FACE WITHOUT FEAR Feat. Former STATIC-X/DOPE Guitarist TRIPP EISEN: 'Deliverance' Lyric Video

FACE WITHOUT FEAR Feat. Former STATIC-X/DOPE Guitarist TRIPP EISEN: 'Deliverance' Lyric Video

The official lyric video for the song "Deliverance" from FACE WITHOUT FEAR, the new industrial rock band featuring ex-STATIC-X and DOPE guitarist Tripp Eisen, can be seen below.

The group, which also features Ken "Mantis" Hoyt (CRUSHPILE) on vocals, T.J. Cooke (METHODICAL) on drums, and Dante on guitar, will make its live debut on August at QXT's in Newark, New Jersey. An EP is tentatively due this summer.

Formed in 2017 by Eisen, FACE WITHOUT FEAR draws you in with gritty-yet-polished guitar work, electronic sampling, and metal vocals infused with surprisingly refined melodic phrasing. In terms of lyricism, the concepts of individualism, liberty and freedom, as well as the universal experience with human relationships permeate their lyrics. The band also takes inspiration from the conceptual and futuristic world of Ayn Rand, and is where the band's name is drawn from ("Atlas Shrugged: Part II", Chapter 9).

Eisen combed the entire East Coast searching for the right chemistry and like-minded creative souls, and soon added Hoyt and Cooke, both local legends themselves, of CRUSHPILE and METHODICAL, respectively.

FACE WITHOUT FEAR has flavors of Tripp's previous projects along with elements of rock, metal and punk. The product is an industrial, nu-metal, groove-oriented mash. Eisen says: "This is the industrial-metal heritage that I've immersed myself in through the years; combining everything I've played since my inception, through many collaborations and crucibles and on up to this current incarnation. It's not just mindlessness and meaningless lyrics over metalized riffing and programming. We want to give our audience something to think about."

FACE WITHOUT FEAR's live show will feature an album's worth of original material, plus a few treats for fans of Tripp's previous projects as well as a few dynamic updated covers by such artists at THE BEATLES, RAMONES and MISFITS.

The first demo of "Deliverance" dates back to Tripp's time in STATIC-X, and, with Kenny's help, it's been updated and supercharged. "I am the real thing, won't you breathe in me, remove your disguise, even if it bleeds, I want the real thing" The vocalist says: "It's about bearing your soul, allowing your true identity to be seen by others, and the vulnerability that goes along with it."

Eisen — whose real name is Tod Rex Salvador — has kept a relatively low profile for more than a decade since serving time for meeting and sexually assaulting two underage females in January and February 2005.

Two years ago, Eisen told Totally Driven Radio that his arrest and prison sentence was "a difficult time of my life" and insisted that he has "learned from it" and "grown. What happened to me was really bad judgment, terrible mistakes that I made, and I paid a price for 'em," he said.

Last week, STATIC-X accused Eisen of "attempting to gain credibility through his past association" with the band. The group also denied that Eisen was actively involved in the making of STATIC-X's upcoming album. Titled "Project Regeneration", the disc will feature the last recordings of the band's late frontman Wayne Static, who passed away more than four years ago.

"Our new album, 'Sudden Sky', is a digital representation of who we are at this moment in time," CROWN THE EMPIRE stated. "It captures our innermost fears and anxieties while questioning humanity and the chaos of the world we live in today. This urgent search for meaning taught us that the only way to truly be human is to be vulnerable. 'Sudden chance and destruction will lead to your liberation...'"

"Sudden Sky" track listing:

01. (X)

02. 20/20

03. What I Am

04. BLURRY (Out Of Place)

05. Red Pills

06. MZRY

07. Under The Skin

08. 01. SEQU3NCE

09. March Of The Ignorant

10. Sudden Sky

CROWN THE EMPIRE previously shared the video for "Sudden Sky". The band stated about the track: "We're born into this world with nothing. No preconceptions. No knowledge of how we got here. No awareness of what or who we are. This is where conformity begins...

"Today, our society is being shaped by the digital revolution. Technology is growing at an exponential rate. Humans are more connected than ever before. Unlimited information is in the palm of our hands. But there's something wrong...we've become emotionally disconnected.

"Instead of confronting our problems, we numb them with drugs and technological overload. We're addicted to social media and instant gratification. The lines between what's real and what's not are extremely blurred.

"There's a glitch in this system and we need to find a solution before it's too late...The music video for 'Sudden Sky' is a visual representation of this never-ending cycle. By watching this, you are submersing yourself into our view on the current state of humanity."

At the end of July, CROWN THE EMPIRE will hit the road with ATTILA, VEIL OF MAYA and GIDEON.

Twenty-three years after dropping their last full-length, Sacred Reich are returning in force with the towering Awakening. The new album showcases everything a fan would expect and hope for from the Phoenix, Arizona crew, it is a timeless collection comprised of blistering thrash, crushing grooves, killer solos and socially conscious lyrics that demonstrate a true understanding of everything that matters most in the world today. The return of Dave McClain, who manned the drum throne from 1991 to 1997, and the addition of 22 year old Joey Radziwill playing guitar, alongside original members guitarist Wiley Arnett and vocalist/bassist Phil Rind are integral facets of the record.

Speaking on this current line-up of Sacred Reich, Phil Rind says: "Dave is such a killer drummer and person. He works every day to become a better drummer, and I mean every day. His work ethic is inspiring. As much as he has accomplished, he is still open to what comes. Joey brings a higher level of musicianship and tightness to our band, and he brings a freshness to us. He gives us an opportunity for us to see things from a different perspective, and all of us were blown away by what he can do with a guitar and how effortlessly he does it."

To track the album, the band headed into Platinum Underground in Mesa, AZ, and employed producer Arthur Rizk (Power Trip, Cavalera Conspiracy) and engineer John Aquilino. The album was mastered by Maor Appelbaum at Maor Appelbaum Mastering, CA.

Speaking on his band's long awaited new album, Rind adds: "Going into it, we had a loose idea as far as knowing that we wanted some fast, heavy songs to honor the old school fans that have supported us and gotten us to this point. We wanted everything to happen naturally. We didn't want to force anything and we are super stoked with every song. It is easily the best thing we have ever done. Regardless of what happens with the record, the experience of making it was enough to satisfy us. Obviously we hope people like it, but even if it tanked, it could not change the way we feel about it. We know what we did."

Awakening tracklisting:

"Awakening"
"Divide & Conquer"
"Salvation"
"Manifest Reality"
"Killing Machine"
"Death Valley"
"Revolution"
"Something To Believe"

Watch GHOST Perform Acoustic Version Of 'Dance Macabre' At Belgium's STUDIO BRUSSEL

Watch GHOST Perform Acoustic Version Of 'Dance Macabre' At Belgium's STUDIO BRUSSEL

Video footage of GHOST performing an acoustic version of the song "Dance Macabre" live at Belgium's Studio Brussel can be seen below.

Last year, GHOST mastermind Tobias Forge told Loudwire about "Dance Macabre": "'Dance Macabre' feels like one of those songs that you want to play forever. [Laughs] It's our 'Living After Midnight'. It's just a song that we really needed. It makes most people very happy when we play it and it makes us happy playing it."

GHOST is spending the bulk of its summer as special guest on METALLICA's four-leg "WorldWired" European stadium tour. Leg one saw GHOST playing to more than a quarter-million fans; leg two kicked off on June 8, and legs three and four will take place July and August. GHOST will perform at Heavy Montreal on July 27, and then kick off its North American "Ultimate Tour Named Death" headline arena tour on September 13.

Last month, Forge confirmed to Revolver that he will return to the studio in January 2020 to begin work on the band's follow-up to 2018's "Prequelle" album.

"Prequelle" debuted in June 2018 at No. 3 on the Billboard 200 chart. It has yielded the chart-topping "Rats" and "Dance Macabre", a well as the new single "Faith".

TWIN TEMPLE Streaming New Song "Satan's A Woman"

TWIN TEMPLE Streaming New Song "Satan's A Woman"

Los Angeles-based Satanic Doo Wop duo, Twin Temple, have returned with the first offering of new material since releasing their debut album. The band's new single, "Satan's A Woman", continues to echo the band's unmatched voice against the elements of misogyny, racism, homophobia and discrimination in all forms.

Proud allies of reproductive rights and feminism, Alexandra and Zachary James issued the following statement about the new track: "Satan has loomed large as a kind of patron deity of rock ’n’ roll, and yet, the Devil is always referred to as a He. Why do we always automatically assume that God, or The Devil is a “He”? It demonstrates our deeply rooted beliefs about who holds authority, power and holiness: men. To us, Satan is a symbol for rebellion, individualism, freedom and equality, and is not, and should not be limited to a male gender. This song is intended to disrupt the patriarchy, and all your preconceived notions about Satan, set to the golden sounds of 50’s and 60’s rock ’n’ roll."

Twin Temple live dates:

June
19 - San Francisco, CA - Bottom of the Hill
21 - Portland, OR - Dante’s
23 - Los Angeles, CA - The Roxy (Sold Out)

August
18 - Las Vegas, NV - Mandalay Bay Events Center (Psycho Las Vegas)

September
28 - West Valley, UT - Maverik Center (opening for Ghost)

EUROPE Performs At Wedding Of Real Madrid Footballer And Model Girlfriend

EUROPE Performs At Wedding Of Real Madrid Footballer And Model Girlfriend

Swedish hard rockers EUROPE performed at the wedding of Sergio Ramos and Pilar Rubio on Saturday, June 15 in Seville, Spain. The band reportedly arrived on stage in a red dragon that was held by a crane, and played a 40-minute set of its classic songs, including the timeless hit "The Final Countdown".

It was originally reported that either AC/DC or AEROSMITH would perform at the the reception, which took place on Ramos's farm, with some reports suggesting that AC/DC was offered a million euros for the gig. In the end, the rumors proved to be false, and the Australian hard rock legends were nowhere to be seen at the event.

The Real Madrid defender and his model girlfriend reportedly also hired Italian electronic artist Gianluca Vacchi to play a set last night.

EUROPE is continuing to play shows in support of its critically acclaimed eleventh studio album, "Walk The Earth", which was released in October 2017 via Hell & Back Recordings (Silver Lining Music). It was recorded at famed Abbey Road Studios in London with Grammy Award-winning producer Dave Cobb (RIVAL SONS, Shooter Jennings, Jason Isbell, Chris Stapleton).

MARILYN MANSON Officially Introduces New Drummer BRANDON PERTZBORN

MARILYN MANSON Officially Introduces New Drummer BRANDON PERTZBORN

Marilyn Manson has confirmed that he has recruited Brandon Pertzborn to play drums for his namesake band.

The Texas-based Pertzborn, who is apparently only 24, has toured with a number of different artists over the years, including BLACK FLAG, DOYLE and HO99O9, the latter of which opened for MARILYN MANSON last fall.

Earlier today, Manson tweeted out a photo of him with Brandon, along with the caption: "Me and my drummer Brandon Pertzborn"

In May 2018, Brandon played with SUICIDAL TENDENCIES, filling in for Dave Lombardo, when they opened the MISFITS reunion show in Newark, New Jersey.

Drummer Gil Sharone announced his departure from MARILYN MANSON in March, explaining in a statement that it was "time" for him "to pursue other current and future projects."

The Los Angeles native joined Manson's band in 2013 and was featured on the shock rocker's last two records, "The Pale Emperor" and "Heaven Upside Down".

Marilyn Manson and Rob Zombie will embark on the 2019 leg of their notorious "Twins Of Evil" tour this summer. Produced by Live Nation, the co-headlining North American summer trek, which is subtitled "Hell Never Dies Tour 2019", kicks off in Baltimore, Maryland on July 9 and makes stops at Rock USA in Oshkosh, Wisconisin and Rock Fest in Cadott, Wisconsin.

MÖTLEY CRÜE: 'The Dirt' Audiobook To Be Released Next Week

MÖTLEY CRÜE: 'The Dirt' Audiobook To Be Released Next Week

MÖTLEY CRÜE's official biography, "The Dirt: Confessions Of The World's Most Notorious Rock Band", will be available next week (June 25) in audiobook format from HarperAudio and Dey Street Books.

Pre-order "The Dirt" audiobook now — the outrageous, legendary, no-holds-barred New York Times best-selling book by MÖTLEY CRÜE. Celebrate over 35 years of CRÜE with this multi-voice edition performed by Sebastian York, Roger Wayne, Fred Berman, MacLeod Andrews and Hillary Huber.

Fans have gotten glimpses into the band's crazy world of backstage scandals, celebrity love affairs, roller-coaster drug addictions, and immortal music in CRÜE's autobiography "The Dirt" since 2001 when the book first came out. The autobiography of Tommy Lee, Nikki Sixx, Vince Neil and Mick Mars features the full spectrum of sin and success, as well as a cautionary tale about the rock 'n' roll lifestyle. Now, Harper Audio and Dey Street Books present "The Dirt" in audiobook format for the very first time.

Sixx told Variety that MÖTLEY CRÜE "tossed around" the idea of narrating the audiobook themselves, but "it just didn't feel right for us," he said.

He added that he and his bandmates pushed for an audiobook when "The Dirt" was first released, but in the pre-streaming audio era, there was small demand for such books on disc. "There wasn't a big enough audience to invest in it," he said. "But with technology advances, fan demand and now the movie, it was a great opportunity to release this now.”"

"The Dirt" audiobook is unabridged and retails for $29 — higher than many other audiobooks, which a HarperAudio rep explained to Variety is due to its lengthy run time of nearly 15 hours.

Watch ANTHRAX Perform Acoustic Set At U.K.'s DOWNLOAD Festival

Watch ANTHRAX Perform Acoustic Set At U.K.'s DOWNLOAD Festival

ANTHRAX played an acoustic set over the weekend at this year's Download festival at Donington Park in Leicestershire, England. The event was part of Zippo Encore's "Zippo Sessions", exclusive, intimate acoustic sessions with some of the hottest bands playing at the major festivals that the company booth attends. Watch video footage of the performance below.

ANTHRAX guitarist Scott Ian recently spoke to Rock Hard about the progress of the songwriting sessions for the band's follow-up to 2016's "For All Kings" album. He said: "It's still very skeletal. But we have some really strong skeletons. Like, not shitty skeletons — really strong skeletons with flaming swords, like from an old Sinbad movie or something. Yeah, we've got some really cool stuff. I think there's five now really great ideas — just music; musical arrangements. I haven't even really given it any thought yet. Probably after this summer's done, like when we finish in August, we'll have some time in late August and in September where we're gonna be off tour, and I think that's probably when I'll start thinking about what I wanna say. But I'm really, really happy with the music. It sounds great. The riffs are fucking awesome. And yeah, I'm really excited about it."

"For All Kings" was called by some critics ANTHRAX's strongest album to date. Its arrival followed a five-year period during which the band experienced a rebirth of sorts, beginning with ANTHRAX's inclusion on the 2010 "Big Four" tour with METALLICA, SLAYER and MEGADETH, and continuing with the 2011 release of comeback LP "Worship Music".

The group's upcoming disc will be ANTHRAX's third full-length release since the return of singer Joey Belladonna, who came back into the fold for the "Big Four" shows, in the process helping inspire a new wave of creativity.

STATUS QUO To Release 'Backbone' Album In September

STATUS QUO To Release 'Backbone' Album In September

On September 6, STATUS QUO will release "Backbone" through earMUSIC/Edel; the band's 33rd studio album – the LP will be their 33rd 33rpm!

Some doubters said "Backbone" was a record that could not be made, but the 2019 lineup of STATUS QUO has been through a lot, they have chalked up 130 shows as a unit and travelled tens of thousands of miles. This is a group of musicians that is strong, that back each other up and are tighter than ever. "Backbone" features of a trio songs drawn from the classic partnership of Rossi/Young as well as contributions from all of the rest of the band.

The 11-track album was recorded at Francis's studio in the late months of 2018 and into this year. The sessions were initially just to keep the juices flowing, improvise and have fun. As the hours rolled on, songs stacked up, everyone began to believe that something special was happening. And so it proved. Even from within the group, there had been some resistance to creating a new record.

As Francis says: "This new material had to be seriously good. QUO have achieved so much and meant so much to too many people for the quality to slip now. Also, let's face it, things have changed and we're an easier target than ever.

"Losing Rick was hard to bear but, through Richie Malone, who was inspired to pick up a guitar by him, we can not only keep going but actually pick up the pace. The energy that he and Leon bring to QUO can't be underestimated.

"I wasn't sure I had another album in me, but I couldn't be more proud of 'Backbone'. I hope the fans love it, but you can't please everyone and I'm not going to start trying to now."

To have "backbone" means to stand firm, to stand up for what you believe in. The title fits. The hundreds of songs recorded by QUO over half a century still resonate today, and the tracks on this album are a worthy addition to that incredible catalogue. A new QUO studio album is a cause for celebration, especially when it kicks like this one. And for the doubters? A "backbone" is also a support, a unifying element that keeps things in shape. Underlying this new record are the core desires to keep creating, to be the best and to keep playing: these are the qualities that have kept QUO at the top for so long. "Backbone" will ensure that Francis Rossi and QUO keep standing proud. And, by naming the album "Backbone", they're ready for the "Spinal Tap" headlines too!

"Backbone" track listing:

01. Waiting For A Woman (Rossi/Young)

02. Cut Me Some Slack (Rossi/Edwards)

03. Liberty Lane (Rossi/Edwards)

04. I See You're in Some Trouble (Rossi/Young)

05. Backing Off (Bown/Rossi)

06. I Wanna Run Away With You (Rossi/Young)

07. Backbone (Rossi/Edwards)

08. Better Take Care (John David)

BAD BRAINS Frontman To Release 'Give Thanks' Solo Album In October

BAD BRAINS Frontman To Release 'Give Thanks' Solo Album In October

BAD BRAINS frontman Paul "HR" Hudson will release his new solo album, "Give Thanks", on October 18 via Hardline Entertainment.

Formed in 1979, BAD BRAINS took the Washington, D.C. music scene by storm and quickly became the most influential band in American punk history, breaking down cultural barriers and creating emotionally charged music centered on the message of maintaining a positive mental attitude (PMA). This concept of PMA continues to inspire HR's fans.

Early in his career, HR became interested in reggae and the Rastafarian movement. These pursuits transformed him, and he began to focus more on the spiritual nature of reggae rather than the fast lifestyle of the punk scene. In 1984, HR formed his reggae-rock band HUMAN RIGHTS, which has performed and recorded in various incarnations for more than three decades. The current incarnation has a refined yet organic energy that hasn't been felt since the early days of HUMAN RIGHTS.

HR's music speaks to the youth of today encouraging them to practice gratitude, to never give up on their dreams, and to live in unity.

DEVOURMENT To Release Obscene Majesty Album In August; "Cognitive Sedation Butchery" Track Streaming

DEVOURMENT To Release Obscene Majesty Album In August; "Cognitive Sedation Butchery" Track Streaming

After six long years, Devourment returns to raw form, embodying brutality with their ferocious new album, Obscene Majesty, set for release August 16 via Relapse Records.

For Obscene Majesty, Devourment reunited with producer D. Braxton Henry, who played in the band on their infamous track "Babykiller" and helped craft the band's sound on their first three albums. The record also sees founding member Brad Fincher back on drums, Ruben Rosas returning to lead vocals (a formation previously only heard on the legendary Molesting The Decapitated), bassist Chris Andrews handling eight-string guitar, and Dave Spencer taking over bass. The pioneers of brutal death metal have sharpened their blades once again and are unleashing some of the most disgustingly heavy slam ever.

Clubbing blows from tracks like "Cognitive Sedation Butchery," "Narcissistic Paraphilia," and "Dysmorphic Autophagia" see the veterans as imposing and menacing as ever. Buzzsaw guitars shred through limbs against head-caving, hammering drums. Deathly, blood-soaked vocals personify pain and torture. Obscene Majesty is the epitome of uncontrollable destruction from beginning to end, as Devourment crush through break-neck speeds, deafening ears and melting faces along the way. Focusing on the very elements of gore, death, and mutilation that have crowned the band as kings of the scene for over two decades, Devourment forces you to bear witness to the Obscene Majesty.

View Devourment's "Cognitive Sedation Butchery" visualizer below.

Obscene Majesty will be released on CD, LP, and digital formats. Physical packages are available for preorder via Relapse.com here. Digital downloads/streaming services are available here.

Throughout Devourment's twenty-four years of extreme existence, one thing has remained constant: unyielding brutality. Formed in 1995 and hailing from Dallas, Texas, Devourment has remained consistent and powerful throughout several reformations, leading many to celebrate them as the heaviest death metal band in the world due to their influential blend of vicious slam elements with an old school death metal sound.

Devourment took the underground by storm with 1999's landmark Molesting The Decapitated, released on United Guttural. After dissolving in the early 2000s, they reformed and returned with Butcher The Weak (self-released in 2005; re-recorded and reissued by Brutal Bands in 2006). Unleash The Carnivore was released by Brutal Bands in 2009. On the power of these LPs, and the band's explosive live shows, Devourment soon became one of the most infamous acts in the death metal underground throughout the last decade.

In 2010, Devourment signed to Relapse Records for the eventual release of their fourth album Conceived In Sewage in 2013. The band teamed with masterful producer Erik Rutan of Hate Eternal and Morbid Angel for the album. Throughout the coming years, Devourment performed at major extreme metal festivals like Hellfest, Maryland Deathfest, and Obscene Extreme, and toured throughout the U.S., Europe, South America, and Asia.

Video Premiere: ATREYU's 'House Of Gold'

Video Premiere: ATREYU's 'House Of Gold'

ATREYU's music video for the song "House Of Gold" can be seen below. The track is taken from the band's latest album, "In Our Wake", which was released last October via Spinefarm.

Says ATREYU: "'House Of Gold' is a really important song on the album. This song is about finding pure love. For us, that was through our children. It's finding something or someone that truly gives you purpose.

"For this video, we didn't want to take a literal approach and wanted to sort of just go off the rails. This is an extension of the video aesthetic we've dove into so far on this record but with a sort of comic book alternate reality twist. The director, Monte Legaspi, really made this his own and created something truly unique."

Last month, ATREYU guitarist Travis Miguel told the "Mike James Rock Show"that the band will probably begin work on the follow-up to "In Our Wake" in early 2020. Travis also talked about ATREYU's musical diversity, saying: "We're not a one-trick pony. We can do other things, and we're going to do other things. 'Cause if we were just repeating ourselves over and over again, it would get extremely boring for us as the band and probably for the listeners too. It would be like, Okay. Great. Here's another ATREYU album. I know exactly what it's gonna be.' And some bands can pull that off. But we wanna explore different things.

"It's always good to not forget your past or deny your past, or whatever, but it's also just as important, if not more important, to keep looking forward," he added. "And that's pretty much our plan."

ATREYU singer Alex Varkatzas skipped the band's recent European tour. The vocalist explained in a statement that he "aggravated a damaged disc" in his back prior to the band's "Spring Invasion" tour with MOTIONLESS IN WHITE and said that a "surprise" diagnosis of inguinal hernia added to his woes.

Drummer Brandon Saller — who shares lead vocals with Varkatzas in ATREYU — and bassist Marc McKnight took care of the singing on the European tour, with Varkatzas tentatively due to return to the group in time for this summer's Rockstar Disrupt trek.

DEATHSTARS Begins Recording Fifth Album, Reunites With Guitarist CAT CASINO

DEATHSTARS Begins Recording Fifth Album, Reunites With Guitarist CAT CASINO

Swedish industrial rockers DEATHSTARS are in the studio recording their fifth album for an early 2020 release. The band has also reunited with guitarist Cat Casino, a key character in the group's history.

Cat, who has most recently been writing, producing and playing lead guitar for Hank Von Helvete (ex-TURBONEGRO), originally joined DEATHSTARS for the "Termination Bliss" tours in 2006, but left after the excessive touring in 2011 and 2012 because of personal reasons.

Cat says: "It feels great to finaly make it official. We've been talking about it for well over two years, so releasing the news really feels great. Especially since so many of you have been asking us about it every day. Now you know! We're back, I'm back, we're hungry and we have so much going on and we look forward to show you the things coming up.

"Even though I've been active writing and playing for other artists, this feels like coming home. And, to be totally honest, I've missed every part of being a piece of it. The love, fights, darkness, insane hours, parties and everything else that we all hate to love. Most of all, I've missed the completely MENTAL fans around the world. I'm stoked to see you all again somewhere in the world, and the new album is gonna kick some serious ass!"

DEATHSTARS will play its first show in four years at the Graspop Metal Meeting in Dessel, Belgium on June 21. Sitting behind the drum kit for DEATHSTARS' summer festival appearances will be Marcus Johansson from the Swedish band REACH.

DEATHSTARS' fourth studio album, "The Perfect Cult", was released in June 2014 via Nuclear Blast.

URIAH HEEP Singer Defends ROB HALFORD Over Phone-Kicking Incident: 'I Can Sure Understand The Frustration'

URIAH HEEP Singer Defends ROB HALFORD Over Phone-Kicking Incident: 'I Can Sure Understand The Frustration'

URIAH HEEP's Bernie Shaw has defended Rob Halford over an incident last month when the JUDAS PRIEST singer kicked a cell phone out of a fan's hand during a concert because the fan was allegedly interfering with his performance. The incident happened six songs into PRIEST's May 25 set in Rosemont, Illinois, where the group was playing as part of its North American tour with URIAH HEEP.

According to eyewitness accounts, Halford appeared frustrated that the fan had turned on the light on his camera on while filming the show, making it harder for the singer to focus on his performance. As a result, Halford decided to kick the cell phone away while the band was playing the song "Judas Rising".

After footage of the episode went viral, Halford issued a statement in which he said: "The facts are we love our fans and you can film us all you like and watch our show on your phone rather than in the flesh. However, if you physically interfere with The Metal God's performance, you now know what will happen."

Shaw addressed the incident during a recent appearance on the "Do You Know Jack?" podcast. Admitting that Halford might have taken "it a little bit too far" in the way he responded to the fan," the URIAH HEEP singer added that he "can sure understand [Rob's] frustration. 'Cause as a performer, you get into the moment, you get into the mood, and you don't come out of character until you walk offstage. And for him to get interrupted like that… His space was invaded, in my opinion. This is only truly my opinion. I don't think it was the right thing to do — maybe he overreacted — but I can sure understand where it came from."

He continued: "[The audience is] getting carried away with the adrenaline and the evening as well, but there's a fine line — there's a bit of decorum. And in my opinion, there should be a little bit more respect to the band that you supposedly like and follow."

Asked for his personal view on people filming entire concerts on their cameras and uploading them to the Internet, Shaw said: "Personally, I'm not a lover of people that steal my show. The audience pay good money to come to a concert and enjoy the evening and enjoy the event and the adrenaline and the energy. And for somebody who just thinks that they can waltz right in, get their little GoPro out and steal my show — 'cause that's an infringement of copyright… I spent hours, months, years honing my craft, as the whole band did. And we put everything into a show. It costs us thousands of dollars to put on a show with the production. It's a thousand dollars a day just for the bus, let alone the diesel that goes into it at six miles an hour, and let alone the hundred and fifty bucks a day just for the driver. You add everything — all the wages and all that — up, it's a pretty big monetary, financial — whatever you wanna say — investment. And you get people waltzing in with their cameras and their GoPros and just put it up on social media. My personal view is, I don't like it, but I have to embrace it, because at the same instance, it's a little bit of promotion. Back in the day, it used to be sold — you used to be able to buy bootlegs. You probably still can. But it's all up on YouTube now."

Shaw went on to say that the issue with fans filming concerts is "a two-edged sword" for him. I used to really, really dislike it," he said. "I used to stop the show and tell the people to get that camera."

URIAH HEEP is touring in support of its 25th studio album, "Living The Dream", which was released last September via Frontiers Music Srl. The band's ongoing North American tour with JUDAS PRIEST wraps up June 29 in Las Vegas, Nevada.

DAVE MUSTAINE's Daughter On Her Father: 'I Would Do And Give Anything For This Man'

DAVE MUSTAINE's Daughter On Her Father: 'I Would Do And Give Anything For This Man'

Dave Mustaine's daughter has credited her father with teaching her "reliability, perseverance, commitment" and "strength."

The 21-year-old Electra Mustaine made her comments on the same day that the MEGADETH leader publicly revealed that he has been diagnosed with throat cancer.

Electra tweeted out two photos of Dave, including one of her as a little kid being held in her father's arms. She wrote in an accompanying message: "I would do and give anything for this man. Dad... I love you so so much. You've taught me what love should look like, taught me reliability, perseverance, commitment....and mostly, strength. On days when you can't, I will give you mine. #FathersDay @davemustaine"

Mustaine and his family moved to Nashville in October 2014 after living in Fallbrook, California for a couple of years. Dave later said that he relocated to Nashville because he wanted Electra to pursue her country music dreams. "I can do my job anywhere, really," he explained. "It's good for me, because my daughter is happy, and I think, if you love your children, you'll always want to protect and provide for them. And, like I said, I can pretty much do my job anywhere."

In a 2016 interview with Fox News, Electra stated about her dad: "I was very fortunate to have grown up with him as my father and in the household. He's done a lot. He's had a lot of platinum records and awards, et cetera, et cetera. But, yeah, he's offered invaluable advice about how the business works and things to look out for, things to make sure you pay attention with."

Three years ago, Electra released a country cover of the MEGADETH song "I Thought I Knew It All", which originally appeared on the band's 1994 album "Youthanasia".

DEAN GUITARS Team Wishes DAVE MUSTAINE Speedy Recovery Following Cancer Diagnosis

DEAN GUITARS Team Wishes DAVE MUSTAINE Speedy Recovery Following Cancer Diagnosis

All of the staff at Dean Guitars wish a heartfelt and speedy recovery to legacy artist Dave Mustaine following his public statement with a diagnosis of throat cancer.

Since 2007, the MEGADETH leader has been a staunch and vocal supporter of the brand and an integral part of Dean Guitars' mission and success.

Dean CEO Evan Rubinson says: "We rally behind Dave and his family at this time of need and offer any and all support. One of our Dean family is dealing with something that is close to home for me, and we wish, with all our hearts, healing for our brother."

Led by Rubinson, Dean Guitars is a musician-run enterprise, having worked with some of the biggest names in the industry, on the biggest stages, and in the best studios all over the world. Since 1977, Dean Guitars has catered to musicians in all genres, at all skill levels, and has the most recognizable headstock profile in the industry.

Mustaine revealed his cancer diagnosis earlier today on social media. He said that he has already begun treatment as part of a plan that his doctors feel has a "90% success rate."

Mustaine was a member of METALLICA for less than two years, from 1981 to 1983, before being dismissed and replaced by Kirk Hammett. He went on to form MEGADETH and achieve worldwide success of his own.

In the past three and a half decades, Mustaine has earned a loyal following. The Southern California native can be considered an architect of the speed metal movement, which is one of many branches on the family tree of heavy, guitar-based music.

Video Premiere: NONPOINT's 'Fix This'

Video Premiere: NONPOINT's 'Fix This'

NONPOINT has released a music video for the song "Fix This", directed by Eric Richter. Check it out below.

"There are two sides of everything that's broken," said singer Elias Soriano. "One side lives in the world of destruction and the other in the world of repair. The song 'Fix This' dives into what it feels like to be on both sides of the fight."

"Fix This" appears on NONPOINT's latest album, titled "X" and pronounced "Ten," out now via Spinefarm Records. The follow-up to 2016's "The Poison Red" was produced by Fred Archambault, who has previously worked with ATREYU and AVENGED SEVENFOLD, among others.

NONPOINT has also confirmed its summer 2019 tour plans. They will support HELLYEAH July 17 through August 17, with some additional headline shows sprinkled throughout the tour.

In a recent interview with Bods Mayhem Hour, Soriano stated about working with Archambault on "X": "It was a great process. He's a real positive dude who loves to work ideas, loves to add layers and really set a mood and add DNA to a song. He just, you know, pretty much, he loves what we were doing with the writing of our music. He just really wanted to make it sound like the most powerful NONPOINT that we've ever put out."

Elias added that "X" ended up being "the fastest record that we've ever recorded because we were so prepared going in. It was really just about tracking it, but I would say [it took about] 25, 26 days," he said. "Like I said, the music was written. It was just about making it as sound as great as we could. I mean, like I said, the songs were already written. We went in with the pre-production already done. We had already decided what we wanted. After that, it's just performance and making sure you get the right tones. Fred's a professional, Rob Ruccia is a professional. We're on our tenth record, so we went in prepared."

German hard rockers, The New Roses, are back to climb the rock Olympus with their fourth studio album, Nothing But Wild, out on August 2 via Napalm Records. You can pre-order it here.

After successful live appearances all over the world, lately opening for KISS, and the invitation to tour with the legendary Scorpions in summer, the four-piece, centered around vocalist/guitarist Timmy Rough is ready to deliver the long awaited follow up for One For The Road (2017), which hit the top 20 in Germany.

Says the band: “On Nothing But Wild, we fully concentrated on catchy songs with big melodies. Our goal was to record a strong and energetic rock n' roll album without any frills and fillers. Simply true, simply loud, simply wild!”

The first single, “Down By The River”, the ultimate soundtrack to your rock summer.

Singer Timmy Rough states: "Most of the band members grew up near river Rhine. Needless to say that we spent most our youth at the river. A sixpack of beer, a cassette tape deck and a girl you can fall in love with immediately... and the river. That was all we needed. That’s the attitude we put in 'Down By The River'. Probably it will be played on any radio at any river and becomes the soundtrack of somebody’s summer.”

LIGHTNING BORN Featuring CORROSION OF CONFORMITY’s MIKE DEAN Release “Renegade” Video

LIGHTNING BORN Featuring CORROSION OF CONFORMITY’s MIKE DEAN Release “Renegade” Video

Raleigh, NC metal band Lightning Born, featuring bassist Mike Dean (Corrosion Of Conformity), vocalist Brenna Leath (The Hell No), drummer Doza Hawes (Mega Colossus, ex-Bloody Hammers; ex-Hour of 13) and guitarist Erik Sugg (Demon Eye) will release its debut LP, Lightning Born, on June 21st via Ripple Music.

In advance of the record's release, Lightning Born debuts a video for the song "Renegade", and of which Dean says, "'Renegade' is like 1960s TV show theme jazz, drastically simplified for high volume rock-band presentation (a la early Black Sabbath with a short attention span). We thought we would try to swing at a higher velocity."

Formed in 2016, Lightning Born plays heirloom doom metal forged by previous generations and full of practiced rawness, washed out and sandblasted with layers of fuzz. The band's sound is based in an offshoot blues language, gently mournful, that descends into iconic gloom, buttressed by the commanding vocals of Leath, whose lyrical landscape aerates themes of revolution, mortality, brotherhood, consequence, colonization, nihilism, oppression, and revolution.

As to Lightning Born's formation, Dean explains, "I share a studio, where we have done most of the work on the last several COC records. I traded some studio time for a 2” analog tape machine and started making records with local musicians. One of those was Brenna Leath, whose voice and songwriting blew me away when she came in with her punk band, The Hell No."

"On another occasion I had the opportunity to work with an accomplished retro doom / proto-metal band called Demon Eye. They recorded an album called “Prophecies and Lies” with me. Singer / guitarist Erik Sugg mentioned that he and Brenna were teaming up on some new material with a drummer namer “Dozer” or “Dosa”, something like that. It turns out to was Doza Hawes whose main gig, outside of writing robotics manuals, was playing over the top Iron Maiden style drums in Mega Colossus. My impression was that this would be a retro alternate universe aesthetic and I was excited. They mentioned they needed a bass player and I must have invited myself to try out. We made recordings on the run, after work, and between tours. Eventually we had a record, and we are, Ripple Music recording artists."

As for the band's name, Hawes explains: "My son Evan and I were watching 'Carl Sagan’s Cosmos' and he got really excited about the theory that lightning spawned the first complex molecules that eventually led to life on Earth. He said, “we are all born from lightning" and I thought that was a cool phrase. So we flipped that around into Lightning Born, which sounded like a proper, timeless rock band name. Who says watching old school public TV is a waste of time?"

TIDES FROM NEBULA To Release From Voodoo To Zen Album In September

TIDES FROM NEBULA To Release From Voodoo To Zen Album In September

After a three year break, Tides From Nebula, one of the most respected European instrumental bands, will return with their fifth studio album, From Voodoo To Zen. It will be their first album as a trio and is scheduled to be released on September 20 via Long Branch Records (SPV) and Mystic Production.

"It seems that being a three piece made us work harder and challenged us to write better music. I’m pretty sure this is one of the reasons the album ended up sounding so rich and epic," states guitarist Maciej Karbowski. "Musically and visually this new record is a sidestep for us, which came subconsciously. We just followed our gut feeling and as we were recording in our own recording studio, we could work on every small detail and I am sure that this album will develop with every listen. We are super curious about the listeners reaction."

From Voodoo To Zen is without a doubt the most epic and huge sounding album that Tides From Nebula have created so far. The LP is self produced and recorded by the band at Nebula Studio as well as mixed and mastered by Jacek Miłaszewski at 4dB Ride.

From Voodoo To Zen is available for pre-order here.

MEGADETH's DAVE MUSTAINE Diagnosed With Throat Cancer

MEGADETH's DAVE MUSTAINE Diagnosed With Throat Cancer

Dave Mustaine has been diagnosed with throat cancer.

The MEGADETH leader broke the news of his diagnosis earlier today via his social media.

He wrote: "I've been diagnosed with throat cancer. It's clearly something to be respected and faced head on — but I've faced obstacles before. I'm working closely with my doctors, and we've mapped out a treatment plan which they feel has a 90% success rate. Treatment has already begun.

"Unfortunately, this requires that we cancel most shows this year. The 2019 Megacruise will happen, and the band will be a part of it in some form. All up to date information will be at megadeth.com as we get it. MEGADETH will be back on the road ASAP.

"Meanwhile, Kiko [Loureiro, guitar], David [Ellefson, bass], Dirk [Verbeuren, drums] and I are in the studio, working on the follow up to 'Dystopia' — which I can't wait for everyone to hear.

"I'm so thankful for my whole team — family, doctors, band members, trainers, and more.

"I'll keep everyone posted.

"See you soon, Dave Mustaine"

Mustaine was a member of METALLICA for less than two years, from 1981 to 1983, before being dismissed and replaced by Kirk Hammett. He went on to form MEGADETH and achieve worldwide success of his own.

In the past 35 years, Mustaine has earned a loyal following. The Southern California native can be considered an architect of the speed metal movement, which is one of many branches on the family tree of heavy, guitar-based music.

MEGADETH has earned its spot as one of metal's most influential and respected acts of all time. Over the course of its illustrious 36-year career, the band has sold more than 38 million albums worldwide, notched six consecutive platinum efforts, seven Top 10 albums, and has earned numerous accolades, including 12 Grammy nominations and a 2017 Grammy Award in the "Best Metal Performance" category for the "Dystopia" title track.

MEGADETH's "Rust In Peace", "Youthanasia" and "Cryptic Writings" albums were all certified platinum, while "Countdown to Extinction" went double-platinum. The latter record, released in 1992, is also the band’s highest-charting release, as it made it to No. 2 on the Billboard 200.
