"What's Left Inside", the new video from the all-female metal sextet CONQUER DIVIDE, can be seen below. The song is taken from the band's self-titled debut album, which was released last July via Artery Recordings. The CD was produced by Joey Sturgis (ASKING ALEXANDRIA, THE DEVIL WEARS PRADA, WE CAME AS ROMANS) and includes the song " Sink Your Teeth Into This ", featuring a guest appearance by new ASKING ALEXANDRIA singer Denis Shaforostov.
Based in the United States and England, the members of CONQUER DIVIDE have made a name for themselves with their catchy hooks, and their ability to quickly embarrass guys who don't think girls can play. The six-member band (consisting of Kiarely Castillo, Janel Duarte, Kristen Woutersz, Isabel "Izzy" Johnson, Tamara Tadic and Ashley Colby) has managed to capture the attention and gain the respect from their ever-growing fan base and critics alike. Over the past three years, the band have toured with ALESANA, SLAVES, IWRESTLEDABEARONCE and UPON A BURNING BODY, with multiple featured showcases at SXSW. On their recently released debut, CONQUER DIVIDE was pushed to their limits and thought outside the box as they worked with Sturgis.
The very personal "What's Left Inside" is described by Kristen Woutersz as "cathartic," and she hopes to motivate fans to turn a negative situation into something positive.
Asked if she thinks it's harder being a girl than a guy in the current music scene, Kristen told Odyssey: "Honestly, I think it's probably harder being a guy in some aspects — not in every aspect. Since it is a male-dominated genre, there are more all-guy bands, so it's harder to get noticed, where in our case, almost as soon as we put the band together, we were getting noticed. We put one song out and we were getting noticed. I guess it depends on the situation. There are some aspects that are harder for us, being an all-girl band, but we try to make the most of it and it's not too bad."
Pressed on whether they think that being in an all-girl metal band is a feminist statement, Ashley said: "I think we're just musicians like anyone else. I'm new, so when I joined the band I know all the girls told me, 'Remember, you're a musician just like everyone else.' We don't wanna be, like, 'We're girls,' you know? We wanna be treated as musicians and with the guys; we're all musicians together. That's how I look at it."
Janel added: "I feel like calling us a female band is honestly just an observation at this point. We have the same heart; we could do the same shit. I don't feel like it's weird if people call us a female band, 'cause it's just like I said: an observation. But then again, you don't go up and be like, 'Hey, CROWN THE EMPIRE, the all-male band!' It's like observation in my eyes."

Back in November 2014, the helicopter descended upon the infamous Hard Rock Hotel as KISS invaded Las Vegas for an historic nine-show run. Now, for one night only on May 25, fans will be able to experience this spectacular night for themselves as "Kiss Rocks Vegas" hits cinemas across the globe. From this blistering live show, fans can expect sky high flames, ear-bursting volume and a few drops of blood! Includes exclusive interviews with band and footage you will only see in the cinema.
A preview clip of the "Shout It Out Loud" performance from "Kiss Rocks Vegas" can be seen below.
Famed for their iconic face paint and stage attire, KISS was formed in New York City in 1973 by Paul Stanley (vocals, rhythm guitar) and Gene Simmons (vocals, bass guitar). Their sensational live performances feature fire breathing, blood-spitting, smoking guitars, shooting rockets, levitating drum kits, and pyrotechnics to spare. Tommy Thayer (lead guitar, vocals) and Eric Singer (drums, percussion, vocals) round out the band's powerful lineup. Tommy is also producer of the film "Kiss Rocks Vegas".
Said Stanley: "See us on the big screen with the awesome power of Surround Sound. Feel like you are in Vegas and don't be shy to 'shout it out loud!'"
Added Simmons: "Join us for a 'crazy crazy night' in your cinema!"
Stated Thayer: "We are all tremendously proud of this production; it captures a truly unique performance. You need to see it in a cinema to get the full on experience."
Said Singer: "We rocked The Joint at Hard Rock in Las Vegas. You get up close and personal with KISS. You're going to love it."
A select number of cinemas worldwide will also be screening the concert in Dolby Atmos, providing a powerfully immersive and moving audio experience for the cinema audience.
For more information and to book tickets for the cinema event please visit www.kissmycinema.com.
Speaking to Las Vegas Weekly, Stanley stated about how the idea for the KISS residency came about: "To spend as much time as we do in Vegas and to live as close as we do, the idea of doing a residency and leaving our stage setup, as opposed to breaking it down nightly, was really appealing."
He continued: "We just finished 42 cities and played for 600,000 people, but that meant that every night the show got disassembled and moved. There’s something appealing and challenging about building a set that doesn’t have to be moved. You don't have to take into account the practicality of it, being able to be broken down constantly and reassembled. So this was something that we had wanted to do for quite a while; it was just a matter of making sure we found people who were in agreement on how to do it. The Joint was the natural place to do it."
Snowy Shaw has released a new video written, produced, recorded, and sung by the man himself. The video for “Alcoholocaust” was mixed and mastered at Sound Industry, Gothenburg by Arnold Lindberg.
As a matter of fact, this also marks a new chapter or whatever as this is his first new original music Snowy puts out as a solo artist actually. Whereas over the past couple of years he has released the exclusive live DVD/CD box Snowy Shaw: 25 years of madness in the name of metal (2014) and a couple of albums and singles, all recorded live from his conceptual super show.
The 2016 edition of his super show can next be seen live at Wacken O.A in August and Metallsvenskan June 3rd, which is also the only show on home turf Sweden as Snowy has opted to focus primarily on working on new material being recorded and filmed, with tentative release of a full length studio by February next year.
Although his super show have consisted mainly of material from his past and often featured special guest stars from the aforementioned bands, no less than 65% of the material performed was inked by Snowy Shaw himself. But as previously stated above, “Alcoholocaust” is the first new original material under his own name.
Capsize‘s new album has been christened “A Reintroduction: The Essence Of All That Surrounds Me” and will be released on July 22nd through Equal Vision. A music video for the album’s opening track, “XX (Sew My Eyes)“, has been revealed below. Pre-orders for the new album have been launched at capsizemerch.com. Band frontman Daniel Wand said of the newly released track:
“The song is about the idea of wanting to move on from a moment, person or cycle in life, but feeling like your actions that leave you unexplainably content in discomfort make up who you are, and battling that in your head. It isn’t about one certain thing, just the fear that you can’t change fast enough in your own eyes.”
He further went on to state of the album as a whole:
“For this album, I wanted to write lyrics that I felt like I needed to hear, or would have liked to have heard at certain times in my life that I have only just recently worked through enough to put into words. The title represents what the album does for the band, and me personally. It’s a reintroduction of who we are as a band, in reference to the things that have led to this point in my life.
This record does more for me and my self worth than anything I’ve ever touched before. Everything from the lyrics to the songs themselves are a musical embodiment of my interests and personality and I love that I get to put that out there for people to listen to and be involved with.
Right before going into the studio, I told one of my best friends that the most important thing about this record was that it needed to be something that if I heard when I was at my most impressionable point, it would’ve made me desperate to make a band. I think I did that. And I think if I had this record when I was growing up it would’ve led me to exactly where I am today.”
The band will be out on this year’s ‘Vans Warped Tour‘, playing from July 17th through to August 13th.
Welsh metallers BULLET FOR MY VALENTINE have released an official performance video for the song "You Want A Battle? (Here's A War)". Check it out below.
BULLET FOR MY VALENTINE guitarist/vocalist Matt Tuck revealed to Billboard that "You Want A Battle? (Here's A War)" is about being bullied — something that he experienced a lot while at school because he "was not a really cool kid. I was into heavy metal music and had long hair."
Tuck wrote the track to reassure fans that bullying "happens to everybody, and it's not a nice place to be when that happens. It took me a long time to actually pluck up the courage mentally and physically to stand up for myself, so it was kind of momentous moment for me. I had lost all these battles in my young life, and all of a sudden I was growing into a young man. I was able to stand up for myself and defend myself, and the band actually became something big and special and just like the biggest 'fuck you' to everyone. That's what that song's about, really. It's about going through hard times and coming through the other side."
BULLET FOR MY VALENTINE recently signed a worldwide deal with Search And Destroy/Spinefarm Records. The band's latest album, "Venom", was released in August 2015 via RCA. The CD marked BULLET FOR MY VALENTINE 's first release since the departure of longtime bassist Jason James and addition of Jamie Mathias (formerly of REVOKER).
BULLET FOR MY VALENTINE drummer Michael "Moose" Thomas took a temporary leave of absence from the band earlier this year to spend time with his wife, as they awaited the birth of his first child. Filling in for him was Jason Bowld (PITCHSHIFTER, AXEWOUND).

For many extreme music fans, it may be hard to remember a time before DESPISED ICON, given the massive influence they've subsequently had on the genre. But when the group formed back in 2002 and released "Consumed By Your Poison" the same year, there was little intersection between the sounds of classic death metal and the brute force of hardcore. But DESPISED ICON were among the first to fully embrace the signatures of the traditional death metal formula combined with a relentless embrace of breakdowns, part of an emerging new sound.
Now DESPISED ICON have returned with their upcoming album titled "Beast". The genre-defining band is fully reawakened, poised to recapture the crown with the monstrous and merciless might of their potent expression. Featuring the men responsible for most of the band's now-classic death metal catalog, "Beast" is a vicious commentary on the state of the world and the state of music itself.

Los Angeles hard rock outfit 9Electric will unleash their full-length debut album, The Damaged Ones, on July 15th via Another Century.
The group is currently in the midst of a nationwide tour alongside label-mates Lacuna Coil, Butcher Babies and Painted Wives. Check out the live performance video for the track “New God” to give you a first glimpse into their music:
"We've had a more thematic approach to our videos in the past, but for a blistering track like 'New God,' a raw live show was the only way to go" says 9Electric lead singer Thunderwood, who also directed the video. "Being a band born of the new Hollywood scene, we decided to throw a farewell show for a club that was closing and we shot the video there. The power and energy tells the story here, and also offers a hint of what's to come without giving away too much about the depth and themes of our album."
9Electric are not just a product of the Hollywood scene, they are a band that helped build today's scene. They did it with a live show that is bigger than the clubs they pack, a sound that is as big as their live spectacle, and the determination to remind us all that while rock and roll is a celebration, it resonates the deepest when it has a purpose. "We are about empowerment and living with a sense of intention" Thunderwood says of the band. "Whatever you do, do it with some fucking conviction. Make something happen in your life."
The Damaged Ones is 9Electric setting their conviction to music. It is not a placebo intended to placate the masses, it is intense group therapy for the band and their fans.
"The album describes the human condition - no one is truly safe, because at some point we're all damaged" says Thunderwood, with bassist Casey DC adding "the song itself - the album's title track - is about the process of becoming damaged and how it leads to being socially ostracized, a common feeling amongst bands and fans. This song is about how we band together and become part of the rock scene as opposed to the mainstream."
