BORN OF OSIRIS: New Song Available For Streaming
 Chicago-based progressive metal hybrid BORN OF OSIRIS will release its new album, "A Higher Place", on July 7 to coincide with the band's second appearance on The Summer Slaughter Tour. The CD was recorded at Planet Z in in Hadley, Massachusetts with producer Chris "Zeuss" Harris, who has previously worked with HATEBREED, SHADOWS FALL, WHITECHAPEL and THE ACACIA STRAIN, among others. Guitarist Lee McKinney commented, "The songs are a much more mature evolution of what we were doing before; with the new album, you can expect longer, more developed material. For the fans who feel like they've been waiting for a long time or feel like they're in the dark on it, it's all for the better. I don't feel that 'A Higher Place' is really what most people are expecting; it will be so much more. This is the best material we've written so far and we're very proud of it."
A new BORN OF OSIRIS track entitled "Now Arise" is available for streaming on the band's MySpace page.

KAMELOT: \'Love You To Death\' Video Released
 "Love You To Death", the new video from American/Norwegian melodic metallers KAMELOT, can be viewed below. The clip was shot in Belgrade, Serbia by the team at ICode.
KAMELOT will enter the studio in June to record the follow-up to 2007's "Ghost Opera", tentatively due in late 2009/early 2010. The band will once again work with producers Sascha Paeth and Miro, with the recording/mixing sessions scheduled to take place at studios in Germany, Norway and the USA.
KAMELOT's final concerts of 2009 will take place this summer, including an appearance at the Sonisphere festival in Nijmegen, Netherlands with METALLICA.
SPV/Steamhammer recently released KAMELOT's "Ghost Opera" (2007) and "The Black Halo" (2005) albums as gatefold double LPs. This marks the first vinyl releases for the band.

DRAGONFORCE: Latin American Tour Postoned
 British extreme epic power metallers DRAGONFORCE have been forced to postpone their debut tour of Latin America due the swine flu pandemic.
"We are obviously not happy as we were all really looking forward to touring Latin America for the first time and were all set to go, but there is nothing we can do about it, this has been forced upon us by government intervention.," said guitarist Herman Li. "Work has already started on rescheduling the shows so any fans who bought tickets should keep them as they will be valid for the new dates. Watch out for announcements in the media or online as we will be playing there in the near future, for sure!"

ASPHYX: \'Death...The Brutal Way\' Artwork, Track Listing Unveiled
 Reformed Dutch death metal outfit ASPHYX — Martin van Drunen (vocals), Wannes Gubbels (bass/vocals), Paul Baayens (guitar) and Bob Bagchus (drums) — will release its comeback album, "Death...The Brutal Way", on June 22 via Century Media Records. War Anthem Records will release the LP version of the effort, which was recorded at the Sonic Assault studio and engineered by Frank Klein Douwel (who is also the band's live sound engineer). Mixing duties were handled Dan Swanö (NIGHTINGALE, EDGE OF SANITY and BLOODBATH fame) at Unisound in Sweden.

INMORIA: \'Invisible Wounds\' Cover Artwork, Track Listing Revealed

 MÖTLEY CRÜE drummer Tommy Lee has opened a recording studio called The Atrium. Located on the entire lower floor of Tommy's Calabasas, California residence, the studio was created specifically to provide an environment that inspires creativity and offer a vibey alternative to traditional, commercial recording studios.
The Atrium Studio is equipped to host all stages of a full-blown music production — writing through mixing. Although the facility is mainly for private use, Tommy often opens the doors to fellow friends and musicians to use for their own projects.

THE ORDER OF CHAOS To Release Debut Next Month
 Edmonton, Alberta, Canada-based female-fronted hard rockers THE ORDER OF CHAOS will release their debut independent album on June 5. The CD was produced by Kevin Hoskin and co-produced and mixed by Bill Kennedy, who has worked with such acts as MEGADETH, TESTAMENT, NINE INCH NAILS, MARILYN MANSON and MORBID ANGEL. New KISS Album Nearing Completion
 KISS guitarist/vocalist Paul Stanley was guest on today's (Tuesday, May 12) edition of "John DeBella Show" on Philadelphia's classic rock station 102.9 WMGK. During the interview, Stanley revealed that the new KISS album is almost finished and will come out in September. Paul once again said that it sounds like a typical '70s KISS LP and he said that KISS will promote the new CD with a new tour that will feature the biggest show they have ever done.

SKYFIRE: New Song Available
 "Esoteric", a new track from Swedish progressive death metallers SKYFIRE, can be heard on on "The Entropy League" podcast via Metal Injection's podcast network (Note: The song is played between the 10-minute and the 14-minute, 32-second marks). The cut comes off both the band's "Esoteric" full-length album, due out in August/September, and the still-to-be-announced digital EP, which is expected in June/July.
The recording process for "Esoteric" took place at Powernest Studios in Gothenburg, Sweden. The follow-up to 2004's "Spectral" was mixed and mastered by Jonas Kjellgren (SCAR SYMMETRY) at Black Lounge Studios (SONIC SYNDICATE, SCAR SYMMETRY, THE ABSENCE, ZONARIA). FAITH NO MORE: New \'Rehearsal Video\' Posted Online
 Reunited '90s alt-metal act FAITH NO MORE has posted a short video clip from the band's current rehearsal sessions. Watch the footage here.
FAITH NO MORE will release "The Very Best Definitive Ultimate Greatest Hits Collection" on June 8 in the U.K. via Rhino Records.
This double disc set contains the band's greatest hits on the first CD, while the second CD will feature b-sides and rarities.
FAITH NO MORE rehearsed on March 4, 2009 for the first time in over 10 years, according to a Twitter update by the group's bassist, Billy Gould.
So far, no North American appearances are on the radar, but according to Gould, "U.S. shows are not out of the question."
As speculated, original guitarist Jim Martin will not be part of the reunion. Performing in his place will be Jon Hudson, who played with FAITH NO MORE during the latter stages of its initial run after Martin departed.
The rest of the band's best-known lineup — singer Mike Patton, Gould, drummer Mike "Puffy" Bordin and keyboardist Roddy Bottum — will be intact.

MEGADETH Music To Be Featured In \'Land Of The Lost\' Movie
 MEGADETH mainman Dave Mustaine has issued the following audio update at TheLiveLine.com:
"I'm going to be working on the new Will Ferrell movie 'Land Of The Lost'... and going to be putting some music on that. I went and saw the movie last week and it was hilarious. I loved it. I love Will Ferrell; think he's hilarious anyways. But, yeah, we're getting ready to send some music up to these guys right now and you're listening to some in the background, and then I'll be heading up there this week to hopefully finish all this off with their guys. And man, how exciting for me."

On January 7, MEGADETH commenced the recording process for its twelfth studio album at the band's own Vic's Garage studio in San Marcos, California. The CD is once again being helmed by acclaimed British producer Andy "Undie" Sneap, who produced MEGADETH's last album, "United Abominations" (May 2007, Roadrunner Records).
Tentatively due in September via Roadrunner, MEGADETH's forthcoming LP will be the group's first with guitarist Chris Broderick, who replaced Glen Drover at the end of 2007.

RICARDO BOCCI RELEASES THE SINGLE \"MY WAY\"
 If you like the work of the singer of the band Viper, here is hot news: RICARDO BOCCI starts his solo career, in a masterwork project, with the release of "My Way", a single available for free download counting with the collaboration of excellent musicians. Among them, the drummer from the land of the rising sun, YUICHI NAGOSHI, whom Ricardo met through the internet. "Yuichi recorded the drums in Japan and sent my by the internet. I was amazed by his technique and compromising with the project."
Turning places at the virtuous solos and bases DEMIAN TIGUEZ (SYMBOLS, CEREMONYA) and IAN LUCENA "BEMOLATOR" (HARLLEQUIN) shows all their talent with the guitars. In charge of the bass was the fast and precise FERNANDO GIOVANETTI (AQUARIA, GLORY OPERA, ZYON VEGA).
With an excellent production, mixing was made by the experienced ROY Z (BRUCE DICKINSON, ROB HALFORD, ANDRÉ MATOS). Bocci explains: "Since 2004 I thought Roy Z was the right person to produce "All My Life" (VIPER) but unfortunately we don´t had how to meet him. After André Matos produced the disc "Time to be Free" at the same studio we had recorded, I had the opportunity to meet him: a person with a very good humor, without mention his enormous competence as a guitarist, composer and producer. So, after VIPER´s decision to temporarily stop the activities, I resumed the composition and contacted Roy Z for the production of this single. I was able to proof that I was right about insisting in doing a production with him. The result could not be better!". The voice recordings, strings and keyboards were made in S?o Paulo with ALEXANDRE CALVANESE (EROTIC JULIET).
The mastering was made by MAOR APPELBOWN (ROB HALFORD, FIGHT, MALMSTEEN, REMOVE SILENCE ). Maor has so much experience with bands production and it is not by chance that he was indicated by Roy Z. This is the final stage of the production of a song and many times it is fundamental to the good result of a work. Maor is a very competent professional and I became very proud with the sound treatment. He knew how to balance the frequencies in a way that is sounded crystalline, definite and heavy. Quality that for many would be impossible to be matched together".
The project counted with the special participation of MARK BOALS (MALMSTEEN, ROYAL HUNT). "When Roy Z talked about the possibility of Mark Boals doing a participation, I though it would be great. He is a very talented singer, and besides his discs with Malmsteen, he worked with many other first line musicians. His voice is an influence to all the singers I met. His presence made all the difference!"
RICARDO BOCCI became known by his work with VIPER in the disc "All My Life" (2007), released in Asia and South America, marking the return of VIPER to the heavy metal, and pleasing fans and critics also for his interpretations of the band´s classic songs.

LINKIN PARK Signs Deal To Bring Games To iPhone
 Artificial Life, Inc. has announced a three-year agreement with multi-platinum two-time Grammy-winning rock band LINKIN PARK and Warner Bros. Records to produce a series of official applications for the iPhone and iPod touch platform. The company plans to release two interactive applications per year, featuring the band's likeness and music in unconventional styles; the first launch is tentatively scheduled for the fourth quarter of 2009 pending approval.

DARK TRANQUILLITY, THE HAUNTED Members Take Part In Swedish Heavy Metal Soccer Tournament
 On Saturday, May 9, members of IN FLAMES, SABATON, TIAMAT, HARDCORE SUPERSTAR, MILLENCOLIN, THE HAUNTED and BULLET took part in a metal soccer tournament, "Metallsvenskan", in Örebro, Sweden. Marika Eriksson (Swedish TV4) and film/metal guru Orvar Säfström (ex-ENTOMBED session singer and former member of NIRVANA 2002) compèred the games, which took place at the brand new Behrn Arena.
Commented DARK TRANQUILLITY vocalist Mikael Stanne: "Somehow we got lured into a soccer tournament this past weekend. For me this was the first time on a soccer field since my athletic peak in 1982 but because we put together a great team we managed to get to the semi-finals, ending up with the bronze medal.

BLACK MAJESTY To Enter Studio In August
 Australian melodic power metallers BLACK MAJESTY will enter the studio in August to begin recording the follow-up to "Tomorrowland", tentatively due in early 2010 via Limb Music Products. Recording, mixing and mastering sessions will take place in Australia, Slovakia and Germany. Songtitles set to appear on the new CD include "Two Hearts", "Wish You Well", "God of War", "Witching Hour" and "Far Beyond".

EDGUY Frontman Hard At Work On New AVANTASIA Album
 EDGUY frontman Tobias Sammet is currently working on material for the next album from his AVANTASIA project. He writes on his official web site, "This is not a rock and roll, home-studio project; we'll work with a choir, with a symphony orchestra and — no matter if the music industry goes down the toilet — I'll spend a fortune on creating the whole thing. So I'll take all the time I need, and it won't see the light of day until I am completely satisfied. Some who know my plans said that it's unreasonable to spend one's savings on creating a piece of music these days as the music industry is going through hard times. Absolutely right! But do you consider it extremely reasonable to shoot a man into space? It's unreasonable to spend money for whatever; life itself is unreasonable, because — believe it or not — in the end it's quite often pretty lethal. I am rather unreasonable and therefore unsad."

AMORPHIS: \'Silver Bride\' Video Released
 "Silver Bride", the new video from Finnish metallers AMORPHIS, can be viewed below.
Commented guitarist Esa Holopainen: "Director Owe Lingvall did a great job with 'Silver Bride'. We are very happy how the video came out and it really serves the song."
The "Silver Bride" single recently topped the national chart in the band's home country.
The "Silver Bride" single includes the radio-edit and full-length album versions of the title cut along with the non-album track "Separated".

SEPULTURA Frontman\'s MUSICA DIABLO: Another New Song Posted Online
 MUSICA DIABLO — the São Paulo, Brazil-based thrash metal project featuring SEPULTURA singer Derrick Green, guitarist Andre NM (NITROMINDS), drummer Marcão (AÇÃO DIRETA, DEAD FISH) and bassist Ricardo Brigas — has posted another new song, "Twisted Hate", on the band's MySpace page. It can also be heard using the ReverbNation TuneWidget below.
"Twisted Hate" and the previously released track "Live To Buy" are two of 16 new cuts that MUSICA DIABLO recently demoed so that they can be shopped to European labels by the group's new manager, Tommy Morriello of Crash Bang Booking & Management.
