POWERWORLD Parts Ways With Drummer

German melodic metal band POWERWORLD, the brainchild of former FREEDOM CALL and MOON'DOC bassist Ilker Ersin, has parted ways with drummer Jürgen Lucas. The drum tracks on the group's new CD, which is currently being recorded for an early 2010 release via Metal Haven, are being laid down by Simon Michael of SUBWAY TO SALLY.

Entitled "Human Parasite", POWERWORLD's follow-up to last year's self-titled effort will contain "12 brand new, mind-hammering groovy songs," according to a press release.

After his departure from FREEDOM CALL in the middle of 2005, Ersin decided to follow a different musical path and started to work on a project that contained more grooves and less power metal influences.

RAMMSTEIN: New Album Title, Artwork Revealed

RAMMSTEIN, the Berlin, Germany-based industrial metal sextet well known for its controversial and fiery live performances, has set "Liebe Ist Für Alle Da" as the title of its new album, due in the U.S. on October 20 via Vagrant Records (October 16 in Germany). The band's first new album in four years contains 11 songs which were once again mixed and mastered by Jacob Hellner in Stockholm, Sweden. Pre-production for the new release was done at Castle Beerenstedt in eastern Germany's Halle/Saale while the bulk of the recording was done in late 2008 at Northern California's Sonoma Mountain Studio.

EVENTIDE: In Recording Mode

Swedish metallers EVENTIDE have entered the studio to begin recording their sophomore full-length album, tentatively due next year. The band states, "Finally, after little over a month, the drums are recorded! The process is extremely slow as we only have time to record a couple of hours each week. The album will contain 13 songs and we'll hopefully start recording bass and guitars in a couple of weeks!"

EVENTIDE released a promotional CD last year entitled "Planet Plague". The effort contains four tracks and was made available for free on the band's web site and MySpace page.

EVENTIDE's debut album, "Diaries from the Gallows", was released in October 2006 via Cartel Media. The CD was recorded at Los Angered studios in Gothenburg, Sweden.

SCAR SYMMETRY: New Song Available For Streaming

METAL BLADE Inks Distribution Deal With SONY

Sony Music Entertainment Germany GmbH and Metal Blade Records Inc. have entered into a long-term, exclusive distribution deal.

With immediate effect, Sony Music will take over the physical distribution of all new releases from Metal Blade Records in Germany and Austria. The back catalog will gradually be taken over as well. This deal ensures Metal Blade Records a bright future in an ever-changing market.

RAMMSTEIN: \'Pussy\' Single Artwork Unveiled

RAMMSTEIN, the Berlin, Germany-based industrial metal sextet well known for its controversial and fiery live performances, will release a new single, "Pussy", on September 18. It will be made available a two-song digipack, also featuring the track "Rammlied" as the B-side. A video for "Pussy" was recently shot with renowned Swedish director Jonas Åkerlund, who has previously worked with METALLICA, SATYRICON, MADONNA and THE PRODIGY, among others.

MAEL MÓRDHA: New Album Delayed Until Next Year

MAEL MÓRDHA — the world's only "Gaelic doom metal" band — has issued the following update:

"Due to some 'internal restructuring' in our label, Grau Records, our album, 'Manannán', is now not going to be released until next year. When next year we cannot tell you. When they decide to let us know the release date, you'll be the first to know.

"Our Irish dates are still confirmed with the exception of the Waterford date which seems to be in doubt (but this was in no way related to the album launch). We were planning on airing some of the songs off of our new album and still intend on doing this along with a health mix from 'Cluain Tarbh' and 'Gealtacht Mael Mórdha'.

THE AGONIST Frontwoman To Guest On New SLAVES ON DOPE Album

THE AGONIST vocalist Alissa White-Gluz has recorded a guest appearance on a new song from the reunited SLAVES ON DOPE.

SLAVES ON DOPE vocalist Jason Rockman and guitarist Kevin Jardine recently reformed the group and are encouraging "old fans and possible new ones" to join them at their new Facebook page.

SLAVES ON DOPE's "Inches from the Mainline" album was released through Ozzy Osbourne's now-defunct Divine Recordings label. After Divine Recordings lost its distribution deal with EMI's Priority Records, the band was left without a label. After a long search, a deal was struck with Bieler Bros. Records. SLAVES ON DOPE's second major album, "Metafour", was released in 2003.

In March 2004, SLAVES ON DOPE announced it was going on hiatus due to Jason Rockman leaving the band.

LACUNA COIL\'s \'I Like It\' Digital Single To Feature Excusive Remixes

Three unique artists were approached to remix LACUNA COIL's "I Like It" track for an upcoming single, to be made available digitally only on September 21 in Europe and Australia.

Interface: One of New York's longest-running electronic music acts, Interface combines the sonic edge of industrial, the club energy of trance, and a melodic sensibility for a unique experience.

Das Basslaster: Das Basslaster, synthies/samples/computer and vocals as well as producer for electro/pop/emo/trash darlings FRITTENBUDE, went for a more pop mix of the song.

Dan Peace: 20-year-old underground electro/big bass producer and DJ from the Northeast England, Dan Peace emerged from the bedroom mid-September 2008. He has since been knocking out his own brand of dance music and DJing regularly.

ANVIL: \'Thumb Hang\' Available For Streaming

The ANVIL song "Thumb Hang" is available for streaming on the band's MySpace page. The newly recorded, never-before-released bonus track is featured on the re-release of the group's latest album, "This is Thirteen", which will finally be given proper national distribution on CD and vinyl on September 15 via VH1 Classic Records. The collectible double vinyl LP boasts newly re-recorded versions of ANVIL classics "Metal on Metal" and "666". The album, originally recorded in 2007 and produced by Chris Tsangarides (JUDAS PRIEST, THIN LIZZY), was primarily available directly from the band via their web site and at their concerts.

TESLA: \'Breakin\' Free\' Video Released

"Breakin' Free", the new video from TESLA, can be viewed below. The song comes off the California rockers' latest album, "Forever More", which sold more than 16,000 copies in the United States in its first week of release to debut at position No. 33 on The Billboard 200 chart. The CD was released on October 7, 2008 on Tesla Electric Company Recordings. The European version of the album, which was made available on November 7 via Frontiers Records, contains two bonus tracks not found on the American version.

Report: SLASH Was Paid $1.65 Million For QUART Festival Appearance - Sep

According to Dagbladet.no, former GUNS N' ROSES/current VELVET REVOLVER guitarist Slash was paid 10 million Norwegian kroner (approximately $1.65 million) for his headlining appearance at this year's edition of the Quart festival on June 30, 2009 in Kristiansand, Norway.

Quart festival manager Arild Buli would not comment on the report when contacted by Dagbladet.no, calling it "an internal matter" and expressing his concern about "confidential information" being leaked to the public.

LITA FORD: New Song Available For Free Download

A new track from Lita Ford, entitled "Crave", is available for free download at this location (ZIP file). The song comes off Lita's first new studio album in 14 years, "Wicked Wonderland", which is scheduled for release in Europe on October 2 via earMUSIC/Edel. The set will be issued in the U.S. on October 6 through Lita's own JLRG Entertainment label as a regular CD and limited-edition vinyl with different artwork (CD, LP).

KITTIE: \'Cut Throat\' Video Released

"Cut Throat", the new video from the Canadian all-girl metal band KITTIE, can be viewed below. (Note: Video stream may not be available to some non-U.S. residents.). The clip will make its small-screen debut this Saturday night (September 5) on MTV2's "Headbanger's Ball".

Commented guitarist/vocalist Morgan Lander: "'Cut Throat' is about the harsh nature of humanity and how we can sometimes be so mean and unsympathetic to one another. It's about not realizing that our selfish actions not only can hurt others, but it ends up coming back around on us if we are not careful.

"There are no true winners in this game we call life. This existence is one where only the strong survive and we of all people have seemingly become experts on the subject.

"Regardless of the heavy nature of the song, we actually had an amazing and fairly relaxed time filming this video.

"The video was directed by David Brodsky [SUICIDE SILENCE, GWAR, THE BLACK DAHLIA MURDER] in an old abandoned department store in Brooklyn. No Lights. No air conditioning and no water — just a kick-ass live performance from the band! The make-up artist didn't really appreciate the fact that our make-up was sliding down our faces from the first note, but this isn't pretty or nice or dainty. LAVETT: Another New Song Posted Online

A rough-mix version of the song "Hold On" from LAVETT — the new Swedish five-piece consisting of musicians who have spent the last ten years making albums and touring with such acts as LOST HORIZON, BESEECH, NIGHTRAGE, TWDSO (THOSE WE DON'T SPEAK OF) and SUNDOWN/CEMETARY — is available for streaming on the group's MySpace page.

"Hold On" will appear on LAVETT's debut album, which is currently being recorded at Studiomega in Varberg, Sweden for an early 2010 release via an as-yet-undetermined record label.

LAVETT recently parted ways with bassist Michael Niklasson (ex-DARK TRANQULLITY) and replaced him with Henric Carlsson (ex-NIGHTRAGE, DEAD BY APRIL).

According to a press release, LAVETT's sound is "a perfect blend of their musical ideals. Taking the listener from beautiful landscapes of melodies to a raw, unpolished and powerful rock nirvana. Swedish metallers ASTRAL DOORS have issued the following update:

"The upcoming ASTRAL DOORS album will be called 'Requiem Of Time' and it'll be released in Europe January 15 and in North America February 16 through the brand new German bandpool/label Metalville, created by some of the best people in the metal business.

"'Requiem Of Time' is a mixture of classic hard rock, like on the debut, 'Of The Son And The Father', and more modern metal like on the previous disc, 'New Revelation'. Call it what you want; it contains the best songs the band has ever written.

THE BLACK DAHLIA MURDER: \'Necropolis\' Video Available

"Necropolis", the new video from Michigan's THE BLACK DAHLIA MURDER, can be viewed below. The clip was directed by Robbie Tassaro, who had previously worked with the band on the "Majesty" DVD.

Commented vocalist Trevor Strnad: "We filmed this [video] at the Garden Bowl in Detroit, Michigan early in the morning… We want to thank everyone that was involved for getting drunk at 10 a.m. Bear witness to the horror of 1,000 gutter balls! PARTY ON, WAYNE!"

IMPIOUS: \'Death Domination\' Track Listing Revealed

Swedish death/thrashers IMPIOUS will release their new album, "Death Domination", in North America on November 24 via Metal Blade Records (November 6 in Europe). The CD's cover artwork, which the band describes as "one of the most sinister and malignant-looking album covers ever," was created by Marcello Vasco and can be viewed below.

ONE MAN ARMY AND THE UNDEAD QUARTET Announces New Guitarist

ONE MAN ARMY AND THE UNDEAD QUARTET, the Swedish band featuring former THE CROWN vocalist Johan Lindstrand, has announced the addition of guitarist Jonas Blom to the group's ranks. The band states, "[Jonas is a] great guy that will fit perfectly in this band. He has a great personality, awesome skills and he is very hungry and motivated. All the things we need right now to build up the machine once more."
