Minneapolis, MN death metal band, Buried Above Ground, recently released their new full-length album, Birth, to the masses. This past Friday, the band re-released the album as a deluxe edition with 10 extra minutes of music. You can order the deluxe edition via their merch store, and stream the entire deluxe edition of the album for a limited time via the YouTube video below.
In support of the Birth deluxe edition release, Buried Above Ground's brand new, terrifyingly sinful music video for the single "The Evil One”, can be seen below. This video is NSFW - be warned!
"The Evil One" video was directed by Jake Woodbridge, with cinematography credited to Anthony Cousins and lighting coordination by Sam Goldberger. The video was filmed in the abandoned basement of a former brewery in St. Paul, MN.
"Basically the lesson here is... humans make terrible pets," jests guitarist DJ Gunnarson. "We are extremely grateful for the work Jake and his team did in bringing this video to life. We had a loose concept in mind, and they really helped shape it into the video it is now."
Much like "The Evil One", Buried Above Ground's new album Birth is a dark and heavy emotional ride, not devoid of horror and evil. Check out the band's first music video from the record, "I Am God", which has already tallied nearly 60,000 views:
The members of Buried Above Ground initially met while in college at McNally Smith College of Music in St. Paul, MN. Guitarist DJ Gunnarson - who co-wrote the album Manticore and Other Horrors by Cradle of Filth and was also a founding member of the band Ghost Bath - initially approached vocalist Eric McMahon about starting a band. The two created the band Thee Massacre and immediately released an album and started touring. While out on tour, DJ and Eric met drummer Sam Flach and bassist Coz, who played their respective instruments in a band called Thira. A short time after the tour, the two bands decided to merge some of its members to create the current incarnation of Buried Above Ground.
Since forming, Buried Above Ground has shared the stage with bands such as Behemoth, Thy Art is Murder, Goatwhore, Fallujah, Dying Fetus, Carnifex, Within The Ruins, Last Ten Seconds of Life, The Faceless and more.
Stay tuned for more coming from Buried Above Ground soon.

Florida metallers TRIVIUM have released a performance video for the song "Pillars Of Serpents", which is featured on the upcoming reissue of their debut album, "Ember To Inferno". Check it out below.
TRIVIUM has spent the past decade-plus building its reputation and steadily rising to prominence, becoming one of the main torchbearers of heavy metal in the modern era. With millions of albums sold globally and numerous world tours (from Ozzfest, Mayhem and Download to opening for METALLICA, BLACK SABBATH, and IRON MAIDEN to extensive headline treks), TRIVIUM began their journey in 2003 with their debut album, "Ember To Inferno". The record quickly captured the attention of the band's earliest fans as well as the ears of A&R reps at Roadrunner Records, who rapidly signed the band and went on to release their watershed album "Ascendancy" in 2005. "Ember To Inferno" was the catalyst for what was to come and it has been out of print for several years… until now.
The band and 5B Artist Management have partnered with Cooking Vinyl to re-release the album, along with a deluxe edition that includes 13 additional tracks that have never been previously available yet have earned evasive legend status among the diehards, on December 2. It's a true treasure trove of material that will delight the staunchest TRIVIUM fans and beyond.
"The purpose of this release is to show the very early beginnings of TRIVIUM — perhaps an era unbeknownst to most listeners of the band," said TRIVIUM vocalist and guitarist Matt Heafy. "To look back at 'Ember' as the starting point of TRIVIUM becoming recognized worldwide is a staggering thought for me, considering I was 16-17 years old during the writing and recording of the record.
"As a kid, I always said the 'goal' was to be in a massive metal band. I don't think I actually knew what it would mean to have fans in different parts of the world, and I still can't believe people care so much that they actually want to hear the music that pre-dates our Roadrunner years. To this day, I am still completely blown away that people are singing words to songs I wrote when I was 16 years old. It's an amazing feeling."
"Ember To Inferno" will be released in four configurations, with the deluxe editions containing the band's early demos "Ruber" (a.k.a. the Red Demo), "Caeruleus" (a.k.a. the Blue Demo) and "Flavus" (a.k.a. the Yellow Demo). Fans can pre-order all formats online here.

The CD included eight re-recorded classic songs from the 1995-2006 era, plus four brand new songs specially written for this record and a special bonus DVD including archive footage from the '80s and brand new interviews.
Regarding the PRETTY MAIDS lyric-writing process, frontman Ronnie Atkins told Myglobalmind in a 2013 interview: "Well, it's often that the atmosphere of the song sort decides which direction the lyrics will take. I'd always preferred to write about something that most people could relate to, not being political in trying to take people in any direction or inspire them to. But there's so much shit going on in this world that there's plenty to write about. But let me state I'm no, and don't pretend to be some sort of, Dylan or Lennon! [Laughs] After all, we've always seen ourselves and what we do as merely entertainment and not pretending to be highly intellectual."

This song is a classic ode to the supremacy of the blackest of metal. “Where Splendid Corpses Are Towering Towards The Sun” ravishes straight through the high hopes of a self-proclaimed righteous people and their plastic vanity. And at the triumph of their death, scorched by the sun of their own divinity, in the serene mist from their ashen skulls, we dance.”

Killer Bee are back with a new long-awaited album, Eye In The Sky, out now. It has been over two years since their last release, and the wait has proven to be worth it, as this new record is quintessential Killer Bee. The writing team of Rönnblom / Frank has done it again, as they deliver their well-honed 70's style of rock - a la Led Zeppelin, Deep Purple, and the Scorpions.
Well known for their back to basic raw sound, Killer Bee have not swayed from their trademark style. And all the expected ingredients are included - hard and heavy riffs, signature vocals, and of course, the classic Hammond sound, which can be sampled below.
“’Get On Board’ went through a few vocal arrangements before I got the feel I wanted,” explains singer/producer Brian “Bee” Frank. “Due to the length of pauses in the recording process I was able to take a step back and look at things from different perspectives. Really glad I had that time to give the song the all it deserved.”
And Frank also discussed the song’s video (streaming below): “Being from Canada I did not really grasp what the cold war meant, but after living in Sweden for 26 years one starts to realize how very close the threat at the time was. In the making of this video we did it at an old abandoned cold war era - first strike airforce base. The base was an array of runways interacting with each other in literally the middle of nowhere. It was an experience for me to try and imagine how it could have been...it made me reflect on my first weeks here in 1990. We were driving in town and instead of a Deer Crossing sign I saw Tank Crossing signs (lol). Wow what a culture shock for a guy like me from good ole safe Toronto, Canada.”
Since the early ‘90s, the Bees have been delivering the sting…and now the hive has let the swarm loose! The last couple of years have not been without trials and tribulations though - member changes, injuries, and production hold-ups have made this era a roller coaster ride for the band. However, the band managed to persevere, as 2015 saw Killer Bee embark on an extensive US tour (covering over 40 cities in no less than 35 states), and the future is only looking brighter.
Radio programmers worldwide have begun to take notice, as Killer Bee are receiving positive responses to their music - climbing on playlists everywhere. And alongside the new release, Killer Bee are currently in the planning stages for touring both Europe and North America.
Speaking about highlights from the recording sessions, Brian "Bee” Frank the lead singer and producer of the new record states, “‘Shout It Out’ is the ultimate 70's feel with the screaming Jon Lord/Hammond playing by Denny DeMarchi. I remember when he was recording that solo. One take and it was done. At the end Denny said, ‘I can do it better,’ I said ‘No! It's done!’ What a great moment. During the 90's, Anders and I had a writing system...he played I sang. A song done normally it took no more than 30 minutes to get a song done. The last three albums have had a slightly different approach but on the writing of ‘The Fight,’ it was a magical moment. Back to the old school formula. 15 minutes.”

BEASTO BLANCO, the band fronted by long time ALICE COOPER bassist Chuck Garric, will release its self-titled, full-length second album on November 25 via Rat Pak Records. "Beasto Blanco" is the follow-up to the band's critically acclaimed 2013 release "Live Fast, Die Loud" (Rat Pak Records), which was endorsed by the likes of movie actor Johnny Depp, IRON MAIDEN drummer Nicko McBrain, producer Bob Ezrin, and many more. The latest effort, which was produced by Ryan Greene (ALICE COOPER, LITA FORD, MR. BIG), features 11 new tracks and an amped-up cover version of Alice's hit song "Feed My Frankenstein" that also features Alice's daughter and BEASTO bandmate Calico Cooper.
The official video for the first single from "Beasto Blanco", the band's version of "Feed My Frankenstein", can be seen below. The song is also being played at 15,000 AMC, Regal, Cinemark and NCM movie theaters in the United States throughout the month of November.
"I've been performing that song with Alice Cooper for years," says Garric. "I talked to Alice and said, 'I'm thinking about covering 'Feed My Frankenstein' on the BEASTO BLANCO record.' Alice responded with, 'I think that would be a great idea. I think you guys will really knock it out of the ballpark.'" Influenced by bands such as WHITE ZOMBIE and MOTÖRHEAD, BEASTO BLANCO's all new 12-song, sophomore effort is a potent mix of heavy riffs, driving bass and melodic choruses. "I'm very proud of this release" says Chuck Garric, "This new album showcases the bands evolution as songwriters and our unity as a musical force." Calico adds: "This record is like a baseball bat to the chest that you want more and more of." The track listing for "Beasto Blanco" is: 01. Buried Angels02. Grind03. Feed My Frankenstein (ALICE COOPER cover)04. Carcosa05. Death Rattle06. Dark Matter07. Sadhana08. I Rise09. Machine Girl10. Honey11. Blind Drive12. Damnation BEASTO BLANCO will embark on a 2016-2017 fall/winter tour starting in November. The trek will include a string of U.S headline dates, as well as an arena tour of Europe with German hard rock heavyweights BÖHSE ONKELZ. They return home to the U.S for another run of headline dates that will conclude with performances on the 2017 Monsters Of Rock cruise in February.
"Confessions", the new video from Swedish/British modern metallers SONIC SYNDICATE, can be seen below. The song is the title track of the band's fifth full-length studio album, which was released on October 14 via Despotz. The CD was recorded at Purple Skull Music with producer Kritoffer Folin and is said to be "the band's most diverse and unique work to date."
The "Confessions" video, directed by Bröderna Blom, features the band in a "live" situation with intercut scenes of people from carious walks of life, a female boxer, a model, a nun, a businessman and a young girl, amongst others, revealing and confessing their sins to the world.
Vocalist Nathan J. Biggs describes the song as "something we all have, and we all have to do. We've all got talents, and we've all got sins... Just believe in yourself, bare all, and stop wasting time. Then you're not gonna have regrets. It's also about being frustrated with people who make excuses and not the change they want to be. We're all guilty of this, but 'Confessions' is a wake-up call to snap out of it."
SONIC SYNDICATE kicks off a European tour on October 25 in Hamburg, Germany with AMARANTHE and SMASH INTO PIECES. The tour also makes stops in The Netherlands, Belgium, France, Spain, Switzerland, Austria, Czech Republic, Hungary, Italy and Slovakia before wrapping up on November 20 at Simm City in Vienna, Austria.
Asked how the new CD compares to SONIC SYNDICATE's previous releases, Biggs recently said: "I think we always make a conscious effort to not repeat ourselves, definitely."
Added Robin Sjunnesson: "And we say it all the time, but that's how it is: we never repeat ourselves. Every album is like a new experiment for us. But this one is definitely a completely new sound."
Continued Nathan: "This one's unique in the fact that we literally haven't decided anything or limited ourselves to anything. We have literally just gone from whatever the hell we wanna write, whatever feeling it is."
Said Robin: "We wrote almost a completely full album, and we were kind of pretending, 'Yeah, this is good. This is good.' But you could feel it: 'Nah, it's not there. It's not where we wanna take this.' So we basically just trashed it."
Nathan: "We got our own studio and we did pre-production, and we had at least ten finished songs. We liked some of them, and some of them were really heavy and really rocking, but we were just like, 'It's not quite there. It's not good enough. Is this what we wanna do?' And we scrapped the whole record. And then we literally just wrote from the heart, with no limitations on genre or anything."
Robin: "Exactly. We kind of agreed: 'Let's just write whatever comes now.' Like, 'What's on the fingertips? What do we wanna do right now?' And I guess that's also why the new album is… We all love it."
Nathan: "I've never enoyed recording an album this much before — just pure fun from our side."
Robin: "We're trying out new stuff that we haven't tried before, and that's fun."
SONIC SYNDICATE last year parted ways with longtime bassist Karin Axelsson and replaced her with Michel "Miche" Bärzén (DEGRADEAD).
"Long Time Gone", the new video from Glenn Hughes, can be seen below. The track is taken from Hughes's new solo album, "Resonate", which will be released on Friday, November 4 via Frontiers Music Srl.
From album opener "Heavy" to the very last chords of the closer "Long Time Gone", "Resonate" promises to be a contender for "Album Of The Year" on many a list. It features his live solo band members, Søren Andersen (guitars and co-producer), Pontus Engborg (drums) and newcomer to his band, Lachy Doley (keyboards), in addition to longtime friend Chad Smith (RED HOT CHILI PEPPERS), who joined them in the studio for the opening and closing numbers.
"Resonate" will be available in two configurations: regular CD and deluxe edition including one bonus track, "Nothing's The Same", and a DVD featuring a "making of" album documentary, "Heavy" (music video), and "Long Time Gone" (music video). Vinyl release will be made available via Frontiers's label partners Soulfood Music.
"Resonate" track listing:
01. Heavy02. My Town03. Flow04. Let It Shine05. Steady06. God Of Money07. How Long08. When I Fall09. Landmines10. Stumble & Go11. Long Time Gone12. Nothing's The Same (deluxe edition bonus track)
Glenn told Billboard.com about "Resonate": "It's possibly the heaviest record I've ever made. I don't want to confuse it with horns-up heavy; it's not metal. But it's definitely fucking heavy. It's dense. It's dark. There's some aggression on this record. Every bloody track is begging to be played live."
While he was in the studio recording his new album, Hughes talked to Denmark's Metalized magazine about the musical diversity that has been his trademark throughout his four-decade-plus career.
"I never make the same album twice," he said. "Go back to the first TRAPEZE album. The second was different and the third one was different. And then you go to 'Burn', and 'Stormbringer' was different from that, and then 'Come Taste The Band'. You got HUGHES/THRALL and that was different from DEEP PURPLE. And then you go to 'Seventh Star' with Tony Iommi. That was different from HUGHES/THRALL. And then the blues album and then the Glenn solo albums."
He continued: "Although some of [my albums] have been very, very soulful and very, very funky, the key for me — as I am an Englishman that grew up in the West Midlands — is rock. But when I moved to America in the early seventies, I started to listen to what came out of Detroit. And I met Stevie Wonder. He became a very, very close friend and still is. He became my mentor.
"I need people to know that my success has come from the foundation of rock music. As much as I love THE BEATLES, Otis Redding and Stevie Wonder, when you think of Glenn Hughes, you think of the guy who plays bass and sings in any register."
Hughes added: "I am friends with a lot of famous rock stars and they are one genre. I wouldn't say who, but they have a one-genre-dimensional sound. You know it's them. And you know it's me because of my voice.
"I have been cursed and blessed with the ability to switch very quickly from rock to soul to funk to acoustic and almost into jazz — without scaring people. When you mix those ingredients, that's Glenn Hughes.
"This will be an album that is entirely Glenn Hughes music. For that reason, it is an important album."
Vitja is the Russian equivalent to the first name Viktor which translates to “winner”. After already creating an underground buzz in their native Germany with their album Echos and the Your Kingdom EP, the four-piece from Cologne and Muenster is set out to win over the rest of the world.

Vitja have just finished the recordings of their sophomore album, Digital Love, which is set for a release in early 2017. They are currently crushing European clubs on the Taste Of Anarchy tour with Nasty, Aversions Crown and Malevolence before heading out with Callejon and Rogers in December.

"Evil By Nature" features a guest appearance by CANNIBAL CORPSE vocalist George "Corpsegrinder" Fisher.
Commented EKTOMORF guitarist/vocalist Zoltán Farkas: "We are friends with the CANNIBAL CORPSE guys since a long time. Last year in November, I spoke to George about doing a song together. The recent Budapest show of CANNIBAL CORPSE then was the perfect opportunity to meet and record his parts. So I took small home recording studio gear with me and recorded vocals with George in the dressing room before their show. It was fun and turned out killer! The song's title is 'Evil By Nature' and you can be sure that it will smash your face!"
Former ACCEPT guitarist Herman Frank will release a new solo album, "The Devil Rides Out", on November 18 via AFM. It will be made available as a CD, limited digipak (including a bonus track), limited silver vinyl and limited box set. The CD was produced by Frank and mixed by Charlie Bauerfeind (BLIND GUARDIAN, HAMMERFALL, HELLOWEEN). It combines Frank's masterful guitar work with the raspy vocals of Swedish powerhouse Rick Altzi (MASTERPLAN, AT VANCE), the powerful drumming of Andre Hilgers (ex-RAGE) and the talent of Michael Müller (JADED HEART) on bass.

The official video for the song "Ballhog Zone" can be seen below.
Without any doubt, Frank is one of the most prestigious German metal guitarists of the past 30 years. His dynamic compositions with their raging riffs, hooks and intelligent virtuoso solos have graced not only the works of the German cult band VICTORY, which he founded in the mid-Eighties, and MOON'DOC, but also as a member of the legendary ACCEPT in the early Eighties, appearing on a number of important songs on their classic "Balls To the Wall" album before returning to the band in 2005 and staying for another nine years.
Shortly before his exit from ACCEPT was made official in December 2014, Herman gave an interview to Metalholic in which he spoke about his frustrations at being unable to contribute to the band with his songwriting. He said: "[I've been writing] songs [for] 30 years, since I began my music career [in] a school band. And it's a shame that I can't show my talent [by] writing a couple of ACCEPT songs. I really would like to write some songs [for ACCEPT], but Peter [Baltes, ACCEPT bassist] and Wolf [Hoffmann, ACCEPT guitarist] decided, 'We are ACCEPT and we wanna do it [on] our own.' So why should I stop, 'cause I'm playing in ACCEPT, to write songs? I wrote songs for VICTORY, for HAZZARD, for MOON'DOC, for my two solo albums… for so many bands, you know. It's normal that I don't stop [writing songs]. PANZER and all these other bands give me a chance to just put out my music, which is in my head, you know?!"
"Take Me Back", the new video from RIOT V, the new band featuring the remaining members of legendary metal pioneers RIOT, can be seen below. The song is taken from RIOT V's debut album, "Unleash The Fire", which was released in October 2014 via SPV/Steamhammer. The CD marked the first release from RIOT without the late, great founding guitarist Mark Reale, who passed away in early 2012 and was limited on his participation on 2011's reunion album "Immortal Soul" because of his health issues. The band was encouraged at the request of Mark and the Reale estate to forge ahead in his honor and has dedicated this new offering to him.
The band commented: "We have played many shows all around the world in support of 'Unleash The Fire'. As we take a break to work on our new album, we are releasing this video as a way to say thank you to all our friends for their support. Thanks also to everyone that submitted photos. Shine on!"
RIOT V recently played number of dates with original "Fire Down Under" guitarist Rick Ventura. The trek included appearance at the Loud Park festival in Japan in early October.
"Unleash The Fire" promised to please fans of the "Thundersteel" era of RIOT, as main songwriter and longtime Reale music collaborator Don Van Stavern did much of the writing, as he did on "Thundersteel" and "The Privilege Of Power". Don is joined by longtime RIOT bandmate, songwriter and Reale's guitar partner of over 20 years, Mike Flyntz, to create what they feel is something they are proud to call a RIOT record. The RIOT V lineup is completed by powerhouse vocalist extraordinaire Todd Michael Hall (BURNING STARR, REVERENCE), Frank Gilchriest (VIRGIN STEELE, RIOT's "Army Of One") and former Mike Flyntz guitar student and resident shredder Nick Lee.

French metallers Gorod have unveiled a brand new video for the track "The Mystic Triad Of Artistry", taken from their latest album, A Maze Of Recycled Creeds.
Director Gautier Roscoet comments: “This video clip is a tribute to the basics of performance: drama. It was shot in Théâtre de La Couronne (Charentes). Neither staging nor visible cut were used in this kind of sequence-shot which purpose was to insert multimedia references. There is a constant play and marriage with classic and more contemporary allusions. The gesture of Chaplin and Keaton are the starting point for the set design and the various comic devices, adding the frenzy of Warner Bros cartoons. One notice also references to video games like Street Fighter 2 and Guitar Hero. We can also point the use of onomatopoeia image like the Batman series with Adam West, the flying kiss from Roger Rabbit and others... The guru appearance at the end of the clip is a caricatural illustration of the Rosicrician Order. His violent elimination reflects the lyrics and the excessive speech of Joséphin Péladan, thus particularly derided by the band members. In the end, the storyline is fairly simple : Julien (Gorod's singer known as “Nutz”, which fits perfectly to his role) plays a terrible troublemaker who can't help annoying his fellows. At the climax of chaos between all band members, Barby (the bassist), slays the guru to put an end to the troubles and restore friendship.”
According to a press release, A Maze Of Recycled Creeds, the near-fifty-minute-long work of diabolic genius, is based on unfathomable fantasies created by various secret societies and mystical orders, and spews forth eleven tracks of arthritis-inducing riffs, spiraling, harmony-rich fret decompositions, surgically-precise time shifts, blasts, brawn and an incessant barrage of malicious vocal onslaughts.
Elaborates the band of the record's concept, "A Maze Of Recycled Creeds speaks of the fraternity of the Rose-Croix, specifically via the works of Sâr Merodack Joséphin Péladan (1858 -1918), a peculiar 'guru' claiming to have divine origins from Assyria..."

CANDLEBOX's music video for the song "Supernova" can be seen below. The track is taken from the band's sixth studio album, "Disappearing In Airports", which was released on April 22 via Pavement Entertainment.
With the band winding down 2016 with a U.S. West Coast tour, and preparing for their U.K. tour this January, it's no wonder the new video for "Supernova" is dedicated to capturing CANDLEBOX onstage.
"We wanted a video that represents us, who we are, what we’re like on and off the road," says CANDLEBOX vocalist Kevin Martin. "This video gives the viewer a special insight into CANDLEBOX and the personalities of each member, but it also shows just how special our bond is with our music and how much we love playing live."
Martin continues: "'Supernova' is about that moment when you get absolutely blown away by a lover. When there's no turning back; you know you're totally blown away. It's provocative and personal and written from my own experience, just like the other songs on the album. I've only ever been able to write about what I know — my experiences, good or bad, I've written about them."
"Disappearing In Airports" showcases the group's introspective and poetically candid songwriting with its signature musical immediacy. CANDLEBOX worked with producers Carson Slovak and Grant McFarland (AUGUST BURNS RED, EVERCLEAR, RIVERS OF NIHIL), cutting the record at Think Loud Studios in York, Pennsylvania. With vocalist Kevin Martin, Dave Krusen on drums, Adam Kury on bass and the addition of guitarists Mike Leslie and Brian Quinn, the recommitment to creating music that is "pissed and urgent" as well as bringing a new energy to the live show is at this record's core.
"I want to take CANDLEBOX into a new world, and this record is very different, very diverse for us," says Martin. "It's about growth and pushing the band in the direction for a new audience."
