ROGER GLOVER: 'I'm Dreading Life Without DEEP PURPLE'

ROGER GLOVER: 'I'm Dreading Life Without DEEP PURPLE'

DEEP PURPLE's Roger Glover says that he is not looking forward to the completion of the band's "The Long Goodbye" tour. The bassist, who is 72 now, told Music Radar in a new interview: "DEEP PURPLE has been such a presence in our lives for 50 years that none of us want it to end, but the realization is there that sooner or later we are going to have to stop. I'd love to go on and make another album. Emotionally, we're not ready to stop, so we could carry on for another four or five years."

Asked if he had any plans for life after DEEP PURPLE, Glover said: "Well, I know I'll always been involved in music, as a writer and as a producer. To be honest, I'm dreading life without DEEP PURPLE. I'm not looking forward to it at all. This has been my working life; I've never had a job. We don't have a final time to stop in mind. I don't know how much time I'll have after the band, but I'll carry on being creative."

Roger went on to say that he is planning on releasing his autobiography. "I've been working on one for about five years now," he said. "It's not easy, because I didn't want a ghostwriter, but I enjoy good writing, and it's a pleasure to write. It's hard to look back and capture who I was years ago. I look at videos of myself playing and I think, 'Who is that person?'

"It's not possible to capture what was in your mind at the time, because memories aren't always reliable," he added. "I've found a load of diaries from the '60s, and I've kept a journal for the last 30 years or so. I just have to work out what I did in the '70s."

b>"The Long Goodbye" started in May 2017 in Europe and included a North American leg with ALICE COOPER and EDGAR WINTER as well as another summer run with JUDAS PRIEST.

DEEP PURPLE's latest album, "InFinite", came out in April 2017 via earMUSIC.

The band — which had been eligible for induction into the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame for two decades — finally entered the Rock Hall as part of the class of 2016. DEEP PURPLE's first three lineups were inducted, including drummer Ian Paice, guitarist Ritchie Blackmore, late keyboardist Jon Lord, and various singers and bassists — Rod Evans; Ian Gillan and Roger Glover; and David Coverdale and Glenn Hughes.

QUEEN - "We Will Rock You" Clip From Bohemian Rhapsody Film Streaming

QUEEN - "We Will Rock You" Clip From Bohemian Rhapsody Film Streaming

In theatres on November 2nd, Bohemian Rhapsody is a foot-stomping celebration of Queen, their music and their extraordinary lead singer Freddie Mercury. Watch this new clip from the film:

Variety is reporting that Fox’s upcoming Queen biopic, Bohemian Rhapsody, is heading for a North American opening weekend as high as $30 million on November 2nd - 4th, early tracking showed.

Mr. Robot star Rami Malek is in the lead role as Freddie Mercury, the frontman for Queen. New Regency and GK Films are the production companies. Dexter Fletcher came on board to direct in December after Fox fired Bryan Singer from the project. However, Singer has retained the directing credit.

In the video below, Rami Malek discusses becoming Freddie:

Twentieth Century Fox and Regency Enterprises recently announced that the World Premiere for feature film Bohemian Rhapsody will be held at The SSE Arena, Wembley in London on Tuesday, October 23rd.

Guests and fans will be welcomed to the iconic venue to celebrate the highly anticipated release of Bohemian Rhapsody, walking the red carpet alongside stars of the film Rami Malek, Lucy Boynton, Gwilym Lee, Ben Hardy, Joe Mazzello, Allen Leech, Aidan Gillen, Mike Myers and producers Graham King and Jim Beach. Joining the cast on the red carpet will be Queen legends Brian May and Roger Taylor. Twentieth Century Fox and Regency Enterprises are pleased to announce that the premiere will benefit the Mercury Phoenix Trust, the organisation founded in Freddie’s name which supports HIV/AIDS initiatives globally.

Chris Green, Managing Director Twentieth Century Fox UK, commented, "We’re delighted to be at The SSE Arena, Wembley giving Queen fans the chance to share in what is going to be a fantastic event. The venue is perfect for showcasing the show-stopping performances in the film."

Tickets can be purchased here.

A scene from the film, entitled "Can You Go A Bit Higher?", can be seen below:

For the first time ever audio tracks from Queen's legendary performance at Live Aid are being released as part of the soundtrack album to Bohemian Rhapsody, 20th Century Fox and Regency Enterprises’ forthcoming feature film celebrating the band, their music and their extraordinary lead singer Freddie Mercury. Recorded at the historic Wembley concert in July 1985, these Live Aid songs are among the rare gems and unheard versions from the band’s rich catalogue.

Alongside the show-stopping Live Aid performances of "Bohemian Rhapsody", "Radio Ga Ga", "Hammer To Fall" and "We Are The Champions", the album features other rare live tracks spanning Queen's entire career, new versions of old favourites, and a choice selection of the band's finest studio recordings. Among them are some of Queen's biggest hits, including eleven all-time anthems that reached Number One around the world.

The Bohemian Rhapsody soundtrack, featuring all-original Queen recordings and vocals, is released on CD and digital formats on October 19th. Pre-order here.

Queen's cinematic music has proved irresistible to filmmakers over the years, featuring in numerous big screen epics. Their 1986 album A Kind of Magic was based on six songs composed for the swashbuckling time-travel adventure Highlander including such band classics as "A Kind Of Magic" and "Who Wants To Live Forever". But Bohemian Rhapsody will be only the band's second ever full original soundtrack album release, following on from the classic Flash Gordon in 1980.

The 22 songs on the soundtrack were produced by Brian May and Roger Taylor, with engineering and co-production by long-time Queen studio collaborators Justin Shirley-Smith, Kris Fredriksson and Joshua J Macrae, and mastering by Adam Ayan and Bob Ludwig.

The key task for the team behind the Bohemian Rhapsody soundtrack was sourcing the most suitable versions of the band’s songs, especially live performances, to fit the screenplay's career-spanning narrative. Their brief was not merely to produce a greatest hits playlist package but a soundtrack album to stand on its own merits, underscoring key moments in the screenplay. May, Taylor, and their co-producers worked with the filmmakers to find the best versions of each track to heighten the dramatic power of each scene.

Ensuring that listeners are in no doubt they are listening to a soundtrack album, Brian came up with the inspired idea that Queen should record their own arrangement of the famous 20th Century Fox Fanfare. Featuring May's famous multi-layered guitars and Roger Taylor’s distinctive percussion, this revamped track provides a suitably flamboyant opening fanfare to both film and album.

Unlike Queen's soundtrack to Flash Gordon, no spoken dialogue from Bohemian Rhapsody is included on this new album. And while the film uses only parts from songs and performances, the soundtrack features the full-length versions of some of the band's best-loved studio and live recordings.

The five tracks from Queen's 21-minute performance at Live Aid on July 13th, 1985 have never been released in audio form before. They only ever featured on video as a special extra on the DVD/BluRay release of Queen Rock Montreal, which features the Montreal Forum shows of November 1981. The Live Aid audio is exclusive to this new soundtrack album.

Other tracks on the soundtrack have been sourced from different decades and even different continents. "Fat Bottomed Girls" comes from the Paris shows in 1979, part of the Jazz world tour and has never been released before. "Now I'm Here" was recorded at the band's 1975 Christmas Eve show at London's Hammersmith Odeon. And the history-making duet between Freddie and Brian on "Love of My Life" comes from the Rock in Rio festival of January 1985 when 300,000 Brazilians sang along. Previously this track was only available to fans on the video releases of this performance.

For the studio recordings on the album, Queen had the luxury of being able to work with the Bob Ludwig remastered tracks from 2011, widely considered the best and most definitive versions.

The three remaining tracks on the soundtrack will be fresh to Queen fans, old and new. "We Will Rock You" starts out as the studio version, then seamlessly blends into a live performance with audience participation. This has been created especially for the film. "Don't Stop Me Now" features Brian's newly recorded guitar parts and is much closer to how the band plays the track live today.

"Doing All Right" was originally recorded by Smile, the predecessor band to Queen that featured Brian and Roger with vocalist Tim Staffell. When Tim later left, Roger and Brian would join forces with Freddie to form Queen. Freddie’s interpretation of the song featured on the first Queen album. To recreate the original Smile version, Brian and Roger reunited with Staffell at Abbey Road Studios to re-record "Doing All Right" for the Bohemian Rhapsody soundtrack. This session which featured Roger, Tim and Brian all singing lead vocals took place almost 50 years after the original Smile recording.

With record sales estimated at 300 million and counting, Queen remains evergreen rock favourites whose glorious catalogue of songs continues to thrill fans of all ages across the globe. Despite the loss of Freddie in 1991, their following has continued to grow over the decades, boosted by a new wave of fans who first discovered the band's music through their hugely successful stage show We Will Rock You or via hit TV shows like Glee, American Idol and The X-Factor.

The Bohemian Rhapsody film and its original soundtrack album are certain to introduce Queen to a new generation of listeners and remind existing fans just how magnificent the band was in its prime. Queen remain spectacular performers today, both live and in the studio, their songs having comfortably stood the test of time. After almost 50 years together, Queen continues to be one of the most exciting and beloved bands in rock history.

CRIPPLE BASTARDS Release "Passi Nel Vuoto" Music Video

CRIPPLE BASTARDS Release "Passi Nel Vuoto" Music Video

Italian grindcore legends Cripple Bastards celebrate 30 years of misanthropic extremity with their seventh full-length album, La Fine Cresce da Dentro (meaning: “The End Is Growing From Within”). The album is due out November 9th on CD/LP/Digital. Physical pre-orders are available via Relapse.com here and digital downloads / streaming services here.

The band have released a video for the new single, "Passi Nel Vuoto". Vocalist Giulio The Bastard says, "The song 'Passi Nel Vuoto' (translated to 'Steps Into The Void') is a parallel between the annihilation of the individual lost in the most obtuse massification, induced to waste and sedated in his emotions, and the value of life increasingly low - reduced to being a cog in the consumer machine. The graphics of our new album La Fine Cresce Da Dentro are all unreleased pictures taken from the vaults of a crime magazine that existed from the 1950s through the '90s, accessed from the archives of the criminal police based in Milano, Italy. In making this video we have chosen to alternate similar photos with scenarios of mass stratification and blind conformism. As the lyrics say, 'What's left is desolation / but it doesn't make sense to realize it / it's the weight of survival: how much you spend / how much you can cost'."

Stream two more tracks, “Non Coinvolto” and “La Memoria Del Dolore”, below. Both are available on all streaming services here.

Recorded at the legendary Fredman Studios in Gothenburg, Sweden with producer Fredrik Nordström (At The Gates, Dark Tranquility), La Fine Cresce da Dentro is eighteen tracks of inconceivable speed and brutality surpassing even their previous work. Over three decades in, Cripple Bastards are showing no signs of slowing down and continue to destroy unsuspecting eardrums with hate-filled, grind punk chaos.

La Fine Cresce Da Dentro tracklisting:

"Suicidio Assistito"
"Non Coinvolto"
"La Memoria Del Dolore"
"Passi Nel Vuoto"
"Ombra Nell’ombra"
"Due Metà In Un Errore"

"Narcolessia Emotiva"
"Nervi In Guerra"
"Sguardo Neutro"
"Interrato Vivo"

ARTILLERY Streaming New Song "Crossroads To Conspiracy"

ARTILLERY Streaming New Song "Crossroads To Conspiracy"

November 16th will see Artillery release their new album, The Face Of Fear - which is the successor to 2016′s Penalty By Perception. The Face Of Fear is the band’s 9th studio album, and the third with the current lineup. For a preview of the record, the song "Crossroads To Conspiracy" is available for streaming below.

The Face Of Fear can be pre-ordered in the following formats:

- ltd. Digipak-CD with 2 exclusive bonus tracks
- 180 g black vinyl
- opaque grey blue marbeld vinyl (ltd. 300 - EU-exclusive)
- golden yellow blue marbled vinyl (ltd. 200 - EU-exclusive)
- blue green / white splattered vinyl (ltd. 100 - EMP-exclusive)
- blue/black marbled vinyl (ltd. 300 - US-exclusive)

The lyrics are Artillery as you know them, with subjects concerning the destruction of mankind, double standards, abuse and the looming worst-case scenarios. The Face Of Fear was recorded with long-time producer Soren Andersen at Medley Studios. It’s Soren’s fifth time at the helm, and once again he manages to deliver a monster production.

Soren comments: “Pure and raw! Some of the material of this album was originally written in the early 80′s, and that inspired us to go old school this time. Not too many layers, just classic Artillery thrash metal…And Bastholm is better than ever on this one. This is a no-filler album, created together with the band. I’m really proud of the final result and I hope everyone will enjoy it as much as I do!”

Artillery comments about the video for “The Face Of Fear”: “Most of the scenes for the video were shot at Amager strand park right outside of Copenhagen. And the live scenes go back to when the band visited Japan and played at the Thrash Dominations together with Exodus, Voivod and Sanctuary. The video was shot by the band’s good friend Terkel Christensen, who also did the video ‘When The Magic is Gone’, from the last album, Penalty By Perception. The song is about dealing the end of man by himself. We create our own phobia about the destruction of the world, but remain disrespectful to the globe.”

The Face Of Fear tracklisting:

"The Face Of Fear"
"Crossroads To Conspiracy"
"New Rage"
"Sworn Utopia"
"Through The Ages Of Atrocity"
"Thirst For The Worst"
"Pain"
"Under Water" (instumental)
"Preaching To The Converted"
"Mind Of No Return" (ltd. 1st ed. bonus track / re-recorded song from Artillery‘s first demo from 1982)
"Doctor Evil" (ltd. 1st ed. bonus track / 2018 version)

"Crossroads To Conspiracy":

GENE SIMMONS Says He Still Hates Performing KISS's 'I Was Made For Lovin' You'

GENE SIMMONS Says He Still Hates Performing KISS's 'I Was Made For Lovin' You'

Gene Simmons says that he hates performing KISS's classic song "I Was Made For Lovin' You" because he is forced to sing like his grandmother.

Although "I Was Made For Lovin' You" was a huge chart success for KISS nearly 40 years ago, it was maligned by many of the band's fans who didn't appreciate the track's disco beat.

Asked in a new interview with OK! magazine to name a song that he wasn't initially crazy about that ended up becoming a hit, Gene said (see video below): "Well, Paul Stanley comes in and he says, 'Did you write any songs?' I go, 'Oh, yeah. I've got one called 'Almost Human'.' 'Yeah? How does it go?' 'I'm almost human. I can't help feelin' strange.' 'Yeah, that's cool. That's a Gene song.' 'How about you, Paul?' He goes, 'I've got one. [It goes] 'Tonight.'' "Ooooh. That's cool. What's the next line?' 'I'm gonna give it all to you.' 'Oh, yeah. I know what 'it' means — I know exactly what you mean.' 'In the darkness.' [Claps] 'Love that!' 'There something I wanna do.' 'Yeah, I know what that 'something' is. Wow! That's a cool song. Okay, what's my part?' [Sings] 'Do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do.' 'You're killing me. Really? I'm gonna sing like my grandmother?' [Sings] 'Do, do, do…' I hate playing that song to [this] day. Stadiums full of people jump up and down like biblical locusts — they go nuts — with tattoos and grills on… 'Ahhhh!' They're all jumping up and down, and I'm going, 'Do, do, do, do, do, do… Kill me now.' Still — still to this day I hate that song."

After the female interviewer pressed him on whether the song ever grew on him after performing it for the last four decades, Gene said: "Well, how about you sing that song? You're a girl. I wanna sing guy stuff."

b>Stanley admitted last year that the success of "I Was Made For Lovin' You" was "a double-edged sword, because it became such a massive hit but it was also so contrary and contradictory to what we had done before." He added: "The funniest thing is when we do festivals sometimes in Europe where it's very much… the bands are quite heavy, well, when we do an encore of 'I Was Made For Lovin' You', you suddenly have all these people with spikes in their eyeballs or bones through their noses singing along. So it's a song that seems to transcend everything — although it went through a period, certainly, of a big backlash against it.

"I Was Made for Lovin' You" originally appeared on KISS's 1979 album "Dynasty". It was released as the A-side of their first single from the album. It was the band's second gold single, selling over 1 million copies. The single reached No. 11 on the U.S. Billboard singles chart. The song also became a Top 10 hit in Australia, reaching No. 6 on the ARIA charts in 1979. The song fared the best in Western Europe (Where it became a Top 20 hit in Sweden, a Top 10 hit in Norway, made it to the No. 2 position in France, Germany, Switzerland, and Austria, and in Holland it became a No. 1 smash).

MARIUS DANIELSEN'S LEGEND OF VALLEY DOOM Preparing Second Album – Past / Present Members Of JUDAS PRIEST, KISS, HELLOWEEN, IRON MAIDEN To Guest

MARIUS DANIELSEN'S LEGEND OF VALLEY DOOM Preparing Second Album – Past / Present Members Of JUDAS PRIEST, KISS, HELLOWEEN, IRON MAIDEN To Guest

The waiting time is finally over and thank Marius for that. On November 30th 2018, Crime Records will release the awaited Part 2 of Legend of Valley Doom by Marius Danielsen.

Part 1 was highly praised by the power metal fans around the globe. If you enjoyed Part 1, you’re definitely in for a positive surprise. Where Part 1 took 10 years in the making and consists of a variety of free-standing masterpieces, Part 2 took Marius only 3 years and will take you to the next level of this epic metal opera trilogy. Breathtaking songwriting performed by some of the best metal musicians of our time and guided by a fantastic storyline. It doesn’t get much better than this.

The story: “The next chapter in the Legend of Valley Doom will continue where Part 1 left us. The Dark Lord defeated Valley Doom, and King Thorgan fell in battle. The Valley Doomians are forced to flee to their allies in the west - The Kingdom of Eunomia. It is
up to the Warrior King to lead the people of Valley Doom to safety. Together with King Eunotrian and Arigo the Wise they need to find a way to defeat the Dark Lord. What went wrong with the prophecy? The answers lie in the Crystal Mountains.”

Exclusive: EMPTY TRAIL Premiere “My World” Lyric Video

Exclusive: EMPTY TRAIL Premiere “My World” Lyric Video

The Austin, Texas-based trio, Empty Trail - Rick Lambert (vocals/guitar), Shane Wallin (bass), and Rom Gov (drums) - has returned with a brand new single, “My World,” which perfectly showcases the band’s equally melodic and metallic sound. Produced by Rick Lambert and Kfir Gov, recorded and mixed by Kfir Gov at Evil Snail Studios in Austin, and mastered by Maor Appelbaum at Mao Appelbaum Mastering Studios in Los Angeles, CA, the song is already creating a buzz, and has made an admirer out of Ill Niño’s Cristian Machado.

“I remember when I told my producer, Kfir Gov, I wanted to record a single with him,” recalls Rick.  “He  wanted  me  to  start  writing  and  we  would  decide  together  what song  we  felt  was  the  strongest.  ‘My World’ just clicked.  It essentially just came out and I knew it was a good song.  Kfir agreed and we produced it together.  Kfir pushed me out of a lot of comfort zones, but I’m really happy with what we accomplished, especially since this song has stirred up a lot of positive attention.  I would say that everyone in this band is a pretty stellar musician, so the recording process was pretty quick.”

And it turns out the song contains a deep meaning, lyrically. “We ALL have a ‘world’ of our own that very few people know about- for some of us, no one.  It’s about having to put on a fake face and get through the day, when inside you are fighting a battle no one knows. An urge to be honest with the world.  I can’t be the only one who’s feeling this way?  No one says anything; we just ignore it.  I think that’s where true connection lies as we are much more a like then we are different.  Although everyone wants to point out our differences.”

The singer/guitarist also has a handle on his band’s sound, and what makes them unique. “I think Empty Trail’s sound takes bits and pieces of the most iconic hard rock/metal bands while maintaining authenticity. I’ve always wanted things to be relatable and believable. I don’t really want to be limited to a box. I’m sure every artist says this, but it’s  true! I think it fits the mold of catchy and even pop-y at times, which seems to be what’s going around, but it comes from a real place. I’m in music because this keeps  me going. I have something I need to say, something that I need to let out, because if I bottle it up it is destructive. Yes, it’s rock, and it’s exciting and I want everyone to have a great time, but if you are listening, I hope it makes you feel understood. Somewhere where you can be free and not judged for who you are.”

As is the case with many modern day rock bands, Empty Trail plans on issuing a steady stream of singles - rather than an album’s worth of tunes. “I’d like to just focus on singles. As much as a full-length would be cool, I don’t see how it makes sense for how the market is. I’d rather spend time on specific songs then an album that only a few people will have the patience to listen through. Sad but true.” Hopefully, the buzz surrounding Empty Trail will soon lead to a full-on tour. “I would love to tour when it makes sense to. I want to connect with people who get this in any fashion. Maybe this is my personality, but I want to go where we are wanted!”

And lastly, where can fans connect and correspond with the band?  “We are almost everywhere you would imagine.  The most activity tends to be on Instagram, until a new platform comes around and knocks that one out. Connect with us there!

CREATURES Premiere “Old Style F.A.” Video

CREATURES Premiere “Old Style F.A.” Video

Unleashing their second EP II unto the world through their own independent label Old Haunt Records this past July, Creatures are kicking it "Old Style F.A." with their new video. The video was filmed during the band's hometown show in Toronto at the Bovine while they were on their Ontario tour this past summer.

The band explains the track:

"This song is a light-hearted story about a typical Friday night going out with your friends. Starting from the pre-drink at your house to hitting up the bar and ending up in a fight to back your friend up."

Spawned in the Toronto murk in 2015, Creatures is a group effort with a long history that intertwines the lives of numerous local bands to summon a truly devastating soundscape of unbridled chaos. Inspired by bands such as Necrophagist, Despised Icon and Thy Art Is Murder, Creatures is a band playing heavy and catchy deathcore, taking intense sounds and mixing in small elements of extreme and black metal.

Their latest effort II reaches into a large porcelain cup of topics. Instead of just merely presenting their themes to their listeners Creatures smashes the grail in their faces making sure their themes cut deep and stay with them. Whether they are lyrics about the futility of existence with a cartoon metaphor, or the bond of brotherhood within an intense party setting, there is a message for everyone to latch onto. Regardless, the songs are a visceral insight into the band’s life.

BraveWords Exclusive: UNTIMELY DEMISE Premieres New "Incoming Pestilence" Single Featuring Former DEATH Guitarist BOBBY KOELBLE ; New Album Available For Pre-Order

BraveWords Exclusive: UNTIMELY DEMISE Premieres New "Incoming Pestilence" Single Featuring Former DEATH Guitarist BOBBY KOELBLE ; New Album Available For Pre-Order

Canadian bashers Untimely Demise are extremely proud to premiere "Incoming Pestilence", the second single from our fourth full-length album, No Promise Of Tomorrow. Check it out below.

"With our first single ('Lethal Enforcers') we went for a more traditional thrash sound with some Iron Maiden and Judas Priest vibes. For this track we employed a brutal, Florida death metal atmosphere, particularly the Chuck Schuldiner Death sound. This is evident in the use of fifth harmonies, blatant transitions into triple meter grooves. It’s also one of the only cuts on the album that has some held out chords to compliment the solo passages. We are honoured and grateful to have the legendary Bobby Koelble from Death playing a guest solo on this track. When we opened for the Western DTA 2014 tour we met Bobby and are stoked that he shreds on this tune.

As we have with our past releases, frontman Matt Cuthbertson composed all of the music and performs all leads, solos and rhythm guitars on the album, as well as handling the vocal duties. Bass guitar and lyrics (except the track ‘Idle Hands’) were played and penned by Murray Cuthbertson. We procured the percussive talents of Winnipeg drum maniac, James Burton (Endless Chaos) for the album and couldn’t be more pleased with the results."

Pre-order No Promise Of Tomorrow here or below. It will be released on October 31st.

No Promise Of Tomorrow by Untimely Demise

The band’s current live lineup features:

Matt Cuthbertson (lead guitar, vocals)
Murray Cuthbertson (bass)
James Burton (drums)
Adam Sweeney (rhythm guitar/ backing vocals)

Being so stoked with how the last album Black Widow (2016) was received, Untimely Demise had producer/engineer Justin Bender (Into Eternity/ Third Ion/ Digital Doomzday) return to undertake production of the new album, at Divergent Sounds studio in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan. Drum tracking and guitar reamping was done by Ryan Forsyth at Grimfrykt Studios in Winnipeg, Manitoba. Thrash/Horror icon, Ed Repka (Rust In Peace/ Leprosy, etc) visually brings the record to life with a stunning cover illustration. On top of the plethora of Matt’s solos, this album also features guest solos by Bobby Koelble (Death), Tim Roth (Into Eternity) and Justin Bender.

TROLLWAR Streaming “Summoning” Single

TROLLWAR Streaming “Summoning” Single

Quebec’s Trollwar prepare to march on the warpath once again with their new album Oath Of The Storm, introduced with their first single "Summoning". The track takes the listener through a harrowing tale calling forth a devastating force from the depths.

Oath Of The Storm maintains the folk metal roots that the band has garnered acclaim for, but the party has been ever evolving and ensures a more symphonic experience than from albums past.

The band comments:

“The new release will be way darker and deeper than Earthdawn Groves, but Trollwar is always following the same path. Starting from a blend of blackened folk metal, we worked really hard to develop the melodic and dynamic aspects that forge our sound. Prepare for something really epic. Adding an orchestral aspect to both the album production and live act will be a great phase for us.”

Produced by Christian Donaldson (Cryptopsy, The Agonist, Beyond Creation) from The Grid, the production has been raised to a new level and "Oath of The Storm" contains four remastered songs with refined orchestration from their 2017 EP The Traveler’s Path as well as eight brand new adventurous and epic tracks perfect for the soundtrack of your upcoming raids.

Taking notes from bands such as Wintersun, Ensiferum and Finntroll, Trollwar is sure to be appreciated by fans in a multitude of realms including melodic death, folk, black and power metal.

Oath Of The Storm will be available to add to your inventory on November 16th.

PHLEBOTOMIZED – Deformation Of Humanity Album Details Revealed

PHLEBOTOMIZED – Deformation Of Humanity Album Details Revealed

Dutch innovative death metal masters Phlebotomized return to form with their upcoming album Deformation Of Humanity, a logical follow up to their Immense Intense Suspense album. The album is set for a January 2019 release via Hammerheart Records. The fantastic artwork is done by Elena Sai.

The album took what Demilich wrote on Nespithe and build on it. The band took what Nocturnus did on The Key and added their own little twist. It has got the twisting and amorphous song structures of early At The Gates, and then some. It had a melancholic feeling only achieved better by the mighty old My Dying Bride.

From those days, to the present: Deformation Of Humanity was written and recorded during a long process from 2015 until 2018 and sees the band return to their roots, back to where they left us in 1994. The majority of Deformation Of Humanity is still doomy and mid-paced, but also contains really fast parts. It actually creates a great atmosphere, thereby putting the keyboards to proper use. It sounds very inspiring and atmospheric, full of details, skilled musicianship and has a top-notch production which is very warm and rich. The first thing you notice - hovering above the pounding guitar riffs - are the keyboard passages that serve the rhythm section. Melancholic, yet brutal, the songs present a story. The music does not really have a true defined form. You will hear grunted vocals, as well as the occasional clean vocal passage. Acoustic guitars open songs, while the keyboards are ever-present. A gloomy atmosphere is placed, while the keyboard dances with violent death metal guitar riffs.

Tracklisting:

“Premonition (Impending Doom)”
“Chambre Ardente”
“Descent To Deviance”
“Eyes On The Prize”
“Desideratum”
“My Dear…”
“Proclamation Of A Terrified Breed”
“Until The End”
“Deformation Of Humanity”
“Until The End – Reprise”
“Ataraxia II” (CD only)

GODSMACK's 2018 European Tour Postponed As Guitarist TONY ROMBOLA Mourns Death Of Son

GODSMACK's 2018 European Tour Postponed As Guitarist TONY ROMBOLA Mourns Death Of Son

GODSMACK has been forced to postpone its previously announced European tour following the unexpected death of the son of guitarist Tony Rombola.

Vocalist/guitarist Sully Erna said in a statement: "With my deepest regrets, and on behalf of our guitarist Tony and his wife Sue, I am personally writing this message to all of our fans worldwide to inform you that Tony and his family have suffered a loss that no parent should ever have to endure.

"Tony and Sue's son Joe Fay passed away last week, unexpectedly, at the young age of 34. He was one of the kindest and most humble guys I had ever met. And most importantly, he was a FAN. Just like all of you. He literally lived the success of GODSMACK through his dad. He was always so excited and proud just to be around all of us, and we will all miss him deeply.

"As we await more information on how this happened, we humbly ask that you respect Tony and his family's privacy as they take time to process this and heal.

We appreciate all of your patience, prayers and support in this very trying time. And I promise you, we ARE coming back bigger and stronger in the beginning of 2019, and we WILL honor all of these tour dates in Europe and across this globe. So be ready!"

The month of European dates were set to kick off October 29 in Stockholm and follow the group's cross-country summer U.S. tour. The band's final show was Saturday, October 13 at the Aftershock festival in California. These dates will now take place in early 2019, details of which will be announced soon.

KATAKLYSM Releases '…And Then I Saw Blood' Music Video

KATAKLYSM Releases '…And Then I Saw Blood' Music Video

Montreal, Quebec, Canada-based melodic death metallers KATAKLYSM have released a new music video for the song "…And Then I Saw Blood". The band explored a new creative and artistic side when its hired acclaimed Romanian visionary artist Costin Chioreanu to tell the story of the song. The clip chronicles a post-apocalyptic world dominated by A.I. Two dying brothers are brought to a facility where their minds are uploaded into a digital virtual world dominated and controlled by oppressors of mankind. As hope appears to defy the system in place, the two brothers are forced to make a decision to either follow their human instinct or their new found conscious.

KATAKLYSM frontman Maurizio Iacono comments: "'…And Then I Saw Blood' can be interpreted in many different ways as it has an open concept to it. Everyone can see it the way they want but we wanted an animated video done with an artistic flair. Costin was the perfect artist to do it. I told him the central theme of the track deals with the betrayal of two close friends. I asked him to bring in his own world on how he envisioned the song and theme. Costin totally out did himself in this futuristic but realistic interpretation of where we are headed as people continue to get absorbed by technology and this urge to create something bigger, stronger, and more intelligent in this obsession to become godlike."

"…And Then I Saw Blood" is taken from KATAKLYSM's latest album, "Meditations", which was released on June 1 via Nuclear Blast. The 10-song disc was produced by the band's guitarist Jean-François Dagenais and drummer Oli Beaudoin, and was mixed by Jay Ruston (ANTHRAX, STONE SOUR). Mastering duties were handled by Paul Logus (PANTERA).

The "Meditations" cover artwork was created for Ocvlta Designs by Surtsey, who also crafted the artwork for KATAKLYSM's previous record, "Of Ghosts And Gods".

KINGDOM COME Guitarist: 'We've Become Better Players Over The Years'

KINGDOM COME Guitarist: 'We've Become Better Players Over The Years'

A revamped version of KINGDOM COME — comprised of guitarists Danny Stag and Rick Steier, bassist Johnny B. Frank, drummer James Kottak, along with singer Keith St. John (formerly of MONTROSE and LYNCH MOB) — is celebrating the 30th anniversary of the release of the band's self-titled debut album on a month-long U.S. tour which kicked off on September 27 at Club Sur Rocks in Seattle, Washington. Original singer Lenny Wolf declined to participate in the trek, which marks Kottak's first run of shows since embracing recovery after a longtime battle with alcoholism got him kicked out of the SCORPIONS.

Asked by Sally Steele of Vegas Rocks! magazine how the KINGDOM COME reunion came about, Kottak — who joined the SCORPIONS in 1996 and played with the band for 20 years — said (see video below): "We've been talking about it since 2008, actually. And then SCORPIONS were saying 'farewell,' and then we got together in 2013, but, unfortunately, we had to put it in the backburner, 'cause SCORPIONS said, 'No farewell. We're doing another album and tour.' But we finally got it together this year."

He continued: "As you know, or don't know, Lenny retired, so we wish him well, and he wishes us well, and we brought in our secret weapon, Keith St. John; he sang with MONTROSE and LYNCH MOB and everybody. And we're just ecstatic to be out here. It's taken so much effort. We've been working full time since January/February to get here."

Steier said that performing with his KINGDOM COME bandmates again is "like old friends that you don't talk to that often, but when you reconnect with them, it's like we picked up right where we left off. So it's awesome that way," he explained. "What I love is we've become better players over the years; a lot of these bands, they get worse. So we've become better players, and we got a little older, but we've still got the stage vibe going on, which… you can feel it when we're playing."

his past June, Wolf issued a statement via his official web site in which he said that "the KINGDOM COME ship has reached its final destination, at least during my visit on our planet earth." He added that his decision was "mainly caused by experiences I made throughout the last three years, during which the fun factor disappeared more and more, and our energy and hopes have repeatedly been crushed by people and circumstances beyond our control. Some folks out there may not believe it, but it's NOT all about money," he said. "I realized that chasing something which seems is not meant to be, trying to force things, would never lead to something good. Therefore it's time to let go."

After its early run of success in the '80s, KINGDOM COME released several albums, with Wolf remaining the only constant member of the band. The group's most recent effort was 2013's "Outlier".

ALL THAT REMAINS Guitarist OLI HERBERT Dies

ALL THAT REMAINS Guitarist OLI HERBERT Dies

Oli Herbert, guitarist of Massachusetts metallers ALL THAT REMAINS, has died. He was reportedly only 48 years old. The news of his passing was broken by the group in a social post earlier today.

Oli's bandmates wrote in a statement: "We were devastated to learn that Oli Herbert, our friend, guitar player, and founding member of ALL THAT REMAINS, has passed away.

"Oli was an incredibly talented guitarist and song writer who defined rock and metal from the Northeast. His impact on the genres and our lives will continue indefinitely.

"No further details are available at this time. The band and family request that you please respect their privacy and remember Oli by celebrating the great music he made."

Being a longtime teacher of over 20 years, Oli found a recipe to help budding guitarists achieve new levels of proficiency. In 2009, his metal guitar instructional program for Rockhouse earned him "instructional DVD of the year," and set the bar for all other metal guitar instruction.

Asked what originally got him into playing guitar and making music, Oli told Tone Freqs in a 2013 interview: "I got into metal around 1986, and started listening to MÖTLEY CRÜE, DOKKEN, OZZY OSBOURNE and stuff like that. Right before I started playing, I got into METALLICA and MEGADETH.

"When I was younger, I'd started playing piano, and I liked playing all the new age and pop stuff because keyboard is often the main instrument in those songs," he said. "But when I started listening to metal and rock, guitar was suddenly the main instrument I was listening to. So I think my ear has always been in tune with the lead instrumentalist."

ALL THAT REMAINS's ninth full-length album, "Victim Of The New Disease", is due on November 9 via Fearless.

ICED EARTH Drummer's ETERNAL ODYSSEY To Release 'Awakening' Debut In March

ETERNAL ODYSSEY, the new project featuring brothers Kent (vocals, guitars, bass) and Brent Smedley (drums; ICED EARTH), has signed to EMP Label Group, the U.S.-based label of MEGADETH bassist David Ellefson. The band's debut album, "Awakening", will be released on March 15, 2019 via Combat Records, the relaunched imprint now run and operated by EMP Label Group.

Says Kent: "When we started talking to the team over at EMP and Combat, we really felt the love. They wanted to work with us, and were really into what we were doing, which, to me, is the most important thing. We've spent so much time on this record, and these songs, and it was so important for us to align with people who would get behind it, and really get what we do. We're excited to partner with Combat and EMP, and finally start this new musical journey with Thom and David at the helm."

Adds Combat's Thom Hazaert: "When I first started talking to Brent and Kent, we were really excited, and the guys had put a lot of care and time into this project and these songs, and that really shows in the quality of the product. VOLBEAT Is 'Flirting With' Guest Musicians For Next Studio Album

VOLBEAT Is 'Flirting With' Guest Musicians For Next Studio Album

In an interview with Greece's "TV War", VOLBEAT frontman Michael Poulsen was asked if the band's new song "The Everlasting", which the band has been performing at some of its recent live shows, is indicative of the direction of the band's next studio album. He responded: "The last album [2016's 'Seal The Deal & Let's Boogie'] turned out to be more like a rock album. And you can have certain ideas when you sit down and write your songs, and going through the material that what kind of direction you're going, but at the end of the day, when I write, everything changes every day.

"When we go to the rehearsal room, you can have a certain feeling about, 'This is a keeper. This is a song that's gonna end up on the album,'" he continued. "And then five or six rehearsals later, it goes, 'Oh, that doesn't work.' So we skip a lot of material to get to the right songs, where we feel, 'This seems right.' Because, at the end of the day, it has to be fun to play in the rehearsal room, and it has to be fun playing it two hundred times. And it has to be fun to record it, and it has to be fun to go on the road and play it live.

"The new song, 'The Everlasting', definitely has a heavy touch, but it's impossible for me to say if that's the direction for the next album, because we have so much material right now that we have to go through.

"After this show [at the Rockwave festival in Athens], which will be our last show this year, we go home to Denmark and start to finish up all the writing for the coming album," Michael added. "And we will go into the studio in November.

Lemmy actually said it the best way. There was a guy interviewing Lemmy from MOTÖRHEAD. [The interviewer] said, 'So you released a new album. It pretty much sounds like all the other MOTÖRHEAD albums.' And he said, 'Well, thank you very much. Because the last time I checked, I was still in MOTÖRHEAD.'

"When you have that signature sound, it's so much in your DNA how to write songs and how you sound like. But we're still in the process where we can develop the VOLBEAT style and progress the VOLBEAT style."

Asked if VOLBEAT has plans to invite guest musicians to appear on its next album, Poulsen said: "When it comes to guests, it's always about when we write the songs that when you keep on playing them in the rehearsal room, sometimes you hear different singers or guitar players or musicians being on top of that. [You think] 'Wow, this could be amazing with Danko Jones,' or, 'This could be amazing with Mille from KREATOR,' or something like that, or Barney from NAPALM DEATH. So we've never really been writing stuff where we sit down and say, 'Who are we gonna bring to this album?' and then we write the song. We always write the material and then listen to the songs and see if it could fit other artists out there. But we do have plans for certain guests that we're flirting with a little bit right now. Some of them are already installed; others we just have to wait and see. I can't say anything, because it can change. So who knows?"

VOLBEAT bassist Kaspar Boye Larsen confirmed to France's Loud TV that the band's upcoming LP will once again be produced by the group's longtime collaborator Jacob Hansen.

"Seal The Deal & Let's Boogie" arrived in June 2016 and featured the chart-topping "Black Rose" and "The Devil's Bleeding Crown", in addition to the Top Five title track.

TARJA TURUNEN Says Her Next Solo Album Will Be 'Darker' And 'Heavier'

TARJA TURUNEN Says Her Next Solo Album Will Be 'Darker' And 'Heavier'

Former NIGHTWISH vocalist Tarja Turunen recently spoke with Bloodlines about her new live release, "Act II". The full conversation can be viewed below. A few excerpts follow (as transcribed by BLABBERMOUTH.NET).

On "Act II":

Tarja: "You might think that working on a production for a live album wouldn't take that much time for an artist, but for me, working on a live record is as important as my work for a studio record. It is important because it actually is showing... the place I am at the moment artistic-wise in the world of music, but also for my audiences that haven't been there — the one that hasn't been in my concert yet, or the one that has been in my concert yet, where I'm at. I had this opportunity to make this very intimate London show. It was [an] incredible experience. You never get to perform in that kind of thing, if it's not your brother's birthday party with the family. I don't do that kind of thing naturally, so it was a very special and very emotional experience to sing for the hardcore fans that were just right in front of me, breathing the same breaths I was taking [in] the same little tiny room. Then, to work on Woodstock for a half-million people in front of you... That 'Act II' live record includes eight hours and a half of material when it comes to music and material, so you just can imagine how much editing I had to do and go through the material. That took [the] longest time. I was working [on a] daily basis for over six months on this record at home. [I worked with a] great, talented team of people — I was never left alone — but the end word was mine. There are artists probably that don't really work on the productions like I do. I am there — in every process, I am present, because I want to be, I need to be. I breathe for that. It's my art. 'Act II', I wanted to make it in an arty way so that you can have that experience by being in your living room [and] experience the emotions that are involved in a live concert."

On touring America:

b>Tarja: "It has been difficult for me to come over as a solo artist carrying all the responsibility on my own. I'm carrying a big crew of people with me, and it's not easy to cross the continent in general. I've had the time of my life on this whole tour... I'm really grateful that all my fans, they've been very supporting and really loyal to me through all these years. I get that support and I appreciate that very much."

On what inspires her:

Tarja: "Everything that I have experienced in my journeys, in general, everything that I write in my music, they have something to do with my life. It's just natural that way. Maybe I would be able to write a song from a perspective that wouldn't touch me personally, but it wouldn't be real for me. I need to have that kind of soul-ness in it, when I'm writing songs... It's very important to carry all that experience inside of me, because they make me who I am today. I wouldn't be the same person without going along that long journey that I've done... My life is about organizing it properly. When I'm an artist that works at home, I'm also a mother of a 6-year-old. It's a 24-hour job. Where to separate the family life from the artistic life? They are very united in my life in general, because when I'm at home, I don't want to go anywhere. It's my haven — I work at home, I record at home, I prepare my songs at home. Everything is happening at home, so I'm very blessed to have a place where I can feel free to create my own art when I am there. I really do enjoy my freedom I'm having today."

On whether she's started working on a new album:

Tarja: "I can't tell you too much about it, but definitely, I've been writing songs. I've been writing plenty of songs, actually — I have more songs than needed for the album itself. I'm working on the lyrics at the moment. I feel that the album is pretty much darker than the previous one, even a bit heavier maybe. Nevertheless, never forgetting the symphonic side of mine, as my first love of music was classical music, so I will never get away from that."

On her experiences as a female vocalist in metal:

Tarja: "I've always been very respected as a female singer in metal, or in general as a female singer. I've always enjoyed the respect from my male colleagues or my audiences all over the world. I've never suffered by the fact of being a woman on the road. Maybe the first couple of years were tough for me trying just to keep yourself sane in all this madness going around, and again, [to] keep yourself healthy, which for my type of singer, is absolutely the most important thing, because my vocals are pure, they are clean. I need to really take good care of my instrument, which is my body, so that requires a lot of work. When you are touring, it's tough, but talking about the respect, I have never needed to show more than I have. Maybe because the voice I have is powerful enough in a way for people to embrace me. I don't know the reasons for that. Maybe the other reason might be that I have always been very true to the metal world, true to the classical world. I have never had them colliding in my life. People that have had the classical education or the teachers that I have been working with in my past, they've always been respecting me because I've been true to them. I've always been very clear what I'm doing, how I'm doing, working hard. That has required me to work very hard, but when you do your job good enough, there is no words needed — they can see the results. I'm super-proud that they're so many girls around. I've been honored to talk with many of these girls seeing me as their role model. It's incredible how much beauty exists in the world of music and how many artists you can really inspire with your own work... When I sit down to write a song, I do not think about any of that. I do the songs for myself. I write a song for myself because I need to come out with that particular song. It's for me, and then, after I've produced a record and put it out, if someone finds that song of mine important, it's just [an] unbelievable gift."

Tarja's most recent studio album, "The Shadow Self", was released in 2016. Her new LP is expected to be released next year.

"Act II" — filmed during Tarja's world tour "The Shadow Shows", during which the vocalist circled the world 7.5 times with over 300,000 km traveled and played over 200 shows in 40 countries in front of one million people — was released on July 27 on earMUSIC as 2CD digipak, 3LP gatefold (180g, black), DVD, Blu-ray, limited mediabook 2CD+2BD (including two full live shows filmed at Hellfest in France and Woodstock festival in Poland as bonus) and digital.

BRUCE KULICK 'Would Love To Be There' If KISS's Farewell Tour Included Special Show With Former Members

BRUCE KULICK 'Would Love To Be There' If KISS's Farewell Tour Included Special Show With Former Members

Former KISS and current GRAND FUNK RAILROAD guitarist Bruce Kulick recently spoke with Rock Titan. The full conversation can be viewed below. A few excerpts follow (as transcribed by BLABBERMOUTH.NET).

On his upcoming KISS-themed performances with bassist Todd Kerns and drummer Brent Fitz of Slash's backing band, THE CONSPIRATORS:

Bruce: "The songs that I'm going to be doing for those events, many have never been done before, so that's super-exciting, but it's also a lot of pressure. Do I need to go over 'Unholy'? Yes, but I [only need to] play it once or twice. It's in my DNA; I've performed it many times; I've done it at clinics for many, many years, so no big deal. But even a simple song — it's not super-simple, but 'Uh! All Night', for example, from 'Asylum', which we never did [live]. We did a great video with it, with the girls running around pushing, I don't know, cribs or something — I couldn't quite figure out that video — do I need to go over it repeatedly? Yeah, because I hadn't played it in over 30 years. I take performing very seriously, where I always want to be my best. The GRAND FUNK shows, we have that down so well that I can be a little more relaxed about hitting the stage... I want to do my best. You can imagine how I feel about performing material from my era never performed before, and to have to relive it, rehearse it. Some of that stuff is a lot more complicated than I ever imagined, and being 30 years on doesn't make it easier. That's why I have a lot of respect for [Paul] McCartney, Mick Jagger and all who have been doing their thing for all these years now and they still really excel at it. I have my heroes to look up to, but the pressure for me to be as great as I can be is part of my DNA I can't help."

On whether he plans to play other KISS-themed concerts in the future:

b>Bruce: "I can see this going on forever if I continue to do my gigs, GRAND FUNK schedule permitting. That band has been good to me, and I do love playing with them. I'm going for some stuff that I've never played, stuff that I personally like. One song that was never released, but all the KISS fans know it — something that was cut for 'Crazy Nights'... The hardest thing is me figuring out some of my solos. I realized that I'm going to have to maybe interpret a few, because I definitely had a certain approach then. The early '80s, everything was about flash and speed, yet later on, not that I wasn't flashy or interesting on 'Revenge', but it was a little different style, a little more aggressively played. It's been a real learning curve. It's exciting too, because I recognize how special those songs are, and I'm hoping if they come off even half as good as I think they can, the people are going to be blown away."

On the "Kiss Kruise":

Bruce: "I'm really proud of the band to open it up. I know years ago, I really hoped to be on the 'Kruise', and I remember Gene [Simmons] just kind of saying, 'Well, if you were going to be on the 'Kruise', then we'd have to ask maybe Ace [Frehley] or Peter [Criss].' Over time, I think they realized, that's what the KISS fans really wanted — they wanted more KISS content. Let's face it — you've got real KISS die-hards on the 'Kiss Kruise'. There's many that go every year. These people have a wonderful time; these people have a true passion for it. I think the cruise thing is a wonderful way for people to enjoy music... This year, now that they kind of broke the wall bringing me last time, now they were able to Ace to be on board. This one's going to be really special, obviously. At one point, they were cautious about that, and now it's completely the other way. What an exciting time for the KISS fans — decades of KISS, that's what's going to be represented on that boat. There's only so much that the current makeup band is going to do representing my era. I always joke around and say, 'I wave the flag for my era,' but there were many, many fans that got introduced to KISS from the non-makeup years. There's something about KISS that's unique and special and wonderful that really, really strikes a chord in people, that they hang in there, even when it's controversial. Even when they don't necessarily agree with something or like something, they still always hang in there."

On leaving KISS:

Bruce: "I always thought that there could be a reunion, and Ace and Peter would be in the band. Then how it evolved from there where they realized, 'Makeup is probably the best way for us to continue. We're way more unique this way,' and I wasn't upset, although I missed being in the band. I did feel very much that giving it to someone like Tommy Thayer, who's such a good guitarist [and] who knew that kind of world and could be Ace — the Spaceman, rather — absolutely was the right guy for the job, because they weren't going to continue and start to do 'Asylum' material or 'Revenge' material that way. Then, of course, going to Eric Singer, perfect height, great player, when Peter wasn't going to work out for them anymore, those were the perfect two guys to become the Cat and the Spaceman...nTo become the Spaceman wearing that outfit, that would be a disconnect for me."

On whether he'll ever write a book:

Bruce: "People always ask, 'Are you going to write a book?' I did start one years ago, and then I kind of backed away from it. Eventually. I think I've got great stories. I used to do a lot of stuff on my web site, where I would talk about each tour around an anniversary of something. I held back on 'Asylum' because I know a lot of people would like that story, and I kind of got stingy with it, because once it's on the Internet, then it's there. But I'd like to look at my book as being more like through the years of my entire career, but certainly when it comes to the KISS years, my experience of what it was to be creative in such a huge band. I'm not looking at a slam kind of thing. I learned so much from those years, and I don't have to go there."

On KISS's upcoming farewell tour:

Bruce: "I kind of knew that they were gearing up to that about a year ago. I still don't really know any particulars. I know they're going to put together a terrific show, [but] beyond that, I don't know. I know a lot of fans are talking about, 'Oh, they should have some former members appear.' I know Paul [Stanley] was asked that, [and] he handled it like he doesn't know if he wants to or will do that. Either way, I'm very supportive. I think it is important for them, if they realized they want to go out big, to get it out there. I think that they mean it, by the way, in the sense of a real 'touring' touring. I know with a band, it's very easy to do a one-off whatever afterwards, or suddenly, you might decide to do a residency, because that's not really going on tour. I don't know, and I can't fault them ever if you want to do something and you get the offer and you commit and the people support it and enjoy it... I wish them the best, and obviously, if there's ever an opportunity where they did want to pay a little tribute to any of the other eras, they know I'd be there. I'd love to be there for that. We'll see what happens."

Kulick joined KISS in 1984, soon after then-guitarist Mark St. John left the band after being diagnosed with Reiter's Syndrome, a form of inflammatory arthritis. He recorded five studio albums with the group — "Asylum", "Crazy Nights", "Hot In The Shade", "Revenge" and "Carnival Of Souls" — and can also be heard on the band's "Alive III" and "Kiss Unplugged" live sets. He joined GRAND FUNK RAILROAD in 2001 and continues to serve as the band's lead guitarist today.

Former 3 DOORS DOWN Bassist TODD HARRELL Sentenced To 10 Years In Prison On Gun Possession Charge

Former 3 DOORS DOWN Bassist TODD HARRELL Sentenced To 10 Years In Prison On Gun Possession Charge

According to WLOX, former 3 DOORS DOWN bassist Todd Harrell has been sentenced to 10 years in prison for possession of a firearm by a felon.

Harrell has been in jail since June, when deputies responded to an alarm that went off during an alleged domestic dispute at Harrell's home in St. Martin, Mississippi, a community in Jackson County. Deputies said they saw guns and drugs.

Judge Robert Krebs gave Harrell the maximum penalty for the crime at his sentencing Thursday in Jackson County Circuit Court.

He still faces a jail contraband charge after his wife allegedly mailed him the prescription drug Suboxone at the Jackson County jail in August.

ack in 2013, Harell was charged with vehicular homicide in Nashville for driving drunk and killing 47-year-old Paul Shoulders.

While awaiting trial on that charge, Harrell was arrested again on a DUI charge for driving under the influence of drugs — a charge which led to his firing from 3 DOORS DOWN.

Harrell pleaded guilty in 2015 and was sentenced to two years in prison. With credit for good behavior, he served roughly a year, according to media reports.

Harrell was an original member of 3 DOORS DOWN, which formed in 1996.

Another original 3 DOORS DOWN member, guitarist Matt Roberts, died of an overdose in 2016 after retiring from the group in 2012.

KINGDOM COME Drummer JAMES KOTTAK On Former Vocalist LENNY WOLF - "He Doesn't Want To Go Through All Of This Madness Again"

KINGDOM COME Drummer JAMES KOTTAK On Former Vocalist LENNY WOLF - "He Doesn't Want To Go Through All Of This Madness Again"

In a new interview with music writer Joel Gausten, drummer James Kottak (Kingdom Come/ex-Scorpions) discusses a variety of topics including staying active in the music industry after 30-plus years. An excerpt from the chat appears below:

Gausten: Lenny Wolf is not involved in this current incarnation (of Kingdom Come). I do know there have been some positive statements made on his behalf online wishing you guys well. For the benefit of those fans who have that initial question of where he is, where does Lenny stand with you guys? What’s the current relationship like?

Kottak: "We have an understanding, and everything’s cool. He got sick of it, and he’s kind of had some bad breaks in the business. It’s a sucky business; it’s terrible. We talked from last September through Christmas. In January, he called and said, ‘You know what? I just don’t want to do it.’ He announced a year ago that he was retiring and putting Kingdom Come away. I was going, ‘Come on, dude. Just one last hurrah, at least for a year.’ When Lenny says he’s made up his mind, that’s it; there’s no talking him out of it. We’re still friends; everything’s great. It’s just that he doesn’t want to go through all of this madness again."

Gausten: Where does Kingdom Come go from here? What are the band’s future plans beyond this tour?

Kottak: "We’re not getting too far ahead of ourselves. We’re using this as a launching pad; we’re going to get the vibe and see what our friends, family and fans and everybody out there says as feedback. But I know so far from doing interviews with guys like you that the reception has been wonderful. I have no idea; we’ll take it from there. If you plan too far ahead, you don’t live in the now and you end up screwing now up. Now is all we have today. There’s a million ideas floating between the band, journalists and fans online. We’ll get to that next and see what happens."

The complete interview is available at this location.

Kingdom Come was formed in 1987 and quickly signed to Polydor Records. The band released their first single "Get It On" which held a stranglehold on rock radio in early 1988, prompting their self-titled debut album to ship gold.

The quintet, comprised of guitarists Danny Stag and Rick Steier, bassist Johnny B. Frank, drummer James Kottak, and singer Lenny Wolf, took to the road immediately as part of the North American Monsters Of Rock tour alongside Van Halen, Scorpions, Metallica, and Dokken. In addition to touring and extensive radio airplay, they also became MTV favourites with such videos as "Get It On" and "What Love Can Be", helping the band to sell over two million debut albums worldwide.

2018 marks the 30th anniversary of the release of that classic album prompting drummer James Kottak to revive Kingdom Come. Along with original members Danny Stag, Rick Steier, Johnny B. Frank, a tour to commemorate the success of the band and album is born. Original singer Lenny Wolf declined to participate in the tour, but wishes the rest of the guys all the success and best in the world! Keith St. John (formerly of Montrose & Lynch Mob) will be stepping up to fill that large void, “but is definitely up to the job” according to the band members.

Guitarist Danny Stag says, “...we all love each other like brothers, get along, and laugh a lot. It's like a miracle that this is finally happening!" Bassist Johnny B. Frank adds, “It was 30 years ago The Wolf recruited us, The Rock produced us, MTV aired us and Van Halen made us Monsters Of Rock. Grateful to Rock another day!!!"

Kingdom Come will tour in 2018 - 2019 performing songs from their legendary debut album along with music from their second album In Your Face. More dates have been announced and the current itinerary can be found below.
