Watch PEARL JAM's Animated Music Video For 'Retrograde'

PEARL JAM official music video for the song "Retrograde" can be seen below. For the visual, the band teamed up with director Josh Wakely. The animated clip opens with a lone traveler driving through the rain and descending upon a strip mall. Visiting a psychic, the protagonist witnesses the destruction of the world in a crystal ball as the seas overtake the Eiffel Tower in Paris, London Bridge in London, and the group's native Seattle. Fluid animation moves like an oil painting in motion as the animated musicians — Eddie Vedder, Stone Gossard, Mike McCready, Jeff Ament and Matt Cameron — step out of their respect tarot cards and into a march. While the water continues to rise, climate change activist and revolutionary Greta Thunberg appears behind the crystal ball as a clairvoyant.

"Retrograde" is taken from PEARL JAM's latest album, "Gigaton", which has been hailed "superb", "fascinating and ambitious", "inspiring and engaging", "their finest studio hour" and "PEARL JAM's best in a generation." The critics and fans alike have praised the band's new LP, which bowed at No. 1 on the Billboard Top Rock Albums chart. Additionally, it landed in the Top 5 of the Billboard 200. Internationally, the album debuted No. 1 in Italy and Austria, Top 5 in Netherlands, Switzerland, Australia, Germany, Belgium, Norway, Canada, and Finland and Top 10 in the U.K., Ireland, and New Zealand.

At Metacritic, "Gigaton" registered the group's second highest cumulative critical score — only bested by their diamond-certified 1991 debut, "Ten". Among numerous positive reactions, Associated Press exclaimed, "PEARL JAM come roaring back with superb new album." In a four-out-of-five star review, Rolling Stone wrote, "The group has blended the miasmic angst of 'Jeremy' and 'Alive' with a sense of tenderness and even flashes of hope." UPROXX promised, "PEARL JAM is reliable on 'Gigaton' at a moment when nothing else is," and Spin christened it "Their best album since the late nineties."

Produced by Josh Evans and PEARL JAM, "Gigaton" marks the band's first studio album since Grammy Award-winning "Lightning Bolt", which was released in October 2013. Internationally, the album is available and distributed by Universal Music Group.

MISERY SIGNALS Returns With First Album In Seven Years, 'Ultraviolet'

One of the most influential and revered metalcore bands of the last decade, MISERY SIGNALS will make its long-awaited return in 2020 with the independent, self-funded release of its fourth album, "Ultraviolet", on August 7. The upcoming record marks their first full-length release in seven years, and first with founding vocalist Jesse Zaraska since their 2004 debut, "Of Malice And The Magnum Heart".

After a week of videos teasing their revival, the band has officially revealed details today for the new album, including the release date, album art, track listing and the first single, "The Tempest".

Commenting on the new track, lead guitarist Ryan Morgan states: "'The Tempest' feels like a concentrated dose of MISERY SIGNALS. I love that it crashes through with all this energy, with very little indulging. That type of songwriting economy was in my mind across this whole album. It's interesting to hear a little bit of restraint work to actually make everything bigger."

"Ultraviolet" marks the return of all founding members Ryan Morgan (guitar), Branden Morgan (drums), Jesse Zaraska (vocals), Stu Ross (guitar) and Kyle Johnson (bass). The band spent the last few years writing and recording one of its finest releases yet and a true return to form, drawing on a resuscitated storm of creativity and camaraderie not witnessed since "Of Malice And The Magnum Heart".

"Jesse has this really clear voice, and even in his most vicious screaming the vulnerability gets through first," says Morgan. "People will hear the record and there won't be any need for decoding the emotional content. 'Sunlifter' was the first song we wrote for the record and it set the tone thematically for the lyrics on the album, which came to be about ambition and striving and all the parts of ourselves that are in contradiction with each other."

Zaraska comments on the lyrical direction of the album: "It is a record that purveys a much greater sense of hope than those that preceded it, and I think that as older individuals this was important from the onset of the process. I tried to create a MISERY SIGNALS record that was lyrically more positive than the previous outings, something that I could get behind as a father. Though there still exists a fair amount of tension and darkness, there shines a great amount more light."

MISERY SIGNALS will tour North America in support of "Ultraviolet" this fall, including a headline tour with support from END and NECK OF THE WOODS and a December run with DARKEST HOUR and SECT.

"Ultraviolet" track listing:

01. The Tempest

02. Sunlifter

03. River King

04. Through Vales Of Blue Fire

05. Old Ghosts

06. The Fall

PROTEST THE HERO Releases New Single 'From The Sky'

PROTEST THE HERO has released the official music video for "From The Sky", the second single from its upcoming album "Palimpsest", which is due on June 19. The album features 10 new tracks and is the first music from the band since "Pacific Myth" in 2016.

While PROTEST THE HERO's last effort was a project designed to limit the band's "over-thinking of every detail," "Palimpsest" is surely the opposite. Each idea on the new record had to fight for its place, right down to the final sequencing of songs. Endless discussions were had over minutiae, but the devil has always been in the details for PROTEST THE HERO. So, while the songwriting, recording and release process was all new for these songs, the final product definitely feels like home to the band. But there were definitely some obstacles to overcome along the way.

Says Luke Hoskin: "'Palimpsest' is by far the most challenging record we have worked on. The writing and recording process saw so many delays, it's honestly hard to keep them straight. We are very proud of how each hurdle was handled though, and the end result is a record that we believe is deserving of such an endeavor."

"This record was extremely difficult for me personally," shares Rody Walker. "With my first child on the way, I built a studio in my basement to ensure I wasn't leaving my wife alone with a new child for weeks on end. I haven't left my house since. What made it most difficult was the change in my voice. During our final tour just before we were set to start recording, I blew my voice out, and it didn't come back. I spent a long time fighting with it trying to bounce back and failing. Finally, through coaching and rehearsal, I got it back in shape. For the first time in my life singing felt like an actual job and I'm still pissed about it. I have never worked harder to put out music in my life and I am extremely proud of the product."

PROTEST THE HERO has released five full-length albums and have toured the world over. Hailing originally from Whitby, Ontario, Canada, PROTEST THE HERO consists of four core members: Rody Walker (vocals), Luke Hoskin (lead guitar/vocals), Tim MacMillar (guitar/vocals), and Michael Ieradi (drums). Known for being progressive not only in their sound but in their music business acumen, the band launched a unique distro model when releasing their last record, "Pacific Myth", in 2016. Using a structured subscription service for fans, PROTEST THE HERO delivered one track each month over a six-month period of recording, as well as access to a gamut of original content not available anywhere else. The band has always prided themselves on approaching their craft differently than the rest of the pack exemplified in 2013 when their record label contract was up, and they set a precedent by approaching their rabid fanbase directly to help fund the recording of "Volition".

"Palimpsest" track listing:

01. The Migrant Mother

02. The Canary

03. From The Sky

04. All Hands

05. The Fireside

06. Soliloquy

07. Reverie

08. Little Snakes

09. Gardenias

10. Rivet

METALLICA's ROBERT TRUJILLO, KIRK HAMMETT Cover THE STONE ROSES' ' 'I Wanna Be Adored' In Manchester

Robert Trujillo and Kirk Hammett played a cover version of THE STONE ROSES' "I Wanna Be Adored" during METALLICA's June 18 concert at Etihad Stadium in Manchester, England. Fan-filmed video footage of the performance can be seen below.

"I Wanna Be Adored" was part of the fun and unusual feature METALLICA added to its shows on the band's recent tours: at each stop, Hammett and Trujillo have been covering songs from some of their musical heroes — often choosing songs that are far removed from the band's traditional metal sound. The "doodles," as the band refers to them in their setlists, have been showing up right before Trujillo's solo on "(Anesthesia) Pulling Teeth". The songs are pared-down interpretations — just bass and guitar and sometimes Trujillo singing in front of music stands.

In other news, METALLICA made a substantial donation to a homeless charity in Manchester ahead of the band's show in the city.

Before the sold-out performance, the quartet gifted just over $50,000 to Coffee4Craig, an organization that works to provide shelter, food and resources for the homeless. The charity's head, Hendrix Lancaster, said that the large sum will fund the six-year-old foundation's work for the next 12 months.

METALLICA's own foundation, All Within My Hands, tweeted an image of the band handing over a giant check, along with the message: "Thank you to all the fans attending #MetInManchester tonight for joining METALLICA in supporting Coffee4Craig, as they support vulnerable people in their community."

Last year, METALLICA used All Within My Hands to donate $100,000 to help the California wildfire relief efforts. The foundation made a $50,000 donation to both the North Valley Community Foundation and the Los Angeles Fire Department Foundation.

The band has also donated to food banks and other charities in many of the cities on its ongoing "WorldWired" tour itinerary.

"WorldWired" has played more than 130 shows across the world since its 2016 launch.

METALLICA is continuing to tour in support of its latest album, "Hardwired… To Self-Destruct", which debuted at No. 1 on The Billboard 200 album chart, selling 291,000 copies in its first week of release.

Last November, drummer Lars Ulrich told The Mercury News that the trek could last through early 2020.

FLESHGOD APOCALYPSE Debut "The Fool" Bass Playthrough Video

It is one of these songs that makes both musicians and audience hold their breath: Today, Italian orchestral death metallers, Fleshgod Apocalypse, release a bass playthrough for one of their most demanding songs, "The Fool", a both epic and brute masterpiece taken from the band's 2016 album, King.

The band states,"'The Fool' is one of our most popular songs and, at the same time, one of the most challenging to perform live. That's why we chose it for the second installment in our series of playthrough videos. Have fun watching it!"

CRO-MAGS Release 'From The Grave' Music Video

2019 saw the CRO-MAGS crushing the masses with the release of their first pieces of music in 19 years. Today, the legendary hardcore pioneers have released a music video for the previously released single "From The Grave", featuring former MOTÖRHEAD guitarist Phil Campbell.

"The idea for the video is that I'm rising from the grave and going on a mission... like I came back from the dead to become the Grim Reaper himself," explains CRO-MAGS founder, bassist and vocalist Harley Flanagan. "I think anybody who knows the history of this band and of my life will get it. It starts off at Woodlawn Cemetery in the Bronx, where I will be buried with my family and in-laws. In the opening shot, the grave I'm in front of is actually my mother's."

As CRO-MAGS toured with MOTÖRHEAD in 1986, Flanagan adds: "Phil is one of my favorite guitarists of all time and I still can’t believe I have him playing on one of my songs. I am so honored. The footage of Phil was shot by his son Todd Campbell at his recording studio in Wales, U.K."

"From The Grave" follows last year's clip for "No One's Victim", which was the CRO-MAGS' first music video in 27 years.

CRO-MAGS will release a new album, "In The Beginning", on June 19 via Arising Empire and Mission Two Entertainment.

CRO-MAGS' "Don't Give In" EP was released in August 2019 via Victory Records. A second three-song EP, the aforementioned "From The Grave", arrived in December.

CRO-MAGS feature Flanagan pulling double duty with bass and lead vocals, guitarists Gabby Abularach, Rocky George (SUICIDAL TENDENCIES, FISHBONE), and drummer Garry "G-Man" Sullivan.

The history of the CRO-MAGS is integral to the history of hardcore, its evolution from punk and the development of alternative music genres such as hardcore, cross-over, thrash metal, post punk and grunge, to name a few. Numerous iconic bands from METALLICA to GREEN DAY, and individuals such as Dave Grohl have credited CRO-MAGS with having had a primal influence on their development.

Born out of the violence and depravity of the Lower East Side of New York in the late '70s and early '80s, the CRO-MAGS was the brainchild of a very young Harley Flanagan (at the time 14 years old) when still playing with THE STIMULATORS. By 1982/83 he wrote and recorded the very first CRO-MAGS demos consisting of four songs that would become the blueprint for the seminal 1986 "Age Of Quarrel". He wrote all of the music, played each instrument and sang. Before long, he connected with Parris Mayhew and the two started writing music and auditioning band members.

Flanagan recently reached a settlement with singer John Joseph and drummer Mackie Jayson regarding ownership of the CRO-MAGS name. Flanagan is now performing under the name CRO-MAGS while Joseph and Jayson are performing as CRO-MAGS "JM".

Exclusive: VOICES OF RUIN Premiere “Reach Toward The Sky” Single

With the May 15 release of their M-Theory Audio debut, Path To Immortality, fast approaching, the Southern California-based melodic death metal quintet, Voices Of Ruin, have unveiled a music video for their new track "Reach Toward The Sky", premiered exclusively through BraveWords.

The band comments: “We wanted to release a song that shows how dynamic Path To Immortality really is. ‘Reach Toward The Sky’ is one of its longer songs, and it has a few different tempos and melodies while holding to some heavy riffs and blasting drums. In this world, many people are forced into a religion, and in some places incarcerated or killed for lack of or different beliefs. This song explains the fact that no god can save you from this vicious world and that all will die eventually. You can reach toward the sky to your god until there is nothing left to reach for. There are plenty of surprises left on the album that will have you listening to it on repeat. It is an adventure if you play it from start to finish, and it almost feels like an epic novel. For now, enjoy this single, and get ready for May 15!”

Pre-order the album - which was produced by former Machine Head guitarist Logan Mader (Gojira, SepticFlesh) and features cover artwork by Par Olofsson (Exodus, Immortal, Revocation) - in various formats here.

Tracklisting:

"Carved Out"
"Path To Immortality"
"Suffering Silence"

VOLBEAT Releases Animated Video For 'Leviathan'

Danish/American rockers VOLBEAT have released a new animated video for "Leviathan", the latest single off the band's seventh studio album, "Rewind, Replay, Rebound". "Leviathan" was directed and animated by Steven Mertens and is based on a painting by Karsten Sand that originally appeared in the album artwork for "Rewind, Replay, Rebound".

In "Leviathan", frontman Michael Poulsen says he's singing from the imagination of a young boy looking out of his bedroom window.

"He already has a feeling that the world can be an evil place, full of bad people," Poulsen told Billboard. "He wants as a youngster to try to clean up the whole world, but he knows that he can't do that. But he believes that he can contact Leviathan, the sea monster, and together they could clean up all the bad things."

This past March, VOLBEAT's "Die To Live" topped the Mainstream Rock Songs airplay chart. The song was the group's eighth Mainstream Rock Songs No. 1, breaking the band out of a tie with U2 for the most No. 1s by an act based outside of North America, dating to the chart's 1981 inception.

VOLBEAT's first No. 1 happened in July 2012 with "Still Counting".

"Rewind, Replay, Rebound" was released last August via Republic Records. The disc was produced by longtime collaborator Jacob Hansen and co-produced by VOLBEAT's Rob Caggiano and Michael Poulsen. This marks the first studio album with Kaspar Boye Larsen on bass. To achieve the album's sound, the band also drew upon a myriad of guests. In addition to again working with backing vocalist Mia Maja on several tracks, they also reunited with the Harlem Gospel Choir. CLUTCH vocalist Neil Fallon is featured on "Die To Live", the result of touring together and a love for the singer's gruff and powerful style. Raynier Jacob Jacildo (piano) and Doug Corocran (saxophone) of JD McPherson's band also lend their talents to the song. "Cheapside Sloggers" features a ripping guitar solo by EXODUS and SLAYER guitarist Gary Holt.

Watch NICKELBACK Perform Quarantine Version Of 'How You Remind Me'

NICKELBACK frontman Chad Kroeger and guitarist Ryan Peake recently performed "How You Remind Me" in socially distanced fashion for a live video which has now been uploaded to the band's YouTube channel. You can check it out below.

Asked by SOCAN how he wrote something as "crazy catchy" as "How You Remind Me", Kroeger said: "Get lucky. Stars align. That song is such a monster. It's taken on its own entity — it really has — and I'm just lucky to be associated with it.

"People say all the time, they're always asking me, 'Do you get sick of playing the hits?' or whatever," he continued. "And I always say, when I play the first note and everybody starts singing along at the top of their lungs… How could you be…? No. Not even close. It's the most wonderful thing. I wrote a song that everybody wants to sing along to, and it's just amazing, and I'm so grateful. I'm grateful to the song, and I speak of it as that — it's an entity. And it's done so many wonderful things for me. Not having to eat Kraft Dinner for the rest of my life — unless you choose to, which I often do — is amazing."

As previously reported, NICKELBACK drummer Daniel Adair is recovering from recent surgery for radial tunnel syndrome, a condition in which the radial nerve is pinched when passing through a tunnel near the elbow.

Adair revealed the news about the surgery on Friday (May 8), writing: "Over the past several years I have been experiencing increased difficulty with control in my right hand on the drums. After seeing many teachers/specialists and physicians, one of them finally diagnosed the cause."

He added: "Luckily I got minor surgery right before the Covid outbreak happened. They just cut some muscle away and let the nerve breath again. I've healed fine and am basically learning how to use my right hand! It's very exciting though, it's amazing what one nerve can change. So, personally it's a great time for me to be in isolation and get my chops together."

Peake said last month that a documentary on NICKELBACK — which has been in the works for at least a couple of years — is "very close to being released."

Before the pandemic hit, NICKELBACK was supposed to hit the road this summer to celebrate the 15th anniversary of the "All The Right Reasons" album.

GUNS N' ROSES Takes Jab At DONALD TRUMP With 'Live N' Let Die With COVID 45' Shirt

GUNS N' ROSES has begun selling a new t-shirt that appears to take a jab at U.S. President Donald Trump.

Earlier in the month, Trump visited a manufacturing plant without wearing a face mask as GUNS N' ROSES' rendition of "Live And Let Die" played on loudspeakers during his visit. Video footage of Trump's visit went viral because he and his entourage were at a Honeywell factory in Phoenix to witness the production of anti-COVID-19 N95 masks, with the soundtrack also reportedly consisting of the likes of SURVIVOR's "Eye Of The Tiger" and ANIMALS' "House Of The Rising Sun".

In response to the Internet hoopla, GUNS N' ROSES has just released a shirt features the slogan "Live N' Let Die With COVID 45", apparently referencing the fact that Trump is the 45th president of the United States.

The shirt is priced at $25 and available for order in sizes small through double XL. Look for the shirt to ship on June 10.

"Live And Let Die" was originally written by Sir Paul McCartney for the 1973 James Bond film of the same name, and performed by WINGS. The song was covered by GUNS N' ROSES on their 1991 album "Use Your Illusion I", and it has since become a staple of the group's live set.

GUNS N' ROSES singer Axl Rose has frequently spoken out against the Trump administration, most recently taking a shot at U.S. Treasury Secretary Steve Mnuchin. The politician then returned fire asking Rose what he'd done for the country lately, but mistakenly inserting an emoji of the Liberian flag instead of the U.S. flag.

The exchange caught the eyes of "Saturday Night Live" and "Last Week Tonight With John Oliver", who both poked fun at the battle.

Rose has been an outspoken critic of the Trump administration on social media, and also recently criticized a decision by the sheriff of Orange County, California to not enforce beach closures that were mandated by the state's governor.

They blasted “Live and Let Die” while Trump walked around a Honeywell plant today in Arizona without a mask. It’s hard to believe this clip is real. pic.twitter.com/M1dMe8KaMK

EXTREME, DREAM THEATER, ALICE COOPER Members Featured On Cover Of 'Let It Be' To Benefit MusiCares Relief Fund

With the support of the MusiCares Foundation, the team behind "Soundcheck Live" is bringing together 68 of the brightest stars in the music world to deliver a stirring performance of "Let It Be" for a good cause. The performance will feature Avril Lavigne, Nuno Bettencourt, Orianthi, Phil X, Gary Cherone and Doug "Dug" Pinnick, as well as a long list of brilliant musicians, vocalists, and engineers who have performed and worked alongside the likes of Lady Gaga, Aretha Franklin, Ariana Grande, and many more.

With the song and video (available on May 12 on all digital streaming services and "Soundcheck Live"'s YouTube page), the musicians, vocalists, and engineers involved hope to raise money for music industry professionals impacted by the coronavirus pandemic, as well as offer up inspiration at a time when the world needs it most.

Founded in 2016 by Avril Lavigne's musical director Steve Ferlazzo, "Soundcheck Live" is a monthly all-star jam featuring national/international recording artists, touring sideman and local L.A. entertainers. Founded for musicians and music lovers alike, the concept kicked off as a way for well-known performers and up-and-coming stars to showcase their skills and network with other artists.

When the COVID-19 pandemic shuttered all live music venues in California, including "Soundcheck Live"'s home venue, Lucky Strike Live in Hollywood, California, Ferlazzo wanted to bring together these artists to be a part of something larger than themselves and give back to the community. He sought out the MusicCares Foundation for the benefit, as they had set up a relief fund specifically for musicians, engineers, producers, stagehands, and other industry professionals experiencing financial hardship.

"We chose 'Let It Be' as a song of hope in uncertain times," Ferlazzo said. "I like to think of this project as an entire three-hour 'Soundcheck Live' show condensed into one five-minute song that will offer people some inspiration and help when they need it most."

Fundraising efforts for donations as well as auction items by some of the more notable performers will be hosted through www.charitystars.com.

ASKING ALEXANDRIA's DANNY WORSNOP Covers AMY WINEHOUSE's 'Back To Black'

ASKING ALEXANDRIA frontman Danny Worsnop has released his version of Amy Winehouse's "Back To Black" as part of a new series of covers that he has recorded from isolation.

Danny commented: "I wanted to take some time to pay homage to some of the songs and artists that I love and who inspire me, and Amy Winehouse does so in spades. The soul and transparency in her music was always something I was drawn to, and it was a wonderful day spent in her shoes remaking and reimagining one of her greatest works with my own twist.

"Amy, you were a true artist in the purest sense of the word. We were touched by your passion and your uniqueness. Your music forever hold a place in our hearts."

Earlier in the year, Danny released a couple of solo tracks, "Happy" and "Another You".

In a 2019 interview with Rock Sound, Worsnop said that ASKING ALEXANDRIA fans haven't exactly embraced the music he makes as a solo artist.

"No one starts making music so they can be put into a box," he said.

"A lot of people have this shitty elitist view about musicians where they feel like, 'This is the thing that I enjoy about what they do, so this is the only thing they should do.' If you do anything else, it's betraying and besmirching that thing that they like.

"A lot of ASKING ALEXANDRIA fans get really shitty when I do anything that isn't the version of me that they like, so people are either going to understand me a little bit more and take a walk through my journey, or they're not. That's just the way it is."

Danny's latest solo album, "Shades Of Blue", came out last year to critical acclaim.

The latest concert to be shared was recorded on June 10, 2012 at Pannonia Fields II in Nickelsdorf, Austria and it celebrated the 20th anniversary of METALLICA's self-titled 1991 album (also known as "the Black Album").

The band said in a statement, "While we're all doing our part and staying home, we find ourselves missing live music, so how about we dive back into a few of our favorite shows at a socially responsible distance?"

METALLICA has been largely out of the public eye since last fall when the band canceled an Australian tour and announced that frontman James Hetfield was returning to rehab for the first time since 2002 to battle his addictions.

Hetfield made his first major public appearance since entering rehab on January 30, when an exhibit featuring 10 of his classic custom cars opened at the Petersen Automotive Museum in Los Angeles.

In March, METALLICA announced that its South American tour, which was originally planned for April, has been postponed until December. In addition, the band's appearances at four Danny Wimmer Presents-produced festivals in May and September have been canceled: Epicenter in Charlotte, Welcome To Rockville in Daytona, Sonic Temple in Columbus and Louder Than Life in Louisville..

Guitarist Kirk Hammett told The Pulse Of Radio not long ago that METALLICA has to be in better than average shape to play its music live. "There's a physicality to our music that we cannot ignore, so we just kind of have to keep ourselves in a certain sort of physical sort of state where that we can't let ourselves get to a point where we can't play these songs," he said. "That's just not allowed. When we write this music, we have to make sure that we can play it and play it when we need to play it."

JEFF BECK And JOHNNY DEPP Release Official Music Video For Their Cover of JOHN LENNON's 'Isolation'

Legendary guitarist and two-time Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame inductee Jeff Beck, one of the great collaborators in music history, has once again found an unexpected co-conspirator in Johnny Depp. The musical soulmates have been working behind-the-scenes for the past few several years on new music and recently released their first single as a duo, a re-imagining of John Lennon's classic track "Isolation". The official music video for the song, which is available on all streaming and digital download services from Atco/Rhino Records, can be seen below.

"Isolation" finds Beck in classic form on guitar with Depp on vocals, joined by longtime Beck collaborators Vinnie Colaiuta on drums and Rhonda Smith on bass. The band first performed the track live at Eric Clapton's Crossroads Guitar Festival last September in Texas.

"Johnny and I have been working on music together for a while now and we recorded this track during our time in the studio last year," Jeff says. "We weren't expecting to release it so soon but given all the hard days and true 'isolation' that people are going through in these challenging times, we decided now might be the right time to let you all hear it. You'll be hearing more from Johnny and me in a little while but until then we hope you find some comfort and solidarity in our take on this Lennon classic."

Depp adds: "Jeff Beck and I recorded this song 'Isolation' last year, as our take on a beautiful John Lennon tune. Lennon's poetry — 'We're afraid of everyone. Afraid of the Sun!' — seemed to Jeff and me especially profound right now, this song about isolation, fear, and existential risks to our world. So we wanted to give it to you, and hope it helps you make sense of the moment or just helps you pass the time as we endure isolation together."

Beck is universally acknowledged as one of the most talented and significant guitarists in the world and has played alongside some of the greatest artists of rock, blues, and jazz. Over the course of his distinguished 50-plus-year music career, he has earned an incredible eight Grammy Awards, been ranked by Rolling Stone as one of the "100 Greatest Guitarists of All Time," and been inducted into the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame twice — once as a member of THE YARDBIRDS and again as a solo artist. In the summer of 2016, the guitar virtuoso celebrated his five decades of music with an extraordinary concert at the famous Hollywood Bowl.

Depp has amassed quite the musical resume of his own, playing in the HOLLYWOOD VAMPIRES supergroup with Alice Cooper and Joe Perry for the last five years. He's also collaborated with a wide variety of musical artists over the last several decades from OASIS to MARILYN MANSON to STONE TEMPLE PILOTS, just to name a few.

Watch Ex-FIVE FINGER DEATH PUNCH Drummer JEREMY SPENCER Perform 'Let The Sin Begin' With New Band PSYCHOSEXUAL

PSYCHOSEXUAL, the new rock band fronted by former FIVE FINGER DEATH PUNCH drummer Jeremy Spencer, played live for the first time on May 9 at Copa Room in Las Vegas, Nevada. Joining Spencer's alter-ego, Devil Daddy, in the group are guitarist Crucifier, bassist Astaroth and drummer Volac.

PSYCHOSEXUAL plays a unique brand of gothic metal and industrial-edge music that has been described in a press release as "a character-driven, visually arresting tour de force guaranteed to spark controversy."

Video footage of PSYCHOSEXUAL's performance of its debut single, "Let The Sin Begin" — shot by Michael Su — can be seen below. The song is taken from the band's debut album, "Torch The Faith", which will be released this fall through Spencer's own independent label 6ex Records. The effort was co-produced by Spencer with DROWNING POOL producer Shawn McGhee.

Late last month, PSYCHOSEXUAL released the official music video for "Let The Sin Begin", featuring the eye-popping gifts of performers Masuimi Max, Madison Morgan, Janey Doe and Idelsy Love.

Spencer left FIVE FINGER DEATH PUNCH at the end of 2018, but in his mind the persona of Devil Daddy had occupied part of his creative consciousness for several years. Never one to rest on his laurels creatively, he released a series of '80s-like new wave originals in early 2019 as a precursor to the band — including some arresting and entertaining videos such as a remake of TYPE O NEGATIVE's "Love You To Death".

Spencer said: "I've been such a fan of so many types of music from Bowie to DEVO to black metal bands, PSYCHOSEXUAL really is the outlet I've needed to bring all these things together in one big Evil Stew."

A tour to support the release of PSYCHOSEXUAL's new album is planned for late fall/early winter.

Spencer, who co-founded FIVE FINGER DEATH PUNCH with guitarist Zoltan Bathory, underwent back surgery in the fall of 2018 that required a significant recovery period. Asked in a new interview with Music Mayhem Magazine for an update on his condition, Jeremy said: "I had degenerative discs in my back from years of physical drumming forcing me to get disc replacement surgery and fusion. That surgery was a setback and really took a toll on me mentally as well as physically. I'm so much better now. A year has gone by and I'm back to working out with a trainer and can actually be mobile again, which is something we all take for granted."

Spencer's replacement in FIVE FINGER DEATH PUNCH is Charlie "The Engine" Engen. Engen made his recording debut with the band on the "F8" album, which came out in February.

KILLSWITCH ENGAGE Releases Performance Video Of Quarantine Version Of 'We Carry On'

KILLSWITCH ENGAGE has released a live performance video of an acoustic version of the song "We Carry On". The track was recorded while the members were in quarantine. The original appears on the band's 2016-released album "Incarnate".

As guitarist Adam Dutkiewicz says in the intro of the video, the band had planned to perform this song during the now-postponed spring 2020 "Atonement" tour, featuring AUGUST BURNS RED and LIGHT THE TORCH. The tour was paused after only a few shows in March due to the COVID-19 shutdown. The rescheduled dates will be announced soon.

"This song is a deep one for me," explains singer Jesse Leach. "When I wrote the lyrics, it was originally based off of struggles in a tumultuous, abusive relationship. Little did I know how significant it would eventually be as it has relevance during this strange time of quarantine and uncertainty. For me, it has turned into an anthem, of sorts, about perseverance. While working on this version, it really struck me how much I felt the lyrics in a different light. As dark and difficult as things can get, we all have this inner power to persevere and pull through. I feel that the desperation and the melancholy of this song are balanced by a ray of hope that runs through it all."

The band has also created KILLSWITCH ENGAGE-branded face masks for fans, which are available on the group's webstore. All profits from sales of these face masks will be donated to NIVA (National Independent Venue Association). The organization is working to help preserve independent venues across the country that are struggling during the COVID-19 crisis.

"We decided that it's a good opportunity to bring some awareness and support to an important non-profit organization called NIVA," Leach explains. "All of us started out in small 'mom and pop' venues and it would be an absolute shame to see some of these venues go away due to this crisis. I still frequent small clubs when I am home to see shows and stay in touch with the local scenes. Independent venues are the backbone of creativity, art, and music."

He finishes: "When this is all said and done, I am certain people will be clamoring to see live music. I know I will! So where would we be if these venues go belly up due to lack of support and funding?!"

Earlier this month, KILLSWITCH ENGAGE dropped "Atonement II B-Sides For Charity", with 100% of the proceeds donated to the COVID-19 Relief Fund for the Center for Disaster Philanthropy. The B-sides have raised over $40,000 for the cause thus far. The release features six songs from the recording sessions for KILLSWITCH ENGAGE's 2019-released and Grammy-nominated album "Atonement", out now via Metal Blade Records.

MEGADETH's DIRK VERBEUREN: 'The Conjuring' Drum Playthrough Video

MEGADETH drummer Dirk Verbeuren's drum playthrough video of the song "The Conjuring", which originally appeared on the band's 1986 album "Peace Sells... But Who's Buying?", can be seen below.

MEGADETH played "The Conjuring" live for the first time since 2001 in June 2018 at the Home Monitoring Aréna in Plzeň, Czech Republic, where the band was the support act for JUDAS PRIEST.

Mustaine said in a 2016 interview that he was reconsidering his decision to never play "The Conjuring" again, explaining that he wouldn't mind reintroducing the track at MEGADETH's live shows "as long as it doesn't hurt anybody."

Mustaine wrote in his autobiography, "Mustaine: A Heavy Metal Memoir", that he practiced black magic as a teenager, and that the experience — which inspired "The Conjuring" — affected his life for years after.

Speaking to "The Morning Blaze With Gus & Izzy" show on the Fresno radio station 105.1 The Blaze, Mustaine was asked about his refusal to play "The Conjuring" at MEGADETH's concerts. He said: "I used to do black magic when I was a kid, and I put a hex on a dude and his leg kind of got messed up. The other one was I put a sex hex on this girl and the next night she was in my bed, so I think that it worked."

He continued: "But the funny thing [is] Chis Adler [LAMB OF GOD drummer, who played on 2016's 'Dystopia' album] just said, 'Hey, dude, can we re-record 'The Conjuring' with different lyrics?' And I was, like, 'Nah. You know what? Maybe I should re-think this whole thing.' Because when I first did the whole, 'You know what? I'm not gonna be a heathen anymore. I'm gonna clean up my life' thing, I kind of put some brakes on things I would and wouldn't do. And as I grow, I evolve in my outlook and my personal journey here, being a positive person and being a positive influence on other people's lives. So as long as it doesn't hurt anybody, I wouldn't mind doing the song again, 'cause it is a good song."

Mustaine previously spoke about his reluctance to perform "The Conjuring" during a 2011 interview with U.K.'s Total Guitar magazine. He stated at the time: "Performance-wise, 'The Conjuring' is one of the heaviest songs on ['Peace Sells… But Who's Buying?'], but, unfortunately, it's got black magic in it and I promised that I wouldn't play it anymore, because there's a lot of instructions for hexes in that song. Although it seems kinda corny, anybody who's a Wiccan or a warlock or anything like that will know that all of that stuff is instrumental."

He continued: "When I got into black magic I put a couple of spells on people when I was a teenager and it haunted me forever, and I've had so much torment. People say, 'Goddamn, Dave never gets a break, he's had such a hard life,' and I just think, 'No, Dave didn't — he got into black magic and it ruined his life.' It wasn't that I was a bad guy or that I had a big mouth, it was that I got into witchcraft and black magic and it ruined my life. Fortunately for me, with all the work and the love of my friends, and not giving up with my guitar playing, I got over it. So I look back now and I think, "Hmm, I don't wanna play 'The Conjuring'."

Mustaine went on to say: "When I first got saved, I was really scared and I was basically holding on to anything that I heard in church or whatever, but as I've grown I've learned a lot and lightened up a lot, and I see people around me doing certain things and instead of me saying, 'Man, you shouldn't do that!' I think quietly to myself, 'Dude, you don't know what you're doing…' It's a huge growth process."
