Multi-Grammy Award-winning, Golden Globe nominee Chris Cornell's theatrical version music video for his song "The Promise" has been released by Survival Pictures. "The Promise" was Cornell's last release prior to his passing, and it served as the theme song to this year's film The Promise. All proceeds from the movie are being donated to various charities. Watch the video below.
Earlier this week The Los Angeles Committee of Human Rights Watch also introduced the inaugural Promise Award, which was inspired by the film and song that powerfully depicted the atrocities committed against the Armenian people. The award recognizes an outstanding song, television show, or film that advances the values of equity and justice in an original and powerful way. Fittingly, the inaugural honor was awarded to the late legendary singer and songwriter Chris Cornell in recognition of this song.
"Chris Cornell was not only a dear family friend for many years, but he was also a once-in-a generation talent who is missed more than words can convey. It was such an honor to collaborate and partner on The Promise over the years, said Eric Esrailian, Producer of The Promise and Co-Manager for Survival Pictures. "His music and lyrics will not only shine a light on the Armenian Genocide and the human rights crises of modern times, but they will also inspire people and provide hope for years to come."
The video was directed by Grammy Award winning director Meiert Avis (Audioslave, U2) and Stefan Smith (Madonna, Sting). "The Promise" is Cornell's last music video performance. It also includes media donated by Academy Award nominated director Evgeny Afineesvky (HBO's Cries from Syria), UNESCO Prize for Peace Recipient SOS Méditerranée, Freshwater Films (Ross Kemp's Libya's Migrant Hell), Keo Films (Exodus: Our Journey To Europe), Nazik Armenakyan (Survivors), Human Rights Watch, Refugee Rescue, and Nobel Peace Prize Recipient Doctors Without Borders/Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF).
At the time of the song's release Cornell said, "The Promise" to me is mainly about paying homage to those we lost in the Armenian Genocide, but it's also about shining a light on more recent atrocities. The same methods used in the Armenian genocide were used to carry out crimes against humanity in Bosnia, Darfur, Rwanda and right now in Syria on multiple fronts, contributing to a massive global refugee crisis. Unfortunately, the words 'never again' seem like just words when we recall these mass executions of the twentieth century, as well as renewed racism and prejudice around the world. Even in the US, the warning signs - isolating groups based on race and religion - are evident. We really need to tell these stories and keep telling them in as many different ways as we can. As humans, we have a tremendous capacity to trudge ahead in our lives and not look at the difficult and challenging moments... but I think it's important. Educating ourselves on the past is the best way to understand the present and avoid future atrocities by understanding and intervening. We must educate and stand as one to combat this fear and violence, and as citizens of the world, work to protect each other's human rights."
In April 2017, Cornell and his family toured refugee camps in Greece and it was there that they decided The Chris and Vicky Cornell Foundation would focus its efforts on child refugees and the issues affecting them including education, health and human trafficking.
Babylon A.D. are one of the few hard rock bands from the late '80s/early '90s that are still operating with all of their original members: Derek Davis, vocalist/songwriter, guitarists and songwriters, John Matthews and Ron Freschi, drummer Jamey Pacheco and bassist Robb Reid. The band formed in 1987 and to celebrate their 30th anniversary, will release their new album, Revelation Highway, on November 10th.
A music video for the album track “One Million Miles” is available for streaming below.
Vocalist Derek Davis comments on the song and video, "The song, 'One Million Miles', from our Revelation Highway release is a very special song to me. I wrote the song about my wife and I shared the demo with the band and they immediately wanted to put it on the record. It's a very emotional song and kind of reminds me of floating. The pace of the song, harmony guitar work and lyrics all tie the song together extremely well. I'm very happy with the way it turned out.
"The video treatment fits the songs lyrics like hand in glove. It was so awesome to be at the beach near San Francisco. The day was beautiful and the ocean view was stunning, It, really was a magical day and one of the best times we as a band ever had shooting a video. I really hope our fans will see what we see in the video and song because it is very special to us."
Derek Davis on the new album: "This record kicks ass, from the opening track 'Crash And Burn' to the last track 'Saturday Night'. The band had a blast making the album and a lot had to do with original founding member lead-guitarist John Matthews rejoining the band. He really lit the fire that got the bands blood pumping to make a new record. For me it was awesome to produce and mix such a cool record. It's very hard hitting yet melodic, with some great lyrical story telling and great stand out tracks like, 'One Million Miles', 'Tears', 'Rags To Riches, and 'She Likes To Give It'. The songs are so catchy and memorable on the first listen I know our fans are gonna love it! And of course there are some burning guitar leads to keep the metal heads happy. The band is very grateful that Frontiers Music Srl listened to the tracks and felt the same way about them as we do and offered us the opportunity to get this record out. We can't wait to hit the road and play the material live."
Featuring 10 tracks of the energetic classic hard rock the band is known for, Revelation Highway is sure to please fans of the band's classic early material. The band will play shows in the UK and Germany this August/September to kick off promotion for the album with more touring planned both in the US and UK/Europe.

Classic NWOBHM outfit TRESPASS has released a new music video for the song "Momentum". A hard-rocking British metal song with an old-school '80s JUDAS PRIEST vibe, it is taken from TRESPASS's upcoming comeback album, "Footprints In The Rock", which will be released on January 12, 2018 via Mighty Music.
TRESPASS was formed in Sudbury, Suffolk, England in April 1979 by brothers Mark (guitar, vocals) and Paul Sutcliffe (drums), Dave Crawte (guitar) and Richard Penny (bass). Around this time, they started gigging around East Anglia, playing a mix of rock covers and original songs including early versions of "One Of These Days" and "Lightsmith".
Despite their fairly short-lived time on the metal scene, TRESPASS made a lasting impact. Lars Ulrich and James Hetfield of METALLICA remained fans since the very beginning and "One Of These Days" was featured on NWOBHM compilation "New Wave of British Heavy Metal '79 Revisited" put together by Ulrich and Geoff Barton in 1990.
TRESPASS played festivals in Europe in 2015 and 2016 and will be touring in 2018 in support of the upcoming album.

The official video for the song "My Indigo" from WITHIN TEMPTATION frontwoman Sharon Den Adel's solo project, also called MY INDIGO, can be seen below.
The singer announced the new project's existence via a video message on Facebook in which she described the MY INDIGO material as "very personal" and revealed that composing the songs was a therapeutic experience that helped he deal with an undisclosed family "crisis."
She said in a statement: "For many years, we've been touring and every time we came home, I used to start writing songs almost immediately and was happy to do so. After the last tour, I tried to do the same, but it wasn't the same. Eventually I found myself in a crisis which was bigger than just not being able to write songs. The years of touring and working under a certain pressure took its toll and besides that there were things in my personal life I had to deal with.
"I really took time off, but when I started writing again, it was something totally different than WT, but this was what I needed and I embraced it. One song led to another and it turned into a whole album. I gave it a name and it's called MY INDIGO. MY INDIGO is about my journey these last few years and I would like to share it with you.
"Besides all of this, I'm happy to tell you that my journey has led me back to WITHIN TEMPTATION. There will be a new album and a tour but more about that in the near future.
"My first single [has just been] released and this song is the core of my album and has the same name: 'My Indigo'.
"'My Indigo' is not at all like WITHIN TEMPTATION and it wasn't meant to be that at all. I wrote it first of all for myself, but nevertheless I hope you'll enjoy it as well!"
WITHIN TEMPTATION's last studio album, "Hydra", came out in January 2014. The follow-up to 2011's "The Unforgiving" debuted at No. 16 on the Billboard 200 chart, marking WITHIN TEMPTATION's first appearance in the Billboard Top 20.
Former NIGHTWISH singer Tarja Turunen is bringing the festive season early with the release of her brand new Christmas album, "From Spirits And Ghosts (Score For A Dark Christmas)", on November 17.
The album includes eleven Christmas classics and brings them to a never-before-seen level, uniquely blending Tarja's classically trained voice with darker gothic influences.
Utilizing the sound of a grand orchestra, the successful Finnish solo artist puts a sinister spin on traditional songs like "O Tannenbaum", "We Wish You A Merry Christmas" and "Feliz Navidad", reminding the listener of a dark movie score.
The official video for "O Tannenbaum" can now be seen below.
Besides covering classic carols, "From Spirits And Ghosts" features a twelfth track, the brand new original song "Together". This song is aligned with the dark sound of the album and embodies the theme of ghosts and mysticism throughout, in a brilliant, Tarja-styled manner. "Producing a dark Christmas album in the middle of the summer is a very interesting process, especially if you are doing it by the turquoise Caribbean Sea," Tarja said. "It's significantly different from the snowy Christmas that I am used to in my home country Finland — another proof that the darkness comes from deep within.
"On this album, I explored the other side of Christmas — the Christmas of the lonely people and the missing ones, the Christmas for those that do not find joy in the blinking lights and the jingle bells." "From Spirits And Ghosts (Score For A Dark Christmas)" will be released on November 17 on earMUSIC as 1CD digipak, 1LP Gatefold (180g, black) and digital. There will also be a wide variety of exclusive, limited fan items and bundles. The album is produced by Tarja, the American Emmy Award-winning film score composer Jim Dooley and British producer Tim Palmer, known for his work with PEARL JAM, U2, David Bowie, Lang Lang and THE CURE, among others, who also mixed the album at 62' Studio in Texas. The album was mastered at Sterling Sound in New York City. "From Spirits And Ghosts (Score For A Dark Christmas)" track listing:

"Spectral War", the new video from CAVALERA CONSPIRACY, the band led by brothers and founding SEPULTURA members Max (also of SOULFLY) and Igor Cavalera, can be seen below. The track is taken from CAVALERA CONSPIRACY's fourth album, "Psychosis", which is being released today (Friday, November 17) via Napalm Records. The disc, which was produced by longtime friend Arthur Rizk, was recorded primarily at a studio in Phoenix, Arizona.
Max Cavalera said: "Our new video, 'Spectral War', was directed by the great tattoo artist Paul Booth. It focuses on the idea of manipulating war through the ages!
"I'm very excited for the release of 'Psychosis'! Death/thrash metal is back to set the world on fire!!!"
The cover artwork for "Psychosis" can be seen below.
Speaking to Metal Wani's Jake Patton, Max stated about the follow-up to 2014's "Pandemonium": "The album was produced by Arthur Rizk, our friend and a great producer — an upcoming, underground producer. And he did a great job. I love the record. There are nine songs. We've got one song with Justin [Broadrick] from GODFLESH — just a great NAILBOMB, GODFLESH, CAVALERA kind of song. The rest is all pure thrash madness. And we had it mastered a couple of days ago by Joel Grind from TOXIC HOLOCAUST; he mastered the album. And it's great, man. It's a beast of an album. I think a lot of people are are gonna be surprised when they hear it. It's, for me, the best of all the CAVALERA albums, my favorite one. And it's got the same intensity and energy of the old stuff like [SEPULTURA's] 'Beneath The Remains' and 'Arise'. So a lot of people are gonna be happy to hear that."
Max also talked in more detail about the lyrical themes covered on the new CAVALERA CONSPIRACY disc. He said: "It's a bit… kind of like a mix. There's some stuff about what's going on right now, so there's some terrorist stuff in songs like 'Impalement Execution' and 'Terror Tactics' and 'Excruciating'. And there's some kind of fantasy stuff, like 'Crom', which is the father of Conan. That was a really fun song to make. We have a song called 'Insane' — it's about the state of the world, with Donald Trump and the bombings in England and France. And then, of course, there's an instrumental called 'Psychosis', which is the name of the album, which I think is cool, because I think it also reflects the state of mankind right now, the state of the world right now. It's pretty much psycho — we're living in a psycho age, with madness everywhere we go. The GODFLESH song is called 'Hellfire' — it's about drones. It was inspired by a movie called 'Eye In The Sky' and a movie called 'Good Kill', which is about drones and how people just sit in an air-conditioned office in Nevada and bomb people in Afghanistan and Pakistan with those crazy drones. It was a really cool song built around that, and I really love Justin from GODFLESH's vocals. He sings more in the line of the 'Streetcleaner' vocals from the early GODFLESH, so that came out really nice."
Asked if Max and Igor's recent tour on which they celebrated the twentieth anniversary of SEPULTURA's classic album "Roots" by performing the LP in its entirety influenced the musical content of the new CAVALERA CONSPIRACY material, Max said: "The 'Psychosis' song is very tribal. Some of the recordings were done with Igor in Uganda, in Africa. Igor went there for a thing he did with his wife, like helping people from Uganda, a humanitarian kind of thing. And he recorded a bunch of cool sounds when he was in Africa. So we created this kind of… almost like a voodoo, ambient kind of real tribal… It could have been on [SEPULTURA's] 'Roots'; this song could be on the 'Roots' album. It's got a really great buildup with the drums, and then it has real cool melodic guitars on it — almost like prog rock a little bit. It's kind of like the one 'off' song of the album that really is not like the rest of the record. But it's very cool, it's very tribal and definitely influenced by 'Roots'."
Igor told HeavyMetal.dk that it was "good" for him and Max to have Rizk involved with the new CAVALERA CONSPIRACY album because Arthur "is super passionate about music, the same way we are. So to have someone like him coming in and helping us with ideas and things like that, I think it's gonna surprise a lot of people, 'cause he understands a lot about what's going on today in music, and that's pretty cool — that exchange with us, with the old-school ideas with also someone that understands music right now. I'm far more excited than I've been in many years to put out a record like this. So I have to say I'm quite into it, what we're doing right now."
Max concurred, telling HeavyMetal.dk: "[Arthur] captured the classic Max and Igor in a way that's never really quite been captured before. It was always his objective from the beginning — he wanted to capture the soul of the brothers, and I think he did. I think it's quite amazing, looking back, that somebody can get that out of you after twenty-five years, man. That's awesome. But, like Igor said, there's a lot of noise also — between songs we're gonna hear all this kind of crazy just pure noise and heaviness, which is unheard of. So I'm very excited."
After previously being available exclusively through Apple Music, QUEENS OF THE STONE AGE have unleashed the wickedly entertaining video for "The Way You Used To Do" for all to see.
Written by Joshua Homme, directed by Jonas Åkerlund and produced by Serial Pictures, "The Way You Used To Do" features a dance-fueled Satanic fever dream that only QUEENS OF THE STONE AGE could possibly deliver, set to the equally devilish yet nonetheless contagious first single off the band's new album, "Villains" — out now.
Homme on the unique collaboration with Åkerlund: "Dancing and headbanging are truly individualistic expressions of losing oneself fully in appreciation of music — who better to combine these things into a singular vision than someone who's directed Madonna and Lady Gaga videos, and also happens to have been a member of BATHORY?"
Not enough "Villains" for you? Catch QUEENS OF THE STONE AGE as they make a special appearance on "The Ellen DeGeneres Show" on December 14. Check your local listings for specific air times.
Capping off the expansive and world-dominating "Villains" 2017 tour with a performance at the sold-out KROQ Almost Acoustic Christmas next month, the band will be ready to obliterate 2018 with the latest slew of confirmed dates which are all currently on sale.

"Black Widow", the first video from the Swiss all-girl heavy metal outfit BURNING WITCHES, can be seen below. The clip produced by Michael Studer for 303.ch Productions.
"Black Widow" is taken from BURNING WITCHES' self-titled debut album, which was released earlier in the year. The disc was recorded at the Little Creek Studios in Switzerland with producers V.O. Pulver and Schmier (DESTRUCTION).
Schmier previously stated about BURNING WITCHES: "Those ladies sound original, fresh and heavy! I love the classical heavy metal influence and the [Rob] Halford-inspired vocals!
He continued: "The BURNING WITCHES will sure get their fans. Their sound, in between classical [JUDAS] PRIEST and U.S. power metal like ICED EARTH, caught my attention right away."
BURNING WITCHES was founded during spring 2015 in Brugg, Switzerland, by guitar player Romana Kalkuhl. It has always been her big dream to perform with a women's heavy metal band on stage. During the music university studies, she already started her first group together with Kevin Schaffer, with whom she has recorded two albums and played several concerts.
In 2015, Romana started to look for talented ladies for the new combo. Jeanine Grob (bass), a longtime friend, became the first official member. At a party at a festival, Romana met Seraina Telli (singer) for the first time. It clicked right away betweens the two girls, on a musical and on a personal level. Seraina brought in many ideas and a lot of experience because of her studies at the Music Academy and her band SURRILIUM. The guitarist and the singer became a great songwriting team right away.
Romana wrote Schmier from DESTRUCTION about her new project, and the ladies brought him onboard as a producer/consultant.
After an intensive search and different auditions, BURNING WITCHES found Lala Frischknecht the perfect drummer for the all-girl metal band.
BURNING WITCHES' latest addition is guitarist Alea Wyss, who joined the band in December 2016.
Swedish quartet TRIBULATION will release its new album, "Down Below", will on January 26, 2018 via Century Media Records. The follow-up to the critically acclaimed 2015 release "The Children Of The Night" will feature artwork crafted by TRIBULATION guitarist Jonathan Hultén.
The official music video for the first track from the album, "The Lament", was directed by Robert Piel and can be seen below.
TRIBULATION comments: "We always plant strange seeds, seeds that when fully grown and ripened have taken their own often unexpected twists and turns. When working with this video we got to share that process with someone else who is also planting strange seeds.
"Director and producer Robert Piel approached us and wanted to make a collaboration, which was something that we gladly accepted after seeing his previous work and after seeing how well we got along and how our cinematic references really overlapped.
"It's rare that you find people who have that creative spark that lacks in most of us and the discipline to fully get the job done. Robert and his entire crew had that! They all put a lot of effort and work into this and we all gladly endured the long and cold German nights. We hope you all enjoy our artistic amalgamation!"
"Down Below" track listing:

"Down Below" will be preceded by a brand-new seven-inch EP on December 22. Titled "Lady Death", it will include the album track "Lady Death" as well as the B-side "Skärselden".
TRIBULATION will commence its touring cycle for "Down Below" with runs across Central Europe and the U.K. supporting ARCH ENEMY and WINTERSUN, as well as dates in the East and South of Europe with INSOMNIUM.
LIV SIN, the new band led by former SISTER SIN vocalist Liv "Sin" Jagrell, has released the official music video for a new song called "King Of The Damned". The track is a call to action for the public to do something about the extinction of the world's wildlife. The band has chosen to work with the Swedish animal rights organization Djurens Rätt during the single campaign.
Jagrell got the inspiration for the lyrics to "King Of The Damned" from Nick Brandt's "Inherit The Dust", a photo exhibition where Brandt revisited places where he used to take pictures of the wildlife that shows how these landscapes now has turned into wastelands filled with piles of garbage.
"This is extremely depressing and not flattering for mankind," says Jagrell. "Unfortunately, this is the way we are heading if we do nothing. Remember 'Lion King'? Well, soon there is not going to be any 'King Of The Jungle' left. The few lions left will become the 'King Of The Damned' instead."
LIV SIN's debut album, "Follow Me", was released in April via the Swedish label Despotz Records. The effort was co-produced by longtime ACCEPT and U.D.O. member Stefan Kaufmann.
The official video for the song "Retribution" from Jeff Scott Soto can be seen below. The track is the title cut of his new album, which was released on November 10 via Frontiers Music Srl.
Co-written and produced together with Jeff Scott Soto alumni Howie Simon, "Retribution" is Jeff's sixth proper solo studio album in a style that fans have come to know and love from the legendary singer over the years.
Jeff Scott Soto's career spans over thirty years. He was first introduced to the public as the vocalist for guitar virtuoso Yngwie Malmsteen's iconic first two solo albums before going on to front esteemed hard rock band TALISMAN. He is also one of the vocalists for the wildly popular TRANS-SIBERIAN ORCHESTRA, the lead vocalist for super group W.E.T. (featuring JSS alongside members of ECLIPSE and WORK OF ART), and creative visionary for the more metal leaning Soto, among many other musical activities he has been involved in. He also held a stint fronting Rock And Roll Hall Of Famers JOURNEY and was one of the vocalists for the officially sanctioned QUEEN tribute QUEEN EXTRAVAGANZA. His incredible voice has led to many an artist inviting him to do guest lead vocals or background vocals on their albums, including, but not limited to, STRYPER, Joel Hoekstra, SAIGON KICK, Fergie Frederiksen, Lita Ford, STEELHEART, and more.
In 1994, he released his first solo outing, "Love Parade", followed by the acclaimed "Prism" (2002), "Lost In The Translation" (2005), "Beautiful Mess" (2009) and "Damage Control" (2012).

NICKELBACK's music video for the song "The Betrayal (Act III)" can be seen below. The track is taken from the band's ninth album, "Feed The Machine", which was released in June via BMG.
NICKELBACK leader Chad Kroeger told Music Choice about "Feed The Machine": "This album is definitely heavier, as a whole, than a lot of our previous records. We've gone back to some pretty crunchy roots, and we're happy about that. I mean, we're always stretching off in different directions and trying different things, but we definitely went with more of an aggressive sound on this record."
Kroeger called "The Betrayal (Act III)" "probably one of the hardest and heaviest songs we've ever put out… It is quite heavy; there's a lot of screaming that goes on in that chorus," he said. "I think we've all tasted a little betrayal in our days and it is not a flavor that I think any of us liked to swallow."
As previously reported, NICKELBACK will return to Sin City in February 2018 for an impressive five-night run at The Joint at Hard Rock Hotel & Casino. MONSTER TRUCK will open all five shows. The limited run is made even more special with the announcement that these shows will be NICKELBACK's only North American dates scheduled in 2018.
The Las Vegas shows are scheduled for February 23, 24, 27 and March 2 and 3, 2018.
Following its Vegas run, NICKELBACK will embark on the international leg of the "Feed The Machine" tour throughout the remainder of 2018.
The Haxans - a goth pop duo consisting of Ashley Costello (New Years Day) and Matt Montgomery aka Piggy D. (Rob Zombie) have debuted a brand new music video showcasing their devilishly delightful single, "Young Blood", featured on their debut album, Party Monsters, out now via Red Music. Get your copy on limited edition, hand numbered 12" vinyl here. Grab it digitally via iTunes, or stream it now on Spotify.
"The 'Young Blood' video expresses The Haxans visually in my favorite way," remarks Ashley Costello, "If Gomez and Morticia Addams melted together with Ike and Tina Turner and encourage all the ghouls in the audience to dance and shake their tail feathers, horns, and claws in the aisles. It's a fancy party rock song. It has rock'n'roll elements but it wants you to start moving and dancing. If you want to smile and feel good, this is your jam."
Matt Montgomery adds, "I think 'Young Blood' is our flagship jam. Musically it kinda sums us up, and the video does the same. If you were a member of some secret late night basement Vampire Party club, we might be the house band."
BLACK COUNTRY COMMUNION's official music video for "Over My Head" can be seen below. The track is taken from the band's fourth album, "BCCIV", which was released on September 22 via Mascot Records. This is BLACK COUNTRY COMMUNION's first studio album since 2013's "Afterglow".
BLACK COUNTRY COMMUNION is the Anglo-American rock group comprising vocalist/bassist Glenn Hughes (DEEP PURPLE, TRAPEZE), drummer Jason Bonham (LED ZEPPELIN, FOREIGNER), Derek Sherinian (DREAM THEATER, ALICE COOPER, BILLY IDOL) and blues-rock guitarist/vocalist Joe Bonamassa.
Just like its three predecessors, "BCCIV" was overseen by Kevin Shirley, whose catalogue of hit records for LED ZEPPELIN, IRON MAIDEN, AEROSMITH, JOURNEY and THE BLACK CROWES has made him one of the hottest producers that rock music has to offer. Shirley, who originally had the idea of putting Hughes and Bonamassa in a band after seeing them jamming together onstage in Los Angeles back in November 2009, is the group's unofficial "fifth member."
"BCCIV" track listing:
01. Collide (4:07)02. Over My Head (4:06)03. The Last Song For My Resting Place (7:57)04. Sway (5:24)05. The Cove (7:11)06. The Crow (6:00)07. Wanderlust (8:18)08. Love Remains (4:53)09. Awake (4:42)10. When The Morning Comes (7:56)11. With You I Go (bonus track on vinyl edition only)
Speaking to myRockworld about some of the lyrical themes covered on "BCCIV", Hughes said: "All the songs were written with a topic — what kind of song we're gonna write musically, what kind of song am I gonna write lyrics about? This album is about walking through the fear, having faith, hope, the killing of dolphins, which I'm against, of course. Look for a big video on [that song, 'The Cove'] — a big video. 'Wanderlust', a song that was written about my travels and always returning home, always safe… to get back home to a safe place. 'The Crow', a very intense rock track written about the bird that watches over the band; it's really a great song about the Black Country. I wrote a song for my father when he passed away, called 'Love Remains'. The chorus was very, very sensitive, and it sounds like a song written for someone that had just passed. So it's a very personal song for me."
As for the track "The Last Song For My Resting Place", Hughes said: "[BLACK COUNTRY COMMUNION guitarist] Joe [Bonamassa said to] me, 'Hey, I've got this idea about writing a song about the head violin player… or the leader of the orchestra on the Titanic, and I said, 'That's a really good idea.' So he wrote a lyric about the violin player — a great Joe song that needed to be, as always… I mean, I love Joe, I love Joe's voice and I love Joe's work — I really do love him. And I thought it was a great opportunity to show how versatile Joe is on this particular song. So I'm really happy for Joe."
Elsewhere, the basic idea for "Over My Head" came to Hughes in the middle of the night. "[My wife] hears me singing, [singing] 'Over my head.' And she said, 'Honey, what's that?' I said, 'I don't know, but I have to go and record it,'" Glenn recalled. "And I left the bedroom and I went, [singing], 'Over my head,' and I just wrote a song around that chorus, that very melodic chorus. And I came back to bed, and the idea was recorded. And that's the way I took it to Joe and we finished it together."
BLACK COUNTRY COMMUNION's inception took place when Hughes and Bonamassa fused their styles on stage in Los Angeles in November 2009 for an explosive performance at Guitar Center's King Of The Blues event. With the help and guidance of Shirley, they further added to their rock lineage by recruiting Bonham and Sherinian.
BLACK COUNTRY COMMUNION has announced two exclusive concerts in Europe during January 2018 to support of "BCCIV". The band will play Wolverhampton Civic Hall on Tuesday, January 2 and London Hammersmith Apollo on Thursday, January 4. These will be the only two concerts the band will play in Europe.
The origin story of the fastest rising band in underground rock, Barb Wire Dolls, is undoubtedly an impressive one. From being discovered and signed by late rock legend Lemmy Kilmister of Motörhead, to being personally invited to move to Los Angeles by iconic KROQ DJ Rodney Bingenheimer, Barb Wire Dolls have proven worthy of some of music's biggest stars.
While Barb Wire Dolls are humbled by those honors to this day, their chief honor was to be personally invited to record in the Joshua Tree desert at legendary studio Rancho De La Luna in California. Not only because of the iconic status of the other artists who have recorded there, like Iggy Pop and Queens Of The Stone Age, but because it came at the hands of co-owner and Eagles Of Death Metal member Dave Catching. However, this was before Catching's life and the music community as it existed would be forever altered.
Dave Catching was with the Eagles Of Death Metal at the time of the tragic Bataclan venue shooting, where 90 people lost their lives to senseless violence exactly two years ago on November 13, 2015. The tragedy not only shook the music community - it shook the world.
"After the Paris Attacks, we wrote David [Catching] and told him, apart from our most sincere condolences for what had happened, that we understood if he would not want us to come in and record at his studio after such events," recalls Barb Wire Dolls vocalist Isis Queen. "But he immediately replied, 'the music must go on, they can't take that away'..."
With Catching's blessing, Barb Wire Dolls traveled to Rancho De La Luna - all the while inspired by their desert surroundings and the emotional journey they were about to take. They put pen to paper, writing several tracks inspired by the Bataclan tragedy that would eventually take position on Rub My Mind.
Isis continues, "...with that one message [from Dave], songs and tears came pouring out of us. We wrote most of the songs on the new album just as we entered his studio in the desert."
Once in the studio, the band recorded the chilling rock anthem, "Fade Away", which was purely inspired by the tragedy. What's more, the band was honored to have Dave Catching and the other members of Eagles Of Death Metal be the very first people to hear the track - present at the first full play of the song at the studio.
Today, Barb Wire Dolls are finally revealing the music video for "Fade Away", adding haunting image and further inspiration to the already emotional track. The video was filmed, edited and directed by French filmmaker Romaine Zawadski, and shot in a dungeon outside of Nancy, France.
In a statement posted in the video description, the band dedicates the track to not only those impacted by and lost to the senseless tragedy at the Bataclan, but to anyone who has been affected by the shootings at live music / entertainment events in London, Orlando, Las Vegas, and any senseless act of violence. Along with the Bataclan, these are all tragedies that have greatly impacted the music community and beyond, and Barb Wire Dolls feels that as a community, we need to spread more love into the world and keep the music flowing freely.

PROPHETS OF RAGE's music video for the song "Hands Up" can be seen below. The track is taken from the band's self-titled debut album, which was released on September 15. The disc was recorded with legendary producer Brendan O'Brien who has done notable work with RAGE AGAINST THE MACHINE and AUDIOSLAVE.
PROPHETS OF RAGE is the supergroup featuring Chuck D, Tom Morello and other members of RAGE AGAINST THE MACHINE alongside CYPRESS HILL's B-Real.
"Prophets Of Rage" scored top chart entries in multiple countries across the globe in its first week. The album sold more than 21,000 copies in the U.S., entering Billboard's Top 200 Album chart at No. 16. The set's strong international chart showings include a No. 6 debut in the U.K., No. 8 in France, No. 14 in Germany, No. 4 in New Zealand and NO. 11 in Australia.
Formed amid 2016's tumultuous election, PROPHETS OF RAGE have toured extensively in the U.S. and Europe and coalesced into an explosive unit capable of playing with equal parts precision, passion and muscle. The new album, with bold cover art created for the band by renowned street artist, Shepard Fairey, fuses the diverse styles, sonic firepower and hard-hitting social consciousness of their previous work into an inventive, compelling and timely new musical statement. Michael Moore, who directed the blistering, politically charged video for the track "Unfuck The World" declared: "PROPHETS OF RAGE is the right band, saying the right shit, at this very critical moment."
"When we put this band together a year ago, I don't think any of us knew what to expect or how it would be received by the people," stated B-Real. "From that time to now, it's been amazing to see the growth of this new amazing band and to see the effect it has had on the fans we've played for. I feel blessed to be a part of it. Our chemistry is undeniable when we are on stage, and to finally bring forth a new album with that same powerful chemistry is exciting and we can't wait to see what the future brings."
At its core, PROPHETS OF RAGE functions not only on a love of music, but a deep belief in its power as a tool and a weapon. Woven into the band's DNA are influences as varied as THE CLASH, KRS-One and Johnny Cash, as well as the undeniable ideals and aesthetics of its predecessors: PUBLIC ENEMY's frenzied, racing textures, RAGE's jaw-melting riffs, and CYPRESS HILL's manically playful party energy.
Greek melodic death metal band, Aetherian, have released a video for Dark Earth, a track from their upcoming debut album, The Untamed Wilderness, to be released on November 24th via Lifeforce Records. Watch the clip below.
Listening to Aetherian for the first time makes you think the band would come from Finland or Sweden, but the trio in fact is from sunny shores of Greece. Even with a Southern heritage and much more Vitamin D in their veins the band from Athens share the same melancholic genes as their “competitors” from the upper North. With the sound the band is creating we are very sure Aetherian will be playing in the first league of melodic death metal bands very soon.

“Wish Of Autumn Twilight”
“Dark Earth”
“As The Veil Fades”
“Black Sails”
“Seeds Of Deception”

Nuclear Blast recently announced the signing of Dutch epic death/black metallers Bleeding Gods and the release of their upcoming album, Dodekathlon. This new record will be a concept album and is scheduled to be released on January 12th. Today, the band presents their first single with it's corresponding music video, for the song “From Feast To Beast”.
Main man and guitarist Ramon Ploeg comments the song and the video, directed by Sebastiaan Spijker: "We are really proud to launch our first single 'From Feast To Beast' from the new album Dodekathlon upon you! The track is about catching the Erymanthian Boar and bring it back alive to King Eurystheus. This was Hercules' 4th labour of the series of 12 episodes concerning his penance for slaying his son, daughter and wife Megara. Sebastiaan did an awesome job directing the video, which only shows some band shots. It is a real joy to work with him and he has a good and fast communication, which we like. We hope you will enjoy the video as much as we do!"
Additionally, Bleeding Gods today unveil the album's tracklisting and therefore also more insights on the album concept. The twelve songs represent the twelve labours of Hercules, the greatest of the ancient Greek heroes, who had to serve his cousin king Eurystheus for twelve years and to perform these twelve labours to concern a penance for his terrible actions.... The album was recorded at Pitch Note Productions and Hal 5 Studio; mixed and mastered at Soundlodge Studio. The cover artwork was created by Dimitris Tzortzis from Immensa Artis.
