Europe, and September 17th in North America via Century Media Records, was recorded and mixed by the band and Matt Bernhart at The Echo Lab, and was mastered to ominous perfection by James Plotkin. The songs themselves pierce the same vein as the band's earlier material; death rock, post-punk, doom, and electronic elements slither over and under one another.

SOULFLY - Concept Trailer For New Savages Album Posted
 Brazilian metal icons SOULFLY, led by legendary frontman and guitarist Max Cavalera (ex-SEPULTURA), have released video trailer in which Max talks the concept of the band's upcoming album, Savages. Check it out below:

The Savages artwork was created by renowned artist Paul Stottler, who is best known for SCARED REICH’s legendary Surf Nicaragua cover.
Max Cavalera commented on the album: “Recording Savages was an amazing experience for me. I was so excited to work with Terry Date, whom I consider to be one of the best producers of all time. He has done some great records and we have been in contact for awhile since he mixed three Soulfly albums in the past. He came to see Soulfly whenever we played in Seattle, and we finally made it work that he would be the producer for Savages. My teammates were awesome. Marc did some crazy guitar noises and we did a 'Mars Part Two' at the end of 'El Comegente' - it's very LED ZEPPELIN influenced and Marc kicked some ass on it. I wrote 'El Comegente' with Tony Campos. It's in Portuguese and Spanish and it's about Vargas - a Venezuelan cannibal from the 80's. He is the Hannibal Lecter of the Andes. Crazy shit! I worked for the first time on a full album with my son, Zyon. Before recording the album I first worked closely at home with him in pre-production, and it was great to spend weeks on the songs with Zyon, shaping the sound of the record. Zyon did a great job and he hits really hard just like his uncle Iggor - it was amazing recording with my son. A whole record! A dream come true for a father whose life is dedicated to metal. Savages is a celebration of all that.”
Produced, engineered and mixed by renowned sound guru Terry Date (PANTERA, DEFTONES, WHITE ZOMBIE), Savages will be released as a limited edition digpack CD, 2LP vinyl and digital download. Guest vocal appearances on Savages include bass player Tony Campos, Max Cavalera's son Igor Cavalera (LODY KONG), CLUTCH's Neil Fallon, NAPALM DEATH's Mitch Harris and Jamie Hanks of I DECLARE WAR fame.

IMPERIAL TRIUMPHANT Premiere Video ‘Crushing The Idol’
 New York City-based black metallers IMPERIAL TRIUMPHANT have premiered the surreal, terrifying new video for ‘Crushing The Idol’. Directed by BVZA (Brendan Vaughan and Zach Adams), the clip eschews rote themes of Satan and blood, choosing instead to shine a harsh spotlight onto the face of real, human evil.
On September 5, 2012, after laboring in the shadows for nearly half a decade, releasing a string of obscure demos and EPs and honing their baroque, highly conceptualized strain of black metal psychosis, Imperial Triumphant released their debut full length. SKÁLMÖLD Release ‘Gleipnir’ Video
 Icelandic metal band SKÁLMÖLD has just released a video for the ‘Gleipnir’ song of their latest album Börn Loka. Directed by Bowen Staines, the video takes on the album’s story of the peasant Hilmar Baldursson and his pact with Óðinn, Loki and Loki’s children and combines it with the beautiful harshness of Icelandic nature.
Börn Loka, meaning Loki’s Children, is Skálmöld’s follow up to their debut Baldur. The album tells the story of Hilmar Baldursson and his sister Brynhildur, who enters a pact with Óðinn and deceiver Loki, and his encounters with Loki’s children. Grief and betrayal are key words in the story, causing Hilmar to sacrifice the soul of his beloved little sister.
The video, directed by Bowen Stains and produced by Don’t Panic Films, takes on the whole story of the album, displaying the horrifying children of Loki, Hilmar’s struggle and the beautiful harshness of Icelandic nature.
Björgvin, lead singer of Skálmöld, had this to say: “It really turned out way better than we could ever have hoped for. Hats off to Mr. Bowen, it’s truly a work of genius. I guess my favorite of the whole bunch is the aerial shots; Iceland looks just like pure evil and beautiful at the same time. I am also glad that Edda was willing to portray Hel in the Video (Edda Tegeder, female growler of ANGIST – did guest vocals as Hel on the album) … and the wolf ... just everything man, it totally kicks ass!”
Skálmöld will be on tour in Europe supporting Finntroll and Týr in September and October.

JULIUS SEIZURE Release New EP Trials
 New Jersey based JULIUS SEIZURE have released their sophomore EP Trials. The EP features all new material with new vocalist Charlie Corletta and is the band's second commercial release.
Trials was recorded and engineered by the bands guitarist Steve Toth and mixed/mastered by Kevin Anteeassian at Backroom Studios.
Although an Itunes release has been temporarily delayed, Trials can be purchased on the band's official site. The band have also just released the first single and music video ‘Second Coming’. The video directed by Jonathan Robertson of P1 Digital Media and can be seen below:

HYBRIS To Release Heavy Machinery Album In September
 London, England-based international thrash band HYBRIS will release their debut album, Heavy Machinery, on September 16th via Candlelight Records.

STAINLESS STEEL To Release Metal Machine Album In September; Artwork, Tracklisting Revealed
 STAINLESS STEEL will release their new album, Metal Machine, on September 13th. The pre-order phase will start on August 30th.
The new album sounds like it was directly from the 80s and many of the songs have been composed in the time inbetween, which gives you a very good impression of the bands development but, of course, this is nonsense. What do we mean by development? The band still is true 80s and this is perfect. No one needs 80s bands who want to sound modern. In many cases this is a catastrophe. If you should have accidentally confused Stainless Steel from Germany with Stainless Steel from Hungary, you will also get traditional metal. But if it’s the same quality, that’s for you to decide.

EMPEROR Confirmed For Sweden Rock Festival; Only Scandinavian Show Of 2014
 Legendary Norwegian black metallers EMPEROR are confirmed for next year's edition of the Sweden Rock Festival, taking place June 4th - 7th in Solvesborg, Sweden.
Organizers state: "Few can boast a reputation in black metal like Norway’s Emperor. The band, centered around frontman Ihsahn (Vegard Sverre Tveitan) and guitarist Samoth (Tomas Haugen), were pioneers in grandiose, keyboard-laden black metal. This without alienating underground purists in the process. The debut, In The NIghtside Eclipse (1994) became one of the seminal black metal releases and will be performed in it’s entirety at SRF. The second album, Anthems To The Welkin At Dusk, saw the band break through in a wider sense, with the album being named "Album Of The Year" in several metal magazines, and a video for the single 'The Loss And Curse Of Reverence' being played on MTV. In 2001, after merely four studio albums, Emperor folded. This obviously only added to the legend. As previously reported, Emperor will be celebrating the 20th anniversary of their album, In The Nightside Eclipse, at next year's Wacken Open Air. Ihsahn (Vegard Sverre Tveitan) and Samoth (Tomas Haugen) will be joined by Faust on drums, and they will perform the album in its entirety.
"There will be no new studio album or a worldwide tour, only a few exclusive festival appearances next year, to mark the celebration of this landmark album."
AMON AMARTH, APOCALYPTICA, ARCH ENEMY, AVANTASIA, BEHEMOTH, CHILDREN OF BODOM, ICED EARTH, KING DIAMOND, KREATOR, PRONG, and SCHANDMAUL are also among the first batch of acts confirmed for Wacken Open Air 2014.

THE MELVINS: Vancouver Concert Cut Short By Bottle-Throwing Incident
 THE MELVINS cut their August 19 concert in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada short after the band's lead vocalist/guitarist Buzz Osborne was hit in the chest with a bottle that was thrown by someone in the crowd.
A fan who attended the gig told Alternative Nation: "Towards the end of the show, someone threw a bottle that reportedly hit Buzzo in the chest. The music stopped, he said 'Fuck you, guys' and walked off. Dale [Crover, drums] came up and demanded to know who had thrown it. When no one owned up, he said 'See ya' and the roadies proceeded to take down gear. One roadie collected all the setlists and put them in his pocket. However, the perpetrator had been apprehended by some of the crowd members and handed over to security. He was brought outside and identified by Buzzo himself who proceeded to get into a vehicle and leave, ignoring everyone but the authorities. The bottle thrower was arrested."

POP EVIL Release 'Deal With The Devil' Single; Video Streaming
 POP EVIL have debuted a brand new song by way of music video, for their next single, 'Deal With The Devil'.
Lead singer Leigh Kakaty comments: "It's exciting to finally get the opportunity to release a song with a music video. We worked really hard to come up with a visual that captures the energy of the song as well as taking the imagery to a new high."
Directed by Johan Carlén, the video for 'Deal With The Devil' is the second installment of a three part series working in reverse, we saw the conclusion of the trilogy with the band's video for 'Trenches'.
