Since this past tour will be the last of our touring for The Harvest Floor, it's time to stay home for a while and write a new album. New bassist Derek Engemann has relocated officially to San Diego, CA, we've already started working on songs and we'll be spending the coming months writing and doing regional one off shows. The new album won't be recorded for some time and we won't be on the road until around summertime 2011.
The new self-titled CD EP by MURDER CONSTRUCT has been released Tuesday, November 23rd on Relapse Records. “As you may know by reading the previous news, Mark McGee (ex-VICIOUS RUMORS, LUVPLANET) recorded some solos on our new album! But as we like to entertain some suspense we waited to reveal some other name, so here it is: guitarist Chris Caffery ex SAVATAGE, actual member of TRAN-SIBERIAN ORCHESTRA and running also a solo career, graced our third album by his presence! He appears on the last song of the album, which has a special meaning that will be revealed later. Did I talk about suspense?

RAM Begin Mixing New Album; Lightbringer To Be Released On Vinyl in January
 Sweden's RAM has announced it has entered Welfare Sound Studios in Gothenburg, Sweden to begin mixing their new album. The released date is planned for early 2011.

SYMFONIA: Asian Deal Signed; Debut Album Release Date Revealed
 SYMFONIA, the new melodic metal project featuring former members of HELLOWEEN, STRATOVARIUS, ANGRA and SONATA ARCTICA, will enter Studiomega in Varberg, Sweden on November 25 to begin recording 12 songs for its debut album, which is scheduled for a March 25, 2011 release.
SYMFONIA has signed a four-album deal with the biggest Japanese metal and rock label Marquee Avalon for the territory of the entire Asian region, including China. Negotiations for the other territories are still in progress.

NECROPHAGIA: New Song Posted Online
 A new NECROPHAGIA song entitled "Naturan Demonto" is available for streaming on the band's MySpace page. The track comes off the group's forthcoming "Deathtrip 69" release and is the final installment of an "Evil Dead"-themed trilogy, which started on "Season Of The Dead" back in 1987 and continued with "It Lives In The Woods" from 1998's "Holocausto De La Morte". According to the band, "The new material sounds like it should have chronologically followed 'Season of the Dead', consisting of very dark and heavy riffs interwoven with audio horror and inhuman vocals. [Frontman] Killjoy [real name: Frank Pucci] is full of praises for the new lineup and says that although it's been a very long time since the band has been active, it's the beginning of a rollercoaster ride into horror hell! Inspiration is at an all-time peak and having known guitarist Boris Randall for over twenty years makes things a lot easier when it comes songwriting 'because we are always thinking in the same direction musically.' Another element brought back to NECROPHAGIA is lead guitar passages courtesy of Randall."

DESPISED ICON\'s Final Shows To Include Reunion Of Original Lineup
 Montreal, Quebec, Canada extreme metallers DESPISED ICON, who announced in April that they were splitting up after an eight-year run, have issued the following update:
"It's been a while already since we made THE announcement and I know some of you are probably saying, 'WTF, these guys still aren’t done yet?!' Hahah Well, instead of canceling the tours we had in the works at the time, we figured it'd be a good opportunity to play in our favorite cities, tour in a few countries we had never visited before and rock out with you guys for the last time.
"After touring in 24 countries in the last six months, we're finally back home and getting ready to play our last Quebec and Ontario shows next week.
"This final world tour was simply amazing and since this is the last time we check in with you guys, I just want to sincerely thank you all once again for all your help and support. We've had some good fucking times together!
"For those who were planning on coming to our final Montreal shows, we have a few surprises for you. The original DESPISED ICON lineup (2002-2006) will make its appearance and play a few songs from the first two albums! We're also happy to announce that our brothers in ION DISSONANCE and BENEATH THE MASSACRE will be supporting their new records for the first time at home and ABACABB will also be playing one of their last shows ever with us. Our homies in THE ACACIA STRAIN, OCEANO and MYCHILDREN MYBRIDE will also be part of the event. It's gonna be epic. ONSLAUGHT: New Single To Feature Guest Appearances By MOTÖRHEAD, SODOM Members
 U.K. thrash metal veterans ONSLAUGHT will release a double single, "The Sound of Violence" / "Bomber", on December 17 through AFM Records. The single will include one track from the band's forthcoming fifth album, "Sounds Of Violence", backed with a cover version of the MOTÖRHEAD classic "Bomber".
Commented ONSLAUGHT guitarist Nige Rockett: "We're really stoked to finally be getting some new material out in the public domain. It's been such a long time since the 'Killing Peace' album and this will be a great little sampler for the upcoming album release in early 2011.
"'The Sound Of Violence' track is a cool representation of things to come. It's got a real old-school ONSLAUGHT feel but its very contemporary at the same time... a real angry, no-nonsense thrasher.
"Regarding the 'Bomber' cover: MOTÖRHEAD have always been a huge influence on ONSLAUGHT and our relationship goes back a long long way. So when we decided to have some fun and do a cover song in the studio, this track immediately sprang to mind, especially as it's relative to the theme of the new album. We've given it a pretty aggressive ONSLAUGHT slant and thrashed it up little, but still very much retaining the original identity of the song.
"To make things a little more interesting, we thought we would like to add some very special guests into the mix.... We asked Phil [Campbell; MOTÖRHEAD guitarist] if he would like to come and thrash out with us and play some guitar on the track. The answer was an undoubted 'Yes'...
"Things were sounding pretty cool in rehearsal but just missing that tiny piece of magic / the icing on the cake... Then Phil came in and played that awesome riff in his style and everything just fell right into place... We also had the idea that our friend Tom Angelripper (SODOM) would sound perfect sharing the vocal duties with our own Mr. Keeler.
"We knew Tom was in the studio recording the new SODOM record so the timing was perfect... We sent over the tracks and Tom did the rest. He laid down some great fucking vocals, as you will hear, and it's really added something special to the final result.
"As you can tell, really, I'm buzzing about all this... It's an exciting time to be in ONSLAUGHT right now."

U.D.O. - New Album Pushed Back To May
 The release of U.D.O.'s new album, Rev-Raptor, has once again been pushed back. AFM Records had initially announced a January 14, 2011 street date. Due to guitarist Stefan Kaufmann's back problems, the release was bumped to March 18, 2011. Now, Rev-Raptor has been pushed back to May 20, 2011.

AUGUST BURNS RED Releases New Christmas Cover, \'Little Drummer Boy\'
 In keeping with their annual tradition of re-imagining classic Christmas songs such as "Carol of the Bells" and "O Come, O Come Emmanuel", metal juggernauts AUGUST BURNS RED have released a cover of holiday favorite "Little Drummer Boy" — available to purchase now on iTunes and streaming on the band's MySpace page.
"With 'Little Drummer Boy' I wanted to do something really different from any previous AUGUST BURNS RED songs," explains guitarist JB Brubaker. "The end result is pretty much our attempt at down-tuned post metal, which is something I've been a fan of for a long time now. The song was recorded in drop A, which is much lower than we usually play. Recording the track was a lot of fun as I was able to incorporate a bunch of new sounds and techniques ABR has never used before like slide guitar, ukulele, and acoustic guitar. The icing on the cake was having Magnus Lindberg mix the track. Lindberg has done all the CULT OF LUNA albums, and I'm a huge fan of theirs so I was so excited to have him mix the track."
In addition to the band's latest Christmas offering, ABR's near-classic cover of "Carol of the Bells" (heard in the trailer for "Frank Miller's The Spirit") will be featured in the upcoming "American Dad! Christmas Special" (from "Family Guy"'s Seth MacFarlane), airing Sunday, December 12 on FOX.
AUGUST BURNS RED is currently wrapping up a nationwide run on the AP Fall Tour alongside co-headliners BRING ME THE HORIZON, after which they'll conclude 2010 touring with a trek across Australia and New Zealand alongside legendary artists MEGADETH, NOFX, THE DESCENDENTS, DROPKICK MURPHYS and more as part of the No Sleep Til festival tour. The band will bookend 2010 with another annual tradition — a year-end Christmas show at their hometown venue, Lancaster, Pennsylvania's Chameleon Club, on December 29.

ANVIL \'Anthology\' To Be Released; More New Album Details Revealed
 Canadian heavy metal legends ANVIL have signed a new recording contract with The End Records. The band is currently recording its new album, entitled "Juggernaut of Justice", at Dave Grohl's (NIRVANA, FOO FIGHTERS) Studio 606 in Northridge, California with famed producer Bob Marlette (BLACK SABBATH, AIRBOURNE, FILTER, ATREYU, ALICE COOPER). A spring 2011 relase is expected. Prior to the arrival of the new CD, The End will release the definitive ANVIL anthology. The collection will be comprised of classics old and new, with some surprises, and will showcase the band's entire career spanning back to 1978.
Commented ANVIL singer/guitarist Steve "Lips" Kudlow: "I must say that this is by far the best ANVIL ever. There will be a few new surprises including [bassist] Glenn 5's first lead vocals in ANVIL's history. The production that Bob Marlette has done far surpasses anything we've done in the past. The excitement within the band is over the top and we can't wait to unleash this amazing cd to the fans."
Drummer Robb Reiner concurred, "The new album is pure ANVIL with a new fresh kick, very exciting.
"Looking to rocking with The End, putting the music where it belongs — in everybody's ears and face!"
In a 2009 interview with Suite101.com, Reiner stated about the group's forthcoming CD, "It's going to be the best album we've ever done. We've invented a new genre; we've invented metal-jazz . . . We've pioneered something that I believe is going to be revolutionary. I'm a jazz drummer: the world knows that I just happen to be in a metal band. And Lips listens to a lot of old-time swing jazz these days." Lips added, "I've been getting into Benny Goodman and Gene Krupa, really fast swing. It's really similar to speed metal, it's just that it's done with horns." Reiner continued, "We play this stuff live right now, and it blows people away beyond anything I've ever seen. We've innocently created something that's never been done before."
ANVIL is currently planning a world tour for 2011 in support of "Juggernaut of Justice". Details will be announced shortly.
ANVIL's re-release of the group's latest album, "This is Thirteen", sold around 1,400 copies in the United States in its first week of release. The CD landed at position No. 19 on the Top New Artist Albums (Heatseekers) chart, which lists the best-selling albums by new and developing artists, defined as those who have never appeared in the Top 100 of The Billboard 200.
"This is Thirteen" was finally given proper national distribution on CD and vinyl in September 2009 via VH1 Classic Records. The collectible double vinyl LP boasts newly re-recorded versions of ANVIL classics "Metal on Metal" and "666". The album, originally recorded in 2007 and produced by Chris Tsangarides (JUDAS PRIEST, THIN LIZZY), was primarily available directly from the band via their web site and at their concerts.
ANVIL, considered a major influence for a generation of hard rockers including METALLICA, SLAYER, ANTHRAX, and GUNS N' ROSES, was the subject of a critically acclaimed, must-see rock-doc, "Anvil!  Vocalist Roger Miret of New York hardcore legends AGNOSTIC FRONT was interviewed on the RealPunkRadio program "Loud Fast And Shitty" about the band's new album that is currently being recorded at Mana Recording Studios in St. Petersburg, Florida. BATTLELORE: \'10 Years Of BATTLELORE\' DVD Detailed
 Finnish fantasy metallers BATTLELORE have completed work on their sixth full-length album, "Doombound", featuring 11 new songs, one of which is instrumental. As was the case with previous BATTLELORE albums, there will be a jewel-case edition of "Doombound" and a special limited-edition digipack including some rare material. This time around the extra material is more special than ever before — as a "thank you" to all BATTLELORE fans and followers for their enormous support over the past 10 years, the band has compiled a bonus DVD from their personal archives. "10 Years Of Battlelore" includes footage from two live shows, two tour videos, a huge photo gallery and all of BATTLELORE's music videos.
Commented the band: "This is the kind of material of us that has never been seen before. We wanted our fans to see, how much their support means to us and what being a part of the 'BATTLELORE family' is really like. Enjoy, we sure have!"
The team behind the DVD and Club Nosturi shows: Toni Salminen (the artist behind Metalscope.net), a friend of the band and a talented band photographer/video shooter and editor/tour driver is the compiler and editor of most of the material found on the DVD. He has also organized the video shootings of the two live shows in Club Nosturi and edited all the video materials. Tommi Vaittinen, a longtime friend and sound engineer of the band, has done the mixing for the two live shows. The crew behind the cameras is: Eetu Keränen, Petri Koivunen, Toni Salminen and Roni Ärling. Drums on the two live shows from Club Nosturi: Enkku, who filled in for BATTLELORE's drummer, Henri Vahvanen. Maria Honkanen (BATTLELORE keyboardist) has been helping out with the editing of the two tour videos. She also compiled the chosen photographs out of the thousands of personal photos and edited the song samples for the photo gallery.

ANGERTEA Issue Update On Working On 3-Song EP With Producer Neil Kernon, Engineer Alan Douches
 Hungarian experimental-grunge-metalheads ANGERTEA have contacted BraveWords.com with the following update:
"Angertea is currently working on a 3-song EP with Grammy Award winner producer Neil Kernon (NILE, NEVERMORE, etc.).
These days we have recieved the first mixes of the new songs from Neil, and they really kick ass. They are just being sent to have it mastered to mastering engineer Alan Douches, who made albums of such bands as THE DILLINGER ESCAPE PLAN, SEPULTURA, DEICIDE, MADBALL, MASTODON, MISFITS, etc.
Hopefully we'll be done with the 3 songs in 2 weeks!
Other news is that we're making two videos for the EP. One for the song 'Streams', in which Attila Voros of Nevermore plays a guest guitar solo, and an other one for 'Distrust', which features Scott Reeder on guest bass. The two videos are going to be completely different from each other. 'Streams' will be kind of a regular image clip, while 'Distrust' seems to become a horror movie, in which we’ll depict a strange man-woman relationship.
Our most important aim with this EP is to find a record company which publishes our records worldwide."

DESTRUCTION Frontman: \'It Feels Great To Be A Real Band Again\'
 German thrash metal veterabs DESTRUCTION have announced the addition of drummer Vaaver (INDUKTI, ex-UNSUN) to the group's ranks. The band states, "Some of you may have seen him already with the band on this year's summer festivals. He is a studied musician (McGill University of Montreal) and is a Polish-Canadian citizen!"

DESTRUCTION will release its new album, "Day Of Reckoning", on February 28, 2011 via Nuclear Blast Records. The first limited edition of the album will not feature the band's logo on the booklet while the vinyl version and second pressing of the CD will show a red DESTRUCTION logo on it.

"We decided to not use the classical butcher theme on the cover front this time, 'cause this album needed a malicious look with symbols that express this strong title in the most bold and simple way.
"The story line will continue through the whole cover art and booklet. Gyula, a fantastic artist and metal fan from Hungary, was a great help for us with nailing down this concept. It's not the first time we worked with him; he illustrated all our latest releases! Like the band, he breathes, lives and understands the concept of a rather socially critical band like DESTRUCTION to the bone!"

Former ABSU Guitarist AETHYRIS MCKAY Explains Decision To Join PANTHEON I
 Norwegian extreme metallers PANTHEON I have announced the addition of former ABSU guitarist Aethyris McKay to the group's ranks. This is a surprise move from the band who recently announced a search for a new vocalist to give frontman Andre Kvebek a chance to concentrate more on guitars and leave the vocalist to range free on stage. However, as PANTHEON I's manager explains, "We received a big response from musicians all over Europe and auditioned vocalists of exceptional ability, all of whom we would have been proud to have front the band, however, it quickly became clear that we had overlooked the obvious, which was that Kvebek's voice is a defining aspect of PANTHEON I's music, and that to replace it with someone else would have altered the whole dynamic of the band."
PANTHEON I and Aethyris first met when the band supported ABSU on their European tour at the end of 2009. Aethyris joined PANTHEON I on stage for a song during the tour, and forged a strong relationship with the band's music and the musicians themselves. Commenting on his new role, the American guitarist, who has now relocated to Norway, said: "Joining PANTHEON I has been outstanding thus far. I feel as though I fit right in here and I love the passion and conviction that encompasses the material. This is an incredible arrangement of musicians and people that I can't wait to assault the world with!" Regarding his departure from ABSU, Aethyris stated, "There aren't words enough to say what being a part of ABSU has meant to me. Working with a great friend and talented individual such as Proscriptor McGovern, was an experience only to be described as Magical! The entire cult of ABSU will always hold a special place with me and I wish them all the best in their future endeavours."
While Kvebek (ex-1349) will concentrate on vocals on stage and leave the live guitar work to Sagstad (TROLLFEST, SARKOM, METAL MILITIA) and Aethyris, he will continue to write for PANTHEON I and will record guitars along with the band's two guitarists. Other members of the lineup include classically trained cellist Live Julianne Costol, TRS (1349, TYRANN) on bass and Mads G (THE ALLSEEING I) on drums. Aethyris will also be bringing an additional perspective to PANTHEON I by performing clean vocals both live and in the studio.
PANTHEON I is currently in the pre-production stage of its fourth full-length album, which will be a follow-up to the critically acclaimed "Worlds I Create" and which will include guest appearances from several well known artists from the extreme metal scene. The band will play two dates in Norway in November, which will mark Aethyris' live debut, and is also due to embark on a tour of Germany in December, along with fellow Norwegians TROLLFEST and the German bands FINSTERFORST and UNLIGHT. | 0 | |

MANOWAR: Four Audio Samples From Re-Recorded \'Battle Hymns\' Available
 MANOWAR has decided that its fans deserved to hear the songs from its debut album, 1982's "Battle Hymns", with the massive sound and production that has become the group's signature over recent years and records.
With the decision to reinterpret the music came the need to revisit the famed narration of the legendary Orson Welles. There was only one obvious choice and that was Sir Christopher Lee. Recorded at the famed Abbey Road Studios in London, his own inspired interpretation of the late, great Orson Welles on "Dark Avenger" will be another jewel in the crown of the Kings Of Metal.

VINCE NEIL Comes In Dead Last On \'Skating With The Stars\'
 Video footage of MÖTLEY CRÜE singer Vince Neil's skating debut on the premiere episode of the brand new show "Skating With The Stars", which is described as "Dancing With The Stars" on ice (and comes from the same producers), can be viewed below.
Neil stayed on his feet in his performance, which aired live earlier tonight (Monday, November 22), but only managed to come last in the judges' grades, with just 28 out of 60.

ICARUS WITCH Recording New Single
 Pittsburgh traditional metal band ICARUS WITCH began pre-production on its new single, "Tragedy", Monday night (November 22) with producer Dave Watson (MANTIC RITUAL, HERO DESTROYED, CROWN THE LOST, DC COOPER). The group will track the effort at Soundscape Studios in Pittsburgh this week and looks to release the song and video prior to its upcoming tour with former IRON MAIDEN singer Paul Di'Anno. This marks the first time ICARUS WITCH will record with an engineer other than longtime producer Eric Klinger (PRO-PAIN, BUILT UPON FRUSTRATION) who recently relocated to Belgium.

MACABRE - Grim Scary Tales Release Dates, Tracklisting, Artwork, Audio Sample Available
 Celebrating their 25th Anniversary of all original members Chicago’s murder metal pioneers MACABRE unleash their brand new studio album entitled Grim Scary Tales in Europe on January 31st, 2011 by Hammerheart Records and in North America on February 8th, 2011 by Willowtip Records.
