PORCUPINE TREE Signs With ROADRUNNER RECORDS
 Roadrunner Records has announced the signing of British progressive rock band PORCUPINE TREE.
One of the most difficult-to-categorize yet innovative acts making music today, PORCUPINE TREE's music ranges from psychedelic trip-hop to progressive rock, and a compendium of other sounds in between.
PORCUPINE TREE has already been a part of the international Roadrunner family; they have been signed to Roadrunner since 2006 and are now transitioning to all territories outside Japan.
Senior VP of A&R for Roadrunner, Monte Conner, says, "PORCUPINE TREE have been making vital and important music for many years now but over the last few years in particular, that music has been reaching many new ears. Roadrunner hopes to not only continue that growth here in the U.S. but accelerate it and expose the world to the massive talent this band has. I am honored to welcome Steven Wilson and PORCUPINE TREE to the Roadrunner fold."
The band is fronted by singer/guitarist Steven Wilson, who, in addition to his critical acclaim with PORCUPINE TREE, is also known for his work producing other artists, such as Swedish progressive metal group (and now labelmates) OPETH and Norwegian chanteuse ANJA GARBAREK.
PORCUPINE TREE has released three albums through Lava/Atlantic: "In Absentia", "Deadwing", and the Grammy-nominated "Fear of a Blank Planet", which was recognized as "Best Surround Sound" album in 2007.
PORCUPINE TREE's new album will contain a 50-minute long continuous song cycle, along with three additional "shorter" songs. A September 22 release is exected. The band will embark on a U.S. tour to coincide with the album's arrival.

SATURNUS: Line-up News
 Danish atmospheric doomsters SATURNUS has issued the following update:
Martin Steene (Iron Fire/Force Of Evil) has teamed up with Danish Doom legends Saturnus, as guitarist for there upcoming live shows in September.
Martins own words: " Its a pleasure to be a part of a band that i have been a fan of for years, and cant wait to get out and play some gigs with this monster of Doom".
SATURNUS has lost almost all of line-up at the beginning of May "due to various reasons". Current line-up is:

Band prepares to write a material for a new album and for some gigs, scheduled to September.

ETERNAL TEARS OF SORROW: Audio Samples Of Entire New Album Available
 Audio samples of all the tracks that are set to appear on "Children of the Dark Waters", the sixth album from the Finnish melodic death metal band ETERNAL TEARS OF SORROW, are available on the Amazon.co.uk web site.
"Children of the Dark Waters" will be released in Finland on May 27 via Suomen Musiikki. As was the case with the band's previous five LPs, the forthcoming effort was recorded at Tico-Tico Studio in Kemi, Finland.
Due in the rest of Europe via Massacre Records and in Asia through Marquee/Avalon, "Children of the Dark Waters" will feature the following track listing:

THE POODLES To Release \'Clash Of The Elements\' Next Week
 Audio samples of all 14 tracks that are set to appear on "Clash Of The Elements", the third album from Swedish hard rockers THE POODLES, can be streamed in the YouTube clip below. Also available is the video for the single "One Out Of Ten", which was written by singer Jakob Samuel (THE RING, TALISMAN, JEKYLL & HYDE) and Nicolo Fragile and was mixed by Mike Fraser (AC/DC, METALLICA).
"Clash Of The Elements" is scheduled for release in Sweden on May 20. Release dates for other territories have not yet been announced.

THE POODLES — Jakob Samuel, Henrik Bergqvist, bassist Pontus Egberg (ex-LION'S SHARE) and drummer Christian Lundqvist — released its last album, "The Sweet Trade", in September 2007 via AFM Records.

LITA FORD Keyboardist: \'We Look Forward To Kicking Ass On The Big Stage Next Month\'
 Keyboardist Michael T. Ross is preparing to embark on the LITA FORD summer tour in Europe and the U.S., sharing the stage with such legendary bands as JUDAS PRIEST, WHITESNAKE, JOURNEY, MÖTLEY CRÜE and SAXON, among others.
"Rehearsals are going great," Michael states. "With rock veteran Stet Howland (W.A.S.P.) on drums and new member JC on bass, we are very pleased with how everything is sounding. Lita sounds better than ever and we look forward to kicking ass on the big stage next month, covering hits as 'Close My Eyes Forever' and 'Kiss Me Deadly', as well as debuting material off the upcoming release."
The first of several warm-up shows will take place on May 23 at Ricochet in Ft. Myers, Florida.

Lita Ford will release "Wicked Wonderland", her first new U.S. studio album in 14 years, in the early fall on her own JLRG Entertainment label.
"It's harder and sexier than anything I've ever done," Lita said of the record, which was co-produced by Ford, her husband and former NITRO singer Jim Gillette, and Greg Hampton, the songwriter, multi-instrumentalist and producer known for his work with ALICE COOPER, his band SCIENCE FAXTION (with Bootsy Collins and Buckethead and Brain from GUNS N' ROSES) and other rock notables. Lita is backed on the record by drummer Stet Howland, formerly of W.A.S.P., Hampton on bass, rhythm guitar and keyboards, Gillette on background vocals, and its vivid cover art is by ROB ZOMBIE bassist and solo artist Piggy D.
Prior to starting rehearsals with LITA FORD, Michael completed an East Coast tour with Dale Bozzio's MISSING PERSONS, which included a headlining slot at the the Chiller Theatre toy, model and film expo on April 17-19 at the Hilton Hotel in Parsippany, New Jersey, with Mark Slaughter as the supporting act. Dale and Michael signed autographs during weekend event, alongside other artists such as Peter Criss (KISS) and VH1 Classic "That Metal Show" co-host Eddie Trunk.

Members Of SONATA ARCTICA And DARK TRANQUILLITY Form Poker Team
 Members of SONATA ARCTICA and DARK TRANQUILLITY have joined forces to form Rockstars of Poker, a poker team which aims to give fans a chance to meet their heroes while playing poker online.
Rockstars of Poker works together with Betfriends.com and gives everyone a chance to challenge the team totally free. In addition to the prizepool sponsored by Betfriends.com, whoever kicks any of the team members out of each tournament gets special band-related prizes.
Rockstars of Poker co-founder Henrik Klingenberg (of SONATA ARCTICA) explains: "Me and Marko (Paasikoski, SONATA ARCTICA) and Martin (Brändström) as well as Martin (Henriksson, both of DARK TRANQUILLITY) met over a couple of beers at a festival in Italy last summer and found out that we're all really into poker. Later we stayed in touch and at some point a poker playing friend of ours asked us why we don't have our own tournaments."
As both bands have gotten several requests for chat meetings and different online interaction with their fans, they decided to join forces and combine a dear hobby with a little bit of "work."
"Instead of just chatting online which is not really our thing (mind you, we're a bunch of rock dudes in our 30, who like beer), we thought that we might as well play some poker while we meet up with whoever has something they want to know....or say," says Klingenberg. "The best thing is that it's totally free for everyone so you really don't have to be good at poker, but you still have a chance to win some money and prizes as well as ask us anything, so everybody wins."

TARJA TURUNEN: \'Music Really Makes You Keep Your Feet On The Ground\'
 Excalibur, York University's community newspaper conducted an interview with former NIGHTWISH singer Tarja Turunen before her May 2, 2009 concert at the Opera House in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. A couple of excerpts from the chat follow below.
On being a breakthrough female act in a musical scene dominated by some of the most testosterone-laden men in the world:
"I think it's really important to be humble for the music because there is always someone better than you, there is always something new for you to learn for music and you can't be the best in the world. It makes you work very hard. Music really makes you keep your feet on the ground. People can really see if you're honest. That is the truth, they really can see through you."
On how she is perceived by people in the music industry:
"With my classical training and coming from a metal band, producers didn't know what to expect. I like to shock people, though. It makes it fun."
On her musical direction:
"It is a lot of responsibility [but] the freedom [of going solo] is making me really happy. . . I really hope with the next album I will make my sound very clear and my message very clear to my listeners, to say, 'This is it. This is me,' . . . [I] want to make it even bigger in a way that the heavier songs will sound a bit more heavy but the moodier songs will be in the same vein as the first album."

MARILYN MANSON: \'Arma-Goddamn-Motherf**kin\'-Geddon\' Video Released
 NME.com has premiered the new video from MARILYN MANSON, for the track "Arma-Goddamn-Motherfuckin'-Geddon". Check it out below. The clip was shot with director Delaney Bishop, a filmmaker and photographer based in Los Angeles. He has directed music videos for JURASSIC 5, CUT CHEMIST and ENGELBERT HUMPERDINCK. Delaney has also worked on a twenty-minute short entitled "The Death of Salvador Dali" featuring Manson's ex-wife Dita Von Teese, a project which broke new ground in new media, as the film was made available for download through iTunes.
"Arma-Goddamn-Motherfuckin'-Geddon" is the first single from Manson's upcoming album, "The High End Of Low". The CD is due out on May 26 and is his first with longtime bassist Twiggy Ramirez since 2000's "Holy Wood".
Manson has also posted the album artwork online. The cover is a rather subdued, eerily lit photo of the singer with a glowing necklace around his head.

MINSK: Another New Song Posted Online
 Chicago/Peoria, Illinois quartet MINSK has posted another new song, "Means To An End", on the band's MySpace page. The track comes off the group's forthcoming album, "With Echoes In The Movement Of Stone", which is scheduled for release on May 26 in North America and June 1 internationally via Relapse Records. The follow-up to "The Ritual Fires Of Abandonment" was recorded at Volume Studios in Chicago with the band's Sanford Parker in the producer's chair.

THIS ENDING: \'Dead Harvest\' Video Released
 "Dead Harvest", the new video from THIS ENDING, the Swedish death metal band featuring AMON AMARTH drummer Fredrik Andersson, can be viewed below. Also avaialble is behind-the-scenes footage from the video shoot. The song is the title cut of THIS ENDING's second album, which was released on January 30, 2009 in Germany, Austria, Switzerland and Italy; and February 2, 2009 in the rest of Europe via Metal Blade Records.
According to a press release, "THIS ENDING continue to deliver their own brand of death metal in grand fashion with 'Dead Harvest', evolving a dark concept and further distinguishing the band from its contemporary peers. Spanning from heavy riffs and mesmerizing melodies to blast beats and industrial sounds — 'Dead Harvest' has it all."
The recording of "Dead Harvest" saw THIS ENDING returning to Offbeat Studio in Stockholm, and after two months of gruelling work, the album was finally done. A number of songs were written for the CD but only 10 were selected to appear on the finished product. However, two songs that were recorded during the "Dead Harvest" sessions but that didn't make the final cut will be included on the limited first pressing of the European version of the album.
Commented guitarist Leo Pignon: "The second creation of THIS ENDING plunges you further into the darkness of mankind. Here you will find everything from spellbinding melodies to violent blast beats, all spawned from the maw of the inevitable doomsday machine that is THIS ENDING. SAVATAGE, METAL CHURCH Members Join Forces In MACHINES OF GRACE
 MACHINES OF GRACE, the new band featuring drummer Jeff Plate (TRANS-SIBERIAN ORCHESTRA, SAVATAGE, METAL CHURCH), lead singer Zak Stevens (CIRCLE II CIRCLE, SAVATAGE), guitarist Matt Leff (guitar) and bassist Chris Rapoza (bass), will release its self-titled debut this summer.
"It's just a pure, solid melodic rock sound," Stevens says about the project. "It has infectious grooves and its own brand of outright power. To me, it's got great songwriting with a hard rock edge and strong commercial appeal."
Leff and Stevens have a lengthy history, spanning back to their days as protégés at GIT/VIT, respectively. Their first band, WICKEDWITCH, also introduced the talents of drummer Jeff Plate, who clinched the lineup and formed the backbone of today's brainchild: MACHINES OF GRACE.
During a considerable hiatus after the demise of the WICKEDWITCH project, Zak Stevens had gone on to front SAVATAGE (and more recently, CIRCLE II CIRCLE), and later recruited Jeff Plate, who performs regularly with the TRANS-SIBERIAN ORCHESTRA and METAL CHURCH. Meanwhile, Matt Leff had formed TRIGGER EFFECT, and with bassist Chris Rapoza, had toured as an opening act for IRON MAIDEN, QUEENSRŸCHE and HALFORD.
Time had clearly hit the afterburners. Call it chemistry, fate or pure coincidence. A WICKEDWITCH fan suggested that the founding members revise, rethink, record and release the original material, and voila — MACHINES OF GRACE was conceived.
This band accords a shot of rock and roll that infuses several music genres with an innovative twist of smoldering vocals and bludgeoning guitar riffs. Blend that with an explosive rhythm section and you've got an exceptionally powerful elixir. "I'd say we're a mix of melodic metal, hard rock, modern rock and acoustic rock," explains guitarist Matt Leff. "The current rock climate is calling for modern production, strong vocal melodies and memorable songs from guys that can really play. I think we fit that description." Bassist Chris Rapoza agrees: "The CD has an amazing vibe that just flows really well and makes you want to listen to it all the way through. To me, songwriting and recording with that same quality always makes for the best type of album."
Jeff Plate tops off the sentiment: "The music is metal, but not thrash. Rock, but not pop. We could be compared to a number of different bands, and each song will give you a different impression, but in the end the sound is distinctly MACHINES OF GRACE."
That sound is likewise attributed to the talents of veteran mixologist Paul David Hager. Credited with engineering, mixing and producing studio work by acts such as the GOO GOO DOLLS, AVRIL LAVIGNE, PINK and TRACY BONHAM, Hager brings to the table a record destined for the spotlight, and plenty of industry accolades.
Live, this band brings new meaning to the term full throttle. The killer studio version of the music not withstanding, MACHINES OF GRACE takes a live performance experience to a whole new level. Fans will really enjoy the dueling guitar and vocal arrangements, while the second-to-none rhythm section welds them together perfectly. Zak promises, "You'll hear the emphasis on the album, the way the mix very closely depicts how this band actually sounds when we plug in."

 "The Heart Demands", the new video from Dutch female-fronted metallers AUTUMN, can be viewed at Metal-Hammer.de. Some of the footage for the clip was shot during the band's March 14 concert at The Rock Temple in Kerkrade, Holland.
"Altitude", the fourth studio album from AUTUMN, recently entered the national chart in the band's home country at position No. 94.

AVULSED To Release New Album In June
 Veteran Spanish death metallers AVULSED will release their long-awaited fifth full-length album, "Nullo (The Pleasure Of Self-Mutilation)", in June via Xtreem Music (trades) and Metal Age Productions (wholesale) for the European territory (except Russia and ex-USSR countries, where it will be made available through Coyote Records). Ibex Moon Records (which is owned by John McEntee from INCANTATION) will release the CD in the U.S. in September. According to the group, "the style of the new compositions follows the band's trademarked style — brutal and heavy, yet catchy and somewhat melodic death metal with an even heavier sound this time." The LP's artwork, which is said to be "one of the most bizarre, disturbing and blasphemous covers" the band has ever had, was created by American artist Mike Hrubovcak, who has previously worked with GRAVE, MONSTROSITY, CATTLE DECAPITATION, MORTICIAN and XXX MANIAK, among others.
Three songs from "Nullo" can be heard on the band's MySpace page.
AVULSED last year recorded a brand new track entitled "Breaking Hymens" which was included on the ten-CD mega-compilation box set devoted exclusively to Spanish extreme metal bands. The compilation featured over 150 bands and was released in November through Xtreem Music. The song was an exclusive recording for this compilation although it was re-recorded for AVULSED's upcoming album.

MONSTER MAGNET Guitarist To Guest On New THE 69 EYES Album
 MONSTER MAGNET's Ed Mundell has laid down "ripping guitar tracks" for the upcoming ninth studio album from Finnish goth metallers THE 69 EYES, tentatively due in September. The CD is currently being tracked with the Grammy-winning producer Matt Hyde (SLAYER, MONSTER MAGNET, FU MANCHU). The recording process is taking place both in Helsinki and Los Angeles.
Commented THE 69 EYES drummer Jussi 69 (born Jussi Heikki Tapio Vuori): "We used SLAYER's 'God Hates Us All' for long to wake us up before the shows on tour back then, I guess that's where the name Matt Hyde came into our mind."
THE 69 EYES recently completed a European tour as part of the Hellhounds Fest 2009, also featuring TIAMAT and AVA INFERI.
THE 69 EYES released a box set called "Goth'n'Roll" in Finland on Halloween. The set, which contains three CDs and one DVD, documents THE 69 EYES' period from 1998 to 2003 when the band broke into the mainstream success in Finland and spread their Helsinki vampire bat wings over Europe.

SWORN ENEMY: \'Total World Domination\' Artwork Unveiled
 New York hardcore monsters SWORN ENEMY will release their new album, "Total World Domination", on June 16 in North America and June 22 in Europe on Century Media Records. Like its much-lauded predecessor, "Maniacal", the new opus was recorded with producer Tim Lambesis (AS I LAY DYING) and "perfectly blends the band's old-school, beat-you-down hardcore style with a thrash metal infusion resulting in material that will tear your face off," according to a press release.
Guitarist Lorenzo Antonucci states, "[This] is our hardest album yet. It's a good mix of 'As Real As It Gets' and 'Maniacal', but fucking harder. I know everyone says that their new album is the best album yet and the fans are probably sick of hearing that, but I must say this is a pretty fucking ignorant album."

GHOST BRIGADE To Release \'Isolation Songs\' In August
 Finland's GHOST BRIGADE will release its sophomore album, "Isolation Songs", on August 3 in Europe (August 25 in the U.S.) via Season Of Mist Records.
"We are collectively very proud of this record," guitarist Wille comments. "It was a lot of work to get this album done, it took almost two years to write these songs, but now that it's 100% ready I can only say that I feel privileged to be a member of GHOST BRIGADE. I have a strong feeling we have created something very special with 'Isolation Songs' and it is by far my personal favorite of all recordings I've ever been a part of. I hope people will enjoy these songs as much as we do once they get the chance to hear them. If only August was here already! Be safe!"
GHOST BRIGADE's debut album, "Guided by Fire", was released on September 17, 2007 via Season of Mist. The CD was recorded with the group's "house engineer" Mikko Poikolainen.
Regarding the band's musical direction, GHOST BRIGADE previously stated, "There are so many bands and artists that have influenced us throughout the years that I couldn't just pick a few and say we're a mixture of those. That wouldn't do the listener nor us any justice. We are influenced by anything that sounds good, be it older death metal, melancholic pop music or anything in between. So I guess we just collect little pieces along the way, put it all into a blender and the result is GHOST BRIGADE. To anyone who hasn't heard us, I'd say it's heavy, dynamic and metallic music filled with beautiful melodies and a fine dose of anxiety."

TYPE O NEGATIVE: \'Bloody Kisses\' 2-CD \'Top Shelf\' Reissue Out Now

MARILYN MANSON Vs. LIMP BIZKIT\'s WES BORLAND
 LIMP BIZKIT guitarist Wes Borland has responded to Marilyn Manson's scathing attack where the shock-rocker said if he were Borland, he'd "rather set [his] dick on fire than join something that I hated."
Borland was a member of Manson's touring band last summer before leaving to rejoin the reformed LIMP BIZKIT. In an interview in this week's Kerrang! magazine, Manson said, "We almost made the mistake of having Wes play guitar but he rejoined LIMP BIZKIT. That move forever eradicated my feelings on his choices in life as an artist."
When asked why he thinks Borland went back to his old band, Manson said: "That is what I find myself asking when I urinate sometimes. He said he would never go back. If the reason is money, then I'd rather roll up a $5 note and shove it up my urethra. I'd rather set my dick on fire than join something that I hated."
Responding to Manson's comments, Borland told Kerrang! magazine, "I wrote nine songs to be submitted to the Manson record and none of them made it. I was really in hired gun land there, but was sort of being told that I wasn't. So when I figured that whole thing out, I knew I was never going to get an inch into that band.
"I love Manson," he added. "He's definitely one of the wildest personalities I've ever been around and one of the smartest people I've ever met but it's the Marilyn Manson show over there — LIMP BIZKIT is more of a band."

MAN MUST DIE: New Song Posted Online
 Scotland's MAN MUST DIE has posted a new song, "Kill It, Skin It, Wear It", on the band's MySpace page. The track comes off the band's new album, "No Tolerance For Imperfection", which is scheduled for release this summer via Relapse Records.
MAN MUST DIE's Danny McNab commented on the new album: "At last we feel MAN MUST DIE have arrived — on all fronts, this is the album which we always knew we had in us, and we are super-happy at the finished article. 'No Tolerance For Imperfection' was recorded with painful precision and effort, we all sweated blood for this CD and can't wait to get this beast out. Every song has its own story and feel, lyrical concepts are as powerful as the music and this album is the first to feature new drummer Matt Holland, who has added some serious spice to the MAN MUST DIE sound. PSYOPUS Meeting Up With Old Friends
 Rochester, New York-based tech grindcore/hardcore outfit PSYOPUS has issued the following update:
"Last night [Thursday, May 7], Fredericksburg, Virginia took a trip in the PSYOPUS time machine to visit the ghosts of PSYOPUS past. Our dear friends and former bandmates Mike Horn and Harrison Christie joined us on stage to reconstruct not one, but two former PSYOPUS lineups.
"The 'Odd Senses' lineup jammed out 'Medusa', seemingly closing out the set. But wait! On comes Harrison to perform 'Our Puzzling Encounters Considered' and a pantsless rendition of the PSYOPUS classic 'Bones To Dust'. I mean, really, would you have it any other way?
"Meeting up with old friends on the road is always a treat, and sharing the stage with them once again is a great pleasure. A fun night was certainly had by all (except for the kid in front who was accosted by a pantsless giant screaming bloody murder about his cocaine problem). Thanks, guys. It was a blast."

TRIDENT: New Songs Posted Online
 TRIDENT, the Swedish death metal band formed by guitarist Johan Norman (DISSECTION, SOULREAPER), has posted two new songs — "Slaves To Anguish" and "World Destruction" — on the group's MySpace page. The tracks come off TRIDENT's debut album, "World Destruction", which is due later in the year via Regain Records . The CD was recorded in part at Andy La Rocque's (KING DIAMOND) Sonic Train Studios in Varberg, Sweden. Other songtitles set to appear on the album include "Jaws of Satan", "Luciferian Call", "Blackened Soul" and "Black Velvet Wings".
La Rocque has described TRIDENT's music as "fucking dark and refreshing!"
TRIDENT was formed when Norman — who had been "away from the scene for a few years — started to sense a strong urge to get back in to it," according to the band's official bio. "The riffs, ideas and musical arrangements in his blackened mind had grown way too powerful to be thrown into oblivion. The true death/black fans all over the world just had to be part of this outburst from below."

KOLDBRANN Parts Ways With Drummer, Guitarist
 Norwegian black metallers KOLDBRANN have issued the following update:
"KOLDBRANN has chosen to end the collaboration with its drummer through seven years, Fordervelse, due to internal disagreements. Fordervelse has played drums on all of KOLDBRANN's releases and concerts to this date, and had a significant impact on the development of the band.
"Shortly after this occurred, G. Antonsen stated that he wants to step down from his position as second guitarist of the band, as he no longer feels that he has the necessary capacity to continue with active touring. Antonsen has given his all for KOLDBRANN since 2004, both on stage and recordings.
"The remaining KOLDBRANN are grateful for all the work the two of you have put into the band through the years, and we wish you the very best for the future!
"These changes pose some challenges for KOLDBRANN; however, the creative forces in the band are still intact, and there are no plans to retire whatsoever. We are currently working hard on finding suitable replacements, and we've already found some very promising candidates.
"We will return with an update as soon as the last pieces of the puzzle are in place!"

SEPULTURA, ANGRA Join Forces For LED ZEPPELIN Cover; Video Available
 ANGRA ended its two-year hiatus by teaming up with fellow Brazilian metallers SEPULTURA for a massive tour of Brazil and the rest of Latin America. The trek, which kicked off on May 5 in Porto Alegre, included a May 9, 2009 stop at Via Funchal in São Paulo where the two bands joined forces on stage to play a cover of LED ZEPPELIN's "Immigrant Song". Watch fan-filmed video footage of the performance below. Also available is a Brazilian TV report featuring footage of the two bands rehearsing "Immigrant Song" prior to the São Paulo show.
ANGRA's current touring lineup includes returning drummer Ricardo Confessori, who has stepped in for the departed Aquiles Priester.
ANGRA's most recent CD, "Aurora Consurgens", was mixed in 2006 at the House Of Audio studios in Germany under the guidance of longtime producer Dennis Ward. All the tracking took place at the Via Musique Estúdios, in São Paulo with Thiago Bianchi as the assistant producer. Dennis then flew back to Germany and mixed the material, which was mastered by the renowned Finnish producer Mika Jussila.
"A-Lex" — SEPULTURA's first LP to be recorded without either of the founding Cavalera brothers (Max and Igor; on guitar/vocals and drums, respectively) — is available in three versions: in a deluxe digipak with an embossed cover, in a regular jewel case and on a vinyl gatefold LP.

DARK AGE Signs With AFM RECORDS
 Germany's modern melodic death metallers DARK AGE have inked a worldwide deal with the Hamburg-based label AFM Records. The band states, "We are really looking foreward to work hand in hand with this renowned label, which offers us the best perspectives to continue our way and gain the interest of more and more fans worldwide in the future."
DARK AGE is scheduled to enter the studio today (Friday, May 8) to begin recording its as-yet-untitled sixth album for a fall release. According to the group, "Once again we will enter the Eikey Studio, owned by our vocalist/guitarist Eike Freese, who will produce, mix and master all segments of the album as we are still thrilled from the sound of 'Minus Exitus', our last output from 2008. You can expect the typical DARK AGE melodies and some surprises in our sound as well, mainly because every band member was involved in the songwriting stronger than ever before."
DARK AGE's first DVD, "Live, So Far...", was released in 2006 via Remedy Records.

AC/DC\'s Wellington, New Zealand Appearance Could Be Worth $10 Million To Economy
 Tom Cardy of The Dominion Post reports that AC/DC's visit to New Zealand next January/February could be worth $10 million to Wellington.
The top-selling Anglo-Australian rock band, which has sold more than 200 million albums, will play Westpac Stadium on January 30 and Auckland on February 6.
The announcement follows months of speculation that the band, which last played Wellington in 1991, would return, and confirmation by the The Dominion Post that the stadium had been booked in late January for a music act. The scale of AC/DC's show requires 48 semi-trailers to move the equipment.
Wellington City Council events manager John Dawson said because of AC/DC's wide appeal the band had the potential to sell more than 35,000 tickets. Based on concerts at the stadium, including THE ROLLING STONES in 2006, up to 50 percent of ticket buyers would be from outside the region. A Saturday concert meant many fans would stay the weekend. Overall, it could contribute about $10 million to the capital's economy.
A new documentary about AC/DC and their fans, in the style of "Heavy Metal Parking Lot", was filmed from October 24, 2008 to October 26, 2008 in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania — the site of the band's first show in five years. Dedicated fans travelled from all over the world to be there.

NOMINON To Enter Studio In September

"We have these last couple of months been busy working on the forthcoming NOMINON album. Right now we have five songs written and completed for it, plus lots of other ideas (some really sick ones) for the rest of the songs. The plan is to enter the mighty Necromorbus Studio with Tore Stjerna at the end of September to start the recordings of the fourth album.
