Exclusive: SONS OF SILVER Featuring Past / Present Members Of PEARL JAM, CANDLEBOX, SKILLET Unveil Acoustic Version Of “Never Enough” SingleKnown for their impassioned rock vocals and brazen, hook-laden melodies, acclaimed indie alt rock band Sons Of Silver (formerly Pete RG) are showing a more intimate side to their music with the release of a rare acoustic version of their hit song “Never Enough”.
Describing the song as a depiction of “society’s insatiable appetite for more,” lead singer Peter Argyropoulos says that it is a comment on how “we as individuals and collectively, seem to be wanting more and more. It’s a sort of insatiable appetite. Meanwhile, no matter how much we get, we’re still unfulfilled by the things we bring into our lives.”
While the lyrics were penned by Argyropoulos, the music, like most of the band’s songs, were written as a collaborative effort among the members. In fact, he says, it wasn’t until Drummer Dave Krusen (Original Pearl Jam Member) began playing an entirely different song during rehearsal that the idea for “Never Enough” was born.
“Dave began playing a beat that caught my attention so I started playing along with an early form of what would become the final main riff to the song,” Argyropoulos said. “Adam (bassist, Adam Kury) and Kevin (guitarist, Kevin Haaland) jumped in a few moments later and we were off and running. Brina (keyboardist, Brina Kabler) is our audio engineer. She was behind the glass recording the jam and noting highlights. One of those highlights included the phrase ‘there’s no end, it’s never enough’. That became the foundation of the lyrics.”
Immediately resonating with fans after its release this spring, Sons Of Silver decided to re-work the song into a stripped-down version. The acoustic version of “Never Enough” was recorded at The Bunker recording studios in Brooklyn, NY with renowned producer Dean Dichoso while the band had a break during their last tour.
To celebrate the release of the special version of “Never Enough,” the band will also be unveiling a video featuring live, in-studio performance footage of each of the members.
The group’s collaborative song-writing style, signature sound and collective years of experience, is what make Sons Of Silver such a phenom in the indie alt scene. In fact, each of its members has dedicated his or her entire careers to performing in platinum-selling and award-winning outfits. In addition to Krusen (who was recently inducted into the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame with Pearl Jam) and Argyropoulos (who served as the frontman for the renowned Last December) the group comprises such all-star performers as Candlebox Bassist Adam Kury, former Skillet Guitarist Kevin Haaland and Keyboardist and esteemed Engineer Brina Kabler.

EXES FOR EYES Return With “Hold On” Single; Of Strength And Sorrow Album Out In AugustCanada’s Exes For Eyes, the musical vision of Dave Sheldon (ex-Man With Target, Annihilator) and the lyrical conception of vocalist and frontman Big James (Stab.Twist.Pull, Endast, Authors) have left their hiatus to bring you a new album Of Strength and Sorrow to follow their 2014 album Tongues Like Figure Eights. Having maintained a general theme of blindness, both figuratively and literally, the new album departs from those themes.
“Hold On” is the first single off this album and is an excellent introduction to the release that can simply be defined as "heavy as fuck".
Having taken the last four years since their previous album, Exes For Eyes have shown that they have matured sonically, completing an album that is darker without abandoning the soundscapes their fans have grown to love with their massive groove. Taking inspiration from composers such as John Williams, Danny Elfman, John Carpenter and Hans Zimmer they are new instrumental layers that add a definitive depth to the album. Exes For Eyes comments on the writing process behind the massive 65-minute album:
“The writing process took so much out of us this album, so the idea of not releasing a song because 'it doesn’t sound like the other ones' didn’t even cross our minds. I feel like we knew we were going to release it ourselves on our terms again, so the idea of a 65-minute album didn’t seem outrageous. You’ll have your favourites the same way we have ours, but these are the songs and we want you to hear all of them. We meant every note and every word.”
Metal fans, especially those who follow Slipknot, Soilwork and Periphery can experience utter brutality and sheer beauty in lyrics that stem from a personal place coupled with heavy riffs and ferocious drumming found in the single “Hold On”.
The album download for Of Strength and Sorrow will be available for only $1 EXCLUSIVELY as of August 13th, 2019, at ExesForEyes.com.

MASS Issue Unreleased 1982 Album Fighter On Vinyl And CDU.S. heavy metallers Mass recorded their first album for A&M Records, Fighter, but was eventually put on the shelf by the label due to the band’s poor management.
After 37 years and with the help from Roxx Productions and No Life Til Metal, Mass has shared their very first recordings the way they were intended to be heard – raw and energetic! Fighter was produced Tom Allom (Judas Priest) and is available on black or white vinyl, and on CD with never before released bonus tracks. Order copies at this location.
Fighter is a heavy album, especially considering it was recorded in the early 1980's. The band offer a lot of variety with heavier tracks, some lighter moments and plenty of killer hooks. A few of the tracks from Fighter were later re-recorded for New Birth including "Watch Her Walk", "Too Far Gone", "Voyager" and "Do You Love Me". However, the raw ‘80's production along with some excellent modern mastering techniques gives these recordings the edge over the New Birth versions. As well, "Bad Man's Reputation" was released a few years ago as a bonus track on the Best Ones CD. The rest of the songs are exclusive to the vinyl version. The heavier tracks such as "Watch Her Walk", "Too Far Gone", "Slip of the Tongue" and "Bad Man's Reputation" feature some searing guitar work. One of the biggest highlights is the title track, a doomy heavy metal song with a darker feel than some of the more upbeat songs. Fighter was recorded on analog equipment and belongs on vinyl.
The artwork has been completely re-worked by Scott Waters of NoLifeTilMetal, along with the help of Mass vocalist Louis St August. Both the LP and CD are printed on a special uncoated paper stock and features photos of the original band members, as would have been seen if the album had been released in 1982. The inserts include liner notes by Louis St August as well as lyrics and period-accurate photos.

CEREMONY Release Music Video For Title Track Of Upcoming In The Spirit World Now AlbumCeremony have revealed their new video and album title track, "In The Spirit World Now". Frontman and lyricist Ross Farrar explains, "The spirit world came about through the reading of Saul Bellow's 'Humboldt's Gift'. The novel's fictitious character, Von Humboldt Fleisher, writes a long letter to the protagonist, Charlie Citrine, which announces, We are not natural beings, but supernatural beings. I understood it as a moment of praise and ran away with it."
In The Spirit World Now marks a milestone for the legendary Californian punk outfit who have stayed true to themselves as songwriters throughout massive sonic growth throughout their long, storied career. It's a collection of their most driving, intelligent songs to date and sees Ceremony take another step into a space they can truly call their own, as one of punk's most unique and forward-thinking bands.
Produced by Will Yip (Title Fight, Circa Survive, Turnover) and mixed by engineer Ben Greenberg (The Men, Pharmakon, Hank Wood And The Hammerheads), In The Spirit World Now grows with each listen, balancing Yip's pop sensibilities with Greenberg's noise-punk influence through dramatic, shining synthesizer hooks and a mature vocal strategy. Drummer Jake Casarotti and bassist Justin Davis power through the 11-tracks as a strong yet sparse backbone that interlocks with guitarists Andy Nelson and Anzaldo to create a pop-centric, post-punk canvas for frontman Ross Farrar to expel the most vulnerable parts of himself.
In The Spirit World Now, out August 23 via Relapse, sees Ceremony at the height of their creative output, as the always-evolving Rohnert Park quintet take various influences from post punk and rock to create one of the summer's most compelling and infectious records.

IGGY POP To Release 'Free' Album In SeptemberIggy Pop will release his new album, "Free", on September 6 via Loma Vista. It is the first new Iggy Pop LP since 2016's "Post Pop Depression".
While it follows the highest-charting album of Iggy's career, "Free" has virtually nothing in common sonically with its predecessor — or with any other Iggy Pop album.
"Free", the eponymous single, is available to stream and purchase on all platforms
On the process that led Iggy and principal players Leron Thomas and Noveller to create this uniquely somber and contemplative entry in the Iggy Pop canon, Iggy says: "This is an album in which other artists speak for me, but I lend my voice...
"By the end of the tours following 'Post Pop Depression', I felt sure that I had rid myself of the problem of chronic insecurity that had dogged my life and career for too long. But I also felt drained. And I felt like I wanted to put on shades, turn my back, and walk away. I wanted to be free. I know that's an illusion, and that freedom is only something you feel, but I have lived my life thus far in the belief that that feeling is all that is worth pursuing; all that you need — not happiness or love necessarily, but the feeling of being free. So this album just kind of happened to me, and I let it happen."
"Free" track listing:
01. Free
02. Loves Missing
03. Sonali
04. James Bond
05. Dirty Sanchez
06. Glow In The Dark
07. Page
08. We Are The People

BATUSHKA Share “Pierwyj Czas” VideoEmerging from the shadows of eastern Poland back in 2015, black metal band Batushka have established themselves as one of the modern era's most powerful and evocative bands. Harnessing the fire and fury of arcane black metal and channeling it through the reverberant grandeur of ancient rituals of worship, the band's debut album Litourgiya stood apart from the extreme metal hordes: a monument to originality, depth and dark mysticism that swiftly cast its spell over the metal underground and beyond.
Last week, the band released its sophomore album Hospodi through Metal Blade Records. New video, “Pierwyj Czas”, is streaming below.
Named after an Old Church Slavonic word for "God," Hospodi enhances all the unique qualities that made the band such an instant phenomenon, while offering an entirely distinct and fresh sensory experience. The album boasts the most ferocious and bewitching songs the band has penned to date - along with a newfound sense of rock swagger.
"The whole album is a concept based on the Liturgy Of Death, the prayers for the dead, and Orthodox funeral rites and dirges," said the band. "It's all about a ritual that involves the dead and the mourners. We also used a lot of old folk songs and elegies from our homeland. These are sung during the wake, around the casket, in the deceased person's home. Nowadays only a few older people know them and still sing them accordingly in our region. We decided to cherish that tradition and I'm glad that with our album these songs and rites will survive."
Find order options here.
Hospodi is available in several configurations, listed below:
-Limited edition digibook CD

SHARON OSBOURNE Says BOB DAISLEY Is A 'Sad Old F**k' Who 'Can't Get Over The Fact' That He Was Fired From OZZY's BandSharon Osbourne has slammed Bob Daisley as a "sad old fuck" who "can't get over the fact" that he was fired from Ozzy Osbourne's solo band.
Daisley, who played bass on the first two Ozzy solo albums, sued the Osbournes several times over unpaid performance royalties. Daisley continues to get paid his songwriting royalties for the songs he wrote on Ozzy's "Blizzard Of Ozz" album and the follow-up, "Diary Of A Madman".
Sharon spoke about Bob's involvement in her husband's career during a recent wide-ranging interview with Celebrity Access Encore.
Asked if Ozzy's first post-BLACK SABBATH album was initially intended as a band project, Sharon responded: "Never, never, never. The bass player, Bob Daisley, has said that over the years. He's a sad old fuck that played on two of the greatest albums in the [rock] genre, and he can't get over the fact that we didn't use him further. Like it was, 'Goodbye. See ya.' And he's never gotten over it. And several lawsuits later — he tried to sue us three times — each time thrown out of court. Thrown out of court three times. He's tried to change history, and it just won't fit. It was never a band. There's no way. It was Ozzy Osbourne."
Sharon also talked about her decision to remove the playing of Daisley and drummer Lee Kerslake from the 2002 reissues of "Blizzard Of Ozz" and "Diary Of A Madman", replacing the original recordings with tracks from Ozzy's then-current bassist and drummer, Robert Trujillo and Mike Bordin, respectively. Admitting that she is a "mean bitch," Sharon said the tracks were re-recorded with new players "just to teach [Bob] a lesson."
According to Sharon, when she and Ozzy and were putting together his first solo band, they were in Los Angeles first, and then in England. "We started off in L.A. yeah. That is where Ozzy found Randy [Rhoads]. Couldn't find a bass player or a drummer. Bob Daisley had been working with Jet Records for awhile with WIDOWMAKER. He was like a session player. If you look up Bob Daisley's list of credits, I think he was in about 12 different bands because he was a session player. So my brother said, 'Well, we've worked with Bob. Why don't you try him because he's a good bass player?' And he is and was a good bass player. So we said, 'All right, we will try him.' Then when we couldn't find a drummer, Bob said, 'I have a mate, Lee Kerslake, looking for a gig' and that's how Lee Kerslake played on the first two records as well."
Sharon's latest comments come just nine months after she and Ozzy announced that Daisley had re-signed his U.S. publishing to their Blizzard Music Limited company after the 35-year reversion period. This new agreement encompasses songs co-written by Daisley from the first two Ozzy solo albums, which remain under the full control of Blizzard Music Limited worldwide.
Daisley's most recent lawsuit against Ozzy over unpaid royalties was dismissed in May 2017. U.S. District Judge Christina Snyder concluded at the time that Daisley's claims that Osbourne used a sham company, Blizzard Music Limited, to withhold royalty income from him were matters that should be settled through arbitration.
Daisley told journalist Joel Gausten in a 2016 interview that while he had received performance and publishing royalties for the songs, he had not received his share of what are known as synchronization fees, or "sync fees," which writers earn from the use of a song in an ad, TV show, movie, video game or other such media.
Daisley's lawsuit stated that the firm that conducted an audit at his request in 2014 estimated that at least $2 million in royalty income had been withheld, although it could not determine a precise amount.
He also explained in 2016 that Ozzy's publishing company had "been taking a higher percentage off the top" than his contract states, claiming, "The Osbournes have been taking 25 percent rather than the 10 percent I agreed to."
Ozzy issued a statement on the lawsuit at the time it was filed, saying that Daisley had routinely been royalties totaling in the "millions of dollars" over the past 36 years, adding that "Mr. Daisley has audited Blizzard Music accounts over the years using several different auditing firms who found no discrepancies. He has previously filed lawsuits in the U.K. and the U.S. and has lost on each occasion.
"We understand that Mr. Daisley is now in retirement and that these funds are his main source of income, so it is his right to be diligent with his money, but after 36 years, this is tantamount to harassment," the Osbournes said. "We would have hoped that after 36 years that Mr. Daisley would have lost his unhealthy personal obsession and resentment towards Mr. Osbourne's success."
This was not the first time that Daisley took legal action against the singer. Daisley and Kerslake, who also played on both records, filed suit against Ozzy in the early 2000s for unpaid performance royalties. Their suit was dismissed in 2002. 29

Consisting of 10 songs and over an hour of music, the disc evolved to be an epic tour de force of Finnish melancholy.
With four composers in the band, the sound of INSOMNIUM is now richer and more versatile than ever before.
In the name of Nordic collaboration, the Swedish wizard Jens Bogren has been doing the mixing and mastering and made "Heart Like A Grave" the best-sounding INSOMNIUM album ever.
INSOMNIUM said: "The concept of the album is to delve deep into the heart of the Finnish melancholy. We've been inspired by some of the bleakest and saddest songs, poems and tales that truly capture the essence of northern gloom. Land where the frost ravages the harvest and creeps inside the souls, summer ends before it even starts, wife leaves, little brother dies in snow on a Christmas morning, and the golden days of youth are forever gone. So there are echoes of Harmaja, Rautavaara, Vainio, Peltoniemen Hintriikka and, of course, our own petty, miserable lives."
"Heart Like A Grave" track listing:
01. Wail Of The North
02. Valediction
03. Neverlast
04. Pale Morning Star
05. And Bells They Toll
06. The Offering
07. Mute Is My Sorrow
08. Twilight Trails
09. Heart Like A Grave
10. Karelia
In other news, INSOMNIUM has announced the addition of guitarist Jani Liimatainen to the group's ranks.
The band comments: "In 2018, it became apparent that Ville [Friman] could not combine the heavy touring anymore with his another career as a lecturer in York university. Hence, we decided that a third guitarist was needed to get the machinery running properly. We did not have to look far, since Jani Liimatainen had already been a live guitarist on several tours. And since this dude is amazing musician, vocalist, songwriter and all-round nice guy the decision was really a no-brainer. Now we are stronger than ever!"
Ville comments: "Since 2010, I've been combining touring and band life with my science career. However, couple of years ago it became clear that it has become impossible for me to put my 100% in both. This is partly because of more demanding role at the University of York but also because INSOMNIUM has been growing steadily year by year leading to increasing amount of touring with every album. With Jani on board, we have secured a steady live lineup to keep delivering fierce live shows all around the world with me joining the band when time allows."
Jani adds: "It is a great honour to join such an amazing band. I had already been touring with the guys on and off since 2015, filling in for Ville whenever needed, so when they asked me to officially join the band the answer was pretty much a no-brainer. I am looking forward to sharing many more metal moments with these guys who I am proud to call my friends."
In November, INSOMNIUM will embark on a comprehensive European tour with the support from the U.S. extreme metal kings THE BLACK DAHLIA MURDER and Finland’s fiercest quintet STAM1NA. 4

Ottawa’s ECLIPSER To Release Pathos In September; Track StreamingCanadian blackened death newcomers Eclipser will release their full-length debut this September via Noise Salvation Records.
A name derived from the all-obscuring sound they produce, Ottawa, Ontario's Eclipser spews forth a foreboding polarity of soaring melodies and nightmarish dissonance, and coiled together to create a harrowing malaise of blackened death metal promised to starve the light of everything it touches.
Recorded, mixed, and mastered at Topon Das' (Fuck The Facts) Apartment 2 Studio, and engineered by Scott Burniston, the band's impending debut, Pathos, is a culmination of their first year of writing as a unit. Instrumentally, Eclipser delivers an emotionally disturbing sonic landscape comprised of dense and transcendent atmospheres interrupted by frantic, anxiety-inducing riffs, blastbeats and a multi-dimensional barrage of ravenous screams, blood curdling shrieks, and harsh guttural lows. Conceptually, Pathos is a cryptic and abysmal collection of bleak philosophies, exploring esoteric theologies such as hermeticism and alchemy. Laden with contrast between religious and blasphemous connotations and the overall notion that the human condition is something to overcome, the record is as pulverizing as it is thought-provoking.
Pathos will be released via Noise Salvation Records, helmed in part by Topon Das, on September 6th on CD and digitally. Find preorders on Bandcamp.
Tracklisting:
“On Mournful Waves Of Eternal Dusk”
“Coagulation”

TEXAS HIPPIE COALITION Release "Dirty Finger" Music VideoTexas Hippie Coalition (THC) have released a video for "Dirty Finger". Once again directed by veteran director Justin Reich, this is the second music video the band has released from their latest LP, High In The Saddle.
“Let me see your dirty finger in the air! This set was the most fun I’ve ever had shooting a video, bar none, we just cut loose,” says frontman Big Dad Ritch. “Around 4:20 PM, we started partying, grilling, drinking, and burnin’ with a bunch of friends and extended family. BarBQ, Beer, and Bud! Living in live color! That’s OUTLAW Baby!"
"Dirty Finger" embodies Texas Hippie Coalition in every way. A real THC manifesto, if ever there was one: swampy grooves, Crüe-type partying, and a Man In Black style saga. It is a face-melting fireball of fun that works just as well in an arena or with a solitary sing-a-long while speeding down the highway.

Former SEPULTURA Drummer IGOR CAVALERA To Release PETBRICK Debut In OctoberAs the year 2020 fast approaches, and our surroundings frequently appear to be only a few steps short of resembling the kind of technologically driven dystopia that previously was confined to the realm of fiction, there still exists a peculiar shortage of music spiritually attuned to these treacherous times. Fortunately, a chance meeting between two disparate yet fundamentally akin visions is here to redress the balance.
PETBRICK — the duo comprising Wayne Adams (BIG LAD, DEATH PEDALS, JOHNNY BROKE) and Igor Cavalera (SEPULTURA, SOULWAX, MIXHELL, CAVALERA CONSPIRACY) — has arrived at an audial destination whereby electronic experimentation, hardcore attitude, dystopian dread and in-the-red dementia collide and collude to form a uniquely invigorating assault, custom fit for an accelerated age. This debut explores fresh lunacy anew whereby both members' past experience — Wayne in a variety of musical guises ranging from punk to breakcore and gabba, and Igor in a planet-straddling metal colossus whose questing spirit played a crucial role in the music's evolution — is both profitably employed and left obsolete by a resolutely genre-free onslaught whose spirit remains firmly in the here and now.
Listen to the first track "Horse" below.
PETBRICK will release "I" on October 25 via Closed Casket Activities in the U.S.
This meeting of minds initially took place after Igor — these days a London resident — was impressed by a BIG LAD show at Camden Underworld, subsequently resulting in the two staying in touch via e-mail, swapping files of material they were working on, bonding over Eurorack modular synth gear and eventually Igor visiting Wayne's Bearbiteshorse Studio where coffee-fuelled initial jams proved so fruitful that the project took on a life of its own.
"We wanted to do something different than the other projects we were involved in. Making horrible noise was the first concept behind PETBRICK," says IgorWayne.
Indeed, PETBRICK soon began to represent a boundary-free soundworld in which either member could explore whatever musical predilection or peccadillo they were possessed by and come out with something compelling, be it John Carpenter-style soundtrack cadences, Alessandro Cortini-esque synth textures. D-beat-driven punk intensity, or fulfilling a long-time ambition of Wayne's — the sound created by running all of their synths and drum machines through an ENTOMBED-style Boss HM-2 distortion pedal.
The project has also enjoyed its fair share of happy accidents.
"I think the industrial side of things probably comes a lot from Igor's playing," notes Wayne. "He hits hard, really fucking hard, and just goes like the clappers, so mix that with gabber and noise you have instant industrial vibes." Yet rather than being an album with its foot firmly on the accelerator throughout, it's one just as comfortable with the elegiac atmospherics of a track such as "Sect" as the hyperactive breakcore-damaged brew of "Roadkill Ruby".
Moreover, guest vocalists are also on hand to further up the ante. "Basically, all the collaborations on the album come from people whose work we love, and also are connected as friends," says Igor. "It's very important to us, to bring different vibes to the songs."
The result is free to traverse anywhere from full-throttle intensity (as with FULL OF HELL's Dylan Walker on the blistering "Radiation Facial" or INTEGRITY's legendary vocal exorcist Dwid Hellion on "Some Semblance Of A Story") to exhilarating melodic counterpoint (Laima Leyton of MIXHELL on "Coming") and stream-of-consciousness lunacy from WARMDUSCHER's Mutado Pintado, whose splenetic tirades on "Gringolicker" valiantly attempt to inhabit the increasingly unhinged persona of Donald Trump.
Paint-stripping and deliriously potent, "I" is more than merely an exercise in the life-affirming flame of oppositional punk spirit scorching all or any musical boundaries in its path — it's an uncompromising soundtrack to a short-circuiting new era. Yet rarely has the sound of global malfunction also been so much fun.
"I" track listing:
01. Horse
02. Radiation Facial (featuring Dylan Walker)
03. Guacamole Handshake
04. Roadkill Ruby
05. Sect
06. Gringolicker (featuring Mutado Pintado)
07. Coming (featuring (Laima Leyton)
08. Jesus Dropkick
09. Some Semblance Of A Story (featuring (Dwid Hellion)

EPICA To Re-Release 'Design Your Universe' With Bonus Disc Containing New Acoustic RecordingsDutch metal titans EPICA are celebrating the 10th anniversary of their milestone album "Design Your Universe". To mark this special occasion, EPICA will re-release this fan-favorite LP as a "gold edition" on October 4 through Nuclear Blast. This edition will contain the album remixed and remastered by Joost van den Broek with updated artwork and a second disc containing newly recorded acoustic versions of "Design Your Universe" songs.
Singer Simone Simons stated about the re-release: "'Design Your Universe' is an album that is very dear to me not only because of the music, but also because of the message behind it. I am looking forward to the anniversary release and all the upcoming shows. The bonus CD is a worthy addition to 'Design Your Universe' and I can’t wait for you all to hear the songs!"
"Design Your Universe" will be re-released as a two-CD version and a digital version. The acoustic songs will also be released as a separate picture disc. Pre-order will start on August 9.
To coincide with the 10th anniversary, EPICA will perform a number of special shows beginning on October 4 in Oberhausen, Germany.
Last month, EPICA guitarist Isaac Delahaye told Heavy TV about the upcoming trek: "It's just another tour to celebrate 10 years of that album… So that's something to look forward. I'm really looking forward to that. 'Cause it's also the first album I — when I joined the band, that was the album we worked on, so, for me, it's a special album as well."
Delahaye also said that he has "already started writing some stuff" for the follow-up to 2016's "The Holographic Principle" album.
The next EPICA studio LP is not expected to arrive before late 2020.
November 2019 will see the release of "The Essence Of Epica", a lavishly designed and fully illustrated, high-quality hardback which tells the story of EPICA in bandmembers' own words. The book is available in two distinct editions: the Classic is a 208-page, hardback with foil detailing, filled with over 200 images; the Signature hardback is signed by the band and comes in a deluxe clamshell box with three exclusive, original art prints created by Stefan Heilemann. 1

HATRIOT: 'Ethereal Nightmare' Lyric VideoThe official lyric video for the song "Ethereal Nightmare" from the San Francisco Bay Area thrash metal outfit HATRIOT can be seen below. The track is taken from the band's upcoming album, "From Days Unto Darkness", which will be released on July 26 via Massacre Records. The disc marks the group's first release with Cody Souza on the microphone, following the departure of his father, Steve "Zetro" Souza (now back in EXODUS).
Paolo Girard created a very symbolic album cover by featuring themes based upon the horrors around the end of the world, the hypocrisy that surrounds religion and corrupt world leaders, and the carnage bestowed on the final days of humanity.
You can look forward to an album with grim, nefarious lyrics dealing with subjects like the end of the world, conspiracy theories, horror icons, and a new world order, among others.
The album will be available as CD digipak, limited-edition vinyl LP as well digitally, and is going to be available for pre-order soon.
"From Days Unto Darkness" track listing:
01. One Less Hell
02. Daze Into Darkness
03. Carnival Of Execution
04. Organic Remains
05. World, Flesh & Devil
06. Frankenstein Must Be Destroyed
07. In The Mind Of The Mad
08. Delete
09. Ethereal Nightmare
Zetro sang on HATRIOT's first two albums, 2013's "Heroes Of Origin" and 2014's "Dawn Of The New Centurion".
Back in 2016, HATRIOT stated about how Zetro's departure has affected the band's sound: "Now that Steve 'Zetro' Souza is full time with EXODUS, we wanted to tap more of our death metal influence such as THE BLACK DAHLIA MURDER, REVOCATION, SKELETONWITCH and DEATH while still keeping true to HATRIOT's Bay Area roots such as EXODUS, TESTAMENT, DEATH ANGEL and MACHINE HEAD."
In a 2015 interview with DC Heavy Metal, Zetro stated about HATRIOT: "[Cody] does a really, really good job at [the vocals for the band]. I'm watching over them. I'm making sure they get going."
HATRIOT 2019 is:
Cody Souza - Vocals/Bass
Kevin Paterson - Guitar
Kosta Varvatakis - Guitar
Nick Souza - Drums 1

Former ACCEPT Singer DAVID REECE Signs With EL PUERTO RECORDS For Next Solo AlbumFormer ACCEPT frontman David Reece has inked a deal with El Puerto Records for the release of his next solo album. The singer had previously worked with El Puerto on the two albums from his SAINTED SINNERS project.
El Puerto label boss Torsten Ihlenfeld commented: "[It is] great to work with David again. Reece released an amazing album lately, followed by a great tour and extensive live activities, but looking at what is on the recording machines right now, this was just the beginning of something big to come. We are stoked to the max and can't wait to bring this masterpiece to life!"
Reece's latest solo album, "Resilient Heart", was released last November through Mighty Music. The follow-up to 2013's "Compromise" featured Reece alongside Danish musicians Marco Angioni (guitar), Martin J. Andersen (guitar), Malte Frederik Burkert (bass) and Sigurd J. Jensen (drums).
Reece was recruited by ACCEPT for the "Eat The Heat" album in 1989 following the departure of Udo Dirkschneider. Reece's higher-pitched delivery was in sharp contrast to Udo's distinctive style, and overall, the album was a critical and commercial disappointment. Midway through the "Eat The Heat" tour, differences between the band and Reece had come to a head, leading to the altercation between the singer and bassist Peter Baltes in Chicago. By the end of 1989, ACCEPT had hung it up.
Reece has also played with BONFIRE and BANGALORE CHOIR. 1

Scandinavia's MASS WORSHIP Sign With Century Media RecordsHailing out of Scandinavia, Mass Worship is a darkened metal band tastefully adding onto the rich legacy of Scandinavian metal with their uniquely heavy and gritty sound. The Stockholm based band was officially formed in January 2018, but the members carry a rich history comprising of relentless touring and recording schedules and the future that lies ahead of Mass Worship will be no different.
On the back of the release of the "Spiritual Destitution” single (Isolation Records) the band set out on the road sharing stages across genres with diverse bands such as Vader, Comeback Kid, Malevolence and now-label mates Implore - followed by a year of meticulously working on their debut album, that is set for a release through Century Media Records later this year.
The band comments: “We’re very excited to announce that we have signed a worldwide deal with Century Media Records. It’s a huge honor being a part of one of the world’s most notable metal-labels and joining forces with titans such as At The Gates, Napalm Death, Arch Enemy, Entombed A.D., The Haunted and many more influential artists. We have worked tediously on our debut record and we can’t wait to share it with you all very soon.”
The following gentlemen are already avid supporters of Mass Worship:
Tomas Lindberg (At The Gates): “Mass Worship brings back the gnarliness and attitude of the days of Breach and other more metal tinged hardcore bands from that era, I am struck by the energy and the ferocity in the delivery. Great stuff indeed. Prepare to get crushed!”
Marco Aro (The Haunted): "I'm so stoked about my friends in Mass Worship finally getting their stuff out there... this gritty HM-2 onslaught is going to have you gasping for air right from the get go! I've been a fan of this band since the beginning... so big up to my boys... enjoy the ride ahead!"
Jonas Renkse (Katatonia, Bloodbath): ”Good to see our buddies in Mass Worship finally release a full-length. I’m sure their patented gritty machinery of death-y sludge will destroy some ears out there!”
Stay tuned for more news from Mass Worship who shall bring you heavy riffs out of the Scandinavian darkness.

AC/DC Breaks Social Media Silence With Video Celebrating 40 Years Of Highway To HellAfter over two years of social media silence, AC/DC's Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter pages have all been updated to include the video below, which includes the simple tagline: "Celebrate with us all month long! ⚡️#H2H40"
Highway To Hell, AC/DC's sixth studio album, was released on July 27, 1979. It was the last album featuring lead singer Bon Scott, who died early the following year.
Last week, Topeka, Kansas radio station, V100 reported that, according to their sources, AC/DC are set to announce a 2019-2020 World Tour this week.
Said V100: "Obviously, we’re talking about the music biz here, things could change. But, right now that’s what we’ve been told.
"Another fun bit of info we’ve got for you is to answer all of your questions about Brian Johnson. Yes, he’s back with the band. It’s been rumoured for months now that he’s been working with the band and we’ve been told those rumours are true. Brian has been working special in-ears made for his performances so that he can continue to perform without causing any more damage to his hearing than he already has.
"Our source is someone close with the AC/DC camp and we believe them to be a reliable source. As always, things could change, but for now I would start saving your pennies and get ready to buy some AC/DC tickets in the very near future."
Stay tuned for updates.

SKUNK ANANSIE Releases Music Video For 'What You Do For Love'British rockers SKUNK ANANSIE have released the official music video for their new single, "What You Do For Love". The clip for the band's first new song in three years includes footage from the recent European leg of SKUNK ANANSIE's " [email protected]" tour, along with the video of the group recording the track in a London studio.
Speaking about the song, vocalist Skin said: "The hardest songs to write are political ones which is why we always try to avoid them. They're supposed to just instantaneously spill out of you due to pure vexation, or they sound insincere and you fall into tired old clichés. This is one of those moments of rage. Love always seems to be the reason why people do hateful things, which I've never been able to understand."
SKUNK ANANSIE's live album, " [email protected]", was released in January via Republic Of Music.
Formed in 1994, the band exuded a strong sense of individuality from the start, shunning the Britpop mould of white 20-something men with guitars for a glorious mix of race, gender, sexuality, culture and music influences. Untethered by any scene allegiances, they powered ahead, forming their own wild sound and image: agile, gritty, politically-charged "clit rock"; a throw-away term coined by Skin.
Their notorious live presence earned them a record deal on just their second gig, and later on saw them become the first international multi-racial band to tour South Africa, where they played three sold-out arena shows. Their first Glastonbury slot came just over a year since formation, and only four years later the band were invited back to headline the festival.
Establishing themselves as one of the most unique rock bands of the past three decades, their career has seen them score numerous Top 40 singles and Top 10 albums, sell millions of albums around the world, share stages with David Bowie and U2, and sing "Happy Birthday" to Nelson Mandela with Stevie Wonder, Nina Simone and Michael Jackson.

LIV SIN: 'Burning Sermons' Album Details RevealedFollowing on from the acclaimed "Follow Me" album, Swedish quintet LIV SIN, led by the unmistakable vocals of Liv Jagrell (ex-SISTER SIN), will release its new LP, "Burning Sermons", on September 6 via Despotz Records. The disc was produced by Emil Nödtveidt (DEATHSTARS) at Black Syndicate Studio.
Channeling LIV SIN's love of classic heavy metal with a bruising modern edge, "Burning Sermons" is a riff-heavy collection, showcasing the band's innate ability to match melody with aggressive metal with ease. Liv is in particularly fine form throughout, with a voice equally capable of capturing your heart as it is knocking buildings to the ground.
Liv comments on the band's decision to work with Emil: "We wanted to explore a more modern sound with some synthesizers on this album. I think that this album might surprise a lot of our fans. I have known Emil for many years, so it was really fun to reconnect. The first moment he sent us his ideas of our demos, I was delirious."
Guitarist Chris Bertzell explains how the songwriting process differed from that on LIV SIN's debut: "For the first album, LIV SIN was only Patrick, Liv and Per. Now we have spent two years together as a complete band of five on the road and in the studio. Along with more songwriters, the band has evolved into having a lot more attitude and catchy melodies."
Just like with LIV SIN's previous album, the band invited a guest artist on "Burning Sermons" to sing with Liv in a memorable duet. On the upcoming single "Hope Begins To Fade", Liv paired up with Björn "Speed" Strid, the well-known singer of SOILWORK and THE NIGHT FLIGHT ORCHESTRA.
LIV SIN commented on the collaboration with Björn: "For a heavy bombastic song like 'Hope Begins To Fade' that features orchestral elements, we wanted to find a cool contrasting voice to Liv, and Björn's name came up when we were discussing guests for the album with our label. His deep growls and marvelous clear voice were the ultimate combination to lift this song to the next level and it fit seamlessly with Liv's tone. His impressive skills from actually both SOILWORK and THE NIGHT FLIGHT ORCHESTRA shines through here, which added that extra punch to the song. It was the perfect match!"
"Burning Sermons" track listing:
01. Blood Moon Fever
02. Chapter Of The Witch
03. Hope Begins To Fade
04. War Antidote
05. At The Gates Of The Abyss

AS I LAY DYING To Release 'Shaped By Fire' Album In SeptemberAccording to a since-removed listing on the Nuclear Blast web site, AS I LAY DYING will release its new album, "Shaped By Fire", on September 20 via the German heavy metal record label.
The track listing for the effort is as follows:
01. Burn To Emerge
02. Blinded
03. Shaped By Fire
04. Undertow
05. Torn Between
06. Gatekeeper
07. The Wreckage
08. My Own Grave
09. Take What's Left
10. Redefined
11. Only After We've Fallen
12. The Toll It Takes
AS I LAY DYING's upcoming disc will be the band's first since singer Tim Lambesis was sentenced to six years in jail after pleading guilty to paying a San Diego police officer posing as a hitman $1,000 to kill his wife. Approximately two and a half years later — in December 2016 — he was discharged from a California detention facility and was transferred to the Division of Adult Parole Operations.
In June 2018, AS I LAY DYING played its first show with Lambesis in five years and released a new single, "My Own Grave". Lambesis also owned up to his crimes in a long apology on the band's Facebook page after his release.
November saw AS I LAY DYING complete its first U.S. tour in five years and the band followed it up with a European run of shows. Another single, "Redefined", arrived in April.
The return of AS I LAY DYING raised some questions, particularly since guitarist Nick Hipa categorically denounced the band's disgraced frontman as a "sociopathic narcissist in definite need of rehabilitation" in a social-media post back in 2014.
Earlier this week, AS I LAY DYING announced that it will embark on the "Shaped By Fire" U.S. headlining tour in the fall. Support on the trek will come from AFTER THE BURIAL and EMMURE. 3

DISTURBED's DAVID DRAIMAN Says ROGER WATERS Is 'Full Of S**t': 'He's Rewriting His Own History'DISTURBED singer David Draiman, who is of Jewish heritage, says that Israel is facing "particular judgment and preferential boycotting" that no other country in the world has been forced to endure.
Draiman made his comments while speaking to i24News ahead of his band's performance in Tel Aviv two weeks ago. He said (see video below): "Israel gets particular judgment and preferential boycotting that literally no other society is subject to. The Chinese treatment of their homegrown Muslim population and the internment camps that they're in — millions being subjugated and thrown into re-education programs. How they brutalized their LGBTQ communities. Places like Venezuela and Syria and the Sudan and all over the African continent, which are committing grave crimes against humanity. Even our partners with the United States in Saudi Arabia and many other states, the atrocities they continue to commit, none of them get the level of judgment and scrutiny that the Israeli government does.
"I will be perfectly frank and honest with you — there are many things that I disagree with the current Israeli administration, as many Israelis do, but that's democracy," he continued. "I disagree with a lot of the actions of the current administration in the United States too; that doesn't mean I'm not going to play there.
"[Israel is subjected to a] really unfair amount of unjustified treatment and persection. There is no sense to it. There isn't logic behind it. There isn't another people on the planet that are treated the same way."
A number of artists, including Roger Waters, have been vocal in their support of the Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions (BDS) campaign, which calls for economic pressure on Israel to end the occupation of Palestinian land, grant Arab citizens equal rights and recognize the right of return to Palestinian refugees. It recently called on artists, music fans and broadcasters to boycott the Eurovision Song Contest in Tel Aviv, arguing it amounted to "whitewashing" Israel's policies towards Palestinians in the occupied West Bank and the Gaza Strip.
"I don't understand the point," Draiman said about the Israel boycott by certain artists. "What are they really hoping to achieve by holding back their art from the general population? What good is that going to do? Even if you subscribe to the notion that it will achieve something to boycott goods and the services from these specific quote-unquote occupied territories — and that's a whole another topic of vast discussion and debate — what is the justification in holding back your creativity and your art? Music and art was created, and is created, to bring people together — not to separate them. It's meant to build bridges, not to burn them down."
Draiman also once again directed much of his venom squarely at Waters, one of the most vocal advocates of a cultural boycott of Israel, whose view of the Middle East changed after a 2006 trip to Israel, where Waters played a gig at the end of the European leg of his "Dark Side Of The Moon Live" tour.
"His unbridled hatred is so severe and has affected his psyche so much, he's rewriting his own history," David said. "The man played Israel, and the way that he'll tell you the story of that performance is very, very different to what actually happened, to the footage that exists on tape that you can actually look back at and refer to and know that he's full of shit. It doesn't cease to amaze me, the lengths that him and those like him will go to distort truth on behalf of their ridiculous hateful narrative. You can't have a rational debate with people like that. It's like trying to play chess with a pigeon who just ends up shitting all over the chess board and insisting that he won."
Asked what message he had for the BDS supporters who hold an unfavorable view of the Jewish state, Draiman said: "If you divorce yourself from the narrative for just a moment and try to look at people as people, and stop trying to blame all the ills of the world on any sect of people, and learn a greater appreciation for the human beings behind the idealogy, you may end up surprising yourself.
"It's been my absolute pleasure, over the course of my career, on a number of occasions, to be able to dispel the mythology behind what Jews are supposed to represent to those people," he added. "And I've been able to, early on in my career, turn hardcore Nazi skinheads away from their way of life —on more an occasion. Because, 'Wait a minute. You can't possibly be Jewish.' 'Yeah, I am.' 'How? You are this guy on stage. And I love your music and your message and your songs. And you're a good person, and you don't have horns growing out of your head. I don't understand. Everything they told me wasn't true.'"
DISTURBED performed in Israel for the first time on July 2.
Although the 46-year-old singer had visited the country many times before, this was the first DISTURBED concert in the Jewish state.
Both of Draiman's maternal grandparents were survivors of the Bergen-Belsen concentration camp, while many others on his mother's side were wiped out by the Nazis.
The DISTURBED song "Never Again", from 2010's "Asylum" album, was written about the Holocaust and calls out people who deny it.
The United States Holocaust Museum has featured Draiman in its "Voices On Anti-Semitism" podcasts.
Draiman has in the past battled with Twitter trolls who have harassed him about his sometimes-controversial views regarding Israel and its ongoing conflict with the Palestinians. Draiman has had frequent heated exchanges with followers on Twitter, some of whom believe that Israel is not blameless in the ongoing conflict with Palestinians. 17
