Ipswich, UK-based black metal band, Eastern Front, have released the official video for the song “The Fire Consumes”, taken from third album, EmpirE, which was released on September 30th via Cacophonous. EmpirE focuses on the concept of building an empire through bloodshed and devastation, and is the first record to feature new vocalist Marder.
Guitarist Destroyer: “Signing to the birthplace of UK black metal, and to be a part of this historic relaunch is such an honour. Their mission statement and work ethic really resonates with us and clearly it hasn't changed since the early 90's, their passion to succeed is infectious and with it being such exciting time in the UK extreme music scene the quality of the Cacophonous roster is testament to that. We feel our brand of war torn black metal is a perfect fit and will add to the legacy. Cacophonous has always had a great reputation for pioneering new and established bands, so in our tenth year of existence it’s the perfect place for Eastern Front to launch EmpirE.
EmpirE is our darkest and most conceptual release to date. Its essence is limitless loss, the notion that empires are literally built upon countless sacrifice and slaughter. The bigger the empire the more blood will have been spilt, the more pain endured, the more wounds inflicted. EmpirE is a focused single vision of death as is conveyed throughout the artwork and is our statement of intent as a band redefined. This concept resonates for the members of Eastern Front, pain and loss having been the band’s fifth member for the last few years so this as catalyst certainly affected the writing when research began, that place of introspective honestly is what birthed the album Empire.
We welcome Marder to the vocal parapet, a true ferocious force of nature and now an essential part of our battalion. During the first studio sessions Marder came in as a guest for the record but from the first scream we knew if the job of vocalist for Eastern Front ever became available again she is the one. It did. She is.”
Recorded and produced by Danny B (Lock Up, Pentagram, Criminal) of HVR Studios, Ipswich, EmpirE features guest vocals from black metal titan Dani Filth.

DEAD BY WEDNESDAY have released “The Surgeon”, the new video directed by Jacques Molle' from their guest vocalist album The Darkest Of Angels, via the EMP Label Group Facebook page here.
“The Surgeon” features unexpected flamenco flair courtesy of Soulfly/Cavalera guitarist Marc Rizzo, who was announced earlier this summer had also joined the band as a full time member.
Says Drummer Christian “Opus” Lawrence, “We know we’ll probably take some shit from the ‘metal’ guys for this track, especially while ‘Live Again’ is still going, and most of the stuff that has been put out from this record so far has been heavier. But it’s such a powerful song, especially right in the middle of so many great brutally heavy tracks. The album really is all over the place, but “The Surgeon” is so powerful and real, and is not only a really amazing showcase of what Rob can do, but also shows a whole other side of the band. We can do heavy. But, yeah, we can do this, too.”
Dead By Wednesday, who will play October 15th at Rock and Shock at The Worcester Palladium with Max and Igor Cavalera, Suicide Silence, Whitechapel, All Hail The Yeti, Combichrist, and more, have released recent teasers for their upcoming full length LP, the first to feature newest members Roy and Rizzo.
The Darkest of Angels features 11 tracks with 11 heavyweight guest vocalists including, Brian Fair (Shadows Fall), Waylon Reavis (A Killer’s Confession, ex-Mushroomhead), AK (Flotsam and Jetsam), John Arch (Fates Warning), Rob Dukes (Fragile Mortals, ex-Exodus), Carley Coma (Candiria), Sean Danielsen (Smile Empty Soul), Paul Stoddard (Diecast), Kris Keyes (formerly Gargauntua Soul), Antony Armageddon (Armageddon) and Ceschi Ramos (Fake Four, Inc.).
Having unleashed their new album, Ages Unsung, on September 16th, Canada’s Chariots Of The Gods have released their new video for “Tusk”, premiering exclusively here at Bravewords.com
“Tusk” is one of ten shredding assaulting tracks on the release recorded at The Grid with legendary Montreal producer Chris Donaldson (Cryptopsy, The Agonist, Beyond Creation, Neuraxis), and featuring a special guest solo from The Agonist's Pascal Jobin on the song “Into Oblivion”.
The band had this to say about the video: "It's been more than 3 years since our first official music video for the song “Tides Of War” was released. A lot has changed since then, sand it's time to reveal our first music video “Tusk” in support of our new record. It was great to have Renaud Jobin, our former vocalist, directing the project and working together again. He has a clear understanding of what the band is about and what we wanted to achieve. We’re really happy with the outcome and can’t wait to do more videos for Ages Unsung.”
Ages Unsung marks the return of Canada's first metal band to tour Cuba after a small hiatus and lineup change to follow up their 2013 debut album Tides Of War, which was produced by music legend Glen Robinson (Queensryche, Gwar, Annihilator).
The band comments on Ages Unsung: "We are very proud to bring you all this new record. It took us longer than expected to get there, but we're sure that after just one listen you'll think it was worth the wait. There were a lot of changes since our last release in early 2013. 3 out of 5 were new members and it definitely had an impact on our music especially with the change of the vocalist. We sometimes went into some unknown territories with this new record, but our producer Chris Donaldson along with the help of Pascal Jobin really guided us through this experimental chapter. It has been a challenging effort, but we've worked hard to climb the mountain that stood before us. Now we know what we're capable of. We can see many more peaks in the distance and as one we will strive forward."

"If You're A Star", the new animated video from Amy Lee, the Grammy Award-winning co-founder and lead vocalist of the rock band EVANESCENCE, can be seen below. The song is taken from Lee's children's album, "Dream Too Much", which was released via Amazon. The LP, which features 12 newly recorded songs, including seven originals and five popular covers, was made available for Prime members in the U.S., U.K., Germany, Austria and Japan starting on September 30 to exclusively stream and enjoy on Prime Music, at no additional cost to their membership. In addition, the album is available for all customers to purchase and download in MP3 format in the U.S., U.K., Germany, Austria, Switzerland, France, Italy, Spain and Japan.
Joining Amazon's growing library of original children's and family music exclusively streaming on Prime Music, "Dream Too Much" is a collection of 12 songs that encourage children and families to sing along together. Inspired by Lee's son and her own musical upbringing, the album features guest appearances by several family members, including backing vocals by her siblings, and instrumentals by both her father and uncle.
"Our focus when developing originals is to provide unique collections that Prime members can't find anywhere else," said Steve Boom, VP of Digital Music for Amazon. "Amy Lee's versatility as an award-winning rock vocalist gave us an opportunity to rethink traditional children's music and create an album that can be enjoyed by every member of the family. We can't wait for Prime members to listen."
"This album is very personal to me," said Amy Lee. "My husband and I had our first baby in 2014 and he has been the center of the inspiration for this children's album. Every song on this album has a story — whether it's an original for our son based on his favorite things or a song my dad used to sing to me when I was a little girl. I can't begin to tell you how fulfilling this project has been and how proud I am to unveil it to listeners on Prime Music."
"Dream Too Much" track listing:

"It's not about pulling from the depths of my soul and finding a secret place that I can only describe through music," Lee told MTV about her songwriting process. "I feel like a lot of what I do with EVANESCENCE is on such a deep level, and it's so important that I get all of myself across. This wasn't about all that crazy emotion. We were allowed to just be musicians and be free and have fun with it."
After a brief hiatus, and the initial success of their first release "1973", Angels In Vein Is back with a brand new single, "Trip Of A Lifetime".
While "1973" was a straight up balls to the wall rocker, "Trip Of A Lifetime" clearly underscores the heavier more aggressive side of the band's nature. Check out the newly released video below.
Original Angels In Vein band members Chris VanDahl (vocals), Todd "Taz" Anthony (guitars), Stacey Blades (guitars), and Troy Patrick Farrell (drums) have been joined by Adam Kury (Candlebox) on bass. Visit Angels In Vein on Facebook for further details.
On October 14th, Texas metallers Seeker will release their new album, Loss, in conjunction with their upcoming tour, starting October 15th. The gritty new video for the album track “Void” can be found below.
“Everything about this video is exactly the vision we had for it,” admits front-man/guitarist Bryce Lucien. “”Void” is our favorite song from the album and this is definitely the most excited that we've ever been about one of our music videos. Filming was really intense, and we got to try a lot of things and take a lot of chances that we think made this into something very special."
Loss was recorded by Zach Ohren, known for his work with Chelsea Grin and Fallujah, and the artwork comes in the form of a hand drawn, custom piece by Farron Loathing (Nails, Huntress).
Lucien continues, “We've spent nearly three years working on this album and can't wait for everyone to hear it. Expect the darkest, fastest, and most chaotic music that we've ever written.”
Loss pre-order packages are available now at VictoryMerch.com and include an instant download of the first single "Rot”. The track is also available now at Apple Music, Spotify, Google Play, Amazon Music and everywhere digital music is available.

South Wales, UK death metal outfit, Venom Prison, have released a video for the track “Devoid”, featured on their upcoming debut full-length album, Animus, due for release in stores and online on October 14th via Prosthetic Records. The clip can be seen below.
Recorded by Tom Dring at Vagrant Recordings (Dragged Into Sunlight, Electric Wizard), Animus is 10 tracks of aural assaulting brutality. Venom Prison tackle subjects such as social Darwinism, misogyny, rape culture and the rejection of God and religion. As seen below, the artwork for Animus was created by German based legendary artist, Eliran Kantor (Testament, Sigh) who worked closely with Larissa to capture some of the themes of the album.
Vocalist Larissa Stupar elaborates: “The album's lyrics capture and portray various forms of fighting an oppressive force. One of them struck Eliran's eye as the most livid out of them all. In Perpetrator Emasculation a rapist is being force-fed his own genitalia. It's not a secret that death metal art and lyrical content often involve violence against women and we liked the idea of turning the tables. That lyrical segment depicts the title and theme of the record very well and the visual execution makes your flesh crawl with vengeance."

Faith No More have released a music video for the track “Cone Of Shame”, from the album Sol Invictus (Ipecac Recordings/Reclamation Recordings). The video, directed by Gore Cvetanovski, can be seen below.
“This is one of those tracks that had to be a video, really, because it lends itself so much to visual imagery,” Bill Gould explains. “Given the song’s sense of Americana, it would have been easy to shoot this in Arizona or New Mexico, but having been to Macedonia several times, there’s a vibe there that I felt wouldn’t be out of place as a backdrop to this song. Goce Cvetanovski, as a director, understood this immediately; he knew exactly what to do with it, and along with an amazing cast, has managed to create something very dark, and beautifully cinematic.”
“Cone Of Shame” was the third song previewed from Sol Invictus, initially debuted at a 2015 Japanese concert. A limited edition “Cone Of Shame” 7” will be available on November 25th with pre-orders available soon.
Sol Invictus, Faith No More’s first new album since 1997’s Album Of The Year, debuted at #6 on the Billboard Top Albums chart and landed at similar spots worldwide (including #2 in Australia, #4 in Germany and #6 in the UK).
"The Impossible", the new video from Swedish metallers EVERGREY, can be seen below. The clip was directed by Patric Ullaeus of Revolver Film Company, who has previously worked with DIMMU BORGIR, LACUNA COIL, IN FLAMES, SONIC SYNDICATE and KAMELOT, among others.
"The Impossible" is taken from EVERGREY's new album, "The Storm Within", which was released on September 9 via AFM.
Says the band: "'The Impossible' is the third of a series of videos we have shot for 'The Storm Within' album. Working very closely with Patric Ullaeus and Revolver Film Company, our aim was to recreate the eerie and desolate sense we had while writing the songs for this — the tenth EVERGREY album. One could say this is our first real attempt at inviting everyone into the cinematic world where we have been in mind and thought throughout this year while writing. We think the imagery speaks for itself. This is just the beginning. The storm is coming."
While this may come off as music industry lip service in honor of the quintet, anyone who has followed EVERGREY will find it impossible not to become completely enthralled by the music on "The Storm Within" within the space of the first listen. The band's trademark progressive, dark and melancholic elements are as strong as ever, the album ranks as one of the most progressive record they've created in terms of performance, but EVERGREY managed to put it in a package that is more accessible and direct compared to any of their nine previous outings. Frontman/founder Tom S. Englund credits EVERGREY's learning-by-doing over the past two decades for the feel of "The Storm Within", in particular their all-important "Hymns For The Broken" record from 2014, which saw a revitalized EVERGREY lineup return with a new energy.
"We went from having no intention of making an album at all to having all the inspiration in the world on 'Hymns For The Broken'," says Englund. "Honestly, we've never felt better. 'The Storm Within' is a massive album. There are no fillers on it and we've never been about that. I think the inspiration speaks for itself."
EVERGREY's lyrics have always matched the depth and intensity of their music, and the concept behind "The Storm Within" is no exception. Englund considers the storyline behind the lyrics to be one of the biggest concepts EVERGREY has ever tackled, based on something that everyone can relate to; having someone, losing them, and having to pick yourself up and move on. He goes so far as to call it the band's first "love" album, but it's not a subject that should be taken lightly in the EVERGREY universe.
"As usual, the lyrics are based on someone or some event in my life," says Englund. "When we were making this album a lot of these relationship issues were going on around me; people losing a partner or a loved one and grieving. 'The Storm Within' is about a search for identity, trying to make yourself full when you feel half empty, and I placed that storyline in an interstellar world."
Musically, "The Storm Within" plays to EVERGREY's trademark prog metal attack but it's loaded with double-take moments. Lead-off track "Distance" is a surprise lead single (and first video), the melodically and lyrically stunning "Passing Through" is destined to become a fan favourite, "My Allied Ocean" is one of EVERGREY's most aggressive songs to date, and the epic title track makes for the perfect album closer in the tradition of Devin Townsend or RUSH. The addition of NIGHTWISH vocalist Floor Jansen on "In Orbit" is the icing on an already filling cake.
"That was actually my wife (Carina Englund) thinking for me," Englund says of Jansen's involvement. "Floor is a personal friend and major EVERGREY fan, so it was over a glass of wine between her and my wife, who asked her if she wanted to do the song. 'In Orbit' is a powerhouse of a song and it would be easy to make it the first single, but it's not the first impression we want to make. That said, it would be stupid not to release it as a single, and if we could get Floor to do the video, that would be a home run."
Speaking of Englund's better half Carina, she reprises her ongoing role as EVERGREY's secret weapon on every album since they began, contributing vocals this time out to the song "The Paradox Of The Flame". In addition, EVERGREY renewed their partnership with critically acclaimed video director Patric Ullaeus for "The Storm Within", fulfilling the band's vision of creating the most cinematic album in their catalogue. Three stellar clips were shot and, in a huge promotional push, are slated to hit the internet leading up to the official album release.
Englund is proud to have "The Storm Within" represent EVERGREY's all-important 20th anniversary, although he freely admits he didn't take note of the landmark occasion until the album was well underway.
"I had a goal when I started EVERGREY; I wanted to make 10 albums and that would fulfill my life plan. That's not something I ever thought I would accomplish. It's quite an amazing thing to be a band for 20 years and release albums that aren't sub-par. When I realized we'd done 10 albums in 20 years, it was mind-boggling. I'm proud to say that out of all the albums we've released over the last 20 years, we've never released one that we didn't feel was the best we could do at that time. That goes for every song, every note, everything. That's why we don't do anything half-assed."

Negură Bunget's new album, ZI (English for 'Day' or 'Say') is the second part of the group's ambitious Transilvanian Trilogy, released on the heels of 2015's celebrated album, TAU (English for 'Your' or 'Thy'), a record accurately hailed as "earthshaking" as it focused on unique native, natural landscapes and the mystique, legends, lore and meanings behind them. The new album will be out September 30th via Prophecy Productions. A new video for "Stanciu Gruiul" is streaming below.
The band recently released stunning, ten minute long "album film", titled simply, ZI. The artistic short, beautifully shot in the Transylvanian forests, blends excerpts from each of the album’s six tracks. View ZI now, below:
In creating its most luminescent recording to date, Negură Bunget has further immersed itself in the traditions and practices of local Transilvanian inhabitants, exploring their connection with nature, and the way this relationship has shaped spiritual horizons. Within this framework, ZI closely examines the core of the most important traditions and rituals connected with the well-being of this community. Life events such as funeral ceremonies, soil tillage, and human growth and evolution (i.e. youth to teen to man to warrior, through to outcast) are spotlighted, in what is undoubtedly some of the most heady, thinking-man's metal produced in recent memory.
Musically, ZI builds upon the hallmarks of Negură Bunget's impressive catalog; the juxtaposition and interweaving of grim black metal elements, ambient soundscapes and acoustic counterparts based on native Romanian folk music, giving life to panoramic atmospheres, intensity and power unequaled in the band's rich discography.
An impressive musical statement and crucial bridge between root-bearing beginning and impending finale of the trilogy (scheduled to be released in early 2018), ZI is a mystical, tension-building recording that mirrors the size and scope of the deep forest fog for which the band is named.
The album was recorded at Negura MUSIC studio January-June 2016. Produced and mixed by Negură Bunget and Mihai ‘Mtz' Neagoe. Mastering by Alin Luculescu. Cover design by Daniel Dorobanțu. Outfit design by Anita Ramona.

THE PRETTY RECKLESS's music video for the band's scorching single "Take Me Down" can be seen below. The track, which recently landed No. 1 on the Rock Radio chart, marking the band's fourth consecutive No. 1 single, is the first single from THE PRETTY RECKLESS's highly anticipated third studio album, "Who You Selling For", due out October 21 on Razor & Tie. The "Take Me Down" video, shot by Meiert Avis, sees frontwoman Taylor Momsen and the band at Water Music Studios in Hoboken, New Jersey, where the album was recorded. Avis has directed videos for artists such as Bob Dylan, Iggy Pop, U2 and Avril Lavigne, among many others throughout his illustrious career, spanning over four decades. The video, shot in black and white with subtle glimpses of red, shows Momsen in top form with her voice as powerful as ever. The '60s-tinged rock guitar and Taylor's soulful, smoky delivery makes "Take Me Down" a complete, blistering track that further cements the band at the forefront of rock.
Asked if "Who You Selling For" is autobiographical, singer Momsen told the Baltimore radio station 98 Rock: "Well, I think all of our records, in one sense, are autobiographical. I mean, I write them, so I'm writing about my experiences and my life and what I have observed and what I know. So I think this coming record is the next evolution of the band, so we're really excited for everyone to hear it. It's very diverse and eclectic, I guess is a good word to describe it. But, of course, it's personal. I mean, I write it."
Regarding whether there are any topics that are "off limits" during the songwriting process, Taylor said: "No. If you limit yourself, you immediately are stunting yourself. You can't limit yourself when it comes to writing. There's nothing that you don't explore."
"Who You Selling For" was produced by THE PRETTY RECKLESS's longtime collaborator Kato Khandwala. The songs were written by Momsen and guitarist Ben Phillips.
Momsen recently told Kerrang! magazine about "Take Me Down": "It's a classic rock 'n' roll tune, which was inspired by the Robert Johnson story of going to the crossroads and selling his soul for rock 'n' roll — which I kind of did in one way. [Laughs] I gave my life to the music; I gave everything else up for it. And it's a simple story about giving your life to something you love so much and you need it so bad that you're willing to sell your soul for it."
THE PRETTY RECKLESS will hit the road this fall in support of the album, beginning October 20, playing major markets in the U.S. before wrapping up on December 6 in Los Angeles.
"The Hunt", the new video from Montreal, Quebec, Canada-based melodic death metallers THE AGONIST, can be seen below. The song is taken from the band's upcoming album, "Five", which will be released on September 30 via and Napalm Records. The CD was recorded with producer Mike Plotnikoff, who has previously worked with BUCKCHERRY, OTEP, HALESTORM, DROWNING POOL, THEORY OF A DEADMAN, 3 DOORS DOWN, FEAR FACTORY, FLYLEAF and SKILLET, among others.
"Five" track listing:
01. The Moment02. The Chain03. The Anchor and The Sail04. The Game05. The Ocean06. The Hunt07. The Raven Eyes08. The Wake09. The Resurrection10. The Villain11. The Pursuit of Emptiness12. The Man Who Fell to Earth13. The Trial14. Take Me to Church (HOZIER cover) (bonus edition only)
Said THE AGONIST guitarist Danny Marino: "We are so anxious to release this record to our fans and the rest of the world!
"This album represents another shift in the evolution of THE AGONIST!
"Vicky [Psarkis, vocals] and I went even deeper into what makes a song really connect.
"I'm very proud of everyone's hard work making this the most diverse and interesting record for us to date!
"It was a great learning experience working with Mike Plotnikoff and fully immersing ourselves in the recording process 24/7.
"Just as much as we are excited to release this album, we are psyched to get back out on the road and connect directly with our fans! Europe gets the first taste before we unleash on North America this November with EPICA." Psarkis added: "Being in THE AGONIST for over two years now and after releasing my debut album with the band and numerous tours, I can say that 'Five' is the record where I believe that we finally found our sound!
"There's a certain confidence that comes with experience and there's something about being fully comfortable that can take your approach towards songwriting to a whole other level.
"Working on the lyrics and vocals on this album was an incredibly natural process.
"Halfway into the pre-production, we realized that a lot of our songs seemed to be telling a story and hearing the album in its entirety is like escaping into our world."
Earlier this year, Cali rockers All Hail The Yeti released Screams From A Black Wilderness, their second studio album based around classic campfire-circle style horror stories and presenting a different story with each track. However, one track on the album, "Mr. Murder", stood by itself and was not part of the album theme. Instead it was written to honour All Hail The Yeti vocalist Connor Garritty's late best friend, Matthew Berube. The track features guest vocals from Brock Lindow of 36 Crazyfists. Now, the brand new video for "Mr. Murder" can be viewed below.
Connor comments: "We are very excited to finally release the video for 'Mr. Murder'. This was shot over the last few tours, compiled with live footage and tour antics while paying tribute to our brother Matthew Berube who passed away in 2015. It also features our dear friend, Brock Lindow of 36 Crazyfists who flew out from Alaska to join us on the Haunted And Damaged tour to perform live and film the video. This song is very difficult for us to perform live given the subject matter, but also brings us great happiness to immortalize our best friend. Hope you all enjoy... Hail 'Mr. Murder'!"
All Hail The Yeti is currently on tour across North America, opening for Max & Iggor Cavalera; a complete listing of tour dates can be found at this location.
Most of THE DEVIL WEARS PRADA's videos have treaded into unusual territories, and, as it tells a powerful love story that transcends time and space, the one for the band's new song "To The Key Of Evergreen" is no exception.
With inspiration from singer Mike Hranica's all-time favorite love story, Vladimir Nabokov's "Lolita", the "To The Key Of Evergreen" video follows a young man who crosses impossible barriers of dimension and time to be with his true, lost love.
The video was directed by Maria Juranic who also directed PRADA's critically acclaimed "First Sight" and "War" videos, as well as DOOMTREE's "Final Boss". Hranica said: "Maria was able to distill into the video the love story's warmth and emotion that is apparent in the song's lyrics. Even her first edit blew us out of the water."
"To The Key Of Evergreen" is taken from THE DEVIL WEARS PRADA's upcoming album, "Transit Blues", which is due out October 7 via Rise Records. The band retreated to both Watertown, Wisconsin and Sawyer, Michigan last winter to write "Transit Blues", for the first time living and creating in a shared, full time space. They re-teamed with "Space" producer Dan Korneff (PIERCE THE VEIL, MOTIONLESS IN WHITE) in the spring of 2016 to record the 11-track effort. Overall, the album reflects themes of transition, separation, and mourning.
To support the release, THE DEVIL WEARS PRADA — Hranica, Jeremy DePoyster (guitar, vocals), Andy Trick (bass), Kyle Sipress (guitar), joined by Giuseppe Capolupo (drums) and Jonathan Gering (keyboards) — will kick off "The Rise Up Tour" on October 11, co-headlining with MEMPHIS MAY FIRE. SILVERSTEIN and LIKE MOTHS TO FLAMES will open all shows.
"The Pitiless", the new video from Swedish melodic death metallers DARK TRANQUILLITY, can be seen below. The song is taken from the band's eleventh album, "Atoma", which will be released on November 4 through Century Media Records.
"The Pitiless" video was filmed during DARK TRANQUILLITY's appearance at Germany's Turock Open Air festival in Essen by director Dirk Behlau.
The band comments: "Selecting the first single from an album as diverse as 'Atoma' is always a hard task, but we felt that 'The Pitiless' gives a good representation of the general vibe of the material. It's fast, melodic and with a sense of urgency that permeates the whole album."
DARK TRANQUILLITY's next video will be filmed by Vesa Ranta (ex-SENTENCED drummer) in Northern Sweden and you can expect something very epic!

The bonus disc features the songs "The Absolute" and "Time Out Of Place" that showcase a very different side of the band. Recorded and mixed by Anders Lagerfors at Nacksving studios, these tracks are among the darkest and most brooding ever from the band — but their experimental nature make them far removed from the usual metal territory. The band explains: "A lot of our songs start out as pieces of music written on piano/keyboards before getting transformed into guitar driven metal. With this recording, we wanted to explore what would happen if we instead let the material take another direction, and we're extremely thrilled by the result."
These songs will exclusively be available on the physical deluxe edition of "Atoma" and won't appear on the digital edition of the album. A vinyl seven-inch single is planned for early 2017. The gatefold vinyl LP will contain the 12 track CD and is available in different vinyl colors:

Mixing duties were handled by David Castillo, known for his work with bands such as KATATONIA, OPETH and CANDLEMASS. The cover artwork was once again created by the band's guitarist Niklas Sundin. The touring cycle for "Atoma" will start with a headline North American run in November, featuring SWALLOW THE SUN, ENFORCER and STARKILL as support acts. A European tour is planned for early 2017.
DARK TRANQUILLITY vocalist Mikael Stanne recently told Kaaos TV about the recording process for the band's upcoming album: "We actually decided to start recording in January, and then we realized, 'Nah, we're not really ready. We need to work on this stuff a bit more.' And then a bit more and then a bit more. And finally, it was, like, 'Fuck it! We need a deadline. We need to finish this.' So finally it happened. But for a while there, I just couldn't see it. Like, 'It's not even close.'"
Asked why it was so difficult for DARK TRANQUILLITY to come up with a new album's worth of material that they were happy with, Mikael said: "This is gonna be our eleventh album, [and] for yourself, you feel, like, 'My God! We don't wanna repeat ourselves. We don't wanna do the same thing over and over again. We wanna do something new.' It has to feel fresh, and it has to feel different. And how do you find the inspiration and stuff like that? It is kind of tough. But we got started, and eventually, it's, like, 'Holy shit! We're on to something here.' And it started feeling really good, and now it feels awesome. Some of the songs are incredible."
Regarding how DARK TRANQUILLITY's recent lineup change affected the songwriting process for the new album, Mikael said: "[Bassist] Martin Henriksson left the band in January, and that was a big blow. I mean, he used to write tons of stuff for the band, but in the last couple of years, he has kind of focused on other things. He's more like a manager for he band — he arranges all the festivals and trips and everything like that — and he just kind of fell out of love with touring and writing and playing, so now he's a full-on manager and stuff."
Mikael also talked about how the songwriting process was different this time around. He said: "Anders [Jivarp, drums] has written most of the songs, I think, or most of the material, and then Martin [Brändström, keyboards] and Anders kind of structured it and put it together. And then Niklas wrote two or three songs, and Martin [Brändström] wrote two or three songs, stuff like that. It's becoming really diverse. Like some of the stuff that Anders has done is really different, and the stuff that Niklas has done is really different and the stuff that Martin [Brändström] has done is really, really kind of out there in a way. So I'm super excited. The album is shaping up to be fantastic."
METALLICA's official video for the song "Moth Into Flame" can be seen at Metallica.com. The clip, which is also available below, was directed by Tom Kirk (MUSE).
"Moth Into Flame" is taken from METALLICA's tenth studio album, "Hardwired...To Self-Destruct", which is scheduled for a November 18 release via Blackened Recordings. The long-awaited follow-up to 2008's "Death Magnetic" consists of two discs, containing a dozen songs and nearly 80 minutes of music.
"Hardwired...To Self-Destruct" was produced by Greg Fidelman with frontman James Hetfield and drummer Lars Ulrich. The band recorded the disc at its own studio.
Ulrich spoke with Rolling Stone in a recent interview about the lyrical themes on the "Hardwired...To Self-Destruct". He revealed: "There's a lot of dark stuff about relationships. Not just with other people, but the hidden personalities within."
Hetfield told The Pulse Of Radio which songs on the new record contained some of his favorite lyrics. "You know, for me, lyrically some of the favorite, 'Moth Into Flame', I like 'Am I Savage' and boy, I really like 'Dream No More', which is also kind of another Cthulhu reference but in a very different sense. [Laughs]."
Ulrich also said about the disc's musical style: "Most of the songs are simpler. We introduce a mood and we stick to it, rather than songs we've done where one riff happens and we go over here and then over there and becomes a journey through all these different soundscapes. The songs are more linear."
METALLICA will play a special intimate show at Webster Hall in New York City on Tuesday, September 27. The band will then appear at Neil Young's Bridge School Benefit in Mountain View, California on October 22 and October 23.

Austrian folk metal band, Drescher, will release their new album, Steinfeld, on November 18th via Napalm Records. A music video for the album track “A Bissl Glick” can be found below.
Steinfeld means “field of stones”, but is it as heavy as it sounds? Oh yes, it is! This is something really extraordinary. Ushering in a new kind of music, a new style and a new experience Drescher’s music provides it’s listener with authentic Austrian metal in both language and sound. As long as they’ve been cranking their amplifiers, Drescher has produced genuine tunes driven by the music within.
