Sepultura recently launched the SepulQuarta sessions, a weekly event where the band will give insight into the band’s colourful history, do a Q&A session and perform a song live. The newest sessions features the playthrough of "Capital Enslavement", taken from their new album Quadra.
“SepulQuadra was born out of the necessity to express ourselves in a different way since we’re all facing a new situation. We came with this idea still influenced by the concept of our last album Quadra, using geometry, numerology and numbers. Wednesday, which is the fourth day of the week, was chosen for an event ”, explains Andreas Kisser.
Join the band every Wednesday at 4 PM, Brazilian official time (Noon, PST and 9 PM, CET) for a new SepulQuarta, here.

Northlane’s fifth album, Alien, is their boldest and most personal yet, as well as their most successful. It had fans and critics raving, racking up over 30 million streams, prompting sold-out shows worldwide and winning the band’s third ARIA Award for "Best Hard Rock or Heavy Album".
Today, the band announces a limited edition deluxe version of Alien, which will come in the form of a strictly limited edition 2xLP neon pink set, featuring the original version of the album plus Enemy Of The Night as well as the full record as instrumentals. Pre-order Alien Deluxe here.
"'Enemy Of The Night' (visualizer below) was the last song to be completed and is personally my favourite song from the Alien sessions. It has a similar, storytelling style to 'Freefall' as it recounts memories and experiences from my childhood of my father falling deeper into addiction and the desperate things people will do to satisfy those needs. Despite his best efforts, he was never able to beat his demons. This song is the missing piece to the Alien puzzle and I can’t wait for everyone to hear it," says Marcus Bridge.
Bon Jovi remotely performed their single, "Limitless", on last night's season finale of NBC singing competition, The Voice. "Limitless" will be featured on the band’s upcoming album, 2020. Watch the performance below:
Bon Jovi 2020, the new album from Bon Jovi, will be released this fall. Pe-order the album here.
Jon Bon Jovi on the album’s title: “The meaning behind it - there’s the obvious. It’s an election year, and I couldn’t do any worse. And I also have clear vision. This House Is Not For Sale dealt with a lot of personal matters, and now it’s behind us. So, 2020 - of course, it’s an election year, but more importantly, it’s that I have clear vision going forward.”
Tracklisting:
"Beautiful Drug"
"Unbroken"
"Limitless"
"Luv Can"

Professionally filmed video footage of EMPEROR's November 15, 2019 performance in Tokyo, Japan can be seen below.
Last year, EMPEROR frontman Ihsahn (real name: Vegard Sverre Tveitan) once again dismissed the idea of the band writing and recording a comeback album. The group's last studio LP, "Prometheus - The Discipline Of Fire & Demise", was released in 2001 and was written entirely by Ihsahn. EMPEROR broke up shortly thereafter, with Ihsahn going on to pursue a solo career, while guitarist Samoth (real name: Tomas Thormodsæter Haugen) partook in a variety of bands, including SCUM and ZYKLON. EMPEROR has reunited frequently in ensuing years to perform live, but has continually resisted calls to release new material, something Ihsahn says won't change anytime soon.
"As you know, EMPEROR developed, at some point, I ended up making more and more of the music and eventually, I did all the music," he told Loud TV. "We'd rather stop at the level where we were all creatively involved, rather than doing it for keeping the logo or for any of those reasons. At this point, there's so much nostalgia attached to what we do, and we've been in the privileged position that people have developed similar relationships to these old songs that we did, as we are fans, to other bands. It's a very humbling position to be in. If you turned it around, what kind of EMPEROR could we possibly do? What kind of EMPEROR could we possibly do? We should make something that sounds like old EMPEROR? Or should we do something like EMPEROR would sound today? If it was up to me, EMPEROR would sound like my solo records because that's how I write metal. It's kind of a lose-lose thing. The whole point of black metal, people want something that is real and has integrity of what it is. At this point, none of us can see any reason to do that beyond what we already do. Just speaking for myself, I get to play all these old songs to people who have this strong relationship to it, in a similar way as I as a fan, have. But I also get to do my solo albums and continue that musical journey, and I see no reason to change that. We are at a very fine position now that we all just get to do what all of us wants. If there's some kind of festival or some kind of show that doesn't fit into our schedule, that's fine. We do just the stuff that is cool for us to do."
Ihsahn released "Telemark", the first of two new five-song EPs, in February via Candlelight. The effort represents the heavier side of Ihsahn's music, while the companion EP — to be released at a later date — will show his more progressive side.
"Point The Finger", the new music video from BODY COUNT, the metal band fronted by hip-hop legend, actor and director Ice-T, can be seen below. The song, which features a guest appearance by vocalist Riley Gale of the popular Texan crossover thrash outfit POWER TRIP, is taken from BODY COUNT's seventh studio album, "Carnivore", released on March 6 via Century Media.
Due to the coronavirus crisis, the "Point The Finger" clip was shot entirely with the bandmembers' cell phones in home quarantine, produced and edited by Jay Rodriguez for Itchy House Films.
BODY COUNT's second album for Century Media, "Carnivore" continues the path of its uncompromising and critically acclaimed predecessors, "Bloodlust" (2017) and "Manslaugther" (2014), in pairing Ice-T's impassioned and socio-critical lyrics with thick guitar riffs and nods to metal and hardcore greats like SLAYER, METALLICA, PANTERA, SUICIDAL TENDENCIES and RAGE AGAINST THE MACHINE. Bangers like "Thee Critical Beatdown", "The Hate Is Real" and the title track will please old-school BODY COUNT fans, while "Colors" is a killer metal version of Ice-T's 1988 hit single of the same name. With MOTÖRHEAD's classic "Ace Of Spades", BODY COUNT is again paying tribute to one of its major musical influences. "When I'm Gone" shows a new side of BODY COUNT and features guest vocals by Amy Lee (EVANESCENCE). Other guest musicians include Dave Lombardo (ex-SLAYER) and Jamey Jasta (HATEBREED).
To mark the 10th anniversary of his passing, The Blairing Out With Eric Blair Show has unearthed a 2008 video interview of Ronnie James Dio. When asked what gives him the most peace, he says his animals.
“Without them I wouldn’t have any peace at all,” the legendary singer explains. “I’m always thinking and I’m always writing. My brain never stops. But with them my brain stops. Writing doesn’t give me any peace because there is always somewhere for it to go. It wasn’t good enough. It was never good enough. That’s why I don’t listen to what I’ve done in the past. I listen to it and then I question myself. There is no peace in creation for me.”

Professionally filmed video footage of METALLICA performing the song "Halo On Fire" on May 8 at SNAI San Siro Hippodrome in Milan, Italy can be seen below.
METALLICA's "WorldWired" tour has played more than 130 shows across the world since its 2016 kick-off.
Last November, drummer Lars Ulrich told The Mercury News that the trek could last through early 2020.
The San Francisco Bay Area metal giants have been touring in support of their latest album, "Hardwired… To Self-Destruct", which came out in November 2016.
With dates already locked in through the fall, Ulrich was asked if he is tired of touring yet. He replied: "We have the luxury, and we are very fortunate, to be able to set a touring schedule that works really well for us. We kind of set boundaries. We have a two-week rule, so that after two weeks we come home and see our families and kids and get a sense of San Francisco. So, for about a decade, we've had a really good setup in terms of how we balance all of it. It takes longer to play the same amount of dates. But the good news is that our chances for not losing our minds — or for playing all the shows, physically, mentally — are much higher, because we have a pace that we feel is at the right level for us. So, it's good. We still have to go to Australia. We still have to go to Japan. We have a couple of other things planned after Europe."
Pressed about whether there is any chance the tour will reach into 2020, Lars said: "This may just dip into the beginning of 2020."
Texas metal outfit The Crowned recently released “Creed”, a pummeling new single and video which recently premiered on the David Ellefson Youth Music Foundation/Grammy Music Education Coalition Oh Say Can You Stream broadcast, and the follow-up Make-Up Test, which featured heavy hitters such as Randy Blythe, Brian “Head” Welch, Chuck Billy, Alice Cooper, Dee Snider, Rob Caggiano (Volbeat), Dirk Verbeuren and Kiko Loureiro (Megadeth), Chris Kael (Five Finger Death Punch), and more which streamed to over half a million viewers.
The Crowned recently returned from the “Hell Has No Mercy” tour with The 69 Eyes and Wednesday 13, where the band performed the song live every night to overwhelming response, making it an obvious choice for the next single.
Says drummer/vocalist Marc Coronado, “Being out with Wednesday 13 and the 69 Eyes, across the US, playing this song every night, the crowd loved it, and we knew we had to get home and record it. So, that’s what we did. David and Thom offered to include us in their David Ellefson Youth Music Foundation livestream, and it was a huge success, and such an amazing platform to debut the song and video, and an amazing thing to be a part of, with so many other legendary artists. Obviously, we’re a live band, and we’d love to be out touring, but the COVID 19 situation, made us, like everyone else, rethink our plans, and it seemed like a great time to release some new music.”
The Crowned is currently working on their sophomore album with tentative plans to finish in 2020, and expect to be touring some more once music venues open up and festivals are back on track.
“The Mourning,” the latest video from all-star modern metal band Imonolith’s weekly “The Quarantine Sessions” video series, is available now.
Says drummer Ryan Van Poederooyen, "’The Quarantine Sessions’ are getting pretty fun to do for all of us in Imonolith. We’re changing it up with every session we do. The videos have been getting a great response from our supporters and we’ve been gaining new supporters along the way. It’s a great way for all of us in Imonolith to keep active and give people something fun to watch. Jon’s kicking ass editing the videos and we’re all having fun recording our parts for it.
“This is our fourth song we’re releasing called, ‘The Mourning’.. It’s a song about being yourself and not conforming to someone else’s idea of how you should live your life or do things… you’ll become one of 'The Mourning' as a result. The song is a bit left field compared to the rest of the record and we love that! Jon’s vocal performance is pretty unique and varied throughout this track. Beav and Kai have guitar solos in this song that possess a lot of twists and turns, while Scott and I lay down a plotting, heavy foundation. Hope you dig it, and don’t forget to check out our Live Imonolith Instagram Feed tomorrow at 12:30 p.m. Pacific Time with some Imonolith members. See you there!”
Imonolith features drummer Ryan Van Poederooyen (Devin Townsend Project) guitarist Brian ‘Beav’ Wadell (Devin Townsend Project), Jon Howard (Threat Signal), guitarist Kai Huppunen (Methods of Mayhem, Noise Therapy) and Scott Whalen (Econoline Crush). The collective of heavy-hitting players is at the top of their game recently releasing their debut album, State of Being, on March 27. The album features special guest appearances from Jens Kidman (Meshuggah) and famed Swedish vocalist Johannes Eckerström and is made up of 10 hook-laden, riff-heavy tracks that center around the theme of how people deal with various stages of life.
The album has seen the release of four singles and videos – “Hollow,” the 2019 debut single that made big waves, racking up 216K Spotify streams, “Instinct,” “Dig”; and the most recent single, “Becoming The Enemy.” With the release of these singles, Imonolith has already received worldwide praise that has garnered them a massive number of streams and attention from the media and fans alike.

For Solitude In Madness, Vader went outside their comfort zone to Grindstone Studios in Suffolk, England, where the band teamed up with one-stop-shop Scott Atkins to engineer, produce, mix, and master for four weeks in summer 2019.

They recently posted live bootleg footage from a 1993 show at the Kingswood Music Theatre at Canada's Wonderland in Toronto. Check it out below.
Speaking exclusively with BraveWords, drummer Dan Fila confirmed that the song "Hurt" appearing on the EP is, in fact, an unreleased song from the early '90s.
"We put a spin on it," said Fila when BraveWords asked for confirmation of our suspicions, "but yes, it is that song."

Dream Theater keyboardist Jordan Rudess has posted a new solo performance video with the following message:
"This is a performance of the song 'Kindred Spirits' from Liquid Tension Experiment. I put together this piano arrangement for the Prog Report online concert."

On May 17, 2019, Rammstein released their self-titled album; their seventh overall. In January 2019, a documentary team followed the band on a multi-day photosession for their upcoming release.
The following "making-of" video has just been issued:
Rammstein's self-titled album hit #1 in over ten countries. Furthermore, it was the best-selling album of 2019 in Germany, Austria, and Switzerland.
The organizers behind Germany's legendary Wacken Open Air Fest have just released the following video featuring Ugly Kid Joe performing their hit single "Everything About You" to a crowd, which was "without a doubt the best crowd" the band had on their 2017 tour. Enjoy!
During an interview with eonmusic in July 2019, Ugly Kid Joe singer Whitfield Crane spoke about the difference between the band now, and in their earlier days, Crane commented; "We wanted to prove ourselves. Now, years later, the very songs that used to annoy me, I see the joy in it. Music is really special, as you well know, and so it’s beautiful."
Going on to chat about the band's huge success on the back of single "Everything About You" in 1991, the singer said; "Eye of the storm’ is a good way to put it, because, it just was all happening at a deadly fast gait. And it was a lot, it was beautiful, and also, very challenging, because there’s a lot of people that surround the business of music that are full of shit, but when you’re 23 / 24, you don’t know how to negotiate that, so on one hand it was super fun and we did all the things you should do at that age, and on the other hand, it was too much for me. But we survived it, and I can deal with it all now."
In November 2019, Ugly Kid Joe began work on their as yet untitled fifth studio album, which will be the follow-up to 2015's Uglier Than They Used To Be.
The original video for "Everything About You" is available below.
BPMD — the new heavy metal juggernaut featuring vocalist Bobby "Blitz" Ellsworth (OVERKILL), drummer Mike Portnoy (THE WINERY DOGS, SONS OF APOLLO), bassist Mark Menghi (METAL ALLEGIANCE) and guitarist Phil Demmel (VIO-LENCE, ex-MACHINE HEAD) — will release its debut album, "American Made", on June 12 via Napalm Records. The 10-track homage to some of rock music's greatest treasures is turbocharged by the experience and enthusiasm of its four creators.
Today, the members of BPMD have revealed another track from the album — their re-energized version of the blues standard "Evil", originally written by American blues musician Willie Nixon. BPMD's version is actually inspired by another popular re-imagining of the song by hard rock greats CACTUS, and can be experienced via a brand new lyric video, which can be seen below.
Menghi says about "Evil": "CACTUS is a lost American treasure that needs more recognition. They were doing things on their instruments (and as a band) before many of their contemporaries/peers/labelmates of the time. We were fully aware that the great Willie Dixon wrote this tune for Howlin' Wolf in the early 1950s… CACTUS reimagined the song for the their time of the early '70s, we reimagined CACTUS's version for our generation in the early '20s… so for a tune that is 65+ years old that's still being covered says something… a good tune can stand the test of time."
Ellsworth adds: "I choose my cuts on the record for two reasons: 1) how they would fit my voice, and 2) a deeper, heavier cut. I really love the grit in Rusty Day's voice on the CACTUS track and wanted to replicate it with my own — not copy per se, but for sure not lose that grit. The song to me, though blues-based, is the perfect bridge into the heavy metal that followed. I used the basic vocal line as to not lose the integrity but reimagined it with more of a 'metal' phrasing. 'Evil' is really one of the BPMD tracks I am most proud of. You're a long way from home..."
Acclaimed drummer and CACTUS member Carmine Appice says about the cover: "A new twist on 'Evil', one of the best, kick-ass blues/rock songs of all time. This version will appeal to BPMD's heavy metal fans. I was glad to hear the CACTUS arrangement of the song, but with the bass, drums and guitar heavied up even more… Phil's guitar solo revs up with lots of energy… with Portnoy and Menghi kicking under it, while keeping that energy going. Bobby's vocals sit nicely on top and I really liked the change in some of the phrasing. Great job, guys!"
It's evident within the initial seconds of BPMD's "American Made", as Blitz chants the introductory lyrics to Ted Nugent's "Wang Dang Sweet Poontang" in his signature skyscraper-high howl, that he and his equally iconic bandmates are here to have a damn good time. Featuring 10 unforgettable rock classics reimagined as heavy bangers, "American Made" is a party on wax. Tracks such as the raucous "Toys In The Attic" and rager-ready "Beer Drinkers & Hell Raisers" (ZZ TOP) prove that BPMD not only manages to capture the essence of each original track on the album, but skillfully transforms each classic into an unforgettable metallic anthem for a new age. The seasoned quartet flex their musical muscles on renowned classics such as "Saturday Night Special" (LYNYRD SKYNYRD), "We're An American Band" (GRAND FUNK RAILROAD) and "Walk Away" (JAMES GANG), and introduce a whole new heavy generation to deeper cuts like "Evil" and "Never In My Life" (MOUNTAIN). Channeling nostalgia while maintaining a fresh attitude, "American Made" is a summer soundtrack for all ages.
Menghi remarked on BPMD's origins: "Last summer, right after the Fourth of July, I was sitting in my backyard. I was listening to a bunch of '70s stuff and LYNYRD SKYNYRD's 'Saturday Night Special' came on. I said, 'Man, I would love to play that song,' and my eight-year-old son turned to me and said, 'You should do a record of all these songs, Dad.' And I was like, 'Hmmm? Yeah, why not!?!'"
After connecting over their mutual love for the classics and forming their current line-up, the members of BPMD traveled to Portnoy's home studio in Pennsylvania and set up shop. Since the whole concept of the band was born the night Menghi was listening to "Saturday Night Special", BPMD were determined to record the song for the album. Beyond that, each musician picked two '70s rock tracks and everyone had to learn them!
Menghi chose "Beer Drinkers & Hell Raisers" in addition to "Saturday Night Special". Blitz's choices were a little more obscure — "Never In My Life" replete with cowbell and a blazing repeated blues lick, and CACTUS's version of "Evil", a fiercely ZEPPELIN-like take on an old Willie Dixon song. For his tracks, Demmel picked "D.O.A." and had a blast channeling his inner Eddie Van Halen, and took a deep dive with "Tattoo Vampire". Recalling the days when Ted Nugent was more of a bad boy than a gunslinger, Portnoy picked "Wang Dang Sweet Poontang", in additon to "Toys In The Attic".
Menghi, who also co-produced "American Made", added: "We didn't go into it trying to make everything metal, we just wanted to play the way we play and this is what you get... we've all been influenced by a wide variety of bands including BLACK SABBATH, JUDAS PRIEST, IRON MAIDEN and METALLICA. So, of course, we're going to attack the songs a little harder than guys that didn't grow up on heavy music."
Blitz stated: "We made sure we did high-quality versions of these songs and gave them all a little twist. I think there's a place for that in the music world today. There's something really great about nostalgia, especially if it's reimagined."
"American Made" was mixed and mastered by Mark Lewis, also known for his work with METAL ALLEGIANCE (featuring Menghi and Portnoy), as well as artists such as DEVILDRIVER, TRIVIUM, and many others.

Progressive metal outfit Wilderun from Boston, Massachusetts, recently announced their worldwide signing with Century Media Records. While being locked at home they recorded an alternate version of “Hope & Shadow”, which was originally released on the band’s second album, Sleep At The Edge Of The Earth.
Wilderun comment: "We were super bummed when we were forced to postpone our recent tour, but we decided to keep ourselves busy in quarantine by starting a series of "Remote Rearrangements" of some of our previously released songs. 'Hope & Shadow' is from our 2nd album, and is part of the larger 'Ash Memory' suite. We decided to isolate this song, and give it a slightly different spin, and we're very happy with the result!"
Check out the video and listen to the song below:
On July 17, Wilderun will be releasing their already self-released third album, Veil Of Imagination as Ltd. CD Digipak (+ bonus track) and Gatefold black 2LP. The pre-order has started and is available here. Digitally the album is already available on all platforms.

In addition to finally getting this album out on vinyl, we're also looking forward to releasing a special cover of Iron Maiden's Seventh Son Of A Seventh Son as a bonus track on the CD rerelease, so our fans can get something extra with this new issue," state Wilderun.

Formed in 2012, Wilderun has previously released two albums, 2012’s Olden Tales & Deathly Trails and 2015’s Sleep At The Edge Of The Earth. With this slightly different approach to creating music, Veil Of Imagination transforms and expands upon Wilderun’s already indefinable style, resulting in an album that is at once beautiful and fierce. Clean vocals transform into deathly growls as the band alternates between exquisitely-composed orchestrations and savage metal, all executed with technical prowess.
