FILTER Goes AcousticFILTER stopped by LimeWire Music Blog's headquarters before the band's August 21, 2010 performance at the Bowery Ballroom in New York City and belted out three acoustic tunes. Video footage of the performance can be viewed below.
"The Trouble With Angels", the fifth studio album from FILTER, sold around 6,300 copies in the United States in its first week of release to debut at position No. 63 on The Billboard 200 chart.
FILTER's previous album, 2008's "Anthems For The Damned", opened with 13,000 units to land at No. 42.
"The Trouble With Angels" was released on August 17 via Rocket Science Ventures. Fans of the band's "Short Bus" and "Title of Record" will be ecstatic to hear Richard Patrick return to his industrial roots.
Rocket Science owner Kevin Day says, "I have known Richard for a good while and have been a fan of his music and the FILTER 'sound' since their first release. 'The Trouble With Angels' is exciting because it's a strong return to the sonically dark jet engine growl that FILTER invented and defined."
Produced by Bob Marlette (BLACK SABBATH, ATREYU, SALIVA), the album's debut single, "The Inevitable Relapse", features thundering chords and an isolated bass line that both conjure and modernize FILTER's signature sound.
"People think 'The Inevitable Relapse' is about addiction, consumption, and obsession, but they're wrong," says Richard Patrick. "It's a love song."
FILTER released a limited-edition seven-inch vinyl single, exclusively for the Record Store Day coalition of stores on July 6, featuring "The Inevitable Relapse" album version and a Rob Patterson 666 re-mix on the B-side.
Richard Patrick has taken "Angels" to the next level both lyrically and musically, employing some of the best in the business for the current tour. The live band features Patrick on vocals and guitar, guitarist Rob Patterson (KORN, OTEP), bassist Phil Buckman and longtime FILTER drummer Mika Fineo.

SWORN \'Making A Lot Of Progress\' On Third AlbumNorwegian extreme metallers SWORN have issued the following update:
"Regarding our third album, we're making a lot of progress. The songwriting is pretty much finished, same goes for lyrics. Also the album title is set, but we will not reveal it at this point — so stay tuned for that!
"Some words about the material so far: Earlier there's been a mix between very melodic/atmospheric tracks and straight forward almost thrash-like tracks on our albums. We do this because we have a passion for both styles, and love to incorporate them into the SWORN sound.
"What we've done on this third album is to make each song represent our sound alot more, with both melodic and hard-hitting parts, while still being unique in themselves. This defines us a lot more, and the pre-productions so far sound killer, to say the least."
Working songtitles set to appear on the next SWORN CD:
* The Silver Asylum
* Corridors of Dark Salvation
* The Keeper
* Mot Stupet (Norwegian lyrics)
SWORN's sophomore album, "Bastards And Conquerors", was released on October 30, 2009 via Twilight-Vertrieb. 1

TIM \'RIPPER\' OWENS Hit By Flying Cup Of Beer In Norway; Video AvailablePowerhouse vocalist Tim "Ripper" Owens (YNGWIE MALMSTEEN, BEYOND FEAR, ex-JUDAS PRIEST, ICED EARTH) was hit by what appears to have been a plastic cup filled with beer during his September 10, 2010 headlining performance at at Byscenen in Haugesund, Norway.
Owens had just started playing his cover version of the BLACK SABBATH classic "Children Of The Sea" as a tribute to Ronnie James Dio when the projectile apparently landed on his left arm, causing Owens to stop the show and request that the perpetrator be ejected from the venue.
Owens said: "Stop! Who fucking threw it? WHO THREW IT?!? Who fucking threw it? Get him outta here. Find the person who threw it. We’re not starting until you throw the fucking person out of here. Find him and take him outta here. [As the guy's being ejected] Nice move you, fucking ass. Jesus. Moron, right? Shall we start again?”
Fan-filmed video footage of the incident can be viewed below (around the 40-second mark).
Owens is being backed by the following musicians during the tour:
* Andy Boss (PAUL DI'ANNO, ABSOLUTE STEEL) - Guitar
* Jon Vegard (PAUL DI'ANNO) - Guitar
* Are Gogstad (PAUL DI'ANNO, QUEENSTREET, ABSOLUTE STEEL) - Bass
* Rick Hagan (PAUL DI'ANNO, QUEENSTREET, ABSOLUTE STEEL, 21ST CENTURY ROX) - Drums 30

TERROR SYNDROME - \"Second Album Will Happen\"Drummer Ryan Van Poederooyen (DEVIN TOWNSEND PROJECT, TERROR SYNDROME) checks in with the following update:
"New Terror Syndrome music has been written! I was practising and learning drums for the new Devin Townsend Project album and took a break from learning songs and finally decided to write two new Terror Syndrome songs for the next album. YES, there will be a second album. Dave Padden (ANNIHILATOR) is a busy man with touring, Dave Young and I are busy as well with touring and recording with the Devin Townsend Project. When will the new Terror Syndrome album will be recorded and released? I don't know, when time allows BUT it will happen.
Our debut album has been released world-wide through iTunes and other online distributors for a while now and thanks to all of you who support the band and have purchased the album online. We've played a few rare shows, when time allowed. Trying to tour Terror Syndrome is very difficult with our commitments to DTP and Annihilator. This project was self funded by yours truly from the beginning. We did look at label offers and such but nothing made sense. Terror Syndrome was either going all out with the right support from a label or it was going to be released as a side project for the listening pleasure of our fans. We did not want to settle with a deal that wouldn't get us in the right situation for touring and promoting the band.
With the second record, things will be just as intense, brutal and catchy as the first album. You will also get to hear Dave Padden's influence on the band. It won't disappoint, trust me.
As for live.... there WILL be more shows and touring could be a possibility if time and the right situation should arise. We WILL be back on stage. Mark my words!
Thanks for all your support. We have great fans who have supported us for a long time now. I read all the mail and return it as much as I can. Please remember I'm one hell of a busy dude! Stay posted for new music, it's being written and it WILL be recorded and released.
Thanks for your support, you ALL RULE!" 1
