"Less Than A Human", the new video from POWERFLO — the band featuring BIOHAZARD's Billy Graziadei and former FEAR FACTORY bassist/guitarist Christian Olde Wolbers alongside Sen Dog from CYPRESS HILL, Rogelio Lozano from DOWNSET, and Brazilian drummer Fernando Schaefer — can be seen below. The song is taken from POWERFLO's self-titled debut album, which was released on June 23 via New Damage Records.
Directed by Graziadei, the "Less Than A Human" clip captures live footage from POWERFLO's recent treks with P.O.D., ALIEN ANT FARM, FIRE FROM THE GODS, BRUJERIA and more. Billy commented: "We made a lot of friends around the country during these past tours. We filmed this video on the road to showcase what we do best… kicking ass and taking names!"
Melding hip-hop, metal, punk, and rock into a potent offering, POWERFLO draws on its powerhouse resume to collectively smash boundaries. The album is produced by Josh Lynch and Billy Graziadei, mixed by Jay Baumgardner (GODSMACK, PAPA ROACH, HELMET) and mastered by Maor Applebaum (FAITH NO MORE, HALFORD, ADRENALINE MOB) at Maor Applebaum Mastering.
The origins of POWERFLO can be traced back over more than two decades as the members of the band would collaborate on numerous occasions. In addition to both CYPRESS HILL and BIOHAZARD appearing on the landmark platinum-selling "Judgment Night" soundtrack, Sen Dog delivered a cameo on BIOHAZARD's "State Of The World Address" in 1993, while Christian both guested on CYPRESS HILL's chart-topping 2000 double-album "Skulls & Bones", which Roy also guested on, and 2001's "Stone Raiders" in addition to performing with the group countless times. In 2015, longtime friend Roy played demos for Sen on a ride to the airport. The music immediately spoke to the rapper and thus POWERFLO was born.
"Wars To Walk Away From", the new video from Alaska's 36 CRAZYFISTS, can be seen below. The track is taken from the band's latest album, "Lanterns", which was released on September 29 through Spinefarm Records. It is their second release for the label and the follow-up to 2015's "Time And Trauma".
About the video, singer Brock Lindow said: "We had a blast doing our new video for 'Wars To Walk Away From' in the early hours of a nice, brisk fall morning in Virginia with director Justin Reich and his killer crew. We captured the live sense of the band as we ripped through a song about the journey of leaving what's behind you as far as you can and envisioning what's in front of you with Northern eyes..."
Lindow told AXS about the "Lanterns" album title: "The title came about through the vision I had of a man walking towards the vast mountains right south of where I live in Anchorage. Walking towards this vast landscape towards these massive mountains with hope in his heart. That lantern in his hand being symbolic of that hope, and that sense of a light source after coming through a very dark time of my life."
Regarding his band's musical evolution on "Lanterns", Lindow said: "Well it's just the next chapter of the band, another album of life being lived. Lessons learned and experience throughout. Hopefully we have grown as musicians since '94, and we have a better idea after each album on who we are, our signature sound and what sets us apart from other bands."
"Fault Line", the new video from former PANTERA bassist Rex Brown, can be seen below. The track is taken from Rex's debut solo album, "Smoke On This", which was released on July 28 via Entertainment One (eOne). The disc marks the first time in Brown's career in which he serves as both lead vocalist and guitarist in a band.
Rex worked on "Smoke On This" with his primary collaborator and old friend Lance Harvill, a Nashville-based guitarist and songwriter. "Lance was and is my main man on this," Brown said. "Everything we did was finely tuned, both musically and brotherly."
Drums were tracked by Christopher Williams, himself no stranger to diverse tastes, from funk music to punk. His talent has been utilized by country music star Lee Greenwood, the reconstituted BLACKFOOT and most recently, power metal legends ACCEPT. The album was produced by New Yorker-turned-Nashville-transplant Caleb Sherman, a multi-instrumentalist with work on records by LITTLE BIG TOWN and PORTER BLOCK, among others. "Caleb produced the project from a musician's standpoint," added Brown. "Not just a typical producer's standpoint, which was something I definitely needed. Between Caleb and Lance, we were a force to be reckoned with. They really pulled out the best in me." Peter Keyes, known for his work with LYNYRD SKYNYRD, can also be heard on a few tracks. All bass tracking came from Rex himself as well.
Brown's solo debut strips away any boundaries and preconceived notions, reveling in a newfound freedom to express all of the various shades of the man whose name is out front. The song "Fault Line" helped him find his voice. "That was the very first one I sang," Brown said. "After I got that one, I knew that I could do it, and Lance was my biggest motivator in finding that voice. Up until that point, I just wasn't sure."
After leaving DOWN in 2011, Rex went on play with KILL DEVIL HILL, which has released two albums so far: "Kill Devil Hill" (2012) and "Revolution Rise" (2013).

The record serves as King Witch's follow-up to their debut EP, Shoulders Of Giants, and boasts nine riff-laden tracks offset by the powerful yet bewitching vocals of Donnelly. Influenced by everything from Black Sabbath and Led Zeppelin to Mastodon and High On Fire, Under The Mountain is as melodic as it is monolithic, taking its listener on a journey from soulful doom to full-tilt metal mayhem.
Formed in early 2015 in a dark cavern beneath the streets of old Edinburgh, King Witch manifests a potent and heavy brew of old school metal and the meatiest of '70s classic rock. Hollywood rockers, Society 1, returned with their new album Rise From The Dead in 2017 on DSN Music. The eighth video off of the album, for the track "Souls On Fire" is available for streaming below.
Matt Zane says: "The song was meant to be something positive for once but just took a sinister turn with time. Initially about the communion of souls and inner power illuminated with a symbolic burning fire the video is more reminiscent of being trapped within an eternal hell. That's eventually what the real world situation the song was written about was like as well. If it wasn't so painful it would be amusing."
In an effort to try and redirect the release of the video into a positive experience, Society 1 had a massive party in the hills of Los Angeles at a private mansion. Participants of the invite only event were encouraged to dress provocatively and even in costume. Multiple pictures were taken and can be seen below for the first time.

Frontman/guitarist Kyle Stratton says, "The gear I use is really important to my sound. I have my Gibson SG modified for drop C sharp tuning and installed Lace Sensor Pike pickups. Through my pedal board, I have an Electro Harmonics Freeze pedal, a Electro Harmonics 720 Looper, and a Boss Digital Delay, to my splitter. After my splitter, one side goes to an Orange 50 watt Rocker Reverb MK III amplifier dirty channel with massive gain and no reverb. The other side of the splitter goes through an Electro Harmonics Big Muff then to an Orange 50 watt Rocker Reverb MK II amplifier. This amp is also on the dirty channel with a bit less gain and some reverb to add coloring. Each amp goes through its own Orange half stack with Vintage 30 speakers. My rig is an extension of my soul."
The concept of Labyrinth of Ashmedai is inspired by Asmodeus, or "Ashmedai", the biblical "king of demons". Conjuring grit-laced sludge inspired by their barren and often oppressive desert backdrop, Atala grips the listener with reflective, crushing doom atmospheres dripping with stoner rock and experimental influences to boot.

As with their last record, Shaman's Path of the Serpent, Labyrinth Of Ashmedai was produced by Billy Anderson, recognized for his work with colossal bands such as Sleep, Melvins and Mastodon.
Atala draws inspiration from their local environment, but not in the way other bands from the area do. "Contrary to popular belief, we aren't from Joshua Tree, the tourist-trap," starts Kyle Stratton. "Unlike our silver spoon-fed, trust-funded neighbors, we're from the blue collar side of town. Twentynine Palms is a military base area - our surroundings inspire our music in a way that is pretty different from the way other local bands describe their own inspirations. It's not all meditation and serenity out here."
Stratton continues, "We feel more sullen in our outlook. Not only do we deal with weather reaching nearly 130 degrees, we see and experience the effects of true struggles - war, poverty, death, drugs, gang violence, prostitution and murder - quite often. Gun stores, casinos, churches, liquor stores, bars, wild animals and greed-based-politics just touch the surface of what our town offers. Without going into too much detail... it's no easy life for us out here. Our music is a mirror that reflects the truth of our personal life experiences."
Stratton says working with producer Billy Anderson gives Atala a great advantage, because not only does he bring out their best, he understands their background on a personal level. "Billy was born and raised in Twentynine Palms, so not only does he understand our feelings of despair, he understands the heaviness we are trying to express musically. He helped mold us; he knows how to package heavy in a palatable way. You can hear his industrial stylings and noise contributions adding to the experimental vibe we have on this record. Because we are so comfortable with him, he is able to push us and bring us to a higher level."

Los Angeles metal titans WINDS OF PLAGUE have debuted an all-new music video today for their track "Nameless Walker". The song is taken from the band's latest LP, "Blood Of My Enemy", which was released on October 27 via Entertainment One Music (eOne) / Good Fight Music.

Vocalist Johnny Plague states: "Over a year ago, I started making weekly trips up to a small apartment in North Hollywood on my days off to work on music for WINDS OF PLAGUE with Noah Sebastian from BAD OMENS. It was strange at first since past WINDS OF PLAGUE records were worked on in larger recording studios or rehearsal spaces and now here I am sitting on the floor of this bedroom working on record number six."
He continues: "Although it was different and humbling, it proved to be the unedited creative environment we needed for this record. We had no time limits, no 'suits' giving their input. "Zombies", the new video from '90s progressive metal adventurers GALACTIC COWBOYS, can be seen below. The song is taken from the band's first album in seventeen years, "Long Way Back To The Moon", which was released on November 17 via Music Theories Recordings/Mascot Label Group. The group's reunited original lineup — lead vocalist Ben Huggins, drummer/vocalist Alan Doss, guitarist/vocalist Dane Sonnier and vocalist/bassist Monty Colvin — descended upon Doss's studio in Houston, Texas in early 2016 to write and record.
GALACTIC COWBOYS has always been a musical enigma. Hailing from Houston, Texas, the band combined melodic thrash, progressive metal, and BEATLES-esque harmonies into a genre of its own creation. Blending these considerable musical chops with a quirky sense of humor, the band quickly distinguished itself from anyone else in the world, garnering fans amongst some of music's biggest stars. Their first time around, though, they were the right band at exactly the wrong time. On this outing, they shoot for the moon again, and celebrate the journey back.
The COWBOYS' most notable fanbase became other musicians—an exclusive club that included other 1990s musical misanthropes such as JELLYFISH, KING'S X and Kevin Gilbert. Reflecting both the musicality and diversity of the band, GALACTIC COWBOYS toured with two hard rock/metal legends, ANTHRAX and DREAM THEATER.

The eleven new tracks (and two bonus tracks) included on "Long Way Back To The Moon" harken back to the COWBOYS' iconic songs, but are infused with a contemporary hard rock sound. In the tradition of ALAN PARSONS PROJECT, Steven Wilson and PERIPHERY, the album is completely organic: engineered, produced, mixed, and mastered by the band — even all the artwork. One trapping of contemporary production set aside by the band was an over-reliance on studio trickery — no Pro Tools, drum triggers or even vocal tuning. Just real music by real musicians.
The album's sound is alternately heavy, whimsical, charging, and crunching, combining inescapable atmosphere with the drive of a band on a mission. Old fans will feel at home, but hard rock fans who have never heard GALACTIC COWBOYS before will also be instantly hooked. As with all GALACTIC COWBOYS albums, the songs are emotional in topic, and often including a large dose of ironic humor. Each song is performed, sung, and written with intense passion.

The song "Zombies" is a tongue-in-cheek study on finding love on the last day of human existence, blended with social commentary regarding modern society's obsession with its electronic screens. Timely topics continue with "Next Joke": from kids' sports in which everyone gets a trophy to Disney telling kids to wish upon a star and all their dreams will come true, our unrealistic expectations have set us all up for failure: the joke is on us. "Internal Masquerade", the album’s first single, examines the turmoil endemic to the human experience and the difficulties in keeping self-generated darkness at bay, themes revisited in darker "Blood In My Eyes".
A special treat for fans both old and new is "In The Clouds", the album's leadoff track and also the first GALACTIC COWBOYS song ever written. Penned in 1989 by Doss and Colvin after the demise of their previous outfit, THE AWFUL TRUTH, the song explores leaving the banal confines of this world behind and ascending to a higher plane of existence. It's also the song Huggins sang to earn his spot in the band!
Having released his latest full-length, Inverted Grasp Of Balance, last year via Metal Blade Records, Monte Pittman is now launching a new video for the album track, "Be Very Afrain”, by Travis Colbert.
Pittman comments: "'Be Very Afraid' was filmed in Colorado & New Mexico by Travis Colbert from Bravo Tip Or Pay. I've been using their app to sell tickets and merch at shows. British heavy metal act, Savage Messiah, have released a video for their song “Eat Your Heart Out”, taken from the recently released album Hands Of Fate.
Frontman David Silver comments, “When we were asked if we wanted to produce a ‘live’ video as our next project, we in the band jumped at the idea. I’ve always felt that the best way to communicate with people is for them to get an idea of what we’re about in a live setting. This video however goes a little deeper than that, as the camera crew decided to follow us around for almost the entire day, and so what you have is a really cool snapshot into a day in the life on tour! I’m really pleased with the outcome, and 'Eat Your Heart Out’ is the perfect song for this type of video as the song talks about what life is like if you’re in a band in 2017, the ups, the downs, the highs and the lows! We don't know 100 percent who he was but we know his horrendous deeds. All the visuals we had in our mind, combined with the sometimes slightly morbid lyrics, made us think that this is what music would have sounded like if heavy metal had existed in the 19th century, or if Jack The Ripper had travelled forward in time to join a metal band. WE SELL THE DEAD would have been his natural choice for a backing band. He probably would have felt right at home with us.
"But, at the same time, the world hasn't exactly evolved into a beautiful place since the 1880s. In the 1979 movie, 'Time After Time', Jack The Ripper escapes justice by, indeed, fleeing in a time machine to 1979. After getting caught by his followers, The Ripper utters this line of wisdom: 'Back in 1893, I was a monster. Today... I'm an amateur.'"

Florida-based death metal veterans OBITUARY have released a brand new music video for "Brave", the opening track off their critically acclaimed, self-titled 10th studio album. The clip, which depicts the band enjoying a day of practice and backyard shenanigans at their home studio outside of Tampa, Florida, was directed by Shaun Egger.
Additionally, OBITUARY has announced a month-long spring 2018 European headlining tour. The trek begins March 3 in Cologne, Germany and ends April 1 in Schijndel, Netherlands at Paaspop festival.
OBITUARY commented on the tour: "We are super excited to be back on a headlining tour in Europe. After parting ways with Roadrunner following the release of 2005's "Frozen In Time", OBITUARY released two albums via Candlelight Records — 2007's "Xecutioner's Return" and 2009's "Darkest Day" — before signing with Relapse Records in 2014.
OBITUARY's second Relapse release — the group's self-titled tenth studio album — came out on March 17.
Dutch female-fronted rockers NEMESEA have released an alternate version of the song "Hear Me". The track, which originally appeared on the band's latest album, 2016's "Uprise" (Napalm Records), features vocals by NEMESEA's latest addition, Sanne Mieloo. Sanne joined NEMESEA in May 2017 as the replacement for Manda Ophuis, who decided to leave the band in 2016 to focus on her education job with highly gifted children.
Says the band: "NEMESEA is banging on your door with this new version of 'Uprise' track 'Hear Me'. Vocalist Sanne pulls off a tour de force with audible ease and the new dirty key sound production by Matthijs offers you a glimpse of NEMESEA 2.0!"
Back in 2006, NEMESEA became the first band internationally to succeeded in a crowdfunding campaign for its new album. They also broke new ground when they performed two unique live shows in 2009 in P3, Purmerend, Holland in full 9.2 surround sound.
With "Uprise" and "Forever" single receiving positive reviews, the NEMESEA members were determined to go on following Manda's departure. Auditions were held in October and November 2016 and Mieloo was chosen to front the group after she persuaded the musicians with her great voice, versatility, stage presence as well as her fresh ideas.
NEMESEA's first collaboration with Sanne was the single "Dance In The Fire", which was produced by Guido Aalbers and released last spring.
Sanne studied cum laude at the Conservatory, wrote her own musical theater performances and was connected to several productions by live entertainment company Stage Entertainment. She's also performed in several musicals, including "Tarzan" and "Sister Act". That said, her talent hasn't gone unnoticed; over the last three years, Sanne performed in several productions in Germany, Austria, Poland and Japan. Apart from her work in the theater world, she has experience in the music scene as well; she's travelled as a backing vocalist for singer Oonagh across major venues in Germany. Most recently Sanne played a leading role in the musical "Tanz Der Vampire" in Switzerland.

NWOBHM (New Wave Of British Heavy Metal) veterans BLITZKRIEG have released the official music video for their new song "Reign Of Fire". The track is the title cut of the band's new single, which was released as a seven-inch vinyl EP on December 8 in a limited edition of five hundred copies embraced by amazing handdrawn old-school metal artwork by Lee Murphy.
Says BLITZKRIEG guitarist Ken Johnson: "We are very excited about the 'Reign Of Fire' EP coming out on our new label/home, Mighty Music, prior to the new album release in 2018. Let's re-ignite the fire... flame on."
"Reign Of Fire" was recorded by Phil (Vandetta) Davies at Downcast Base HQ Recording Studios, Newcastle upon Tyne, England and mixed by Johan Haagesen at Hansen Studios, Ribe, Denmark.

BLITZKRIEG recently entered the studio to record its first album for Mighty Music and follow-up to 2013's "Back From Hell". A spring 2018 release is expected, to be followed by a European tour.
2015 marked the thirty-fifth anniversary of BLITZKRIEG, which came into existence in 1980. Although their debut single, "Buried Alive" b/w "Blitzkrieg" (on Neat Records) was released in 1981, it was not till 1985 that the band recorded its debut album, as Ross was involved with his other group, SATAN, recording and touring their debut opus, "Court In The Act".
BLITZKRIEG's "A Time Of Changes" included the band's self-titled song "Blitzkrieg", which was covered by METALLICA on the "Creeping Death" EP. METALLICA's drummer, Lars Ulrich, commented that BLITZKRIEG was one of his band's main musical inspirations, along with DIAMOND HEAD.
Brian, the only remaining founding member of BLITZKRIEG, said: "Lars Ulrich phoned me up and asked if they could cover the song.
"METALLICA were, and still are, big fans of the band. We have met up with them a few times over the years and I am really pleased that they still play 'Blitzkrieg' at gigs."
Brian said that he tried to give the then-unknown METALLICA a helping hand in the early 1980s.
"They sent me their demo when they were still unsigned, asking for my help to get them on our label," he said. "But the label turned them down, saying they'd never go anywhere.
"I met up with the guy who made that call a few years ago and he says it is the biggest mistake of his life."

Croatian death metal act, Infernal Tenebra, have released a music video for "As Nations Fall", the title track of their latest album, available via Massacre Records.
The album was produced by vocalist/guitarist Darko Etinger, and mixed and mastered by Jens Bogren at Fascination Street Studios in Orebro, Sweden. The artwork, designed by Gustavo Sazes, reflects the album's theme perfectly: society's dysfunctional void of conscience, where human rights are just a phrase, and no one respects life's true values.
