In 2007, Destruction proved how successful re-recording some of their timeless classics and re-imagining history could be. The follow-up to 2007's Thrash Anthems is ready to rock the metal world and shows how fans can be part of both a band's history and future. For Thrash Anthems II, Destruction called upon on their loyal fans through PledgeMusic to help them create the record and contribute to the band's epic history.

Mastermind Schmier states: "As it is a part of our past to relaunch classic songs from our history with a fresh face and we had many demands on a Thrash Anthems continuation, we decided to do a second part of this re-animation of classic 80s Destruction material. For us it was important to chose the tracks with the fans and first when NB did not wanna do the album we decided to do a pledge campaign to raise the fonds for the production together with the diehards.

Two late ‘90s classic albums by Swedish premier metallers Evergrey are about to be reissued on December 1st in North America.

The Dark Discovery - the debut album - originally released in 1998 and Solitude, Dominance, Tragedy, which saw its first launch in 1999, already showcase the unique Evergrey sound which merges power-, progressive- and dark melodic metal to create the very own sound the band is known for. These two albums have not been available for a long time and steady fans requests were pushing for a re-release. In fact, now both The Dark Discovery and Solitude, Dominance, Tragedy will be available for the first time ever on vinyl and as digital download. A Digipak CD version is available too of course. The reissues come with an exclusive bonus track each and with new cover- and booklet layouts, created by Carlos Fides. Both albums have been remastered by Jacob Hansen (Volbeat, Amaranthe, Pretty Maids).

The poignant HBO documentary Eagles Of Death Metal: Nos Amis (Our Friends) will be released on Blu-ray and DVD by Shout! Factory on December 1st.
 
The devastating November 13th, 2015 terrorist attack in Paris claimed 130 lives around the city -- 89 of them at the Eagles of Death Metal’s Bataclan Theatre concert. Three months later, the band returned to perform for their devoted fans. 

 
Directed by Colin Hanks (All Things Must Pass) and produced by Live Nation Productions and Company Name, the documentary spotlights the American rock band as they recount their experiences before and after the tragic events. The film explores the deep bonds between band co-founders Jesse Hughes and Joshua Homme (also a member of Queens of the Stone Age), as well as the intense connection the band has always had with its devoted fans, which moved them to return to Paris to perform once again in February 2016.
 
Eagles of Death Metal: Nos Amis (Our Friends) includes accounts of fans who survived the Bataclan attack, extensive behind-the-scenes footage of the band, and interviews with Bono and The Edge of U2. The film serves as a portrait of resilience in the face of unspeakable horror and a life-affirming coda to the events of November 13, 2015.

CINDERELLA frontman Tom Keifer has released the official music video for the title track of his critically acclaimed solo debut album, "The Way Life Goes". The clip, which was directed by Vicente Cordero, can be seen below.

"The Way Life Goes - Deluxe Edition", an expanded compilation of "The Way Life Goes", chock full of bonus content and special artwork, is finally set for release October 20 via Cleopatra Records. The package will include the original album that has been remastered by Richard Dodd (KINGS OF LEON, JASON ALDEAN, LADY ANTEBELLUM). It also has two brand new studio tracks recorded in Nashville by three-time Grammy Award winner Vance Powell (Jack White, Chris Stapleton) with Keifer and his bandmates (Tony Higbee, Billy Mercer, Paul Simmons, Paul Taylor, Savannah Keifer and Kendra Chantelle). Fans will finally get to hear the long-awaited studio recording of THE BEATLES' "With A Little Help From My Friends", which Keifer performs at all of his concerts, plus a powerful new take on the CINDERELLA classic "Nobody's Fool", newly recorded as a duet with Lzzy Hale of HALESTORM. "The reason that I picked up guitar, the reason that I sing the way I do was all because of that guy," said Hale of Keifer's influence on her at a young age. "I remember the first time seeing Lzzy perform live at the House of Blues show in Atlantic City and being absolutely floored by the power of her voice and performance," Keifer says. As the revival of the classic '80s hard rock and heavy metal scene continues unabated here in the 21st century, one reunion has been at the top of the wishlists of many a fan for a long time: the songwriting combination of Tracii Guns and Philip Lewis under the L.A. GUNS banner. What once seemed like a distant memory with no hope of returning has now come around and fans are about to be rewarded for keeping their fingers crossed and their hopes up. The last time Lewis and Guns joined forces was back in 2000 with legendary producer Andy Johns for the making of what would become "Waking The Dead". Speaking with Express & Star, Tracii said: "With Phil and I in particular, we have a certain chemistry that's undeniable. And, you know, when you're at your loneliest, you wanna go home, right? So, we both felt like it was time to go home and be comfortable with that undeniable relationship that we have musically. I mean, right away, the first time we got back together and played, you know, it's so obvious, you can't deny it. At some point in your life, you can't deny what's real." Regarding the sound of the new L.A. GUNS material, Tracii said: "Phil's vocal style and his way of writing kind of offsets that balance of the heavy music, that's something that's possibly more mainstream or identifiable, so there's a lot of, you know, kind of typical sleazy L.A. GUNS, high-energy riff rock. There's a little bit of sloppy New Orleans, kind of sweaty, kind of bluesier stuff too. It's a big record." L.A. GUNS' present lineup is rounded out by Shane Fitzgibbon on drums and Johnny Martin on bass with Michael Grant on guitar as a touring member. On the topic of the decision to use the L.A. GUNS moniker for the new album, Guns told LA Weekly: "When you put Phil and I together, that's the sound of L.A. GUNS. There's no way around that. As much as I love certain other [former] members of the band, it's hard to say what their contribution to the overall sound of the band was — but Phil Lewis and Tracii Guns, the band's gotta be L.A. METALLICA has collaborated with Australian designer Justin O'Shea on a new line of merchandise.

The San Francisco Bay Area metal giants first worked with O'Shea while he was creative director at Brioni, where he recruited James Hetfield, Kirk Hammett, Lars Ulrich and Robert Trujillo for the label's fall/winter 2016 campaign.

O'Shea's latest partnership with METALLICA, under his new label, SSS World Corp, consists of a line of apparel and accessories — everything from sweatshirts to beanies — that launched last month at London department store Selfridges.

"It's about finding a new format of showing and about creating something that’s not supposed to be there," O'Shea told Business Of Fashion. "It looks more like real life instead of a fantasy world. You put the [models] in the middle of what’s already happening and then see how the world reacts to it instead of you creating a world that you know is controllable."

Selfridges' METALLICA capsule is set to launch in-store on October 20, two days before the band begins the U.K. leg of its "WorldWired" tour.

The collaboration is part of Selfridges' "Music Matters" campaign, which sees the department store open up a new space within their London, Manchester, and Birmingham locations and work alongside existing venues for a series of musical and design collaborations.

California rock and party legends STEEL PANTHER will release a limited-edition picture-disc vinyl as a Black Friday Record Store Day exclusive. STEEL PANTHER recently released the video for the song "Wasted Too Much Time". Drummer Stix Zadinia directed the latest clip, which visualizes the message of the song and the pitfalls of staying in a relationship that isn’t working. STONE SOUR make a cameo appearance in the NSFW video, performing at a house party and singer Corey Taylor does his best Michael Starr impersonation. The video has been viewed over a million times collectively since it was released last month. STEEL PANTHER has just wrapped a successful co-headline tour with STONE SOUR. The third annual "Bowl For Ronnie" celebrity bowling tournament, benefiting the Ronnie James Dio Stand Up And Shout Cancer Fund, took place on Friday, October 6 at Pinz bowling center in Studio City, California. This year's event brought in $49,000 for the Dio Cancer Fund, now in its eighth year of raising awareness and much-needed funding for cancer research. It was attended by a capacity crowd of over three hundred rockers, bowling enthusiasts, DIO fans and Dio Cancer Fund supporters, with tickets selling out the day before causing the building to be filled to capacity.

Also for the second year in a row, the Dean Schachtel Award — named for the late Dio Cancer Fund board member — for the highest overall bowling score went to Dio Cancer Fund supporter Scott Courtright.

Musician Rock Feinstein, who is Ronnie James Dio's cousin and has now played on the winning celebrity bowling team two years in a row, came in from his home in Cortland, New York to participate. He will head up the new East Coast chapter of the Ronnie James Dio Stand Up And Shout Cancer Fund and will be planning sister bowling and motorcycle events in 2018 to raise money for the charity. Jeff Scott Soto, who also played on the winning celebrity team for two years in a row, commented about the event: "It's an absolute honor and privilege to be invited three years in a row to honor the late great Ronnie James Dio, the incredible cause and do it surrounded by peers and fans alike! Always an incredible evening of laughs, love and bowling. I hope to be involved every year as I love and support this cause with every fiber of my being!!"

A check for $25,000 was presented to representatives of Dr. David Wong's research team from the Dental Research Institute at the University of California, Los Angeles where they are developing a non-invasive saliva test for early cancer detection. This brings the total presented to Dr. Wong's project by the Dio Cancer Fund to $100,000. Dio Cancer Fund medical director Dr. Sandeep Kapoor announced that the project will be publishing a new study in March which will contain an acknowledgement of the Dio Cancer Fund's support for its research. Dr. Wong believes this simple test will receive FDA approval and become available for medical use within the next two years.

"Bowl For Ronnie" attendees were treated to an evening of fun, food, raffle drawings, and, of course, the bowling competition for trophies in the name of raising funds and awareness for the Dio Cancer Fund. One hundred percent of the net proceeds from the "Bowl For Ronnie" will go to further the Dio Cancer Fund's mission of cancer prevention, research and education.

Singer David Glen Eisley and guitarist Craig Goldy (RESURRECTION KINGS, ex-DIO), both formerly of GIUFFRIA, have joined forces again in EISLEY/GOLDY, a partnership which sees the two artists bring back the signature sound that launched their careers in the early '80s.

As David Glen Eisley stated around October 2014, after several years on hiatus after his 2001 solo effort: "My dear friend of many years, guitar virtuoso Craig Goldy, made a surprise visit up to my house, knocked on the door and simply stated, 'Enough of this, my friend… Time for you to get up off your ass and come back to work!' He was so adamant, I relented and agreed to join him on a small stage in the San Diego area. It all seemed to go well and the next thing I knew a year later, we were in Nottingham, England playing together again in front of a crowd. We had been discussing writing some material for a potential album during this past year. But where to take it, assuming we were to actually do one? That left a big question, but a simple answer. Finnish cello rockers APOCALYPTICA have released a new video for their cover version of the METALLICA classic "Sad But True".

APOCALYPTICA's Eicca Toppinen said this past summer that fans will have to wait until at least the end of 2018 before they hear the follow-up to the band's 2015 album, "Shadowmaker". Toppinen said: "We [are now] focus[ing] on this, touring-wise, this ['Plays Metallica By Four Cellos'] concept," he said. "Originally, I thought, 'Hey, let's make the anniversary thing. Let's play a maximum of thirty shows.' Because, first of all, we didn't know how interesting the concept we [could] create, how it [was] gonna work out. But suddenly it turned out great — the concept is really good, and there seems to be a lot of demand; people want to see it — so we thought, 'Okay. If people want to see it, let's do it.' So now we are gonna play maybe one hundred and fifty shows of this concept."

Former MARILYN MANSON and current ROB ZOMBIE guitarist John 5 has released his cover version of the METALLICA classic "Enter Sandman". The song is now available for streaming on Spotify and in the YouTube clip below.

John 5's latest studio album, "Season Of The Witch", was released in March.

His solo band THE CREATURES includes Ian Ross on bass and Rodger Carter on drums.

John has had an illustrious career collaborating with chart-topping artists such as LYNYRD SKYNYRD, Ricky Martin and Rod Stewart. John has performed on critically acclaimed world tours with MARILYN MANSON and ROB ZOMBIE. Later, John ventured into the world of film score composing for Rob Zombie's "The Lords Of Salem". In 2004 he branched out into a successful solo career and has since released eight studio albums.

Asked how his love of non-metal music works its way into ROB ZOMBIE or MARILYN MANSON, John told "Whiplash", the KLOS radio show hosted by Full Metal Jackie: "I don't think it really works its way in. I try to keep that separate. I keep it separate from ROB ZOMBIE, I kept it separate from MARILYN MANSON, but I did it for myself and when I released my first instrumental record and did all this bluegrass [playing] on it, people had no idea I could play like that. I think that's what put my name on the map a little bit because it was so different. It was like if I started right now speaking fluent Japanese or something, you'd be, like, 'Oh wow, I didn't know you could speak this different language.' You'd be surprised and that's how people were. It really was a great thing and a whole new avenue I was going to go down and people were going to go down with me. It was wonderful."

EVANESCENCE performed at The Greek Theatre in Los Angeles on Sunday, October 15 in support of its fourth album, "Synthesis". Like the disc, "Synthesis Live" features a reimagining of some of EVANESCENCE's best-loved songs with the spotlight on full orchestra, electronics combined with the band and Amy Lee's virtuoso piano and voice.

"This is a total passion project for me. There are so many layers in our music, underneath the huge drums and guitars," explained Amy Lee. "I've always wanted to shine a light on some of the gorgeous David Campbell arrangements and programming elements in our songs, and that idea snowballed into completely re-doing them with full orchestra, not just strings, elaborate programming and experimentation.

"This will be our first time touring with orchestra and I'm so excited to perform this way-really focus on the vocals, and the emotion and the story we've built over the years. I'm also really excited about the new material on the album. Besides the two new songs, there are some really beautiful instrumental in-between moments. The whole thing flows like a big, dynamic soundtrack."

Lee told Graspop.be about "Synthesis": "It's different in a way that it's still coming from the roots of what EVANESCENCE was conceived to be. It's really a beautiful project. A lot of our old songs are getting a whole new life in a way where we're getting to experience the focus being this beautiful, full orchestra. It's also a lot of electronic, cool elements — parts that have always been part of our music. It hasn't been full orchestra before — it's just been mainly strings — but just taking it to very beautiful, classical and epic and groovy place. Oh, it feels so good."

Lee also talked in more detail about the making of "Synthesis", explaining: "As far as the conception, basically, you work in demo land first and just create the arrangements of songs. I went through all the master sessions of, say, 'Bring Me To Life', and [I would] pull out all the stuff and listen to it and then chop it up and decide, 'Oh, maybe this part needs to be longer. Maybe this part at the beginning will be just strings and piano.' Just figure out what you're gonna do and build a map. And working with David Campbell, who has done all the string arrangements for EVANESCENCE for all three albums now doing full orchestra, just going back and forth with him and our producer Will and then each other, just throwing ideas in a Dropbox and basically just playing tennis back and forth for months."

Finnish symphonic metallers AMBERIAN DAWN have released a music video for the song "I'm The One". The track is taken from the band's eighth album, "Darkness Of Eternity", which will be released on November 10 via Napalm Records.

AMBERIAN DAWN keyboardist and mastermind Tuomas Seppälä comments: "'I'm The One' was one of the latest compositions for new album. After writing a couple of softer songs in fall 2016, I got a new 'heavy wave' and probably three latest songs I wrote were quite heavy. The song is very hectic and pushes forward like a train. There's no solo part on this song (a solo would have been quite obvious call). Instead of that, I wrote an instrumental part and an extra vocal part. Last vocal part's melody and chord pattern supporting it consists of just one really long phrase... this kind of long phrasing was typical in many classical compositions. I still haven't got rid of my roots in classical music."

Singer Päivi "Capri" Virkkunen explains the story: "'I'm The One'. This is a story about very charismatic and socially intelligent people who speak with the finest words to make other people do what they want in their quest for their own pleasure. They do not care about the consequences or how to violate the feelings of others. They only think of themselves. Unfortunately, the pressure in the group is generally enormous and all its members are behind the strongest individual hoping to be 'the chosen one.'"

Seppälä says: "'Darkness Of Eternity' is one of the most emotional AMBERIAN DAWN albums so far. It's got some really bombastic songs in mood of dark and symphonic melodic metal and in contrast to that also some really poppy songs too.

"For me, it's really hard to stick in one genre only and I constantly want to compose different kinds of songs!"

Tuomas adds: "The song 'Symphony Nr.1, Part 1 - The Witchcraft' told the story on the last record, 'Innuendo', before the time of 'Magic Forest'. The little girl is a healer and village elders buried her alive in a coffin. The track 'Symphony Nr.1, Part 2 - Darkness Of Eternity' on our upcoming record 'Darkness Of Eternity' tells the story of the girl lying in the coffin trying to get out. Darkness is asking her to dance the waltz of eternity. The story will continue in Part 3 and we will tell you how she became the Magic Forest's evil witch!" Regarding the "Darkness Of Eternity" recording process, Tuomas says: "We did a lot of production at legendary Finnvox Studios in Helsinki, Finland: drum recordings, mixing by Mikko Karmila and mastering by Mika Jussila. We also used a live string section on orchestral parts and that added nice color on the sound.

"It's easy for me to say that this album is without any doubt the best sounding AMBERIAN DAWN album ever! It's a kind of monument for me and it introduces the many sides of me as composer.

"I still feel very lucky that I've got Capri [Päivi Virkkunen] on this band because she's probably the only singer capable singing all of those different styles with superior sound and feeling."

"Red Before Black", the title track of the new album from Florida-based death metallers CANNIBAL CORPSE, can be streamed below. Due on November 3 via Metal Blade Records, the follow-up to 2014's "A Skeletal Domain" was recorded at Mana Recording Studios in Saint Petersburg, Florida with producer/engineer Erik Rutan (SOILENT GREEN, BELPHEGOR, HATE ETERNAL), who previously worked with CANNIBAL CORPSE on 2006's "Kill", 2009's "Evisceration Plague" and 2012's "Torture".

Many words come to mind when you hear the name CANNIBAL CORPSE, but one truly defines the soon-to-be-thirty-year death metal veterans: unstoppable. Returning with their fourteenth full-length, the monstrous "Red Before Black", serves to not only reiterate this but to once more raise the stakes, making it very clear who sets the standard when it comes to always compelling music that is equally brutal and complex. Moreover, the band have pushed themselves again, ensuring that it stands out from their catalog.

"We always try to make our music aggressive, but where an album like 'A Skeletal Domain' [2014] was definitely aggressive, it has a targeted refinement that the new album doesn't. 'Red Before Black' is as well executed as anything we've done, but it has a rawness to it that we haven't had in a long time," asserts bassist Alex Webster. "We really worked super hard crafting these songs, practicing them, and getting them where we wanted to be more so than on any of our previous albums," adds drummer Paul Mazurkiewicz. "And, as Alex said, musically I think it's the most raw sound we've had — and at the same time I think it's our most focused, tightest and catchiest record."

With 2017 seeing a slew of stunning new releases from death metal's old guard — including SUFFOCATION, OBITUARY and DYING FETUS — it's been a landmark year both for the genre and its early innovators, and with "Red Before Black", CANNIBAL CORPSE stand strong alongside their peers. "We're proud to be part of a scene that has great, experienced bands that stick to their guns," affirms Webster. That CANNIBAL CORPSE have carved out a career spanning almost three decades is testament to their work ethic, innovative songwriting, passion and devotion to extreme music — though it still remains an astounding feat to the members, as Webster makes humbly clear.

"Who could have imagined this?" he says. "When we started, even BLACK SABBATH hadn't been around for three decades. There simply was no precedent for a lifelong career in metal, of any kind, let alone a relatively new form like death metal. We've been unbelievably lucky, and we are so grateful to our fans for making it possible." In typically grounded fashion, they continue to forge ahead, seeing no end in sight, Webster stating he likes to think they have yet to write their best record, while Mazurkiewicz outlines their goals: "I would say we just want to keep it going, try to better ourselves — and finally open for SLAYER!"

This November, CANNIBAL CORPSE will kick off a USA tour in support of the upcoming disc. Support on the trek will come from POWER TRIP and GATECREEPER.

According to The Pulse Of Radio, PROPHETS OF RAGE, the supergroup featuring members of RAGE AGAINST THE MACHINE, PUBLIC ENEMY and CYPRESS HILL, salute peaceful protest and slam gun culture in a new video for the song "Strength in Numbers". The clip touches on the ongoing debate over Colin Kaepernick and other NFL players taking a knee before games during the national anthem to protest police brutality, alternating that with clips of actors in black face and people at gun shows.

The video concludes with a shot of Mike Pence standing during the national anthem at an Indianapolis Colts game earlier this month — a game he then left in a staged photo op when players knelt during the song.

In a statement about the clip, PROPHETS OF RAGE MC Chuck D wrote: "ALMOST anything can be built or toppled with a collective force. A movement is never about an individual. On the opposition of Colin Kaepernick in today's sports world, we ask 'is it the KNEE or is it The NEGRO'?"

The Pulse Of Radio asked guitarist Tom Morello if PROPHETS experienced a lot of backlash to their political message. "Of course there is political backlash to what we're saying, and backlash to the music that we're playing," he said. "But if you have ideas that no one complains about and you're making music that no one complains about, then you probably have pretty shitty ideas and shitty music."

"Strength in Numbers" appears on PROPHETS OF RAGE's self-titled debut LP, which they issued last month.

The group, which plays songs from RAGE, PUBLIC ENEMY and CYPRESS in addition to original material, made its live debut in May 2016 in Los Angeles. They next play at the Voodoo Music Experience festival in New Orleans at the end of this month.

ARCH ENEMY's music video for the song "The Race" can be seen below. The track is taken from the band's new album, "Will To Power", which was released on September 8 via Century Media. Co-produced by guitarist Michael Amott and drummer Daniel Erlandsson, the disc was mixed and mastered by longtime collaborator and friend Jens Bogren (OPETH, AT THE GATES, DIMMU BORGIR). The album's cover artwork was designed by Alex Reisfar.

Amott commented: "This was actually the last song written for the 'Will To Power' album.

"Listening through all the material we had up to that point, we agreed that the album needed one more song that would be a relentless and fast-paced counterpoint to some of the more epic compositions we already had. We sent Alissa [White-Gluz] the music and she came up with a thought-provoking set of lyrics with an intense vocal arrangement that complemented the music perfectly.

"We've been having a blast playing this song on the current tour and we had our video director Patric Ullaeus come out to capture the mayhem at our recent show in Helsinki, Finland... Enjoy 'The Race'!"

"Will To Power" marks the second ARCH ENEMY album since the departure of longtime singer Angela Gossow and addition of White-Gluz. It will also be the first ARCH ENEMY disc to feature former NEVERMORE guitarist Jeff Loomis, who joined the band in late 2014.

A previously unreleased demo version of METALLICA's song "Master Of Puppets" can be streamed below. The track was recorded in the garage at The Carlson House in El Cerrito, California in late June 1985 and is taken from the upcoming reissue of METALLICA's seminal third album, "Master Of Puppets".

"Master Of Puppets" was released on February 24, 1986 and was the first album METALLICA recorded after signing a major label deal with Elektra Records.

The set only reached No. 29 on the Billboard album chart but has sold over six million copies in the U.S. since.

It is the last record to feature bassist Cliff Burton, who was killed later that year in a tour bus crash.

Several songs from the album are still staples of METALLICA's live set, including "Battery", "Welcome Home (Sanitarium)" and the title track.

Many fans consider it METALLICA's finest album, a fact that the band acknowledged by playing it in its entirety on a European tour in 2006.

"Metallica: Back To The Front", the definitive story of "Master Of Puppets" and the tour that followed its release, hit bookstores and online sellers last September. A very special Collector's Edition of the book was made available two weeks earlier through Metallica.com and MoonriseMedia.net.

Rock group BUSH and frontman Gavin Rossdale have entered into new worldwide partnerships with BMG. The agreements include a new publishing deal for Rossdale's extensive songwriting catalog and the band entering into a new recording deal to release a remastered version of latest album "Black And White Rainbows" with bonus tracks. The album was released digitally via Zuma Rock Records/BMG, with a CD to follow.

Written, recorded and produced by Rossdale, the seventeen-track expanded edition of "Black And White Rainbows" includes two new tracks, "This Is War" and "Alien Language". The band, rounded out by drummer Robin Goodridge, guitarist Chris Traynor and bassist Corey Britz, have been touring extensively in support, including a North American headlining run earlier this year and this week they wrap a string of European dates.

According to Variety, FIVE FINGER DEATH PUNCH has resolved its dispute with its longtime record company, Prospect Park. The band and the label have announced the release of a greatest-hits album with two new songs in December, with a brand new full-length album to follow next year.

FIVE FINGER DEATH PUNCH's follow-up to 2015's "Got Your Six" was delivered to Prospect Park last December, but a legal battle with the company delayed the LP's arrival.

FIVE FINGER DEATH PUNCH guitarist Jason Hook said in an interview this past summer that the band's new album was "completely done. There was sixteen songs completed, sitting at Prospect Park, ready to go," he told SpazioRock. "Everybody that's heard the record so far thinks it's our best record. I'm super excited about it. I thought we fucking knocked it out of the park. There's some really cool, different things on there that are slightly different for us. There's certainly a chunk of what you would expect from FIVE FINGER DEATH PUNCH, but there's some solid songs that are slightly outside of our regular box. But everyone thinks it's a smash."

According to Hook, FIVE FINGER DEATH PUNCH's new album finds the band once again walking the fine line between subtle experimentation and continuing with the tried-and-tested formula which has turned them into arena headliners.

"We can't really do anything differently," Hook admitted. "We are what we are. And it's an interesting challenge, because when you get to your seventh or eighth or ninth record, it comes naturally to do what we do. So we can't be fake about it, we can't fabricate something that's different — we have to just do what comes naturally. Fortunately, when we're making records, you have to come up with sixteen or so songs, so you can do a little bit of experimentation and try to break outside the box a little bit. Sometimes it doesn't work. Sometimes it's, like, 'Okay, that's way too fucking different.' But it's very easy for us to come up with the bulk of our sound in sixteen songs. And I think you'll be very delighted. It's a powerful record."

FIVE FINGER DEATH PUNCH in April filed a new lawsuit against Prospect Park, asking a judge to release them from their contract with the label and to order the company to pay more than a million dollars in damages.

Prospect Park told TMZ at the time that the real issue was the band still hadn't delivered the album "required under the recording contract and expected by their fans."

Prospect Park sued FIVE FINGER DEATH PUNCH more than a year ago for breach of contract, alleging that the group wanted to rush the recording of a new album without proper creative input from the label and in order to "cash in" before the anticipated "downfall" of singer Ivan Moody, who was revealed at the time to be in rehab. In addition, Prospect Park wanted more time to promote "Got Your Six", and asked the band to provide just two new songs for a greatest-hits collection in the interim.

According to Prospect Park's original lawsuit, FIVE FINGER DEATH PUNCH's four-album contract prohibited the band from beginning to record a new effort until at least nine months have passed since the release of the previous one.

In May 2016, FIVE FINGER DEATH PUNCH announced it had signed a new North American recording deal with the BMG-owned rock label Rise Records.

Swedish avant-metallers Diablo Swing Orchestra have confirmed details of their upcoming new album titled Pacifisticuffs. The 13-track album will be released on December 8th via Candlelight / Spinefarm.

The eight-headed beast behind Pacifisticuffs is notoriously hard to pigeonhole; although comfortable nestled in the rock and metal worlds, they incorporate elements of jazz, prog and even classical music. With tongues firmly in cheek, they take a sideways look at the world we live in and sprinkle their musical output with a healthy dose of theatrical sparkle.  

Since the release of their last album, Pandora's Piñata, in 2012, lead vocalist Annlouice Lögdlund departed the band and has been replaced by Kristin Evegård. Evegård has wasted no time integrating into the band, and along with an all-round more democratic process, has added her lyrical and composition skills into the mix for Pacifisticuffs. 

The core style and approach of the band remains recognizable, but the band has turned their sights outwards rather than inwards. Less introspective than previous releases, Pacifisticuffs offers an expression of life's highs and lows and everything in between, all delivered with that recognisable Diablo Swing Orchestra touch of Technicolor.

Blood Music has announced the signing of black metal/death rock act, Wolvhammer.

With the current rapid rise in quality USBM, Wolvhammer races to the forefront with their upcoming fourth album, which sees them merging the black metal tendencies of Enslaved with the mid-tempo sludge of Celtic Frost. Eschewing any frills, the band goes straight for the throat. No experimental bullshit, just the sound of rotten flesh and slow decay.

Featuring Jeff Wilson (Nachtmystium / one of the forces behind Abigail Williams “The Accuser”) and Adam Clemens (vocalist for Skeletonwitch), Wolvhammer has finally stepped into their own.

David Gilmour has released an unboxing video for the deluxe edition of his new Live At Pompeii release (out now). Watch below:

45 years after Pink Floyd’s David Gilmour filmed Live At Pompeii in the legendary Roman Amphitheatre there, he returned for two spectacular shows that took place on July 7th and 8th, 2016, part of his year-long tour in support of his #1 album, Rattle That Lock. The performances were the first-ever rock concerts for an audience in the stone Roman amphitheatre, and, for two nights only, the 2,600 strong crowd stood exactly where gladiators would have fought in the first century AD.

David Gilmour Live At Pompeii is an audio experience on its own, while the audio-visual spectacle features lasers, pyrotechnics and a huge circular screen on which specially-created films complement selected songs. Paramount, however, is the incredible music: the show includes songs from throughout David's career, as well as many Pink Floyd classics, including “One Of These Days”, the only song that was also performed at the band’s 1971 show.

Both concerts also saw very special performances of “The Great Gig In The Sky” from The Dark Side Of The Moon, which David rarely plays as a solo artist. The 2-disc concert CD was produced by David Gilmour, and mixed by Andy Jackson and David Gilmour. The 148-minute concert film includes highlights from both shows, filmed in 4k by director Gavin Elder. DVD and Blu-ray versions contain an extra 7-minute documentary by Gavin Elder ‘Pompeii Then And Now’, while the Deluxe Blu-ray 4-disc box contains the 2xCD version, the 1xBlu-ray version, and a full 207 minutes of extra footage: 11 live performances and 5 documentaries, plus bonus collectables. Vinyl lovers can enjoy a deluxe 4xLP version in gatefold sleeves and a hardback slipcase, plus a 24-page photo booklet.
