ALL ENDS\' New Album To Be Produced By ROBERTO LAGHISwedish hard rock band ALL ENDS will enter the studio on November 2 to begin recording its second full-length album for an early 2010 release. The forthcoming CD will mark the recording debut of the group's new singer, Jonna Sailon, who replaced Emma Gelotte (sister of IN FLAMES guitarist Björn Gelotte) in March.
ALL ENDS's new album will be produced by Roberto Laghi, who is said to be one of the most successful engineers and producers in Sweden (having worked on recordings that have collectively sold more than two million copies). He has recorded, mixed and produced such artists as IN FLAMES, MUSTASCH, HARDCORE SUPERSTAR and DIA PSALMA and has mixed the latest album from SONIC SYNDICATE. He primarily works out of IF (In Flames) Studios in Gothenburg, Sweden.
Commented drummer Joseph "Joey" Skansås: "The pre-production is done, the songs are finally ready to be recorded.
"Roberto, Jesper [Strömblad, IN FLAMES guitarist], Tinna [Karlsdotter, vocals] and me had a great (last) day yesterday checking the songs and lyrics over and over.
"We're done writing, now we will start with the real thing.
"We're going to change things along the way, but that's just for the makeup."

THE GATHERING Celebrating 20th Anniversary Drummer Hans Rutten of Dutch/Norwegian rockers THE GATHERING has issued the following update:
"And then, suddenly it is there! The 20th anniversary of THE GATHERING. Exactly 20 years ago my brother René and me, together with Bart Smits on vocals, started this band. No strategy, we just wanted to write songs so we could release a rehearsal tape. Lots of people in Oss were playing in bands, and they triggered us to do something for ourselves.
"Exactly 20 years ago we biked from our parents house in Oss to a little village called Heesch, were we rented a rehearsal room on a farm, and started writing our first song: 'Anthology In Black'. Great, exciting times. I can remember clearly it was freezing cold in that room in wintertime. I see Bart struggling to get the heater on with matches. Every Sunday morning we biked to that farm, most of the time with a big hangover because of a rough Saturday evening, and started early in the morning writing and playing songs.
"A lot of things happened in those 20 years! Good times, bad times, but we always survived. Sometimes we had to struggle our way back and managed to come back stronger than ever. Most of the time we enjoyed playing in this band, seeing a lot of countries, touring all over the world and playing clubs and festivals, making nine studio albums, two DVDs and a lot of EPs, singles (even a small top 50 entrance with 'Strange Machines') and live records, getting to meet some of our fantastic fans.. A lot of positive things to remember!
"And now? A party? Well, we will celebrate this with the upcoming live gigs in the Netherlands and a European tour around January/February 2010! The tour will be around three weeks and we are all really looking forward to hitting the road again. There is some sad news in this though as Marjolein can't go with us the first week of this tour due to her daytime job. Luckily she will be there the second and third week. So, who will play bass guitar then? :) We had only one name in our mind: Hugo Prinsen Geerligs. As many of you know Hugo was with us for 15 years and we were very happy when we asked Hugo and he said yes! Five years have gone and now he will join us and help us out! These gigs will be something special for sure and give our 20th anniversary even more cachet!" 2

DORO PESCH Performs With TARJA TURUNEN At METAL FEMALE VOICES FEST; Video AvailableGerman metal queen Doro Pesch joined former NIGHTWISH singer Tarja Turunen on stage at the Metal Female Voices Fest on October 19, 2009 in Wieze, Belgium to perform the song "The Seer". Watch video footage of Doro's appearance below.
Tarja's version of "The Seer", featuring a duet with Pesch, was included on the "extended special edition" double-CD re-release of Tarja's "My Winter Storm" album, which came out in January. This set was packed with 32 tracks, including the CD "My Winter Storm" with the addition of the song "The Seer" in its original version. The bonus disc presented several new tracks, remixes and live recordings, among them the brand new song "Enough" and "The Seer", featuring Pesch. Both tracks were mixed at Resonate Recording Studios by Toby Wright (SLAYER, KORN, KISS, ALICE IN CHAINS). Also included was the previously unreleased track "Wisdom Of Wind", composed by Jeff Rona and Lisa Gerrard and featuring the Beijing Philharmonic with Qingdao Symphony Orchestra recorded in China. The two-CD set was made available as a digipack deluxe edition including an exclusive poster, new album cover and enhanced booklet containing new photos. 49

LEAVES\' EYES Win Award At Metal Female Voices Fest; Acoustic Video AvailableAccording to a band update, "LEAVES' EYES have won an award for best DVD for En Saga I Belgia at the Metal Female Voices Fest 2009, they also wanna thank all the fans, all the people involved and Phil, Valerie and the whole MFVF Team!
Besides, Leaves’ Eyes have performed a small acoustic set at the MFVF VII. You can watch some of it on You Tube:
As some of the fans already noticed, for two songs at the show in Wieze, Oliver Holzwarth (TARJA, BLIND GUARDIAN) played the bass on two songs as substitude for Alla Fedynitch who suffers from a herniated vertebral disk and paralysis on her right hand which made it only possible for her to just play one song.
Alla has to take a physiotherapeutic treatment for the next six weeks which makes it impossible for her to play the upcoming shows in Italy (October 31st) and the Beauty & The Beast Tour (with Leaves' Eyes, ATROCITY (Werk 80 Show), SIRENIA, ELIS, STREAM OF PASSION).
Alla and the whole band deeply regret all this however the shows will take place!" 6

RAGE: New Album Details RevealedGerman metallers RAGE will release their new album, "Strings To A Web", on February 5, 2010 via Nuclear Blast Records. The CD was recorded at Twilight Hall Studio and was produced by Charlie Bauerfeind (BLIND GUARDIAN, HAMMERFALL). The cover artwork was created by Thomas Ewerhard (AVANTASIA, THERION), and it shows showing the soundchaser as a spider, caught in a web.
"I am really proud of the album, we hardly ever sounded more inspired and it is an absolute highlight in our career," says founding member, bass player and vocalist Peavy Wagner. Drummer André Hilgers adds, "This albums show all the different faces and characters and I call it the most enormous and multifarious record I ever recorded."
"Strings To A Web" includes melodic and anthemic tracks such as "Into The Light" and "The Beggar's Last Dime", as well as powerful thrashers like "Purified" and "Tomorrow Never Comes". But the heart of the record comes in the shape of the 16-minute masterpiece "Empty Hollow", a progressive fairytale that unites everything RAGE is about.
"You can compare 'Empty Hollow' to our 'Lingua Mortis Suite' from the 'Speak Of The Dead' record," says guitarist Victor Smolski. "This song was recorded with an orchestra and is divided into five parts.
"As a band we have discovered a lot of new possibilities and elements, even in Peavy's vocals, my way of playing guitar or the arrangements in André's drumming."
Dayal Patterson of the English magazine Metal Hammer decribed the record as an "intense, frantic and technical assault tempered by clean sung choruses and harmonies!" His spanish collegue Sergi Ramos of Metal Hammer stated, "Everything you love about today's RAGE sound plus a dose of old-school thrown in for good measure."
"Strings To A Web" will be released on vinyl, jewelcase and a special limited digibook with bonus material. 7

HELLOWEEN To Release \'Unarmed - Best Of 25th Anniversary\' In DecemberLong-running German power metallers HELLOWEEN have teamed up with Sony Music in co-operation with SPV Records, to release the band's upcoming albums. The group's long awaited "Unarmed - Best Of 25th Anniversary" album will be made available on the following dates:
Dec. 16 – Japan, Southeast Asia (JVC/Victor)
Jan. 29 - Europe (Sony/SPV)
The U.S. release date has yet to be announced.
The band says, "'Unarmed - Best Of 25th Anniversary' is a big 'thank-you' to all our fans, old and new, all over the world! Instead of putting together a regular greatest-hits compilation featuring our most successful tracks to celebrate this anniversary, we completely rearranged and re-recorded the greatest songs and melodies of our career. Together with our tried and tested producer, Charlie Bauerfeind, we invited many great musicians to guest on this special record, with the doubtless highlight of having the 70-piece Prague Symphonic Orchestra performing 'The Keeper's Trilogy', a 17-minute medley consisting of the songs 'Halloween', 'Keeper Of The Seven Keys' and 'The King for A 1000 Years' — goose bumps guaranteed!
"We aren’t one of those bands who like to celebrate themselves, we just want to say 'thank you' in our own special way to all of you who have followed us through the past 25 years. To us, this album stands for an official celebration.
"It was a big challenge and great experience and we had a lot of fun recording our most important tracks in an entirely new 'outfit' and with new arrangements. We hope you like them!
"Unarmed - Best Of 25th Anniversary" will feature the following tracks:
01. Dr. Stein
02. Future World
03. If I Could Fly
04. Where The Rain Grows
05. The Keeper's Trilogy
06. Eagle Fly Free
07. Perfect Gentleman
08. Forever & One
09. I Want Out
10. Falling To Pieces
11. A Tale That Wasn't Right 13

DIMMU BORGIR Frontman, Ex-GORGOROTH Bassist Join Forces In OV HELL Out of Norway's biggest and darkest metal bands rises OV HELL. This group of Satan's all-stars has been sharpening their teeth in some of black metal's most influential bands for many years. Known as key figures in bands such as DIMMU BORGIR and GORGOROTH, Shagrath and King have come together to bring forward a new chapter in Norwegian black metal history. OV HELL will carry on in the same tradition for which King and Shagrath are known, but the collaboration between the two will mark a new era for them both.
Frost, Ice Dale and Teloch have been recruited for the first full-length release. The album, whcih is due in early 2010 via Indie Recordings, will contain all of the power and blast beats worthy of their evil pedigrees. Expect an assault on all false gods and hypocrisy that is of this world today.
"The first OV HELL release will contain music I've worked on in my GORGOROTH and GOD SEED years," says King. "It's been a little hell to actually see this music form into a band, so the name of the band is quite suitable. Through the first song I got from Shagrath, I knew that he would be the perfect man to join forces with. He has strong individual qualities and a strong will to power. I am very positive that when we finish up this album it will be an album that won't sound like anything we have done before, and with a quality that won't stand back from anything presented in black metal earlier!"
"With both of our demanding music careers and other projects, timing was not on our side," adds Shagrath. "After last year's Inferno festival, King and I yet again joined forces to brainstorm our need to collaborate our passion for dark art. Over the course of the past year, King sent me demo ideas that were so inspiring it made me put my skeptic feelings aside. I wasn't sure if I wanted to have another black metal project but my unquenchable thirst to explore my darkest beast launched the birth OV HELL. The majestic OV HELL has become a band that reflects our roots, raw, ugly, arrogantly blasphemous with uncompromising truth from two influential Norwegian musicians needing to express our primitive side, straight out OV HELL."
Two new tracks, "Devil's Harlot" and "Ghosting", from the yet-untitled upcoming album, has been uploaded to the band's MySpace page.
OV HELL studio lineup:
* Shagrath (DIMMU BORGIR, CHROME DIVISION) - Vocals
* King (GOD SEED, GORGOROTH, JOTUNSPOR, I, SAHG, AUDREY HORNE) - Bass
* Ice Dale (ENSLAVED, I, AUDREY HORNE, TRINACRIA, DEMONAZ) - Guitar
* Frost (SATYRICON, 1349) - Drums
* Teloch (NIDINGR, GOD SEED, 1349, UMORAL) – Guitar 42
