MANOWAR\'s \'Magic - A Tribute to Ronnie James Dio\': Complete Details Revealed
 MANOWAR and Magic Circle Entertainment have decided to honor one of metal's greatest legends with "Magic - A Tribute to Ronnie James Dio", a new CD featuring Magic Circle Music artists and friends performing some of Dio's most inspired work.
"Magic - A Tribute to Ronnie James Dio" is especially poignant because Dio hails from the same fertile upstate New York soil as MANOWAR.
"Heavy metal has lost a great artist and a true gentleman," says MANOWAR bassist Joey DeMaio. "I had the privilege of being his friend and, along with other friends and admirers, we wish to honor him."
MANOWAR contributes a powerful rendition of the BLACK SABBATH song "Heaven And Hell". JACK STARR'S BURNING STARR and the MAGIC CIRCLE ALL STAR BAND (with Shmoulik Avigal and Joe Stump) contribute the classics "Catch The Rainbow" and "Long Live Rock 'n' Roll" and Ronnie's cousin and former ELF guitarist David "Rock" Feinstein delivers a song inspired and written for Dio titled "Far Beyond". The album is rounded out by several tenacious, up-and-coming bands, such as female-fronted HOLYHELL, featuring the voice of Maria Breon (called by many "the female Dio") as well as METALFORCE, AWAKEN and CROSSWIND, all of whom embrace Dio's legacy in their own inspired interpretations of his songs on "Magic".
In tribute to Dio's legacy, famous fantasy painter and illustrator Ken Kelly, the man behind many of heavy metal's most classic album covers (including some by MANOWAR) has reworked his iconic RAINBOW "Rising" artwork for "Magic".
"Magic - A Tribute to Ronnie James Dio" is from the hearts of these musicians. It is not only their privilege, but also their duty, to honor Ronnie by singing his praises while singing his songs.
"Magic - A Tribute To Ronnie James Dio" will be released on Magic Circle Music's online store Kingdom of Steel on June 18, in Germany on July 16, in the U.S. and Canada on July 20 and further international territories in the forthcoming weeks. The album will also be available at the merchandise booth of all upcoming MANOWAR live appearances, starting at the Sonisphere festival in Sofia, Bulgaria on June 23.

GHOST MACHINERY Signs With LIMB MUSIC
 Finnish melodic metallers GHOST MACHINERY have inked a worldwide deal with Germany's Limb Music. The band's second album, "Out For Blood", will be released in the fall. Songtitles set to appear on the CD include "Blood From Stone", "Lost In Time", "Sentenced To Life (In Paradise)" and "Name Remains In History".
GHOST MACHINERY last year recruited Taage Laiho (KILPI, ALTARIA) as the band's new vocalist.
Laiho sang on two ALTARIA albums — "Divinity" and "The Fallen Empire" — and he also took part in an extensive European tour with the band in 2006.
Formed in 2002 by Pete Ahonen (BURNING POINT), GHOST MACHINERY released its debut album, "Haunting Remains", in December 2004. Since then, the band has been very active behind the scenes and the guys in the group have been in and out from the studio recording the second GHOST MACHNERY CD, "Out for Blood". Taage was able to put his "mark" on the record with his great singing as well as his lyrics.

BLACK LABEL SOCIETY, CHILDREN OF BODOM And CLUTCH Teaming Up For Black Label Berzerkus North American Tour
 Billboard.biz has revealed that Zakk Wylde's BLACK LABEL SOCIETY will be hitting the road this fall with CHILDREN OF BODOM and CLUTCH as supprt on the Black Label Berzerkus tour
Tim Borror at the Agency Group comments: "This is my first run working with the Black Label Society team and, not that I didn't know it already, but once you get past scratching the surface you really see how vital this band is and what a huge icon Zakk is," says Borror, who expresses confidence in a lineup that boasts "big guitar player profile" in Wylde and COB's Alexi Laiho.
"This tour has more to offer than most, and I think we have a package that is going to wake people up to what BLS and the bands Zakk chose as support are capable of doing," Borror tells Billboard.biz. "This new BLS record is incredible, and with everything that is going on with this band right now, BLS will be at their height and rising at the end 2010 leading into 2011."

GUNS N\' ROSES Keyboardist Falls On Stage In Moscow; Video Available
 Fan-filmed video footage of GUNS N' ROSES keyboardist Chris Pitman falling on stage during the band's June 8, 2010 performance in Moscow, Russia can be viewed below.
In addition to Pitman and sole original member Axl Rose (vocals), the current lineup of GUNS N' ROSES includes guitarists DJ Ashba, Ron Thal and Richard Fortus, bassist Tommy Stinson, keyboardist Dizzy Reed and drummer Frank Ferrer.
GUNS N' ROSES' latest album, "Chinese Democracy", was released in November 2008 as a Best Buy exclusive, 17 years after the last all-original GUNS sets, "Use Your Illusion I" and "II". The album was a commercial disappointment, selling less than one million copies in the U.S. (according to Nielsen SoundScan) despite the long wait.

GOAT THE HEAD Signs With AFTERMATH MUSIC
 Norwegian death metallers GOAT THE HEAD have inked a deal with Aftermath Music. The band's second full-length album, "Doppelgängers", will be released on September 13 on both CD and vinyl. The record was mixed and mastered by Tue Madsen (HALFORD, BEHEMOTH, KATAKLYSM, THE HAUNTED) at his Antfarm Studio in Århus , Denmark and it "boasts 10 furious tracks exerting about every color of the metal palette," acccording to a press release.
Commented the band: "Ah, yeah, it's great to be back in business! It is with great anticipation and spirit we engage into cooperation with Aftermath Music, a label whose enthusiasm is both infectious and inspiring! Top-notch times!"

CHILDREN OF BODOM Recording Demos For New Album
 Bassist Henkka Seppälä (a.k.a. Henkka T. Blacksmit) of Finnish metallers CHILDREN OF BODOM has issued the following update:
"So yesterday we recorded some demos for the new stuff. Jaska's [Raatikainen] drums earlier, Alexi [Laiho, guitar/vocals] and me did our share yesterday. Roope [Latvala, guitar] will be doing today.
"It's exciting!
"Couple of more months and we will start recording for real.
"Can't really wait how the new shit sounds when it's actually all done.
"While recording we will hit the festivals, which is cool.
"We never left the studio like this, in the middle of recording process, so let's see how it affects, or if it affects at all."
"Skeletons In The Closet", the latest album from CHILDREN OF BODOM, entered the official chart in the band's home country at position No. 9.
"Skeletons In The Closet" was released on September 23, 2009 through Spinefarm. The follow-up to 2008's "Blooddrunk" is a selection of cover versions, some of them existing recordings, others specially laid down for this release.
CHILDREN OF BODOM has been recording covers since the early days of its career, some predictably heavy ("Silent Scream" by SLAYER, for example), others reflecting an altogether broader taste ("Talk Dirty To Me" by POISON).
CHILDREN OF BODOM recently completed a month-long North American headlining tour. The 20-city trek launched on September 18 at Lupo's Heartbreak Hotel in Providence, Rhode Island and wrapped on October 14 in Honolulu, Hawaii. Support on the tour came from THE BLACK DAHLIA MURDER and SKELETONWITCH.

UNEARTHLY TRANCE: New Album Artwork Unveiled
 New York's UNEARTHLY TRANCE will release its fifth studio album, aptly titled "V", on September 28 in North America and October 4 internationally. The follow-up to "Electrocution" was recorded in at SIR studios in the band's hometown with engineering help from Sanford Parker and Rich Tapper. The record was mastered by Collin Jordan at the Boiler Room and mixed by the band's own Jay Newman. The CD artwork was designed by Glyn Scrawled and can be viewed below. PAPA ROACH: New Song Available For Streaming
 "Kick In The Teeth", the brand new single from Californian rockers PAPA ROACH, can be streamed in the YouTube clip below. The song comes off the band's upcoming album, "Time For Annihilation...On The Road and On The Record", which will feature a mix of live tracks and new studio cuts. PAPA ROACH frontman Jacoby Shaddix told The Pulse of Radio why the band decided to issue a live album now. "Everybody keeps going, 'Man, you guys, you know, you guys kill it live, you guys are a great live band,' and we were like, 'You know what, it's time for us to do a live record,'" he said. "And so we wrapped up 2009, we were doing dates with SHINEDOWN, and we started recording shows towards the end of that. We got nine live songs, and then we have five studio songs, and so it's kind of like the best of both worlds."

BLACK VEIL BRIDES: \'Perfect Weapon\' Video Released
 "Perfect Weapon", the new video from theatrical dark rockers BLACK VEIL BRIDES, can be viewed below. The clip was directed by Patrick Fogarty, who also helmed the band's video for "Knives and Pens" last year.
"Perfect Weapon" comes off BLACK VEIL BRIDES' debut album, "We Stitch These Wounds", which is scheduled for release on July 20 via Standby Records.
The cover art for "We Stitch These Wounds", a beautiful Victorian style painting of vocalist Andy Six stitching his infamous "wound," was created by renowned painter Richard Villa.
The band will hit the road in support of the record, headlining the Hot Topic Presents: The Sacred Ceremony Tour, along with VAMPIRES EVERYWHERE!, MODERN DAY ESCAPE and GET SCARED. The six-week trek is set to kick off in San Diego on July 2.

NEVERMORE: \'Emptiness Unobstructed\' Video Released
 "Emptiness Unobstructed", the new video from Seattle metallers NEVERMORE, can be viewed below (courtesy of Bloody-Disgusting.com). The clip, which was filmed during the band's May 18, 2010 concert at the O2 Academy Islington in London, England, was directed by Nigel Crane, who helmed PARADISE LOST's "The Rise Of Denial" video last year for Century Media Records.
Commented NEVERMORE vocalist Warrel Dane: "Working with director Nigel Crane was a great experience.
"We spent a day walking around the white cliffs in Dover the day before the London show and we couldn't possibly be happier with the end result.
"The live part was shot at the O2 Academy Islington in London and we only performed the song twice that night so we had to make these takes count, so we went all out.
"It was pretty amazing that most of the audience knew all of the words even though we were a number of days away from the album's release.

DISTURBED: \'Another Way To Die\' Lyric Video Released
 DISTURBED's first single from its upcoming album "Asylum" was delivered to radio stations on Monday morning (June 14t). Titled "Another Way To Die", the track deals with some very timely subject matter, as frontman David Draiman told The Pulse of Radio. "Obviously it's referring to the global catastrophe that we know as global warming, and the effects that it continues to have on our planet, and our irresponsibility in doing what we do as a species, and our constant appetite, our constant consumption at all costs, you know, no matter what is destroyed, no matter what is laid to waste," he said. "And certainly what's happening in the Gulf now is, you know, horrific."
"Another Way To Die" goes on sale at iTunes on Tuesday (June 15).
"Asylum" will arrive in August and will follow up the group's 2008 release, "Indestructible", their fourth million-seller in a row and third No. 1 album.
DISTURBED will hit the road ahead of the album's release, and will be anchoring this summer's new Uproar Tour with AVENGED SEVENFOLD and STONE SOUR.

MANTICORA To Release Seventh Full-Length Album In September
 Longstanding Danish metal band MANTICORA has completed work on its seventh full-length album, "Safe", at Jailhouse Studios in Horsens, Denmark, once again produced and mixed by Tommy Hansen (JORN LANDE, HELLOWEEN, PRETTY MAIDS).
Following the successful two-part "Black Circus" albums (released in 2006 and 2007 on Locomotive Music), "Safe" will see the band exploring a darker and heavier side of its songwriting than in recent years, and contrary to the simplicity of the album cover (a black/white cover only showcasing the band-symbol) "Safe" is filled with high-octane technical power-thrash, including the 14-minute-long title track (MANTICORA's longest song to date).

 Southern California's AVENGED SEVENFOLD will release a special limited edition of its new album, "Nightmare", on July 27, the same day the band's fifth studio CD is due from Warner Bros. Records.
"Nightmare" was produced by Mike Elizondo (DR. DRE, EMINEM) and mixed by Andy Wallace (SEPULTURA, SLAYER, NIRVANA).
"Book of Nightmares" includes the full "Nightmare" album on CD, plus an expanded booklet featuring lyric sheets from the band and exclusive artwork — all packaged in a bound book with a silver-plated "Nightmare" crest. The package also includes a limited 24" x 36" lithograph entitled "Death Bat Anatomy" featuring original artwork on textured paper embossed, as well as an instant digital download of AVENGED SEVENFOLD's current single, "Nightmare".

DREAM THEATER\'s MIKE PORTNOY Honored At KAWASAKI GOLDEN GODS AWARDS
 DREAM THEATER's Mike Portnoy was honored in the "Best Drummer" category at this year's Kawasaki Golden Gods Awards (formerly Metal Hammer Golden Gods Awards), which was held last night (Monday, June 14) at the IndigO2 venue in South London, England. Portnoy was unable to accept the award in person since DREAM THEATER is currently on the road in North America as the support act for IRON MAIDEN, but managed to send in a videotaped message, which can be viewed below.

DEEP PURPLE Singer Presented With Icon Of Our Lady Of Vladimir
 According to Interfax, rector of two Moscow churches Hegumen Sergy (Rybko) presented the Icon of Our Lady of Vladimir to DEEP PURPLE frontman Ian Gillan.
The renowned missionary and the legendary musician met at the Rock on the Volga festival, which took place on Russia Day and attracted about 200,000 spectators.

 Classic NWOBHM act PRAYING MANTIS have checked in with the following Sweden Rock Festival update:
"Heya people,
Just to let you know that we are all back on UK soil, tired and rocked out. We personally would like to thank you all for your support and for joining us for both sets, we really appreciate this.
The live set on the DIO stage which took place June 11th was dubious due to the weather, but the sun soon came out and we had so much fun rocking. For the Saturday acoustic set on the Rockklassiker Stage, we were outstanded by the amount of people who came out and supported us and also joined in with the singing. We really appreciate you all, thank you again and look forward to seeing you very shortly.

CROWBAR Sign With E1 Music; New Album Slated For Fall Release
 Sludge metal legends CROWBAR have signed a worldwide deal with E1 Music. The band will be releasing a new full-length album later this fall.
"Crowbar is very excited to have landed this deal with E1 Music! We have always been very proud of what we do and the new record will not disappoint and of our die hard fans", says front man and guitar player Kirk Windstein.
The forthcoming album will be the follow up to the band’s last album, Lifesblood For The Downtrodden, which was released in 2005.
Windstein continues, "Big thanks to Jamey Jasta, Steve Ross and the legal team at E1 Music. Get ready, with a real label behind us we will crush!"
E1 Music Vice President of Metal Scott Givens adds, "Crowbar have influenced a generation of great bands and E1 is fully committed to making this the band’s biggest selling record of its long and storied career."
Kirk Windstein formed Crowbar in 1991. Since that time, the band's sound has profoundly influenced a new generation of metal acts the world over. Weinstein is also a key member of KINGDOM OF SORROW (with HATEBREED front man Jamey Jasta) and DOWN.

ALERION Announces New Keyboardist
 Dutch female-fronted progressive metallers ALERION have announced the addition of keyboardist Nathalia Hoogkamer to the group's ranks.
Commented the band: "After auditioning several keyboardists, Nathalia was asked to join the band on May 17th. Formerly, Nathalia was a member of folk metal band THRONAR from Arnhem, The Netherlands, with whom she performed on many gigs. With THRONAR, Nathalia released two albums: 2008's 'Unleash The Fire' and 2005's 'For Death And Glory'.
"We are happy to have her in ALERION and look forward to creating new music with her. Furthermore, we are now able to finish the writing process of the new songs 'A Life Less Ordinary', 'Colourblind' and 'Chains Of The Collective'. We'll add them to our live set as soon as they're done."
Added Nathalia: "After THRONAR broke up, I've been busy giving piano lessons. But my my, did I miss the stage and a good band around me! Then ALERION came on my path: great musicians, great people. I'm glad to have the honour to be part of the band. Let's make some music!"
