Taken from their long-awaited new album, Voices, the video features live footage from the band's recent performance at KL Metalcamp festival, which took place on May 1st in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

The new music video and album are the first to feature Wormrot’s new drummer, Vijesh, who brings a fresh and fitting sound to one of the most original bands in the grindcore scene   Combined with Rasyid's godlike grind riffage and Arif's distinct vocals switching effortlessly between deep guttural growls and rasping screams, the band's third full-length goes far beyond expectations from a band that already can seemingly do no wrong.

TRAP THEM Release “Luster Pendulums” Music Video; North American Tour Announced

Trap Them will release their new album, Crown Feral, on September 23rd via Prosthetic Records. The band's fifth full-length, and third for Prosthetic Records, features 10 chest-pounding tracks that feature the group's famed blend of metal, d-beat punk and darkened hardcore.

The band have released a video for the album track “Luster Pendulums”. Guitarist Brian Izzi comments: "We wrote this song as a nod to mid 90s era Carcass, Grave, and Napalm Death mixed with the usual Trap Them intensity. The artwork for the video is inspired by those old Nihilist demo covers and was cleverly drawn earlier this year by Mattias Frisk. Enjoy!"

Once again, the band enlisted unofficial fifth member Kurt Ballou (Converge, Skeletonwitch) at GodCity Studios in Salem, Mass. to capture their unrestrained and unapologetic sound. The album features cover art from Mattias Frisk.

Tracklisting:

“Kindred Dirt”
“Hellionaires”
“Prodigala”
“Luster Pendulums”
“Malengines Here, Where They Should Be”
“Speak Nigh”
“Twitching In The Auras”
“Revival Spines”
“Stray Of The Tongue”
“Phantom Air”

“Hellionaires”:

Trap Them have also announced plans for a headlining North American East Coast tour with direct support from Nashville heavy hitters Yautja. The tour will kick off shortly after the band returns from their recently announced European tour with Okkultokrati andl labelmates Venom Prison.

MOTOROWL Release Music Video For “The Highest City, Pt. 1”

Psychedelic doom rockers, Motorowl, have released a video for the track “The Highest City, Pt. 1”, featured on their upcoming debut album, Om Generator. The new clip can be found below.

Created with pure passion and incredible, mature song-writing skills, the band's debut, Om Generator, was co-produced by Fabian Hildebrandt (of label mates Deserted Fear) and the mighty Dan Swanö took over mix and mastering duties.

Dan Swanö: "Amazing mixture of stoner and 70's hard rock executed with finesse. I had an amazing time mixing their songs, that always seemed to take a turn towards the unexpected."

Fabian Hildebrandt: “It does say something, when a band goes from a rancid rehearsal room in Gera straight away to touring with Bombus, and even manages to convince a label as renowned as Century Media. I still remember vividly, how they asked me to record their album. Initially, I was rather critical, but after I saw them live I immediately knew that I HAD TO. Stunning… extremely young, no idea about nothing, yet insanely talented! Motorowl are a true rock band and I am curious to see, where the future journey of Daniel, Martin, Max, Tim and Vinz will take them.”

Tracklisting:

“Om Generator”
“The Highest City, Pt. 1”
“The Highest City, Pt. 2”
“Old Mans Maze”
“One and Zero”
“Beloved Whale”
“White Horse”
“Spiritual Healing”

Ireland’s PSYKOSIS Premier “Diller Killer” Music Video

Off the back of a blistering performance last weekend at Bloodstock Festival, Irish thrashers Psykosis today unveil a new music video for “Driller Killer”, the first single from their debut full length album, Welcome To The Psyko Ward.

Frontman Grant Walsh comments, "We chose “Driller Killer” as our single because it shows a lot of playing styles and is a good example of what the album is sounding like. It's fast, catchy, funky and thrashy, you can bang your head, sing along or dance to it. The song is written about the serial Killer Jeffery Dalmer, who used to drill into his victims brains and pour eroding acid into the drill hole to make his victim a lifeless drone to obey his every command, so we thought that was pretty cool topic, and started writing “Driller Killer”.”

Hailing from Dublin, Ireland, Psykosis formed in 2008 after a booze fuelled binge and desire to inject some good fun into the rich but sombre Irish metal scene. The band began honing their sound on the stages of Dublin and progressed to headliner gigs and support slots with internationally recognized acts such as D.R.I., Sacred Reich, Evile, Blaze Bayley and Gama Bomb.

The band got their first break in mainland UK when they were invited to Bloodstock Open Air in the summer of 2014. Their performance has gone down in the history books of the festival as during their set Psykosis and their crew threw out hundred's of bottles of home brew just prior to performing the song “Beach Party”, a song which the band were more than happy to share their inflatable beach toys with the appreciative crowd for. From that moment the band have been inviting folk all across the UK to their fun filled shows as well as having set sail and ventured to far flung places (from little old Ireland at least) such as Metal Days in Slovenia and more.

Last weekend saw the band return to Bloodstock, with twice as much beer and twice as many inflatables, and coincidentally, one of those inflatable whales was spotted days later in the crowd as Gojira's played their epic, “Flying Whales”. Things are certainly looking up for the Irish lads.

Welcome To The Psyko Ward is set for release on September 16th and is available to order here.

Watch the official video for "Hardwired" below. The band debuted the track in a Facebook Live broadcast from their studio in San Rafael, California, where Ulrich and bassist Robert Trujillo talked about the upcoming album. Ulrich also revealed that a METALLICA pop-up store will launch in Minneapolis, where the band is scheduled to play a concert on Saturday. "The album's not actually finished," Ulrich said. "It will be done in the next week or so."

Ulrich recently spoke to Citizens Of Humanity magazine about the musical direction of the group's long-awaited follow-up to 2008's "Death Magnetic". He said: "It definitely sounds like METALLICA. It's probably a little less frenetic than the last record. The last one [producer] Rick Rubin really encouraged us to for the first time be inspired by our past. It was the first time we sort of looked in the rearview mirror. This time around it's a little bit of a different thing."

Ulrich continued: "We're not working with Rick, we're working with the engineer from the last record, who's producing, Greg Fidelman. So there's some of the same production elements at play, but we're expanding a little bit on the sonics. It's probably a bit more of a diverse record than the last one. It's exciting, but I don't have quite the perspective yet."

Ulrich also addressed the eight-year gap between studio albums, the longest of the band's career, by saying: "I think what's happened is our families and our domestic responsibilities are so important to us now, so we just have a new model. We're sort of constantly doing something but never to the point of the needle going in the red, but METALLICA really hasn't sort of shut down since around 2005, and it's a model that works for us."

He added: "We never work at 110 percent to the point where we drive ourselves nuts, but are sort of constantly working at two-thirds, you know — when we make the record we're writing and we're recording, but we're doing it incrementally. There's always stuff going on. It's the way we like it. It keeps us engaged."

Ulrich told The Pulse Of Radio not long ago that METALLICA no longer wants to devote large chunks of time to any one project. "You know, METALLICA, in order for it to be true and pure and honest, has to be fun," he said. "And so the days of, you know, writing for a year and then recording for a year and then going on the road for three years — those kind of endlessly long cycles — they're just behind us. I don't think we have the stamina to do anything for those elongated periods of time any longer."

METALLICA worked on the new disc on and off over the past few years, in between other projects that included a series of short tours, a film, the restoration of some of their early albums and other projects.

Video Premiere: EVERGREY's 'The Paradox Of The Flame'

"The Paradox Of The Flame", the new video from Swedish metallers EVERGREY, can be seen below. The clip was directed by Patric Ullaeus of Revolver Film Company, who has previously worked with DIMMU BORGIR, LACUNA COIL, IN FLAMES, SONIC SYNDICATE and KAMELOT, among others.

"The Paradox Of The Flame" is taken from EVERGREY's new album, "The Storm Within", which will be released on September 9 via AFM.

Says the band: "'The Paradox Of The Flame' is the second of a series of videos we have shot for 'The Storm Within' album.

"Working very closely with Patric Ullaeus and Revolver Film Company, our aim was to recreate the eerie and desolate sense we had while writing the songs for this, the tenth EVERGREY album. One could say this is our first real attempt at inviting everyone into the cinematic world where we have been in mind and thought throughout this year while writing. We think the imagery speaks for itself. This is just the beginning. The storm is coming."

While this may come off as music industry lip service in honor of the quintet, anyone who has followed EVERGREY will find it impossible not to become completely enthralled by the music on "The Storm Within" within the space of the first listen. The band's trademark progressive, dark and melancholic elements are as strong as ever, the album ranks as one of the most progressive record they've created in terms of performance, but EVERGREY managed to put it in a package that is more accessible and direct compared to any of their nine previous outings. Frontman/founder Tom S. Englund credits EVERGREY's learning-by-doing over the past two decades for the feel of "The Storm Within", in particular their all-important "Hymns For The Broken" record from 2014, which saw a revitalized EVERGREY lineup return with a new energy.

"We went from having no intention of making an album at all to having all the inspiration in the world on 'Hymns For The Broken'," says Englund. "Honestly, we've never felt better. 'The Storm Within' is a massive album. There are no fillers on it and we've never been about that. I think the inspiration speaks for itself."

EVERGREY's lyrics have always matched the depth and intensity of their music, and the concept behind "The Storm Within" is no exception. Englund considers the storyline behind the lyrics to be one of the biggest concepts EVERGREY has ever tackled, based on something that everyone can relate to; having someone, losing them, and having to pick yourself up and move on. He goes so far as to call it the band's first "love" album, but it's not a subject that should be taken lightly in the EVERGREY universe.

"As usual, the lyrics are based on someone or some event in my life," says Englund. "When we were making this album a lot of these relationship issues were going on around me; people losing a partner or a loved one and grieving. 'The Storm Within' is about a search for identity, trying to make yourself full when you feel half empty, and I placed that storyline in an interstellar world."

Musically, "The Storm Within" plays to EVERGREY's trademark prog metal attack but it's loaded with double-take moments. Lead-off track "Distance" is a surprise lead single (and first video), the melodically and lyrically stunning "Passing Through" is destined to become a fan favourite, "My Allied Ocean" is one of EVERGREY's most aggressive songs to date, and the epic title track makes for the perfect album closer in the tradition of Devin Townsend or RUSH. The addition of NIGHTWISH vocalist Floor Jansen on "In Orbit" is the icing on an already filling cake.

"That was actually my wife (Carina Englund) thinking for me," Englund says of Jansen's involvement. "Floor is a personal friend and major EVERGREY fan, so it was over a glass of wine between her and my wife, who asked her if she wanted to do the song. 'In Orbit' is a powerhouse of a song and it would be easy to make it the first single, but it's not the first impression we want to make. That said, it would be stupid not to release it as a single, and if we could get Floor to do the video, that would be a home run."

Speaking of Englund's better half Carina, she reprises her ongoing role as EVERGREY's secret weapon on every album since they began, contributing vocals this time out to the song "The Paradox Of The Flame". In addition, EVERGREY renewed their partnership with critically acclaimed video director Patric Ullaeus for "The Storm Within", fulfilling the band's vision of creating the most cinematic album in their catalogue. Three stellar clips were shot and, in a huge promotional push, are slated to hit the internet leading up to the official album release.

Englund is proud to have "The Storm Within" represent EVERGREY's all-important 20th anniversary, although he freely admits he didn't take note of the landmark occasion until the album was well underway.

"I had a goal when I started EVERGREY; I wanted to make 10 albums and that would fulfill my life plan. That's not something I ever thought I would accomplish. It's quite an amazing thing to be a band for 20 years and release albums that aren't sub-par. When I realized we'd done 10 albums in 20 years, it was mind-boggling. I'm proud to say that out of all the albums we've released over the last 20 years, we've never released one that we didn't feel was the best we could do at that time. That goes for every song, every note, everything. That's why we don't do anything half-assed."

"The Storm Within" track listing:

01. Distance02. Passing Trough03. Someday04. Astray05. The Impossible06. My Allied Ocean07. In Orbit (feat. Floor Jansen)08. The Lonely Monarch09. The Paradox Of The Flame10. Disconnect11. The Storm Within

EVERGREY is:

JOTNAR Release “Connected/Condemned” Music Video

Spanish melodic death metallers, Jotnar, have released a music video for the title track of their sophomore album, Connected/Condemned, which will be released this fall.

The video was filmed in Canary Islands by director Pablo García Gallego, featuring actor Francisco Vázquez. This is the first of a series of videos that will be published in the following months.

Said Jotnar in a statement: "After a long wait, we are proud of show you the first video of our upcoming album. We are very excited to show you the new Jotnar’s sound. Many things have happened to us since our debut album. The vocalist departure in the middle of the album recording was very hard for us, but at the same time, very challenging, allowing us the chance to think about our music, which path we wanted to take and what kind of vocalist would be the best for us. We found exactly what we were looking for and we are completely blown away with the results. The album is killer !!!
We are back now, new singer, new album, new sound but the same melodic death metal heart.

“About the filming of the video, we wanted to have it filmed completely in our hometown, the Canary Islands, because it offers an infinite different amazing locations. The concept of the song is about people who lives trapped into a life they don't really like or want, but at the same time they feel somehow forced to stay that way. We tried to capture part of this concept in this video, showing a person who is trapped inside, like living in a parallel universe where nobody else exist and he cannot figure out what the hell is happening. It's a very dark concept and deals a lot with desperation and frustration. We had the privilege to work with a great actor, Francisco Vázquez, who was really amazing and was able to capture what we wanted in every moment.

“We are more than proud to present you “Connected/Condemned”. We know you all gonna love it as much as we do!"

As on the previous album, Giant, the mixes for the new album are being done by Sacha Laskow at Perfect Fifth Studio in Canada. Mastering has been done by Jens Bogren (Arch Enemy, Soilwork, Amon Amarth, Opeth) at Fascination Street Studios in Sweden.

This will be the first album with new singer Mario Infantes, and will count on reputed international collaborations including Björn “Speed” Strid (Soilwork), Alessio NeroArgento (Disarmonia Mundi, NeroArgento), Jennie Nord (Ultimate Fate), Santi Suarez (Sphinx) and Bruno Pardini.

The cover art was created by British artist Russ Mills.

OTEP Releases 'Zero' Video

"Zero", the new video from OTEP, the band led by singer, poet, illustrator, author and activist Otep Shamaya, can be seen below. The song is taken from OTEP's seventh studio album, "Generation Doom", which was released on April 15 via Napalm. The CD was produced by Howard Benson, who has previously worked with such acts as MOTÖRHEAD, PAPA ROACH, THREE DAYS GRACE, FLYLEAF, P.O.D. and HALESTORM.

Said Otep about the video: "We wanted to capture not only what it looks like during our live shows, but what it feels like. That raw, undulating emotional chaos that permeates every atom of every person who attends. If you haven't been to one of our rituals, this is what it feels like to have your soul explode and your heart catch fire."

OTEP is currently on the road as part of the "Equal Rights, Equal Lefts" tour, which stops tonight in Macon, Georgia and runs through August 29 in Santa Ana, California.

With Shamaya's multifaceted vocal approach, from gut-wrenching roars to soft seductive poetry to singing with a surprisingly magically beautiful voice, to her evolution as a writer and story teller, "Generation Doom" erupts with thunderous, punishing grooves that harmoniously detonate into dark industrial fury with magma flows of hard rock melodies that seamlessly shape shift into a mysterious musical beast we've just discovered.

Speaking about the current lineup of OTEP, Shamaya said, "These are the most talented group of musicians I've ever worked with. We are a family. These are my brothers in arms. My guitarist Aristotle and I have a spiritual connection on an alchemical level that's preternaturally conducive to creativity. Along with my amazing drummer Justin Kier and bassist Corey Wolford, we are a force of nature and resistance fighters. Music is our weapon. They believe in what we're doing, what we stand for, and have the utmost affection and respect for our fans, the OTEP tribe."

OTEP was formed in Los Angeles in 2000 and immediately signed to Capitol Records, an achievement based solely on the strength of its live performance. They were selected to appear at Ozzfest after Sharon Osbourne witnessed one of these incendiary performances. Their debut at Ozzfest was only their ninth live show, a major achievement for any band. It would be the kick-off for a career spanning 15 years.

NEGURĂ BUNGET Premier “Tul-ni-ca-rind” Music Video

Negură Bunget's new album, ZI (English for 'Day' or 'Say') is the second part of the group's ambitious Transilvanian Trilogy, released on the heels of 2015's celebrated album, TAU (English for 'Your' or 'Thy'), a record accurately hailed as "earthshaking" as it focused on unique native, natural landscapes and the mystique, legends, lore and meanings behind them. The new album will be out September 30th via Prophecy Productions.

A video for the new song “Tul-ni-ca-rind” (Horn-ing) can be seen below. The video was created by Daniel Dorobantu.

Negru comments of the first track to be unveiled from the album: ““Tul-ni-ca-rind” is a song about sending a message, a message between places, between worlds, between different states of conscience. It all starts from a traditional Romanian instrument called tulnic, which is still being used in the traditional communities a signalling tool, but also quite a lot on the funeral ceremonies. Based on this tradition, and on the overall local funeral ceremonies, where there's a complex connection between the world of the living and the one of the dead, with actions reflecting between worlds, we developed the song as a kind of language between natural and spiritual dimension, between ceremonies, rituals and silence. Most of our songs can hardly be explained, and this one makes no exception. Although it starts from some concrete elements, it goes a lot further into unknown and mystery, where death is not the end, but merely a transition into another dimension.”

In creating its most luminescent recording to date, Negură Bunget has further immersed itself in the traditions and practices of local Transilvanian inhabitants, exploring their connection with nature, and the way this relationship has shaped spiritual horizons. Within this framework, ZI closely examines the core of the most important traditions and rituals connected with the well-being of this community. Life events such as funeral ceremonies, soil tillage, and human growth and evolution (i.e. youth to teen to man to warrior, through to outcast) are spotlighted, in what is undoubtedly some of the most heady, thinking-man's metal produced in recent memory.

Musically, ZI builds upon the hallmarks of Negură Bunget's impressive catalog; the juxtaposition and interweaving of grim black metal elements, ambient soundscapes and acoustic counterparts based on native Romanian folk music, giving life to panoramic atmospheres, intensity and power unequaled in the band's rich discography.

An impressive musical statement and crucial bridge between root-bearing beginning and impending finale of the trilogy (scheduled to be released in early 2018), ZI is a mystical, tension-building recording that mirrors the size and scope of the deep forest fog for which the band is named.

The album was recorded at Negura MUSIC studio January-June 2016. Produced and mixed by Negură Bunget and Mihai ‘Mtz' Neagoe. Mastering by Alin Luculescu. Cover design by Daniel Dorobanțu. Outfit design by Anita Ramona.

Tracklisting:

SPIRIT ADRIFT Release “Psychic Tide” Music Video

Psychedelic, classically-infused doom metal act, Spirit Adrift, have released a video for the track “Psychic Tide”, from their debut full-length album, Chained To Oblivion, out now via Prosthetic Records.

Produced again by Bob Hoag at Arizona's Flying Blanket Studios, Chained To Oblivion show the continuing evolution and growth of the band's creator, Nate Garrett, both as a songwriter and a person.

"The songs on Chained To Oblivion deal with struggle, adversity, suffering, helplessness, hopelessness, but ultimately triumph", commented Garrett, "I believe that the life experiences which fueled these songs, plus the amount of emotion and energy attached to the recording session itself... all that will touch listeners who are open to it. Sonically speaking, expect more vocal harmonies, trippier lyrics, more guitar harmonies, groovier bass, and drumming that's way more solid. It's heavier, prettier, more concise, more focused, and more confident."

Garrett continued to share details on the album's stunning artwork from Revolting Worship's Nate Burns adding, "He nailed it, again. The artwork on Chained To Oblivion continues to follow the trials and tribulations of Spirit Adrift's matriarch, Brenda. Nate Burns and I talked about my ongoing obsession with outer space, old X-Men comics (particularly some of the Phoenix story arcs), and subliminal stimuli within art. This artwork goes hand in hand with the listening experience, so we've made sure the physical versions of the album are well worth the fans' hard-earned money. I can't wait for the world to hear this album"

Chained To Oblivion features five tracks spanning over 45 minutes of music and is available on digipack CD and across all digital outlets. A gatefold double LP version of the album will also be offered through Chicago-based War Crime Recordings.

Tracklisting:

“Psychic Tide”
“Marzanna”
“Form and Force”
“Chained To Oblivion”
“The Hum Of Our Existence”

“Form And Force” video:

Spirit Adrift is the result of a lifetime dedicated to music. Both musically and lyrically, the music is punishingly heavy and equally uplifting. Psychedelic currents ebb and flow throughout passages of unrelenting doom and entrancing melody. The focus is on writing memorable, meaningful songs that evoke every sonic influence that shaped the musician channeling them.

Spirit Adrift represents the culmination of every bit of Garrett’s musical experience, from piano lessons at age three, through voice training in school choir, whiskey-soaked Sabbath riffs, the joy of Thin Lizzy guitar harmonies and ZZ Top pinch harmonics, good times, awful times and everything in between. Garrett cut his teeth in the south, in a humid melting pot of doom, sludge, psychedelic rock and hardcore punk. He played, recorded and toured with as many bands as possible and was deeply influenced by the artistic and personal relationships he shared with fellow Arkansans such as Deadbird, Rwake, Seahag and Pallbearer.

Dope has released a music video for “Hold On”, the first official single from their upcoming sixth studio album, Blood Money Part 1. The album officially hits streets on October 28th via Entertainment One Music (eOne Music), but fans can pre-order the record, along with a plethora of bundle packages, meet and greets, and exclusive new merch designs at this location.

Edsel Dope co-directed "Hold On" alongside his old friend and acclaimed video director Dale Rage Resteghini.

London’s WHEN OUR TIME COMES Release “Beyond Limits” Music Video

Lifeforce Records artists / London-based progressive metal/hardcore act When Our Time Comes have released a new video for their track “Beyond Limits” (streaming below).

Filmed on the band's first ever UK headline run in support of their debut album, vocalist Joe Carter-Hawkins says: "Touring makes it all worth it. These days, being in a band usually comes with an admin role and it can feel like an uphill struggle trying to get people to fight in your corner. For us, performing is the pay out at the end of a long working day. It’s the feet up, TV on feeling. This was our first headline tour and it was amazing, the reaction we received in every city is why we do this. We got to visit places we’ve never been to before to play our music to people we’ve never met. We had fans travel miles to come and see us jump around like idiots, that’s something only a small percentage of the world can claim and we are eternally grateful for it. Our closing show in London was practically ethereal. We were stood on stage in front of an almost sell-out crowd with their hands in the air screaming lyrics we’d written in our bedrooms. We can't wait to get behind the wheel again. See you in the pit"

The video, shot and edited by Jamie Carter can be seen below:

DGM Premier “Fallen” Music Video

Italian prog metal masters DGM will release their new album, The Passage, on August 26th. A music video for the track “Fallen” can be found below.

The Passage is DGM’s eighth studio album and is the culmination of almost 20 years of hard work that started back in 1997 with the release of their self-produced mini-album, Random Access Zone. The band went through several incarnations and lineup changes during the years, but since singer Mark Basile joined the group in 2007, DGM evolved and developed their sound into what they have now become.

It was probably the release of Frame (2007) that pushed the band into the top of the league of international prog metal. It was also on the strength of this material that DGM managed to tour for almost four years around the world, taking part in some of the biggest metal festivals, supporting Symphony X on their European tour, and sharing the stage with Pagan's Mind too. In 2013, DGM came back with Momentum, an album which showed the full stylistic maturity of a band which felt fully confident with their abilities, both on the songwriting and the musicianship side. The last album was promoted with more shows and after several gigs in Europe, they performed for the second time at ProgPower USA and started their first Asian tour in November 2014 playing Beijing, Tokyo, Nagoya and Osaka as headliners.

The new album, The Passage is another substantial step forward for DGM. Sounding like a hungry, urbanized version of Symphony X, with substantial hard rock influences, the new record is remarkable in several aspects. The compositions are phenomenal, with sweeping choruses, technical passages, lightning fast fretwork, big vocals and bombastic transitions. The playing is simply faultless and the melodies are perfectly woven into the killer guitars, epic keyboards, and pounding drums!

“This album can easily be seen as our most ambitious work to date,” says guitarist and producer Simone Mularoni.

“This time we tried to evolve to an even more personal sound. We took all the elements we developed through all these years and we tried to take them to the limit. Throughout the whole record you will hear a recurrent musical theme. Instead of doing a usual concept album with the lyrics, we decided to do a sort of musical concept with this melody that repeats in every song but every time with different time signatures and keys,” tells drummer Fabio Costantino.

“This album will offer to the listener a key for a positive dimension. A path made of sound vibrations: The Passage to our dreams and hopes,” concludes bassist Andrea Arcangeli.

Evergrey singer Tom Englund and Symphony X guitarist Michael Romeo also appear as special guests tributing the value of this outstanding album. And let's not forget the great job that producer Simone Mularoni did in the studio. The future looks bright for these guys. Check them out live when they come to a town near you.

THE TANGENT Premier 20-Minute Long Track “A Few Steps Down The Wrong Road”; Video Streaming

European progressive rock band The Tangent have returned, following band leader Andy Tillison's heart attack last year and subsequent recuperation. Never one to shy away from confronting issues head on, Andy has enlisted his band-mates in The Tangent including Luke Machin, Jonas Reingold and Theo Travis, to create one 20-minute long piece titled “A Few Steps Down The Wrong Road” which you can hear now via the video below.

The track sees The Tangent joined by author, playwright and former Chumbawamba member Boff Whalley, for what is a preface to a new album that finds the band focussing on politics and the practice of mass migrations in the contemporary world.

Andy Tillison had this to say: "Inevitably, after a very upbeat and nostalgic album that revisited our early career with "A Spark In The Aether", I wanted to turn my head again towards the more socially aware music that I have written since I was a teenager. The idea has been building with me for some time, and now it's time for me to get on with it. In the light of the UK's decision to leave the EU, a political framework where the Tangent flourished as an international positive idea, it's obvious that I want to say something about that. I've never been good at political debate, but in song I find my courage and I'm not letting this pass me by."

The track, and the forthcoming album, is accompanied by artwork created by UK comic artist Mark "Bucky" Buckingham, whose images have graced comics for both DC and Marvel. You can see some of the early work he has done for The Tangent below.

Andy continues: "We in the west decimated the lives of so many in other parts of the world - in generations gone by and right up to this moment. We're doing it now. The Chilcott report on the Iraq War identifies this frequently occurring British/American behaviour and attributes much of the desperate actions of people to that very behaviour pattern. When people travel to escape the chaos in which we had a hand either by political interference or by selling their Warlord governments weapons, they follow the trails WE left for them. We should not be surprised or indignant that they are coming. We left the invitations open when we left those people destitute once before. They will continue to come. Being ready for this is not about building walls to stop them. It's always been about making good for the past. Whether we can - in our current "economic state" - handle this is really a question as simple as this....

If there was a Tsunami that destroyed half of Southend On Sea, would they build a wall around Basildon to stop the resulting refugees?

Your answer to that question is what England (and I mean England) IS. Or perhaps your answer is what it COULD be. We could make it better. Economics is a consideration, not another brick wall.

Tangent means Tangent. Go off on one. Think again."

Video Premiere: THE AGONIST's 'The Moment'

"The Moment", the new video from Montreal, Quebec, Canada-based melodic death metallers THE AGONIST, can be seen below. The song is taken from the band's upcoming album, "Five", which will be released on September 30 via and Napalm Records. The CD was recorded with producer Mike Plotnikoff, who has previously worked with BUCKCHERRY, OTEP, HALESTORM, DROWNING POOL, THEORY OF A DEADMAN, 3 DOORS DOWN, FEAR FACTORY, FLYLEAF and SKILLET, among others.

THE AGONIST vocalist Vicky Psarakis commented: "'The Moment' was probably the most exciting and demanding video I had to shoot so far. Chris (bassist / FTB Visuals director) came up to me with the idea to create a 'storyline' with a close up of just my face singing the lyrics underwater. And we achieved it by building a box with a plexiglass panel that fit my head, while the rest of my body was standing and perfectly dry. I guess you could say it was scary and awkward to have just your head submerged underwater and a bit dangerous to have to perform the entire song in that position, but honestly, I wouldn't mind doing the whole thing all over again!"

"Five" track listing:

01. The Moment02. The Chain03. The Anchor and The Sail04. The Game05. The Ocean06. The Hunt07. The Raven Eyes08. The Wake09. The Resurrection10. The Villain11. The Pursuit of Emptiness12. The Man Who Fell to Earth13. The Trial14. Take Me to Church (HOZIER cover) (bonus edition only)

Said THE AGONIST guitarist Danny Marino: "We are so anxious to release this record to our fans and the rest of the world!

"This album represents another shift in the evolution of THE AGONIST!

"Vicky and I went even deeper into what makes a song really connect.

"I'm very proud of everyone's hard work making this the most diverse and interesting record for us to date!

"It was a great learning experience working with Mike Plotnikoff and fully immersing ourselves in the recording process 24/7.

"Just as much as we are excited to release this album, we are psyched to get back out on the road and connect directly with our fans! Europe gets the first taste before we unleash on North America this November with EPICA." Psarkis added: "Being in THE AGONIST for over two years now and after releasing my debut album with the band and numerous tours, I can say that 'Five' is the record where I believe that we finally found our sound!

"There's a certain confidence that comes with experience and there's something about being fully comfortable that can take your approach towards songwriting to a whole other level.

"Working on the lyrics and vocals on this album was an incredibly natural process.

"Halfway into the pre-production, we realized that a lot of our songs seemed to be telling a story and hearing the album in its entirety is like escaping into our world."

The official lyric video for the song "The Chain" can be seen below.
