VAN HALEN To Release 'The Japanese Singles 1978-1984' In November; Trailer Available

VAN HALEN released 13 singles in Japan between 1978 and 1984 that will be collected in a new 7" vinyl set from Rhino. Each replica single features the original sleeve artwork and comes housed in a cigarette-style box. Two versions of "The Japanese Singles 1978-1984" will be available on November 1: a black vinyl version and a limited-edition version of 750 copies on red vinyl, which is available now to pre-order at Rhino.com. Both versions have a suggested retail price of $129.98.

"The Japanese Singles 1978-1984" encompasses the first six albums released by VAN HALEN, which featured guitarist Eddie Van Halen, drummer Alex Van Halen, singer David Lee Roth, and bassist Michael Anthony. Those albums include the band's self-titled debut and "1984", which were both certified diamond for U.S. sales in excess of 10 million. This rare feat places them on an elite short list of double RIAA-certified diamond award honorees.

The original album version of each song is featured in this set except for: "Hot For Teacher", which has a unique single edit that was issued exclusively in Japan; along with the single edit versions of "(Oh) Pretty Woman" and "I'll Wait".

"The Japanese Singles 1978-1984" opens with a trio of singles from "Van Halen" (1978): "Ain't Talkin' 'Bout Love", "On Fire" and a blistering cover of THE KINKS' "You Really Got Me", which was the band's first single and first Top 40 hit. The band's 1979 follow-up "Van Halen II" (certified 5x platinum) generated two singles on the collection: "Somebody Get Me A Doctor" and "Dance The Night Away".

The multi-platinum albums "Women And Children First" (1980) and "Fair Warning" (1981) are represented by "And The Cradle Will Rock" and "Unchained", respectively. The 1982 album "Diver Down" (certified 4x platinum) contributes two singles: "(Oh) Pretty Woman" and "Dancing In The Street". "The Japanese Singles 1978-1984" concludes with "I'll Wait", "Panama", "Hot For Teacher" and the #1 smash "Jump" — all from VAN HALEN's seminal album "1984".

Formed in Los Angeles in 1974, VAN HALEN changed the rock and roll landscape forever with its eponymous 1978 debut album and subsequently produced a repertoire of hits that remain some of the strongest and most influential rock songs ever written. With more than 75 million albums sold worldwide, and more No. 1 hits on the Billboard Mainstream Rock chart than any other artist, the band's record of achievement is hard to top. VAN HALEN was inducted into the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame in 2007.

TOM KEIFER Releases Lyric/Concept Video For 'Waiting On The Demons'

The official lyric/concept video for the song "Waiting On The Demons" from CINDERELLA frontman Tom Keifer can be seen below. The track is taken from his sophomore solo album, "Rise", which was released on September 13 via Cleopatra Records. It's a poignant song about dealing with inner demons and personal issues.

"Demons come in many forms and are different for everybody," Keifer explains. "Young or old, we all face them at some point in life. They are the things that can take hold of our lives and prevent us from reaching our full potential and happiness.

"We, as humans, have a tendency to put off or wait to take that first step toward healing. 'Waiting On The Demons', simply stated, is a song about taking that step. Life is far too precious of a gift to wait. Be it addiction, depression, abuse, mental illness, grief… We hope that the 'Waiting On The Demons' video will inspire and empower anyone struggling in the dark to find the strength within to overcome. It's also a reminder that if you can't find the strength within yourself, there are many organizations and people in the world who can and want to help."

"Waiting On The Demons" was written by Tom Keifer and Savannah Keifer, and the video was produced and edited by Joshua J. Smith.

From the tasty slide work that stamps "Touching The Divine", the nontraditionally arranged, heavy, dark jam of "Untitled", the breakneck thrust of "All Amped Up" to the tender coda of "You Believe In Me", "Rise" signifies the ongoing evolution of the CINDERELLA frontman as a person, songwriter, and bandleader. It's the aural portrait of an artist who, to borrow a phrase, is still climbing

"When this band came together, we all felt a bit like broken souls, each with our own unique story," Tom explains. "If you ask anyone in the band, they would all say this band came along at just the right time. Every human who walks this planet faces challenges and extreme adversity they have to overcome. As a band, we feel fortunate to be able to face those things together. There is a piece of every band member in the 'The Death Of Me' as well as throughout the entire 'Rise' album."

The common thread to each song on "Rise" is the intuitive interplay between each member of #keiferband, a tight but loose collective that's spent the last six-plus years on the road honing their live craft together in support of Keifer's critically acclaimed 2013 solo debut, "The Way Life Goes". "Rise" is the studio-bred equivalent of a band just now realizing the full scope of its powers.

"We were trying to capture the feeling of what people have witnessed live with this band," Keifer explains. "There's an off-the-rails, real live feel to 'Rise' — and that's what we were going for. It shows a real kind of angst and reckless abandon that we tried not to polish too much. And when we pull it back on the ballads, it's more about the emotion, the soul, and making people feel something in a different way."

"To me, the perfect rock and roll record is perfectly fucked up," Keifer says with a hearty laugh. "You try to make each record interesting and different. I don't ever want to make the same record twice, even though there's a common thread between them. Everything doesn't have to be perfectly in place, but there is a balance you try to strike. Sometimes there may be something about it that's technically not 'right,' but there's a vibe, an energy and an attitude to it that I always try to preserve."

ANVIL To Release 'Legal At Last' Album In February

AFM Records will release "Legal At Last", the new album from Canadian metal legends ANVIL, on February 14, 2020 as a digipak, on digital, black vinyl and some limited colored vinyl.

ANVIL, a Toronto-based group, was formed in 1978 by childhood friends, guitarist/vocalist Steve "Lips" Kudlow and drummer Robb Reiner. Both came from Jewish families and had been playing music together since their teens. ANVIL is considered to have been an influence on many metal bands, including METALLICA, MEGADETH, SLAYER and ANTHRAX.

Though initially a four-piece band, ANVIL's current lineup includes Kudlow, Reiner and bassist Chris Robertson.

ANVIL gained popularity and new fans since the 2008 theatrical documentary, "Anvil: The Story Of Anvil", which is currently available on Netflix.

ANVIL recorded the new disc at Soundlodge studios in Rhauderfehn in the northwest of Germany. Speaking about the LP's musical direction, Reiner told The Metal Voice: "It's just a continuation of what we've been doing for the last four or five years, really. Some very powerful riffs. It's gonna be more smashing, crushing ANVIL."

Added Kudlow: "Of course, it's all fresh and new, but the roots are still very much ourselves. Everybody who liked us before is gonna like us still, and people who didn't like us are still not gonna like us. Ultimately, that's where it's gonna sit, 'cause I am not gonna tailor my music and my songs to the people that don't like us and hope that they will. I'm gonna do the exact opposite. The people that love us, they wanna hear specific kind of tempos and riffs, and I look for those things, 'cause it's really my vocabulary, and I'm gonna continue with that — with new subjects and new things to sing about."

He continued: "I think that this album has some of the best slow pounders and some of the best fast stuff that we've ever done. You're trying to be different 'cause you don't want it to be exactly the same, 'cause then you're just repeating yourself — you're not being creative."

Regarding the "Legal At Last" title, Reiner said: "'Legal At Last' is mainly about two things. We celebrate the legalization of the ANVIL bong because Canada changed its marijuana laws last year, which means we no longer sail close to the wind all the time. That's why the album title announces that ANVIL are legal at last. Our fans have always known that, but the public at large treated us like criminals for a long time." Kudlow added: "'Legal At Last' is our way of telling the public: 'It's okay, ANVIL are okay, you're allowed to like us at last!'"

SLIPKNOT Shares Alternative Cover For '.5: The Gray Chapter' In Honor Of Album's Fifth Anniversary

SLIPKNOT has released an alternative cover design for ".5: The Gray Chapter" in honor of the album's fifth anniversary.

Percussionist M. Shawn Crahan, better known as Clown, who is also the art director for SLIPKNOT and directed the band's DVDs, took to the group's Instagram last night to share what almost became the LP artwork, before he and his bandmates decided to go with the actual final image.

In an accompanying message, Crahan wrote: "Today marks the fifth anniversary of '.5: The Gray Chapter'. This cover was a strong contender for the final album artwork, and represents where my head was at during the making of this album."

Released in 2014, ".5: The Gray Chapter" was the first album by SLIPKNOT since the 2010 death of bassist Paul Gray and the late 2013 firing of drummer Joey Jordison.

SLIPKNOT frontman Corey Taylor told Fargo, North Dakota's Q105.1 radio station that he and his bandmates didn't feel pressure while making the LP. "As far as pressure, we've never had a lot of pressure, because we approach it that way," he said. "We're, like, 'We're gonna do what we want. If nobody listens to it, that's fine, but we've fulfilled something inside ourselves.' So it was more emotional than it was stressful, to be honest. Because filling in the shoes of Paul, especially, was heavy duty. He was such an integral part of the songwriting process and had such a great ear for it, we knew that we were all going to have to step in and fill those shoes in, and I thought we did a great job. Jim [Root, guitar] came up with some killer stuff, I brought in some stuff, Clown really, he brought in some really killer atmospheric stuff that we were able to build into some great music. I think we all really stepped up to the challenge, and I think it was because we wanted to. It wasn't because we felt we had to; we felt we wanted to, we wanted to be able to do that and really kind of make new music with this band again. So it wasn't so much stressful as it was powerful."

Taylor told The Pulse Of Radio that ".5: The Gray Chapter" is autobiographical. "The whole album is essentially the story of the band over the last four years [prior to the release of the LP], and part of that story is that we've had to reach a point of acceptance with everything," he said. "You know, the last four years have been really difficult for us."

The frontman said that the album is laid out like a story, "from the moment Paul died to the moment we stepped out of the studio. So there are certain songs that deal with, not Joey in particular, but about the tension and trying to deal with the ugliness that we all have in us," he told Metal Hammer.

SLIPKNOT is continuing to tour in support of its latest album, "We Are Not Your Kind", which came out in August.

Sweden's PARALYDIUM Sign With Frontiers Music Srl; Debut Album Expected In First Half Of 2020

Frontiers Music Srl announces the signing of Paralydium to their rapidly expanding roster. The band’s debut album is tentatively scheduled for release in the first half of 2020.

"The writing process for the new album started soon after our first release back in 2015,” says guitarist John Berg. "When the songs really started to come together, I began to feel that they had a certain interplay with each other which got me thinking on making this a conceptual album. The real challenge was to integrate all the elements, put the pieces together. As a result, the outcome is something more than just an ordinary album, just wait and you will see. Our music crosses many borders in terms of styles, so we believe that Paralydium and Frontiers will be a great team."

It’s fair to say that there are few bands that can or will match Paralydium's deliverance of melodic, rhythmical, and powerful songs. Initially known as "The Paralydium Project”, the band hails from Sweden and is an epic progressive metal combo founded by guitarist John Berg with a vision to create an innovative mixture of hard hitting heavy riffs, textured landscapes, and powerful grooves. Their delivery takes you through space and time for an experience beyond the borders of your mind. RAGNAROK Debut Official Music Video For New Song "Chapel Of Shadows"

Norwegian black metal band, Ragnarok, have released a video for "Chapel Of Shadows", featured on their upcoming, ninth studio album, Non Debellicata, out on November 15 via Agonia Records. Watch below, and pre-order the album here.

The band gives us an insight into what went into the making of Non Debellicata, an album in which Ragnarok's entire lineup of founder and frontman Jontho, guitarist Bolverk, bassist Rammr and drummer Malignant, had a significant input: "Our new album, Non Debellicata, is the result of an extensive process in which all the members of the band participated creatively, both musically and lyrically. We put a lot of work into this album to make it as extreme and violent as we possibly could, pushing the borders of our musicianship and song writing skills. Originally we started out with 20 songs, out of which we rehearsed 16 and whittled it down to 13 for recording. We eventually chose 10 for inclusion on the album, because we wanted to ensure highest possible quality of every song."

As for the title itself: “Non Debellicata, refers to a phrase used as the motto for our home town Saropsborg in the olden days. It is taken from letter Jarl Alv Erlingsson sent to the Scottish Government in 1286. Aside from being a nobleman and the Jarl (Earl) of Sarpsborg, Alv was also an infamous pirate who was in the habit of robbing Danish and German merchant ships.

"The Scottish government had confiscated a number of Norwegian ships and Jarl Alv wrote them a letter, in which he said that maybe they were under the impression that Norway was weak after being at war for several years. But assured them that they would learn that the Norwegian people were not weakened by the war and would never be defeated.

"Non Debellicata. The people of Norway would never give up - and neither will Ragnarok!"

"Non Debellicata" was recorded in Sweden's Endarker Studio, with Marduk's Devo at the helm, and with artwork by Nestor Avalos and photos by Arash Taheri.

WORK OF ART Streaming New Song "Misguided Love"

Exhibits has been in the works for more than a year and a half, but will finally get unleashed to the legions of hungry melodic rock fans that this band has enraptured with their first three albums. "It's been a long time indeed, five years!" says guitarist and producer Robert Sall. "Funny enough, it didn't seem that way. Everyone in the band was busy doing their own thing and it wasn't until mid-2017 when Serafino [Perugino, President Frontiers Records] asked us about our plans for a new album and it hit us that, it REALLY was about time. So we spent the better part of 2018 writing and recording it and here we are!"

Work Of Art debuted in February 2008 with the release of their album "Artwork". Coming out of nowhere, the album immediately struck a chord with melodic rock aficionados around the world. With a sound inspired by genre greats like Toto, Giant, and Journey, Work Of Art quickly established themselves as one of the most promising newcomers in the genre. Soon after their debut, WOA guitarist and main composer Robert Sall joined W.E.T, the project featuring Jeff Scott Soto and Erik Martensson from Eclipse, thus immediately cementing his status as a star in the genre.

Expectations for the follow-up album, In Progress were sky high. Work Of Art lived up to the hype, entering the Swedish album charts at #30 upon release of the album. The next step for the band was to start performing live, which they did for the first time in Madrid, Spain in January 2012 and followed that performance with several other shows in various European countries. Third album "Framework" followed in 2014 and kept the momentum going for the band which, simply put, became the top new AOR band from Europe.

Exhibits is therefore the logical next step for WOA, an album which encompasses all that they have managed to create until now. Offering another bunch of unforgettable songs with soaring melodies (courtesy of singer Lars Säfsund) and amazing instrumental prowess (offered by Robert and Herman), Exhibits will thrill fans of the band and of the genre as a whole.

"Like always, when Herman, Lars and I get together, it sounds like us, it sounds like Work Of Art," tells Sall. "However, with this record I tried to bring out more "old school AOR" influences and get rid of some of the West Coast influences that were on our previous albums. I wanted it to be an AOR album, not a melodic rock album, not a West Coast album, just a classic AOR sounding album, start to finish!"

Overall this is certainly Work Of Art's most up-tempo and straight ahead album thus far, but - as it should be - some unbelievable softer moments are there as well. One notable highlight, legendary keyboard player Vince DiCola (author of the immortal "Training Montage" piece on the Rocky IV soundtrack) is a special guest on "This Isn't Love".

"If I had to pick one favorite track it would be "This Isn't Love", concludes Robert "It's definitely old school sounding, it's catchy, yet there's a lot of things going on composition and arrangement wise. It reminds me of a time when this kind of music was allowed to be musically interesting. Jim Peterik wrote some beautiful lyrics for it like only he can do, Shem von Schroeck plays bass and to top it off, it's got an amazing solo by Vince DiCola. We asked Vince for a keyboard lead, he came back with a whole keyboard symphony! Easily one of the personal highlights for me on this album!"

THE IRON MAIDENS Guitarist NIKKI STRINGFIELD Launches “When The Devil Comes Down” Lyric Video From Solo EP

Nikki Stringfield, who plays guitar for all-female tribute band The Iron Maidens, will issue her debut solo EP, Harmonies For The Haunted, on October 30th.

A sneak peek has been made available in the form of a lyric video for “When The Devil Comes Down”.

All vocals, guitars, bass, and lyrics on Harmonies For The Haunted were created and performed by Nikki Stringfield; drums are courtesy of Jesse Billson.

Kicking things off with the Motörhead ‘79 campaign, it celebrates the 40th Anniversary of the incredible Overkill, and Bomber albums with fantastic new deluxe editions, both as hardbound bookpacks in two CD and triple LP format. It was always Lemmy’s demand to give the fans the very best possible in every respect, we believe we have achieved that with these reissues.

And on the 9th March 1979, millions of unsuspecting viewers tuned into the BBC’s Top Of The Pops to witness the loudest, most raucous, dangerous and downright exciting band on earth perform the title track of their album Overkill.

A hybrid of punk, rock and heavy metal played with relentless, ear-curdling power, Motörhead were a force of nature propelled by bassist & vocalist Ian “Lemmy” Kilmister, guitarist “Fast” Eddie Clarke and drummer Phil “Philthy Animal” Taylor.

The alchemy between these three outrageous and utterly immortal men was nothing short of life-changing for millions, and all three shared a wonderful ‘mad band of brothers’ approach to life and music; there was no ‘off’ switch and they became legends as a result. Overkill and Bomber are icons, brain-damagingly brilliant to the nth degree, and their enormous influence still reverberates through all genres of music to this day.

JUNK Featuring Actor BILLY BLAIR Release New Single "Black Widow"

Dallas, Texas rockers Junk have released their new single "Black Widow". The track was produced by Alex Gerst at Empire Sound Studio in Dallas, TX.

Junk consists of guitarist and vocalist, Billy Blair, who is also a prolific actor. Blair appears in such films as Rob Zombie's 3 From Hell, Machete, Machete Kills. Alita: Battle Angel, Jonah Hex, Sin City: A Dame To Kill For, and more. The band also features singer/songwriter Benjamin K Bachman on vocals, Phil Sahs on bass guitar, David Dunlevy on guitar, keyboards, and backing vocals, and Noah "Shark" Robertson (Jeffrey Nothing, ex-The Browning, ex-Motograter) on drums.

The band takes influence from a wide range of artists such as Billy Idol, Soundgarden, Danzig, and Alice In Chains and has shared the stage with bands such as Skid Row, Dokken, Faster Pussycat, Powerman 5000, and Steel Panther.

The band recently made an appearance at Rocklahoma 2019 and a double appearance at SXSW 2019.

The band’s previous singles, “Pop Rock Genocide” and “The Sasquatch”, were recorded and produced at Soundhaven Studios in Rockwall, TX by Jason Schauer and mixed by Travis Wyrick (P.O.D.,10 Years, Shinedown). The songs are featured in the horror/comedy movie, Cherokee Creek.

Junk recently recorded two songs, "Like Lightning" and "Built To Last", produced by Grammy Award winner Tre Nagella at Luminous Sound Studios in Dallas, TX. Both tracks are featured on the soundtrack to the film Blood Sombrero, starring Billy Blair.

WARSENAL - Canadian Speed Metal Trio Debuts "Doomed From Birth" Lyric Video

Canadian speed metal merchants Warsenal have unveiled the official lyric video for "Doomed From Birth". The track comes by way of the band's impending new full-length, Feast Your Eyes, set for worldwide release November 15th on Svart Records.

Comments guitarist / vocalist Mathieu Rondeau of the track, "This one is a really energetic and in-your-face type of song with riffs flying left and right. It has the Warsenal madness written all over it. It was one of the first songs I wrote after Barn Burner. Even the main riff was composed before our first album was done, so you can really feel that this song is some kind of a 'bridge' between the two. It's perfect for fans old and new."

"On the lyrics side, this song is a very personal one, but I know it will connect with most people. It is about genetic diseases and conditions. My father had cancer a few years ago and luckily, he's okay now, but, once the fear of anything bad or fatal happening to him passed, the thought that I might have it sleeping in me as well stayed. Not that I'm extremely afraid; it's life, but the really frightening part is to think that I could pass it on to my own children, eventually, and that it can keep going on and on. The fear of contracting this disease is nothing compared to the fear of giving it to someone you love, especially when you have absolutely no control over that matter. So, there you go. For those who say that thrash and speed metal lyrics are stupid or meaningless, we're here to prove you otherwise, not only on this track, but on the whole album."

The follow-up to 2015's Barn Burner debut, Feast Your Eyes boasts the band's most forward-thinking assortment of speed / thrash metal rippers to date, and is sure to snap the necks of younger fans and disciples of the old-school alike.

TWISTED SISTER called it quits in 2016 after completing a farewell 40th-anniversary tour. The band's last-ever concert took place in November of that year — 20 months after the passing of TWISTED's longtime drummer A.J. Pero.

In a 2018 interview with SiriusXM, singer Dee Snider said that it was "absolutely" the right decision to pull the plug on TWISTED SISTER three years ago. "I mean, I love the guys; we're all friends, and we ended on a really great note," he said.

"Honestly, I can't do today what I did at the last TWISTED SISTER show — physically," he explained. "I'm not getting any younger, and stuff is deteriorating, things are deteriorating, and there's things that I knew… I was thrashing like a lunatic, throwing my body on the ground, and I said, 'I can't go much longer.'

"I felt by stopping TWISTED SISTER, I at least could change gears as a performer," Snider added. "And people go, 'Oh, you're still intense,' and, 'You're still this,' and, 'You're still that,' but TWISTED, for me, was another gear that I had to stop doing."

The 25th-anniversary edition of "Stay Hungry" came out in June 2009 via Rhino. The set featured loads of bonus material, including one brand new track, "30", that the band recorded specifically for the anniversary reissue.

TWISTED SISTER will reunite for two days and nights next month to celebrate the "Stay Hungry" anniversary.

Snider, Jay Jay French, Eddie Ojeda and Mark "The Animal" Mendoza will be together again at the Spooky Empire horror-themed convention in Tampa, Florida for a very exclusive, one-time-only gathering.

All four members will be available for autographs on Friday, November 1 and Saturday, November 2. Plus be sure to catch their question-and-answer sessions and photo ops.

On November 29, Pink Floyd Records will release Pink Floyd The Later Years, a 16-disc set (5xCDs, 6xBlu-Rays, 5xDVDs) covering the material created by David Gilmour, Nick Mason and Richard Wright from 1987 onwards.

The period generated record sales of over 40 million worldwide and included three studio albums: A Momentary Lapse Of Reason, The Division Bell and The Endless River as well as two live albums: Delicate Sound Of Thunder and Pulse. With additional production from David Gilmour and Andy Jackson, over 13 hours of unreleased audio and audiovisual material, including the sought-after 1989 Venice and 1990 Knebworth concerts, Pink Floyd The Later Years is a must for all fans.

A multi-media, deluxe box set, Pink Floyd The Later Years presents an expanded view of the Pink Floyd story from 1987 to the present and kicks off with A Momentary Lapse Of Reason, the album that confirmed Pink Floyd as one of the world’s biggest artists.

The album, presented for the first time in 5.1, has been remixed and updated by David Gilmour and Andy Jackson. The release of The Later Years project gives an opportunity for a fresh overview of the A Momentary Lapse Of Reason album. By returning to some of Richard Wright’s keyboard parts and recording new drum tracks with Nick Mason, producers David Gilmour and Bob Ezrin have restored the creative balance between the three Pink Floyd members.

Throughout 1987 and 1988 the band’s live shows became the largest-grossing concert tour ever to that date and produced the critically acclaimed, Grammy Award nominated, Delicate Sound Of Thunder. Filmed at the Nassau Coliseum in New York State, the concert shows the band on the top of their form. The concert has been fully re-edited and upgraded from the original 35mm film negatives by Aubrey ‘Po’ Powell and Benny Trickett and the sound remixed to 5.1. It also includes "Terminal Frost" and "Welcome To The Machine", two tracks that were not included on the original concert film release. For the first time the concert is available in 5.1 on Blu-ray and DVD.

Two of the most sought-after additions to Pink Floyd The Later Years are the 1989 Venice Concert, performed on a floating stage in front of St Mark’s Square, and the 1990 Silver Clef Winners performance at Knebworth. Both concerts, previously unreleased, are now available on both DVD and Blu-ray (145mins). The momentous Knebworth concert saw Pink Floyd topping the all-star bill (that included Paul McCartney, Dire Straits, Genesis, Phil Collins, Eric Clapton and Tears For Fears), in aid of the Nordoff Robbins charity, profits from which went towards setting up the BRIT School. David Gilmour and Andy Jackson have remixed the audio from this iconic concert and all seven tracks performed on the day (with guest musicians including sax player Candy Dulfer, the original The Great Gig In The Sky vocalist Clare Torry, keyboard player Michael Kamen and Sam Brown with her mother, Vicki, on vocals), are released here as well as for the first time ever on CD.

1994’s album The Division Bell sold over 12 million copies, having debuted at No 1 in the UK, the USA, Australia and New Zealand. It stayed at the top of the US charts for 4 weeks, and also went to No 1 in six other countries. The resulting tour was captured and recorded for the concert release Pulse. This release contains the entire Pulse live concert film, re-edited and upgraded from the original masters, from the groundbreaking Earl’s Court gigs, and available for the first time on Blu-ray. Also uncovered for the first time is footage of the band in rehearsals on October 20, 1994 performing "A Great Day For Freedom" and "Lost For Words".

In 2014, Pink Floyd released The Endless River, comprising mostly instrumental and ambient music based on material recorded during The Division Bell sessions. Featuring David Gilmour, Nick Mason and Richard Wright, additional material was recorded in 2013 and 2014, with one song, "Louder Than Words", with lyrics by author & novelist Polly Samson (the primary lyricist for The Division Bell album). The Endless River became the most pre-ordered album of all time on Amazon UK and debuted at number one in several countries. The vinyl edition was the fastest-selling UK vinyl release since 1997. Included here for the first time is the never previously seen specially commissioned full 52-minute The Endless River film by Ian Emes, famed for his work with Pink Floyd, including his animations for "One Of These Days", "Speak To Me", "Time" and "On The Run".

Rounding off the package are hours of unreleased bonus materials including music videos, documentary footage, bonus live tracks, upgraded tour screen films and documentaries. It includes the first ever release, on Blu-ray, DVD and 7” vinyl, of the last live performance of Pink Floyd with David Gilmour, Nick Mason and Richard Wright together in 2007. This special performance of Arnold Layne took place at the Syd Barrett Tribute Concert at The Barbican on 10 May 2007. The full set boasts previously unreleased or remixed audio, plus restored, remastered and re-edited audio-visuals including unreleased concert footage and promo clips.

With the help of Nick Mason and the Pink Floyd archive, the box set comes with reproductions of tour artwork, posters, programmes, tour laminates, lyric book and much more including two 7” vinyl singles, (the live version of "Arnold Layne" performed at the Syd Barrett Tribute Concert in 2007 and "Lost For Words" from the Pulse tour rehearsals at Earl’s Court), in new picture sleeves and etched image B-sides. Also included is a brand new 60-page hardback book of photos, designed by Aubrey Powell of Hipgnosis and Peter Curzon of StormStudios, including many previously unseen images.

The 5 CDs are encased in their own 40-page hardback book with an extensive guide to all content, tracklists and credits.

There will also be a 2-LP / 1-CD ‘Highlights’ package. It comes in a gatefold sleeve (for both 1-CD and 2-LP), and each will contain a 24-page booklet containing previously unseen and rare photos.

ORODRUIN Streaming Ruins Of Eternity Album Ahead Of Official Release

American doom legends, Orodruin, return with their first studio album in 16 years. Ruins Of Eternity will be released this Friday, October 25, via Cruz Del Sur Music, and you can find an advanced album stream below.

One of the most highly-regarded names in American doom metal picks up where they left off from their classic Epicurean Mass debut with Ruins Of Eternity, an epic showing time-honored and epic doom.

Sixteen years have passed since Orodruin’s lone studio album, Epicurean Mass. The album is a veritable American doom touchstone - the almost perfect intersection of Black Sabbath heft and the slow atmospheric churn of Saint Vitus. And while those two bands are a proper frame of reference for Orodruin and the American doom scene at large, the Rochester, New York-based outfit immediately proved itself to be its own unique, formidable entity, the creative unit of John Gallo (guitar), Mike Puleo (bass/vocals), Nick Tydelski (guitar) and Mike Waske (drums) writing an album equally as epic as it was forlorn.

Such an elongated span of time between releases often condemns lesser bands to the memory bank gallows, never to be seen or heard from again. Yet, the Orodruin name has only grown in stature since the release of Epicurean Mass, with the doom scene at large pining for new music from the band as they remained active on the live front. The wait is finally over - Orodruin has returned with a brand-new studio album and their first for Cruz Del Sur Music, Ruins Of Eternity.

Tracked throughout 2018 at Wicked Squid Studio, Ruins Of Eternity is the result of a two-year songwriting burst from the band, who are now a trio after the departure of Waske. (Puleo pulled double-duty on the album and handled the drums.) Exploring lyrical themes of “loss, departure and rebirth,” Ruins Of Eternity finds Orodruin already in full doom-stride, employing their trademark heavy riffing, guitar harmony interplay and the emotive vocals of Puleo, who turns in an impassioned performance on the title track, as well as “Into The Light Of The Sun” and “Hell Frozen Over.” The band even reached back into their song archives for “Letter Of Life’s Regret,” which was written in 2005 and deemed too good not to include on Ruins Of Eternity.

The album’s cover art is the combination of various images pulled together by Gallo, including the Thomas Cole print Expulsion Of Eden. It’s all part of a meticulous, highly thought-out package from Orodruin, who prove on Ruins Of Eternity that the passage of time is no match for sterling, honest doom metal done right.

ANGELS TO SOME Release Born Again Monster EP; Videos Streaming

Central California-based horror-rock act, Angels To Some, have released their Born Again Monster EP, co-produced by Thom Hazaert (David Ellefson, Combat Records, American Head Charge) and mixed by Richard Easterling (Doll Skin, David Ellefson) and Toby Wright (Alice In Chains, Korn) on all digital platforms.

THE PINEAPPLE THIEF Frontman BRUCE SOORD Debuts "All This Will Be Yours" Music Video

Ahead of the October 25 release of his new solo album, All This Will Be Yours, Bruce Soord - the multi-instrumentalist, songwriter and frontman for The Pineapple Thief - has revealed his video for the title track. Watch below.

The new album, described by Soord as an observational record, it is inspired by the joy felt by the birth of his third child juxtaposed by the local deprivation in his hometown and with the release of the title track Soord explores these themes more, “This song was literally inspired by walking with my new-born daughter in my hometown of Yeovil. I love my hometown, but it's got its fair share of problems. I was taken by the contrast of this smiling soul staring up from her pram, surrounded by lost souls. Drunks, addicts, the hopeless. Near me is a notorious drug den. No windows, no electricity, no running water. But nevertheless, it is a hive of activity. Lifeless addicts drifting in and out. So our only choice was 'to push past 158'. Myself, turning a blind eye. The community turning a blind eye. But don't get me wrong, I love my hometown. And the people in it. All this will be hers.”

Bruce continues “The video was created by George Laycock and produced by Blacktide Phonic/Visual, who I’ve worked with previously, was shot in London rather than Yeovil as a way of, hopefully, reflecting the universal themes of the song. Talking of the themes, they are not universally bleak. There is plenty to be worried about. But there really is plenty to be hopeful for as well."

EPICA Is 'Still Writing And Collecting' New Ideas For Next Studio Album

EPICA guitarist Mark Jansen spoke to That Drummer Guy about the progress of the songwriting sessions for the follow-up to 2016's "The Holographic Principle" album.

"At this point, we're still writing and collecting [new ideas], and the decision moment [as to which ideas will make the record] comes somewhere in November [or] December," he said (hear audio below). "So we still have some time to think about it."

According to Jansen, there is a simple explanation for why EPICA has taken this long to begin work on new material.

"This week, it's three years ago that 'The Holographic Principle' got released, so by the time the new album gets released, yeah, that must be about four years," he said. "It's longer than usual, but in the meantime, we also released an EP, and a second EP, and also this ['Design Your Universe'] re-release, and also a book — we worked on a book that's gonna be released at the end of this year. So there's a lot of stuff still that happened in the meantime. But if you just take a look at the albums, then it's longer than it usually has been. So I think the fans are really eager to hear new material. And as eager are we about writing the stuff.

"When I started writing myself, I felt really a big motivation again to write a new album," he continued. "And that's exactly what we needed. We didn't want to start writing an album at the point that we felt like we just had to write an album. We only want to write an album when we really feel hungry to write an album. And that's the case now… It has to be one hundred percent or nothing; there's nothing in between. I wouldn't be happy with an album that has just a few good songs and the rest are fillers. I would feel ashamed about it. There's no one that's gonna be happy about such an album. It has to be as good as we can get it."

EPICA is celebrating the 10th anniversary of its milestone album "Design Your Universe". To mark this special occasion, EPICA re-released this fan-favorite LP as a "gold edition" on October 4 through Nuclear Blast. This edition contains the album remixed and remastered by Joost Van Den Broek with updated artwork and a second disc containing newly recorded acoustic versions of "Design Your Universe" songs.

November 2019 will see the release of "The Essence Of Epica", a lavishly designed and fully illustrated, high-quality hardback which tells the story of EPICA in bandmembers' own words. Watch BRING ME THE HORIZON's 'In The Dark' Video Starring ACADEMY AWARD-Winning Actor FOREST WHITAKER

British rockers BRING ME THE HORIZON have released the official video for their single "In The Dark". Written, directed and edited by the band's frontman Oliver Sykes, the visual stars Oscar-, Emmy- and Golden Globe-winning actor Forest Whitaker and sees him undergo "Matrix"-like brain mapping.

Co-directed and produced by videographer Brian Cox, Oli comments, "'In The Dark' is my first 'official' directing effort. We were in the midst of planning to shoot the video with a director in L.A. Three days before the shoot, I got a call from Forest saying he was in London and available, so ignoring everyone who said it was impossible to make it happen in time, I called our videographer Brian and asked him if he wanted to help me direct a video. Two days later, we were shooting in London! It was a crazy, emotional few days and I was very lucky to bag an insanely talented crew to assist me."

Whitaker previously attended a BRING ME THE HORIZON concert in Atlanta, Georgia in March 2017 with his daughter Sonnet, who is reportedly a fan of the band.

After the show, the actor took to Twitter to post footage of what he called an "amazing concert."

Whitaker is best known for his roles in such movies as "Black Panther", "Rogue One: A Star Wars Story", "Platoon", "The Last King Of Scotland" and the Emmy Award-winning TV series "The Shield".

Sykes told NME that the "In The Dark" clip acts as a visual "representation of the grieving process. When it comes to the grieving process, we all try to ignore that feeling — but it's important to grieve. Even if something's happened for the best, you need to take that moment to feel something. Some people lose a whole world to grief sometimes, while others just don't grieve. Sometimes we're just too scared to face our emotions."

LACUNA COIL's CRISTINA SCABBIA Says Next Generation Is 'F**ked' Because Of Social Media: 'They Have No Idea How Real Life Is'

France's Loud TV recently conducted an interview with frontwoman Cristina Scabbia of Italian alternative metallers LACUNA COIL. You can watch the entire chat below. A few excerpts follow (transcribed by BLABBERMOUTH.NET).

On whether their forthcoming "Black Anima" studio album is "angrier" than 2016's "Delirium":

Cristina: "Of course it's the next step, it's the next record. It is somehow, an evolution of the band from 'Delirium', but the record is completely detached from 'Delirium'. We were sure, though, that we wanted to keep the heaviness going because we just like to play live the heavier songs. They're more fun for us; they're entertaining for us to play. So we wanted to follow this direction on 'Black Anima', even though there are a lot of songs that are mellow or at least slower, but they still have that 'disturbing' vibe going on that I like very much, so that can be related to 'Delirium' somehow. We're not [angry] at all; we're actually very positive people. It's not anger. I don't think anybody's afraid anymore of screams and growls in metal because that's part of the package. There was no anger. It's more about a reflection on life and actually being focused on more important things and forgetting the small things and the bullshit that are sometimes we are too focused on. It was a more mature record, yet, very [reflective] and also disturbing at times. Some of the songs put you in a mood that you're, like, 'Why am I feeling like this? But I like it.' We wanted to stop the listener and just, like, sit down, reflect where you're at, how's your life, think about how you can get better, think about where you are right now. That makes me realize that I might be old because sometimes I think, too, myself that the new generation is kind of fucked, especially with social media. They've lost control. They sometimes have no idea how real life is. They're always ready to judge everyone else. Everyone has an opinion even if they have no idea what they are talking about. Everybody is a judge and everybody is ready to jump on the train of haters. This is kind of fucked up. A lot of people are saying, 'Don't feed the trolls.' I have the opposite attitude. If someone comes to my pages or to a LACUNA COIL page, just like there to throw shit to us, I react. I'm not the person that is, like, 'Okay, I'll block you.' I will answer you. I don't mind if other fans will jump on board and will kick your ass. You did something that wasn't right, so you have to understand that what you did was wrong. And if I block you and I delete your message, it's like I'm not paying attention to you. But what I want to do is 'I paid attention to you. You're an idiot. You have to realize that whatever you do brings a consequence.' So, if the consequence is me answering and giving you two minutes of attention, it's not too bad if other people tell you're an asshole and will maybe make you think twice about what you did."

On whether LACUNA COIL has to tour more due to the current state of the music industry:

Cristina: "We still like to keep a balance because we feel that for the longevity of the band, it's really important to keep a balance in between your music, which you love and your job, but also your personal life because I have known so many bands who gave up just because they were too tired of touring. I understand that you have to tour a lot because you want to touch every territory. But if you exhaust your batteries, there's no coming back. Once you're tired, once you're hating this job, it's, like, 'I don't want to do it anymore.' And there will not be a break to repair this. That's why at a certain part in our career, we said, 'We're touring too much. We're getting to the point where we're almost hating each other at the end of every tour because we're seeing each other's faces every day in a condition that is exactly not comfortable, far from home, far from our loved ones, far from our little commodities.' So, we said, 'Let's learn to be more selective. We don't need to do three tours in the same territory in one month. We would love to do it. But if the third time we don't go back with the same passion, that's not good. Let's take more time in between. Let's choose the gigs we're going to play. And we're going to do it with more passion and more energy.' That was exactly how it worked. In the beginning, I had doubts. I like touring, I like traveling. So, I was agreeing on touring and touring and I didn't realize that I was exhausting my batteries as well. But I was, like, 'No, we have to continue touring. It's cool because we have to touch this territory and we have to play here and there.' Then I realized we were getting tired of it. You can feel the tension. You can feel the 'I don't want to play tonight. Oh, we have to play another show.' I don't like this because if you're acting like this, you're dragging everybody down. That didn't happen since we took this conscious decision. It didn't happen. We're still playing a lot of shows as well. It's perfect."

"Black Anima" will be released on October 11 via Century Media.

PHILIP ANSELMO Says DOWN Has Been 'Offered Some Shows' To Celebrate 25th Anniversary Of 'NOLA' Album

Philip Anselmo has confirmed that there are tentative plans for DOWN to reunite in 2020 for some shows in celebration of the 25th anniversary celebration of the band's classic debut album.

"We do have the 20th [sic] anniversary of 'NOLA' coming up, and I know that we have been offered some shows," Anselmo told Metal Nexus at last month's Louder Than Life festival in Louisville, Kentucky (see video below). "And that's all I know. Pepper's [Keenan] still on tour [with CORROSION OF CONFORMITY]. CROWBAR's always on tour. And EYEHATEGOD, they're on tour for a long time. So, people ask me about it all the time."

Anselmo's response appears to once again suggest that DOWN's lineup for a hypothetical "NOLA" 25th-anniversary tour would feature guitarist Kirk Windstein. A founding member of DOWN, Windstein left the band in 2013 in order to focus on CROWBAR and his family life. He was replaced by Bobby Landgraf, DOWN's former guitar tech who was previously in GAHDZILLA MOTOR COMPANY, a 1990s outfit also featuring Jason McMaster (DANGEROUS TOYS, WATCHTOWER), and HONKY.

DOWN was forced to cancel a number of shows in 2016 after Anselmo was filmed giving a Nazi salute and shouting "white power" at a California concert.

Keenan later offered his take on what transpired, telling Metal Wani that DOWN was "far from done" after the controversial incident. "You know, DOWN didn't do anything wrong," he said. "I mean, we were just guilty by association on that one. That was Phil's mistake. I've spoken to Phil and told him to get his shit together, and he is. He knows he made a mistake and was being stupid."

He continued: "I've known the guy [most of my life]. He's not what that whole thing framed him to be at all. But, yeah, there's definitely a future for DOWN. I wouldn't throw all the shit we've done, beautiful music we've done on one stupid moment that was caught on camera, and he apologized for. [So we are] far from done."

DOWN's last live appearance took place in August 2016 at the Psycho Las Vegas festival in Las Vegas, Nevada.

The band's latest release was the "Down IV - Part Two" EP, which came out in May 2014.

DOWN has not released a full-length album since 2007's "Down III: Over the Under".

1995's "NOLA" was largely credited with introducing the sound of underground New Orleans metal — "slow, super-heavy, doomsday guitar riffs stamped with Anselmo's trademark bellow," as described by NOLA.com — to a worldwide audience. The band has released albums and toured only intermittently, as its members all perform with other projects.

SULLY ERNA Says GODSMACK Was Unfairly Lumped Into 'Nu Metal' Category

In a brand new interview with Jave Patterson of Reno's Rock 104.5 radio station, GODSMACK frontman Sully Erna once again spoke about the band's seeming insistence on being called a "hard rock" act instead of being lumped under the "heavy metal" tag.

"Our biggest struggle over the years was we got lumped into that 'nu metal' category when we got signed, because the KORNs and the LIMP BIZKITs and all them were kind of blowing up," Sully said (see video below). "And we were never that, though. The first record is so many different influences, 'cause everyone was listening to different things — from NINE INCH NAILS to ALICE IN CHAINS to whatever. But we were just kind of a hard rock band — we never considered ourselves metal. And we rode the line at times. But we were never a metal band.

"To me, metal bands deserve the props for the SLIPKNOTs and the SLAYERs and whoever is truly metal," he continued. "And so we always struggled with that identity of trying to get people to understand that we're not really a metal band — we're a hard rock band. And so I think even as time has passed, we've tried to surround ourselves with more hard rock bands, so the genre feels more correct for us too — and not be out there with bands that we shouldn't be out there with, [like] LAMB OF GOD and whatever it is. Not anything against them — they're all great bands for what they do — but we're not that."

This past summer, Erna told Canada's iHeartRadio that GODSMACK is preparing to begin the songwriting process for the follow-up to last year's "When Legends Rise" album.

GODSMACK recently landed three No. 1 singles from "When Legends Rise". The group's latest track, "Under Your Scars", topped the rock radio chart in July, joining previous chart-toppers "Bulletproof" and the title cut. "Bulletproof" was also the most-played song at rock radio in 2018.

"When Legends Rise" was released in April 2018. The disc follows up 2014's "1000hp" and is GODSMACK's first release through BMG after splitting with its longtime home, Republic/Universal.

GODSMACK has spent more than a year on the road, both in North America and throughout Europe, in support of "When Legends Rise". They recently wrapped the European dates on their in-progress world tour and made a number of festival appearances leading straight into the fall shows, with HALESTORM supporting. The new dates wrap October 20 in Saint Charles, Missouri.

Former FEAR FACTORY, MORBID ANGEL, VITAL REMAINS Members Join Forces In 93

Former VITAL REMAINS frontman Brian Werner has formed a new band called 93, featuring Tim Yeung (MORBID ANGEL, DIVING HERESY) and Matt DeVries (CHIMAIRA, FEAR FACTORY). They are joined in the group by Rithiya Khiev and Chris Joao.

"This project has been in the works behind the scenes for quite sometime now," says Werner. "I had been extremely unhappy in VITAL for a while and wanted to get back to when music was fun actually create music and releasing albums.

"It's an honor to be working with all of these dudes who are all first-class players but more importantly we're all brothers first. We already have over a dozen songs written and hoping to get into the studio by early next year."

Explaining the 93 band name, Werner says: "'Do what thou wilt shall be the whole of the law' and 'Love is the law, love under will.' The two primary terms in these statements are 'will' and 'love,' respectively. In the Greek language, they are Thelema (Will) and Agape (Love). Using the Greek technique of isopsephy, which applies a numerical value to each letter, the letters of each of these words sum to 93."

METALLICA, OZZY OSBOURNE, RED HOT CHILI PEPPERS To Perform At 'Global Goal Live' Concert In September 2020

METALLICA is one of the artists who will perform during Global Citizen's 10-hour "Live Aid"-style concert event happening on September 26, 2020 on five continents: Central Park in New York, Lagos in Nigeria, and to-be-announced cities in Latin America, Europe, and Asia. TOTO Rejoined By Keyboardist DAVID PAICH At Philadelphia Concert (Video)

Keyboardist David Paich rejoined TOTO on stage Sunday night (October 20) at Philadelphia's Metropolitan Opera House to perform the band's classic song "Africa". Paich co-wrote the 1982 track and sang lead on the original recording's verses, while Bobby Kimball handled the chorus.

Paich had been absent from TOTO's live performances over the last few months due to health problems.

Guitarist Steve Lukather told The Morning Call about his bandmate's medical condition. "It was really the scariest thing ever," he said. "He had some sort of a seizure [on the bus during a European tour] or something like that. We went home and he had to retire from touring because of his health. Apparently, he pushed himself a little too hard and he fell. I mean, Dave's still playing. He can sing. He's up and about and he's happy and he's walking around. But he's not built for speed anymore."

Lukather told The Morning Call that TOTO's concert in Philadelphia will be the band's last performance for quite some time.

"I don't know what the future-future's gonna be, but I do know that's gonna be the last show in Philly for the foreseeable future," he said. "And certainly the end of this configuration of TOTO."

TOTO's most recent lineup also included other founding member Steve Porcaro as well as longtime vocalist Joseph Williams.

Speaking about the possibility of TOTO returning again with a different lineup, Lukather said: "I don't know, man. I can't predict the future. I can tell you that this version is dead October 20… We gotta take a break from all this. We were beat up really badly and we gotta heal and figure out what's going on. I mean, the music's still there. I'm not saying I'm never gonna play this music again — that would be stupid to say; that would be a lie. I can play whatever I want from my entire career with whomever I want to, and so can everybody else. But I don't know what that is yet."

He continued: "We've been working really hard for a really long time if you look at the last 10 years of touring for the band, we've toured more than we ever have. We're playing better than ever. That's the irony. ... The band, we're playing great. When we walk on stage, man, it's like we're kids again, and we just give it all we got. It keeps you youthful inside. I feel great — I feel better than I did when I was 40, you know? As far as physically and playing-wise, the band's matured. We're playing together. It's fun — I'm having a great time. And that two hours plus on stage is what we're out here to do. That's our big payoff. We don't get paid for that — we get paid for the other 20 hours a day where we're in a very nice little prison called a hotel room. 've been on the road my whole life. Going out and seeing the sights — I've kind of done that, you know?"

Few ensembles in the history of recorded music have individually or collectively had a larger imprint on pop culture than the members of TOTO. As individuals, the band members can be heard on an astonishing 5,000 albums that together amass a sales history of a half a billion albums. Amongst these recordings, NARAS applauded the performances with more than 200 Grammy nominations. Collectively, TOTO has over a billion streams worldwide on all streaming services.

GEORGE LYNCH Says ANDREW FREEMAN Will Sing On Next LYNCH MOB Album

George Lynch has confirmed that the next LYNCH MOB album will feature vocalist Andrew Freeman, who has been playing select shows with the group following last year's departure of Oni Logan.

"Andrew is in the band," the guitarist told "The Right To Rock" in a new interview. "LYNCH MOB is a fluid device [laughs] and a revolving door. And that's okay. I've learned to live with that and sort of embrace it. But Andrew also has LAST IN LINE, so he has a foot in both camps. So when he's not touring with LAST IN LINE, his other band, he'll be touring with us."

Joining Lynch and Freeman on the next LYNCH MOB album will be drummer Jimmy D'Anda and bassist Sean McNabb. "So it's basically the same lineup as the last record but with a different singer," George said. "And we are in pre-production and already about five to six songs deep. But not completed songs — they're skeleton arrangements right now and a work in progress. This will be a next-year record — early next year, I imagine."

As for the musical direction of the new LYNCH MOB material, George said: "Bluesy but with that acid twist — an Eastern vibe here and there, and the strangeness, a little plagiarization. Late '60s and early '70s influences — at least I don't hide it. So, you know, blues-based, groove-oriented hard rock, but with our LYNCH MOB twist."

Logan announced his latest departure from LYNCH MOB in January 2018, explaining that he was "looking forward to writing with other artist and bands."

Oni first hooked up with LYNCH MOB in 1990, but exited the group after the release of its first album, only to rejoin the Lynch-led outfit in the late 2000s.

LYNCH MOB's most recent album, "The Brotherhood", was released in September 2017 via Rat Pak Records.
