The official lyric video for "I Am Broken Too", the new single from Massachusetts metallers KILLSWITCH ENGAGE, can be seen below. The song is taken from KILLSWITCH ENGAGE's new album, "Atonement", which will be released on August 16 via Metal Blade Records in the U.S. and Sony Music Entertainment in the rest of the world.

The band is donating a portion of the proceeds from "I Am Broken Too" to Hope For The Day, a Chicago-based non-profit organization that focuses on suicide prevention by providing outreach and mental health education through the use of music and art.

"This song is very near and dear to my heart," singer Jesse Leach explains. "I wanted the listener to feel the urgency, the heaviness of the topic as well as a possible connection. Many people suffer from mental illness in one form or another. I want nothing more than for people to feel like they are not alone in this struggle. There is always someone there to help, to listen, and to be there for you. Don't lose hope and don’t let your brokenness consume you. Broken can be fixed, or at the very least, maintained. No one is alone in this fight."

Regarding the decision to work with Hope For The Day, Leach says: "I personally chose Hope For The Day to be the organization we partner with for this song. I admire their tireless efforts to spread mental awareness and suicide prevention. The phrase and the hashtag #ItsOkNotToBeOk is a simple yet powerful statement. I think it coincides with #IamBrokenToo perfectly! Johnny Boucher and his organization are out spreading the powerful message of connectivity and solidarity in this fight for understanding mental health issues. I'm honored to have them on our team for this song and this movement to continue to raise awareness and keep the conversation going for mental health issues."

"'I Am Broken Too' is a song that truly encompasses what we need to be doing in society, talking about what we have been through," Boucher says. "We know that by talking about our experiences, we are able to relate and be encouraged to ask for help. Hope For The Day has been working with KILLSWITCH ENGAGE on breaking the silence around mental health since 2014, and we couldn't be more excited to continue working with them on raising the visibility of resources in our communities."

"Atonement" is the culmination of a trying and turbulent two-year period. KILLSWITCH ENGAGE started kicking around ideas for the album as early as 2017. The band recorded the bulk of the material separately on both coasts. However, in the middle of the process, a polyp developed scar tissue in Leach's throat, forcing him to undergo surgery. The intense three-month recovery ended with speech therapy, vocal therapy, and scream therapy. The band ultimately emerged with an album that is further evidence of their undeniable legacy as one of the most enduring metal bands of the last two decades and beyond.

The elaborate illustration on the "Atonement" album cover was created by none other than talented U.K.-based artist Richey Beckett (METALLICA, MASTODON) with the band's own Mike D'Antonio handling art direction and layout duties.

"Atonement" features guest appearances by the band's former lead singer Howard Jones and TESTAMENT frontman Chuck Billy. It marks the band's third full-length release since the return of Leach, who rejoined the group in 2012.

Leach recently said that he "wouldn't change a thing" about the follow-up to 2016's "Incarnate". "At first, I was a bit crestfallen that a few songs I truly loved didn't make the cut," he wrote on Instagram. "Now after time has passed (and I've not listened to it for a while), I listened with fresh ears today. I gotta say I am quite satisfied! The messages, the tones, the track listing order, the artwork, the overall feel of this album, it just feels fresh!

"I feel there is something for everyone on this one. It captures the wide range of styles and topics that are part of our history as a band as well as pushing things just a touch. It is a pretty amazing feeling as a very picky and perpetually unsatisfied (and fairly insecure) artist to feel accomplished."

Leach appeared on KILLSWITCH's self-titled debut and sophomore album, "Alive Or Just Breathing", before exiting the band. Jones took over on vocals for "The End Of Heartache", "As Daylight Dies" and the 2009 self-titled set before being dismissed from the group seven years ago.

"Incarnate" debuted at No. 6 on the Billboard 200 with first-week sales of 35,000 equivalent album units. In terms of pure album sales, it opened with 33,000 copies.

KILLSWITCH ENGAGE's last release was the "Beyond The Flames: Home Video Part II" two-disc, Blu-ray and CD package.

The official music video for multi SKILLET's new single, "Legendary", can be seen below. The song is taken from the two-time Grammy nominees' tenth full-length album, "Victorious", which will be released on August 2 via Atlantic.

SKILLET frontman John Cooper told Billboard about "Legendary": "'Legendary' is kind of fun because it sounds like SKILLET, but it's actually a little different for SKILLET as well. That opening guitar riff isn't like anything we've ever done on guitar. It's a little bit bluesy, a little bit rock. I thought it was cool."

Regarding the lyrical theme of "Legendary", John said: "The general message of 'Legendary' is to make your life count. You're going to have a lot of hard things in your life. Sometimes it will get you down, but you need to make your life count. You are only here for so long on earth, so every day fight to be legendary."

Cooper said the song also holds a special place in his heart for another more personal reason. "For me, what this song is about is it's to all the people who said that SKILLET would never make it," he said. "They said we were too Christian. We were too pretty. We had too many girls in the band, too many keyboards. It's too musical. It's too this or too that and 23 years later and 10 albums later, we're very unlikely people to still be doing music."

Coupled with the production strides made in the last full-length studio offering, 2016's "Unleashed", John and wife/guitarist/keyboardist Korey took the reins for the bulk of production on "Victorious" — a career first.

"'Unleashed' recharged us, and we returned to what we love about writing," continues John. "It was tight and electronic hard rock. We wanted to keep the sound modern and pull in influences from hip-hop drums and keyboards, while staying riffy. 'Victorious' started there. Our confidence was sparked by the last record and all of the other projects. We were feeling prolific. We thought, 'We can produce our own SKILLET album.' It lit a fire. Korey and I have produced in the past, but nothing quite like this. It's a brand new season."


In support of "Victorious", SKILLET will headline a tour this August joined by SEVENDUST with special guests POP EVIL and DEVOUR THE DAY.

The first full trailer for Rob Zombie's new film, "3 From Hell", can be seen below. The sequel to Zombie's 2005 film "The Devil's Rejects" will bring back Sid Haig, Sheri Moon Zombie and Bill Moseley as the psychopathic Firefly family. It's not clear whether Zombie plans to resurrect the trio from the dead in some kind of supernatural fashion in the new film or has found a way to explain that they survived the climactic shootout at the end of "The Devil's Rejects".

Lionsgate and Saban Films will release "3 From Hell" in nearly 900 theaters on September 16, 17 and 18, 2019 through Fathom's Digital Broadcast Network. Fathom Events will broadcast the unrated version to theaters with each night featuring unique bonus content.

On September 16, moviegoers will see a special video introduction from Rob Zombie with the first 50 attendees at each theater receiving an exclusive poster (while supplies last). On September 17, audiences will be treated to a nearly 30-minute behind-the-scenes look at the making of the film. On September 18, moviegoers will experience the ultimate double feature including "3 From Hell" and "The Devil's Rejects".

"This event is a long time coming," said Zombie. "The journey of these characters has always been special to me and I am thrilled to finally let the fans experience the next episode of the Firefly madness. Sheri Moon reprises the role of Baby, Bill Moseley is back in his role as Otis Driftwood and Sid Haig is returning as the iconic Captain Spaulding. Jeff Daniel Phillips will play Warden Virgil Dallas Harper. Along with the promise of bizarre cameos, the eclectic cast will include legends like Danny Trejo ("Machete"), Clint Howard ("Solo: A Star Wars Story"), Richard Brake ("Batman Begins"), Dee Wallace ("The Howling") and Austin Stoker ("Assault On Precinct 13").

"3 From Hell" was written and directed by Rob Zombie, who also produced alongside CC Capital Arts Entertainment's Mike Elliot. Greg Holstein and Saban Films' Jonathan Saba are executive producers.

Tickets for "3 From Hell" can be purchased beginning Friday, July 19 at www.FathomEvents.com and participating theater box offices. A complete list of theater locations will be available July 19 at the Fathom Events web site (theaters and participants are subject to change).

Back in April, Zombie said that "3 From Hell" has been rated "R" by the Motion Picture Association of America for "strong sadistic violence, language throughout, sexual content, graphic nudity and drug use."

Zombie will also have a new LP out later this year, his first since 2016.

Inspired by legendary pillars of heavy metal such as Iron Maiden, Judas Priest, The Scorpions, and Rush, Iron Kingdom is well known for their energetic and electrifying stage presence, as well as intricate musical melodies that bring listeners back to a time when the genre was in its prime.

Now they are back with a new album, On The Hunt, which is sure to remind people of the glory days of metal. With two new members in the lineup, there are new inspirations and approaches in the music while maintaining the traditional sound.

Since starting on their musical journey in 2015 from the ashes of a previous endeavour, Juliet Ruin has been working tirelessly to make a name for themselves in the Canadian music scene. Making their way across local stages and appearing at several Western Canadian festivals, Juliet Ruin are now finishing up their first full-length album, Old Stardust, Love And Chaos. To introduce this work of art they are releasing the first single, "Seasons" (lyric video below).

Since releasing their self titled EP in 2017, Juliet Ruin has been working hard to further cement their sound and create a brand that is all their own. They describe their new album as staying true to their roots while continuing to tinker with their sound: “Old Stardust, Love, And Chaos stays true to a lot of our root qualities in terms of catchy hooks and overall groove, but fans can expect a lot of new and even somewhat experimental things on the album as well. Lyrically speaking this album delves into a little bit deeper subject matter than the EP, focusing a lot on personal introspection and mental health, as well as general societal concerns from differing degrees of headspace; from optimism to apathy.”

The single is about the goddess of spring and hell in Greek mythology and serves as a nod to badass women everywhere. The music coming is laced with fury, reflection, and tears.

Juliet Ruin expands of the meaning behind the single: “Our first single off the album, 'Seasons', is a mainly clean-vocals, poetic retelling of Persephone and Hades in Greek mythology. 'Seasons' has an emotional vibe to it and celebrates the balance of powers within the spectrum of femininity, as well as the metaphorical ties between seasons and nature the mother.”

The ten-track album, Old Stardust, Love, And Chaos, will be available on September 6.

Robert Trujillo and Kirk Hammett played a cover version of RAMMSTEIN's "Engel" during METALLICA's July 6 concert at Olympiastadion in Berlin, Germany. Professionally filmed video footage of the performance can be seen below.

"Engel" was part of the fun and unusual feature METALLICA added to its shows on the band's recent tours: at each stop, Hammett and Trujillo have been covering songs from some of their musical heroes — often choosing songs that are far removed from the band's traditional metal sound. The "doodles," as the band refers to them in their setlists, have been showing up right before Trujillo's solo on "(Anesthesia) Pulling Teeth". The songs are pared-down interpretations — just bass and guitar and sometimes Trujillo singing in front of music stands.

METALLICA is continuing to tour in support of its latest album, "Hardwired… To Self-Destruct", which debuted at No. 1 on The Billboard 200 album chart, selling 291,000 copies in its first week of release.

The "WorldWired" tour has played more than 130 shows across the world since its 2016 launch.

Last November, drummer Lars Ulrich told The Mercury News that the trek could last through early 2020.

THE DARK ELEMENT, the project featuring former NIGHTWISH vocalist Anette Olzon and Finnish guitarist and songwriter Jani Liimatainen, will release its second album, "Songs The Night Sings", on November 8 via Frontiers Music Srl. The follow-up to 2017's "The Dark Element" was mixed by Jacob Hansen, who has previously worked with VOLBEAT and AMARANTHE, among others.

Joining Olzon and Liimatainen in THE DARK ELEMENT's current recording lineup are Jonas Kuhlberg on bass and Rolf Pilve on drums.

Last fall, Liimatainen stated about the musical direction of the new THE DARK ELEMENT material: "I think the album picks up where the last album left off. Now that me and Anette have one album together under our belts, we have found the style we want to pursue and also the ideal way of working together. Given all this, I think it's safe to say that with the next album you'll get even more of what made the first album so good, only it's gonna be bigger, better and bolder!"

Anette is widely known for being the immaculate voice on the hit albums from NIGHTWISH, "Dark Passion Play" and "Imaginareum". Jani has been busy in CAIN'S OFFERING alongside STRATOVARIUS singer Timo Kotipelto, but left a deep mark on the minds of all power metal fans thanks to his time in SONATA ARCTICA.

THE DARK ELEMENT made its live debut in June 2018 at the Sweden Rock Festival in Sölvesborg, Sweden. The band also completed a short Japanese tour and performed at the Frontiers Rock Sweden festival in October at Fryshuset Klubben in Stockholm.

The official lyric video for the song "Kingdom Come Down" from Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame inductee and JOURNEY member Jonathan Cain can be seen below. The track is taken from his fourth solo album in as many years, "More Like Jesus", which was released on May 3 via Identity Records with The Fuel Music distribution.

Back in April, Cain released "More Like Jesus"'s title track as the first lyric video and single to digital retailers and streaming outlets internationally. Following its release, "More Like Jesus" was immediately dubbed a "Hot Track" by iTunes and was added to multiple Spotify playlists, including New Music Friday Christian.

Written in response to Cain asking himself what he should pray for and what would be his ultimate New Year's resolution in 2018, "More Like Jesus" became his personal anthem that helped carry him through a huge, 58-city arena/stadium tour with JOURNEY that played to over one million people last year. An integral part to one of the most popular American rock bands of all time, Cain is intent on "walking his life out more in the mind of Christ."

"These days that's what I'm writing, and I'm having a blast with it," Cain told Billboard. "I'm recording in my new studio and I get to play with the A-list players in Nashville… I'm just writing all the time, y'know — for JOURNEY, too, but this thing with worship music is really fun. According to The Blast, Donna D'Errico claims her ex-husband, rocker Nikki Sixx (Mötley Crüe, Sixx:A.M.), is using creative interpretations of their divorce agreement to get out of paying her what she claims he owes.

According to court documents obtained by The Blast, the former Baywatch star claims Sixx owes her $24,771 in back child support for their daughter, Frankie Sixx.

D'Errico claims their child support agreement calls for Sixx to pay $8,257 per month in child support until the later of two dates: March 31, 2019 or until Frankie is no longer enrolled in high school.

AEROSMITH guitarist Joe Perry has provided an update on his health status, eight months after he was hospitalized following a guest performance with Billy Joel on stage at Madison Square Garden in New York City. More than two years earlier, Perry collapsed during a HOLLYWOOD VAMPIRES gig at Brooklyn, New York's Ford Amphitheater at Coney Island Boardwalk.

"I'm doing really good," Joe told StarTribune in a new interview. "I don't have any problem now."

Perry said his 2016 collapse was caused by "over-the-top fatigue," while his hospitalization after the Billy Joel concert happened because he "couldn't get my breath and I had to sit down. The next thing I know I'm getting oxygen. They call it COPD [chronic obstructive pulmonary disease]. It's caused from smoking for years.

"I quit smoking," he added. "I haven't had a drink since that night. I'll be around for a while."

Perry's VAMPIRES bandmate Alice Cooper told Rolling Stone that Joe was exhausted when he fell ill at the 2016 gig, and had not eaten in two days.

AEROSMITH kicked off its "Deuces Are Wild" Las Vegas residency in April. The band is scheduled to play 17 more shows in Las Vegas dates before the end of the year — four in September, four in October, seven in November, and two in December. The band also has multiple-night "Deuces Are Wild" engagements booked at MGM properties in National Harbor, Maryland; Atlantic City, New Jersey; and Springfield, Massachusetts.

In addition to the "Deuces Are Wild" shows, AEROSMITH is scheduled to make a festival appearance on July 19 at the Twin Cities Summer Jam in Shakopee, Minnesota.

WHITESNAKE is touring in support of its latest album, "Flesh & Blood", which was released on May 10 via Frontiers Music Srl. The disc follows the 2011 critically acclaimed studio album "Forevermore" and 2015's "The Purple Album", a reimagining of DEEP PURPLE classics from WHITESNAKE mastermind's David Coverdale's time in that band.

Joining Coverdale on "Flesh & Blood" is the powerhouse band comprised of Reb Beach and Joel Hoekstra on guitar, Michael Devin on bass, Tommy Aldridge on drums, and Michele Luppi on keyboards.


Since joining the band four years ago, and just in time for 2015's "The Purple Album", Chicago native Joel Hoekstra has really come into his own, not only as a highly impressive axe-slinger, but also as a very accomplished songwriter too, co-writing six of the songs for "Flesh & Blood" with Coverdale.


Guitarist Reb Beach, who originally joined WHITESNAKE in 2002, has stepped up to become the group's bandleader and guides the band to implement Coverdale's musical vision. As well as bringing his impressive musical chops to the band, Reb has co-written five songs on the new album, the fourth studio album he has appeared on, commencing with 2008's highly acclaimed "Good To Be Bad".


It was the "Good To Be Bad" follow-up, "Forevermore" (2011), that saw the debut of bassist Michael Devin. The New Englander's four-string-depth-charge-bass-bombs definitively underpin and drive the sound of WHITESNAKE in the 21st century.


Rounding out the rhythm section is David's longest serving 'Snake, the renowned drummer and unstoppable percussionist Tommy Aldridge, who has been with WHITESNAKE in some capacity for 30 years. Tommy made his debut with WHITESNAKE way back in 1987 in the "Still Of The Night" video, becoming a mainstay behind the kit for successive albums and tours.


Last, but certainly not least, the band is completed by the inventive keyboards and vocals of Italian maestro Michele Luppi, who made his live debut in 2015, as documented on "The Purple Tour" live CD/DVD (2018).

The current incarnation of the band carries on the long and unwavering tradition of mainman David Coverdale being surrounded by cream of the crop players who go all in to bring fans the best hard rock humanly possible.

WHITESNAKE's "Flesh & Blood" world tour features songs from the new studio record alongside the band's biggest hits and songs from one of the greatest back catalogues in rock 'n' roll history, spanning over 40 years.

Fan-filmed video footage of ADLER'S APPETITE, the band featuring former GUNS N' ROSES drummer Steven Adler, performing on July 12 at the Golden Nugget in Las Vegas, Nevada can be seen below.

The Vegas concert marked Adler's first live appearance since he was hospitalized for a self-inflicted stab wound.

On June 27, local authorities responded to a call shortly after 6:30 p.m. for a possible suicide attempt at Adler's Studio City, California, home.

A spokesperson at the Los Angeles Fire Department confirmed to People that they were called to the address for a possible stabbing and transported one patient to the local hospital via ambulance.

Adler's representative later told TMZ that the stabbing was not a suicide attempt and was simply an accident. The rep would not specify what caused the accident except to describe it as a "very minor, superficial wound." He also insisted that Adler has been sober for several years.

Steven was the drummer for GUNS N' ROSES from 1985 to 1990. He was eventually fired from the band due to his drug addiction, which caused him to spiral down into depression and more drug use.


Adler's autobiography, "My Appetite for Destruction: Sex, and Drugs, and Guns N' Roses", came out in July 2010. In the book, Adler tells all, fearlessly addressing his struggles with heroin and crack addiction; his financial ruin after being kicked out of GN'R; his shattered marriage; and the severe health problems that nearly claimed his life on several occasions.

GUNS N' ROSES was inducted into the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame in 2012. Adler, guitarist Slash and bassist Duff McKagan attended the ceremony, while singer Axl Rose and founding guitarist Izzy Stradlin stayed home.

Finland-based symphonic metal masters, Nightwish, have begun work on their upcoming ninth studio album, set to be released in spring 2020.

Below you will find a statement from Jukka Nevalainen, who's been the drummer in the band since their 1997 debut album, Angels Fall First:

“It has now been five years since my difficult decision, due to severe insomnia, to step aside from the Vehicle of Spirit of Nightwish. This included the previous studio album and the tours which followed.

"As I then expected, it turned out to be the right thing to do. These days I'm doing fantastic, and hardly ever need to deal with any sleeping issues. It also dawned on me that having more time to merely focus on band - related things happening behind the curtains made all the difference.

"Having said this, I have decided not to push my luck by returning to the band. My dear pal Kai Hahto will take my place as a full-time member of the band. I will continue to take care of the band's businesses in the background, and I'm very much looking forward to what other adventures life has to offer!

"My sincere thank yous for the band and the fans for the glorious time we shared!“ - Jukka

Former NIGHTWISH singer Tarja Turunen joined Dutch symphonic rockers WITHIN TEMPTATION on stage last night (Saturday, July 13) at the Masters Of Rock festival in Vizovice, Czech Republic to perform the song "Paradise (What About Us?)". Fan-filmed video footage of her appearance can be seen below.

The studio version of "Paradise (What About Us?)" — also featuring Tarja — can be found on WITHIN TEMPTATION's sixth studio album, "Hydra", which came out in January 2014.

WITHIN TEMPTATION frontwoman Sharon Den Adel previously stated about the band's collaboration with Turunen: "When we had written the first version of 'Paradise' and listened back to the demo we'd recorded and the epic power of the song, we thought of Tarja instantly. How well this track would fit her classical voice and how extra special it would be if we sang it together. The more we thought about this wild idea, the more excited we got about it."

Following several video trailers teasing the track, fans speculated on the band's Facebook page who the duet would be with, some guessing it couldn't possibly be a "competing" artist like Tarja. However, the two singers had no hesitation joining forces, having never thought of themselves as competitors. Sharon continued: "Of course, I didn't know what to expect from Tarja, as we'd never actually met in person 'till June [of 2013]. Our first encounter was via a Skype call we'd set up to discuss the collaboration and we immediately clicked, not only creatively but personally. After we'd spoken, it felt completely natural that we would do this together."

Tarja added: "It was very nice to finally meet Sharon and the WITHIN TEMPTATION guys. I truly appreciate the invitation and the opportunity to work with them on their song 'Paradise'. So wonderful that they thought of me. I hope our fans will like this 'girl power' duet!"

The song and accompanying music video share a central theme; that only constructive cooperation can lead to creation. To establish a new paradise, rising from the ashes of the old, we must work together.

Kobra And The Lotus, who are gearing up for the release of their sixth album, have posted a brief audio snippet from the record along with a look at the band's updated logo. Check out the clip below.

The new album from Greek thrash metal tank Suicidal Angels, entitled Years Of Aggression, will be released on August 9 via NoiseArt Records. Today, the band releases the second single, entitled "Endless War". Watch the lyric video below

The album was produced by the band itself, which has for the first time in years a consistent lineup - making them stronger than ever before. Nine songs, driven by irrepressible rage, were finally mixed by Jens Bogren at the Fascination Street Studios in Örebro, Sweden, and mastered by Tony Lindgren.

Progressive metal prodigies, Sifting, will release their upcoming third full-length album, entitled The Infinite Loop ,on September 27 via Eclipse Records. The album was produced by Steve Evetts (The Dillinger Escape Plan, Suicide Silence, Poison the Well), mixed & mastered by Jamie King (Between The Buried And Me, The Contortionist), and the album's artwork was designed by Jimmy León.

The Infinite Loop is a masterpiece of progressive metal featuring 70 minutes of mind-blowing jedi-like musicianship, perhaps only rivalled by the likes of Rush, Megadeth, Dream Theater or Metallica. That's a big statement to make, but if one takes the time to listen, the songs on this album back it up.

The first single, "A Critical Affair," simply shreds the listener's ears with fast-paced, finger-twisting riffs and unbelievable drumbeats that one would think could only be performed by a human-octopus hybrid. The second single, entitled "Stop Calling Me Liberty," could very well be considered a modern-day masterpiece with its pummeling verse-chorus-verse structure, insanely epic guitar solos and acoustic reprieve in the middle of the song. More importantly, however, are the lyrics in which the Statue of Liberty comes to life and tells the world how the concept of liberty has been adulterated towards the agenda of the first-world elites.

The third single, "Enough," takes things down a notch and tackles the scandal of college admissions and parents providing material necessities to their children instead of what they really need - quality company, love, affection and acceptance. Other highlights on the album include "Ghost of A Lie," which features Derek Sherinian (Sons of Apollo, Dream Theater) on keyboards, and of course the title track, "The Infinite Loop." One could go on and on about each song on this album, as there's just so damn much to say about it, but in the end... you just NEED to listen to it for yourself. Open your mind to something new and discover the magic of Sifting.

The band have also revealed the first music video from the album for the single "A Critical Affair", which was directed by Alejandro Fumero Gil. Watch below.

Acclaimed for his work as a founding member of prog metal standouts Haken, as well as Nova Collective, Mike Portnoy’s Shattered Fortress, and as a Strandberg Guitars associate artist, Richard Henshall is now prepared to release his debut solo album, The Cocoon. The first single "Twisted Shadows", can be heard below.

Henshall says this about the track: "'Twisted Shadows' was born from some late night improvisations at my piano. I started playing an infectious groove-based idea which I later developed into a full band arrangement. The music is sparked by the quirkier and more atonal side of my sound, alongside some darker and heavier influences, with the likes of Prince, Frank Zappa, Dear Hunter and Meshuggah being primary sources of inspiration. I’ve celebrated the contrasting elements within the music and consciously pushed them in opposing directions, to give the song a strong sense of juxtaposition. Recording lead vocals was a little daunting at first but ultimately became an extremely enjoyable and rewarding process. The lyrics in this track help develop an overarching concept that ties the album together.

"Conner Green and Matt Lynch have done an amazing job of locking down the rhythm section which is the key element driving this song. I’m also extremely honoured to have my good friends Jordan Rudess and Ross Jennings as guest musicians on this track; they really helped bring the music to life with their incredible performances. Last but not least, Simon Grove did a stellar job of tying everything together with his killer mix and master."

Video footage from the first-ever heavy metal knitting championship, which was held this past Thursday, July 11 in Joensuu, Finland, can be seen below.

12 groups took part in the event, with finalists coming from Denmark, Finland, Japan, Latvia, Russia, Sweden, the U.K. and the U.S.

The winner of the competition was Japan's GIGA BODY METAL. Second place went to CRAFTS WITH ELLEN from Denmark, while 9" NEEDLES from the USA placed third.

Performances were rated by a jury according to their attitude, performing skills, how they captured their audience and by "Heavyknittinghood."

To enter the competition, knitters were asked to download the song "Fight Or Die" by Joensuu thrash metal band MANIAC ABDUCTOR, then upload a one-minute video clip of themselves knitting along with the music to YouTube.

Finland is the promised land of heavy metal music. There are 50 heavy metal bands per 100,000 Finnish citizens, which is astonishingly many and actually more than anywhere else in the whole world. The number of needlework enthusiasts is equally high, as, according to even the most modest estimates, there are hundreds of thousands of people in Finland who are immersed various kinds of needlework crafts, knitting included. What combines them both is the great joy of creativity. When playing guitar as well as knitting stitches it is all about the pleasure of creating something cool with your hands. And — it's all about the attitude!

In heavy metal knitting, needlework and music become united like never before. On the same stage, accompanied by a million-dollar guitar solo, with hair flowing in the air, there’s heavy metal music and knitting, shaking hands. Knitting to the rhythm of heavy metal music can be compared to playing air guitar — which is a Finnish way to goof around as well. In heavy metal knitting, the knitter becomes a part of the band, showing their best needlework tricks as the heavy riffs echo on the background. The knitter takes part in the jam while their balls of yarn and knitting needles swish through the air...

"Living The Dream" was released in September via Slash's own label Snakepit Records, in partnership with Roadrunner Records.

"Living The Dream" is Slash's fourth solo album, and third with Slash and his bandmates Myles Kennedy (vocals), Brent Fitz (drums), Todd Kerns (bass and vocals) and Frank Sidoris (guitar and vocals). The artwork was created by renowned visual artist Ron English.


"It's a natural progression from 'World On Fire', for sure," Slash said of the new album. "I think it has a little more diversity — some of the ideas are not really what I would consider to be predictable." At the same time, he adds, "The record is also a bit more structured, with songs that are shorter and more to the point than last time." Kennedy concurred. "I don't know that there are as many of those sort of 'epic sonic journeys' that we took on the last record," he said. "Although there are songs that take you on a trip, like 'Lost Inside The Girl'. But overall, a lot of these songs — things like 'My Antidote', 'Read Between The Lines', 'Slow Grind' — they're pretty precise statements, and they definitely fall in line with the type of sound we're known for. There's a certain type of sonic calling card that we've developed over the years, and you can hear it front and center on this record."

"It's just a snapshot of where we're at," Slash continued, summing up "Living The Dream". "Which is what we're going for with each new album — to be present in what we're doing and come up with something that is representative of and reflects this moment in time."

Fresh off the success of Derek Davis' #1 iTunes Blues Songs chart single, "Mississippi Mud", comes the latest single and video release from his  album, Resonator Blues. Davis digs deep into the delta blues catalog to unleash a cover of Son House's signature song, "Death Letter".

Lyrically, the song is about a man who learns of the death of the woman he loves through a letter delivered to him early in the morning. The narrator later views her body on the cooling board at the morgue, attends her funeral and returns to his home in a state of depression.

The vision of Derek Davis, who not only sings and plays all the different guitars and bass on the record, also does a masterful job creating lyrical landscapes with amoving production. The voice of Derek Davis is unmistakable. He belts out each song with emotion, passion and power, using his amazing gift to reach the listener and weave his tales. The voice is gritty yet melodic and every song is sung as it should be. His guitar work is exceptional, raw, and captivating.

To sum it all up, Davis has made one hell of an American blues album. In a day and age where it seems music is made by computers and programmers that have sucked the life out of the music of today, it’s great to find a hidden gem that can and will stand the test of time. Vinyl anyone?

Swedish classic doom metal outfit Isole have released the official video for "Beyond The Horizon", for the song taken from their upcoming album Dystopia. The album is due out on August 23rd on CD/LP/MC/Digital. Physical packages will be available for pre-order soon at Hammerheart.

Isole will tour Europe alongside In The Woods, Ereb Altor and Shores Of Null. Check out the dates below.

Danko Jones recently checked in with some important news for their Australian fans:

"Due to a last-minute scheduling conflict we have been forced to postpone our Australian shows that were due to take place in May / June to new dates in September. We apologise for the inconvenience. Existing tickets will be honoured at all rescheduled dates."

On the heels of the successful launch of their new album, A Rock Supreme, Danko Jones has announced plans to join Volbeat on an extensive European tour, which kicks off September 23 in Newcastle, England. Tickets go on sale May 24.

The tour - many shows of which take place in arenas - is not the first time the like-minded groups have crossed paths. In 2013, Danko Jones supported Volbeat on an American tour, and in 2016, Danko Jones' namesake frontman Danko Jones contributed guest vocals to Volbeat's #1 Active Rock hit “Black Rose”. He later joined Volbeat to perform the song at their 2017 concert in Copenhagen, Denmark, which was captured on the recently-released Blu-Ray and DVD Let's Boogie! Live From Telia Parken. More recently, Jones joined Volbeat in London, Ontario (Canada) on May 9 for another performance of “Black Rose”.

Longtime NIGHTWISH drummer Jukka Nevalainen, who stepped away from the band's touring and recording activities five years ago, has confirmed his permanent exit from the group. His replacement will be Kai Hahto, who has been playing with NIGHTWISH since the summer of 2014.

Nevalainen explained in a statement: "It has now been five years since my difficult decision, due to severe insomnia, to step aside from the Vehicle of Spirit of NIGHTWISH. This included the previous studio album and the tours which followed.

"As I then expected, it turned out to be the right thing to do. These days I'm doing fantastic, and hardly ever need to deal with any sleeping issues. It also dawned on me that having more time to merely focus on band-related things happening behind the curtains made all the difference.

"Having said this, I have decided not to push my luck by returning to the band. My dear pal Kai Hahto will take my place as a full-time member of the band. I will continue to take care of the band's businesses in the background, and I'm very much looking forward to what other adventures life has to offer!

"My sincere thank yous for the band and the fans for the glorious time we shared!"

NIGHTWISH has begun working on its ninth studio album, to be released in the spring of 2020. Keyboardist and main songwriter Tuomas Holopainen recently said that "all the songs" for the follow-up to 2015's "Endless Forms Most Beautiful" album have been completed musically. "The arrangement process, the rehearsals are gonna take months — it's gonna take all of [2019], actually," he said. "But all the songs that are gonna be included on the album, with the titles, with the album title, everything's now there. So from now on, it's just the arranging and the polishing the corners."

NIGHTWISH's next album will mark the band's second full-length release with singer Floor Jansen, who has been touring with the group since 2012.

NIGHTWISH spent most of 2018 on the road in support of its "Decades" compilation.

About the album Plant says: “I needed a drummer that could kick ass. Phil Collins, his solo career had just taken it off … I think it was Face Value. Phil said that everything I do I've built on the influence of John Bonham, and I wanna play on your record. I said 'you can’t play on this track because Cozy Powell is playing on it.' Cozy we new very from those days around the Midlands. Like John, you could hear him yelling as he was playing.”
