CONFESSOR: Collection Of Early Demos To Be Made Available In May
 "Uncontrolled", a compilation of all three demo taptes from the acclaimed Raleigh, North Carolina-based progressive doom metal band CONFESSOR, will be relased on May 8 via Divebomb Records.
CONFESSOR made a name for itself by writing unapologetically heavy riffs, with a unique flare for timing changes. The band had created quite a stir by playing all over the Southeast and landing two tours in Europe, including the now legendary "Gods of Grind" tour with CARCASS and ENTOMBED. With the release of their debut album, "Condemned", the band felt as though their chance was at hand to show the world what they knew, that CONFESSOR was unlike anything else out at the time. Unfortunately, label merging and politics forced CONFESSOR off of the U.S. leg of that famous tour in favor of the latest "new band." CONFESSOR's struggles with their label led to lineup changes that seriously altered the band's trajectory and eventually they disbanded after only a single album was released. Luckily, over the years CONFESSOR's controversial-yet-pioneering sound became accepted and adored by many in the metal community and in 2004 the band reunited for some festival appearances. They have reunited once again for a special appearance at the Maryland Deathfest in 2012.
"Uncontrolled" is the first time all three CONFESSOR demo tapes have been released officially. These are the demos that helped the band get signed to Earache Records back in 1990 and led to the eventual release of "Condemned".
For the diehards, Divebomb has unearthed raw archival live footage as part of both an enhanced CD and bonus DVD. Jeff Wagner, author of "Mean Deviation: Four Decades Of Progressive Metal", has also contributed a brand new essay to the liners.
The demos themselves were converted from original reels and/or DAT by The Kitchen Mastering in 2004. Jamie King remastered the entire set in 2012 at his Basement Studios.

CONFESSOR released its latest full-length album, "Unraveled", in 2005 via Season of Mist. The CD was produced by Dick Hodgin (ex-CORROSION OF CONFORMITY producer) and is "a wonderful representation of the classic CONFESSOR twisted guitar riffing and complex drumming, meshed with some more straightforward parts and a toned down and very melodic vocal approach," according to Jeffreys.
CONFESSOR split up in the early '90s after releasing one full-length album (1991's "Condemned") and EP (1992's "Confessor"), with the with the rhythm section going on to form FLY MACHINE. CONFESSOR reformed in 2002 following the death of guitarist Ivan Colon, who passed away due to cardiac complications.

HOLY MOSES Parts Ways With Guitarist, Announces Replacement
 Veteran female-fronted German thrashers HOLY MOSES have parted ways with longtime guitarist Michael Hankel and have replaced him with Peter "Pete" Geltat (ex-DESILENCE). The band states, "This difficult decision is based on personal reasons and we please you to respect that this is a matter between the band and Michael, so we won't explain this in detail."
"Even though musicians are part of the public in general there are some things which have to stay private.
"We thank Michael for everything he did for the band and wish him all the best for his future with DEW-SCENTED and EROSION.
"Geltat, who already ennobled our 30th-anniversary album, 'In The Power Of Now', with his guitar skills, will lay the stages in ashes with us for the upcoming shows, which he already proved last weekend at our rehearsals at the Absurd Studios in Hamburg."
The "30th Anniversary - In The Power Of Now" double album will be released on April 30 in Germany, April 23 in the rest of Europe and early May in North America via SPV/Steamhammer. The CD contains re-recorded versions of 20 of the most important songs in HOLY MOSES' 30-year catalog along with two brand new tracks.

ECHOTERRA Parts Ways With Singer MELISSA FERLAAK
 Vocalist Melissa Ferlaak (VISIONS OF ATLANTIS) has confirmed her departure from ECHOTERRA, the band featuring keyboardist Jonah Weingarten (PYRAMAZE), guitarist Yan Leviathan (AVIAN), bassist Sam Van Moer (GRACEPOINT) and drummer Adam Sagan (INTO ETERNITY). She says, "[There is] no real drama, it just didn't work out. Not sure what I'll do next."

ECHOTERRA's latest album, "Land Of The Midnight Sun", was released on October 17, 2011 via Blinding Force Recordings. The effort was made available for sale in digital and physical formats. The physical copies have a 16-page booklet filled with spectacular artwork, band pictures and lyrics.

ENGEL: 'Blood Of Saints' Cover Artwork, Track Listing Revealed
 Gothenburg, Sweden-based metallers ENGEL will release their third album, "Blood Of Saints", on May 18 via Season Of Mist. The CD was recorded at Antfarm studios in Aabyhøj, Denmark. According to the group, the new album "is going to be a good mixture between both [previous ENGEL efforts] 'Threnody' [2010] and 'Absolute Design' [2007], but with some new angles as well! If you liked 'Threnody', you will LOVE 'Blood Of Saints'!"

Former SUFFOCATION Drummer MIKE SMITH Says His Departure Was 'Inevitable'
 Noel Smart of SickDrummerMagazine.com recently conducted an interview with former SUFFOCATION drummer Mike Smith. A couple of excerpts from the chat follow below.
SickDrummerMagazine.com: Why did you decide to step down from the drum throne of SUFFOCATION?
Mike: The decision was pretty much inevitable. When we first reunited, the economy was in a much different place, and I was able to make SUFFOCATION my full-time job. Over the last few years, the ability to tour and support a house, family and all it entails became a strain on myself and my family. Once you reach a certain point financially, decisions have to be made before falling to a point of no return.
SickDrummerMagazine.com: Are you happy with your replacement in SUFFOCATION being Dave Culross?
Mike: My position in SUFFOCATION isn't as simple as mounting a drum throne. The position I held within the band as president, founder, manager, songwriter, spokesperson, and all else pertaining to the working business of the band can never be replaced. Anyone drumming for the group now is just enjoying a moment in time, on me.
SickDrummerMagazine.com: Do you think the new drummer of SUFFOCATION is going to have a difficult time getting down the material from "Souls To Deny", "Blood Oath" and the SUFFOCATION self-titled release?
Mike: The new drummer won't have a hard time, because the hired guitarists can't play the songs, so he will have nothing to worry about. Whatever songs are played will be the same ones we've been playing for the last 1000 shows or so. Forcing the crew to learn and practice all the SUFFO songs was a battle that later became not worth fighting for. You're only as strong as the weak links in a band.
SickDrummerMagazine.com: Is there any bad blood between you and any of the members of SUFFOCATION?
Mike: There are only two members that I need to consider grudges with concerning SUFFOCATION. I only direct my concerns with founding stake-holding members. The respect that the brand gained and deserves was always a sour issue. In my opinion, it was always a simple concept to respect and protect the brand/band you created. No exceptions. Anyone who knows the dynamics of the band and the individual members already have a realistic understanding of why things could turn for the worst at any moment.

ORPHANED LAND Receives Turkish Peace Award
 While playing several shows in Turkey at the end of February, Israeli oriental metal ambassadors ORPHANED LAND received the Friendship And Peace Award from the Turkish government — despite the fact that the two countries have no diplomatic relations at the moment.
Commented ORPHANED LAND vocalist Kobi Farhi: "We always knew that our efforts for peace in the Middle East and between the three religions are highly appreciated but we were so surprised that we got contacted by the secretary of Turkey's Prime Minister's advisor Mr. Huseyin Tugcu. He contacted our manager in Turkey and we met him in Ankara on February 24th. He gave us an amazing peace award, with the flags of Turkey and Israel as well as the symbols of Judaism and Islam, both carried by a dove of peace. Mr. Tugcu explained that despite the political conflict between the countries his country appreciates ORPHANED LAND as a great friend to Turkey and he wanted also to thank us for donating our Istanbul show income to the victims of the devastating Van earthquake last year.
"Our tour in Turkey was amazing, supported by a great audience as always and it is for a good reason that Turkey is always described as ORPHANED LAND's second home.
"Once again we have proven that music stands above politics, above conflicts, and we ORPHANED LAND, a metal band from Israel are literally the unofficial ambassadors of Israel in the Arab world and Turkey. Hail oriental metal. Peace, Shalom, Salam!"

ALL THAT REMAINS: Eight Or Nine Songs Written For Next Album
 Massachusetts metallers ALL THAT REMAINS have written eight or nine songs so far for their next album, which they plan to release before the end of the year. According to singer Phil Labonte, the band will write five or six more tracks before entering the studio to begin recording the CD.
ALL THAT REMAINS is once again working with KILLSWITCH ENGAGE guitarist Adam Dutkiewicz, who also helmed ALL THAT REMAINS' latest album, 2010's "For We Are Many", as well as 2004's "This Darkened Heart" and 2006's "The Fall of Ideals".
ALL THAT REMAINS's "The Last Time" video (directed by Nathan Cox) was recently added to MTV2. The clip was filmed on January 30, 2011 in Chicago, Illinois with director Nathan "Karma" Cox (LINKIN PARK, BLACK VEIL BRIDES, MARILYN MANSON). The song comes off "For We Are Many", which debuted at No. 10 on The Billboard 200 chart while also coming in at No. 1 on the Hard Music Albums chart.
"For We Are Many" sold 29,000 copies in the United States in its first week of release. The band's previous CD, "Overcome", opened with just under 29,000 units in September 2008 to enter The Billboard 200 chart at No. 16.
"For We Are Many" was released through a joint venture between Prosthetic Records and Razor & Tie. The CD was recorded last spring at Zing Studios in Massachusetts and produced by KILLSWITCH ENGAGE guitarist Adam Dutkiewicz, who also helmed ALL THAT REMAINS' "This Darkened Heart" and "The Fall of Ideals". | 0 | |

DEMON HUNTER: Official 'My Destiny' Lyric Video Released
 The official lyric video for "My Destiny", a brand new song from Seattle-based Christian metallers DEMON HUNTER, can be seen below. The track comes off the group's sixth full-length album, "True Defiance", which will arrive on April 10 via Solid State Records.
Produced by Aaron Sprinkle (ANBERLIN, EMERY) and mixed by Jason Suecof (ALL THAT REMAINS, TRIVIUM), "True Defiance" finds DEMON HUNTER continuing in their hard rock evolution while embracing the components that have always formed the backbone of their music: true metal, dark rock and balladry.
The "True Defiance" album art, created by Ryan Clark, frontman and co-owner of Grammy-nominated design firm Invisible Creature with his brother (and former DEMON HUNTER guitarist) Don Clark, and illustrated by Angryblue (KORN, BLEEDING THROUGH, THE ACACIA STRAIN) shows continued commitment to excellence in all facets of the band.

ETHS: 'Adonai' Video Released
 "Adonai", the new video from the Marseille, France-based female-fronted metalcore band ETHS, can be seen below (available in both English and French versions). The clip was shot in the Frioul Islands and the band's hometown with director Louis Vignat of Scandale Productions.
"Adonai" comes off ETHS' third album, "III", which will be released on April 6 via Season Of Mist. The CD was recorded at Studio Fredman in Gothenburg, Sweden with producer Fredrik Nordström, who has previously worked with AT THE GATES, IN FLAMES, DARK TRANQUILLITY, ARCH ENEMY, SOILWORK and BRING ME THE HORIZON, among others.

DISTURBED Bassist Performs With ADRENALINE MOB For First Time; Video Available
 The new lineup of ADRENALINE MOB — the band featuring featuring drummer Mike Portnoy (DREAM THEATER, AVENGED SEVENFOLD), SYMPHONY X frontman Russell Allen, guitar virtuoso Mike Orlando (SONIC STOMP) and DISTURBED bassist John Moyer — made its live debut last night (Monday, March 12) at The Hiro Ballroom in New York City.

VOIVOD Vinyl-Only Live Album To Be Released By ROADBURN Festival
 Roadburn Festival has announced the upcoming release of VOIVOD "Live At Roadburn 2011". The festival's first official album captures the metal innovators from Canada during their Midi Theatre and Main Stage performances at last year's event.
"Live At Roadburn 2011" takes the listener on a trip through the band's discography from "War And Pain" (1984) to 2009's "Infini". It also includes the live debut of a "Phobos" (1997) track interpreted by the current lineup featuring original members Denis "Snake" Belanger (vocals), Jean-Yves "Blacky" Theriault (bass) and Michel "Away" Langevin (drums) along with guitarist extraordinaire Dan"Chewy" Mongrain.

JACK RUSSELL'S GREAT WHITE will headline this summer's "America Rocks Tour" with support from FASTER PUSSYCAT, BULLETBOYS, PRETTY BOY FLOYD and LILLIAN AXE.
JACK RUSSELL'S GREAT WHITE made its live debut on January 14 at the Rock-n-Roll GangStar Apparel Pre-NAMM Festival & Jam at Delzano's in Redondo Beach. Joining singer Jack Russell for the performance were Derrick Pontier, (former drummer for GREAT WHITE), Dario Seixas (former bassist for FIREHOUSE and the Stephen Pearcy band), Robby Lochner (former guitarist for Rob Halford's band and Cherie Currie) and Evan Haymond (guitar).
JACK RUSSELL'S GREAT WHITE is not to be confused with the other touring version of GREAT WHITE, which features Mark Kendall (lead guitar), Scott Snyder (bass), Audie Desbrow (drums), Michael Lardie (guitar, keyboards) and Terry Ilous (lead vocals).
Jack's estranged bandmates issued a statement in December in which they claimed that Russell's "frail body" and "drug abuse" have prohibited him from taking part in the band's performances for the past year. They additionally revealed that Jack had undergone "five major surgeries" after his drug abuse got so bad that "his body began to shut down and ultimately resulted in colostomy surgery from a perforated bowel."
In an interview with Metal Sludge, Russell stated about the other version of GREAT WHITE, "I don't care what they say. The proof is in the pudding. Everyone is going to see that Jack is back, that it's all rumors. I mean, do people really give a shit if I'm sober or not? They can come, they'll see I look great, I sound great."
When asked about the rumors of his poor health, Jack said, "I am fine. I just bought a 45-foot boat, and I'm living on it in Redondo Beach, my old stomping ground when GREAT WHITE was its most successful. It's nice to see my favorite sushi restaurant and favorite Italian restaurant are still around. I go fishing three times a week, and I'm in great shape. All these rumors from the other camp about me being not healthy and everyone being afraid I am going to die, it's all B.S. Those guys haven't talked to me in months. They haven't talked to me, so come on, give me a break. Who even cares? I can still sing great. End of story."
Regarding the fact that the GREAT WHITE guys and their manager have a totally different opinion on whether Jack is fit to keep going, the singer said, "They're just trying to make me look bad. They feel scared and threatened, and they should be. They don't own the name. This is my band. Everyone knows this is my band. I started in 1978 and changed the name in 1982. The others, they came in because I was the one who invited them. It was cool for a while before all this crap started. They don't own the name, they don't own the logo. [GREAT WHITE's manager] Obi Steinman sues everyone in the world, but I'm lucid, I'm clear, and I'm sober. Just because I had a rough year and a half does not mean that I gave up on my band. My name has always been synonymous with GREAT WHITE. I came up with the name, and I am entitled to use it. VAN HALEN continues to roll out a selection of rare tracks, none of which have been played live since at least the early Eighties, on the band's current North American tour. According to The Pulse Of Radio , the latest gem to be dusted off is "Hang 'Em High" , from 1982's "Diver Down" album, which was given its first airing since probably 1983 on Sunday night (March 11) in Boston. Lead singer David Lee Roth noted the occasion by telling the audience, "That's the first time we've played that in forever."
The band began unearthing the deep cuts right from the start of the tour last month, and so far audiences have heard tracks like "Hear About It Later" from 1981's "Fair Warning" , "The Full Bug" from "Diver Down" , "Girl Gone Bad" from 1984, plus "Women In Love" and "Outta Love Again" , both from "Van Halen II" .
Almost none of these songs have been performed by VAN HALEN since the initial tour for each of their respective albums.
According to online postings, "Take Your Whiskey Home" from "Women And Children First" is a popular choice among fans for the group to dig out next, along with "Fair Warning" cuts "Dirty Movies" and "Push Comes To Shove" , neither of which have ever been performed live.
VAN HALEN is on the road behind "A Different Kind Of Truth" , its first album with Roth in 28 years. The tour stops on Tuesday (March 13) in Manchester, New Hampshire. | 0 | |

Reunited REDLYNX Working On New Music
 Italian hard-rock band REDLYNX is back after 10 years! The group reunited for singer Chris Heaven's 40th birthday celebration and now is now working on new and old songs.
In addition to Heaven, REDLYNX's current lineup includes guitarists Pier Della Role and Luca Polich and bassist Rik Guido.
Chris had previously collaborated with Tracy G (DIO), Michael Von Knorring (YNGWIE MALMSTEEN), Mats Olausson (ARK, YNGWIE MALMSTEEN), Gerald Kloos (EMPIRE) and many others.

ANTHRAX: London Concert To Be Filmed For Upcoming DVD
 According to guitarist Scott Ian, ANTHRAX's sold-out March 15 concert at O2 Islington Academy in London, England will be filmed for an upcoming DVD.
ANTHRAX's video for the song "The Devil You Know" can be seen below. The clip contains clips of all the band highlights of last year.
"The Devil You Know" comes off ANTHRAX's latest album, "Worship Music", which sold 28,000 copies in the United States in its first week of release to land at position No. 12 on The Billboard 200 chart. The band's previous studio CD, 2003's "We've Come For You All", opened with just under 10,000 units to debut at No. 122.
The CD cover artwork for "Worship Music" was handled by renowned comic book artist Alex Ross, who has worked with Marvel Comics and DC Comics and is known for his "Marvels", "Kingdom Come", and "Astro City" illustrations. Ross also did the original artwork for ANTHRAX's "We've Come For You All" and "Music Of Mass Destruction" albums.
"Worship Music" was produced by ANTHRAX, Rob Caggiano and Jay Ruston and recorded over a four-year period at studios in New York, Los Angeles and Chicago. Singer Joey Belladonna's return to the band prompted some of the songs originally recorded with previous singer Dan Nelson to be re-crafted with fresh lyrics or tweaked to better suit his overall vibe and energy. Some of the songs were completely replaced with brand-new songs and, of course, all have Belladonna's inimitable vocal stamp on them.

JOB FOR A COWBOY Releases First 'The Leads Are Weak' Video Clip
 Arizona death metallers JOB FOR A COWBOY have unleashed the first in a series of instructional video posts featuring guitar wizard Tony Sannicandro. Dubbed "The Leads Are Weak", the mini-clips offer playing tips and an up-close look at Sannicandro's astounding skill and technique. Clip #1, which can be seen below, showcases the solo from "Signature Of Starving Power" off the band's "Gloom" EP.
JOB FOR A COWBOY's new studio album, "Demonocracy", will be released on April 10 via Metal Blade Records. The nine-track CD was produced by Jason Seucof (THE BLACK DAHLIA MURDER, WHITECHAPEL, TRIVIUM) who recorded the band's blistering "Ruination" full-length, at Audiohammer Studios in Sanford, Florida, and features another strikingly detailed concept cover by artist Brent Elliott White.

IRON MAIDEN: 'Blood Brothers' Performance Clip From 'En Vivo!' DVD Available
 EMI has set a March 26 release date for "En Vivo!", the new concert Blu-Ray, two-DVD set and double soundtrack album from legendary British metallers IRON MAIDEN.
"En Vivo!" was filmed on April 10, 2011 in front of over 50,000 ecstatic fans at the Estadio Nacional, Santiago during the "Round The World In 66 Days" leg of "The Final Frontier World Tour", and captures a magnificent performance by the band, ardently embraced by the legendary Latino passion and energy of their Chilean fans. With spectacular stage backdrops, dynamic musicianship and a literally jaw-dropping appearance by Eddie, this live show encapsulates to perfection the heart and soul of IRON MAIDEN 2011.
IRON MAIDEN bass player and founder member Steve Harris comments: "For 'The Final Frontier Tour' it was really important to me that we filmed in South America as we're always so overwhelmed by the fans' reaction when we go to that part of the world and I wanted to reflect that in the filming. After much consideration, we chose the Santiago show as we felt it was one of our best performances of the entire tour and to play at the prestigious Estadio Nacional was a landmark moment for us. For reasons known to our fans, it took a long time before we got to play our first show in Chile, and once we did get to play a show, the response was so phenomenal we just had to keep coming back and it's got better and better each time! This show also features the gigantic new Eddie. He wasn't due to make his appearance until our European leg of the tour later in 2011, but we managed to transport him across the sea in a special huge container just in time for the latter end of the South American dates so it was great we were able to immortalize him for the DVD as he really has to be seen to be believed!"
The concert was filmed digitally using 22 HD cameras and an octocam (a flying camera which captures aerial crowd scenes), recorded in both stereo and 5.1 audio and mixed by MAIDEN's longstanding producer Kevin "Caveman" Shirley, all of which serves to accentuate the incredible atmosphere of this compelling performance. Extensive use is made of split screens so fans can follow the individual members closer and the set list moves seamlessly between songs from MAIDEN's most recent studio album, 2010's "The Final Frontier", through to classic fan favourites via the band's vast and varied catalogue (full set listing below).
DVD Disc Two is a bonus disc containing an 88-minute documentary, "Behind The Beast". This is also an entirely in-house production by MAIDEN's own Krew, led by Andy Matthews, and is intended as an interesting and revealing high-quality "home movie" for their fans of how to put on an IRON MAIDEN tour and what goes on behind the scenes at a show. It describes the extraordinary story of one of the most acclaimed and ambitious touring shows in the world. It illustrates the day-to-day life and complex tasks of the MAIDEN Killer Krew and the other characters behind the scenes. The expertise and experience, the problem-solving and successes, the sheer scale and immense difficulties of the undertaking comes to life through the day-to-day coverage of the tour and the background work of the crews in sound, lighting, carpentry, production and set design. As well as interviews with the IRON MAIDEN crew, it interweaves anecdotes from the band and their fans, and includes footage of the live show in this comprehensive guide to the intricacies of staging massive, live stadium shows around the world out of the belly of a Boeing 757. The bonus disc also contains an extended version of the promo video "Satellite 15…The Final Frontier", a video about the making of "Satellite 15…The Final Frontier" plus the opening video sequence to "The Final Frontier World Tour".
In addition to the Blu-Ray, the two-DVD will initially be available as a limited-edition double DVD in collectors' steel book case and double vinyl picture disc. NIGHTWISH To Release 'Trials Of Imaginaerum' 10-Inch Picture Disc For 'Record Store Day'
 Finnish/Swedish symphonic metallers NIGHTWISH will release a limited-edition "Trials Of Imaginaerum" 10-inch picture disc for Record Store Day (April 21). The effort includes four previously unreleased demo recordings with Marco Hietala on lead vocals. It also comes with a download of the previously unreleased track "The Heart Asks Pleasure First", a cover with lyrics from the movie "The Piano".
"Trials Of Imaginaerum" features a picture of "The Crew, The Owl And The Dove" on one side, and the "Imaginaerum" grounds on the other side.

"The Crow, The Owl And The Dove", the second single from NIGHTWISH's latest album, "Imaginaerum", has entered the official chart in Finland at position No. 1. The single features the title cut in three versions — radio edit, album version and instrumental — and the previously unreleased song "The Heart Asks Pleasure First" (theme from the movie "The Piano") in two different versions.
NIGHTWISH will release a special "tour edition" of "Imaginaerum", on April 13 via Nuclear Blast Records. It will be a 2CD+DVD digibook in slipcase.
"Imaginaerum" sold 12,000 copies in the United States in its first week of release to debut at position No. 27 on The Billboard 200 chart. The band's previous CD, 2007's "Dark Passion Play", opened with 11,000 units to land at No. 84.

GUNS N' ROSES Performs At House Of Blues In West Hollywood; Video Available
 Fan-filmed video footage of GUNS N' ROSES' performance last night (Monday, March 12) at the House of Blues Sunset in West Hollywood, California can be seen below.
In addition to sole original member Axl Rose, the current lineup of GUNS N' ROSES includes guitarists Ron "Bumblefoot" Thal, Richard Fortus and DJ Ashba, bassist Tommy Stinson, keyboardists Dizzy Reed and Chris Pitman and drummer Frank Ferrer.
"Chinese Democracy", the 2008 album released by the current edition of GUNS N' ROSES after a 15-year wait, was officially certified platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) on February 3, 2009 for shipments in the United States in excess of one million copies. The long-in-the-making, 14-song CD finally arrived 17 years after the last full-length collections of original GUNS material, "Use Your Illusion I" and "II", were released, and nine years after the non-album track "Oh My God" surfaced on the soundtrack of the movie "End Of Days".
"Chinese Democracy" was made available exclusively through Best Buy.
The original five-piece group, along with drummer Matt Sorum and keyboardist Dizzy Reed, will be inducted into the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame in Cleveland on April 14. | 0 | |

EX DEO Begins Mixing Sophomore Album
 Producer Jean-François Dagenais (KATAKLYSM, MALEVOLENT CREATION, MISERY INDEX, DESPISED ICON) has begun mixing "Caligvla", the sophomore album from KATAKLYSM frontman Maurizio Iacono's Ancient Roman-themed arsenal EX DEO. Due on August 31 via Austria's Napalm Records, the CD will feature guest appearances by Italian singer Mariangela "Mary" Demurtas of Norway's TRISTANIA and Italian guitar virtuoso Francesco Artusato from ALL SHALL PERISH. Commented Iacono: "We were all excited to play this festival and premier some new material, but unfortunately our new album, 'Caligvla', has been delayed, and we need to finish it and make it perfect. Add to that, the KATAKLYSM DVD is also on its final production phase... We decided it would be best to concentrate on giving every bit of attention to the album you have been waiting for, and also for the KATAKLYSM documentary to kick major ass. This being said, we will still perform with EX DEO on the Montreal [April 1 at Club Soda] and Toronto [April 2 at The Opera House] shows with Paganfest, as we will be in studio in the area, closing up the album 'Caligvla'. Everything else is canceled for EX DEO. We will return to support the album in the fall... Word from Rome is that the plans are already in motion for world conquest! We ask our fans to support Paganfest and the great bands playing this year!"
EX DEO last year completed a North American tour with NILE, PSYCROPTIC and KEEP OF KALESSIN.

BE'LAKOR: New Album Details Revealed
 Melbourne, Australia melodic death metallers BE'LAKOR will release their third full-length album, "Of Breath And Bone", in Europe in late May/early June via Kolony Records. The CD was recorded at Pennydrop Audio in Melbourne by Warren Hammond and is currently being mixed and mastered at Fascination Street Studios (OPETH, AMON AMARTH, PARADISE LOST) in Sweden by Jens Bogren. The cover artwork was painted by 20th century French artist Gabriel Ferrier and arranged by the renowned artist Costin Chioreanu.
