West Yorkshire, UK-based prog-rock three-piece, Zeitgeist, are getting ready to unleash their unique "terrorjazz" all over the place. The band’s debut single, “Thantos” is an absolute juggernaut of sound and belting fury, taking in the most electrifying textural parts of Tool and smashing them against the sheer, spine-tingling power and energy of Meshuggah.
The band's keyboardist, Aleks Podraza comments on the track's inspirations: “This is probably the heaviest track we’ve ever played. I remember hearing a track called “The Reptilian Brain” by the American band Intronaut, and fell in love with the whole riff-over-a-tampura drone thing, and I really just wanted to create my own version of that sound. Things just took off from there. There are a tonne of other little mathematical influences that I fleshed out in “Thantos”.”

Philadelphia’s Nothing have released an official music video for “Curse Of The Sun”, a track from their sophomore LP, Tired Of Tomorrow, out now via Relapse Records. The new video was directed by Jimmy Hubbard.
The band's Nicky Palermo commented on the video: “This song is a nothing more than a declaration of war with the sun. It's the centre of the universe that’s to blame for spawning this epidemic of life that is laughably plagued by death. The dark Casanova sprouting humans who live to have everything they can get their hands on, just so they can die and litter it all behind. I’m often reminded by this when we're playing these big venues filled with hundreds of humans, so it only seemed natural to film in a live setting. That's the only reason I chose to do a live video actually. They're normally fucking stupid. Well, that and because Jimmy was filming it all."
Tired Of Tomorrow is available on CD / LP / Deluxe 2xLP (with two bonus tracks) / Cassette / Digital. Physical orders and bundles are available via Relapse.com here, and digital downloads can be ordered via Bandcamp at this location.

Connecticut-based progressive rockers Enemy Remains today unveil the first single and video for "No Faith In Humanity”, from their upcoming October release of the same name. The single features a timely subject matter, touching on the current political climate in America.
"We choose this track because of the strong message regarding what's going on with our world today," said guitarist Tommy "The Beast" Blardo. "With the effect of today's political views, we felt this was appropriate, and we hope the fans will relate to it. We hope people can totally get behind the message and try resolve some of the hate in the world."
Enemy Remains was formed by Blardo and original Fates Warning drummer Steve Zimmerman a decade ago. What began as means of musical expression for the pair has since grown into a hard rock force of nature with driving rhythms and a progressive edge. The group, now rounded out by vocalist Frank Morin, Scott Kadish and bassist Andy Majewski, has since shared the stage with the likes of Alice Cooper, Queensryche and Heaven and Hell, as well as having the honour of playing the 20,000-seat XL Center in an opening ceremony for the Hartford Wolf Pack, the New York Rangers' AHL affiliate.
The video for "No Faith In Humanity" was directed by Edwin Escobar, an acclaimed Connecticut-based director specializing top-notch music videos. "The video shoot was just amazing," Blardo said. "Working with a professional like Edwin Escobar was a no-brainer. He made this shooting stress free for all of us."
The result is a slick, performance-based video with intermittent clips that tie in the song's message.
Enemy Remains' new EP will be released October 30th. The video for "Now Faith in Humanity" can be viewed below:
Finnish maniacs Corona Skies have released "Delirium Disco", the first video from their forthcoming album, Fragments Of Reality.
This six-piece - dubbed the bastard child of Dragonforce and Sonata Arctica - delivers a unique mix of smashing guitar riffs, hyper-skilled keyboard athleticism on rock solid rhythm section, completed with powerful multi-layered vocals. With the current line-up, the band has been around since 2009 and played dozens of shows in Finland. Since releasing a self-financed EP in 2011, the band’s songwriting and musicianship have evolved into a whole new level which can be heard on band’s debut album Fragments Of Reality. From ambient, atmospheric soundscapes to hard-shredding solos and huge orchestrations, the versatility of the album really emphasizes what this band is all about. Although the music itself cannot simply be described in terms of a single genre, some elements from classic hard rock, power metal, progressive metal and thrash metal are definitely there.
The band has issued the following statement:
"The album production took place at Noise For Fiction Studios in the guidance of Mr. Joona Lukala. The goal was to create an album full of different moods and nuances that would lyrically and thematically reflect different aspects and events of life (hence the album title). The biggest challenge, for better or for worse, was to keep all pieces together, to turn these “fragments” (songs) into an album that is musically coherent and on focus. After countless hours locked in the studio, we can shout it out, loudly and proudly - we reached our goal!"
Fragments Of Reality will be released worldwide through Mighty Music (ex. Japan by Bickee Music) on the November 18th. Go to this location for information on Corona Skies.
German melodic death metallers, Nothgard, will release their third album, The Sinner‘s Sake, on September 23rd via NoiseArt Records. Special guests include Jeff Loomis from Arch Enemy, Jen Majura from Evanescence and Robse from Equilibrium. A music video for the track “Draining Veins” can be found below.
Founded in 2008 by singer and lead guitarist Dom R. Crey (from Equilibrium), Nothgard drag along the winning ways since their debut album Warhorns Of Midgard from 2011. The high technical quality of their guitar work and the epic orchestration of their melodic death metal elates fans and critics alike. In 2014, the band released another epic milestone of deadly metal, memorable melodies and influences from both neo-classical and folk music called Age Of Pandora. In the meantime, Nothgard became members of the NoiseArt Records family, who will escort their new masterpiece The Sinner‘s Sake on the band‘s way to the top of the melodic death metal throne.
Starting with an imposing blockbuster intro, The Sinner‘s Sake bestirs itself as a fantastic giant. Deadly rifs meet playful, catchy lead guitars, while the epic orchestration arranges for a cinematic atmosphere that will bring goosebumps to your skin. Completed by Dom R. Crey‘s raw vocals, Nothgard‘s sound is both stormy-spectacular and full of a sublime atmosphere. The top-class guest list on The Sinner‘s Sake adds another special mark to the album. None other than guitar virtuoso Jef Loomis (guest solo on “Iron Sights”), Jen Majura (guest vocals in “Sin Eater” and “Draining Veins”) and Robert “Robse” Dahn (additional growls in “Death Unites”) show up to leave their marks on the respective songs.
With The Sinner‘s Sake, Nothgard set of into the most spectacular chapter in the band‘s history so far. The songs that are spiced with cinematic elements will show Nothgard‘s intoxicating vibe on an entirely diferent level both in the stereo system and live on stage.

South Wales, UK death metal outfit, Venom Prison, have released a video for the track “Celestial Patricide”, featured on their upcoming debut full-length album, Animus, due for release in stores and online on October 14th via Prosthetic Records. The clip can be seen below.
Recorded by Tom Dring at Vagrant Recordings (Dragged Into Sunlight, Electric Wizard), Animus is 10 tracks of aural assaulting brutality. Venom Prison tackle subjects such as social Darwinism, misogyny, rape culture and the rejection of God and religion. As seen below, the artwork for Animus was created by German based legendary artist, Eliran Kantor (Testament, Sigh) who worked closely with Larissa to capture some of the themes of the album.
Vocalist Larissa Stupar elaborates: “The album's lyrics capture and portray various forms of fighting an oppressive force. One of them struck Eliran's eye as the most livid out of them all. In Perpetrator Emasculation a rapist is being force-fed his own genitalia. It's not a secret that death metal art and lyrical content often involve violence against women and we liked the idea of turning the tables. That lyrical segment depicts the title and theme of the record very well and the visual execution makes your flesh crawl with vengeance."
Tracklisting:
“Syllogism”
“Abysmal Agony”
“Celestial Patricide”
“Desecration of Human Privilege”
“Corrode The Black Sun”
“Immanetize Eschaton”

Kadaver have released another video for the Berlin visual album concept. Watch “Reich Der Träume”, as well as three previously released videos below.
Commented the band about “Reich Der Träume”: "The song was originally written for Nico by Lutz Graf (LÜÜL), known for his work with bands like Ash Ra Tempel, Agitation Free and 17 Hippies. It is the first song Lupus sings German on. We liked the heavy mood of the song. Within the music as well as in the lyrics. It's one of the most beautiful Nico songs which unfortunately was barely recognized until now. We were very proud when we got LÜÜL's blessing to cover the song."

Kadavar recently teamed up with Scion A/V Metal and Skybound Entertainment (The Walking Dead, Outcast) to release "Words Of Evil," a brand new, unreleased song.
Commented Kadavar singer Lupus: "Originally we had written the song for our album Berlin, but thought it would stick out too much and decided not to put it on the album. Nevertheless I think it is one of the best songs we've ever written. At least it is one of my faves. A lot of NWOHBM and straight to your face!"

Brant Bjork will release his new album, "Tao Of The Devil", on September 30 via Napalm Records. The CD is said to be "more focused" than its predecessor, 2014's "Black Power Flower", and boasts a more song-oriented and groovy stoner sound, with a healthy dose of '70s-style greatness.
The official video for the song "Stackt", taken from "Tao Of The Devil", can be seen below. As the founder of KYUSS, the singer, guitarist and drummer might be the ultimate icon the desert rock scene has to offer — but despite all this praise and worship, Brant's only concern rests in supplying the planet with unpretentious laid-back rock, adorned with hefty jam-outs.
Bjork is backed on "Tao Of The Devil" by Bubba DuPree on guitar, Dave Dinsmore on bass and Ryan Güt on drums.
In a recent interview with The Obelisk, Brant stated about "Tao Of The Devil": "It's much different than the first LOW DESERT PUNK BAND record, 'Black Power Flower'. It's a lot different. Bubba and I did some collaboration, we wrote a handful of songs together. Bubba and I really focused on the production, we had a concept. We wanted to go with a, not lo-fi, but definitely not a hi-fi sound. So we kind of left it nice and raw. Seven tracks on the vinyl, then we have a bonus track for the CD, which is an edited down 14-minute kind of organized jam. Then we re-recorded 'Lazy Bones' and 'Automatic Fantastic' and 'Freaks Of Nature' because this band in particular has a very unique take on those tracks that I really dig and I wanted to document those because I have a feeling we probably won't be doing them forever. I did those and those will get a separate release within a ten-inch which will come with the vinyl in a box set kind of thing. I don't know; the label has some fancy ideas." Pink Floyd’s “Grantchester Meadows” (taken from The Early Years 1965 – 1972) is a Roger Waters song, originally performed solo on the Ummagumma album, that celebrates the English countryside, as in other compositions such as “Time”. This special group performance, taped for the BBC, with acoustic guitars and vocals from Roger Waters and David Gilmour, plus additional piano from Richard Wright and taped songbirds, successfully evokes a summer’s day in Grantchester, a small village close to Cambridge, England.
Grantchester’s famous former residents include the Edwardian poet Rupert Brooke, who moved there and subsequently wrote a poem of homesickness entitled The Old Vicarage, Grantchester.
Creative Director: Aubrey Powell, Hipgnosis. 2016 footage directed and edited by Nick Edwards. Performance footage director: John Coney for KQED, San Francisco 1970. Audio recorded for BBC Radio, 12 May 1969.
Pink Floyd will release The Early Years 1965-1972 on Friday, November 11th. A comprehensive 27-disc boxed set, it pulls together material from the Pink Floyd archive, as well as licensed Radio and TV recordings, to comprise a deluxe package that includes seven individual book-style volumes, (six of which are dedicated to particular years), featuring much previously unreleased material, as well as bonus content, reproduction memorabilia, and the band's first recording from 1965, released on CD for the first time.
The packages contain more than 100 photographs of Pink Floyd, the majority of which are previously unseen, as well as more than 40 items of memorabilia in special wallets. In addition, Pink Floyd's first five UK singles have been included in the box, on 7" vinyl with replica sleeves.
The Early Years 1965-1972 box set contains unreleased tracks, BBC Radio Sessions, remixes, outtakes and alternative versions. Ten CDs, nine DVDs and eight Blu-ray discs contain more than 130 audio tracks, as well as more than 14 hours of audio-visual material. There are more than 20 unreleased songs, plus previously unreleased live audio, rare concert footage, feature films and new sound mixes. Previously unreleased tracks include 1967's Vegetable Man and In The Beechwoods, both mixed especially for this release.
The six individual year-specific book-style packages will be released separately early in 2017, although the bonus volume, Continu/ation, will be exclusive to the box set, as will the larger memorabilia items, which are reproduced in actual size for the box.
Also released on Friday, November 11th will be a companion edition, Cre/ation – The Early Years 1967-1972, a 2CD collection of some of the highlights of the box set, focussing on the band's material from 1967 to 1972.
On September 23rd, Pink Floyd Records will continue the reintroduction of the Pink Floyd catalogue on vinyl with Atom Heart Mother, Meddle and Obscured By Clouds, all remastered from the original analogue master tapes. The Wall and The Division Bell are also back in stock on vinyl from August 26th.
Pink Floyd followed their 60s albums with their fifth studio album, 1970‘s Atom Heart Mother. Featuring the classic lineup of Roger Waters, David Gilmour, Richard Wright and Nick Mason, the LP went on to become the band‘s first UK No.1 record.
In a short break from touring Atom Heart Mother, in 1971 Pink Floyd released the experimental album, Meddle. The LP saw the band move musical direction away from their original psychedelic sound, especially highlighted by the 23-minute track Echoes which occupied the entirety of the b-side of the record.
Pink Floyd‘s seventh album, Obscured By Clouds was originally recorded as the soundtrack to the French film ‘La Vallée’ but released as a stand alone album in 1972.
The Piper At The Gates Of Dawn, A Saucerful Of Secrets, More, Ummagumma, are also available through Pink Floyd Records. For more information, head here.
ALTER BRIDGE's video for the song "Show Me A Leader" can be seen below. The clip is based on a concept created by the band and director Zev Deans that brings life to the story told in the single's lyrics.
The animated video shows the world in turmoil as politicians (represented by suits with megaphone heads) are broadcasting harmful messages to the public. The band is on a roof with a satellite dish performing "Show Me A Leader" to counteract the harmful messages being spread. The video is visually captivating and showcases Deans's talent and unique creative style, something the band was immediately drawn to. "Show Me A Leader" is the debut single from ALTER BRIDGE's fifth studio album, "The Last Hero". The album is scheduled for worldwide release on October 7 by Caroline Records in the United States/Canada and Napalm Records throughout the rest of the globe. In the U.S., the song has been moving up the Active Rock charts being a Greatest Gainer this week via Mediabase and was Top 5 Most Added when it was released last week. The single is currently #27 on the Active Rock Chart this week. "The Last Hero" is now available for pre-order via iTunes, Amazon and Google Play. Fans who order the album will receive an instant download of "Show Me A Leader". The album is also available in various fan bundles at www.Alterbridge.com/store. In addition, a new shirt design has been made available to mark the occasion of the video release.
"The Last Hero" was produced by longtime friend and collaborator Michael "Elvis" Baskette (SLASH, TREMONTI, TRIVIUM) and mastered by Grammy Award winner Ted Jensen. ALTER BRIDGE is heading out on select U.S. headline dates in support of "The Last Hero" this coming September and select ticket purchases will come with a digital album. The headline run kicks off September 22 in Destin, Florida. The band will also perform at a few festival dates this fall, including the inaugural Houston Open Air, Sonic Boom, Louder Than Life and the Tulsa State Fair. ALTER BRIDGE is Myles Kennedy on vocals/guitars, Mark Tremonti on guitars/vocals, Brian Marshall on bass and Scott Phillips on drums.
"The Quest", the new video from Greek guitar virtuoso Gus G., well known in rock and metal circles for his work as Ozzy Osbourne's guitarist and as leader of his own band FIREWIND, can be seen below. The clip was directed by Ivan Colic of iCODE.
Commented Gus: "Today is a very exciting day for me — not only it's the start of my solo tour in the U.S. (with Angel Vivaldi), but the premiere of my new video for 'The Quest'. This is a very special track, as it's the only instrumental from my 'Brand New Revolution' solo album, and it's an over-the-top, high-energy metal track, with tons of shredding, big melodies and crazy arrangements. Since the album release, people have been telling me how much they've been enjoying this song, so I decided to make a video for it!
"Working with the iCode team in Serbia was a great experience and our goal was to make a crazy, cinematic, action packed video inspired by some of my favorite '80s cult classic films like 'Mad Max', 'Conan The Barbarian' and 'Highlander'. If you're into any of these movies, I'm sure you'll dig this video! Plus, is there a guitar player on this Earth that wouldn't wanna kill bad guys with his guitar superpowers?"
"Brand New Revolution" was released in Europe in July 2015 via Century Media. The CD was made available through Century Media in Australia and South America, Dismanic/eOne in North America and King Records in Japan. The cover artwork was once again created by Gustavo Sazes, who previously worked with Gus on the guitarist's debut album, "I Am The Fire", and also took care of artwork duties by such bands as ARCH ENEMY, KAMELOT and FIREWIND.
"Brand New Revolution" features guest vocal appearances by Jeff Scott Soto (YNGWIE MALMSTEEN, JOURNEY, TALISMAN), Elize Ryd (AMARANTHE), Jacob Bunton (ADLER, LYNAM) and Mats Levén (CANDLEMASS, YNGWIE MALMSTEEN, TREAT).

"Light Of 1000 Eyes", the new video from U.K./Swedish melodic rockers SEVEN, can be seen below. The song is taken from SEVEN's new album, "Shattered", which will be released on September 23 by U.K. label Escape Music Ltd.
The roots of SEVEN can be traced back to the late '80s/early '90s in South Africa, of all places. At the time, Keith McFarlane and the brothers Simon and John LeFevre were in a band called FACE TO FACE, while Mick Devine was drummer in another band, called UC27. After releasing several singles and one album in a period of 18 months, FACE TO FACE split and the brothers LeFevre returned to the U.K. After a few months, they decided to reform the band and Mick was asked to join them in the U.K. as their drummer. It wasn't before long that the brothers discovered that Mick was actually a better singer than drummer, and so Mick became the band's lead vocalist. A couple of years later, they were joined by Pat Davey on bass and Austin Lane on drums and the band name was changed to SEVEN.
The AOR scene in the late '80s was a thriving hive of activity. At the turn of the new decade, the likes of Mitch Malloy, Paul Laine, FIREHOUSE, TYKETTO and TALISMAN were all signed up and ready to make an impact on the genre. Everybody wanted an AOR band, and Polydor Records was no exception. Having been fairly successful in the U.K with the likes of MAGNUM and LITTLE ANGELS, the label had set their sights on SEVEN, which at the time was a relatively unknown act from Bournemouth.
SEVEN toured extensively supporting an eclectic variety of acts that included the likes of Jason Donovan, Richard Marx, THE MONKEES and BROTHER BEYOND. It's a time period that Mick Devine is keen to reminisce about. "Even though they were out and out pop gigs, we loved the crowds and the noise," he says. "We went from pubs to opening to 3000 screaming fans in Southampton. It is a very addictive adrenaline rush. We got to play all the top venues, which were fantastic — including Wembley Arena, the NEC, BIC, SEC and even the Royal Albert Hall. The Richard Marx tour was definitely the best for us with a more grown up audience we were able to rock it up and truly be ourselves. It went down really well!"
With John Parr as producer, they recorded two very strong singles in the shape of "Inside Love" and "Man With A Vision", both of which achieved moderate success in the U.K. In 2014, the original bass player Pat Davey was working alongside Robert Hart on an Escape Music album when the name SEVEN cropped up in the conversation. It would seem that Khalil Turk was a big fan, as Devine explains. "Yeah, back in the day, Khalil had really loved the band and he got in touch to see if we would be interested in finally releasing an album," he says. Without too much convincing, the project was born.
The production talents of Lars Chriss (the LION'S SHARE guitarist whose repertoire includes albums with Steve Overland, Chris Ousey, LUGNET and RADIOACTIVE) were enlisted to produce the band's debut album, called "7", which was released to critical acclaim and was held up as one of the "albums of the year" on many lists. Following the success of the first album, a passion was rekindled within Devine and McFarlane, who began work on new material, and along with the writing talents of Lars Chriss, Fredrik Bergh (BLOODBOUND, ROB MORATTI, STREET TALK), Andy Loos (LION'S SHARE, GLORY, CHRIS OUSEY), Kay Backlund (LION'S SHARE, NIVA) and Jeff Paris (MR. BIG, Y&T, VIXEN, RADIOACTIVE), that passion was given focus and a place to come to life. What they discovered was a well of untapped creativity that had been hidden for far too long and the songs poured out.
SEVEN's "Shattered" is a collection of wonderfully catchy songs that rely on clean and memorable melodies that allow Devine's distinctive voice to shine through. It was Devine who took the lead in writing the lyrics on this album, matching the intensity and feel of the music to deliver a modern melodic rock album with influences ranging from hints of FOREIGNER in "A Better Life" and "Broken Dream", JOURNEY in "High Hopes" and even traces of MAGNUM in "Light Of 1000 Eyes" and "Last Illusion". The lyrical themes are drawn from a depth of life experience and observations and are heartfelt and real. The production talents of Chriss and the lineup of truly great musicians, deliver an album of depth and variation which ranges from driving guitar-led tracks with memorable riffs to melodic anthems, all backed by stunning keys, bass and standout solos. It is an album that is a worthy follow-up to the critically acclaimed "7".
