Former Unexpect bassist ChaotH (aka Frédérick Filiatrault) has launched a new band, Vvon Dogma I. Their new four song Communion EP can be pre-ordered via the widget below. A video for the title track is also available.

Inspired by artists as diverse as Radiohead, Meshuggah, Deftones, James Blake, Jean Baudin, Die Antwoord, Clint Mansell, Igorrr, Arvo Part and Hans Zimmer, Vvon Dogma I’s creative lynchpin Frederick Filiatrault aka ChaotH formerly of Unexpect explains his new band’s unusual name.

“Vvon Dogma I is an expression that I created that means to me the second incarnation of any entity, the evolution from one state of being to another one that is infinitely more powerful or conscious or evolved. Either it being through death when you leave your body to become pure soul, or a larger societal level where we are leaving the naivety and simplicity of the modern era and stepping into a more complex and conscious 21st century world. Vvon Dogma I is that moment when you step into your second incarnation and become infinitely more conscious.”

Fredrick was driven to form Vvon Dogma I when his previous band Unexpect parted ways. He had to find the right musicians and he had to create these songs in order to find inner peace.

“The songs were like living entities needing to be drawn into our world. The music is so original it is hard for me to categorise and it will definitely challenge music fans, but ultimately I think it will satisfy them beyond what any generic band copying what has gone before ever could.”

Frederick hopes the fans will get something truly special from the music that is a blend of everything he is musically and is definitely more accessible than what he has done in the past.

“I wanted to feature my freak instrument of a nine-string bass. It is often a Frankenstein of bits and pieces of writing. But I also want people to know it’s not about shredding or anything. I wanted to see how I could apply this weird playing style in a musically accessible venue. My art is song writing plus arranging and the 9 string is only one aspect of it. I find it definitely adds an interesting flavor. Hopefully people will see it for what it is as a whole.”

Vvon Dogma I’s debut EP Communion features four tracks experimenting with elements of prog, djent, funk, and electronic sampling to create a sound truly all their own. Their first single, the EP’s title track, is a trip for the true lovers of outside the box thinking, bashing the low ends with a pummeling and dominating 9 string bass accompanied by the ripping of an 8 string guitar along with some morbid electronic samples for good measure. “Communion” will definitely get the true avant-garde tech musicians anticipating more with the small taster.

Canadian metal legends ANVIL will release their new album, "Pounding The Pavement", on January 19, 2018 via SPV/Steamhammer as a digipak version (including one bonus track and poster), two-LP gatefold colored version, digital download and stream. The disc was produced at the Soundlodge studios in Rhauderfehn in the northwest of Germany, where ANVIL found not only the necessary peace and seclusion to concentrate on their recordings, but also met in studio owner Jörg Uken the ideal producer for their ambitioned work.

Why has "Pounding The Pavement" turned into such an awesome offering? Guitarist/vocalist Steve "Lips" Kudlow explains: "The songwriting process started immediately after the work on our previous album, 'Anvil Is Anvil', had been completed. So our thoughts instantly turned to the future again. After 'Anvil Is Anvil' had been cut, everybody knew what we had just delivered and what ANVIL's future should sound like."

Despite the diverse range of their ideas, Kudlow, drummer Robb Reiner and their bassist Chris Robertson have succeeded in filling the typical trademarks of this unusual band with life once again — which is an important aspect for every ANVIL release. After all, tradition and reliability play an essential role in this group. Kudlow says: "Of course we always allow inspirations from earlier recordings to seep in, but always with an emphasis on evolving the characteristic ANVIL sound.

"Lots of fans keep asking us to play the way we did in the so-called good old days. That's why I try from time to time to pick up on that exciting feel of our older material. Mind you, it's always exclusively about the basic atmosphere of that time, never about copying an older song."

The programmatic album title "Pounding The Pavement" is a synonym for the consistently serious challenge of ensuring ANVIL's financial survival. Kudlow says: "I feel nothing could describe the way we've been working for the past forty years better than 'Pounding The Pavement'. ANVIL have tried for four decades to earn enough money to survive and continue to make music."

OF MICE & MEN have released "Unbreakable", a short film that brings fans onstage and behind the scenes for a unique look at life on the road with a touring rock band. Directed by Johann Ramos, the documentary follows OF MICE & MEN (bassist/vocalist Aaron Pauley, drummer Valentino Arteaga and guitarists Phil Manansala and Alan Ashby) across multiple continents for a series of electrifying performances captured earlier this year.

Arteaga told Fuel The Scene about "Unbreakable": "That documents our summer playing festivals and going and playing small club shows overseas and just really reconnecting with our fans. For us, that's so important, and our love for our fans and just music — not even just fans. Those are people that support us and support our vision and our dreams, not to mention music lovers." The band, which is currently on the road with IN THIS MOMENT, is also putting the finishing touches on its new album, which was recorded with Grammy-nominated producer Howard Benson (ALL THAT REMAINS, MY CHEMICAL ROMANCE, IN FLAMES) in Los Angeles. Songs set to appear on the disc include "Warzone" and "How Will You Live". The disc will mark OF MICE & MEN's first full-length release without vocalist Austin Carlile, who left the group due to his ongoing battle with Marfan syndrome, a rare genetic disorder that afflicts the connective tissue holding the body's cells, organs and tissue together. Handling lead vocals in the band now is Pauley. "The whole energy of the record is very centered around our live shows," Pauley told Alternative Press. "Our past records were made after extended breaks, so it's hard to remember that live connection. But we've played so many shows over the summer that it bled into the music we made. We're all very well connected on this record." The album follows two new songs, "Unbreakable" and "Back To Me", which were released earlier this year and have racked up close to twenty million combined streams to date. The band maintained momentum by delivering a string of electrifying, show-stealing performances at some of the world's biggest rock festivals, including Las Rageous, Fort Rock, Welcome To Rockville, Carolina Rebellion, Northern Invasion, Rock On The Range, Download, In.Fest and Nova Rock, to name but a few. Carlile originally left OF MICE & MEN in 2010 after his doctor forbade him from touring to undergo heart surgery tied to complications with Marfan Syndrome. He returned in 2011, but his ailments didn't cease, forcing him to exit the band for the second, and presumably final, time at the end of last year.

"Wake Up Call", a new song from the Atlantic Records/604 Records group THEORY OF A DEADMAN, can be streamed below. "Nexus", the title track of the collaborative album from YES guitarist Steve Howe and his late son Virgil Howe — can be streamed below.

On September 11, 2017, Virgil — Steve's youngest son — passed away unexpectedly at the age of 41. As a result, YES announced the immediate cancellation of the remaining dates of its "Yestival" tour.

Steve and Virgil's collaborative album, "Nexus", was completed before the tour started and was due out this year. Steve has decided to continue with these plans.

"Virgil and I had only recently completed recording 'Nexus', which contains eleven of his tunes to which I added a guitar to suit each one," Steve said. "We delivered it to InsideOut Music in August for release on 17th November.

"We started to work together in 2016 by selecting about nine tunes from his 'stockpile' of piano-based music that he'd periodically sent Jan and I each time he'd written and recorded a new idea. I began adding guitars to them, then I'd play them to Virgil. He'd then surprise me by bringing up other channels of instrumentation which I'd never heard. The tunes went from straightforward 'duets' to something bigger and better, more of a complete picture than a mere shape. 'Free Fall' and 'Nick's Star' were added from earlier sessions, the latter being his tribute to the passing of his best friend Nick Hirsch. "'Nexus' explores a completely different side of Virgil's ability, as a writer and keyboard player — 'in his own right.' His talents were multi-diverse, so sitting at a keyboard and computer or in the middle of his drum kit, at all his regular DJ-ing gigs or on the radio, he always gave his best.

"We hope that the music just completed will stand as a fitting tribute to his life and legacy."

Thomas Waber, label manager/A&R international, and Stefan Franke, product manager at InsideOut Music, said in a statement: "The sudden passing of Virgil Howe deeply shocked the entire InsideOut Music team as it happened just a few hours after he had approved the first press release about 'Nexus'. "We left the decision over the release of 'Nexus' up to Steve and respect his wish to continue as originally discussed. From first hitting the keys of his father's Moog synthesizer at the age of four to playing in front of two hundred thousand people behind the drum kit for FUTURE SOUND OF LONDON's AMORPHOUS ANDROGYNOUS, Virgil leaves behind a prolific output that covered a wide range of genres from electronica to psychedelic sounds, from rock to synth and beyond. With his band LITTLE BARRIE he also was part of the score for the AMC TV series "Better Call Saul".

On "Nexus", Steve handled acoustic, electric and steel guitars whereas Virgil took care of bass, drums and all keys. The results are beautiful, diverse compositions varying between neoclassical elements, dreamy jazz, straightforward grooves and cinematic, spacey themes. "Nexus" is an instrumental album that impresses with its feeling and moods and unites two musician's individual biographies and styles as a fascinating whole.

"Nexus" will be released on November 17 as a special edition CD digipak (international version), jewelcase CD (USA, Canada, Mexico), black 180-gram LP plus CD and digital download. The artwork was created by Virgil's five-year old daughter Zuni.

The four members of the Polish death metal band DECAPITATED have issued a statement in response to their having been formally charged with rape in Spokane County, Washington. The four had already been charged with kidnapping in the first degree.

The group says: "We'd like to emphasize; the Spokane Police Department has pressed charges as procedural formality, without doing so, they would be forced to release band. This is not a conviction or any indication of guilt or innocence.

"Once again, we ask that everyone wait for each party's case to be presented and await the court's decision. With that said, whilst cases are being prepared on both sides, some facts are indisputable at this point — that the original officer who took the complaint from the accuser stated, 'I do not have probable cause that a rape occurred,' and it's taken a full thirty days to file charges, which is right up against the point at which the defendants would legally have had to be released.

"The band firmly refutes the allegations and are confident that once the facts and evidence have been seen and heard, they will be released and able to return home.

"Individuals who were present on the night in question with information about the case are asked to reach out to the defense lawyer, Steve Graham of Spokane, Washington."

According to The Spokesman-Review, the rape charges vary between the four, from second degree for 31-year-old singer Rafal Piotrowski and 35-year-old guitarist Waclaw Kieltyka, to third degree for 27-year-old drummer Michal Lysejko and 30-year-old bassist Hubert Wiecek.

The woman alleged she was gang-raped by the musicians in their tour bus bathroom after DECAPITATED's August 31 concert with THY ART IS MURDER at The Pin concert venue in downtown Spokane as part of the two bands' "Double Homicide" tour. The woman said entered the bus for drinks with the band before each member forced themselves on her.

Deputies later stated the victim had "significant bruising to her upper arms consistent with being restrained" and "small abrasions on her knuckles that were scabbed over."

All four members of DECAPITATED were arrested on September 9 in Santa Ana, California after performing at the Observatory. They were held in Los Angeles County Jail before being extradited to Spokane.

Graham told The Spokesman-Review that there is "another side to this."

"We have witnesses that can testify to the fact that the accuser came to visit the band of her own free will and left on good terms," he said. "The accuser has a documented history of providing false information to the police dating back to 2014."

DECAPITATED announced last month that it was canceling all previously announced tour dates. The band also publicly denied the accusations.

HELLYEAH will release a "deluxe" edution of its latest album, "Unden!able", on October 27 via Eleven Seven Music as a CD/DVD Best Buy exclusive and CD and live audio digital deluxe. The physical package contains the fan-shot live concert DVD, "We're All In This Together". The digital package contains the live audio from the DVD.

"Unden!able" features three Top 10 U.S. Active Rock singles, including "Human", "I Don't Care Anymore" and "Love Falls" — currently at its highest position at No. 7.

"Unden!able" was released on June 3, 2016 via Eleven Seven Music. The disc marked the first time HELLYEAH's current lineup — singer Chad Gray, guitarists Tom Maxwell and Christian Brady, drummer Vinnie Paul and bassist Kyle Sanders — recorded together as a unit.

Maxwell recently confirmed that HELLYEAH will once again work with producer Kevin Churko, who helmed "Unden!able" and 2014's "Blood For Blood" record. "Yes, I hope so, yes," the guitarist said. "I don't wanna work with anybody else. [He's] kind of like the sixth member.

"For me, producers… It's a loosely thrown around word," he continued. "In my opinion, most producers are just glorified engineers. They know how to do good sounds, but a good producer, to me, is a composer who can bring ideas, who can help you re-write your song five or six different ways. And that's a good thing to have. I welcome feedback, and I welcome other ideas. It just inspires me. You might not like it, you might like it; you've just gotta try it and see if it works.

"So, yeah, the next record, I'm sure we're gonna be back in the studio with Kevin and it's gonna be just like what we're doing now — moving forward, [recording the] same heavy [kind of stuff]. Up and down, and giving people a journey."

"New Wave" is POWERMAN 5000's eleventh official release since forming in 1992 and continues the strides and success, from their platinum-selling album "Tonight The Stars Revolt!" to their most recent chart-topping single in 2014, "How To Be A Human".

"Builders Of The Future" sold around 4,200 copies in the United States in its first week of release to debut at position No. 63 on The Billboard 200 chart. The official lyric video for "Evento", a new song from Portuguese metallers MOONSPELL, can be seen below. The track is taken from the band's upcoming album, "1755", which will be released on November 3 via Napalm Records. The Portuguese-language disc was written about the 1755 Lisbon earthquake, also known as the Great Lisbon earthquake, which occurred in the Kingdom of Portugal. In combination with subsequent fires and a tsunami, the earthquake almost totally destroyed Lisbon and adjoining areas.

MOONSPELL vocalist Fernando Ribeiro states: "Bury the dead. Take care of the living". Is one of the most famous quote of Marquis of Pombal (Sebastião José Carvalho e Melo), the minister of the King who together with the crowds of Lisbon and his engineers rebuilt a new Lisbon from the ashes and ruins of the old in just one year time.

"'Event' talks about fate, a dialogue built between the narration of the day and the state of mind of Lisbon's inhabitants and the all powerful choir telling me to be still and accept God's will. This conflict and the desacralisation of Lisbon is one of the most interesting aspects of this accursed day. A fight that allowed Portugal to step out finally from the Middle Ages and make the country’s entry into Enlightenment."

"1755" was produced by Tue Madsen (MESHUGGAH, THE HAUNTED, DARK TRANQUILITY, DIR EN GREY, DIE APOKALYPTISCHEN REITER) and features Paulo Bragança supplying the haunting voice of a Fado fallen angel who is a big part of the Portuguese culture. His fascinating vocals are included in the song "In Tremor Dei" (English-language translation: "Fear Of God").

Ribeiro said: "I have been fascinated with Portuguese history since I can remember.

"The year of 1755 marked the birth of a new Portugal. Much more than just the greatest natural disaster ever to occur on European soil, the great Lisbon Quake, shockwaves cannot be reduced to a dramatic death toll.

"From absolute tragedy, a new city was born, giving way to a new time where Portuguese relied more on themselves than on the crown or the cross, granting us much of the city, the lay country, the free will that we enjoy today.

"This is not just another album from us. It's a musical and lyrical history document, a homage we pay to our legacy and to the amazing skills and resilience of our fellow Portuguese back then, of all mankind when brought down to the knees by the violent forces of nature and reason. Whatever is, is right... yet the earth shakes."

In a 2016 interview with Spark TV, Ribeiro stated about the new MOONSPELL album concept: "I always was very fascinated about the apocalypse, the end of things, and we had this experience in the 18th Century, in 1755, and it really affected not only by the destruction and the death toll — it was very high, and it was probably one of the biggest earthquakes ever to occur on European soil — but it also influenced the way people looked at Gods, at religion, the way Europe changed. And it was tragic and traumatic, but the earthquake was the birth of a more modern Portugal, a Portugal that actually would enjoy a period of prosperity after, and the Portugal that was, before the earthquake, just going down and lost in vice and corruption and greed. So I think it makes for an interesting subject, and it makes it even more interesting if I do it in Portuguese, because it happened there."

"Letter To Myself", the new single from CYHRA, the band featuring former IN FLAMES members Peter Iwers (bass) and Jesper Strömblad (guitar) alongside ex-AMARANTHE singer Joacim "Jake E" Lundberg, LUCA TURILLI'S RHAPSODY drummer Alex Landenburg and former SHINING guitarist Euge Valovirta, can be streamed below. The song is taken from CYHRA's debut album, "Letters To Myself", which will be released on October 20 via Spinefarm Records. The disc was recorded at Top Floor Studios in Gothenburg, Sweden.

Joacim "Jake E" Lundberg commented: "It feels amazing to have 'Letter To Myself' as a single as this was the first song me and Jesper wrote together.

"I am very proud of how this song ended up and the lyrics are so straightforward that I bet that most people can relate to those.

"Most of us have been through problems of getting out of a bad relationship or battling with ones like gambling or addiction.

"I can't wait to have the whole album to be released and see people's reactions."

Speaking to AntiHero Magazine, Jake stated about CYHRA's formation: "I have been friends with Jesper for a long time, probably ten years. We met for the first time when I was working for IN FLAMES as a pyro technician back in the day. That was also when I got to know Peter. We had been friends since then. I was considering to make a solo album, and I would say that I have no idea what I'm going to do, but I'm probably going to write some songs as well. And he asked me, 'Would you do the vocals on my solo album?' And I said, 'Of course. Would you be interested in playing guitar on whatever I'm doing?' And he said yes. And then we started to talk about what our solo albums, projects, whatever it was meant to be would sound like and when we were discussing that we just realized that okay, we want the same. We want to make the same album. So that's where it all came to be and then we decided to start writing songs together. So, we were actually talking over a cup of coffee on a Friday and then on Monday we actually sat down in the studio and we started working on the first song. So that was really, really good. And then when we were doing the same thing there, we didn't know what to do. But after a couple of songs, everything started to come together. Then Jesper said, 'Okay what are we going to do?' And I said that I had the perfect drummer for this band, and that's Alex Landenburg. I said that you are going to love this guy. And a couple of months later we all met, and Jesper and Alex became best friends instantly. And then Jesper said that it would be cool if Peter would like to join. And so we asked him and he was still the bassist for IN FLAMES, and he said, 'Yeah, absolutely, I will gladly jump on board of this ship. But just to let you know, I am going to still be a member of IN FLAMES as well.' We were cool with that and then things happened like they did. Peter eventually decided to part ways with IN FLAMES."

Regarding the CYHRA sound, Jake said: "It is hard to describe what we sound like because we've been writing for almost a year. We've been influenced by so many different bands. We are, of course, influenced by ourselves. Because like, as the main songwriter in all our different projects before, you know, like, Jesper has his touch of things, I have the touch on my side, and also the other guys. Of course, you will find similarities in our former bands. But I won't say that we have reinvented the wheel in any way, but it's still something that sounds really, really fresh and new, even though music is music. You could always probably find similarities. But I would not say that it sounds like old AMARANTHE, or that it sounds like IN FLAMES. But you could completely, you know, recognize yourself within these boundaries."

Jake E announced his departure from AMARANTHE in February, explaining at the time that he began to feel that "my place both on the albums and live was reduced; I felt like I was superfluous… I started to feel more like a backing singer."

Iwers issued a statement in November saying that he was leaving IN FLAMES "to pursue other endeavors." He has since been replaced on the road by Bryce Paul, a member of the Southern California pop-rock outfit IVES.

Strömblad quit IN FLAMES in February 2010 in order to continue receiving treatment for his alcohol addiction. He later formed THE RESISTANCE with Marco Aro (vocals, THE HAUNTED) and Glenn Ljungström (guitar, ex-IN FLAMES), only to exit that band in March 2016.

CYHRA will make its live debut on October 27 at Nosturi in Helsinki, Finland.

According to The Spokesman-Review, all four members of the Polish death metal band DECAPITATED have been formally charged with rape in Spokane County, Washington. The four had already been charged with kidnapping in the first degree.

The rape charges vary between the four, from second degree for 31-year-old singer Rafal Piotrowski and 35-year-old guitarist Waclaw Kieltyka, to third degree for 27-year-old drummer Michal Lysejko and 30-year-old bassist Hubert Wiecek.

Kieltyka will appear in Superior Court Friday, according to his attorney.

The woman alleged she was gang-raped by the musicians in their tour bus bathroom after DECAPITATED's August 31 concert with THY ART IS MURDER at The Pin concert venue in downtown Spokane as part of the two bands' "Double Homicide" tour. The woman said entered the bus for drinks with the band before each member forced themselves on her.

Deputies later stated the victim had "significant bruising to her upper arms consistent with being restrained" and "small abrasions on her knuckles that were scabbed over."

All four members of DECAPITATED were arrested on September 9 in Santa Ana, California after performing at the Observatory. They were held in Los Angeles County Jail before being extradited to Spokane.

Graham told The Spokesman-Review that there is "another side to this."

"We have witnesses that can testify to the fact that the accuser came to visit the band of her own free will and left on good terms," he said. "The accuser has a documented history of providing false information to the police dating back to 2014."

DECAPITATED announced last month that it was canceling all previously announced tour dates. The band also publicly denied the accusations.

"While we are not perfect human beings, we are not kidnappers, rapists, or criminals. As such, we strongly deny the allegations that have recently been brought against us," they wrote. "We ask that everyone please reserve their judgment until a definitive outcome has been reached, as charges have yet to be pressed. Full testimony and evidence will be presented in due time, and we have faith in that process."

Delirium Tremens shines a spotlight on negative human behavior, again inspired by - but not entirely based on - our country's addiction epidemic. Loosely inspired by the unstable drug culture present in the band's stomping grounds of Fayetteville, North Carolina, Delirium Tremens traverses an atmosphere of instability and toxicity that audibly manifests as a gritty, unrelenting, pulverizing extreme metal storm. On Delirium Tremens, Narcotic Wasteland manages to create challenging music without losing a sense of meaning and vital emotional connection with the listener.

"The topic of drug use and death is still present, but we are also branching off a bit to talk about venomous human behavior, self-reflection, and big pharmaceutical companies ruining lives for big profits," continues Dallas."I'm very excited for our fans, and fans of metal to hear this album. Delirium Tremens was produced and mixed by Narcotic Wasteland at Vegas View Recording and Dallas' home studio. For recording and mixing, the band tapped Grammy award winning producer Neil Kernon at Auslander, with mastering by metal producer-elite Alan Douches at West West Side Music.

Dallas adds: "I have worked with Neil Kernon on many albums at this point. He has always inspired me and pushed me to be better than I thought I could be. He is a great producer and a great friend. He is brutally honest. That's one of the things I love about him the most."

I've been selling tickets to my shows and selling merchandise at shows using their app. They've been coming with me on some shows and brought along Travis Colbert to film content. While in New York, I was sitting around playing my acoustic where we were staying and Travis started filming me. He said, 'We could make a video'. Once I saw what he filmed, we immediately started filming the 'New Blood Keeps Us Alive' video since that's the only track that has acoustic guitar on it. Yoshiki, leader of the acclaimed Japanese rock group, X Japan, has donated $100,000.00 to help get immediate aid to hurricane victims in the United States and its territories. On Monday, October 9th, in New York, Yoshiki delivered the check to MusiCares, a charity of the Recording Academy via Jennifer Leff, LCSW Senior Director, Health & Human Services. The donation will be funded immediately to MusiCares's current hurricane relief efforts already on the ground through Yoshiki Foundation America 501(c)(3). 100% of all donations to MusiCares go directly to people in need.

"I'm from Japan but I live in America," Yoshiki said. "When Japan got hit by the Tsunami Earthquake in 2011, the people of America supported Japan. I was really moved by that, so I'd like to keep supporting America as much as I can. My heart goes out to all those who are affected."

The donation ceremony followed a Q&A with Yoshiki and a special screening of We Are X, the award-winning and captivating rock 'n' roll documentary about X Japan -one of the most successful rock bands in Japanese history - at the Bryant Park Hotel in New York City.

Not too long ago, when rock was about having a good time, letting your hair down and creating chaos and anarchy, four guys got together in Hollywood and formed a band. NYC guitarist Kristy Majors hooked up with west coast front man Steve Summers and laid the foundation for their dream band. They worked, wrote songs and played and played and played. The band chose the name Pretty Boy Floyd because it seemed to describe them - four tough teens armed with guitar licks and teenage angst who set out to conquer the world.

As the new millennium rolled in, new music fans began to wonder what they had missed back in the heyday of ‘80s and early ‘90s sleaze rock. A whole new breed of young fans who weren’t born when the band first emerged began to discover their music. The original fans from back in the day and the new fans found common ground - a love of Pretty Boy Floyd’s music, sleazy shows, and fun times. Never mind what the critics think, or what trends may have come and gone. Having outlasted many of the critics who cried “they’ll never make it,“ Pretty Boy Floyd continues to record and tour the world winning over news fans both young and old.

We Owe You Nothing, the ninth studio album from Italian black/doom metal overlords Forgotten Tomb, is set to be released on October 27th in Europe and November 10th in North America via Agonia Records. The new track, "Second Chances”, is available now in the form of 360° VR video:

We Owe You Nothing marks the highest point in the band's constant evolution and once more makes it hard to narrow down its sound to some pre-existing labels. Effortlessly blending the eerie, dissonant black metal sound the band is well-known for with muscular sludge/doom riffs and a subtle, nihilistic punk attitude, We Owe You Nothing defines the band's personality more than ever, reaffirming its unique sound.

Forgotten Tomb commented: "Our discography has always been divided by trilogies. We Owe You Nothing closes the third trilogy which started with ...And Don't Deliver Us From Evil followed by Hurt Yourself And The Ones You Love and it's the heaviest among the three albums, with an emphasis on slower/mid tempos and a sludgier approach while retaining also our trademark melodies and dissonant arpeggios, plus some twists which open new doors to the next era of the band. Due to circumstances surrounding it, it's been an extremely painful album to make and therefore it's one of our darkest, while being also filled with raw energy.”

The new album includes six songs for approx. 40 minutes of music. Recording-sessions started in December 2016, with drums being tracked at Big Pine Creekstudio in Italy, but were abruptly interrupted when singer/guitarist Ferdinando "HM"M. was involved in a life-threatening car accident that left him unable to play for months. The recording was resumed and completed in May 2017 at SPVN Studio in Italy, while mix and mastering were done in June 2017 at Planet-Z studio (Hadley, Massachussets, USA) by Chris "Zeuss" Harris (Rob Zombie, Six Feet Under, Crowbar, Hatebreed).

WHITESNAKE's self-titled album, also known in some countries as "1987", which was certified multi-platinum and featured the smash single "Here I Go Again", turns thirty this year and Rhino is celebrating with four new versions, including an expansive boxed set.

"Whitesnake: Super Deluxe Edition" will be available on October 27 (pushed back from the previously announced October 6) for $49.98. The 4-CD/DVD collection includes the original album with newly remastered sound, unreleased live and studio recordings, classic music videos, concert footage, a thirty-minute documentary, featuring a new interview with David Coverdale, WHITESNAKE's founder and lead singer. The music comes with a sixty-page hardbound book that's filled with rare and unseen photos from the era, an extended essay based on new interviews with Coverdale, plus a booklet of the album's lyrics, handwritten by Coverdale. The audio will also be available via digital download and streaming services.

Three other versions of "Whitesnake" will also be available the same day. A Deluxe Edition will be available in both 2-CD ($19.98) and 2-LP ($29.98) versions, each including the newly remastered album expanded with a selection of unreleased bonus recordings. This also marks the first release under a newly signed catalog deal with WHITESNAKE and Rhino Entertainment, the catalog division of Warner Music Group. This new deal includes both the North American and Japanese rights, marking the first time a substantial amount of the WHITESNAKE catalog will reside under Warner Music Group worldwide.

"It gives me great joy to finally have so much of my WHITESNAKE catalog all under the same roof with the Warner family and I'm thrilled to be now working with this tremendous team on a worldwide basis," says Coverdale. "Whitesnake: Super Deluxe Edition" comes with an entire disc of unreleased live performances featuring Adrian Vandenberg, Vivian Campbell and Tommy Aldridge, recorded during the band's 1987-88 tour. The music includes live versions of several tracks from "1987", plus WHITESNAKE classics "Slide It In", "Love Ain't No Stranger" and "Slow An' Easy".

An additional disc spotlights the creative process behind "Whitesnake" with a selection of elevent unreleased demo and rehearsal recordings, including early versions of nearly every song on the album called "87 Evolutions". The final disc introduces newly remixed versions the album's four singles, and includes rare radio mixes, as well as songs from "87 Versions", an EP released exclusively in Japan.

The DVD from "Whitesnake: Super Deluxe Edition" includes music videos for the four singles, all of which have been carefully restored and remixed in 5.1 Surround Sound for the first time ever. In addition, the DVD also features a new thirty-minute documentary about the making of "Whitesnake", a new promo video made especially for this set of the 1988 version of "Here I Go Again" and unreleased live footage from the 1987-88 tour.

According to Billboard, a WHITESNAKE home video will follow on Record Store Black Friday (November 24) as well as a coffee table book chronicling "The Purple Album" cycle from 2015. An all-new WHITESNAKE studio album is planned for 2018, along with a world tour.

"It was a lot of fun to do," Coverdale told Billboard of the "Whitesnake" reissue, "because I don't go back a lot. I kind of learn from the past to apply those lessons to the future and the present. But my gratitude for (the album) is beyond words. I've only ever gone into a studio to try to improve on the last record...There was no, 'Right, I'm gonna sell thirty-odd million fucking records!' It was amazing, just amazing, so it's great to revisit all of this."

Coverdale also revealed that he has been getting together with WHITESNAKE guitarists Reb Beach and Joel Hoekstra for regular writing sessions for a new album that will lively arrive late spring of 2018. "I'm actually very excited about it because it's the first opportunity both Reb and Joel and I have actually had to sit down and write together," Coverdale said of what will be WHITESNAKE's first set of original material since 2011's "Forevermore". "There's a lot of what one would refer to as arena rock; Reb and I were talking the other night over dinner and he said, 'Man, there's so many songs here that no matter where we play — Portugal or Brazil or Tokyo — they're gonna get this hook. They're gonna be punching the fuckin' air and have a great night.' And I went, 'Oh, absolutely — and more than usual,' which is great. I can't do throwaway shit. The only reason I'm doing this record are the songs are gonna be a great WHITESNAKE album for WHITESNAKE fans — and the band. It's very exciting."

Rare video footage has surfaced of Deep Purple performing “Strange Kind Of Woman” in Tokyo, Japan on August 17th, 1972. The footage was captured on 8mm film.

To celebrate BBC Radio 2’s 50th birthday, the network has announced the lineup for this year’s In Concert series which celebrates pop music from the last five decades, reports Radio Today. Five special concerts will see performances from Tears For Fears (October 26th), CHIC feat. Nile Rogers (October 30th), Liam Gallagher (November 2nd), Paloma Faith (November 9th) and Deep Purple (November 16), with each concert marking a different decade of music in the fifty years of Radio 2.

Taking place at 8 PM in the BBC Radio Theatre, London, the series of intimate performances will be broadcast live on BBC Radio 2 as well as in vision via the BBC Red Button, to be produced by BBC Studios. All performances will be available on BBC iPlayer for thirty days after.

Ian Paice of Deep Purple says “Hello, Ian Paice here, Deep Purple are really looking forward to performing for the BBC Radio 2’s In Concert programme. It’s been many years since we did something like this.But through all those years one thing has never changed. Playing live is the only way to capture the spirit of rock’n’roll music, because even 60 years after it reared its wonderful rebellious head that’s what it still is! There is no safety net of the recording machine to “fix things later”, you get it right or get it wrong. For the musicians it’s, an adrenaline rush, concentration and invention but most of all fun. That’s why we started doing it when we were kids. We hope you have fun being on the receiving end.”

A limited number of pairs of tickets for this event are available. Tickets will be distributed via random draw with 70% of tickets going to Greater London postcodes and 30% going to the rest of the UK. You can register at any time until 9.30 PM on Thursday, October 12th.

Applicants must be 18 or over. Photo ID will be required. Please take a look at the FAQ to see what type of photo ID is acceptable. Successful applicants must be available to get to the BBC Radio Theatre in London for no later than 7.30 PM. The show will finish at 9.30 PM.

Admission to this recording is on a first-come, first-served basis. Please note that as not everyone who asks for tickets uses them, to make sure they have a full house they send out more tickets than there are places. They do their best to get the numbers right, but unfortunately they occasionally have to disappoint people, so please arrive early.

Deep Purple have released their first-ever animated video. The official video for "The Surprising," one of the fan favorite tracks from the internationally successful album inFinite, takes the viewer on a journey through the magical 50-year history of the band. With high attention to detail, the animated masterpiece follows the five heroes of our story – Ian Gillan, Ian Paice, Roger Glover, Don Airey, and Steve Morse – through a stormy ship cruise full of allusions and sees them riding off into the sunset.

The video was directed and illustrated by Matt Rooke, alongside director Peter Rogers, who also produced the video together with Craig Hooper and Collin Games, known from the Deep Purple movie documentary From Here to inFinite.

Deep Purple and earMUSIC also announce the release of the 97-minute documentary From Here to inFinite, which is due out in November. It shows the history and origin of inFinite and provides a deep insight into the workings of the band for the first time on Blu-ray.

The Blu-ray further includes two hours of bonus material, including music videos such as "The Surprising," three previously unreleased live videos ("Time For Bedlam," "Birds Of Prey," and "Smoke On The Water"), all filmed and recorded at Hellfest 2017, as well as in-depth behind the scenes footage, movie documentary outtakes, interviews, and an audio commentary by Deep Purple themselves — all previously unreleased.
 
In conjunction with the release of the Blu-ray, Deep Purple and earMUSIC are also releasing The infinite Live Recorings, Pt. 1 on a special 3-disc vinyl LP, produced by Bob Ezrin. This was recorded at Hellfest 2017, the biggest metal festival in France and contains a brand new previously unreleased 80min live performance.
