KREATOR To Appear On SLIME Tribute Album
Veteran German thrashers KREATOR joined forces with Nagel, singer of MUFF POTTER (a German-speaking punk band from Rheine and Münster in Northrhine-Westphaliato), last summer to record a cover of SLIME's "Alle Gegen Alle" for the upcoming "Tribute to Slime" compilation. Vocals on the track are shared between KREATOR mainman Mille Petrozza and Nagel.
SLIME was a German punk rock band which existed between 1979 and 1994. They were very influential to the German punk culture and their first album, "Slime I", was reportedly the first German punk album to get banned.
In addition to the KREATOR/Nagel collaboration, "A Tribute To Slime" will feature contributions from DIE TOTEN HOSEN, RASTA KNAST, DRITTE WAHL, DIE MIMMIS, DIMPLE MINDS and EMILS, among many others. A May 8 release via Sunny Bastards is expected.

OZZY: \'I Didn\'t Get Involved In The Entertainment Business To Do Fast Food Restaurants\'
SuicideGirls.com about their family's return to television with the premiere today (Tuesday, March 31) on Fox of "Osbournes: Reloaded". A couple of excerpts from the chat follow below.
SuicideGirls.com: When you thought about doing a second show, did you feel like, "What more could we do on television?"
Ozzy Osbourne: To be honest with you, I never thought about it. Sharon was the driving force behind it. When they first came to me, I said, "I think it's not what we're about." Then Sharon wanted to do it and the kids wanted to do it so I thought, "You know, I'll have a go."
Kelly Osbourne: It's something that we thought, like, "What else could we do?" We started something, a whole generation of TV programming. We don't want to do something unless it's equally as great. So we spent a lot of time and said no to a lot of projects — until we finally said yes.
Ozzy Osbourne: What I've sort of learned from it is when you watch a TV show, it didn't take just a half an hour to make. It took weeks, the work that goes into it. The variety show is truly a variety show in the respect that we're trying a lot of different things: some of what you're familiar with, some that you're not familiar with. Yesterday I was doing green screen work and I was there for 10 hours straight, different costumes, different mics. You know, like "Forrest Gump" when they put somebody [in the scene], it's that kind of thing.
SuicideGirls.com: How many different things do you do on the show?
Kelly Osbourne: We all do different things. Me and my father do hidden camera stuff where we took over a yoga class. We also took over a drive-through. It's really funny. Jack and I do a challenge. I challenge Jack in every episode. We have one thing where we go around meeting other Osbourne families. What I love the most is the audience participation and the reaction that we get from just filming in studio.
SuicideGirls.com: How did you find the fast food work?
Ozzy Osbourne: Not to my liking, to be honest with you. I didn't get involved in the entertainment business to do fast food restaurants. These people really work. One thing I've learned, I try not to complain too much about people who have to do manual jobs that you would never want to do. Who cleans up? Who does dishes? Somebody does that job. I come from a working class background. I've never forgotten that. I've done my share of destroying hotel rooms and all of that stuff. It makes me realize they're still out there and they're still doing them jobs.
SuicideGirls.com: What can you tell us about the other Osbourne families?
Kelly Osbourne: People are people, no matter what your last name is, they've all been just lovely people. They live very different lives from us. One of them is a cowboy, one of them is a UFO hunter and one of them is a farmer.
Ozzy Osbourne: Well, the first one we went to was in Dakota somewhere. I think it's quite alarming because I often wondered, when I'm on the road and I'm going around Washington, I go to the military hospital and see the guys who got wounded out there in Iraq and Afghanistan. I often thought, "Where do they get all the soldiers from?" People come from England, New York, Los Angeles, San Francisco, a lot of big cities, but there's thousands and thousands from smaller towns in this country. You don't think that they exist but they do. When I went to this one in Dakota, I said to the parents, "How many children you got?" They said, "Three. I mean, we've got two and one's in the military." I asked if he's been to Iraq or Afghanistan and she said, "Yeah. Two tour of duties." Don't you ever worry about him getting killed? She went, "Oh no, not for his country." I went whoa. Then she goes, "My kids here got as much chance of getting killed as there." I go, what do you mean? She said, "Well, my daughter the other day had a car crash and she could've got killed." I thought what a weird thing to say. If my kid ever come to me and says, "Dad, I want to go in the army" I wouldn't [let him]. I'd just think he must be mad.

DISTURBED: \'The Night\' Video Posted Online
"The Night", the new video from Chicago hard-rock titans DISTURBED, can be viewed below. The band enlisted director Noble Jones (3 DOORS DOWN, JACK'S MANNEQUIN) this time out and the clip's stark imagery is fitting for the track's dark guitar tones and brooding vocal melodies. Jones looked to classic sci-fi/horror movies like "Alien" and John Carpenter's "The Thing" for inspiration and the results are haunting.

GOD SEED Confirmed For HELLFEST; Touring Lineup Revealed
GOD SEED, the new Norwegian band featuring former GORGOROTH members King (bass; real name: Tom Cato Visnes) and Gaahl (vocals; real name: Kristian Espedal), has been confirmed for Hellfest, set to take place June 19-21, 2009 in Clisson, France. They will headline the Rock Hard stage on June 19.
GOD SEED's lineup for the performance will consist of the following musicians:
Gaahl Vocals
King - Bass
Teloch - Guitar
Ice Dale - Guitar
Dani "Garghuf" Robnik - Drums
Gaahl and King recently lost a court battle against guitarist Infernus (real name: Roger Tiegs) over the rights to the GORGOROTH band name.
Speaking to U.K.'s Terrorizer magazine, King stated about the outcome of the legal dispute, "It was a sort of relief. The verdict is not cast in stone, there are aspects towards that decision that are still unclear but we just came to the conclusion that this will drag on forever in court rooms. It will take years to solve this matter if we choose to fight it, so we just decided to let that part of our history die. We don't have time to wait two more years to release albums and continue making music. It's not important that name and that struggle for us. In my mind we would probably still win but on the other hand I don't have two more years of my career waiting on the GORGOROTH name to use that. The new album is already made, I'm not waiting two more years to release that."
Asked how he feels now that his band has announced its new name, King said, "It's actually strange because there's lots of excitement, of course, around it. Because we are starting a new era and changing the name, there's a big symbolic value in doing that — but at the same time it's strange because we've worked under the GORGOROTH banner for so many years. Since dramatically nothing is changing on our part, it's the same thing, me and Gaahl making music and working, so the same things are happening behind the scenes. It's just that we are not using the GORGOROTH name anymore. We will, of course, do some different things in the future; this gives us a lot of new opportunities."

SONIC SYNDICATE Singer Quits
Swedish modern metallers SONIC SYNDICATE, whose sound revolves around the dual vocals of Richard Sjunnesson and Roland Johansson, have announced that Roland (who is responsible for the "clean"/melodic singing in the group) has decided to leave the band "due to personal reasons beyond our control." The group says in a statement, "All of us in SONIC SYNDICATE wish Roland the best of luck in the future and we plan to continue our friendship / brotherhood outside the band. Thank you for all the hard work, and the good/bad times we had together."
SONIC SYNDICATE adds: "Today we have started the search for a new singer. All of us in SONIC SYNDICATE are so full of energy and we can't wait to get a new member / family member into the band and continue our long life dreams. "Yesterday, the five of us sat down and agreed that our search should not be limited to our inner circle. LION\'S SHARE: \'Judas Must Die\' Video Available
"Judas Must Die", the new video from Swedish melodic metal masters LION'S SHARE, can be viewed here. The clip was shoit in Stockholm, Sweden with director Josef Doukkali. LION'S SHARE previously worked with Doukkali on the clip for the track "The Edge Of The Razor", from the "Emotional Coma" album. The band's original decision to work with Doukkali was based in part on the fact that his background was not in music video but in narrative film projects, and that his more cinematic approach would give the clip a unique look and feel.
LION'S SHARE's new album, "Dark Hours", was released on last week via Blistering Records. The follow-up to 2007's "Emotional Coma" was mixed and mastered by Jens Bogren (OPETH, SYMPHONY X, PARADISE LOST, AMON AMARTH) and features guest appearances by SYMPHONY X guitarist Mike Romeo (guest solo on "Behind The Curtain"), and drummers Conny Pettersson (from Earache Records death metal act ANATA) and Richard Evensand (CHIMAIRA, SOILWORK).

In a recent interview with Denmark's Antenna, HATESPHERE guitarist Peter "Pepe" Lyse Hansen stated about the band's forthcoming album, "It wasn't difficult at all to make it sound like HATESPHERE, as I have been making practically all the music on all HATESPHERE albums — and have done so on this one as well. As on every other album there are some small changes, some new territories to be explored. On this one we have four new members, and that has obviously given us some new input. This has proven to be healthy, as I feel that the album has a new-found freshness and brutality. To have a new vocalist of course changes the sound — but in a very positive manner. Joller [Jonathan Albrechtsen] is way more aggressive than Jacob was, and it simply fits the music perfectly. We have worked hard on the lyrics and the vocal structures this time — as never before — and it gives the whole album this final touch that makes it sound, just the way our so-called comeback album should sound. All in all, I will say the album is more aggressive than its predecessor! I guess we felt we had to prove a lot on this one — and on top of that, we simply just had a lot of aggression that needed to be let out. So beware [laughs]! The album was recorded with Tue Madsen at the Antfarm and Feedback Studios in Aarhus, Denmark, in October 2008. We have known Tue for a long time, and he has mixed our last two albums. We, therefore, felt it naturally to make him do the whole package this time. Not only is he a world-class producer but he is also extremely relaxed, and the good thing for me is that he lives just around the corner [laughs]. I think our rehearsals before the recordings paid off, as we were really quick at the recordings. Bass and drums were recorded in three days all together, and the whole album only took us 10 days. We therefore had plenty of time for the mix. End of October everything was done." | 0 | |

Returning guitarist Henny Wolter and Karlsson participated in the songwriting and pre-production, which took place at Karlsson's Stuntguitar Studio in Sweden. The band spent four weeks at House Of Music recording the effort, which was mastered by Ted Jensen at the Sterling Sound in New York City.
PRIMAL FEAR will return to Atlanta, Georgia to co-headline this year's ProgPower USA showcase on September 10 alongside VANDEN PLAS. PRIMAL FEAR says, "We're working on more East Coast shows from Florida to New York. We're [also] working on a tour in South America for August and the first show of the European tour is confirmed. The Metalfest at JBs in Dudley, U.K. [on September 25-27] will be part of the European tour 2009!"

SARKE Featuring DARKTHRONE\'s NOCTURNO CULTO: E-Card Available
SARKE, the Norwegian band featuring Sarke (KHOLD, TULUS, OLD MAN'S CHILD, SENSA ANIMA) and Nocturno Culto (DARKTHRONE), will release its debut album, "Vorunah", on April 6 in Norway and April 27 in the rest of Europe via Indie Recordings.
An e-card for the CD featuring audio samples of the entire album can be found at this location.
SARKE might sound like a new name, and in fact it is, but this grim story has more pages than one first might think.
Formed in 2008 by its namesake Sarke, who has spread his angry art through KHOLD, TULUS, OLD MAN'S CHILD and SENSA ANIMA, SARKE is a mesmerizing journey through dark and soothing soundscapes, inspired by legends like MAYHEM, SLAYER, DARKTHRONE, CELTIC FROST, BLACK SABBATH, CANDLEMASS, DEATH, MOTÖRHEAD and KREATOR.
For this musical quest, Sarke wanted to create music that has inspired him since he got into the extreme metal scene, and thus Nocturno Culto from the mighty DARKTHRONE was brought on board, making the core of the project complete.
All music and lyrics are written by Sarke, but adding Nocturno's legendary voice to these songs, has without a doubt added another dimension to the grimness.
"Vorunah" was recorded in November, and even though the album was recorded in old-fashioned '70s style to get the true vibe of the music,
"Vorunah" ( cover) was produced by Sarke with Lars-Erik Westby. It features the following track listing:
01. Primitive Killing
02. Vorunah
03. The Drunken Priest
04. Frost Junkie
05. Old
06. Cult Ritual
07. 13 Candles
08. Dead Universe
In a statement, Sarke comments on the signing: "I want to thank Indie Recordings for supporting my ideas with this band since day one and to Nocturno Culto for joining me; together we have created a monster."
Recording lineup:
Nocturno Culto (DARKTHRONE): Vocals
