PAPA ROACH has released a surprise music video for "None Of The Above", a song from the band's latest album, "Crooked Teeth". The clip, which was shot on location at Beaufort Castle in Luxembourg while the band was on tour in Europe, features the DanceXperience ballet troupe. It was directed by Bryson Roatch and choreographed by esteemed urban dance choreographer Alex Lopes.
"We actually wrote 'None Of The Above' near the end of recording 'Crooked Teeth'," says bassist Tobin Esperance. "We were going for a classic rock-sounding anthem, juxtaposed with current, contemporary, sounds and taking a rock anthem to a younger generation. Bryson had this great idea of going to a castle while we were on our European tour and then he made us even more excited by telling us that he could get this song choreographed and he delivered on all counts."
"We wanted to create something you would not normally see from a rock band," says Roatch. "It was amazing and such an honor to work with other artists from a different culture and see their passion."
Over the last 16 months, PAPA ROACH has taken the "Crooked Teeth" experience global — touring extensively throughout Europe, Australia, North America and South America. The band just wrapped up a successful run with A DAY TO REMEMBER on the "15 Years In The Making Tour" where they played to 100,000 fans over the course of 18 shows. PAPA ROACH is ready to bring even more of their headlining might to intimate venues in North America in April and May, featuring support from NOTHING MORE and ESCAPE THE FATE.
"Crooked Teeth" was released in May 2017 via Eleven Seven Music. The disc was written and recorded in a cramped North Hollywood studio with producers Nicholas "RAS" Furlong and Colin Brittain, with the exception of "Born For Greatness", which saw the band collaborate with writer/producer Jason Evigan (Jason Derulo, Demi Lovato, Zedd, MAROON 5).
Norwegian black/thrash metal outfit THE KONSORTIUM, feat. bassist Teloch (MAYHEM, ORCUSTUS, GORGOROTH, 1349) and drummer Dirge Rep (ORCUSTUS, ENSLAVED, AURA NOIR), has released the music video for the track "Arv". It's the first song to be revealed from the band's upcoming album, "Rogaland", due out on June 1 in Europe and June 8 in North America via Agonia Records. The clip was filmed by Stein Erik Aulie of Cicknave Media.
Named after a county in Western Norway, "Rogaland" sees the band taking a different turn from its self-titled predecessor and critically acclaimed 2008 demo combined, following a more complex and technical trajectory. The band has taken the utmost care in every detail to channel and bring forth the forces of their album's namesake, with vocals recorded and lyrics written on site in the woods, in the mountains and on the Northern shores. Nature-inspired and folk-tinged, it's the kind of album that rewards each new listen, and progressively reveals its secrets.
"This album has been a long time coming," founder and mastermind Fredrik G. Fugelli explains. "The process has been tedious and time-consuming, but in the end it has definitely been worth it. Everything clicked and fell into place; from vision to finished product, each and everyone involved has delivered their best. I feel confident that we've managed to define and refine the material in such a way that we ended up capturing the essence of what the album tries to convey: the timeless battle and coexistence between man and nature; the old magic and the bond that is lost in a modern and controlled world, void of spirituality. Not only does THE KONSORTIUM return with new music, but they return in style too. Unmasked, the Norwegians finally shed light on their identity — we have the aforementioned F.G. Together, they journey through the wild and untamed, the harsh darkness and the bewitching cold that is "Rogaland".

"With our upcoming release, we double your bass player with Steven McDonald and Jeff Pinkus holding down the bottom," explains Crover. "It's an experiment in the low end of the aural spectrum where we asked ourselves, 'Would it work?' 'Could it work??' 'Should it work???' The answers were yes, yes and YES!"
"We've never had two bass players," adds Buzz Osborne. "We've had two drummers and two guitar players, so it makes total sense to now have two bass players. We'll be taking this two-prong bass attack on the road as well which should prove to be interesting.
"'Pinkus Abortion Technician' is a radically great record and was a stone groove to record. We drank a lot of coffee and enjoyed each other's company.
"I like Steven and Jeff a great deal. I admire their bass playing and singing and both of them can grill a mean steak."
MELVINS' 10-week North American tour will kick off on April 26 at the Casbah in San Diego. The trek will feature the MELVINS as a four-piece, with both Pinkus and McDonald joining Osborne and Crover.
American power trio PRONG has released the official music video for the song "Forced Into Tolerance". The track is taken from the band's latest album, "Zero Days", which was released last July via Steamhammer/SPV. The disc was once again produced by PRONG mainman Tommy Victor, with trusted collaborator Chris Collier as co-producer and engineer.
"PRONG is happy to team with Blabbermouth to premiere the video for 'Forced Into Tolerance' from our latest album, 'Zero Days'," Victor said in a statement. Victor told AXS about the follow-up to 2016's "X - No Absolutes": "I think the vocals have gotten better and better and that's indicative on the new record. I spent a lot more time on the lyrics. They had to be to be perfect on this one. That's really where I've been moving with the PRONG experience. That's become the centerpiece of my interest — the lyrics and the vocals. Finding riffs is very difficult. That is probably the less enjoyable aspect of making the record, because everything's been done already. These guitar players and kids today are so amazing and outstanding, it's like, how do you compete with that? So finding that is difficult. I think we did a good job, but the pressure to write really good songs every record is of more strategic importance here, because I think that where veterans can somehow stand alone because you know how to write songs. You've done it in the past. The kids might be able to destroy you on their instruments these days, but to write a good ol' rock and roll song, that's something we may be able to do better than them. That's what we have to focus on."

“Filming the point-of-view aspect from a tank made this video so much better,” states Matrise. “Instead of performing with instruments, we came up with the idea of each Jungle Rot soldier inside their own tank - mercilessly fighting and communicating to each other back and forth like killing machines. The lyrics are actually about a rolling death machine and she’s called ‘The Unstoppable,’ the bloodiest, most bad-ass beast you’ve ever seen! Doing the camo face paint is something that I wanted to do for a while and it really captured the whole feel we were going for. Prepare for a total alpha-strike, war-gore cloud of fear with a stop-at-nothing attitude in the thick of battle!”
On the reissued album Matrise points out, “When we first released What Horrors Await in 2009, it was a one-time deal with a limited run. CD’s never made it to the US and were sold only in Europe where the previous label was based. What Horrors Await has always been Jungle Rot’s most sought-after album with fans often paying ridiculous amounts of money for it on eBay. It’s really been a rare and collectible album. We’re so glad it's now out on our home label Victory Records, it will give everybody a chance to finally hear this monstrous release.”

Green Druid, the new gods of crushing psychedelic doom, have released a visualizer for "Ritual Sacrifice", featured on their debut album, Ashen Blood, out now Watch the clip below.

"While our first EP - and foray into the world of doom - could be viewed as us learning the ins and outs of the genre, Ashen Blood is where we really started to hone in on our own voice," comments guitarist Graham Zander. "Taking influence from the dark fantasy landscapes of games like Dark Souls and Bloodborne, we strove to create a truly doomed psychedelic experience."

Finnish metal band Bloody Falls is set to release their debut album Thanatos on April 27th via Inverse Records. The band also unleashed a music video for the track “My Halo Of Flame”.
The band was formed at summer 2017 by a group of crazy individuals that had one thing in common, play music and share the heavy metal madness with others. The band is influenced from a variety (as usual) of heavy metal bands. Take all this knowledge, variety, different cultures and add a personal touch of creativity to get this result. The bands place of origin comes from Valkeakoski, Finland, with a little twist. Tanawat comes from the tropical jungles of Thailand and Stavros from the salty, garlicky Rhodes, Greece. The song creation mostly comes from Stavros, but reaches the audiences ears after a long surgical procedure of dismembering and being put back together countless times from the entire band. Then just add the spark and it's alive and ready to go out. Kinda like Frankenstein's monster without the ugly part.
"We like to think that our music style is unique, fresh and brings something different to the genre. With the debut album, Thanatos (2018), we are going to enter the music industry with a (head)bang."

To wrap up the 18-month long tour and promotional campaign for The Ghost Parade album, Gabriel and the Apocalypse release a music video for "Behind The Sun." The video closes the chapter on this highly acclaimed and commercially successful album, as the band plans on entering the studio to record a brand new studio album for 2019 in the near future. To also celebrate the end of the album cycle, the band will hit the road with Mushroomhead in late April.
The audience is used to seeing Gabriel and the Apocalypse operate on level 10. Their high-energy stage show electrifies audiences, as do their edgy, thought-provoking music videos, like "Beauty Under Glass" and "Thrill of the Kill." The new video "Behind the Sun" is a complete 180 from what we are used to seeing from the band. The video showcases the other side of the group and proves they aren't a one-trick pony by any means. Using a cold and snow covered setting, the band takes on a somber side and direction to give the audience an amazing journey.
"Behind the Sun" represents the closing of a chapter to The Ghost Parade, not only for the record but on a personal level. "I opened myself up so much for that record," says vocalist Lindy Gabriel. "I was in such a raw emotional state and, through it all, I believe I became a stronger person with a thicker skin. My mind is a clean slate now and I am ready and excited to dive into the new record."

Dutch destroyers Death Alley have launched a video for their latest single “Headlights In The Dark” today. The song is taken off their new album Superbia which was released last Friday through Century Media Records.
The band comments, “How would you feel, if you saw the danger coming right at you, bright as headlights in the dark, but you’re the only one seeing it...?”
Video director David Fitt explains, “For the very first time in my work I feel like I’ve taken a stance regarding a very actual subject. When Death Alley told me that their song was about little made-up truths you convince yourself of, I created this character so obsessed with himself he started building his own delusional reality. Almost instantly this story of a man became linked with men’s behavior towards women, and how they convince themselves of their own self-righteousness. This story is definitely some kind of Weinstein aftermath in which I attempted to inject a bit of joy & humor; because oh boy do we need a laugh these times.”
Legendary Greek black metallers Varathron have launched a music video for the track "Into The Absurd", taken from the band's forthcoming studio album Patriarchs Of Evil, due out on April 27th via Agonia Records. Preorders can be found at Agonia Records.
Co-founded in 1988 by Stefan Necroabyssious, the band's vocalist and sole original member, Varathron has been on a steady release schedule since 2004's Crowreign. The latter album introduced Haris (drums) and Achilleas C. (guitars) to the band, who were later joined by Sotiris (guitars) and Stratos (bass), and who together established a new, well-bonded line-up of an already established Hellenic black metal act, considered as one of the forefathers of the genre, next to Rotting Christ and Necromantia.
Having previously described Patriarchs Of Evil as "heavy, dark and full of melodies that will revive past memories", Varathron elaborates on the successor to Untrodden Corridors Of Hades (2014), now that the recordings have come to an end:

Who Brought The Dog, the solo project launched by The New Black guitarist Fabian "Fabs" Schwarz featuring BraveWords scribe Carl Begai and The New Black drummer Philipp Klinger, have issued the following update:

Who Brought The Dog have released two songs for free via Bandcamp. "I'm With The Banned" is an anti-bullying, anti-racism, anti-sexism, anti-Trump rant, "Three Days" is a cancer survivor song, lyrics written by Carl and Canadian rocker Bif Naked.

Spanish thrash metallers Angelus Apatrida return to the spotlight with a new studio album entitled Cabaret de la Guillotine, set for worldwide release via Century Media Records on May 4th. A video for the track "Downfall Of The Nation" can be found below.
Following up 2015’s Hidden Evolution, which entered the charts in Spain on # 2, this sixth studio album showcases the wide heavy metal range of Angelus Apatrida, from neck-breaking thrash, to truly melodic and yet powerful metal, acting as the group’s most diverse effort to date.

Victoriaville, Quebec's Obliterate have released a music video for the title track off of their crushing new album Impending Death. This pulverizing video shows exactly why the group's highly anticipated Unique Leader debut, which has a May 18th street date, will establish the group as one of the most aggressive and exciting bands in the current deathcore scene.
The group collectively said of the video, "For this video we decided to make things differently from our previous ones. We went to an abandoned asylum, where nine patients perished in flames in 1988, to shoot a storyline. In the clip you can see a woman using different methods to kill us. We tried to demonstrate that no matter how things or people may look, death is inevitable and you'll have to face it one day or another."

Long running Swedish metallers Sparzanza have released the video for their latest single, "Whatever Come May Be." The track comes off of their eighth studio album, Announcing The End on Despotz Records.

Santa Cruz, one of Finland's most raucous gangs of youth gone wild, have returned to America. The quartet kicked off their first U.S. tour in support of their acclaimed new album Bad Blood Rising last week in Houston, when they performed the first of two dozen shows alongside Fozzy, Through Fire and Dark Sky Choir. The tour continues today (March 7th) in Tucson, Arizona before hitting the famed Whisky A Go-Go in Hollywood this weekend. From there, the groups will head toward the Pacific Northwest before Santa Cruz plays a handful of headline dates prior to the tour's second leg, which begins in Milwaukee on March 27th.
To celebrate their triumphant return to the States, Santa Cruz has unveiled a lyric video for their new single, “Fire Running Through Our Veins.” The track is impacting active rock radio now, so fans who want to hear the Helsinki hellraisers on the airwaves in their home markets are welcome to call their local stations and request the track. The lyric video – edited by Rafael Ortega (Blackfinger, Ayreon, Sicosis) – can be seen below:
