"Risen From The Ashes" was produced by Ulrich Wild (Buckcherry, Static-X, Deftones), and continues Raven Black's story, as told in the first installment of their ongoing comic book series, A Dark Metal Carnival - The Beginning, and the upcoming issue, A Dark Metal Carnival - We Came Across the Darkness.

The comic book series lays out Raven's past, where a voodoo doctor finds a lost, scared young girl and uses his dark magic to turn her into a doll. The Doctor's spell did not work, instead leaving Raven as a half human-half doll. Through her life with the Doctor, Raven secretly studied his magic, and eventually used it to conjure up a demon named Muppet. Muppet became Raven's eternal protector, trapped inside of her heart. Along with the Doctor, Muppet then created a character named Stitches to seek out other looking to join their dark metal carnival world.

Says Raven, "You learn Raven was burned at the stake for practicing magic. In the upcoming issue, the foursome embarks on an adventure through hell and find their way to an enchanted underworld outside the gates of Hell. Raven has risen from the ashes and she discovers her true self, while meeting many different characters alongside Muppet, the Doctor and Stitches."

In addition to Raven on vocals, the lineup of Raven Black is made up of the three other main characters from the books - Muppet (Drums/Vocals), The Doctor (Lead Guitar/Vocals) and Stitches (Bass).

PINKISH BLACK Streaming Entire Concept Unification Album

PINKISH BLACK Streaming Entire Concept Unification Album

Texas experimental duo, Pinkish Black, have released their new album, Concept Unification, via Relapse Records. A full album stream is available below.

Concept Unification is the band's most adventurous record to date. Each of the six tracks on the album explore the innermost depths of forward-thinking doom rock, as psychedelic undertones collide with dark, crushing heaviness. Brooding synthesizers on Concept Unification's opening title track give way to the impending melancholy found on "Dial Tone", while progressive ebbs and flows on "Petit Mal" showcase Pinkish Black's ability to manipulate dark ambience. The album closer "Next Solution" presents a somber, contemplative piano performance front-and-center, before exploding into a dramatic whirl of choirs and rhythmic pummeling. "Concept Unification" is a beast of its own, pontificating on themes of anxiety, futility, and emptiness, positioning Pinkish Black as vital to the independent scene as ever.

Physical packages are available to order at Relapse.com.

Tracklisting:

“Concept Unification”
“Until”
“Dial Tone”
“Petit Mal”
“Inanimatronic”
“Next Solution”
“Away Again” (Bonus Track)
“We Wait” (Bonus Track)

ANTHRAX Performs 'Now It's Dark' For First Time In 27 Years (Video)

ANTHRAX Performs 'Now It's Dark' For First Time In 27 Years (Video)

ANTHRAX performed the song "Now It's Dark" for the first time in more than 27 years on June 8 at Batschkapp in Frankfurt, Germany. The band played it again the following night at the Rock Hard Festival in Gelsenkirchen, Germany.

Speaking to Rock Hard magazine, ANTHRAX guitarist Scott Ian said that "it felt great" to perform "Now It's Dark" again after all this time. "I'll be honest — I was nervous," he admitted. "We didn't rehearse it. We played it one time at soundcheck, and it felt really good at soundcheck. Everybody learned it at home before we came out. I think everyone was just very excited to bring that song back. And then during the show, it was my favorite song of the night. So, yeah, I was very, very happy with it. It was cool. It felt like a new song. Like, 'Wow! We have this new song to play now.' So who knows? Maybe that opens the door for other old songs that we didn't think we would maybe bring back. Although we've been talking about some other songs off of 'Persistence [Of Time]' — certainly maybe next year, because it'll be the 30th anniversary of that album. I don't think we'll play the whole album or anything like that, but there's other songs we haven't played in a long time that would be cool to bring back. But yeah, 'Now It's Dark' was great."

"Now It's Dark" originally appeared on ANTHRAX's fourth studio album, "State Of Euphoria", which was reissued last October as a 30th-anniversary, 2CD deluxe edition. The LP, which was produced by ANTHRAX and Mark Dodson, includes fan favorites "Antisocial" and "Be All, End All", and was certified gold a few months after release.

Ian also talked to Rock Hard about the progress of the songwriting sessions for ANTHRAX's follow-up to 2016's "For All Kings" album. He said: "It's still very skeletal. But we have some really strong skeletons. Like, not shitty skeletons — really strong skeletons with flaming swords, like from an old Sinbad movie or something. Yeah, we've got some really cool stuff. I think there's five now really great ideas — just music; musical arrangements. I haven't even really given it any thought yet. Probably after this summer's done, like when we finish in August, we'll have some time in late August and in September where we're gonna be off tour, and I think that's probably when I'll start thinking about what I wanna say. But I'm really, really happy with the music. It sounds great. The riffs are fucking awesome. And yeah, I'm really excited about it."

"For All Kings" was called by some critics ANTHRAX's strongest album to date. Its arrival followed a five-year period during which the band experienced a rebirth of sorts, beginning with ANTHRAX's inclusion on the 2010 "Big Four" tour with METALLICA, SLAYER and MEGADETH, and continuing with the 2011 release of comeback LP "Worship Music".

The group's upcoming disc will be ANTHRAX's third full-length release since the return of singer Joey Belladonna, who came back into the fold for the "Big Four" shows, in the process helping inspire a new wave of creativity.

TIMO TOLKKI'S AVALON: 'Godsend' Video Feat. MARIANGELA DEMURTAS

TIMO TOLKKI'S AVALON: 'Godsend' Video Feat. MARIANGELA DEMURTAS

Frontiers Music Srl recently announced the return of TIMO TOLKKI'S AVALON with the release of the long-awaited third chapter in his metal opera, "Return To Eden", on June 14. Today, the official music video for the third single, "Godsend", featuring Mariangela Demurtas (ARDOURS, TRISTANIA) on lead vocals, has been made available. Check it out below.

Five years in the making, "Return To Eden" marks a new return for the legendary ex-STRATOVARIUS guitarist and composer Timo Tolkki. Following a few personal issues which forced him to take a step back from the spotlight, Timo started the writing process for the new album and, with the help of the Italian producer Aldo Lonobile (SECRET SPHERE), completed this outstanding comeback album. A convincing and inspired release, Timo's hunger to create is stronger than ever. As with previous releases, a slew of heavyweight guest vocalists were brought in to handle lead vocal duties. "Return To Eden" features appearances by renowned Dutch singer Anneke Van Giersbergen (ex-THE GATHERING), Zak Stevens (ex-SAVATAGE), Todd Michael Hall (RIOT V), Demurtas and Eduard Hovinga (ex-ELEGY).

"I would like to say… Tolkki is back!" exclaims Timo. "I feel that this is one of my best works to date and I believe the whole cast of singers and musicians truly went above and beyond the call of duty. We managed to create a really great record. I hope the fans will like it."

Tolkki has traveled a hard road to get to today, but he is back and more determined than ever to take back his rightful place in the metal scene that he so much deserves after all these years.

Formed in the autumn of 2012, TIMO TOLKKI'S AVALON released its debut album, "The Land Of New Hope", in May 2013. A follow-up effort, "Angels Of The Apocalypse", was issued in May 2014.

Although AVALON has been described by the media as a metal opera, it really is a vehicle for former STRATOVARIUS guitarist Timo Tolkki to express his music in various formats using high-quality musicians. It doesn't have a permanent lineup except for Tolkki.

The project's name comes from the film "The Mists Of Avalon", which tells the story of King Arthur. The film describes Avalon as a place likened to "heaven" that normal mortals cannot see and it is divided by mist. It is one of Tolkki's favorite films.

LORDI Premier Official Live Video For "The Riff" From Upcoming Recordead Live - Sextourcism In Z7 Release

LORDI Premier Official Live Video For "The Riff" From Upcoming Recordead Live - Sextourcism In Z7 Release

Lordi will release Recordead Live - Sextourcism In Z7 on DVD, vinyl and digipak on July 26 via AFM Records. Pre-order here, and watch a video for "The Riff" below.

Besides the live cut of the show in Pratteln, Switzerland during their Sextourcism tour, the DVD provides a lot of bonus material, including some real rarities.

The live show itself has a playing time of two hours. "We just cut a little bit of my stupid announcements on stage“, said Mr. Lordi about the impressive duration. "Apart from that, everything that happened this evening ended up on this DVD."

The choice of the Z7 is a matter of duration as well: There is no club that hosted Lordi as often as this one located next to the German border and for that reason, the club became something like a second home to the Finns over the years.

Though there are some live records of Lordi, Recordead Live - Sextourcism In Z7 is the first official live DVD of the band, checked by the musicians, and was a plan that Lordi had been pursuing for years and finally put into practice during the Sextourcism tour. Mr. Lordi states: "I am very happy that we waited until the Sextourcism tour, because we look amazing, the stage looks amazing and everything was perfect to create a stunning DVD."

The bonus material is stunning as well: Alongside a tour diary with Lordi, the DVD provides all of the official video clips the band ever made. Among them a real rarity, the very first official music video for "Inferno", which was made 1994 and was Mr. Lordi's final dissertation at the film academy.

Besides production, location and the camera settings, Mr. Lordi was also responsible for writing, directing and editing the video and for costumes and the masks. "That was the historical moment that the masks and costumes became an essential part of the band“, he remembers. "Since it was my final dissertation, everyone was dressed up except me. When I saw the clip for the first time, I was like Fuck, everybody looks way cooler than I do - it was supposed to be the other way around. That was the moment, I decided, to create the most elaborate costume for myself.“

In the video to "Inferno", Mr. Lordi does not wear a mask. But since a real monster never loses face, the clip was censored afterwards. A retrospective edited mask had Mr. Lordi staying Mr. Lordi.

Since their stunning victory at Euro Vision song contest in 2006, the Finnish monster rocker Lordi are omni present. With charm, exciting melodies and elaborate and crazy monster costumes the unconventional formation rocked over all Europe. With their new studio album Sexorcism, released in spring 2018 and one of the most successful in the band's history, Lordi returned with new costumes and a wonderful live show that now is caught in moving pictures, released in July.

Israel's WALKWAYS Release Official Video For "Hell Born Shove (Impossible)"; New Album Out Today

Israel's WALKWAYS Release Official Video For "Hell Born Shove (Impossible)"; New Album Out Today

Israeli alternative metallers Walkways have released their new album, Bleed Out, Heal Out, via Nuclear Blast. In celebration of the release the band has also unleashed the intense new music video for the song "Hell Born Shove (Impossible)".

Tracklisting:

"Till The End"
"Hell Born Shove (Impossible)"
"Despair (For Heaven's Sake)"
"Half The Man I Am"
"Trumpet Call"
"Levitate"
"Bleed Out, Heal Out!"
"You Found Me"
"Unbearable Days"
"Enough"
"Humane Beings"
"Care (In This Together)"
"Thank You"
"Bone Deep"

The album journeys through six chapters.

It begins with a heart break and a deep disappointment, goes into a struggle with the urge to avenge and let a darker side take over, from there comes the chapter of release and unchaining from the burden of trauma. Then comes the step of letting someone new in to your life, the stage of loving again. Following that is a contemplation of the outside world - being horrified by our ways as human beings (wars, environmental pollution and animal abuse) and a strong desire to correct and evolve as one and a shout out to change as a whole.

To end the album, there is a recurring chapter of convergence due to the shock from the outside world, which is again flooded with great disappointment and a kind of despair from the current situation, but the deep desire to correct and transcend the internal and external chaos is always preserved.

HATE's Auric Gates Of Veles Album Out Now; Full Album Stream Available

HATE's Auric Gates Of Veles Album Out Now; Full Album Stream Available

Hate have released their 11th full-length, Auric Gates Of Veles, via Metal Blade Records. A full album stream can be found below. The new album can be ordered here.

Since 1991, Hate have lived up to their name, responsible for some of the angriest and most ruthless death metal unleashed upon the world. With 2017's Tremendum, they took a step toward a darker, more atmospheric, black metal-oriented style and began exploring Slavonic mysticism, and new album Auric Gates Of Veles boldly continues in that direction.

"We wanted to go deeper into the subject, both musically and lyrically," asserts vocalist/guitarist ATF Sinner. "We also wanted to record a sharper and better defined rhythm section, a more death metal-oriented one. When it comes to guitar sound, it was meant to be a wall of sonic destruction with dark ambient elements in the background."

To say that they achieved that which they set out to create is an understatement, for Auric Gates Of Veles is a titanic record that is both more organic and dynamic sounding, and may well be the finest of their storied career.

With the ominous rumble that heralds the commencement of opener "Seventh Manvantara" giving way to a squall of guitars and blastbeats, it is clear that Hate are playing at the top of their game. Progressing through the rampant thrashing and wide open spaces of "The Volga's Veins", the haunting, crushing grooves of the title track, the equally sinister and tragic sounds of "Salve Ignis" and concluding with the raw black metal of closer "Generation Sulphur", it is a diverse record, not content to rehash the same idea eight times. The centerpiece of the album is arguably the six and a half minute epic thunder of "Sovereign Sanctity", which demands the full attention of the listener from start to finish.

"We wanted the songs to sound like anthems, and 'Sovereign Sanctity' is a perfect example of such a song. I think it's also one of the best we have written in years," Sinner states.

Auric Gates Of Veles tracklisting:

"Seventh Manvantara"
"Triskhelion"

MICHAEL SCHENKER FEST Release "Rock Steady" Single; Music Video Streaming

MICHAEL SCHENKER FEST Release "Rock Steady" Single; Music Video Streaming

Following on from the release of their successful debut album, Resurrection, Michael Schenker Fest have completed the recordings for their second studio album, which is now scheduled for a worldwide release on September 20 worldwide via Nuclear Blast.

Today, Michael Schenker Fest release the first single, "Rock Steady". Watch the video below, and get the song digitally here.

“This song almost did not make it on the album", says Michael Schenker and explains: "It developed from a ‘maybe’ into a definite, after we swapped things around like an added solo, psychedelic pieces, the lyrics, the slide plus all the other goodies and sprinkles. It turned out to be a party song telling my story, capturing many aspects of music. It was originally a song for guest musicians to be featured on the album, the ones I had in mind were Ronnie Wood and Mick Jagger; it had that kind of feel. Ronnie actually introduced his family to me in my dressing room in Hammersmith back in the 80s and I’ve heard he’s a fan! So, I had asked my son Taro to knock on Ronnie’s door, since they both live in Barcelona, and tell Ronnie to bring Mick with him. The Beatles and the Stones were two of the first bands I got into. I had the pleasure to jam with Paul McCartney on an MSG album. Ronnie and Mick would have closed the cycle, but when Ted passed away we had to focus on other things instead. We ended up scrapping the whole guest idea!”

Revelation will be released on different formats and is ready for pre-order now. It will be available as CD digipak, 2LP (different colours) as well as a limited boxset incl. CD digipak, 2LP (red+black splatter), puzzle, poster 60x30, photo cards. Get your version here.

THE NIGHT FLIGHT ORCHESTRA Featuring SOILWORK, ARCH ENEMY Members Release New Single "Satellite"; Music Video Streaming

THE NIGHT FLIGHT ORCHESTRA Featuring SOILWORK, ARCH ENEMY Members Release New Single "Satellite"; Music Video Streaming

Swedish classic/progressive rock supergroup, The Night Flight Orchestra, have released their brand new single, "Satellite". Watch the official music video below.

Says the band: "Sometimes, no matter how many years or how many miles you have between yourself and the one you truly desire, love leaves a mark that can’t be erased. Your need is etched in your soul, in the actual muscle fibers that keeps your heart beating. And so, you become a satellite, forever stuck in orbit around the object of your affection, watching from afar, but never being able to fulfill your dreams.

"Anticipating yet another sinful Swedish summer, where none of your secrets can be hidden beneath the unyielding glare of the midnight sun, we wanted to give you something special; a soundtrack both to your daydreams and your shortcomings. This summer might change your life, and if it doesn’t, we might change it for you."

"Satellite" is the new single from The Night Flight Orchestra, a shot through the heart and we’re to blame. Recorded mostly in NSL studios, Skara, Sweden by the NFO and Thomas Plec Johansson, Mixed by Sebastian Bremen Forslund and mastered by Thomas Plec Johansson. Video directed by René U Valdes. The song includes guest features by a variety of musicians, such as Rachel Hall from british progressive rock icons Big Big Train.

The Night Flight Orchestra members:

Björn Strid - vocals
Sharlee D' Angelo - bass
David Andersson - guitar
Richard Larsson - beyboards
Jonas Källsbäck - drums
Sebastian Forslund - guitar, percussion, special FX
Anna-Mia Bonde - backing vocals
Anna Brygård - backing vocals

"Satellite" also features the following guest musicians:

Rachel Hall - violin
Daniel Fäldt - kaval
Rasmus Ehrnborn - percussion
Johan Coma Courten Svensson - percussion

The band had announced to have begun recording the successor of 2018's Sometimes The World Ain't Enough. The band is currently working on the as of yet untitled album at Nordic Sound Labs using the same drum kit that was used during the recordings of ABBA's 1980 mega album Super Trouper.

“We are beyond thrilled to be able to use such a musical piece of history for the recording of our new album. Jonas is highly influenced by Per Lindvall, the drummer in ABBA, who used this very kit, during the recording of ABBA’s masterpiece Super Trouper in 1979. The sound coming from this kit is still fantastic and it’s gonna give that extra flair to our sound. We’ve had two recording sessions so far in Nordic Sound Lab in Skara, Sweden and will have a 3rd final session in September. Then the new album is good to go. We are super excited about and can’t wait to share it.” - Björn Strid

BLOODY HAMMERS Premier Horror Video For "Let Sleeping Corpses Lie"

BLOODY HAMMERS Premier Horror Video For "Let Sleeping Corpses Lie"

Transylvania County based duo, Bloody Hammers, will release their fifth studio album, The Summoning, on June 26 via Napalm Records. Today, the band release the third single and video, “Let Sleeping Corpses Lie”.

The Transylvania County based duo centered around mastermind Anders Manga draws the listener and viewer once again in a sinister and dark surrounding, that no band can evoke better in 2019 than Bloody Hammers and their very own “Bloody Hammers Film Production”. Manga proves once more that he is the master of darkness.

Anders Manga on the video and the song: "’Let Sleeping Corpses Lie’ was the first song I wrote for what has become The Summoning album. I really liked the song so it inspired all the rest of the material. We had fun with the video and clearly reflects our love of classic British horror.”

The US duo has prepared a wonderfully creepy horror musical experience that pays homage to classic flicks such as Let Sleeping Corpses Lie (1974) and Now The Screaming Starts (1973). Bloody Hammers’ idea of a soundtrack for your favorite video nasties holds some surprises on their upcoming record.

The Summoning will be available in the following formats:

- 4 page Digipack
- 1 LP Gatefold
- Digital album
- 2LP Gatefold (purple) - Napalm Records mailorder exclusive, strictly limited to 200 units

HOLLYWOOD VAMPIRES Offer Audio Preview Of Upcoming Rise Album

HOLLYWOOD VAMPIRES Offer Audio Preview Of Upcoming Rise Album

Hollywood Vampires (featuring rock 'n' roll royalty Joe Perry, Hollywood superstar Johnny Depp, and shock rock icon Alice Cooper) have released an audio preview for their upcoming Rise album, out June 21. Listen to snippets of the album tracks below.

Rise, the band’s second album, is some of the purest, unapologetic and most enjoyable rock and roll of the year, made by masters of the craft and true fans of the form.

Unlike their 2015 debut record, the new album Rise consists mainly of original material, written by the band. There are however, in the spirit of the Vampires’ original mission, three covers of songs originally written and recorded by some fellow rockers who died far too young: an intimate and intense version of David Bowie’s “Heroes”, again beautifully performed on record by Johnny Depp; the late Jim Carroll Band’s “People Who Died,” and Johnny Thunder’s “You Can’t Put Your Arms Around A Memory,” sung by Joe Perry.

Produced by Tommy Henriksen and the Hollywood Vampires, Rise will be released on June 21 via earMUSIC. Pre-order here.

Tracklisting:

“I Want My Now”
“Good People Are Hard To Find”
“Who’s Laughing Now”
“How The Glass Fell”
“The Boogieman Surprise”
“Welcome To Bushwackers” (feat. Jeff Beck and John Waters)
“The Wrong Bandage”
“You Can’t Put Your Arms Around A Memory”
“Git From Round Me”
“Heroes”
“A Pitiful Beauty”
“New Threat”
“Mr. Spider”
“We Gotta Rise”

EDENBRIDGE Set October Release Date For Dynamind Album; Artwork, Tracklisting Revealed

EDENBRIDGE Set October Release Date For Dynamind Album; Artwork, Tracklisting Revealed

Austrian symphonic metal band, Edenbridge, will release their 10th studio album, Dynamind, on October 25 via Steamhammer/SPV.

Any band wanting to leave their mark in our fast-lived world needs first and foremost two things: compositional substance and consistency. After all there are plenty of one-hit wonders in this industry, those overnight sensations with their artificial fast food-like products that frequently don’t even have the shelf-life of fresh fruit and veg. Edenbridge, on the other hand, have already proved their great musical potential, nine studio albums since their debut in 2000, in addition to a number of live recordings, DVDs and compilations speaking for themselves.

Having said that, it’s surprising that the Austrian band surrounding vocalist Sabine Edelsbacher have once again succeeded in raising the bar for symphonic melodic metal even further with their latest album, Dynamind. Composer and multi-instrumentalist Lanvall has produced another offering that’s ambitioned in every respect and will without a doubt go down in the band’s history as their toughest release to date.

Dynamind will be released as 2CD digipak, 2LP gatefold, download and stream. Pre-order here.

Tracklisting:

"The Memory Hunter"
"Live And Let Go"
"Where Oceans Collide"
"On The Other Side"
"All Our Yesterdays"
"The Edge Of Your World"
"Tauerngold"
"What Dreams May Come"
"The Last Of His Kind"
"Dynamind"

Sabine Edelsbacher - Vocals
Lanvall - Guitars & Keyboards
Dominik Sebastian - Guitars
Stefan Gimpl - Bass
Johannes Jungreithmeier - Drums

ALTER BRIDGE To Release 'Walk The Sky' Album In October; European Tour With SHINEDOWN, SEVENDUST Announced

ALTER BRIDGE To Release 'Walk The Sky' Album In October; European Tour With SHINEDOWN, SEVENDUST Announced

ALTER BRIDGE will release its sixth studio album, "Walk The Sky", on October 18 via Napalm Records. The 14-track opus marks a creative highpoint for the quartet comprised of Myles Kennedy on vocals/guitars, Mark Tremonti on guitars/vocals, Brian Marshall on bass and Scott Phillips on drums. "Walk The Sky" is a complete career retrospective drawing upon elements from each of the band's previous releases to create something new.

Recorded in a fresh way, "Walk The Sky" was born from complete song ideas created by Kennedy and Tremonti. This material was then worked on by the entire band to develop "Walk The Sky" into a unique listening experience. This varies from the band's previous method, going back to their sophomore release, "Blackbird", where Kennedy and Tremonti would combine individual ideas and riffs alongside producer Michael "Elvis" Baskette to form some of their most revered songs. From the opening vocal melody on "One Life" to the moving finale of "Dying Light", ALTER BRIDGE has created a formidable addition to its music catalog. Songs like "Godspeed", "Native Son" and "Walking On The Sky" are sure to be early additions to the live set. "Forever Falling" also marks a lead vocal return from Tremonti, with Kennedy taking the chorus, as done previously on the "Fortress" favorite "Waters Rising". The first single, "Wouldn't You Rather", will be released in two weeks.

DEADLAND RITUAL Feat. GEEZER BUTLER, MATT SORUM, STEVE STEVENS: Video Of London Concert

DEADLAND RITUAL Feat. GEEZER BUTLER, MATT SORUM, STEVE STEVENS: Video Of London Concert

Fan-filmed video footage of DEADLAND RITUAL's performance earlier tonight (Thursday, June 13) at the O2 Academy Islington in London, England can be seen below.

DEADLAND RITUAL is the new band featuring bassist Geezer Butler (BLACK SABBATH), guitarist Steve Stevens (BILLY IDOL, VINCE NEIL), drummer Matt Sorum (GUNS N' ROSES, VELVET REVOLVER) and singer Franky Perez (APOCALYPTICA).

DEADLAND RITUAL's setlist consists of several original tracks alongside classic songs from the members' previous bands, including BLACK SABBATH's "Symptom Of The Universe", "Neon Knights" and "Sweet Leaf", VELVET REVOLVER's "Slither" and BILLY IDOL's "Rebel Yell".

In a recent interview with Billboard, Butler spoke about which songs might make it into DEADLAND RITUAL's live set, saying: "We're thinking about doing seven original songs, which we've done up to now. Probably three or four SABBATH songs. 'N.I.B.', because that's what I'm associated with particularly; the bass intro and all that kind of stuff. And some stuff that SABBATH didn't do, like 'Symptom Of the Universe'. Steve loves that one. And Franky likes 'Heaven And Hell' and we might do one or two others; see which ones work out best in rehearsals. But more obscure SABBATH songs, rather than 'Iron Man' or 'Paranoid', that's been done a million times. A couple VELVET REVOLVER. 'Slither' definitely, I'm not sure bout the second one, and I think we're going to do 'Rebel Yell' [by] Billy Idol."

Butler went on to say that there is no long-term plan for DEADLAND RITUAL at the moment. "We're just going to see how it goes," he said. "We've written seven songs up to now, so we have to get those recorded. We've got quite a few record companies interested. But at first, it was 'have a jam, and let's do some festivals.' But it seems to have gone beyond that, people are taking it more seriously now. So if things work out with the gigs that we do we'll carry on. I'm excited about it. I really like the music we're doing, not restricted to any kind of formula. And as I say, each track stands on its own, different in its own way. I'm really looking forward looking to it."

DEADLAND RITUAL recently released its first two songs, "Down In Flames" and "Broken And Bruised". Both tracks, which were produced by Greg Fidelman (METALLICA, SLIPKNOT), were made available via Sonik Riot Records/AWAL powered by Kobalt.

DEADLAND RITUAL made its live debut on May 28 at the Troubadour in West Hollywood, California.

JASON MOMOA Says It Was 'Childhood Dream' To Meet 'Idols' SLAYER And ANTHRAX At Budapest Show

JASON MOMOA Says It Was 'Childhood Dream' To Meet 'Idols' SLAYER And ANTHRAX At Budapest Show

Jason Momoa, the hulking star of the superhero film "Aquaman", attended last night's concert by SLAYER and ANTHRAX in Budapest, Hungary. The 39-year-old "Game Of Thrones" actor, who has been open about his love of heavy metal, later took to his Instagram to proclaim the night ""one of the greatest shows of my life" and described the experience of hanging out backstage with the members of the two bands as a "childhood dream." He added: "My mind was blown. Meeting your idols and they're fucking amazing. So thankful, so grateful."

ANTHRAX drummer Charlie Benante posted his own snapshot from the evening of drinking with Khal Drago, writing on Instagram: "When #KhalDrogocomes to your show, you immediately go into @gameofthronestalk!" Meanwhile, SLAYER guitarist Gary Holt refered to Momoa as the "Coolest dude on EARTH!!!"

Last year, Momoa revealed that METALLICA and TOOL served as inspiration for his character in "Aquaman", telling Metal Hammer in an interview: "Aquaman's pretty metal. I know no one thinks that, but Aquaman's metal."

He singled out METALLICA's debut album, "Kill 'Em All", and the TOOL song "Ticks And Leeches" as two pieces of music that influenced his portrayal of Arthur Curry's alter-ego.

"There's a lot of [BLACK] SABBATH in there too," Momoa added.

Back in 2011, Momoa discussed the heavy metal influences that prepped him up for his role as the legendary barbarian in "Conan". "There's a song by PANTERA called 'Walk' that is definitely the 'Conan song,'" he said. "A lot of old METALLICA and RAGE AGAINST THE MACHINE always helps."

RAMMSTEIN: Quality Video Of Dresden Concert

RAMMSTEIN: Quality Video Of Dresden Concert

Fan-filmed video footage of RAMMSTEIN's June 12 concert at Rudolf-Harbig-Stadion in Dresden, Germany can be seen below.

RAMMSTEIN kicked off its 2019 European tour on May 27 at Veltins-Arena in Gelsenkirchen, Germany.

The band's current setlist includes no less than nine songs off RAMMSTEIN's new, untitled (or self-titled) album, plus such fan favorites as "Sonne", "Rammstein", "Du Hast" and "Ich Will".

RAMMSTEIN's European tour is scheduled to conclude on August 23 in Vienna, Austria.

In a recent interview with Revolver magazine, RAMMSTEIN guitarist Richard Z. Kruspe stated about the band's live performance: "There are always going to be these old dinosaurs that have a certain kind of performance that will survive. I'm talking about the new generation rock. What happens at the moment is that kids these days don't have that feeling when they play their favorite rock tracks to annoy the parents. Guitars are not annoying anymore so what they're using, especially in Germany, they're using their voice, the lyrics, which basically mostly happens in hip-hop. They start to rebel against everything, and hip-hop is the soundtrack. It's all about hip-hop at the moment, which is hard to me because hip-hop was always kind of a music that I couldn't relate to. If I got to a festival and see a hip-hop group play, I'm so bored. That's one advantage rock still has over hip-hop. There's a visual and sonic connection between the band and the audience."

RAMMSTEIN's seventh studio album came out on May 17 via UME/Spinefarm in Europe and Caroline Records in the U.S. The band's first studio disc since 2009's "Liebe Ist Für Alle Da" was produced by Olsen Involtini with RAMMSTEIN and was mixed at a Santa Monica, California studio with Rich Costey, an American producer who has previously worked with MUSE, RAGE AGAINST THE MACHINE and FRANZ FERDINAND, among others.

Exclusive: ANOXIA Premieres “To The Lions” Video

Exclusive: ANOXIA Premieres “To The Lions” Video

AnoxiA is back with their sophomore full length effort To The Lions. AnoxiA has spent the time since the release of their previous full-length, the critically acclaimed A Lapdance For The Devil, partially on the road and partially in rehearsal and the studio, crafting the nine songs that would eventually become To The Lions. The musical direction on To The Lions is old school heavy metal – melodic, yet hardhitting and thrashy at times. At times even a modern twist sneaks in. The songs are carved around strong riffing a wide array of vocal variation, supporting the musical landscapes. Check out the first single and title track, premiered by BraveWords, below:

To The Lions is in the natural vein of AnoxiA’s previous works, not deviating too much from the recognizable AnoxiA-formula of heavy metal. However, this time AnoxiA decided on a more direct and clear edge to the sound, allowing the songs to speak more for themselves. The musical direction bears references to the likes of Iron Maiden, Slayer, In Flames, and a lot of classic hard rock and ‘80s thrash.

Guitarist Claus S. Nielsen states: “This time our approach to the writing process was to create aggressive and raw, yet melodic and memorable heavy metal songs that first hit you between the eyes and then stick in your ears! That has indeed been a pleasant journey, however with many a fun detour along the way. ”

Vocalist and guitarist Lars Frederiksen elaborate: “We wanted to keep intact the AnoxiA trademark, but at the same time also to renew or refine our sound. By teaming up with our longtime friends, Ole W. Bertelsen (producing, recording, mixing)) and Simon Joergensen (drum recording) we gained a more direct and dynamic sound than the previous album. Adding Jacob Hansen at Hansen Studios, who in fact did some of our first demos in 2000, for mastering the album, gave the new album the last boost and we’re very satisfied with the sound.”

AnoxiA is a well-established act on the Danish underground live metal scene, their longevity dating back 20+ years. Hell bent on having fun during performance, AnoxiA approaches any gig fully charged, sincerely convinced that in order for the audience to enjoy, the band must enjoy.
