VAN CANTO Comment On New Album's Bonus Material - "Orchestral A Capella For The Brave"
Germany's VAN CANTO are gearing up for the release of Dawn Of The Brave, recorded with Charlie Bauerfeind (BLIND GUARDIAN, HELLOWEEN, HAMMERFALL) and Ronald Prent (MANOWAR, RAMMSTEIN, WITHIN TEMPTATION), and due on February 7th via Napalm Records.
The bands has checked in with the following update:
"We want to give you some information on the Bonus CD (included in the mediabook and earbook editions). The first three songs are orchestral versions of our songs 'If I Die In Battle', 'Take To The Sky' and 'My voice'. The songs were arranged and produced by Armin Haas, who is also guitarist in the band WINTERSTORM that will support us on our upcoming European tour.
He did a really great job, especially when you think of the fact that these versions are completely instrumental, so all melodies you know from our original versions are 'translated' into the orchestra. We truly felt like heroes when we listened to the final result for the first time. We hope you will like it too. Orchestral a cappella for the brave!"
Dawn Of The Brave tracklisting (standard edition):
'Dawn Of The Brave'
'Fight For Your Life'
'To The Mountains'
'Badaboom'
'The Final Countdown' (EUROPE cover)
'Steel Breaker'
'The Awakening'
'The Other Ones'
'Holding Out For A Hero' (BONNIE TYLER cover)
'Unholy'
'My Utopia'
'Into The West' (Lord Of The Rings Soundtrack cover)
'Paranoid' (BLACK SABBATH cover)
A recent update states: "Dawn Of The Brave is our fifth studio album and it was important for us to go a little bit further than before. From the drum sound of Charlie Bauerfeind through to the choir recordings with over 200 Van Canto fans up to the mixing of Ronald Prent, who made the whole thing shine, as we always wanted to. The album will be bigger, fatter and more powerful-voiced than ever. We are thrilled to look forward to the release of the album and to play the songs live on tour. Rakkatakka Motherfuckers!"
To promote their new album, Van Canto will be on tour next year. Confirmed Tour Of The Brave dates with Winterstorm and special guests (TBA) include:

LOST DREAMS: 'Loco Motive' Video Released
"Loco Motive", the new video from Austrian modern melodic death metallers LOST DREAMS, can be seen below. The song is taken from the band's fifth album, "Blinded By Rage", which was released on November 4, 2011 via Twilight Zone Records.
LOST DREAMS last year announced the addition of singer Sebastian Brandauer to the group's ranks.
Commented LOST DREAMS guitarist Andreas Maierhofer: "Sebastian sings and performs with a lot of attitude and really likes the LOST DREAMS music style. He will contribute with his own style, but he can sing the classic LOST DREAMS songs very close to the original singer and also deliver the hard-hitting vocals like Stefan [Traunig] did."
Added LOST DREAM guitarist Herbert Sopracolle: "We are extremely excited to announce and welcome Sebastian Brandauer into the band as vocalist. Sebastian has really been a breath of fresh air for us. Sebastian's voice add new dimensions to our sound."

SPIRALARMS: 'Drugs & Alcohol' Video Released
"Drugs & Alcohol", the new video from SPIRALARMS, the San Francisco Bay Area-based heavy rock band featuring Craig Locicero (FORBIDDEN, ex-MANMADEGOD) on guitar, Tim Narducci (ex-SYSTEMATIC) on vocals, Chris "Cornbread" Lombardo on bass, Brad Barth on keyboards, Anthony Traslavina on rhythm guitar and Ron Redeen (THE ESSENESS PROJECT) on drums, can be seen below. The song is taken from SPIRALARMS's second album, "Freedom", which was released on October 22, 2013 via Steamhammer/SPV.
SPIRALARMS rose from the ashes of millennial bands SYSTEMATIC, FORBIDDEN and MANMADE GOD.
Friends since the age of 15, Narducci and Locicero bonded over their love of heavy metal and hard rock music. Looking back at that time period, Craig said, "[We were] probably the youngest kids in the East Bay metal scene that were drinking beer out in the parking lot after seeing bands like TESTAMENT and EXODUS play."
Although the two remained friends throughout the years, they both went their separate ways and started bands of their own.
After years of playing with their respective groups, the two friends contacted each other and decided it was time to start playing music together again, and in 2004 SPIRALARMS was born.
"Freedom"'s down-to-earth and very dynamic production deserves a mention. The album oozes a liveliness, which many other bands tend to lose in the studio. "We always work at the studio as a full band," says Locicero. "The basic tracks of the new album were recorded in just about 16 hours, the rest was recorded by and by, but always in the same spirit. From the beginning, we never lost sight of our vision and that special flair which our new songs have."
"Freedom" track listing:
01. Dropping Like Flies02. Hold Me To The Sky03. Exit 6304. Blackmoon Morning05. Drugs & Alcohol06. Dealer07. Lovers Leap08. Tomorrow's Dream09. Freedom10. I Lay Low (digipack bonus track)

CONVULSE Guitarist KRISTIAN KANGASNIEMI Quits
Guitarist Kristian Kangasniemi has left reactivated Finnish death metallers CONVULSE "due to personal reasons." The band states: "We wish all the best for Kristian and thank him for his services and great live performances during last two years. Now we will go on threesome as long as we find a second guitarist who is fitting in our band. [We] don't know [if] it [will] take weeks or years, but one thing is for sure: we will go on and we are starting to write and rehearse new material next week for the fourth CONVULSE album."
CONVULSE's current lineup features the band's original vocalist, guitarist and bass player, and their brand of classic old-school death metal still sounds like it's 1991.
The band latest album, "Evil Prevails", was released last November via Svart Records. Available on CD, LP, and digital formats, it follows CONVULSE's critically acclaimed comeback EP, "Inner Evil", released last year by Svart.
One of the most memorable pioneers of the first wave of Finnish death metal, CONVULSE was there in 1990 with bands such as XYSMA, DISGRACE and ABHORRENCE to create the scene which was to become legendary.
Formed in 1988 under the name S.D.S., CONVULSE's first release was the "Resuscitation Of Evilness" demo cassette in 1990. The success of the demo led to a deal with the French record label Thrash Records, which released the band's first full-length album, "World Without God". A CD-single, "Lost Equilibrium", followed in 1993 via Relapse Records, after which CONVULSE prepared to record its second album, "Reflections". The group travelled to Sunlight Studios in Sweden and laid down the effort in a one-week period. The following year (1993) was dedicated to CONVULSE members performing their mandatory military service in Finland, which delayed the release of "Reflections" until the summer of 1994 (also through Relapse). An attempt to regroup in support of the CD ended "with poor results," and after serious discussions, a decision was made to put CONVULSE to rest.
After an 18-year break, CONVULSE returned in 2012 and played a few comeback shows in Finland.

THROWDOWN: Entire 'Intolerance' Album Available For Streaming
"Intolerance", the new album from the Southern California metal act THROWDOWN, can be streamed in its entirety using the SoundCloud widget below. Due on January 21 via eOne Music, the follow-up to 2009's "Deathless" was recorded at Hurley Recordings in Costa Mesa, California with rising producer Davey Warsop and mixed at Planet Z.
"Intolerance" features guitar solo contributions from Dave Nassie (BLEEDING THROUGH, NO USE FOR A NAME, INFECTIOUS GROOVES), who joined THROWDOWN's recent touring lineup alongside DEMON HUNTER drummer Tim "Yogi" Watts and "Deathless"-era bassist Mark Mitchell.
Comments THROWDOWN frontman Dave Peters: "Completing this record felt great in so many respects, most important of which was the opportunity to finally give longtime supporters of the band this music that I've had swirling around in my head over the past four years.
"The variety of people from different places and scenes who have found the band through vastly different avenues over the past 15 or so years will each get into it for their own unique reasons, I think. And for those who think it’s junk, it's only about 28 minutes they have to regret."
"Intolerance" combines the massive production punch of the moody, sludgy and powerfully diverse masterpiece "Deathless" (which spawned the Sirius XM staples "This Continuum" and "The Scythe") with the focused resolve of the band's genre-classic-filled back catalog.
The big sound that developed on "Deathless" works magic upon the brutal missives found all over "Intolerance", nearly all of which clock in around two minutes.
"Deathless" and "Vendetta" collaborator Chris "Zeuss" Harris (HATEBREED, CROWBAR, DEMON HUNTER) returned to mix the new record.
Drummer Jarrod Alexander (AMERICAN NIGHTMARE, SUICIDE FILE, MY CHEMICAL ROMANCE) made his first recorded appearance with THROWDOWN on "Haymaker", returning as a session player again for "Deathless" and the brand new album, "Intolerance".
"Intolerance" track listing:
01. Fight Or Die02. Borrowed Time03. Avow04. Hardened By Consequence05. Defend With Violence06. Suffer, Conquer07. Cut Away08. Intolerance09. Without Weakness10. Born And Buried Alone11. Condemned To Live

OBLITERATIONS Signs With SOUTHERN LORD
Southern Lord has announced the signing of California punk henchmen OBLITERATIONS. Comprised of Stephen McBean on guitar, Austin Barber on bass, Sam James Velde on vocals and Flo Schanze on drums, OBLITERATIONS unites former and current members of BLACK MOUNTAIN, SAVIOURS, BLUEBIRD, NIGHT HORSE and PINK MOUNTAINTOPS. The band came together in a mere two rehearsals in December 2012. McBean and Barber both individually relocated to Los Angeles, and continued to cross paths with friend Sam James Velde. The three had known each other for years continually intersecting over various tours. Discussing their similar music tastes reaching from the obvious hardcore and punk to obscure psych or even early '80s British shoegaze, the three decided to jam on a whim one Saturday after talking about the idea over beers at divvy watering hole. Two rehearsals later they had four songs completed; they recorded them quickly before their other respective bands left on winter tours, without any real intent, yet the results were inspiring. Velde was introduced to Schanze through the folks in OFF!, in which they implied "We have a good feeling about this guy." Schanze visited Los Angeles with the intent to join a "punk band," jamming with Sam and Stephen on separate occasions. McBean auditioned Schanze for his alter ego side project PINK MOUNTAINTOPS but instead jammed VOID and BLACK FLAG covers for three hours. The next thing they all knew they had the right fit for a new band which they dubbed OBLITERATIONS. Dealing out heavy classic punk and hardcore like every era of BLACK FLAG, DIE KRUEZEN, BORN AGAINST or POISON IDEA yet quick to reference ALICE COOPER, SPACEMEN 3, THE STOOGES or THE LAUGHING HYENAS as inspiration, the blueprint isn't the point here, it's the results. OBLITERATIONS' sound is abrasive and raw, driving and aggressive, yet catchy. The band has no grand scheme other than to play as much as possible, anywhere and everywhere. They've already created a small frenzy within their home region with chaotic live shows, having shared the stage with TRASH TALK, BLACK BREATH, DEATH, MAMMOTH GRINDER and more. OBLITERATIONS released its debut four-song seven-inch EP on Outer Battery Records in October 2013. Hot on its heels, the band has another new four-song EP titled "The Hole" coming out this month via the Volcom Entertainment Vinyl Club (ST. VITUS, HIGH ON FIRE, THE SHRINE). Following that, OBLITERATIONS has etched plans to record their debut full-length for Southern Lord in March at Dave Grohl's Studio 606, preceded by a Southwest tour including multiple performances at this year's SXSW festival. | 0

VAMPILLIA Signs With CANDLELIGHT RECORDS
Candlelight Records has announced the singing of the Japanese alternative experimental metal band VAMPILLIA.
The Japanese metal scene is well known for its imaginative and often eccentric approach. It is rich and varied with new alternative and experimental bands appearing and collaborating often. Breaking through the crowds is Osaka-based "brutal orchestra" VAMPILLIA.
Trying to put VAMPILLIA into a neat genre box is almost impossible but when you factor in original band member Yoshikawa Toyohito is an ex-member of Japanese experimental noise rock collective BOREDOMS, you begin to get a sense of the sublime madness contained within VAMPILLIA's Candlelight Records debut, "Some Nightmares Take You Aurora Rainbow Darkness", which was produced and recorded by Ben Frost at Greenhouse studios, well-known as Bjork and SIGUR ROS's studio in Iceland.
Recently VAMPILLIA welcomed drummers Tatsuya Yoshida from Japanese noise duo RUINS and Talow The Tornado from hardcore band NICE VIEW to the group and they, alongside Toyohito, perform alongside a cast of ten (sometimes more) musicians to create an "experimental pop-style brutal orchestra." Chaotic vocals, discordant guitars, beautiful piano, elaborate strings, unsettling noise and several powerful drum sounds are harmonized as one into a sound the band calls "a beautiful chaos."
"We hope the music gives a strong impression of overwhelming speciality and mysteriously universal sounds," the band says.

MANTICORA Announces New Guitarist
Danish metallers MANTICORA have announced the addition of guitarist Stefan Johansson to the group's ranks.
Says the band: "Stefan is not all new to the band, as he did tour with us nine years ago, on the European tour with ANGRA. He also joined us for festival shows in both USA and Romania at that time.
"Stefan is a shredder in the vein of Jeff Loomis [NEVERMORE] and John Petrucci [DREAM THEATER], and he is an overall positive and genuine guy, who will bring some good spirit into the band."
Adds MANTICORA guitarist Kristian Larsen: "I had the pleasure of sharing the stage with Stefan some nine years ago, and we did have a great time. He knows his way around that fretboard, and he is at the same time quite tight and aggressive in his approach to the rhythm parts. This is a must for me, as we have a lot of parts in our music, which demand two tight rhythm guitarists."
Says Stefan Johansson: "I don't have much to say other than thanks to the guys for giving me the chance to step into this awesome band.
"MANTICORA is a legendary band, having released seven amazing albums and having toured so many times.
"It was quite a ride, back in 2005 (debuting in front of 1200 screaming fans in Milano — my first show EVER!), and I hope this ride will be even more fun.
"I'm here to stay for good this time around."
In other news, MANTICORA has parted ways with bassist Kasper Gram who "has chosen other musical paths." A replacement bassist has not yet been announced.
MANTICORA is working on material for its eighth full-length album. The band previously released seven CDs over an 11-year period, completed six European and one U.S. tours and played a number of festivals in Europe and the U.S. Due to a lot of personal tragedy, the band went into a writing/touring hiatus following the release of 2010's "Safe" and has only been playing festival shows for the last couple of years. However, MANTICORA promises all of its fans that it will be back, re-energized a and stronger than ever and ready to deliver another 15 years of dark and powerful metal. | 0

THE EXPLOITED Signs With NUCLEAR BLAST RECORDS
Nuclear Blast Records has announced the signing of British punk legends THE EXPLOITED.
Founded in 1980 in East Kilbride, Scottland by Wattie Buchan, the band is working on its new album for a late 2014 release. Comments Wattie: "At last, after giving my word four years ago that we would sign to Nuclear Blast, it's now official!
"For us, it's a big deal to be signing to the biggest indie record company in Europe.
"One of the main reasons we signed to them is the fact that Markus [Staiger], the owner, is a big EXPLOITED fan and I know he will give us 100% backing to make the next album as great as the last ones." Adds Nuclear Blast owner Markus Staiger: "Having THE EXPLOITED sign a deal is a longtime dream coming true.
"In my youth, I listened to hardcore and punk almost exclusively and THE EXPLOITED have been one of my absolute favorites ever since. Records like 'Punks Not Dead', 'Troops Of Tomorrow' and later on also 'Beat The Bastards' and 'Fuck The System' have been on heavy rotation constantly.
"The shows of this band have always been and still are a very special experience. Honest, hard and snotty — just like punk should be.
"A true highlight for me, of course, was their performance at the Nuclear Blast HQs on my birthday in 2013. After that, the deal has been set via handshakes and we've been celebrating 'till the break of dawn!
"Welcome to Nuclear Blast, guys. Punks not dead!!" Nuclear Blast Records will re-release several THE EXPLITED classics on March 14 (March 18 in the U.S.). The will include great bonus material and will be made available as CD digipaks and on gatefold vinyl.
* "Beat The Bastards" (+ "Official Live-Bootleg" Bonus DVD)* "Fuck The System" (+ 4 Bonus Tracks)* "The Massacre" (+ 4 Bonus Tracks)

RISING Writing Songs For Next Album; To Hold Tryouts For New Vocalist, Bassist
Danish epic sludge act, RISING, had a turbulent 2013, writing, recording and releasing their second album, Abominor, amidst losing two out of three members and leaving remaining member and main composer Jacob Krogholt to reconsider the band's future.
Since the departure of vocalist/bassist Henrik Hald and drummer Jacob Johansen in July, Krogholt has regrouped with the band's original drummer Martin Niemann, while forming his own label, Indisciplinarian, to release Abominor this past November; a grim, aggressive album adding punk and crust-influenced elements to the band's already inherent traits of heaviness, epic feel and melodic sense as heard on their previous releases including the debut album, To Solemn Ash. No shows will be played in direct support of Abominor as Krogholt and Niemann -- the core of a yet-to-be-complete new lineup -- has focused solely on writing new material for Rising's third album. The duo has just completed demos for five new tracks, and has a plethora of additional riffage and ideas penned for exploration over the coming months of songwriting.
Rising is to complete the new lineup, with tryouts for a new vocalist and bassist looming, and plans to be back on the road and recording the new album with the new personnel will take shape for the second half of 2014. Meanwhile Krogholt will be busy with other new Indisciplinarian releases including the new album from noise rock duo FOSSILS along with a new Krogholt-related metallic outfit yet to revealed.

EKTOMORF: New Song 'Face Your Fear' Available For Streaming
"Face Your Fear", a brand new song from Hungarian extreme metallers EKTOMORF, can be streamed in the YouTube clip below. The track is taken fro the band's new album, "Retribution", which will be made available on January 31 via AFM Records. The follow-up to 2012's "Black Flag" is described in a press release as a "first-class fist-in-your-face album, displaying heavy grooves and sheer power in the best of ways. Refining and bringing things to perfection was the goal, and this has been achieved impressively."
On the song "Numb And Sick", EKTOMORF welcomes ILL NINO vocalist Cristian Machado as a guest, and his duet with Zoltán "Zoli" Farkas gives another new flavor to a record that clearly points out that EKTOMORF, even 20 years after its foundation in 1993, is still a raging, energetic force with the intensity of a bulldozer.
"Retribution" was again mixed and mastered by the band's longtime producer Tue Madsen (Antfarm Studios).
"Retribution" track listing:
01. You Can’t Control Me02. Ten Plagues03. Face Your Fear04. Escape05. Who The Fuck Are You06. Numb And Sick07. Lost And Destroyed08. Souls Of Fire09. I Hate You10. Watch Me11. Mass Ignorance12. Save Me13. Whisper14. Collapsed Bridge
EKTOMORF's lyrics reflect this situation and deal with discrimination, society, pain and anger but show a strong will to survive and overcome all problems. Their music combines the burning fire of the primal gypsy music with modern elements: groovy, downtuned guitar riffs and aggressive drums, supplemented by powerful and raw screaming vocals became their trademarks.

READY, SET, FALL!: 'Deceiving Lights' Video Released
"Deceiving Lights", the new video from Italy's READY, SET, FALL!, can be seen below. The song comes off the band's full-length debut, "Memento", which will be released on February 21, 2014 in Europe and four days later in North America via Lifeforce Records.
According to a press release, READY, SET, FALL! "combines Swedish melodic death with American metalcore and a strong preference for agile variability.
"Listening to 'Memento', you cannot avoid to think of SOILWORK, IN FLAMES, KILLSWITCH ENGAGE or ALL THAT REMAINS. This is exactly what READY, SET, FALL! want to achieve, without just copying those established acts. The quintet is driven by its internalization of modern-style metal, being played without any boundaries or restrictions."
READY, SET, FALL! was formed in Genoa in 2010. Some of the members have roots within the pop-punk genre (WHERE EVERYTHING IS, THE LAST BANNED) while others paid their dues as part of metalcore and metal acts such as BLOOD, SWEAT AND NO TEARS, ASPASIA and LIVING CORPSE.
A video for the song "Labyrinth", taken from "Memento", can be seen below.

8 FOOT SATIVA: 'The Shadow Masters' Video Released
"The Shadow Masters", the new video from the New Zealand metal band 8 FOOT SATIVA, can be seen below. The song is the title track of the group's latest album, which was released in August 2013.
Regarding the video, the band had this to say: "Our new video, 'The Shadow Masters', is the first video from the new album, 'The Shadow Masters'.
"We decided to return to our past and bring back an animated approach to the political viewpoint that this song is about: a controversial plant fighting back against corporate control and greed.
"We met with top New Zealand animators Mukpuddy to discuss and brainstorm the idea.
"'The Shadow Masters' is the first video in the trilogy we have planned, and as you will see, one pig down and still four to go."
8 FOOT SATIVA is a New Zealand based metal band formed in 1998. Their most famous single is the self-titled "8 Foot Sativa", which was number one on "M2", a late-night New Zealand music show for 12 weeks, and stayed on the chart for seven months. The band has toured and released albums internationally, and has played alongside artists such as KORN, CHILDREN OF BODOM and FEAR FACTORY. | 0

LOCRIAN: 'A Visitation From The Wrath Of Heaven' Video Released
"A Visitation From The Wrath Of Heaven", the new video from the experimental, dark ambient/noise trio LOCRIAN, can be seen below. The eerie clip for the eight-and-a-half-minute-long track was directed by J.P Bradburn.
Terrence Hannum (keyboards/vocals) commented: "John Bradburn has crafted a nightmare like vision from our song by flipping personas, timelines, settings to muse upon the nature of surveillance and identity."
"A Visitation From The Wrath Of Heaven" is taken from LOCRIAN's latest album, "Return To Annihilation", which was released in June 2013 via Relapse Records. The CD was recorded by Greg Norman (PELICAN, RUSSIAN, CIRCLES, SERENA MANEESH) at Steve Albini's Electrical Audio Studios in Chicago and was mastered by Jason Ward at Chicago Mastering Service.
A two-part concept album inspired by LOCRIAN's love for prog-rock progenitors GENESIS, YES and KING CRIMSON, "Return To Annihilation" is described in a press release as "the group's most ambitious recordings to date."
LOCRIAN lyricist/multi-instrumentalist Terrence Hannum comments on the album's concept: "I think for the album concept we were inspired by GENESIS' 'Lamb Lies Down On Broadway' and how it is a surreal narrative telling a story. We sought to make our own but we wanted to give our nod to the prog bands that inspired us; KING CRIMSON or YES with the multi-part songs. So we had looked at the novel 'Dhalgren' by sci-fi writer Samuel Delaney as a big influence too. How it is a circular narrative, ours is more of a mirror of itself, one that changes and shifts. It also borrows extensively from Walter Benjamin's 'Arcades Project'.
"Our story is about a cataclysm that changes the world and all manner of perception in two parts. I would say the real and the perceived. And it is all told to you through a narrator, one who you cannot tell if he is asleep or dreaming or sleepwalking through this shifting landscape. Part 1 begins at the end of a song whose lyrics discuss a dawn in which all of our monuments dissolved, the next track the wrath of heaven (a massive cataclysm) visits earth, then two moons appear in the sky (perhaps the most direct reference to Delaney's novel but also an homage to Nick Drake). It ends with the first multi-part track 'Return to Annihilation', a more metaphysical description of the changes apparent in the world. One in which minerals work against man, there is only evolution. We also gain insight into that what we've been told may be unreliable as the narrator admits to 'noctambulism' (sleepwalking). But it is intentionally unclear if this is his state or the state of everyone. Part 2 is a view back through this mirror or lens of Part 1. We exit the hall or vapor and light and enter a panorama of mirror, the entire world as reflection. It ends with a four-part piece about worshiping equilibrium in a world where it has been extinct (isostasy), discussing the qualities of the air that is now poisoned, witnessing the burial of urns (hydriotaphia) and finally awaking to awareness.
"One of the things we wanted to accomplish was a sense of texture with mirrors, prisms, lenses, etc. being referenced in the sounds and tone. I think it does."
Formed in late 2005, LOCRIAN consists of André Foisy (electric and acoustic guitars, arp avatar, electronics), Terence Hannum (vocals, synthesizers, piano, organ, mellotron and tapes) and Steven Hess (drums, electronics). The group, located in Chicago, Illinois and Baltimore, Maryland, has released over 20 recordings on an eclectic array of labels in their relatively short but prolific career, including a split with labelmates HORSEBACK.
"Return To Annihilation" track listing:

MÖTLEY CRÜE's 'Final Tour' To Feature Support From ALICE COOPER?
Eddie Trunk — co-host of the VH1 Classic television program "That Metal Show" who has a long-running radio show, "Eddie Trunk Rocks" (formerly "Friday Night Rocks"), on New York's Q104.3 FM — has tweeted what appears to be the official ad for MÖTLEY CRÜE's farewell tour, apparently dubbed "The Final Tour", which will allegedly feature support from ALICE COOPER. It should be noted, however, that the authenticity of the poster has not been confirmed by an official source and Cooper's presence on the bill should be treated as a rumor only.
MÖTLEY CRÜE is expected to hold a press conference in Los Angeles on January 28 during which they will announce the first details of the farewell tour, which will reportedly kick off in May and last for a couple of years. Later that night, MÖTLEY CRÜE will be the musical guest on "Jimmy Kimmel Live!" The band will perform several songs on the show's outdoor stage in front of a standing-room-only crowd.
MÖTLEY CRÜE singer Vince Neil told Billboard.com back in August that the band's final tour would begin during the spring of this year and wrap up sometime in 2015.
"It's just kind of that time," Neil explained. "We'll do one more time and then kinda call it quits. We're going out on top. We don't want to be some band that people are like, 'Oh, they're playing a club now.' We still sell out arenas, have stadium stuff and things like that."
Neil and MÖTLEY CRÜE drummer Tommy Lee previously made comments suggesting that guitarist Mick Mars' health issues were partly to blame for the band's decision to call it quits — something that Mars, who suffers from the spinal disease ankylosing spondilytus, has repeatedly denied.
"Any rumors regarding a farewell tour due to 'my poor health' are BS. I am doing fine, my AS has never kept me from touring and never will," Mars wrote on Twitter in August.
MÖTLEY CRÜE wrapped up its second Las Vegas residency at the Hard Rock Hotel's Joint last October.

SAVAGE To Record Live Album
Mansfield, England-based heavy rockers SAVAGE are planning to record their first live album in their hometown.
The four-piece band is playing the Old Library Theatre on Saturday, February 1 and will record the entire gig for release later in the year.
SAVAGE has not played in Mansfield for many years, concentrating mostly on European gigs in addition to performing in New York in 2000.
METALLICA famously covered one of SAVAGE's tracks ("Let It Loose") and often played it at early gigs in San Francisco.
The Old Library gig promises to be very special, as the band will play all the tracks from its debut album, "Loose N Lethal", as well as some newer material.
As well as preparing for this live recording, the guys are also writing a new album, which they intend to record after a short European tour in April. Both recordings will be released simultaneously later in the year under the title "Live n Lethal".
Chris Bradley, SAVAGE singer and bass player, says of the Mansfield gig: "This will be a special night for us.
"Even some of our family and friends have yet to see the band live. Also, everyone who buys a ticket in advance will be sent the new album free of charge when it's released!
"It will be the first time we've played the first album from start to finish in the U.K."
SAVAGE features Chris, Andy Dawson on guitar, Mark Nelson on drums, and interestingly, Chris's son, Kristian Bradley, on guitar. "The first time Kristian saw SAVAGE was from the stage, playing the songs!" says Chris. | 0

ALTERBEAST To Release 'Immortal' In March
Sacramento technical death metal militia ALTERBEAST will release its full-length debut on March 18 via Unique Leader. Titled "Immortal", the eight-track monster offering was meticulously assembled in several locals throughout 2013. With guitars and bass recorded at Augmented Audio in Los Angeles with former THE BLACK DAHLIA MURDER bassist Ryan "Bart" Williams, vocals arranged at Mayhemeness Studios in Sacramento by Bob Swanson (RINGS OF SATURN, PLAGUE WINDOW) and drums tracked at Castle Ultimate Studios with Zack Ohren (LIGHT THIS CITY, ALL SHALL PERISH, FIRST BLOOD, CATTLE DECAPITATION, WARBRINGER), who also mixed and mastered the release, "Immortal" promises to deliver some of the most dynamic, instrumentally adept and plainly crushing material of the year. Elaborates vocalist Cam Rogers of the outcome: "'Immortal' is what was spawned from hard work, dedication, and downright brutal musicianship. It has intricate solos, absolutely crushing interludes and brutal circle-pit anthems.
"ALTERBEAST sets the scene with grievous piano preceding the onset of 'Flesh Bound Text', which comes in with blistering drums and guitars effortlessly making their way around the fret board.
"Every piece truly has its own personality on this record, whether it's the apocalyptic soundscapes of 'Ancient's Retribution', the devastating aggression of 'Vile Remnants' or the unmerciful grooves in 'Throne Of Maggots'.
"This album has something for every listener and comes together seamlessly to form as a breathtaking whole.
"Immortal' is exactly what we intended it to be: a gripping and intense death metal album." "Immortal" track listing:
01. Flesh Bound Text02. Of Decimus Divine03. Vile Remnants04. Ancient's Retribution05. Mutilated Marvel06. Into Oblivion07. Serpentspire08. Throne Of Maggots
The song "Flesh Bound Text" can be streamed below. Formed in 2011 under the working title GARY BUSEY AMBER ALERT (GBAA), ALTERBEAST combines the teachings of THE BLACK DAHLIA MURDER, NECROPHAGIST and SPAWN OF POSSESSION with the classic death metal mastery of band's like DISSECTION and MORBID ANGEL into an irate expulsion of sonic deviance. After a year of dedicated song crafting, ALTERBEAST unleashed its first demo in 2012 and officially waged war on the populace with numerous shows opening for DEICIDE, DYING FETUS, TESTAMENT, REVOCATION, EXHUMED, SEVERED SAVIOR and many others. Their crushing live assaults combined with a DIY ethos quickly earned them a revered place within the local death metal community. ALTERBEAST is:

4ARM Welcomes Back MARKUS JOHANSSON
Markus Johansson, lead vocalist and guitarist for SYLENCER, has joined Melbourne, Australia-based metallers 4ARM as the replacement for Danny Tomb.
Johansson previously played guitar for 4ARM on the road in 2013 following the departure of John Paul Glovasa, who left the band due to "serious family issues."
Danny Tomb exited 4ARM earlier in the month for personal reasons.
4ARM's third studio album, "Submission For Liberty", was recorded at Melbourne Records with Danny Tomb and drummer Michael Vafiotis producing. Mixing the CD was U.K. engineer Matt Hyde (MACHINE HEAD, SLIPKNOT, TRIVIUM) and mastering duties were handled by Ted Jensen at Sterling Sound in New York City. The cover artwork was designed by Brent Elliot White, who previously worked on ARCH ENEMY's "Khaos Legions".
In regards to the musical direction of the new album, Tomb said, "'Submission' is far more energy- and passion-driven than anything we've done before. There is a lot more melody and a hell of a lot more thrash. The plan was to create an album that harnessed an energy to it that could be felt, not just heard." | 0
