KORN

KORN's JONATHAN DAVIS Was Shocked By PRESIDENT OBAMA's Shout-Out

While awarding the Medal Of Honor at the White House on Thursday (November 12) to a former Army captain who tackled a suicide bomber in Afghanistan and was badly injured in the August 2012 attack, President Obama recounted a moment during Florent Groberg's recovery when he thought he was hallucinating because KORN singer Jonathan Davis appeared at his bedside.

The President then said: "Flo thought, 'What's going on? Am I hallucinating?' Today, Flo, I want to assure you you are not hallucinating. You are actually in the White House. Those cameras are on, (and) I am not the lead singer from KORN."

Groberg, who needed 33 surgeries to save his leg after tackling the bomber, is the tenth living service member awarded the nation's highest honor for battlefield bravery in Iraq or Afghanistan.

Davis, who happened to be visiting military bases abroad when he met Groberg, told Rolling Stone that he was "shocked and taken aback" by the Obama namecheck. He recalled: "I was asleep and then around six or seven in the morning, my phone starts going off. I look over and someone had just texted me 'The president just said your name during this Medal Of Honor ceremony.' I'm just like 'whatever' and went back to sleep, but [my phone] kept going."

He added: "I couldn't believe it. It's really cool. The President of the United States gave me props for being there for a Medal Of Honor recipient. Groberg went through hell."

Groberg is now medically retired from the Army. Three service members and a foreign service officer were killed in the blast, with Groberg being the only one who survived the attempt at stopping the bomber. He shares the Medal Of Honor with the four deceased military members.

"I talk to a lot of vets who come back and are hurt," Davis said. "They're in disbelief and depressed but happy that they're home. It's amazing just to put a smile on their face."

New Video Footage Captures The Moment The Bataclan Massacre Began

New Video Footage Captures The Moment The Bataclan Massacre Began

A new video clip has been posted online showing the moment gunfire interrupted the EAGLES OF DEATH METAL concert Friday night (November 13) at the Bataclan hall in Paris, France as terrorists launched their massacre.

The band was in the middle of performing its song "Kiss The Devil" when the first gunshots rang out in the 1,500-capacity venue. One of the guitarists, Dave Catching, is seen lifting his guitar up above his head. A few seconds later, as more shots ring out, drummer Julian Dorio ducks behind his drum kit, and one member flees the stage immediately before the film stops.

Graphic designer Sebastien Snow was filming the show on his mobile phone when the shooting started and posted the short clip to Instagram with the caption: "The last notes before gunshots, panic and horror."

The footage is embedded below, but some may find it disturbing to watch.

A concert attendee told the Nottingham Post: "Everyone thought it was part of the show but then I saw the lead singer’s face drop before he ran off stage, and the lights came on."

A total of 89 people were killed at the Bataclan, making it the most deadly of the series of attacks across the French capital which have left a total of at least 129 people dead and 352 injured.

A British man, Nick Alexander, who was selling merchandise for EAGLES OF DEATH METAL at the concert, is among those who died.

The members of EAGLES OF DEATH METAL were uninjured during Friday night's attack.

Tonight's MOTÖRHEAD Concert In Paris Rescheduled For January

MOTÖRHEAD has been forced to cancel tonight's show in Paris, France at The Zenith due to the ongoing terror threat in that country after six simultaneous attacks on Friday night left at least 129 people dead, including the massacre at the EAGLES OF DEATH METAL concert hall, where at least 80 people were killed. MOTÖRHEAD's crew, trucks and buses are unable to cross the border into France for the gig, which was to take place at the Zenith concert venue. The group intends to reschedule the gig for an unspecified date in January.

"Our hearts go out to all who have suffered in Paris tonight. We are so sorry; it is so utterly horrific," the group wrote in a statement. "Thank you to everyone who has asked about us all. Everyone in the Motörcamp is safe, although as you have probably heard, Paris and, indeed, France, is understandably on lockdown until local authorities can gauge the full extent of what has occurred. We just hope everyone can heal."

Show production company Gerard Drouot Productions added on Facebook: "Following the tragic events that occurred last night in Paris, the Ministry of Culture has taken the decision to close the Zenith Paris - La Villette on Sunday, November 15. The MOTÖRHEAD concert scheduled... is therefore postponed to a later date, probably on 21 January. We will confirm this report shortly."

Tracklisting:

“The Executioner”
“Lines Crossed Lives Lost”
“Head On A Spike”
“The Longest Haul”
“Your Sad Existence”
“On The Shores Of Hell”
“New Hell”
“Master Of Betrayal”
“Human Cesspool”
“The Grey Mass”
“Resurrect With A Vengeance” (live)
“New Hell” (Dynamic Mix)

“Lines Crossed Lives Lost” video:

Album teaser:

Vocalist Esse stated prior to the recordings: "You can look forward to 40 minutes of HateSphere as you know it, however, seasoned with a few surprising delights! Who, for example, would expect to hear blast beats on a HateSphere record?"

The guys seemed to have a pretty good time while recording the new album - the fantastic atmosphere at the Antfarm Studios and the collaboration with Tue surely needs to be credited for this, among others.

New Hell was produced, mixed and mastered by Tue Madsen and will also be available as a limited edition digipak with two exclusive bonus tracks.

AUTOPSY – After The Cutting Box Set Pushed Back To January; Teaser Trailer Streaming

AUTOPSY – After The Cutting Box Set Pushed Back To January; Teaser Trailer Streaming

US death metal maestro, Autopsy, has launched a teaser trailer for its forthcoming After the Cutting four-disc box set. This special, limited collection will now release on January 8, 2016 through Peaceville. However, it will be worth the wait; After the Cutting will feature an expansive book penned by Dennis Dread recounting the career of the gore legend, featuring unseen photos and exclusive artwork, accompanied by four discs brimmed full of classics, new tracks and previously unheard rarities from deep within the band's own archive.

Teaser trailer:

Now preceding After The Cutting will be the aptly titled Skull Grinder, containing seven new tracks (also featured on After The Cutting) and releasing on vinyl to coincide with this year's Black Friday on November 27 (CD to follow in 2016).

"Waiting For The Screams":

Autopsy commented: "We at Autopsy HQ are pleased to have the opportunity to once again torture your minds and ear holes through the medium of recorded brutality. The band went back to Fantasy Studios in Berkeley in late July to record a brand new release called Skull Grinder. Musically, it's just what you'd expect from us; no style changes, wimp outs, sell outs, settling down or caving in. Add to that acknowledgement of the obvious, some of Wes Benscoter's sickest art yet to (dis)grace the cover, and you have a new sledgehammer to the bowels with no apologies offered whatsoever."

The After The Cutting four-disc set with book can be pre-ordered at this location. The Skull Grinder LP can be pre-ordered here.

15 - San Antonio, TX - Philip Anselmo's Housecore Horror Festival (Aztec Theatre)

DRAGGED INTO SUNLIGHT / GNAW THEIR TONGUES Streaming NSFW Video “Visceral Repulsion”

DRAGGED INTO SUNLIGHT / GNAW THEIR TONGUES Streaming NSFW Video “Visceral Repulsion”

Brace yourself for a journey into the bleakest depths of humanity as N.V. - the aurally destructive collaboration from Dragged Into Sunlight and Gnaw Their Tongues. The album is released today (November 13) and the a new NSFW (Not Safe For Work) video for "Visceral Devastation" has been released.

Due to the graphic content of the clip, the band has released the following statement: "The nature of this video is graphic. It is a fan video compiled from publicly available footage. If you would prefer to watch a video with an advert from your favorite brand on what to consume next, there are a plethora of options, and on that basis, viewer discretion is advised. In the interim, this video stands as a testament that extreme music will always draw on those aspects which the majority chooses to ignore and would prefer did not exist. Reality is ugly, sorry/not sorry."

N.V. consists of 30 claustrophobic minutes of blackened noise five years in the making from the mysterious masterminds behind the extreme metal outfits. Both entities rigorously designed a distinct collective sound heavily inspired by Godflesh's Streetcleaner while reaching toward dark industrial spaces that both bands’ previous material had only briefly touched upon. To complete the circle of influence, Godflesh's Justin Broadrick was on board to produce the record along with Tom Dring (whom previously has worked on several DIS releases, including 2012's Widowmaker).

Bundles are currently available on CD or limited vinyl pressings including black (600 total), piss yellow (200 total) and transparent milk with black splatter (200 total) variants via the Prosthetic webshop here.

Trailer:

Dragged Into Sunlight first encountered Mories from Gnaw Their Tongues (also of De Magia Veterum, Cloak of Altering and others) back in April 2010 when Dragged Into Sunlight were about to begin a tour of Europe with Weedeater, Black Cobra and Saviours. Discussions of a collaboration began later that year, with both parties eager to see if it would be possible to make a record equally weighted in contributions despite their geographical distance. During the following years, ideas were bounced across the Channel repeatedly and rigorously until they formed a cohesive formula, one that took heavy inspiration from the intact legacy of Godflesh’s "Streetcleaner," pushing the collective sound in to a dark industrial space that both bands’ previous material had only touched upon. Progress was made incrementally, with long periods of contemplation interspersed with rapid bursts of productivity, and eventually amassing a wealth of embryonic material totalling over three hours.

Whittled down to a claustrophobic 30 minutes, N.V. was reaching its final stages, and to complete the circle of influence, Godflesh’s Justin Broadrick was invited to produce the record along with Tom Dring (who has worked on many crucial underground UK releases, including Corrupt Moral Altar and the previous works of the band). Their combined work allowed a bleak vision to be realized, and an attempt at independently producing an alternative take cemented their belief in the relentless and considered Broadrick/Dring result. Seldon Hunt was the natural choice when it came to choosing an artist to adorn N.V., his cold, ruthless style of illustration paralleling the horror of the record, as his previous work for bands like Khanate had also done. Truly then, this is a record made up of the work of a great number of talented and respected individuals, who have come together to magnify their efforts in to a blinding singularity.

Having gained notoriety for their exclusive, vicious and ritualistic live performances, Dragged Into Sunlight has established a presence throughout Europe, Japan and the US touring with heavy hitters such as Eyehategod, Weedeater, Black Cobra, Rwake, Today Is The Day, Mayhem and Soilent Green. Their cult following has set the benchmark for an ultimately unique and extreme sound, with the out-of-press Terminal Aggressor (2008), chaotic Hatred For Mankind (2009) and monolithic Widowmaker (2012) gaining them widespread critical acclaim.

Drawing the life out of everything since 2005, Gnaw Their Tongues’ mix of black metal, horror and industrial music spans 40+ releases. The group has performed at prestigious festivals in the US, Italy, Belgium and The Netherlands in addition to many shows all over the world.

VEKTOR – New Track “Ultimate Artificer” Streaming

VEKTOR – New Track “Ultimate Artificer” Streaming

The first track from sci-fi thrashers Vektor's third album has landed. "Ultimate Artificer" is taken from Terminal Redux, which is due out in March 2016 via Earache Records. Ahead of the album release, Philadelphia-based Vektor will be hitting the road for their first ever European tour, followed by a North American tour supporting Voivod in early 2016.

Vektor vocalist/guitarist David DiSanto comments:

"We wanted to come out of the gates full force and showcase a song that represented the album accurately. Terminal Redux covers a lot of ground so it wasn't an easy decision. In my opinion, this song is right in the middle of the pendulum swing between the ultra-heavy thrash and the more proggy/experimental elements of the album. It's only the tip of the iceberg! Since this is a concept album, each song is a different chapter in the story. As the fifth track, 'Ultimate Artificer' introduces a pivotal point within the story without giving away the beginning or end."

Following on from where previous album, Outer Isolation, left off - Vektor have written their first full concept album. Terminal Redux tells the story of a test subject and his rise to power within the all-controlling Cygnus Regime. His ultimate goal is to restore balance within the galaxy by controlling the ebb and flow of life and death. After regaining his position as a top-ranking General, he incites a coup within Cygnus and takes command of their forces. However, as time passes, it becomes clear to him that power is just an illusion.

As well as letting their imaginations flow free lyrically, Vektor have also embraced some unusual audio elements during the recording of Terminal Redux. The band enlisted the vocal assistance of a group of Philadelphia soul singers to contribute additional texture to the riff-heavy thrash opus. The finishing touches are currently being applied to the album following writing and recording sessions at the band's home studio, as well as Panther Pro-Audio in Philadelphia, with additional mixing courtesy of Byron Filson at Villain Studios in Arizona.

HEAVEN SHALL BURN And NAPALM DEATH Announce 7” Split

HEAVEN SHALL BURN And NAPALM DEATH Announce 7” Split

UK grindcore pioneers Napalm Death and Germany’s metal powerhouse Heaven Shall Burn have teamed up for a very special split 7” EP release.

Entitled The Mission Creep, this limited vinyl-only split 7” EP will be released on December 11, via the bands’ longtime label Century Media Records and it will include both an unreleased song by Heaven Shall Burn called “Battle Of Attrition” as well as the unreleased Napalm Death track “An Extract (Strip It Clean)”.

The EP comes packaged with artwork design (Both bands have an A side with own front cover artwork) created by Frode Sylthe (The Haunted, Napalm Death, At The Gates) and is limited to 2,000 copies in the following vinyl versions/colors:

800x Black (CM Mailorder/Distro Europe & North America)
400x Red (CM Mailorder/Distro: Europe & North America)
200x Clear (CM Mailorder Europe)
200x Yellow (Impericon)
200x Blue (Impericon)
200x White (Impericon)

Preorders are available at the CM Distro.

Here are comments from both bands about The Mission Creep:

"It is a huge honor for us to be releasing this split 7” EP. It not only is the first 7” in Heaven Shall Burn’s career, but also shared with a band that has been an influence on all levels of our band’s development. Napalm Death have been a constant inspiration and will always remain innovators. We are as happy as young kids, again! Our song ‘Battle Of Attrition’ deals with the happenings on the battlegrounds of Flanders from more than a 100 years ago and the unfortunately repeating tragedies for all Nations, which are misled into devastating war scenarios.“ – Heaven Shall Burn

"Split recordings are a great opportunity to explore something a little different, and with the voice that Heaven Shall Burn have out there in the world, we thought it was a nice route down which to spread our own tentacles of music and ideas. The convergence of ideas between our two bands on the design side of the EP was quite seamless, so as good a meeting of minds as there should be." - Mark 'Barney' Greenway / Napalm Death

Graphic Video Shows Carnage Outside EAGLES OF DEATH METAL Concert

Graphic Video Shows Carnage Outside EAGLES OF DEATH METAL Concert

A reporter from the French newspaper Le Monde has shot video footage of dozens of people fleeing the Bataclan concert hall Friday night (November 13) in Paris under gunfire from terrorist attackers. The graphic clip, which was filmed from an apartment balcony, includes footage of a woman who makes the desperate decision to climb out of a second-story window and hang precariously above a back alleyway. Also visible in the video is at least one person writhing on the ground as additional victims pour out the theater, some of them bloodied or limping. Some of the victims collapse outside the door, and remain motionless throughout the video. Another victim is dragged down the alleyway by a friend. Sporadic gunfire can be heard as the victims leave the building.

Le Monde, which has posted the footage, said the video was filmed at 10 p.m. at Passage Saint-Pierre Amelot in the 11th arrondissement of Paris.

Daniel Psenny recorded the video from his apartment window and was later shot in the arm as he attempted to help people shelter in his apartment, and is being treated at the Georges-Pompidou hospital. He said the bullet was fired from a window.

Psenny told Le Monde he was watching TV and heard what he thought was firecrackers. "But the noise was loud, so I went to the window," he said, "I live on the second floor, and my apartment overlooks the emergency exits Bataclan.

"Everyone was running from all sides, I saw guys on the floor, blood... I understood that there was something serious. I asked what was happening. Everyone rushed back to the Rue Amelot and Boulevard Voltaire.

"A woman was clinging to the Bataclan window on the second floor. I thought of the images of 9/11 [attacks on the World Trade Center]."

Psenny said that he stopped filming and went down to the street to aid the injured. "I opened the door of the building. There was a man lying on the sidewalk," he recalled, "With another man we tried to drag him to safety in the lobby.

"At that moment, I was hit by a bullet. I do not know [what happened], my mind is a blank. But I remember it felt like a firecracker exploding in my left arm, and I saw that it was spurting blood.

"I think the shooter was at the Bataclan window. The man we saved was shot in the leg. He was an American. He vomited, he was cold, we thought that he would die.

"We called the emergency services, but they could not evacuate us. I called a doctor friend who told me how to make me a tourniquet with my shirt. And we stayed there until the assault was over."

Witnesses said four attackers stormed inside the 1,500-seat Bataclan hall, a well-known concert venue on the Boulevard Voltaire, from the back and fired several rounds from Kalashnikov AK-47 rifles at the crowd who were watching Californian rock band EAGLES OF DEATH METAL.

The reported death toll so far at the Bataclan theater is 87.

Among those confirmed to have survived are the members of EAGLES OF DEATH METAL.

FOO FIGHTERS Cancel Rest Of European Tour In Wake Of Terror Attacks

FOO FIGHTERS Cancel Rest Of European Tour In Wake Of Terror Attacks

FOO FIGHTERS have canceled the remaining shows on their European tour in the wake of the series of terrorist attacks that rocked Paris, France Friday night (November 13).

The band has issued the following statement:

"It is with profound sadness and heartfelt concern for everyone in Paris that we have been forced to announce the cancellation of the rest of our tour. In light of this senseless violence, the closing of borders, and international mourning, we can't continue right now. There is no other way to say it. This is crazy and it sucks. Our thoughts and prayers are with everyone who was hurt or who lost a loved one."

FOO FIGHTERS were scheduled to perform in Paris on Monday, November 16.

At least 80 people were killed at the Bataclan concert hall where EAGLES OF DEATH METAL were performing.

The total number of dead is 128, though the death toll is expected to rise as the situation becomes clearer.

French president Francois Hollande blamed Friday's attacks on ISIS, calling it "an act of war" by the militants. He said it was planned from the outside — "with inside complicity."

"When the terrorists are capable of doing such acts, they must know that they will face a France very determined," he said.

NICK ALEXANDER, Veteran Merch Manager, Feared Dead In Paris Terrorist Attack

NICK ALEXANDER, Veteran Merch Manager, Feared Dead In Paris Terrorist Attack

Nick Alexander, a British national who was selling merchandise for EAGLES OF DEATH METAL, is believed to have been killed during the tragic attack at the band's concert in Paris Friday night (November 13). The coordinated attacks across the city have left over 120 dead and hundreds injured.

According to The Telegraph, Alexander, 36, from London, was shot in front of Helen Wilson, an American expat who herself was wounded in both legs.

Wilson, who runs a catering company Rock EN Bol in Paris, told The Telegraph: "We heard a couple of noises outside and people started running into the club. We didn't know what was going on. Then maybe five, six guys came in with machine guns and shotguns and just started shooting people. It was mayhem.

"When anyone started running they would shoot them down. So we got down on the floor. I was afraid whenever I heard a step behind me... they machine-gunned everybody."

"Nick was in front of me when we were lying on the ground and somebody moved and they just turned round and started shooting us. His back was to me and I couldn't see what happened and I tried to keep him talking and then I tried to give him mouth-to-mouth resuscitation and they [the gunmen] were just sort of in the shadows and they would shoot if anyone said anything. Then he couldn't breathe anymore and I held him in my arms and told him I loved him. He was the love of my life."

According to Substream Magazine, Alexander had previously worked with such bands as SUM 41, PANIC! AT THE DISCO and UNDEROATH.

DEFTONES Members Were At Paris

DEFTONES Members Were At Paris's Bataclan Concert Hall Shortly Before Deadly Attack

DEFTONES frontman Chino Moreno has told CBS Sacramento that he was in Paris when a series of attacks rocked the city Friday night (November 13). His band was scheduled to perform at Bataclan on Saturday, and he was at dinner when shots rang out. His security team managed to him and his family back to their hotel room.

"Yeah, we're safe," he told CBS Sacramento. "We weren't scheduled to play at the Bataclan until tomorrow night. A couple of [the DEFTONES] band members, they went to the [EAGLES OF DEATH METAL] concert, but they left early — after the first few songs, they ended up leaving the venue. They got out of there and all of our band and crew are safe and accounted for at the hotel now. So, we are just here, we're pretty much on lockdown. They told everybody pretty much to stay indoors and don't go out, because they're still… Everything is still unfolding as we speak."

The worst of last night's carnage occurred at the EAGLES OF DEATH METAL concert, where at least 80 were killed. More than 1,000 people were inside the hall at the time of the rampage. A journalist who was at the concert there escaped and told CNN: "I found myself inside the concert hall when several armed individuals burst in, in the middle of the concert. Two or three men, without masks, came in with Kalashnikov-type automatic weapons and began shooting blindly at the crowd ... it lasted 10, 15 minutes. It was extremely violent and there was a wave of panic. Everyone was running in all directions towards the stage. It was a stampede and even I was trampled on. I saw a lot of people hit by bullets. The gunmen had loads of time to reload at least three times. They weren't masked; they knew what they were doing; they were very young."

DEFTONES have just finished mixing their long-awaited follow-up to 2012's "Koi No Yokan" for an early 2016 release. According to Moreno, sixteen songs were written for DEFTONES' new CD, which was once again produced by Matt Hyde (SLAYER, CHILDREN OF BODOM, MONSTER MAGNET, WINDS OF PLAGUE). The effort will feature a guest appearance by Jerry Cantrell (ALICE IN CHAINS).

RUSH:

RUSH: 'Subdivisions' Performance Clip From 'R40 Live' Concert Film

Canadian rock legends RUSH will release their "R40 Live" concert film later this month.

A performance clip of the song "Subdivisions", taken from "R40 Live", can be seen below.

All roads have led to this. Forty-one years in the making, RUSH's "R40 Live" tour took a very real journey back through time. Beginning with the grand design: a state-of-the-art stage set that pivots, rolls and dives, and brings "Clockwork Angels" in to bombastic, colorful life before marching stridently back in time (through theatre stages, a panoply of band and fan shots, the accrued memories of a life spent playing live) to a mocked-up school gym and the band playing there; a solitary bass amp set on the chair behind Geddy Lee, a mirror ball spiraling crazily above, casting thin rods of light like a light rain across the crowd, "Working Man" coming to a shuddering halt as the band's beginning becomes their end.

RUSH recorded and filmed "R40 Live" over two sold-out shows in the band's hometown of Toronto at the Air Canada Centre on June 17 and June 19, 2015 in the middle of their "R40 Live" 35-date North American tour.

"R40 Live" had the trio of Geddy Lee, Alex Lifeson and Neil Peart, performing a career-spanning live retrospective, celebrating their 40-plus years together. The epic live shows by the Rock And Roll Hall Of Famers were captured with 14 cameras to present the band feature-film style.

The center-point of this tour was the remarkable setlist, coupled with their idea of a "de-evolution" set design. When the band opened the show with cuts "Headlong Flight" and "The Anarchist" from their most recent studio recording, 2012's "Clockwork Angels", they did so with all the bells and whistles from that extensive tour. They worked backwards through their catalogue as the show progressed, the innovative set design making for constant visual eye-candy, as stagehands exchanged the gear and props on stage to resemble the era-correct tour staging in accordance with the songs being played.

The first set featured the infamous dryers on stage while they played "Roll The Bones", "Subdivisions", and for the first time ever live, "Losing It" featuring violinist Ben Mink, who appeared on the original studio recording from 1982's "Signals".

The second set opened with classics "Tom Sawyer", followed by crowd favorite "The Spirit Of Radio", but also included "Jacob's Ladder", which hasn't been performed live since 1980 on their "Permanent Waves" tour. The last few songs of the "R40" were set against the persimmon curtained theatre-looking stage, with the crowd raising their lighters and camera phones to "Closer To The Heart", and then Alex and Geddy appeared with their signature doubleneck guitars as they played "Xanadu", into the epic "2112" and encored with "Lakeside Park/Anthem" and "What You're Doing/Working Man".

The concert film also includes the the band's renowned tour videos, highlighted by "Roll The Bones (R40 Live)", that features an array of special guests in the rap part of the song: Jay Baruchel (SHE'S OUT OF MY LEAGUE), Les Claypool (PRIMUS), Peter Dinklage ("Game Of Thrones"), Tom Morello (RAGE AGAINST THE MACHINE, AUDIOSLAVE), Chad Smith (RED HOT CHILI PEPPERS), "The Trailer Park Boys", and Jason Segel and Paul Rudd ("I Love You, Man"). It is the first time the band put the song back in the setlist since the "R30" tour, a full decade ago. During the "R40 Live" tour, "Roll The Bones" gained new life and became a fan-favorite with an arena sing-along to the chorus "Why are we here? Because we're here — Roll The Bones."

Singer/bassist Geddy Lee explained how the large group of cameo appearances came about: "We had this older video of an animated skeleton doing the 'rap' part of 'Roll The Bones', and felt it was time to update the concept for this tour. So after a lot of joking around with our show design team, we thought it would fun if we called upon some of our well-known pals and see if they wanted to have some fun with the lyrics. There were so many good and funny moments that it was hard to choose, some really hilarious and outrageous stuff! I'm so glad it worked out as it brought a big smile to the faces in the audience (and to us) every single night!"

"R40 Live" audio was produced by RUSH and David Botrill, and mixed by David Botrill (TOOL, MUSE); the film was directed by Dale Heslip, and produced by Allan Weinrib. The live photograph on the cover of "R40" was shot by baseball Hall Of Famer Randy Johnson, who captured the band in a rare moment when both Geddy Lee and Alex LIfeson were on Neil Peart's drum kit riser.

"As a friend and fan of RUSH, and the passion I have for photography to capture moments, it's great that both can blend together in a lasting impression, here for the world to see," commented the self-described 6' 10" ninja in the photo pit," who was on a portion of the tour in his new role as photographer.

"R40 Live" will be released on November 20, 2015, and will be available in the following configurations:

* 3-CD/1 Blu-ray set* 3-CD/1 DVD set* 3-CD set (audio only)* Single-disc Blu-ray* Single-disc DVD

Pre-orders from the band's site feature each configuration bundled with a special "R40" All Over t-shirt.

METALLICA, AC/DC, SLIPKNOT, MÖTLEY CRÜE, GUNS N

METALLICA, AC/DC, SLIPKNOT, MÖTLEY CRÜE, GUNS N' ROSES Members React To Paris Terrorist Attacks

Members of METALLICA, AC/DC, KISS, SLIPKNOT, MÖTLEY CRÜE, GUNS N' ROSES, SHINEDOWN and PAPA ROACH are among the musicians who have reacted with shock and pledges of solidarity for France following the killing of scores of people in attacks in Paris on Friday night. Some of their views can be seen below.

The worst of tonight's carnage occurred at the EAGLES OF DEATH METAL concert at the Bataclan hall, where at least 112 were killed. The gunmen had loads of time to reload at least three times. They weren't masked; they knew what they were doing; they were very young."

Michael Dorio, brother of EAGLES OF DEATH METAL drummer Julian Dorio, said he spoke to Julian about 20-30 minutes after the attack. "He said he had been performing and heard the gunshots. They stopped playing and hit the deck and went backstage and exited," Michael Dorio told CNN.

Michael Dorio told WSB-TV Channel 2 that his brother was okay and at a police station in Paris.

"I don't know if it was seated or standing, but Julian, the lead singer and some of the crew, there was a door back of the stage that led to a street and they flew out the back door," he said.

This was a very heartfelt project for all of us. We really worked on the material to improve the sound quality, but always taking great care to preserve its original feel."

As a member of the SCORPIONS from 1973 through 1978, Roth helped pioneer the neo-classical style that has influenced countless guitarists to this day. His extraordinary playing can be heard on four classic SCORPIONS records, "Fly To The Rainbow" (1974), "In Trance" (1975), "Virgin Killer" (1976) and "Taken By Force". This lineup also recorded what many still consider to be one of the greatest live albums ever recorded, "Tokyo Tapes".

"At first I didn't realize the impact it had on the rock music scene," Roth told JamMagazine.com about the live album. "When I left the band in 1978, I disconnected myself from the past and was only interested in my new band, ELECTRIC SUN. I didn't follow the success of 'Tokyo Tapes'. Over time, I began to realize that musicians and fans kept referring to that album like it was something extra special. Gradually I understood why. Now I actually see the recording in a different light than what I thought back then."

DAVE LOMBARDO Talks About His Favorite Double-Bass Drummers: MIKE PORTNOY, JOEY JORDISON, GINGER BAKER

DAVE LOMBARDO Talks About His Favorite Double-Bass Drummers: MIKE PORTNOY, JOEY JORDISON, GINGER BAKER

Former SLAYER and current PHILM drummer Dave Lombardo recently spoke to Louder Noise about some of his favorite double-bass drummers: Mike Portnoy (DREAM THEATER, THE WINERY DOGS), Joey Jordison (SLIPKNOT) and Ginger Baker (CREAM). Check out the clip below.

Lombardo was effectively fired from SLAYER after sitting out the band's Australian tour in February/March 2013 due to a contract dispute with the other members of the group. He has since been replaced by Paul Bostaph, who was previously SLAYER's drummer from 1992 until 2001 and recorded four albums with the band.

PHILM released its sophomore album, "Fire From The Evening Sun", on September 16, 2014 (one day earlier internationally) via UDR. The band's lineup is completed by guitarist/vocalist Gerry Paul Nestler (CIVIL DEFIANCE), and bassist Francisco "Pancho" Eduardo Tomaselli (WAR).

The disc was mixed by Devin Townsend.

INTRONAUT guitarist/vocalist Sacha Dunable comments: "This video is ridiculous. Please don't hate us now. Much thanks to Pat Lascu for making it. We're on tour getting ready to meet up with BETWEEN THE BURED AND ME, ENSLAVED and NATIVE CONSTRUCT, as well as a bunch of our own headlining dates. Check our Facebook for those, and go buy our record! Thank you to everyone who has bought it so far; we love you guys!"

The initial LP run of "The Direction Of Last Things" is limited to 2000 copies worldwide and presented in an awe-inspiring package. This double LP piece is housed in a matte-finished gatefold with a spot UV print over highlighted art elements. Collectors are also treated to a rarely utilized packaging element, a printed inner-gatefold tube, which not only houses the LP's, but also a 12"x24" poster, showcasing the full cover art in all it's glory. Just when you thought it was over, LPs are pressed on mint green-and-black splatter, red-and-black marble, solid dark green or standard black wax with an etching, which surrounds the music grooves, on side D.

"I don't care how cliché it is to say; this is our best record yet!" states Dunable. "This is INTRONAUT at our most technical, brutal, catchy, and straight up fearless. I haven't been this proud of an album since we recorded our first demo 10 years ago. We took a somewhat unusual approach and tracked most of it live over the course of four days, then handed it off to Devin Townsend to mix. The result is pure magic. Prepare your earholes for fornication."

On the heels of the new album release, INTRONAUT will hit the road on "The Coma Ecliptic Tour III", alongside BETWEEN THE BURIED AND ME, ENSLAVED and NATIVE CONSTRUCT.

"It's been over a year since our last North American tour. What better way to dust it off than with these three amazing bands. These shows are going to be insane, and we can't wait to play some new songs for you guys!" adds Sacha.
