Mercenary Reveal New Album Details + New Song Online
On August 21, 2006, Danish metal hopefuls MERCENARY will release “The Hours That Remain” via Century Media Records. The follow-up to the critically acclaimed and much-lauded “11 Dreams” (2004), once again presents an intense musical entity formed out of influences from death-prog masters Opeth to prog-power archetypes Nevermore/Fates Warning to modern extreme-but-melodic acts like Soilwork.
Like its predecessor, “The Hours That Remain” was recorded and mixed by Jacob Hansen (Communic, Maroon, Hatesphere). The brilliant artwork created by Travis Smith (Death, Katatonia, Opeth) is the icing on the cake of this brilliant release.
The new album features guest vocals by Soilwork’s Björn “Speed” Strid and Heaven Shall Burn’s Marcus Bischoff.
The track-listing reads as follows:
MERCENARY - "The Hours That Remain" CD
1. Redefine Me (6:06)
2. Year Of The Plague (5:29)
3. My World Is Ending (5:26)
4. This Eternal Instant (6:10)
5. Lost Reality (8:02)
6. Soul Decision (5:03)
7. Simplicity Demand (6:35)
8. Obscure Indiscretion (4:46)
9. My Secret Window (6:29)
10. The Hours That Remain (8:07)
The album will be available in two different formats: Standard jewel case CD and limited edition CD+DVD containing an exclusive bonus DVD filled with 120 minutes of “Making of” documentary and live footage. To catch at least a glimpse of what to expect of one of this year’s most remarkable metal albums, MERCENARY’s new hymn “Soul Decision” can be streamed online here: http://www2.centurymedia.com/index.aspx?page=detailed_artist&id_artist=122
