SATYRICON To Release Remastered 20th-Anniversary Edition Of 'Rebel Extravaganza'
20 years ago, SATYRICON released its groundbreaking fourth studio album, "Rebel Extravaganza" — an album that marked the start of a black metal evolution and has influenced the genre ever since. The album will now be available as a remastered reissue on December 13 via Napalm Records. By breaking up all given boundaries, Satyr and Frost included progressive and experimental parts, combined with synthesizing time signatures and backed up by guest appearances of genre luminaries like Fenriz (DARKTHRONE) and Snorre Ruch (THORNS). The album became the main inspiration for a myriad of up-and-coming experimental black metal acts and the birth of a new SATYRICON era.
The fully remastered "Rebel Extravaganza" will be released as a special limited 20th-anniversary picture double vinyl edition, as 2-LP gatefold and digipack.
Frontman Sigurd "Satyr" Wongraven commented on the reissue: "As much as 'Rebel' was a new record to us, it was also a protest. I felt the genre was turning gothic and that there were more interesting and sustainable types of expression that could be incorporated in the black metal to make it grow and spark new life into it. My own bottomless misanthropy at the time, was also instrumental in shaping the record. Frost and I are proud of how this record contributed to a development for the genre we all know now was necessary. This was a record many discovered in hindsight and that says a lot about its complexity, controversy and importance. Today, 20 years later, the new version sounds and looks better than this record has ever done. We hope you feel the same way."
In a 2017 interview with Poland's Inertia.pl, Satyr stated about "Rebel Extravaganza": "'Rebel' was not only a game changer for SATYRICON, but for the genre, I think. It was a time where everything [referring to black metal] was turning gothic. For us, it was very important to do something more contemporary, which didn't have anything to do with gothic. I think that was an influential album."
SATYRICON's latest album, "Deep Calleth Upon Deep", was released in September 2017 via Napalm Records. The disc was recorded in Oslo, Norway and Vancouver, Canada, during early 2017 and mixed together with revered studio guru Mike Fraser (who previously worked on "Now, Diabolical").

New TAYLOR HAWKINS AND THE COATTAIL RIDERS Album To Feature DUFF MCKAGAN, ROGER TAYLOR, NANCY WILSON
On November 8, Taylor Hawkins will descend from the levitating drum throne on which he's spent two years on tour supporting FOO FIGHTERS' international #1 album "Concrete And Gold". The forthcoming third TAYLOR HAWKINS AND THE COATTAIL RIDERS album, "Get The Money", will be released by Shanabelle/RCA Records on that date, and can be pre-ordered now with all pre-orders receiving the instant grat track "Crossed The Line" (featuring guest turns from Hawkins's bandmate Dave Grohl and YES vocalist Jon Davison).
Produced by John Lousteau and Taylor himself, and mixed by Sylvia Massy, "Get The Money" follows Taylor's 2016 six-song mini-LP "KOTA" by three years almost to the day, and features a scope far wider than "KOTA"'s takes on suburbia's bizarro underbelly. The new album finds Taylor and Coattail Riders Chris Chaney, Brent Woods and John Lousteau accompanied by an all-star supporting cast including Taylor's fellow FOO FIGHTERS Dave Grohl and Pat Smear, Roger Taylor, Joe Walsh, Duff McKagan, Nancy Wilson, Chrissie Hynde, Perry Farrell, LeAnn Rimes and more, collectively creating a staggering, epic sprawl that swerves from classic rock to prog and glam and all points between.
"Get The Money" track listing:
01. Crossed The Line (featuring Dave Grohl, Jon Davison)
02. Don't Look At Me That Way (featuring Duff McKagan, Nancy Wilson)
03. You're No Good At Life No More (featuring Dave Grohl)
04. I Really Blew It (featuring Dave Grohl, Perry Farrell)
05. Queen Of The Clowns (featuring Mark King)
06. Get the Money (featuring Joe Walsh, Chrissie Hynde, Duff McKagan)
07. C U In Hell (featuring LeAnn Rimes)
08. Middle Child (featuring Dave Grohl)
09. Kiss The Ring
10. Shapes Of Things (featuring Roger Taylor, Pat Smear)
Since the Texas-born Laguna-bred force of nature made his Foo Fighting debut on the tour supporting 1997's sophomore opus "The Colour And The Shape", he has been an essential element of the sound and personality of the last great American arena/stadium rock band. He's played on Grammy-winning FF albums, including "There Is Nothing Left To Lose", "One by One" and "Wasting Light", and contributed lead vocals to "Concrete And Gold"'s "Sunday Rain", as well as "Cold Day In The Sun" from 2005's "In Your Honor". Taylor's previous extracurricular output includes two albums from TAYLOR HAWKINS AND THE COATTAIL RIDERS, one with THE BIRDS OF SATAN, the above-mentioned "KOTA" mini-LP that featured Hawkins on lead vocals and nearly every instrument.

DEF LEPPARD's VIVIAN CAMPBELL Undergoes Back Surgery
Vivian Campbell says that he is recovering from a recent back surgery.
The DEF LEPPARD and LAST IN LINE guitarist, who was diagnosed with with Hodgkin's lymphoma in 2013, was asked about his health during an October 9 appearance on SiriusXM's "Trunk Nation".
Campbell said: "My back is the issue at the moment. I did spine surgery last Wednesday, so I'm sitting here with an ice pack and a back brace on. So I'm a little concerned about that. It's gonna be difficult for me to do these next couple of weeks' worth of [DEF LEPPARD and LAST IN LINE] shows. I'm gonna be moving very slowly. But I know that I can get on stage and I can play guitar and I can sing, so that's all I need to do. It'll be the travel in between that's gonna be extremely uncomfortable."
"As far as the cancer, I'm just doing these infusions," he continued. "I go back to City Of Hope tomorrow and get another infusion. And that'll keep me right for another three to four weeks. It's just maintenance. It's all good as far as I'm concerned."
Asked if his cancer is the type of thing that will ever fully go into remission or if it's something that he will have to manage the rest of his life, Campbell said: "Right now, it's just holding, and has been for four years. So I'm very fortunate that I caught my cancer early enough to where this is okay to keep it in this holding pattern. So until something else comes along. The technology is moving at a furious pace — there's so many new cancer treatments and alternative treatments coming to light year after year. The treatment that I'm on — in fact, I was part of a clinical trial of that — that's relatively new. So I'm very fortunate that way, that I caight it early and I happen to be a good candidate for this particular treatment and it's a good place holder. So it doesn't really have any impact on my life other than scheduling and [being] a little bit tired for a few days around the infusions. But right now it's kind of slid to second place on the complaints list because of the back surgery. So that's my more pressing concern."
For the past four years, Vivian has been part of a medical trial in Los Angeles, at City of Hope — one of the world's leading cancer research facilities — being treated with medication called pembrolizumab, which became FDA approved in early 2017.
Campbell, who receives pembrolizumab infusions roughly once a month, has also performed, toured and worked with legendary artists including THIN LIZZY, DIO, WHITESNAKE, RIVERDOGS and Lou Gramm.
Vivian and his DEF LEPPARD bandmates were finally inducted into the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame in March — 14 years after the British rockers first became eligible. | +1

JUDAS PRIEST, MOTÖRHEAD, NINE INCH NAILS, SOUNDGARDEN Among Nominees For ROCK AND ROLL HALL OF FAME Induction
JUDAS PRIEST, MC5, MOTÖRHEAD, NINE INCH NAILS, SOUNDGARDEN, T.REX and THIN LIZZY are among the nominees for the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame's class of 2020. Also nominated are Notorious B.I.G., Whitney Houston, Pat Benatar, DAVE MATTHEWS BAND, DEPECHE MODE, THE DOOBIE BROTHERS, KRAFTWERK, RUFUS FEATURING CHAKA KHAN and Todd Rundgren. The top vote-getters will be announced in January and inducted May 2, 2020 at a ceremony at Cleveland's Public Hall.
To be eligible for this year's ballot, each nominee's first single or album had to be released in 1994 or earlier.
A voter pool of more than 1,000 artists, historians, journalists and members of the music industry will select the new class. Fans will also have a chance to take part in the process by voting at RockHall.com or an interactive kiosk at the museum in Cleveland.
According to Rolling Stone, the Hall Of Fame has also announced the individual members of each band that will be inducted. Les Binks, K.K. Downing, Rob Halford, Ian Hill, Dave Holland, Glenn Tipton and Scott Travis are on the ballot for JUDAS PRIEST. Trent Reznor will accept the honor alone should NINE INCH NAILS get in. MOTÖRHEAD are represented by Ian "Lemmy" Kilmister, "Fast" Eddie Clarke and Phil "Philthy Animal" Taylor, while T.REX members Marc Bolan, Mickey Finn, Steve Currie, Bill Legend were selected and THIN LIZZY will be represented by Phil Lynott, Brian Downey, Eric Bell, Scott Gorham and Brian Robertson.
Even though artists are eligible for the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame 25 years after the release of their first album or single, iconic hard rock and metal bands like IRON MAIDEN, JUDAS PRIEST and MOTÖRHEAD have yet to be recognized by the institution, which inducted GUNS N' ROSES in that group's first year of eligibility.
Having been eligible for induction since 1999, JUDAS PRIEST was on the ballot for last year's class of the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame, but ultimately didn't clinch the nomination.
Rock Hall rules state that artists become eligible a quarter century after their first records were released, but the Hall also claims that other "criteria include the influence and significance of the artists' contributions to the development and perpetuation of rock 'n' roll," which is, of course, open to interpretation.
Eligible for induction since 1999, KISS didn't get its first nomination until 2009, and was finally inducted in 2014.
DEEP PURPLE was eligible for the Rock Hall since 1993 but didn't get inducted until 2016.
Last year, PRIEST singer Rob Halford said that he believed his band will eventually be inducted into the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame. He said: "Everybody has different opinions on this Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame. It's kind of a controversial issue for some musicians. And I think everybody in the band has a slightly different observation on it. But I think on the whole, it's no different to the other institutions of the same experience in America, like the Basketball Hall Of Fame and the Football Hall Of Fame. If you are included in that kind of place, it's something of an honor, because you're surrounded by your peers, you're surrounded by the people who enjoyed the same life and experience in that kind of endeavor. So if that does happen for JUDAS PRIEST, I think it will be a wonderful moment, because we're a British heavy metal band and the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame is an American institution, but it still carries weight around the world. So we'll wait and see. I think we will get in there eventually, hopefully."
Former JUDAS PRIEST guitarist K.K. Downing, who left the band acrimoniously eight years ago, told BlastEcho in a 2016 interview that he "would be fine" with performing with his former bandmates at the Rock Hall induction ceremony if they were to ever receive the honor. Halford was also open to the idea of reuniting with Downing on the night, telling Billboard in 2017: "Everything's on the table for anyone that's been associated with PRIEST in and out of the band."
With PEARL JAM and fellow Seattle icons NIRVANA both having been inducted into the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame, it would only make sense that SOUNDGARDEN — who have been eligible since 2013 and were on that vaunted scene before either of those other bands — get recognized as well. But just a few weeks before his May 2017 death, SOUNDGARDEN singer Chris Cornell said it was not something he thought about all that much.
"To be honest, it doesn't really make any difference to me," he told Den Of Geek, although he himself inducted HEART and admitted he was "really proud" of bandmate Matt Cameron, who was inducted as a member of PEARL JAM. "I'm not trying to be negative about it. The one thing about inducting HEART was that I was actually really moved by their fans, and the fans were the people in the cheap seats that were screaming, and they were outside saying hi every time you'd come and go over the course of the two days. That was when it made sense to me, that it matters to the fans, and if it matters to the fans, then I think it matters. But they deserve ownership of it."

BLACK STONE CHERRY Releases Music Video For Cover Of OTIS RUSH's 'All Your Love'
BLACK STONE CHERRY has released the official music video for its version of Otis Rush's "All Your Love". The song comes from the band's second riotous, rip-roaring tribute to its blues heroes on "Black To Blues Volume 2", which will be released on November 1 via Mascot Records/Mascot Label Group.
Speaking about the track, BLACK STONE CHERRY explains: "John Fred had the absolute honor to meet Mr. Rush when THE KENTUCKY HEADHUNTERS played with him at the Blues Aid festival in Helena, Arkansas. His kindness and larger-than-life personality was encouraging and stuck. When we did the 'Black To Blues Volume 2' album, we had the idea to cover 'All Your Love'. The arrangement is true to the original but with our special BSC touch. I think he would be proud to know his music is still inspiring younger generations. Hope ya'll enjoy!"
The first installment of the series, "Black To Blues", was released in October 2017 and crashed straight into No. 1 in the Billboard Blues chart and reached the top 30 U.K. album chart with a wave of praise from both the press and fans.
Chris Robertson said: "We could have never dreamed of the reaction we got from 'Black To Blues'. It was amazing to have such a positive reaction to our take on some of our biggest influences in music. Now we are back for round two and we have added our great friend Yates Mckendree on organ/keys and he also makes an appearance on guitar! We kept a couple artists in the lineup from last time and introduced a few others into the mix as well! We can't wait for everyone to hear and feel how much fun we had recording this project!"
Since the last blues EP, BLACK STONE CHERRY released its latest studio album "Family Tree" (2018), which reached the Top 10 U.K. album chart (their third in a row) and Billboard Top 10 Hard Rock albums. The band spent the time following that touring Europe extensively, including a 2018 U.K. arena tour with MONSTER TRUCK, a main-stage sub-headline performance at Download festival — under GUNS N' ROSES — plus performances at Graspop Metal Meeting, Rock Am Ring and standout sets this summer at Wacken Open Air, a sold-out Caerphilly Castle (Wales) and an explosive headline slot at Ramblin' Man Fair. They have also criss-crossed their way around the U.S., including shows with GOV'T MULE, TYLER BRYANT & THE SHAKEDOWN, THREE DOORS DOWN and LYNYRD SKYNYRD. In amongst all of this, they still found time to record a hip-shaking new record and once again produced by the band themselves, they recorded it at Monocle Studios in Sulphur Well, Kentucky. The EP kicks off with Robertson introducing McKendree on the organ as they launch into Freddie King's "Big Legged Woman". It's wild, raucous and has their own unmistakeable groove woven through the song as has their unrelenting take on Howlin' Wolf's "Down In The Bottom" — both legends covered on the previous record.
Talking about King and Wolf, guitarist Ben Wells says: "Those are some of our absolute favorites. We always identify with those guys ‘cause they had grooves and riffs like we would put in our tunes. So we are naturally drawn to that."
This is where the link between the blues and BLACK STONE CHERRY weaves in so perfectly; the groove and heart of those early songs embody the essence and beginnings of Kentucky's favorite rockers. "Muddy Waters, Freddie King, Howlin' Wolf, and the like," Wells explains. "We used to listen to that constantly growing up, and still do. It's what we grew up playing and learning together. It's the DNA of what our band is. It's not just us covering songs. It's about doing our own version of each song."
Fans that have seen the band grow over their ascent to arenas will have often seen their love for the blues with songs regularly making into the live set. This time around they bring in Robert Johnson's howling "Me And The Devil Blues", the sultry slow-burning "All Your Love (I Miss Loving)", originally performed by Mississippi legend Otis Rush, and Elmore James classic "Early One Morning", one of the wildest standout songs from the one the links between traditional Delta and Chicago blues.
The album closes with their take on "Death Letter Blues" by Son House, which longtime fans will be familiar with from the band's live set and also featured on 2014 live album "Thank You: Livin' Live Birmingham".
Talking about the reaction of the fans, Wells enthuses: "It's incredible!! The coolest part is hearing young fans say they never listened to these artists until we made them aware of them. That's amazing for us!"
"Black To Blues Volume 2" track listing:

RUNNING WILD To Release 'Crossing The Blades' EP In December
It's been three years since RUNNING WILD wowed its fans with its latest album, "Rapid Foray". Three years in which a lot of water has passed under the metal galleys of time and the fans' requests for new songs have become more and more vociferous. To ease the wait so that his supporters won't have to hold out until early summer 2020, RUNNING WILD captain Rock 'N' Rolf has come up with a real masterstroke: on December 6 2019 — Saint Nicholas Day! — the band will release the EP "Crossing The Blades", featuring four brand-new tracks, including an exciting cover of the KISS classic "Strutter".
First of all, the focus is on the EP's opener, "Crossing The Blades". What's so special about this song is the fact that it's a harbinger of the next regular album, scheduled for release in summer, but will remain unique in its present incarnation. As Kasparek explains: "This version will only be available on the 'Crossing The Blades' EP. The album will feature a different version, completely re-recorded and with a number of little changes." The EP's second track is called "Stargazed" and should be familiar to a lot of Wacken Open Air attendees; after all, RUNNING WILD had presented the song exclusively at the 2018 edition of the festival, to an enthusiastic response. Number three is "Strutter", an homage to Rolf's first idols, of course in typical RUNNING WILD style and with a little more steam than the original. Last but not least: the new EP closes with "Ride On The Wild Side", which — thanks to its powerful pace and high compositional quality — would almost have made the shortlist for the upcoming album.
Thanks to its first-rate production and a number of exclusive features, these four songs are more than likely to make up the long wait until summer 2020 and the arrival of the next full album. At the same time, they will heighten the anticipation of RUNNING WILD's new material and their upcoming festival appearances.
"Crossing The Blades" track listing:
01. Crossing The Blades
02. Stargazed
03. Strutter
04. Ride On The Wild Side
Lineup:
Rock 'N' Rolf - guitar, vocals
Peter Jordan - guitars
Ole Hempelmann - bass
Michael Wolpers - drums

HOUSE OF SHAKIRA To Release Radiocarbon Album In December; Music Video For "Delusion" Single Streaming
Frontiers Music Srl has announced the upcoming release of House Of Shakira's brand new album, Radiocarbon, on December 6. A video for the first single, "Delusion" can be found below. Pre-order the album on CD/Vinyl/Digital and/or stream the single here.
Radiocarbon is House Of Shakira's ninth original studio album and shows the band gaining even more maturity and depth in the songwriting department and truly operating at the top of their game.
Singer Andreas Novak says, "We are very proud to release this particular record with Frontiers. We are certainly in good company, but what counts most is that "Radiocarbon" is truly our strongest and most substantial record ever. Also, thanks to the mighty Pontus Norgren (Hammerfall) for the outstanding production job he did on this record. Hold onto your hats!"
Originally formed in Stockholm, Sweden around 1991, House Of Shakira released their debut album, Lint in 1997. They have a unique sound that stands out amongst other bands in their genre as they craft melodic hard rock of the highest quality with vocals that soar, melodies that rise, and guitars that bring it all together. All these components make for a sensational listening experience. Because of the diversity of the lyrics and the music, House Of Shakira does not fall under your typical hard rock classification and appeals to a musically inclined audience and fan community. The band's motto is "try every idea with an open mind", meaning that every member of the band contributes their personal musical ideas: writing the lyrics, rhythm patterns, chord changes, and crafting special melodies.
The band is currently plotting European tour dates for 2020, so stay tuned for more news on that soon.

PRAYING MANTIS To Release New Live CD/DVD, Keep It Alive, In December; Official Live Video For "Highway" Streaming
Frontiers Music Srl has announced the release of Praying Mantis' new live CD/DVD, Keep It Alive, on December 6. Watch their performance of "Highway" below, and pre-order the album/video or stream audio of "Highway" here.
Recorded live at Frontiers Rock Festival V in Milan, Italy on April 28, 2018, this brand new live release shows Praying Mantis offering the crowd a setlist of new songs and several classic tracks, including selected cuts from the now legendary debut album, "Time Tells No Lies". An awesome release, showcasing the repertoire of one of the most consistent British hard rock bands around.
Originally formed in 1973 by the Troy brothers, Tino and Chris, Praying Mantis became one of the most influential bands of the New Wave of British Heavy Metal (NWOBHM). The band is also one of a very small number of bands from that era to have remained an ongoing concern over the intervening years, and to still record and appear live regularly. The debut Praying Mantis album, Time Tells No Lies (Arista) was released in 1981 to critical acclaim, and it remains a significant milestone in the history of NWOBHM.
Following a short-lived reformation of most of the original lineup of Praying Mantis in 1987, the band went back on hiatus until offered the chance to play in Japan with ex-Iron Maiden members Paul Di'Anno and Dennis Stratton in 1990. This experience injected new life into the band, and also marked the beginning of a productive 15 year partnership with Dennis Stratton. The band's second official studio album, Predator in Disguise, was released in 1991, and the band have continued to write and release new material every two to three years ever since, with a shifting line-up which has featured the likes of Doogie White, Gary Barden, Bernie Shaw, Bruce Bisland, Mike Freeland, Gary Mackenzie, and many other figures from the cream of Britain's rock fraternity. Following another major change in lineup (including the departure of Dennis Stratton), Praying Mantis signed with Frontiers in 2007 and recorded the album Sanctuary, which was released in 2009. The album, considered to be one of the finest of their career, has received consistently positive reviews, as have the follow-ups, Legacy and Gravity.
Whether gigging in support of their latest releases, writing new material, or re-visiting other songs from their extensive back-catalogue, the Troy brothers, along with guitarist Andy Burgess and newest recruits, John 'Jaycee' Cuijpers on vocals and Hans In T' Zandt on drums and vocals, remain committed to the blend of melody and power in their music that has become a trademark of the Praying Mantis sound, and, some three decades after forming, the band is still completely dedicated to entertaining a seemingly ever-growing army of fans across the globe.

"Fear Inoculum", the title track of TOOL's recently released album, has reached No. 1 on the Active Rock radio chart, giving the band its fourth career No. 1 radio single as well as the outfit's first chart topper in 13 years.
TOOL kicked off its North American tour on Sunday night, performing at Sacramento's Aftershock festival, where the Los Angeles-based band performed "Fear Inoculum" for the first time. The sold-out trek continues tomorrow night in Denver, as the band plays two shows at the Pepsi Center.
"Fear Inoculum" arrived on August 30 following years of anticipation. The album debuted at No. 1 on Billboard's Top 200 and earned heaps of critical praise, with NPR saying "Fear Inoculum" was "worth the 13-year wait," Revolver proclaiming the 10-track album "a masterpiece to be dissected for years to come" and Consequence Of Sound saying the release finds "TOOL in peak performance."
The "Fear Inoculum" title track recently became the longest song to ever land in the Billboard Hot 100. The TOOL cut has a running time of 10 minutes 21 seconds, 24 seconds longer than the previous record holder, David Bowie's "Blackstar".
"Fear Inoculum" debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 album chart. The effort shifted approximately 270,000 equivalent album units in its first week of release, with 248,000 of those in traditional album sales.

ATREYU's BRANDON SALLER To Release Debut AMERICAN GENTLEMEN EP
AMERICAN GENTLEMEN, the project of ATREYU drummer, vocalist and songwriter Brandon Saller and platinum-selling producer Christopher "C4" Umana, will release an EP, titled "Ghosts", on October 18. The five-song effort will be available on Spotify and Apple Music.
AMERICAN GENTLEMEN is not the type of music most would expect from either member of this Los Angeles-based duo. With past successes respectively in hip-hop and hard rock, C4 and Saller have united to create a unique sound that blends influences of folk, rock, hip-hop, R&B and others that are polished with C4's incredible production and creative mind. With Saller's group ATREYU, the band is known worldwide, has reached gold status on multiple albums and have earned the respect of being a top rock act of the 2000s. C4 has had success as both a producer and songwriter, working with Big Sean ("Dark Sky Paradise"), Kelly Rowland ("Here I Am"), Trey Songz ("Tremaine", "Trigga", "Chapter V"), Tank ("This Is How I Feel"), and many others.
"This project for me is a huge element to my growth as a writer," says Saller. "Working with C4 (who is a production genius) has blown the doors open for me wanting to venture into other genres."
The duo initially met in 2014, and began working together on music in 2016, which was a natural pairing and brings out the best strengths of each.
"Working with Brandon Saller is so effortless" comments C4. "It almost feels like we grew up in the same home. I am able to carry out his vision through music and the collaboration is magical."

SHARON OSBOURNE: OZZY 'Can't Wait To Get The Okay From The Doctor' To Return To The Road
On Thursday's (October 10) episode of her daytime talk show "The Talk", Sharon Osbourne addressed husband Ozzy's recent video message to fans announcing the latest cancelation of his European tour dates due to health issues.
"How cute is he?" Sharon said (see video below). "He does [look good]. We were watching something the other day of a band that was on the road. It was a documentary — I don't even know who the band was — and it showed them all traveling on the tour bus. And he said, 'Turn it off. I can't watch it.' He had tears in his eyes, and he's, like, 'I miss my life so much.' And he just can't wait to get the okay from the doctor to let him go. He just wants to go out and fly. That's what he does."
Ozzy's most recent European tour postponement marks the second time the BLACK SABBATH singer has done so following a series of health issues.
Ozzy initially scrapped his entire 2019 schedule earlier this year, as he recovered from surgery to repair an injury sustained while dealing with his recent bout of pneumonia. The European leg of his "No More Tours 2" trek was then rescheduled for January through March 2020, with the North American dates set to follow in May 2020.
Ozzy posted a video on his social media accounts on Wednesday (October 9) in which he announced the postponement of the 2020 European tour and addressed his health status.
According to Live Nation Sweden, the new European tour dates will now take place "in the first half of 2021." The American dates remain in place for now.

LARS ULRICH Says JAMES HETFIELD Is 'In The Process Of Healing Himself'
Lars Ulrich says that James Hetfield is "doing what he needs to" in order to "heal himself."
The METALLICA drummer made the comment days after the band's tour of Australia and New Zealand was called off so that Hetfield could enter rehab to battle his addictions. The trek was slated to kick off on October 17 in Perth and was to include over 10 dates, with SLIPKNOT in the support slot.
Asked in a new interview with USA Today how Hetfield is doing now, Ulrich said: "He's doing what he needs to; he's in the process of healing himself. I feel bad for everybody down in Australia and New Zealand, but we're excited to get back to full force and come back stronger and healthier than ever. Along the way, there's obviously an occasional bump in the road. But it's been an incredible ride, and we're looking forward to getting back down there, hopefully next year.
Pressed about whether he was surprised when Hetfield told him about his decision to return to rehab, Ulrich said: "I don't have anything more to add — we put out a statement a week ago. I think the biggest surprise is just how positive the feedback has been from our fans and friends and peers alike. It's very heartwarming, and it's just blown our minds how much love and appreciation and support we've gotten in the last week since we had to postpone this. It's an incredible thing."
The 56-year-old Hetfield has been open about his addiction and alcoholism. His struggles were detailed in the 2004 documentary "Some Kind Of Monster".
A couple of years ago, Hetfield said "fear was a big motivator" in inspiring him to get clean. At that time, he said he was sober for 15 years.
In a 2016 interview with Australia's Rolling Stone magazine, Hetfield talked about the interpersonal relationships between the METALLICA bandmembers which reached an all-time low in 2001 during the making of the "St. Anger" album. He described the dynamic between him and Ulrich as: "Lars is, 'I have to do everything, or else it's wrong.' He's got the weight of so much on him. And [METALLICA's song] 'Atlas, Rise!' started out as a, 'Here, let me help you with that. You don't need to carry all that, brother.' And then it morphed into more — and this is not specifically him, but I'm plugging him into this — I think he likes that. There's a drama that makes him work, and we all have a bit of that. He wants the control but he doesn't really have control. The illusion of control, and then the ability to complain about how you have to do everything yourself, and then you still do it."
Hetfield continued: "There's some 'Psych 101'. But relationships, my God, every day I learn something, and relationships are teaching me about what's important. I went through a lot of stuff in 2001 [as captured in the 'Some Kind Of Monster' documentary], that was kind of my freak-out period, realizing my life is not working how it is now. And it took a huge bottom to realize that. And I think everyone in the band has hit their bottom in a certain way, a different way, over the past 10 years. There's been some realizations. It's just the age — between 45 and 55. Fifties. That's a number where you think, what the fuck am I doing? [Life's] more than half over! But the relationship with Lars, we've been friends for a long time, it's lasted longer than all the marriages in the band. God, we hate each other, and we love each other, and it morphs, it changes, but at the end of the day we realize, this works. And we're a good team, man. Trusting him: 'Yeah, I've got 800 riffs, and here they are. You edit them, you pick out the good stuff.'"

HAMMERFALL’s OSCAR DRONJAK – “I Did Not Enjoy Writing Built To Last, But Dominion Was A Pleasure”
For The Metal Voice, former Anthrax singer Neil Turbin spoke to HammerFall guitarist Oscar Dronjak at The Wiltern in Los Angeles CA on October 11 as the band opened for Sabaton on their North American tour. Dronjak spoke about the band’s new album Dominion and tour.
When asked about what he did different in terms of songwriting on their new album Dominion that they didn't do on their last album:
"On the new album we planned ahead, on the last album Built to Last we weren't really ready, we didn't have the time to write the songs and to let them mature. On Dominion I started writing the songs earlier I tried to write different ways, like on tour for example which I never did before but I realized that it was really rewarding to do it that way. With the Built To Last album it was a rush, I couldn't enjoy the songs I was writing because I had to finish the songs so we could record them. For Dominion we were finished everything several months before the recordings sessions were supposed to begin. It also meant we had time to go through the songs and pay attention to the details and when we recorded the songs we didn't have to experiment a lot we knew exactly what we were supposed to do. And in the end it helped to create a relaxed atmosphere. If you record something and you are relaxed you can put all that energy you have into that moment when you are playing and that made the album sound the way it does."
When asked about Joacim Cans consistent vocals abilities night after night:
"Joacim is takes care of his voice he does warm ups every day before the shows. He also doesn't scream, he sings with the proper technique which makes his voice last a lot longer. He is 49 years old now and he sounds better than ever. I have recorded so many albums with Joacim and every time we are in the studio I get goosebumps when he sings. His voice is getting better with every album."
HammerFall recently released their eleventh studio album, and second with Napalm Records, Dominion. The band have now released this new track-by-track video, discussing "And Yet I Smile":

Listen To New BAD WOLVES Song 'Crying Game'
BAD WOLVES have released another new track, "Crying Game", from their forthcoming sophomore album, "N.A.T.I.O.N.", due out on Friday, October 25 via Eleven Seven Music.
"Crying Game", the fourth song to be released off of "N.A.T.I.O.N.", is one of the first cuts the band wrote for the new record. Drummer John Boecklin brought the track to vocalist Tommy Vext practically finished. Vext said this song is about how "we all have people that are prone to self-destruct and literally make it everyone else's fault but their own." The idea came from Boecklin, who said it was "about people I've worked with in the past, musically" and the lyrics that Vext added really solidified the song.
BAD WOLVES came to Vext as an opportunity to try his craft again after his stint in DIVINE HERESY was brought down by his own demons and addictions, a childhood family life to the extent that most nightmares never reach, and an adult existence that took him even deeper into that hell. Yet it was a call from another addict, a kid looking for help, that brought Vext off the suicidal edge and into a life of continued sobriety and service.
Vext declared in an August 2018 interview for Psychology Today, titled "Tommy Vext and the Deafening Sound of Self-Termination": "Because when we are in that state of self-termination, it's so deafening — the only way to break out of it is to have contact with people who literally have it worse and are still hopeful. And that's the most powerful thing about altruism. It's the foundation of my recovery and it's the fabric of everything I do. I think we're all here for a reason, and we're all here for a purpose. Some of us have to find our purpose, and sometimes it's thrust upon us... Such is life."
During the third annual "Rock To Recovery" benefit concert last year, Vext was awarded the "Rock To Recovery Service Award" for his outstanding influence and dedication in helping others fight their own battles dealing with drug addiction and alcoholism. Vext has been sober for over 10 years now. His blunt honesty about his battle and commitment to staying sober has continued to inspire many both in the music industry and beyond.
BAD WOLVES' debut album, "Disobey", came out in May 2018 and featured the band's rendition of the 1993 CRANBERRIES classic "Zombie".
Originally scheduled to feature a guest appearance from late CRANBERRIES frontwoman Dolores O'Riordan, "Zombie" launched shortly after her death in January of 2018 and went on to top the rock radio chart and sell a million copies.
BAD WOLVES was formed in 2017, comprised of former members of DEVILDRIVER, GOD FORBID, DIVINE HERESY and IN THIS MOMENT. | +3

STITCHED UP HEART: Lyric Video For New Song 'Crooked Halo'
The official lyric video for STITCHED UP HEART's new song "Crooked Halo" can be seen below. The track will appear on the band's forthcoming full-length album, "Darkness", tentatively due out in the spring 2020 via RED Music. The 13-song follow-up to 2016's "Never Alone" was produced by produced by Matt Good of FROM FIRST TO LAST and D.R.U.G.S.
STITCHED UP HEART plans to release one new song each month until "Darkness" arrives next year. Frontwoman Alecia "Mixi" Demner told Loudwire: "It's gonna be a little unique for the rock community, because it's not gonna be the way that albums are usually released. We're gonna try something kind of a little different to give people music consistently, like an every month you get a new song kind of thing."
Demner added: "I'm really excited about how it's gonna roll out. We're just trying something new, I think that with streaming and everything that's going on, this might actually help."
STITCHED UP HEART previously issued four singles this year, including "Lost", which features frontman Sully Erna from recent tourmates GODSMACK.
Demner added that the band's new LP is finished, mixed and mastered, saying that the group recorded some 70 songs for the project. She was not sure whether the unused tracks will appear on future releases or not.
STITCHED UP HEART recently announced that it will join STEEL PANTHER as direct support on a North American tour in November and December.
Demner performed as a vocalist in various bands before starting STITCHED UP HEART in 2010. She told Spokesman.com that her influences are appropriately and wildly eclectic: PANTERA, GLASSJAW, DEFTONES, Louis Armstrong.
"I really like mixing those elements," Demner said, "the heavy, drop-tuned guitars with something that catches your attention and that you can remember." | +1

MACHINE HEAD's ROBB FLYNN Fires Back At Critics Over 'Do Or Die' Song
MACHINE HEAD frontman Robb Flynn has fired back at critics of the band's new song "Do Or Die".
Ever since "Do Or Die" was released last Friday, there have been numerous complaints on social media about the track's chorus, which features the line "Die, Motherfucker, Die", with some fans pointing out its similarity to DOPE's 2001 song "Die MF Die". In addition, a number of people have slammed the song's lyrics as juvenile and cringeworthy, featuring such lines as "there's not a metal band I ain't influenced" and "we're not CHIMAIRA or STRAPPING YOUNG LAD," apparently aimed at MACHINE HEAD's detractors, in particular those who have disapproved of the band's last album, 2018's "Catharsis".
Earlier today, Flynn — who is currently on the road in Europe as part of MACHINE HEAD's "Burn My Eyes" 25th-anniversary tour — took to his Instagram to share a 1995 video of him saying "c'mon, motherfucker, c'mon" to the crowd at a show in The Netherlands, and to call out the "sausage gobblers" and "Internet twatholes" who have been critical of "Do Or Die"'s lyrics.
Flynn wrote: "To all the bitchass internet troll motherfuckers who keep whining and menstrating about how 'Do Or Die' has lyrics from the band DOPE. Here's a little fucking reminder for your moronic nu-metal-brain's, since 1993 in our song 'fuck at all' I've been saying 'c'mon motherfucker c'mon' in the middle break down. Here's video of me in 1995 saying it at Dynamo! It was a good seven years before Dopes 2001's 'Die MF Die' came out you fuckin sausage gobblers!⠀
⠀
"DUH!!⠀
⠀
"Not to mention that any fucking band on the planet saying '______ motherfucker ______' in any combination (and that goes for COAL CHAMBER, FIVE FINGER DEATH PUNCH, DOPE, and yes, MACHINE HEAD) are all jacking it from 1984's hip hop classic 'The Roof Is On Fire' by Rock Master Scott & The Dynamic Three. Know your fucking musical history fuckboi's!!⠀
⠀
"And if I hear one more fucking internet twathole moaning about 'cringe worthy lyrics' while they sit in front of their computers stroking their little fucking boners to the lyrical genius of fucking BABYMETAL, eat a bowl of cock! Because the second the PANTERA's 'walk' comes on, with such lyrical Edgar Allan Poe-esque masterpiece is like 'run your mouth when I'm not around it's easy to achieve' and 'walk on home boy' Or LAMB OF GOD's 'this is a motherfucking invitation' these same fucking brain-donors run right out to the dance floor and start headbanging!⠀And rightly so!!
⠀
"P.S. Who the fuck listens to DOPE!!??"
MACHINE HEAD's Marius Milinski-directed music video for "Do Or Die" can be seen below. The track is available now on all digital platforms via Imperium Recordings/Nuclear Blast.
"Do Or Die" was produced by Flynn and Zack Ohren (FALLUJAH, ALL SHALL PERISH) at Sharkbite Studios in Oakland, California. It was mixed by Russ Russell (AT THE GATES, NAPLAM DEATH, SIKTH) at Parlour Studios in the United Kingdom. The mastering was handled by Gene Grimaldi at Oasis Mastering in Burbank, California.
"Do Or Die" was recorded last December by Flynn, bassist Jared MacEachern and WARBRINGER drummer Carlos Cruz.
Cruz stepped in to play on "Do Or Die" following the departure of MACHINE HEAD's longtime drummer Dave McClain.

Listen To New LEPROUS Song 'Distant Bells'
Norwegian rock outfit LEPROUS has released another new song, "Distant Bells". The track is taken from the band's sixth and most ambitious studio album, "Pitfalls", which is due on October 25 worldwide via InsideOut Music.
LEPROUS bassist Simen Børven said: "The instrumental part of 'Distant Bells' is a compilation of my musical background. Influences from Nordic jazz and symphonic pop infuses the attempt of stretching an extremely simple idea, from almost nothing, to an explosion towards the ending of the song. To me, the composition is like an evolution from a single self-replicating cell into a complex sentient being."
Added vocalist Einar Solberg: "It was both challenging and very refreshing to work on 'Distant Bells', as the main instrumental idea didn't come from me. It opened up new doors of creativity within myself and it was very exciting to do the melody and lyrics for this track. It's a very different LEPROUS track, and it turned out to be one of my personal favorites. Simen has a different musical background than myself, and our contradictions are probably what made this song shine so bright."
"Pitfalls" was once again recorded with David Castillo at Ghostward Studios (OPETH, KATATONIA). The disc was mixed by Adam Noble (PLACEBO, BIFFY CLYRO, NOTHING BUT THIEVES, DEAF HAVANA). The cover artwork is a painting by Indonesian artist Elicia Edijanto.
"Pitfalls" will be available as limited mediabook CD with two bonus tracks, as a standard jewelcase CD and as gatefold 2LP on 180-gram vinyl (on black vinyl and various limited colored editions) with the album on CD as bonus and an etching on the D side.
"Pitfalls" track listing:
01. Below
02. I Lose Hope
03. Observe The Train
04. By My Throne
05. Alleviate
06. At The Bottom
07. Distant Bells
08. Foreigner
09. The Sky Is Red
Solberg stated about the upcoming album: "We're incredibly proud to announce 'Pitfalls'! It's the album no-one is expecting from LEPROUS. When you think you know where it's headed, you'll realize that you're wrong. It's not only by far the biggest production and musical departure we've done, but the also most personal and honest.
"The album has been written through one of my toughest years, where I struggled with depression and anxiety. No filters, no metaphors, just the truth. They say that writing music is therapeutic. but I would say that it's an understatement. For me, 'Pitfalls' is the result of one and a half years of learning how to get through the dark tunnel. The music has been my torch."
Upon "Pitfalls"' release, LEPROUS will head out on an extensive European headlining tour with THE OCEAN and PORT NOIR.
LEPROUS is:
Robin Ognedal - guitar
Baard Kolstad - drums
Einar Solberg - vocals/synth
Simen Børven - bass
Tor Oddmund Suhrke – guitar

Listen To New AIRBOURNE Single 'Backseat Boogie'
Australian hard rockers AIRBOURNE have released "Backseat Boogie", the second single from their forthcoming studio album, "Boneshaker".
"Boneshaker" will be released on October 25 via Spinefarm Records. The cover artwork for the disc is a collaboration between Matt Read of Combustion Ltd., and Sean Tidy of Design House Studio Ltd.
With the creation of "Boneshaker", AIRBOURNE decided to take the bolder path; to align with Nashville's number one producer Dave Cobb, whose credits include both Chris Stapleton and "A Star Is Born" soundtrack, as a way of staking out new turf away from comfort zones and safe havens…
AIRBOURNE frontman Joel O'Keeffe states about "Backseat Boogie": "The riff, this is one of those ones where Cobb walked out and said, 'What are you playing there?' and I was, 'Ah, I'm just playing this riff. It's this riff I had in Australia. It's got a bit of a vibe. I'm not sure.' He goes, 'Aw, man, we gotta do that one,' and he got behind the drums and picked up Ryan's drumsticks and said, 'Oh, man. How does he play with these things? These things are baseball bats,' and it was just really funny. And Ryan jumped on the kit, and we tracked it right then and there."
Ryan O'Keeffe adds: "It all happened really fast. The band's lucky to have had a lot of time rehearsing together and playing together, but we tracked songs before we even thought we tracked them. He'd say, 'Give it another go if you want, but the one you just did, and here's the first one you did, and that's the vibe."
On the topic of the artwork, guitarist Matthew Harrison states: "The whole sentiment we were after was about rock 'n' roll for life. We wanted to create something tattoo worthy, and that the artwork was classic and stood the test of time."
Relocating to historic Studio A on Nashville's Music Row, six-time Grammy Award-winning producer Cobb's natural home and one of Music City's most prized creative hubs, the four musicians set themselves a challenge: to make a record cut from the same frayed cloth as those classic late-'70s recordings from Australia's legendary Albert's house of "Oz Rock" that inspired the band so much.
There are no weird tangents here, no un-called for asides, no messin' about. This is straight-down-the-line pure rock 'n' roll drama smelling of burnt rubber, spilt gasoline and valves glowing red hot. No ballads, no acoustic guitars, no keyboards. 10 tracks, 30 minutes of music. Everything lean an' lethal, stripped to the bone, to those essential elements that rock 'n' roll requires to properly do its work: raging guitars, pounding bass 'n' bass, vocals packed full of real personality — the kind of passion that only comes from willfully pursuing a life on the line.
"It's a live gig in the studio. This is always something we wanted to do — find a way to bring the soul and power of an AIRBOURNE live show into an album. Cobb caught our lightning and put it in a bottle," states Joel O'Keeffe.

MOLLY HATCHET To Release 'Battleground' Live Album
It's no secret that a lot of fans measure the artistic value of a rock band mainly by the quality of a group's live performance. THE ALLMAN BROTHERS without their legendary concerts? Unthinkable! LYNYRD SKYNYRD as just another anemic studio project? Impossible to imagine! The same goes for MOLLY HATCHET as another legendary force among these protagonists of the longstanding history of Southern rock that, alongside lots of outstanding studio recordings, the band's full potential comes into effect live on stage. Again and again, the musicians surrounding guitarist Bobby Ingram have reinforced their reputation as an awesome live act in brilliant live "battles," so it comes as no surprise that requests by their international fan base for a new live recording have been growing increasingly insistent for a number of years.
"Battleground" was recorded in Pratteln, Switzerland, in Ludwigsburg, Germany, and during MOLLY HATCHET's 40th-anniversary tour of the United States and features amazing cover artwork created by Paul Raymond Gregory (SAXON, BLIND GUARDIAN, URIAH HEEP, among others).
Ingram looks back with legitimate pride and unmistakable modesty not only at the new live album but also at the band's career to date.
"MOLLY HATCHET has now been in the mainstream of Southern rock for over forty years and still counting," he says. "That in and of itself is an honor for every band member who experienced the journey along the way." It's this honor that listeners sense in every note on "Battleground".
The upcoming shows will see Ingram & Co. not only present their greatest hits, they will also introduce their new vocalist Jimmy Elkins, who has joined the fold to replace the late Phil McCormack, who sadly passed away in April 2019. Elkins was the frontman of Florida band BOUNTY HUNTER for a number of years, an act who has shared a stage with MOLLY HATCHET on various occasions over the past two decades.
"To us it was the logical next step to ask Jimmy to become our new vocalist," Ingram explains. "You can tell that he has the Southern rock gene and is a perfect match for MOLLY HATCHET, not only on a musical but also on a personal level."
"Battleground" will be released through SPV/Steamhammer on November 29 as 2CD digipak, 3LP gatefold version, download and stream.

EDDIE VAN HALEN Rumoured To Be Battling Throat Cancer
TMZ is reporting that guitar legend Eddie Van Halen has been flying between the United States and Germany to get treatment for throat cancer. This has presumably been going on for several years.
From TMZ: "He believes it's from a metal guitar pick he used more than 20 years ago. Seems Eddie would cradle the pick in his mouth, and he's been told that could well have been the source of the cancer, despite the fact he was a heavy smoker. Back in 2000, shortly after he was diagnosed, doctors removed around 1/3 of his tongue. Eddie was diagnosed nearly 20 years ago. Sources with direct knowledge tell us ... over the years there were times some of the cancer cells migrated down to his throat, and doctors would scrape them out. Our sources say Eddie has flown to Germany for 5 years to get radiation treatment, and for the most part it's worked to keep the disease in check."
Keep in mind none of the above information has been confirmed and remains a rumour at this time.
In the new video below from Guitar World, Matt Brown from EVH shows us new models based on the iconic Van Halen 5150 striped guitar. More info here.
EVH Gear recently announced irresistible new guitar and amp models for your supreme playing pleasure. Here’s a quick look at their hot new gear...
5150® Deluxe Models
Style and performance collide in the all-new 5150® Series Deluxe, which takes a contemporary spin on the crowd-favorite original striped model that Eddie Van Halen debuted in 1984.
Putting the stripes on hold, the 5150 Deluxe takes a stately approach in a Tobacco Sunburst or Transparent Blue Burst finish over a rippling quilt maple top.
The 5150 Deluxe feature a deeper upper body curve contoured for maximum playing comfort, while the sturdy bolt-on quartersawn maple modified “C” profile neck with graphite reinforcement holds up under the roughest of playing. The 12”-16” compound radius ebony fingerboard with 22 jumbo frets provides a slick surface for brisk solos.
Unlike its predecessor, the 5150 Deluxe features not one but two direct mount EVH Wolfgang humbuckers that nail Eddie Van Halen’s signature stinging style with bright highs and bite-y mids. The high-friction tone knob makes intonation even more customizable for articulate performances, while the custom designed EVH-branded low friction volume knob creates more tapering for the smoothest volume swells.
The top-mount EVH-branded Floyd Rose locking trem keeps the 5150 in tune dive bomb after dive bomb, while the EVH D-Tuna shifts you from standard to dropped D tuning with a flick of the wrist.
5150® Series Standard
The 5150 Series Standard share all the same pedigree features of its 5150 Series Deluxe brethren sans the quilt top and ebony fingerboard. Instead, the 5150 Standard comes in Matte Army Drab, Rocket Red or Satin Primer Gray finishes with a 12”-16” compound radius maple fingerboard.
Otherwise, same pickups, EVH D-Tuna, top-mount EVH-branded Floyd Rose locking trem and more.
Limited Edition Wolfgang Special Ash
The Limited Edition Wolfgang Special Ash is a full-blooded music machine boasting stunning style and huge sound.
The ash body with arched top sports a Natural finish that shows off the intricate wood grain, and is wrapped in black binding for a sophisticated touch. A graphite-reinforced bolt-on quartersawn maple neck holds up under the rigors of heavy riffing, while the 12”-16” compound radius ebony fingerboard with 22 jumbo frets is primed for energetic chording or blazing leads.
Custom designed EVH® Wolfgang Alnico 2 humbucking bridge and neck pickups radiate dynamic tone with endless sustain.
This limited offering also features an EVH-branded Floyd Rose® tremolo and locking nut, EVH D-Tuna® and black hardware.
Wolfgang WG Standard
The Wolfgang WG Standard is a playable work of art. Its basswood body is finished in a Gold Top finish with masked-off natural body binding, a feature usually only offered on Standards with quilt tops.
Dual direct mount Wolfgang humbuckers give the Wolfgang WG Standard its signature snarl of no-nonsense overdrive and sustain or articulate, shimmering cleans. 500k pots deliver the smoothest volume swells and bring out the impeccable simmering tone in the pickups.
Dive bomb until your heart’s content without ever going out of tune thanks to the EVH-branded Floyd Rose Special double-locking tremolo.
Delivering monstrous sound and exquisite style, this Gold Top axe is also easier on the wallet at a mid-level price point.
EL34 50W Combo Amps
These compact and portable new puppies deliver harmonic overtones with increased dynamic compression and saturation to evoke a modern “British” sound. The 5150III 50W EL34 1×12 Combo is loaded with a single 12” custom EVH Celestion® speaker, while the 5150III 50W EL34 2×12 Combo is packed with two 12” custom EVH Celestion® speakers with seven JJ ECC83 (12AX7) preamp tubes and two JJ EL34 power tubes for enhanced, articulate sound.
Channel one delivers pristine cleans and compressed tone and channels two and three deliver plenty kick-you-in-the-gut overdrive and liquid distortion for blazing leads. Channels one and two each have dual concentric gain/volume controls, with shared EQ (low, mid, high), while channel 3 has an independent EQ. Other features include a rear-panel resonance control that tailors low-frequency response for all channels and a global presence control.
The cabinet of these combo amps is constructed out of birch and is wrapped in black textured vinyl with a black and gold striped control panel motif.
’79 Bumblebee
Last, and definitely NOT least, there’s the ’79 Bumblebee tribute model, a recreation of the iconic black-with-yellow-stripes model seen on the cover of Van Halen’s 1979 album, Van Halen II. Limited to only 50 pieces worldwide, these reliced instruments feature all of the original specs, including an ash Strat body, bolt-on birdseye maple neck with an oiled back finish, straight 12” radius birdseye maple fingerboard with 22 jumbo frets, katalox dots and black side dots, and skirted Strat-style “Tone” volume knob.
Additionally, the guitar has been outfitted with an EVH ’79 Bumblebee humbucking bridge pickup. EVH also matched the Bumblebee’s six screw holes (hidden under the original prototype’s non-fine tuner locking tremolo bridge, which EVH recreated just for this project), along with the original prototype locking nut. All hardware has been reliced, including the custom brass string retainer, screw-eye strap hooks, side output jack and original period-correct Schaller tuning machines.

Listen To New PRETTY MAIDS Song 'Firesoul Fly'
"Firesoul Fly", a brand new song from Danish hard rock veterans PRETTY MAIDS, can be streamed below. The track is taken from the band's upcoming album, "Undress Your Madness", which will be released on November 8 via Frontiers Music Srl.
"Undress Your Madness" is PRETTY MAIDS' highly anticipated follow-up to 2016's critically and commercially successful release "Kingmaker", a record that continued the "revitalized" path that the band set out upon with the now stone cold classic albums "Pandemonium" and "Motherland". It's always difficult to follow a successful and inspired record, but "Undress Your Madness" shows PRETTY MAIDS are still in the freshest and most vital phase of their career since the early 90's.
"I think the new album is a kind of continuation of what we've done the past ten years," says singer Ronnie Atkins. "I'm really happy about the way it turned out 'cause there's a lot of good songs on it in my humble opinion and it's probably even more melodic than our previous efforts."
The production, as always, is absolutely stellar thanks to Jacob Hansen (VOLBEAT, AMARANTHE, KOBRA AND THE LOTUS), who has given the band a sound that not only reinvigorates them, but also incorporates the beloved soundscapes of the past. Modern and classic at the same time, if you will. "It's just a match made in heaven, I think. There's a great chemistry between us, we share the same humor and thoughts about what a good song is, so there's a lot in common," continues Ronnie. "Quite simply the most gentle and easy-going guy I've ever worked with."
What can then be said about Ronnie Atkins and Ken Hammer? One of the best songwriting teams in the genre, hands down. Atkins's voice just gets better and better as the years go by. Menacing and vicious one minute, melodic and soothing the next. Likewise, Hammer is on fire here and lays down some of his heaviest riffs in recent memory. Rene Shades's bass playing is as thunderous as ever, propelling the incredible rhythms of the songs along with the superb drumming of Allan Sørensen, who's playing matches perfectly with what each song calls for. Chris Laney's keyboards add a wonderful texture and nuance to these brilliant compositions, tying everything together in the perfect package.
Every track on this beauty is worthy of your attention, whether it is an in-your-face barn burner such as the storming opener "Serpentine", the title track, and "Black Thunder" or timeless melodic metal anthems such as "Firesoul Fly" and "Will You Still Kiss Me (If I See You In Heaven)", or even a superb power ballad like "Shadowlands".
"The album was written in a very short period of time," says Atkins. "Basically, it was written in January, just prior to recording it in February this year. So everything was very fresh when we entered the studio, in fact, so fresh that some of the songs were hardly finished when we started, but it all fell into place as we preceded with the recordings."
"Undress Your Madness" track listing:
01. Intro
02. Serpentine
03. Firesoul Fly
04. Undress Your Madness
05. Will You Still Kiss Me (If I See You In Heaven)
06. Runaway World
07. If You Want Peace (Prepare For War)
08. Slavedriver
09. Shadowlands
10. Black Thunder
11. Strength Of A Rose
Lineup:
Ronnie Atkins - Vocals
Ken Hammer - Guitars
Rene Shades - Bass
Chris Laney - Keyboards
Allan Sørensen - Drums
Last week, Atkins revealed that he has been diagnosed with lung cancer. According to PRETTY MAIDS, all of the band's previously announced shows have been canceled and all of the group's "plans are on hold." The band says: "ALL focus is now on Ronnie's health and undergoing treatment." | +3

Bach kicked off his tour celebrating the 30th anniversary of SKID ROW's self-titled debut album on August 29 at the Cannery Ballroom in Nashville, Tennessee.
In June, Bach issued an "open invitation" to the other members of SKID ROW's classic lineup to "get onstage and jam" during the vocalist's current tour. A few days later, during an interview with Finland's Kaaos TV, guitarist Dave "Snake" Sabo confirmed that he would not accept Bach's latest overture. "I'm working with my band," he said. "This is SKID ROW, and this is what I do."
Drummer Rob Affuso — who left SKID ROW in 1998 and claims to be "the only former member that keeps in contact with all former SKID ROW bandmates and is still good friends with them all" — subsequently joined Bach on September 25 at Sony Hall in New York City to play the band's classic song "Makin' A Mess".
Asked by Rolling Stone if he thinks his former bandmates are offended that he put his invitation out there publicly, Bach said: "No. I think it's an ego thing. They don't like when I get attention, and they don't get attention. It's always been like that. I can already see them getting mad, because I'm selling out shows, and they're not part of the show, and blah, blah, blah."
