Obscure melodic black metallers, Cold Raven, have released a new video for the track “Equilibrium And Chaos”, filmed this month in Ostrava, Czech Republic, Lubiana, Slovenia, Zurich, Switzerland and Wroclaw, Poland during the Evil Over Europe tour supporting Possessed, Belphegor and Absu. The original track is featured on the Equilibrium And Chaos album. Watch the video below:
Cold Raven are currently writing new material for their next album. The new album will represent an evolution in the band’s songwriting, though confirming the style shown in the previous work.
Cold Raven – formed in 2013 – released their debut full length album, Equilibrium & Chaos, in 2014 via Sliptrick Records. The band’s sound is influenced by the black metal scene of the early ‘90s, as well by the bands that followed and contributed to open the horizons of the genre. So far Cold Raven has shared the stage with important acts such as Nargaroth, Infernal War, Necromass, Dark Funeral, God Dethroned, Belphegor, Unleashed, Mortuary Drape, Impaled Nazarene, etc., and have played in several European countries.
Italian metallers, Killin’ Kind, have released their new album, Dying Earth. A video for the track “The Raven” can be found below.
Killin’ Kind is a four piece metal ensemble born in Novara, Italy. Singer and guitar player Tito’s leadership since 1996 passes through years of sound development, improved in 1998 by the great cooperation and complementary songwriting of lead guitarist Daniele Genugu (King Wraith, Bejelit). After a lot of stage experience, the debut album, Metal Rage, saw the light in 2008 via Old Ones Records.
The duo continued developing the original sound of KK made of rage, melodies and introspection and, thanks to a new complete lineup with Paolo Laurenti (Necroart, Nevrast) on drums and Dest (Heavenfall, Altjira) on bass. Tito’s raging lead voice is now entwined with Daniele and Dest ones on dark and apocalyptic lyrics.
The band gives birth to melodic thrash metal riffs enriched by complex arrangements focused on harmonized and neoclassical guitar works, polyphonic choirs and a fast, technical drumming. Killin’ Kind’s unique sound can be appreciated at best on their new release, Dying Earth, out now via Underground Symphony.

Italian modern/gothic metal band, Revenience, have release their new video for the track “Revenant”, taken from the album Daedalum, released earlier in the year via Sliptrick Records.
The video has been an ambitious undertaking for the band, shooting in difficult and exotic locations to provide a portentous, epic, movie-like feel. The song itself is a moody, sumptuous ballad featuring lead vocalists Debora Ceneri’s soaring vocals and the band in reflective yet powerful mode perfectly embodying the feel of the visuals. Watch below.
Story synopsis: In a not so distant future, after a unspecified disaster that has put humanity on the edge of extinction - a small group of survivors live in harsh condition dealing with primal experiences. Their only concern is to stay alive, even if they are somehow trying to cling to remnants of their civilization (reading, painting, religion, etc). It is at this moment, that a mystical entity, with a red and black robe and a mysterious box, appears. Everyone feels its presence and they turn and follow it as if hypnotized.
Then, the box is opened, unveiling its content: a daedalum. Spinning the daedalum causes a quantum leap, funneling the survivors into another dimension, where they experience, once again, a glimpse of civilization through music, art, elegance and beauty – a show in a baroque theater – all overseen by the mystical entity. Then the daedalum stops spinning and they are pulled back to their miserable reality. But the daedalum is still there, left by the entity as a gift. So they can spin it again and perhaps find hope for a better future.

Sylvain Rouvière’s Kaktus Project have covered Iron Maiden’s “Wasting Love”, featured on Maiden’s ninth studio album, Fear Of The Dark, released in 1992.
Says Rouvière: “These last years, as you already know, the sales of music albums fell a lot, so I decided not to take out a second Kaktus Project. Nevertheless I still remain passionate for music and will regularly propose new titles (compositions or covers) freely accessible by internet (YouTube). Today I have the pleasure to present a cover of Iron Maiden’s “Wasting Love”.”
On the track, Rouvière is accompanied by Céline Lacroix (vocals), Glauco Alves (vocals) and Mr Belette (David Rousseau, drums).
Brazil's Weakless Machine have posted their new music video, for the track “Tarred With The Same Bush”, available for streaming below.
The band released the clip in preview of their upcoming debut album (title and release date to be determined). The video was recorded at Studio Black, filmed and edited by Orbit Global Art.
Australian death metal quintet, In Death, have released an official music video for "Godzilla”, a track from their forthcoming debut album, The Devil Speaks, targeted for a February release. The video was filmed and edited by Wilson Bambrick. Watch below.
Vigorously honing their craft as a live act since August 2008, two crucial elements have developed within the band that now form part of the unofficial band ethos: Tight performances packaged with energetic delivery. The result can only be described as a whirlwind of energy punctuated by an intensely accurate technical punch.
In Death combine overwhelming power and groove with subtle technicality and some unexpected twists to deliver a package that can not only cause frenzy among seasoned metal-heads, but also bring new fans to the metal genre with horns held high and banging heads.
Tracklisting:
“Malignancy Eradicated”
“The Pitfalls Of Immortality”
“Bow To Your Master”
“Every Burial”
“Godzilla”
“Fuck Your Kind”

Finnish folk metallers KORPIKLAANI have released a video for their latest digital single, "FC Lahti". The song is a very special track written in support of the 20th anniversary of the band's local football team, FC Lahti, which plays in Finland's premier football division Veikkausliiga.
The "FC Lahti" video contains footage from KORPIKLAANI's appearance at this year's edition of the Czech Republic's Masters Of Rock festival.
KORPIKLAANI's Jonne Järvelä states: "When I was asked if KORPIKLAANI would want to support the local football team playing at the top level in Finland, my answer was definitely yes.
"My first idea on how to take this forward was the thing that is important to us as a band, to write a song, a new official anthem for FC Lahti, and here it is now.
"Lyrics are not just about football, but also about love for your hometown without forgetting its history.
"I wish the fans of FC Lahti and everyone else too will like the song."
Tomi Honkanen, the managing director (president) of FC Lahti, adds: "FC Lahti and KORPIKLAANI are two strong brands that generate strong emotions in Lahti and internationally.
"At FC Lahti, we highly value that KORPIKLAANI wears our colors and brings our great FC Lahti to the world. Lahti rocks!"
KORPIKLAANI's latest album, "Noita", was released in May 2015 in North America via Nuclear Blast. Recorded at Petrax Studio with Aksu Hanttu producing, recording and mixing again, it is the band's first CD to feature new accordion player Sami Perttula, who played a very active role in the folk arrangements along with fiddler Tuomas Rounakari.
"Phantom Self", the new video from Brazilian/American metallers SEPULTURA, can be seen below. The Mauricio Eça-directed clip delivers haunting images and sociocultural criticism.
"Phantom Self" is taken from SEPULTURA's new studio album, "Machine Messiah", which will be released on January 13 via Nuclear Blast. Inspired by the robotization of our society, the disc was produced by the band and Jens Bogren (SOILWORK, OPETH, KATATONIA, AMON AMARTH) of Fascination Street Studios in Örebro, Sweden. The CD's stunning cover artwork was created by Filipino artist Camille Della Rosa.
"'Phantom Self' starts with a short intro based on the Brazilian rhythm 'Maracatú', originally from the Northeast region of Brazil", explains SEPULTURA guitarist Andreas Kisser. "We mixed this very Brazilian sound with violins performed by a Tunisian violin ensemble, the Myriad Orchestra. This was a suggestion from Jens Bogren, the producer of the album, who worked with this orchestra before and he thought it could be a nice combination. We used the violins on different parts of the song and that opened a lot of new possibilities, especially for my guitar parts."
He continued: "It was great to have that conversation between guitar and violins, making the part even more special.
"It's a very heavy song, with a lot of groove, one of the most complete songs we ever worked with, and it's taking SEPULTURA to a new level!"
Adds SEPULTURA singer Derrick Green: "The lyrical idea came from an article that Andreas sent me. It was about a young man who had everything going for him and unfortunately was in a horrific car accident in the '70s. After the accident, he lost his entire idea of who he was. No one could figure out what was going on inside his mind. He would have glimpses of his former self but doctors realized that chemical elements of his mind had shifted. He had become an entirely different person within himself.
"There is this element of change that exists within all of us. This ability is important for our evolution as human beings to move forward even after traumatic events."
"Machine Messiah" track listing:
01. Machine Messiah02. I Am The Enemy03. Phantom Self04. Alethea05. Iceberg Dances06. Sworn Oath07. Resistant Parasites08. Silent Violence09. Vandals Nest10. Cyber God
Regarding how SEPULTURA ended up working with Jens Bogren on the new CD, Kisser told SVT.se: "We did like a small research on different producers that we didn't work [with] before; we wanted to work with somebody new. And the Swedish music and scene and the bands like MESHUGGAH, OPETH and many others inspired us to come here and to work with him. He also worked with KREATOR, a band from Germany, and ANGRA, another band from Brazil, friends of ours, and I was really impressed with the way he worked [with] both bands."
According to Green, "Machine Messiah" sees him and his bandmates continuing to take their sound in new, previously unexplored directions, something that has become somewhat of a SEPULTURA trademark.
"This album, it's exciting, because I think a lot of fans don't have any idea what to expect, but they know that a SEPULTURA album is always different from the last," Derrick said. "I think that makes us better musicians, and I think that's what our fans expect."
After completing a comprehensive European tour with Century Media Records labelmates ENTOMBED A.D., Canadian progressive sci-fi metal innovators VOIVOD are wrapping up a busy year of promoting their "Post Society" EP, and are now launching a promotional video clip for its title track.
The clip, which was shot by Dirk Behlau of the Beastwood Film Production (SPIRITUAL BEGGARS, DARK TRANQUILLITY, ARCH ENEMY) during VOIVOD's appearance at the Leafmeal festival in Germany, can be seen below.
While continuing work on VOIVOD's upcoming studio album, drummer Michel "Away" Langevin checked in with a comment about the "Post Society" video and looked back on the band's very successful 2016.
"This video is the best ending of a very productive and crazy year!" he said. "It started in February-March with a North American East Coast tour with VEKTOR, EIGHT BELLS and BLACK FAST. Then the West Coast and across Canada in May-June with CHILD BITE and KING PARROT. We were joined by Jason Newsted in San Francisco for a two-basses rendition of the song 'Voivod'.
"Shortly after getting back home, we drove down to Montebello, Quebec, to perform at the ever-growing Amnesia Rockfest, where I watched a very tight and energetic show by our friends D.R.I.
"In July, we flew to the Hell And Heaven Fest in Mexico City, where we shared the stage with SEPULTURA and witnessed an intense performance by SUICIDAL TENDENCIES with Dave Lombardo on drums! My highlight was watching TWISTED SISTER in the middle of tens of thousands of people singing 'We're Not Gonna Take It'. We also visited the pyramids of Teotihuacan.
"In August, it was time to go to Europe for a few festivals and club shows. We got a great crowd reaction at Into The Grave festival in The Netherlands, where we ran into our old pals CARCASS.
"In October, we flew to St. John's in the Canadian Maritimes to play our first show ever in Newfoundland. The next day we played the Halifax Pop Explosion in Nova Scotia, came back home right on time to repack and flew to Europe again for a fun tour with ENTOMBED A.D.! We made a stop at the Leafmeal festival in Dortmund, Germany, where we shot the 'Post Society' video with Dirk Behlau / Beastwood Film Production.
"We wrote some songs on the road, demoed them between tours, and now we will spend the winter writing some more, just to make sure there will be a brand new VOIVOD album in 2017.
"Thanks for coming to the shows.
"Enjoy the video, which is very representative of the good time we have on stage, and see you next year!"
The String Quartets is a new album by Jethro Tull’s Ian Anderson and the Carducci Quartet featuring the classic songs of Jethro Tull, arranged and orchestrated by John O’Hara. A video for “Ring Out These Bells (Ring Out, Solstice Bells)” can be found below
Ian plays flute on most of the tracks and even sings a few lines here and there to provide his trademark sounds in the context of classical music traditions. “Living In The Past”, “Aqualung”, “Locomotive Breath” and “Bungle In The Jungle” are amongst the album tracklisting but appear, along with their fellow musical travelers, under more cryptic titles to differentiate them from the original recordings and arrangements.
Recorded in the crypt of Worcester Cathedral, UK and in St Kenelm’s Church, Sapperton, Gloucestershire, UK, Ian says that this album is, “Perfect for lazy, long sunny afternoons, crisp winter nights, weddings and funerals.”
He forgot to add, perfect also after a night of wild, abandoned sex or to celebrate the win of your favourite football team. Essentially, anytime music for sophisticated lovers of classic rock too afraid to wear their Tull T-shirt at the village barbecue.
The album will be released on March 24th via BMG/The End Records. Pre-order now at PledgeMusic.

"Bring The Hammer Down", the new video from RIOT V, the band featuring the remaining members of legendary metal pioneers RIOT, can be seen below. The clip was filmed at Phat Cat Guitars in Saginaw, Michigan when the band was rehearsing for a tour of Japan. The video was edited by Sascha Weins.
"Bring The Hammer Down" is taken from RIOT V's debut album, "Unleash The Fire", which was released in October 2014 via SPV/Steamhammer. The CD marked the first release from RIOT without the late, great founding guitarist Mark Reale, who passed away in early 2012 and was limited on his participation on 2011's reunion album "Immortal Soul" because of his health issues. The band was encouraged at the request of Mark and the Reale estate to forge ahead in his honor and has dedicated this new offering to him.
RIOT V recently played number of dates with original "Fire Down Under" guitarist Rick Ventura. The trek included appearance at the Loud Park festival in Japan in early October.
"Unleash The Fire" promised to please fans of the "Thundersteel" era of RIOT, as main songwriter and longtime Reale music collaborator Don Van Stavern did much of the writing, as he did on "Thundersteel" and "The Privilege Of Power". Don is joined by longtime RIOT bandmate, songwriter and Reale's guitar partner of over 20 years, Mike Flyntz, to create what they feel is something they are proud to call a RIOT record. The RIOT V lineup is completed by powerhouse vocalist extraordinaire Todd Michael Hall (BURNING STARR, REVERENCE), Frank Gilchriest (VIRGIN STEELE, RIOT's "Army Of One") and former Mike Flyntz guitar student and resident shredder Nick Lee.
"Candiru", the new video from Dutch doom death metallers ASPHYX, can be seen below. The clip was shot during the band's recent appearance at Turock Open Air festival in Essen, Germany and was edited by Maurice Swinkels of Younique Film, who previously worked with ASPHYX on the "Forerunners Of The Apocalypse" video.
ASPHYX vocalist Martin Van Drunen stated about "Candiru": "'Candiru' is a no-nonsense, non-compromising, three-riff-containing, fast ASPHYX death metal track. A gory story about a revolting little fish from the Amazon that can nest itself in human genitals to suck blood after it got there via the urine stream. Only removable through amputation, so be careful there where you relieve yourselves, folks! The video was recorded at this year's Turock Open Air in Essen Germany, which we can almost call our second home. The very first time we ever rammed that tune on stage. We had a ball, as always, so hope you do too while watching this."
"Candiru" is taken from ASPHYX's new studio album, "Incoming Death", which was released on September 30 via Century Media Records. The follow-up to 2012's "Deathhammer" was recorded at several different studios throughout 2016 and was once more mixed and mastered by Dan Swanö, who previously worked with the band on the "Deathhammer", "Death…The Brutal Way" and "Live Death Doom" releases.
"Incoming Death" track listing:
01. Candiru02. Division Brandenburg03. Wardroid04. The Feeder05. It Came From The Skies06. The Grand Denial07. Incoming Death08. Forerunners Of The Apocalypse09. Subterra Incognita10. Wildland Fire11. Death: The Only Immortal Martin Van Drunen previously stated about ASPHYX's new album: "'Incoming Death', the third ASPHYX album after our resurrection in 2007, contains 11 furious songs in the traditional death/doom style which we are known for so well. Only more unmerciful than ever! Lyrical themes include gore humor, death, doom, war, sci-fi, the varying trustworthy ASPHYX subjects, each fusing perfectly with the metal of the tracks. "The album title already existed two or three years ago, being a phrase that doesn't really exist but refers to what entrenched soldiers cry out when under severe artillery fire. Thus 'Incoming Death' implies another relentless bombardment of monstrous ASPHYX death/doom metal!" The "Incoming Death" artwork was once again created by longtime cover artist Axel Hermann (SODOM, GRAVE, MORGOTH), who commented: "'Incoming Death' is my tenth collaboration with ASPHYX. Instead of visualizing the obvious, which would have been a reaper just collecting the soul of a dying man on his deathbed, I tried a maybe more sinister approach, simply by giving the concept a slightly different twist. A demon-infested living cemetery filled with decaying souls, forever being tortured with their own consciousness...or worse!" Martin added: "Of course, no ASPHYX release without the magnificent cover art of Axel Hermann, whose interpretation of the title fits superb with the atmosphere of the recordings. His demons are ours and soon they will be yours too!" ASPHYX is:

Norwegian Balkan metallers Trollfest are going to release their new Album Helluva on February 24th via NoiseArt Records. The Trolls once more bring their mix of extreme metal and Balkan influences to a new level with an added brass section, combined with more Kaos.
Trollfest has presented Steel Sarah, the princess of perfume, the feminine fighter, the gentle gladiator! She is the tank on an enormous adventure led by another troll-dude, who shall be introduced later! She climbs caves and slays snakes with maximum feminine ferocity. Eat your heart out, Arnold Braunschweiger.
Trollfest states:
"We wanted a vintage look for this video, so we borrowed the time-machine from you-know-who and traveled back to 1987 to do this the right way. Some of you may not know this, but Manskow had his own talkshow for a couple of years back then. The whole deal was filmed live, no playback of lipsyncing at all (obviously), mastered it a great VHS-studio and threw it in the time-machine! Unfortunately we lost our way, ended up in the middle ages, forgot the tape somewhere around Camelot, but it was actually discovered last week by some geologists looking for geological stuff! Lucky break! So, here it is, guys! The first video from our upcoming album Helluva, out February 24th, 2017!"
