BLACK SABBATH's BILL WARD Releases Lyric Video For New DAY OF ERRORS Song 'Dark'

DAY OF ERRORS, the three-piece band led by original BLACK SABBATH drummer Bill Ward, has released the official lyric video for its new song called "Dark". Check it out below.

In November 2017, DAY OF ERRORS released its first two songs, "Day Of Errors" and "Blaspheming At Creation" via iTunes, Spotify, Amazon MP3 and Google Play.

The band made its live debut in June 2016 at Gaslamp in Long Beach, California.

The group, which was formed by Ward "in the desire to have my drumming spirit continue to live," also features Joe Amodea on guitar/vocals and KILL DEVIL HILL singer Jason "Dewey" Bragg on vocals.

Bragg joined DAY OF ERRORS in early 2017 following the departure of bassist/vocalist Nick Diltz (ALL HAIL THE YETI).

Earlier this year, Bragg spoke to "The Blairing Out With Eric Blair Show" about what he gleaned from playing with Ward for the past two years. "Honestly, Bill is a phenomenal songwriter — singer and songwriter," he said. "He's written all the lyrics, all the melodies, all the music, all the guitar parts, obviously, the drum parts… It's an inspiration to see someone that you've listened to your whole life, and then you get to actually stand in a room with the guy and watch him perform and write and produce. It's amazing. I'm very blessed and happy to have that opportunity to do that with him. Especially one of the members of BLACK SABBATH. I mean, that's like hanging out with one of the dudes from LED ZEPPELIN, man. Give me a break. It's awesome."

Ward was on board for the SABBATH reunion when it was first announced in November 2011, but backed out soon after. He later claimed that he sat out the recording and touring sessions because of unfair contractual terms, although the members of SABBATH have hinted in other interviews that he wasn't physically up to the task.

It was rumored that SABBATH wanted to bring a second drummer on the road to share duties with Ward, which he allegedly balked at.

Ward in 2015 released his first solo album in 18 years. Titled "Accountable Beasts", the record can be purchased on iTunes.

YEAR OF THE LOCUST Unveil “Sorry” Lyric Video

Hard rock band Year Of The Locust- YOTL have released a new lyric video for their single "Sorry" off of the 2019 self-titled Year Of The Locust EP. The band has also announced tour dates with The Zealots that begin on November 9, 2019, in Rochester, NY, at Pineapple Jacks.

New York’s Year Of The Locust are doing things the old fashioned way. Rather than relying on false accolades and manufactured hype, the band has taken their furious live show and stellar songwriting to the masses directly. Extensive touring throughout the country has endeared the band to fans and peers alike. Their new lyric video single, ‘Sorry,’ is a redemption song; "If you listen hard you will hear Brett Hestla's voice in the background. You'll also hear an EBow. Brian Bond's used it to create an eerie background. The song was kind of a wildcard. We knew we had three solid tracks on the EP. So, we took a chance and built ‘Sorry’ right on the spot, with a heavy riff we had experimented with only one time. I just started speaking the lyrics in the studio and it worked. Things got really deep in the studio when I sang the last line of the second verse. It was definitely a memorable moment. It took Brett a few weeks to send us the final version. He felt compelled to add a guitar overlay in the chorus and we were blown away. Not just because we loved what we heard but also that he was inspired enough to put the extra work in on it. The lyrics are right out of my life. It's about personal growth and owning up to your mistakes, and we hope you appreciate the realness." says vocalist Scotty Mac about the new single. It features guest appearances from Ex-Florida Georgia Line guitarist Brian Bonds and vocals by Brett Hestla of Dark New Day fame, who also produced it.

YOTL has toured all 48 continental states and Canada, whilst living in their beloved P-90 bus, "Gertrude." The sound has evolved to fill the void left wide open by a world flooded with heavy-screaming bands or limp rock.

Cloak comments on The Burning Dawn album: "We have spent the last two years meticulously crafting our new album that we have come to name The Burning Dawn. This process has changed us by giving way to a very different representation of our art, one that this album embodies completely. It is more of an attack than a reflection, and we feel that 'Tempter's Call' is the perfect introduction into this new chapter. Join us!"

The Burning Dawn can be pre-ordered in various formats here.

Conceptually, the record comes from a place below the surface where the sleepless and sinister dwell, and is absorbed by the darkest of dreams and the most primal desires. Musically, this exploration takes the gothic nuances of its predecessor while abandoning any hesitation in exchange for a more aggressive and vehement spirit.

While rippers like “On Poisoned Ground” and “Into The Storm” deliver a fury of soulful aggression, songs like “Lifeless Silence” and “The Fire, The Faith, The Void” offer a darker, gothic essence, ultimately displaying Cloak’s multi-faceted and dynamic musical diversity.

The artwork of The Burning Dawn was created by Adam Burke.

Watch Pro-Shot Video Of MACHINE HEAD's Entire Bochum Concert During 'Burn My Eyes' 25th-Anniversary Tour

Professionally filmed video footage of MACHINE HEAD's entire October 14 concert at RuhrCongress in Bochum, Germany can be seen below. The show, which was part of the European leg of MACHINE HEAD's 25th-anniversary tour for the band's classic debut, "Burn My Eyes", was originally livestreamed via Nugs.tv.

Building on the band's previous "An Evening With…" format, the "Burn My Eyes" anniversary show is described in a press release as "a three-hour musical extravaganza," comprised of two parts: part one consists of a battery of MACHINE HEAD's modern classics, such as "Imperium", "Halo" and "Locust", featuring guitarist/vocalist Robb Flynn and bassist Jared MacEachern performing alongside new recruits, Polish guitarist Wacław "Vogg" Kiełtyka (DECAPITATED) and British drummer Matt Alston (DEVILMENT, EASTERN FRONT); part two features "Burn My Eyes" played in its entirety for the first time ever, with original drummer Chris Kontos and guitarist Logan Mader joining in.

MACHINE HEAD's setlist for the Bochum show was as follows:

01. Imperium

02. Take My Scars

03. Now We Die

04. Beautiful Mourning

05. Bulldozer

06. Bite The Bullet

07. Locust

08. This Is The End

09. I Am Hell (Sonata In C#)

10. Aesthetics Of Hate

11. Guitar Solo (Performed By Vogg. Including "Floods" Outro)

12. Darkness Within

13. Catharsis

14. From This Day

15. Ten Ton Hammer

16. s There Anybody Out There?

17. Halo

18. Davidian

19. Old

20. A Thousand Lies

21. None But My Own

22. The Rage To Overcome

23. Death Church

24. A Nation On Fire

25. Blood For Blood

26. I'm Your God Now

27. South Of Heaven (SLAYER cover)

28. Block

The North American leg of MACHINE HEAD's "Burn My Eyes" 25th-anniversary tour will kick off in Phoenix on January 16, and continue across Texas, Florida, New York, Toronto, Chicago and Denver, wrapping up at the legendary Fox Theater in Oakland, California on February 21 and House Of Blues in Anaheim, California on February 22.

Flynn spoke to U.K.'s Kerrang! magazine about the decision to effectively split the set with new musicians playing the non-"Burn My Eyes" songs. He said: "As I was figuring it out with Logan, Chris and Jared, I explained that I can't even imagine playing a MACHINE HEAD show and not playing 'Halo'; 'Imperium'; 'Aesthetics Of Hate'; 'From This Day'; 'The Blood, The Sweat, The Tears…', 'Now We Die' — or even 'Catharsis'. 'Darkness Within' is a show-stopping moment, every time. We had to think about how we were going to pull this off. I wanted to honor Chris and Logan and not have them needing to learn 40 other fucking songs to be able to pull it off.

"It's kind of weird. We're gonna have a lot of motherfuckers on tour," he said. "But it's gonna be fucking awesome. I think it's gonna be a bit of a goddamn circus. I really want to pay tribute to the guys that were there and built it with me. I think it's gonna break the fucking Internet!"

Kontos left MACHINE HEAD before the release of the band's second album, 1997's "The More Things Change", and was replaced by Dave McClain.

Mader contributed to two MACHINE HEAD albums, the aforementioned "Burn My Eyes" and "The More Things Change", before exiting the group and being replaced by Ahrue Luster and, later on, Phil Demmel.

Demmel and McClain exited MACHINE HEAD last fall.

OTHERWISE Releases Music Video For 'Lifted'

Las Vegas rockers OTHERWISE have released a music video for their new song "Lifted". The Chisel Pixel Productions-directed clip was shot last month in Los Angeles.

Regarding the shoot, OTHERWISE's Adrian Patrick said: "Making the video for 'Lifted' was perhaps the most fun we've ever had filming! The locale was absolutely stunning (thanks to Patten Title Group), the vehicles and girls were drop-dead gorgeous, but the best part was having our family and friends there to celebrate with us; even our mom stopped by for a few! The director and his team did a phenomenal job putting it all together; the final product came out over the top and zany AF, which is exactly what we wanted... We can't wait for this silly beast to get released so the world can get 'Lifted' with us!"

"Lifted" is a wiry riff that snakes around blunt lyrics "about getting fucked up, alcohol, and drugs… it got me kicked off tours and banned from festivals," Adrian admitted. "It's about all of the same shit that got me trouble, and the label thought it was the best single to lead with. It's fun. I've been the guy the song is about. I've lived that life. I've been there. It's real."

"Lifted" is taken from OTHERWISE's upcoming studio album, "Defy", which will be released on November 8 via Mascot Records, a division of Mascot Label Group.

The hard rockers flew out of the traps when they were heralded in their early days by Fox News as one of the best unsigned bands in the U.S. after their debut single, "Soldiers", sold over 10,000 copies. The song went of to feature on 2012's "True Love Never Dies", which has over 26 million Spotify streams alone and has become the band's anthem. They also became the first band to reach #1 on Sirius Octane without a record label and it was their formidable presence at satellite radio in the U.S. that built the band's following.

They were formed by Sin City-born brothers Adrian (lead vocals) and Ryan Patrick (guitar, vocals), on a diet of STONE TEMPLE PILOTS, THIRD EYE BLIND and FAITH NO MORE, with Tony Carboney (bass, vocals), and Brian Medeiros (drums) completing the lineup. The quartet have also previously enlisted high-profile friends in Ash Costello (NEW YEARS DAY) on "Heaven" from their 2012 label debut and Jonathan Davis (KORN) on 2017's "Sleeping Lions". Every single they've released has reached the top 30 U.S. Mainstream Rock charts. Adrian Patrick also featured on IN THIS MOMENT's 2010 song "The Promise", the band's highest-charting single to date.

Since OTHERWISE's self-titled independent debut in 2006, they've unleashed "True Love Never Dies" (2012), "Peace At All Costs" (2014) and "Sleeping Lions" (2017). Along the way, they have shared the stage with everyone from STONE SOUR to PAPA ROACH in addition to shutting down Welcome To Rockville, Rocklahoma and ShipRocked.

On "Defy", they linked up with producer Matt Good (ASKING ALEXANDRIA, HOLLYWOOD UNDEAD) for the first time, commuting from Las Vegas to his Phoenix studio in order to cut these eleven tracks.

"It's a new chapter all around, and we're fired up about it," the singer said. "Matt is the most creative, prolific producer we've ever worked with. He's the kind of guy we've always wanted in our corner."

The opener "Bad Trip" kicks down the door with ominous electronics and glitchy echoes before a hard-hitting and hypnotic chant. "It serves as a commentary on the current nebulous state of affairs we find ourselves mired in a as a nation…as human beings on this planet." Elsewhere, "Don't Even" takes no prisoners with a stranglehold groove and knockout chorus. "We were without a label and back to being a garage band," recalled Adrian. The anthemic "Ain't Done Yet" doubles as "OTHERWISE's mission statement." Meanwhile, the emotionally charged closer "Good Fight" strikes a different chord with its orchestral build up and soaring refrain. "It's for my wife and sons as well as all of our families and friends who've had our backs in this crazy life by music," smiled Adrian. "It's the last one we did. My dad always said, 'You've got to fight the good fight'. I felt some deeper connection to the phrase. It's like it came from eons and generations ago. This notion of fighting the good fight is part of our DNA."

"When you listen to the record, I hope you go, 'I did not expect that'," Adrian left off. "It's personal. This is my fucking life. There's no turning back. This band is the future of my family. It means everything to me — and all of us. This is OTHERWISE."

"Defy" track listing:

01. Bad Trip

02. Money

03. Crossfire

04. Lifted

05. Picking At Bones

06. Ain't Done Yet

07. Goliath

08. Don't Even

09. Fame and Miss Fortune

10. Unbreakable

11. Good Fight

CYHRA - "Battle From Within" Guitar Playthrough Video Posted

Cyhra will release their sophomore album, No Halos In Hell, on November 15 via Nuclear Blast. Recently, the band released their second single "Battle From Within" and today they unveil the guitar playthrough video of that song. Check it out below.

Says vocalist Jake E: "For over 10 years I pushed my feelings aside. I thought I was strong... but in reality I just kept digging that hole deeper and deeper. One day during the writing process of No Halos In Hell, I was sitting by the piano, and while I was singing some gibberish to make up a vocal line for one of the songs, I felt something. And when I went back to listen to what I had just recorded, I realized that this was more than just gibberish to me. I guess it was my own mind that started to process things.

"My brother, Fredrik, was taken away from me and my family way too early. Just as so many other human beings who decide every year to leave this earth on their own initiative.

"When we discussed the video, I really didn't "just" wanna do another normal lyric video. My Fiancee came up with the brilliant idea to involve the fans. We contacted our fanbase through our social media platforms, and the response was truly beyond overwhelming. We got more participants that we could fit in! The subject was close to our fans hearts - and I am eternally grateful for their participation!

"My brother was strong, funny, and full of life and loved to work on his boat. This song is for people like my brother. I want them to hear this song before it's too late. We only have one life! And even if you sometimes feel as though life isn't worth fighting for, trust me, it is! When I look at my kids I can't stop thinking about what a fantastic uncle he would have been, and it hurts me that he was never able to meet them. I know how much they would have loved him.

"My parents lost a son. And me and my sister lost a brother. He is forever missed and loved as we keep fighting our battle from within."

Founded by vocalist Jake E (ex-Amaranthe) and guitarist Jesper Strömblad (ex-In Flames), Cyhra has gone from being reminiscent of the duo's former bands to having a unique identity. In fact, No Halos In Hell is one of those rare albums that defies being neatly placed in a genre box; coming out heavy and dynamic, the record is loaded with melodic vocal hooks that stay nailed to the brain for days, achieving maximum impact throughout. Fusing a relentless energy and heaviness the best way possible was Cyhra's main focus this time out. The addition of guitarist Euge Valovirta (ex-Shining) as a full member has raised the creative process to a level where, according to Jake E, "Everyone is playing to the point of what is best for the song.” No Halos In Hell is one of those rare albums that defies being neatly placed in a genre box: delivering tunes that are both heavy and dynamic, the record is loaded with melodic vocal hooks and musical ear-worms.

Produced by Jacob Hansen and co-produced by the band's very own Jake E, the album is filled with 12 live-oriented songs, ensuring maximum catchiness.

No Halos In Hell will be available as 2 CD digipak, black vinyl or download on November 15. The bonus CD included in the limited digipak includes six additional songs, three of them being exclusive acoustic versions. You can pre-order the format of your choice here.

Tracklisting:

"No Halos In Hell"
"Battle From Within"
"I Am The One"
"Bye Bye Forever"
"Dreams Gone Wrong"

TOTO To Call It Quits After Finishing 40th-Anniversary Tour In Philadelphia

TOTO's founding guitarist Steve Lukather has told The Morning Call in a new interview that the band's current lineup — which also includes other founding members Steve Porcaro and, until recently, David Paich, as well as longtime vocalist Joseph Williams — will be over once the group's 40th-anniversary tour ends on October 20 in Philadelphia.

"I don't know what the future-future's gonna be, but I do know that's gonna be the last show in Philly for the foreseeable future," he said. "And certainly the end of this configuration of TOTO."

Speaking about the possibility of TOTO returning again with a different lineup, Steve said: "I don't know, man. I can't predict the future. I can tell you that this version is dead October 20… We gotta take a break from all this. We were beat up really badly and we gotta heal and figure out what's going on. I mean, the music's still there. I'm not saying I'm never gonna play this music again — that would be stupid to say; that would be a lie. I can play whatever I want from my entire career with whomever I want to, and so can everybody else. But I don't know what that is yet."

He continued: "We've been working really hard for a really long time if you look at the last 10 years of touring for the band, we've toured more than we ever have. We're playing better than ever. That's the irony. ... The band, we're playing great. When we walk on stage, man, it's like we're kids again, and we just give it all we got. It keeps you youthful inside. I feel great — I feel better than I did when I was 40, you know? As far as physically and playing-wise, the band's matured. We're playing together. It's fun — I'm having a great time. And that two hours plus on stage is what we're out here to do. That's our big payoff. We don't get paid for that — we get paid for the other 20 hours a day where we're in a very nice little prison called a hotel room. 've been on the road my whole life. Going out and seeing the sights — I've kind of done that, you know?"

Few ensembles in the history of recorded music have individually or collectively had a larger imprint on pop culture than the members of TOTO. As individuals, the band members can be heard on an astonishing 5000 albums that together amass a sales history of a half a billion albums. Amongst these recordings, NARAS applauded the performances with more than 200 Grammy nominations. Collectively, TOTO has over a billion streams worldwide on all streaming services.

With over 40 years together and literally thousands of credits, including the biggest-selling album of all time, Michael Jackson's "Thriller", and accolades to their names, TOTO remains one of the top-selling touring and recording acts in the world. They are the benchmark by which many artists base their sound and production, and they continue to transcend the standards set by the entire music community, being simply synonymous with musical credibility. Their repertoire continues to be current via high profile usage on broadcast television. They are pop culture, and are one of the few 1970s bands that have endured the changing trends and styles to a career enjoy a multi-generational worldwide fan base.

2018 was a banner year and the 40th anniversary for TOTO, which celebrated the occasion by embarking on its longest world tour in years. The band performed for hundreds of thousands of fans across Europe and North America, as their level of global critical mass reached new heights largely fueled by a rediscovery of favorites from their beloved repertoire.

DEF LEPPARD To Issue Recording Of 1980 Concert As Part Of 'Celebratory Release'

DEF LEPPARD is planning to issue a recording of an 1980 concert as part of a new "celebratory release." The effort will be the group's first live album to feature guitarist Pete Willis, who was replaced by Phil Collen in 1982.

Singer Joe Elliott told SiriusXM's "Trunk Nation" show that the new live disc has been in the works for quite some time. "We thought about this about a year and a half ago," he said (see video below). "And there's gonna be a celebratory release. I don't know how much of this I can say right now. I might be breaking protocol. But I will say this much: there's a companion piece to 'On Through The Night', there's a brand-new, just-mixed live performance from the Oxford Theatre from 1980, which has never been heard ever."

According to Joe, the recording will be a true representation of the show, with no studio trickery added after the fact. "It's warts and all," he said. "It is what it is. It's us live in 1980. We were discussing off-mic about lip-syncing or overdubbing ... You can't expect a 59-year-old me to go in and clean up a 20-year-old vocal. You know what I mean? So, it is what it is. But I tell you this much: the band… As I said in the liner notes, when you peer through the curtain of uncertainty that my voice was back in those days, there is a fantastic band onstage. And the two-armed Rick Allen with Sav [bassist Rick Savage] was some rhythm section to come, considering he was 16 years old and Sav was 17, I think — maybe 18. And Pete and Steve [Clark] were 17 and 18 years old. It was some band."

According to Setlist, DEF LEPPARD's April 26, 1980 concert at the New Theatre Oxford (then called the Apollo) featured a 15-song setlist which included all 11 of "On Through The Night"'s tracks, plus two songs that appeared on the 1981 follow-up "High 'N' Dry" ("Lady Strange" and "Let It Go"), "Good Morning Freedom" (the B-side to "Hello America") and "Medicine Man", which eventually morphed into "Rock! Rock! (Till You Drop)" and appeared on 1983's "Pyromania" album.

This past spring, Phil Collen said that DEF LEPPARD had a "bunch of songs" in the works for its 12th studio album, which the band began working on last year.

DEF LEPPARD's second Las Vegas residency took place this past summer. The band took over Zappos Theater at Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino for 12 nights between August 14 and September 7.

The British rockers played their first Las Vegas residency six years ago at the Joint at the Hard Rock Hotel.

DEF LEPPARD's latest greatest-hits collection, titled "The Story So Far - The Best Of", was released last November.

Ex-JUDAS PRIEST Drummer LES BINKS: K.K. DOWNING Is 'Playing Better Than Ever'

Former JUDAS PRIEST members K.K. Downing (guitar), Les Binks (drums) and Tim "Ripper" Owens (vocals) will team up to perform "a full-length set of PRIEST classics" with MEGADETH bassist David Ellefson on November 3 in Wolverhampton, United Kingdom. Joining them on second guitar will be A.J. Mills of HOSTILE, the British metal band whose two albums, "Eve Of Destruction" and "The New World Disorder", were both produced by Downing.

Checking in from early rehearsals with Downing and Mills, Binks wrote on the K.K. Downing's Steel Mill Facebook page: "It was in 2017 that I re-connected with K.K. Downing after a long hiatus since my departure from JUDAS PRIEST. I'd been asked by an American rock journalist to do an interview for K.K'.s Steel Mill website, which introduced me to Jari Asell, the editor in chief. Jari and I eventually met up at a hotel bar for a drink and a chat, and at the end of the evening, he handed me his phone: 'Someone wants to say hello.' I recognised the Brummie accent straight away. 'Hello, Mr. Downing.'

"Ken and I decided to meet up and catch up over a few pints of Guinness in one of his local pubs. We spent a very pleasant evening looking through some photos I brought along from our time together on tours. Guitarist A.J. Mills also joined us that evening and assisted in keeping the Guinness flowing.

"Around about the same time, I was asked to take part in a one-off recording project for the DEVILSTAR organisation based in Las Vegas. This involved former ANTHRAX guitarist Paul Crook, now guitarist and producer for Meatloaf. I agreed to record a new version of 'Beyond The Realms Of Death'. It just so happened that Tim 'Ripper' Owens was playing a show in London. I had never met him before as he joined PRIEST long after I left, so I decided to attend his show and say hello. Next thing I know, I'm on stage behind the drummer's kit playing songs I'd recorded with PRIEST but this time with Ripper. We had a long chat backstage afterwards and I asked him to do vocal duties on this new recording. He agreed, great! All we needed now was a guitarist to play K.K.'s solo section, so who better to ask than the man himself. With K.K. on board, we now had all three former JP members on the same record. The excellent Joey Vera provided the bass parts.

"Fast forward to late August 2019 while on a trip to Ireland I get an e-mail from K.K.: 'Would you come up and join me, Ripper and Dave Ellefson for a one-off show at the Steel Mill in Wolverhampton on 3rd November?' Well, with a lineup like that, it was a definite 'count me in!'

"After a recent brief rehearsal with K.K. up in Shropshire, I'm happy to report that he is on great form and playing better than ever.

"I'm immensely excited and looking forward to this show. It will the first time that K.K. and I have walked on to a stage together since our time together in JUDAS PRIEST and with Ripper, Dave and the amazing A.J. Mills, this promises to a once-in-a-lifetime, not-to-be-missed kick-ass monster metal event of the year."

The one-off show at K.K.'s Steel Mill will feature a full band set from Ellefson's "Sleeping Giants" band, followed by the PRIEST set with Downing, Binks and Owens. Former IRON MAIDEN vocalist Blaze Bayley will be the evening's opening support act. Additionally, the Steel Mill will also host a special pre-show VIP event whereby attendees will be treated to a "More Life With Deth" book-signing event and one-on-one question-and-answer session with Ellefson, Downing and Ellefson's "More Life With Deth" co-author Thom Hazaert, moderated by Mark Eglinton, who co-authored Downing's recent memoir "Heavy Duty Days And Nights In Judas Priest".

Downing, who left PRIEST in 2011 amid claims of band conflict, shoddy management and declining quality of performance, was replaced by Richie Faulkner, nearly three decades his junior.

Binks played drums on PRIEST's "Stained Class", "Hell Bent For Leather" (released as "Killing Machine" in the United Kingdom) and "Unleashed In The East" albums.

Owens joined PRIEST in 1996 and recorded two studio albums with the band — 1997's "Jugulator" and 2001's "Demolition" — before PRIEST reunited with Halford in 2003.

K.K. DOWNING Is Hopeful He Will Perform With JUDAS PRIEST At ROCK AND ROLL HALL OF FAME Induction Ceremony

Ex-JUDAS PRIEST guitarist K.K. Downing says he is hopeful that he will reunite with his former bandmates for a one-off performance at a Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame induction ceremony.

Having been eligible for induction since 1999, JUDAS PRIEST was on the ballot for last year's class of the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame, but ultimately didn't clinch the nomination.

Last week, it was announced that JUDAS PRIEST is among the nominees for the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame's class of 2020. The top vote-getters will be announced in January and inducted May 2, 2020 at a ceremony at Cleveland's Public Hall.

Speaking to Eonmusic, Downing said that he is open to playing with his former bandmates again if PRIEST gets the nod.

"Yeah, that's an interesting one, really," he said. "I don't know what the deal is — if a nominated person like me or [former JUDAS PRIEST drummer] Les Binks gets in, are we entitled to play? I don't know how that all works, but I guess we'll fathom that all out. I would imagine for one day that people can sensibly think, 'Well, it doesn't matter. Nothing else matters. What matters is that we've achieved this.' Collectively, we have played our part, and it should be a moment of splendor, really, and enjoyment, and something that we can be pretty grateful of. And it doesn't hurt, you know? It's often said that funerals bring people together — that's not to say that getting in the Hall Of Fame's a funeral — but this could maybe have an effect that it just gives us the opportunity to get together and get on the stage and just enjoy the moment, really."

Downing, who left PRIEST acrimoniously eight years ago, said that it is an honor to be nominated for the Rock Hall once again.

"Yeah, it's great, because it's some accolade, really," he said. "The Hall Of Fame, it's not easy to get in there. It's difficult, and it takes even giant bands a lifetime even to be nominated. I don't think BLACK SABBATH were too fast, so I guess you have to be of an age… It is a fact that we're 50 years old [as a band], and the last time we didn't get in. We're not all here, obviously; Dave Holland [drummer 1979-1989, who died in 2018] has gone, and he wasn't a young man when he went, really.

"In years to come, when you look back at your career and everything, I think it's like anybody in certain walks of life, in the world of sports or film — you can always look at your trophy cabinet," he added. "I think it comes down to the trophies that you've got really. It's not an easy gig to get really, getting in the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame, and not everybody makes it, and a lot of great artists don't."

To be eligible for this year's ballot, each nominee's first single or album had to be released in 1994 or earlier.

A voter pool of more than 1,000 artists, historians, journalists and members of the music industry will select the new class. Fans will also have a chance to take part in the process by voting at RockHall.com or an interactive kiosk at the museum in Cleveland.

Downing, Binks, Holland, Rob Halford, Ian Hill, Glenn Tipton and Scott Travis are on the ballot for JUDAS PRIEST.

Halford told Billboard in 2017 that he was not opposed to the idea of reuniting with Downing at the Rock Hall induction ceremony if they were to ever receive the honor. "Everything's on the table for anyone that's been associated with PRIEST in and out of the band," the singer said.

JUDAS PRIEST's RICHIE FAULKNER Names One Of His Favorite Songs From TIM 'RIPPER' OWENS Era

Richie Faulkner says that "Hell Is Home" is one of his favorite JUDAS PRIEST songs from the Tim "Ripper" Owens era.

The PRIEST guitarist, who joined the band in 2011 as the replacement for K.K. Downing, offered his opinion during a live video chat on October 13.

He said: "I was listening to the Ripper albums the other day, and 'Hell Is Home' is such a great track. It's really heavy and the vocal melody is really great. I think Ripper sings it really well. It's probably one of my favorite PRIEST songs of the Ripper era. 'Hell Is Home' — I really like that."

"Hell Is Home" was included on PRIEST's 2001 album "Demolition", one of two LPs Owens created with the British heavy metal legends before the band reunited with Rob Halford.

In 2020, PRIEST will celebrate its 50th anniversary by embarking on a special tour.

This past summer, PRIEST completed a North American trek with support from URIAH HEEP.

TIM 'RIPPER' OWENS 'Would Love To' Do A Tour With K.K. DOWNING, LES BINKS

During an interview with The Metal Voice, Owens talked about how the gig came about.

"I talk to everybody in PRIEST — Rob [Halford] included," Tim said (hear audio below). "I had gotten a call from some mutual friends of all of us — of K.K. and David. And he was, like, 'Listen, I think it's a good idea. David's going there. He's doing this book thing; he's doing a tour.' And trying to see if maybe K.K. would do it, 'cause it's his hometown. And 'are you interested?' And I'm, like, 'Yeah.' … When they asked me, I was, like, 'Absolutely.' I definitely want to do it. And it'll be a fun time. So I [am] looking forward to it."

Asked about the possibility of further shows with Downing, Ellefson and Binks, Owens said: "I don't know. Right now, this is it — this is what we're doing. First of all, it's not gonna be a cheap thing to do if you would do [a tour]. So that's an issue. It would have to be done right. This is just a one-off special show. So, everybody around the world, know that… Right now, that's the only plan. It's hard to do it. I mean, I've got so much going on that it's hard to get it done. To me, the great thing for me is I get to tour solo; I could actually just spend my time non-stop touring solo. But doing all of these kind of things is what makes it way more enjoyable for me.

"Doing a tour like this with Ken and with David and Les, I think it would be great, and I would love to do it," Tim added. "It's just a matter of could it work out with everybody's schedules. I mean, listen, with THE THREE TREMORS and solo touring, I'm booked up pretty solid, and that's not even throwing in a [Ronnie James Dio] hologram tour, if we end up doing another one. But I guess something like this would have to have pretty far advance notice anyway — you would have to book it way in advance. So it could be a year later, if it was ever done again. But right now, the whole thing is that's what makes this show so exciting, 'cause it's a one-off show; this is it. We're coming together for this special thing, so it makes it pretty cool."

Last year, Downing revealed that he sent two resignation letters to his bandmates when he decided to quit JUDAS PRIEST. The first was described as "a graceful exit note, implying a smooth retirement from music," while the second was "angrier, laying out all of his frustrations with specific parties."

Downing later said that he believed the second letter was "a key reason" he wasn't invited to rejoin PRIEST after Glenn Tipton's decision to retire from touring.

Binks played drums on PRIEST's "Stained Class", "Hell Bent For Leather" (released as "Killing Machine" in the United Kingdom) and "Unleashed In The East" albums.

Downing reconnected with Binks in 2017 for the first time in nearly four decades. Downing later described the experience of meeting his former bandmate as "great" and called Les "one of the greatest drummers in the world and a good friend and a great guy."

Owens joined PRIEST in 1996 and recorded two studio albums with the band — 1997's "Jugulator" and 2001's "Demolition" — before PRIEST reunited with Halford in 2003.

JUDAS PRIEST's ROB HALFORD Says Christian Right In U.S. Is 'Pushing The LGBTQ Community Under The Bus'

In a brand new interview with NME, JUDAS PRIEST frontman Rob Halford was asked what it is like being a famous gay man living in America as the country seemingly lunges further and further towards the conservative right. He responded: "Don't get me started on the Christian right pushing the LGBTQ community under the bus. They're passing laws here where if you're gay you can lose your job, based on whether the people who run a company follow a religion that doesn't accept people like us. It's horrible. America is supposed to be the world's leading superpower and some of this stuff is medieval. It's not a country where you feel especially safe, and I do think I feel less safe now. You are aware that by walking down the supermarket you might get shot. But I try not to let that stuff intrude on my life. The politicians, the media, they want you to be scared and I refuse to be."

This is not the first time Halford has lamented the Trump administration's perceived lack of support of LGBT rights. In a 2018 interview with the Pioneer Press, the singer, who splits his time between the U.S. and England, said: "Where do I start? I knew I was gay when I was 8 or 9. I've been through a lot. Stonewall in New York, many, many similar things in England. It's been a fucking slog. When I was a teen coming to terms with it, I thought when I was an old man, all of this will be forgotten, the color of your skin, your orientation, your religion. Boy, was I wrong.

"With the current administration, it doesn't look particularly healthy right now," he continued. "On the other side of it, [much has changed] so we can reach this level of equality. There is still a hell of a lot more to be done and it's taking forever. Sometimes it's like one step forward, two steps back. But these types of challenges only make us stronger, you know?"

Halford discussed his sexuality publicly for the first time more than 20 years ago during a 1998 interview with MTV, telling the music channel: "I think that most people know that I've been a gay man all of my life, and that it's only been in recent times that it's an issue that I feel comfortable to address, and an issue that has been with me ever since recognizing my own sexuality."

JUDAS PRIEST's latest album, "Firepower", was released in March 2018 via Epic.

THE DARKNESS Frontman Says GRETA VAN FLEET Has 'Potential To Be Amazing': 'They're Going To Need Some Better Songs'

THE DARKNESS frontman Justin Hawkins has defended GRETA VAN FLEET over accusations that the Michigan rockers have ripped off LED ZEPPELIN.

Despite the fact that GRETA VAN FLEET has managed to sell out shows all over the world, the four-piece has been criticized for channeling a sound uncannily similar to LED ZEPPELIN, with some music fans slamming singer Josh Kiszka for allegedly copy-and-pasting Robert Plant's vocal style.

During a recent interview with Classic Rock magazine, Justin was asked for his opinion of GRETA VAN FLEET.

"The timbre of Josh Kiszka's voice is so similar to Robert Plant's that you can't help but be excited when you hear him sing," he said.

"There's lots of potential for them to be as amazing as LED ZEPPELIN, but they're going to need some better songs.

"When something like this comes along and everyone gets excited, it shows you how little we have to offer as a genre. That's not to slag them off, because I think they have the potential to be amazing.

"They could be the next phase of what LED ZEPPELIN should have been doing. There's nothing wrong with adopting classic rock choreography and clothes, but you have to kick on from there."

GRETA VAN FLEET's debut album, "Anthem Of The Peaceful Army", landed at No. 3 on the Billboard 200 chart in July 2018 despite earning a lukewarm 53/100 score on review curation site Metacritic.

In December, GRETA VAN FLEET scored four Grammy Award nominations, one for each major rock category — "Best Rock Album", "Best Rock Song", "Best Rock Performance" — and a "Best New Artist" nod. They went on to win for "Best Rock Album" for their sophomore EP, "From The Fires".

Here Is A Photo Of EDDIE VAN HALEN At Last Night's TOOL Concert

Wolfgang Van Halen has confirmed that Eddie Van Halen attended last night's (Monday, October 21) TOOL concert at Staples Center in Los Angeles.

Earlier today, the VAN HALEN bassist — and Eddie's son — took to his Twitter to post a picture of his father being approached by a TOOL fan, asking the legendary axeman to take a photo of the fan with the stage behind him.

Wolfgang wrote in an accompanying caption: "A guy asked my dad if he could take a picture of him with the stage behind him, having no idea who he just asked, and that was my favorite moment from the @Tool show last night."

There have been a lot of rumors regarding the VAN HALEN guitarist's supposedly worsening health, including a recent report from TMZ stating he is battling throat cancer. According to the gossip site's story, Van Halen has been traveling between the U.S. and Germany for treatment going on several years now. The site later said that "the sad medical news had some folks thinking Eddie was on his death bed ... but we're told that's anything but the case."

As previously reported, Eddie stopped by a McLaren dealership in Beverly Hills on Saturday and mingled with the sales team, taking pictures and even giving one fan a kiss.

A rep for Van Halen had no comment on TMZ's initial report when reached by Fox News.

Earlier this year, rumors were rampant that the classic-era lineup of VAN HALEN would reunite for the first time since 1984. It's unclear why the tour didn't happen, though there has been online chatter that a health setback involving Eddie Van Halen might have been responsible.

VAN HALEN has been inactive since it completed its U.S. tour in October 2015 in Los Angeles, California.

FRANKIE BANALI Says Making Of New QUIET RIOT Album Was Unaffected By His Cancer Diagnosis

QUIET RIOT's Frankie Banali spoke to The Metal Voice about his recent diagnosis of stage four pancreatic cancer. The drummer revealed in a social media post that he has been battling the disease since this past spring, saying that he is "feeling much better and stronger now" and vowing to play with QUIET RIOT later this month and through 2020.

Speaking about the reaction from his fans to the news that he is suffering from cancer, Banali said: "It's been overwhelming, the amount of love and prayers and support that everyone has shared on my Facebook page and via text messages, e-mails, private messages and everything. I'm incredibly fortunate and incredibly grateful to have this much support from fans and friends."

Asked if the production process for QUIET RIOT's upcoming studio album, "Hollywood Cowboys", was affected by his cancer diagnosis, Banali said: "Well, the album was already recorded. And two days after I had my diagnosis, I was scheduled to start mixing that record with our engineer, Neil Citron. And two days after the diagnosis, I jumped right in and started mixing the record. I didn't let that situation, as dire as the prognosis was at the time, stop me. And to give you an idea of my mindset and my strength, two days after I did one of the rounds of chemo, I was on a Western set in the desert — really hot — in wardrobe for 12 hours. And a month later, three days after another round of chemo, I was on the set for the final day of shooting at a different location. So I just kept moving forward as business was usual. Unfortunately, my doctors were very adamant to make sure that I wasn't flying to dates, and that's one of the reasons that I wasn't able to — or the major reason why I was not able to do the shows with QUIET RIOT."

According to Banali, he is "back in the saddle again" and he will join his QUIET RIOT bandmates on stage at the Whisky A Go Go in West Hollywood, California this coming Saturday, October 26. "And we'll see where we go from there," he said.

When Frankie announced his cancer diagnosis, he said that he was "on the mend" and vowed "to continue fighting."

QUIET RIOT played several shows this year without Banali, marking the first time ever that the band performed without any of the members from its classic lineup: Banali, singer Kevin DuBrow, guitarist Carlos Cavazo and bassist Rudy Sarzo.

At some of QUIET RIOT's recent shows, Banali was replaced by Johnny Kelly (DANZIG, TYPE O NEGATIVE).

Banali resurrected QUIET RIOT in 2010, three years after the death of founding member and singer Kevin DuBrow.

QUIET RIOT went through two vocalists — Mark Huff and Scott Vokoun — before settling on Jizzy Pearl in 2013. Pearl announced his exit from QUIET RIOT in October 2016 and was briefly replaced by Seann Nichols, who played only five shows with the group before the March 2017 arrival of "American Idol" finalist Durbin. Pearl returned to QUIET RIOT in September.

"Hollywood Cowboys" will be released on November 8 via Frontiers Music Srl.

NILE's KARL SANDERS: 'I Haven't Felt This Good About The Lineup And Material Since The 'Catacombs' Days'

Josh Rundquist of That Drummer Guy recently conducted an interview with guitarist Karl Sanders of technical death metal veterans NILE. You can listen to the entire chat below. A few excerpts follow (transcribed by BLABBERMOUTH.NET).

On the current state of NILE:

Karl: "I haven't felt this good about the lineup and the material since the early 'Catacombs' ['Amongst The Catacombs Of Nephren-Ka'] days. There's a real spirit of teamwork, brotherhood, unity, everybody working together to work on this record ['Vile Nilotic Rites'] and really pull it all together and deliver the best we can possibly deliver with this new lineup."

On the value of lyrics for NILE:

Karl: "It's an integral part, an essential component of every song. Really, the song is basically is making a musical movie out of those words. The words are the script."

On the band's current lineup:

Karl: "We're really so happy right now. Things are so fresh for us. In fact, George Kollias makes this joke, he calls us the 'Febreze brothers,' because we're so fresh. English is his second language, so hearing him say that is pretty funny."

On bringing Brian Kingsland (guitar/vocals) and Brad Parris (bass/vocals) into NILE:

Karl: "That was very rewarding, actually. They're full of fire and passion and they want to make their mark. They are smart enough guys to realize that it's the team that fucking counts. No one guy can do it all by themselves. They're ready to do their part and be team players. That has enabled us to put the band on a proper course where it's functioning properly and people are working together, because I've gotta tell you, people working against each other does not make for great albums. It makes for almost-great albums, but I'm not interested in that. I want a team that works together."

On playing the first shows with NILE's revamped lineup:

Karl: "That was such a mind-expanding moment, realizing that, 'Hey, wait a minute. This is actually how it's supposed to be!' I'd forgotten that feeling. It's liberating, it's exhilarating, it's like being part of a winning team instead of a team that's going through the motions."

"Vile Nilotic Rites" is due November 1 via Nuclear Blast. The disc was recorded and produced by Sanders at Serpent Headed Studios in Greenville, South Carolina, with the exception of the drums which were recorded at Esoteron Music Studios in Athens, Greece with engineering handled by Jim Touras and George Dovolos. The album was mixed and mastered by Mark Lewis at MRL Studios. For the album artwork, the band returned to artist Michal "Xaay" Loranc who has worked with the band for over 10 years.

BABYMETAL Lands Second U.K. Top 20 Album With 'Metal Galaxy'

Dance-metal sensation BABYMETAL has achieved another first, becoming the only Japanese band to ever land two Top 20 albums in the official U.K. chart.

The band's third album, "Metal Galaxy", was the No. 1 album in both the U.K. official rock albums chart and the U.K. official independent albums chart. The album finished at No. 19 in the U.K. official albums chart and was the second highest new release that week to ELBOW's "Giants Of All Sizes".

Internationally, the band saw its most successful first week ever outside of Japan, debuting at No. 2 on Billboard's Top Current Albums chart and No. 13 on the Billboard 200 — the highest position for a Japanese artist in chart history — and No. 18 in the Official German Albums chart, marking BABYMETAL's first Top 20s in both territories.

Five years and two albums removed from their viral single "Gimme Chocolate!" that saw hundreds of millions of streams across the world, the release of "Metal Galaxy" proves beyond a reasonable doubt that BABYMETAL has staying power. With this release, the band has achieved its best performing album to date by more than doubling U.S. album sales accompanied by its highest charting positions worldwide. The news caps off an incredible release week that also saw a show at The Forum in Los Angeles, the band's first-ever U.S. headlining arena concert.

"Metal Galaxy" was released on October 11 via earMUSIC/Edel. The follow-up to 2016's "Metal Resistance" is based on the concept of "The Odyssey Of Metal Galaxy".

"Metal Galaxy" contains 14 songs, including include the four singles that have been released over the course of the last few months: "Pa Pa Ya!!", "Starlight", "Distortion" and "Elevator Girl". The album expresses light and darkness, emotions like duality and ambivalence, and "new metal" created by various chemical reactions as other entities evolved and expanded in this album.

Just like the sun and the moon changes the appearance of this world with its daylight and moonlight, with evermore new type of various sound, BABYMETAL's music paints the metal galaxy in different colors.

The album includes five songs that feature guest appearances from worldwide musicians who were perfect to the character of each song.

Guitarist Tak Matsumoto from B'Z is featured on "Da Da Dance". Vocalist Joakim Brodén from SABATON is featured on "Oh! Majinai". Guitarist Tim Henson and Scott LePage from POLYPHIA are featured on "Brand New Day". Vocalist Alissa White-Gluz from ARCH ENEMY is featured on "Distortion". Rapper F.Hero is featured in "Pa Pa Ya!!" PHIL DEMMEL On His Collaboration With MIKE PORTNOY And BOBBY 'BLITZ' ELLSWORTH: 'It Was Pretty Rad Playing With Those Dudes'

Former MACHINE HEAD and current VIO-LENCE guitarist Phil Demmel spoke to Bax Music about his soon-to-be-released collaboration with drummer Mike Portnoy (ex-DREAM THEATER), vocalist Bobby "Blitz" Ellsworth (OVERKILL) and bassist Mark Menghi (METAL ALLEGIANCE).

"We did a record," he said (see video below). "It's not a project, Mike Portnoy would want me to say. And I agree — it's not a project. It was a record that some friends got together and jammed, and we recorded it. It's a snapshot of these four dudes in time. And it's getting mixed right now. So, we'll probably do some sort of announcement within the next couple of months, and it'll be out probably early next year."

Demmel described the recording experience for the new band as "super cool," explaining that it was the first time he had tracked rhythm guitars in 13 years. "In MACHINE HEAD, Robb [Flynn] was tracking all the rhythms after 'The Blackening', or pretty much during 'The Blackening' on," he said. "And it was exciting for me to be able to be the only guitar player and track the rhythms and do all the solos.

"I can't talk too much about it, 'cause it's still kind of under wraps," he continued. "But it's exciting to be able to jam with Portnoy and Blitz. And Mark Menghi is fucking awesome on the bass. I didn't really know it until we were doing the things we were doing. And I can't talk about what they were doing, but Menghi killed it on it. So it was pretty rad playing with those dudes."

Ellsworth recently told Underground's Voice that his collaboration with Demmel, Portnoy and Menghi was "a fun project. It was kind of a summertime hobby project," he said. "Phil, Mike, Mark Menghi from METAL ALLEGIANCE did a record called 'Made In America - The 1970s', so we took American bands that were done in the '70s and thrashed up the approach. GRAND FUNK [RAILROAD]'s '[We're An] American Band'; MOUNTAIN; CACTUS; BLUE ÖYSTER CULT. We put the MACHINE HEAD, SONS OF APOLLO, METAL ALLEGIANCE, OVERKILL spin on the whole thing. It's a cool project."

Demmel, Portnoy, Ellsworth and Menghi previously performed together in METAL ALLEGIANCE, the all-star collective that is anchored by Menghi, Portnoy, MEGADETH's David Ellefson and TESTAMENT's Alex Skolnick. In addition to their semi-frequent live appearances with the group, Demmel played on three tracks on METAL ALLEGIANCE's 2015 self-titled debut, while Ellsworth contributed vocals to one song on the project's 2018 sophomore effort, "Volume II: Power Drunk Majesty".

Watch Episodes 7 And 8 Of LED ZEPPELIN's 'History Of LED ZEPPELIN' YouTube Series

Episodes 7 and 8 of "History Of Led Zeppelin", the seventh and eighth in a series of short stories celebrating what happened 50 years ago, when the members of LED ZEPPELIN entered Olympic Studios to record their debut album, can be seen below.

In January 1969, LED ZEPPELIN was unleashed on the world with the release of its trailblazing first LP. Just 10 months later, in October 1969, the band's equally groundbreaking follow-up album "Led Zeppelin II" was released. 50 years later, LED ZEPPELIN remains one of the most important bands in music history whose songs continue to be discovered and embraced by each new generation.

Guitarist Jimmy Page of THE YARDBIRDS and bassist John Paul Jones were young schooled London session players. Singer Robert Plant and drummer John Bonham were talented but untested English Midlands musicians whose raw musicianship and earthy feel were a surprisingly effective contrast. Together, the four redefined the limits of rock music while magnifying its visceral power, its reckless abandonment and, yes, some of its faults.

"Led Zeppelin I" received a surprising number of negative reviews from music critics, igniting a debate on whether white musicians could play Afro-American blues without negatively exploiting the originators, a debate which would dog LED ZEPPELIN for their first four now-iconic albums.

On January 17, 1969, LED ZEPPELIN thundered onto the world stage with its debut album and songs "Communication Breakdown", "Good Times, Bad Times", "Dazed And Confused" and "Babe I'm Gonna Leave You" displaying great musical diversity, dynamics, and sounds previously unheard in rock, electrifying the masses (if not rock critics) and selling north of 10 million copies in the U.S. alone.

Page told "In The Studio" host Redbeard why he believes LED ZEPPELIN was so successful from the beginning. "I think everyone was inspired in that band," he said. "I think everyone was a star. There wasn't a weakness there. Every single person was strong."

THE DEVIL WEARS PRADA Releases 'Chemical' Music Video

THE DEVIL WEARS PRADA's music video for the song "Chemical" can be seen below. The track is taken from the band's latest album, "The Act", which was made available on October 11 via Solid State Records.

"I'm not one to get particularly excited about music videos these days, but I think that the technology [director] Kevin Johnson and the crew were able to employ for 'Chemical' makes it something special," said singer Mike Hranica.

"'Chemical' is about coming to terms with the idea that all of our feelings — good and bad — are just chemical reactions in our brains. It is both a bleak and hopeful way to to view the world, but at times, it can help us to move forward," said keyboardist Jonathan Gering, who co-wrote the song.

The members of THE DEVIL WEARS PRADA consistently choose to both challenge themselves and the world around them. The group — Mike Hranica (vocals), Jeremy DePoyster (vocals, guitar), Andy Trick (bass), Kyle Sipress (guitar), Jonathan Gering (keys, synthesizers) and Giuseppe Capolupo (drums) — bends and breaks all boundaries on its seventh full-length and debut for Solid State Records. Pulling plain-spoken poetry through distorted discord and dissonance, the six-piece delivers a dynamic and definitive statement.

Regarding the album, Hranica says: "'The Act' is our seventh full-length and the most detailed effort of our career. The process was scrupulous in every facet. Jon, who's played keyboard with the band for the last seven or eight years, produced the album; which is a decision that's insurmountably snowballed over the past few releases. There is no common theme surrounding every song on the record, although there are notions that inhale and exhale through the LP's timeline."

"This just feels very make it, or break it for us," says Hranica. "All bets are in on 'The Act'. We tried to make something outside of the norm for rock, metalcore, or heavy music. We often hear commentary that 'rock is dead' now; I don't think it has to be that way though. Look at the corners pop and hip-hop turn. Artists just need to reinvent themselves and make something creative and inventive again. Reinvention is what we're driving towards."

VAN HALEN To Release 'The Japanese Singles 1978-1984' In November; Trailer Available

VAN HALEN released 13 singles in Japan between 1978 and 1984 that will be collected in a new 7" vinyl set from Rhino. Each replica single features the original sleeve artwork and comes housed in a cigarette-style box. Two versions of "The Japanese Singles 1978-1984" will be available on November 1: a black vinyl version and a limited-edition version of 750 copies on red vinyl, which is available now to pre-order at Rhino.com. Both versions have a suggested retail price of $129.98.

"The Japanese Singles 1978-1984" encompasses the first six albums released by VAN HALEN, which featured guitarist Eddie Van Halen, drummer Alex Van Halen, singer David Lee Roth, and bassist Michael Anthony. Those albums include the band's self-titled debut and "1984", which were both certified diamond for U.S. sales in excess of 10 million. This rare feat places them on an elite short list of double RIAA-certified diamond award honorees.

The original album version of each song is featured in this set except for: "Hot For Teacher", which has a unique single edit that was issued exclusively in Japan; along with the single edit versions of "(Oh) Pretty Woman" and "I'll Wait".

"The Japanese Singles 1978-1984" opens with a trio of singles from "Van Halen" (1978): "Ain't Talkin' 'Bout Love", "On Fire" and a blistering cover of THE KINKS' "You Really Got Me", which was the band's first single and first Top 40 hit. The band's 1979 follow-up "Van Halen II" (certified 5x platinum) generated two singles on the collection: "Somebody Get Me A Doctor" and "Dance The Night Away".

The multi-platinum albums "Women And Children First" (1980) and "Fair Warning" (1981) are represented by "And The Cradle Will Rock" and "Unchained", respectively. The 1982 album "Diver Down" (certified 4x platinum) contributes two singles: "(Oh) Pretty Woman" and "Dancing In The Street". "The Japanese Singles 1978-1984" concludes with "I'll Wait", "Panama", "Hot For Teacher" and the #1 smash "Jump" — all from VAN HALEN's seminal album "1984".

Formed in Los Angeles in 1974, VAN HALEN changed the rock and roll landscape forever with its eponymous 1978 debut album and subsequently produced a repertoire of hits that remain some of the strongest and most influential rock songs ever written. With more than 75 million albums sold worldwide, and more No. 1 hits on the Billboard Mainstream Rock chart than any other artist, the band's record of achievement is hard to top. VAN HALEN was inducted into the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame in 2007.

TOM KEIFER Releases Lyric/Concept Video For 'Waiting On The Demons'

The official lyric/concept video for the song "Waiting On The Demons" from CINDERELLA frontman Tom Keifer can be seen below. The track is taken from his sophomore solo album, "Rise", which was released on September 13 via Cleopatra Records. It's a poignant song about dealing with inner demons and personal issues.

"Demons come in many forms and are different for everybody," Keifer explains. "Young or old, we all face them at some point in life. They are the things that can take hold of our lives and prevent us from reaching our full potential and happiness.

"We, as humans, have a tendency to put off or wait to take that first step toward healing. 'Waiting On The Demons', simply stated, is a song about taking that step. Life is far too precious of a gift to wait. Be it addiction, depression, abuse, mental illness, grief… We hope that the 'Waiting On The Demons' video will inspire and empower anyone struggling in the dark to find the strength within to overcome. It's also a reminder that if you can't find the strength within yourself, there are many organizations and people in the world who can and want to help."

"Waiting On The Demons" was written by Tom Keifer and Savannah Keifer, and the video was produced and edited by Joshua J. Smith.

Keifer's #keiferband consists of Savannah Keifer, Tony Higbee, Billy Mercer, Kendra Chantelle, Jarred Pope and Kory Myers.

Produced by Tom, Savannah and Kyle O'Connor, "Rise" scales renewed sonic heights. From the tasty slide work that stamps "Touching The Divine", the nontraditionally arranged, heavy, dark jam of "Untitled", the breakneck thrust of "All Amped Up" to the tender coda of "You Believe In Me", "Rise" signifies the ongoing evolution of the CINDERELLA frontman as a person, songwriter, and bandleader. It's the aural portrait of an artist who, to borrow a phrase, is still climbing

"When this band came together, we all felt a bit like broken souls, each with our own unique story," Tom explains. "If you ask anyone in the band, they would all say this band came along at just the right time. Every human who walks this planet faces challenges and extreme adversity they have to overcome. As a band, we feel fortunate to be able to face those things together. There is a piece of every band member in the 'The Death Of Me' as well as throughout the entire 'Rise' album."

The common thread to each song on "Rise" is the intuitive interplay between each member of #keiferband, a tight but loose collective that's spent the last six-plus years on the road honing their live craft together in support of Keifer's critically acclaimed 2013 solo debut, "The Way Life Goes". "Rise" is the studio-bred equivalent of a band just now realizing the full scope of its powers.

"We were trying to capture the feeling of what people have witnessed live with this band," Keifer explains. "There's an off-the-rails, real live feel to 'Rise' — and that's what we were going for. It shows a real kind of angst and reckless abandon that we tried not to polish too much. And when we pull it back on the ballads, it's more about the emotion, the soul, and making people feel something in a different way."

"To me, the perfect rock and roll record is perfectly fucked up," Keifer says with a hearty laugh. "You try to make each record interesting and different. I don't ever want to make the same record twice, even though there's a common thread between them. Everything doesn't have to be perfectly in place, but there is a balance you try to strike. Sometimes there may be something about it that's technically not 'right,' but there's a vibe, an energy and an attitude to it that I always try to preserve."

ANVIL To Release 'Legal At Last' Album In February

AFM Records will release "Legal At Last", the new album from Canadian metal legends ANVIL, on February 14, 2020 as a digipak, on digital, black vinyl and some limited colored vinyl.

ANVIL, a Toronto-based group, was formed in 1978 by childhood friends, guitarist/vocalist Steve "Lips" Kudlow and drummer Robb Reiner. Both came from Jewish families and had been playing music together since their teens. ANVIL is considered to have been an influence on many metal bands, including METALLICA, MEGADETH, SLAYER and ANTHRAX.

Though initially a four-piece band, ANVIL's current lineup includes Kudlow, Reiner and bassist Chris Robertson.

ANVIL gained popularity and new fans since the 2008 theatrical documentary, "Anvil: The Story Of Anvil", which is currently available on Netflix.

ANVIL recorded the new disc at Soundlodge studios in Rhauderfehn in the northwest of Germany. Speaking about the LP's musical direction, Reiner told The Metal Voice: "It's just a continuation of what we've been doing for the last four or five years, really. Some very powerful riffs. It's gonna be more smashing, crushing ANVIL."

Added Kudlow: "Of course, it's all fresh and new, but the roots are still very much ourselves. Everybody who liked us before is gonna like us still, and people who didn't like us are still not gonna like us. Ultimately, that's where it's gonna sit, 'cause I am not gonna tailor my music and my songs to the people that don't like us and hope that they will. I'm gonna do the exact opposite. The people that love us, they wanna hear specific kind of tempos and riffs, and I look for those things, 'cause it's really my vocabulary, and I'm gonna continue with that — with new subjects and new things to sing about."

He continued: "I think that this album has some of the best slow pounders and some of the best fast stuff that we've ever done. You're trying to be different 'cause you don't want it to be exactly the same, 'cause then you're just repeating yourself — you're not being creative."

Regarding the "Legal At Last" title, Reiner said: "'Legal At Last' is mainly about two things. We celebrate the legalization of the ANVIL bong because Canada changed its marijuana laws last year, which means we no longer sail close to the wind all the time. That's why the album title announces that ANVIL are legal at last. Our fans have always known that, but the public at large treated us like criminals for a long time." Kudlow added: "'Legal At Last' is our way of telling the public: 'It's okay, ANVIL are okay, you're allowed to like us at last!'"

SLIPKNOT Shares Alternative Cover For '.5: The Gray Chapter' In Honor Of Album's Fifth Anniversary

SLIPKNOT has released an alternative cover design for ".5: The Gray Chapter" in honor of the album's fifth anniversary.

Percussionist M. Shawn Crahan, better known as Clown, who is also the art director for SLIPKNOT and directed the band's DVDs, took to the group's Instagram last night to share what almost became the LP artwork, before he and his bandmates decided to go with the actual final image.

In an accompanying message, Crahan wrote: "Today marks the fifth anniversary of '.5: The Gray Chapter'. This cover was a strong contender for the final album artwork, and represents where my head was at during the making of this album."

Released in 2014, ".5: The Gray Chapter" was the first album by SLIPKNOT since the 2010 death of bassist Paul Gray and the late 2013 firing of drummer Joey Jordison.

SLIPKNOT frontman Corey Taylor told Fargo, North Dakota's Q105.1 radio station that he and his bandmates didn't feel pressure while making the LP. "As far as pressure, we've never had a lot of pressure, because we approach it that way," he said. "We're, like, 'We're gonna do what we want. If nobody listens to it, that's fine, but we've fulfilled something inside ourselves.' So it was more emotional than it was stressful, to be honest. Because filling in the shoes of Paul, especially, was heavy duty. He was such an integral part of the songwriting process and had such a great ear for it, we knew that we were all going to have to step in and fill those shoes in, and I thought we did a great job. Jim [Root, guitar] came up with some killer stuff, I brought in some stuff, Clown really, he brought in some really killer atmospheric stuff that we were able to build into some great music. I think we all really stepped up to the challenge, and I think it was because we wanted to. It wasn't because we felt we had to; we felt we wanted to, we wanted to be able to do that and really kind of make new music with this band again. So it wasn't so much stressful as it was powerful."

Taylor told The Pulse Of Radio that ".5: The Gray Chapter" is autobiographical. "The whole album is essentially the story of the band over the last four years [prior to the release of the LP], and part of that story is that we've had to reach a point of acceptance with everything," he said. "You know, the last four years have been really difficult for us."

The frontman said that the album is laid out like a story, "from the moment Paul died to the moment we stepped out of the studio. So there are certain songs that deal with, not Joey in particular, but about the tension and trying to deal with the ugliness that we all have in us," he told Metal Hammer.

SLIPKNOT is continuing to tour in support of its latest album, "We Are Not Your Kind", which came out in August.
