THE GREAT AMERICON, the brainchild of two-time Grammy-nominated artist Sin Quirin, will release its self-titled debut EP later this month. The band's music is described in a press release as "heavy and fast-paced, with machine-like drums and crushing, yet hooky guitar riffs."
THE GREAT AMERICON will join COMBICHRIST on select West Coast dates will hit the road extensively later in the year.
Guitarist/producer/songwriter Sin Quirin, based out of Los Angeles, has been a major player in the industrial, rock, and metal scene. He is best known for his contributions to bands such as MINISTRY, REVOLTING COCKS, and LORDS OF ACID, and has toured all over the world….most notably, performing in front of hundreds of thousands of screaming fans at many of the major festivals in Europe.
Josh Bradford delivers a commanding and intense vocal performance for THE GREAT AMERICON, with a stage presence unlike any other. Josh, based out of Vancouver, British Columbia, has previously sung for REVOLTING COCKS, as well as his own band STAYTE, and was even a guest vocalist for the band MINISTRY.
Clayton Worbeck, also based out of Vancouver, is a master at programming and keyboard performance for THE GREAT AMERICON. What Clayton adds creates a hybrid of heavy, guitar-driven rock combined with a technological, mechanical force. Clayton has also performed in REVOLTING COCKS and STAYTE.
Salvador Krk, drummer for THE GREAT AMERICON, attacks the drums with brutality. His hard-hitting rhythms will drive any mosh pit into a state of frenzy. Salvador Krk is best known for his contributions to LORDS OF ACID but he also has an extensive background in rock and metal.
Karma Cheema, the band's newest addition, is thunderous on the bass guitar. He is also well respected for his role in the bands AMERICAN HEAD CHARGE and OTEP.

Crossover veterans PRO-PAIN have issued the following update:
"It is with great sadness that we bring to you (the fans) the following news: Due to unexpected circumstances regarding some potentially serious health issues, our longtime lead guitarist and dear friend Tom Klimchuck will unfortunately have to put his musical endeavors on hold for at least the foreseeable future.
"Although we all wanted so much for Tom to be able to participate in the 20-year anniversary tours, we collectively decided that it was too risky and that his health and family should take precedence. Thankfully, (with Tom's blessing), we have found a replacement in Adam Phillips (INDORPHINE) and so the tours will move forward as planned. The fans can expect a great show, as we have quite an ambitious set list lined up for them.
"We welcome Adam aboard and we wish Tom a speedy and full recovery.
"Thank you all for your support during this difficult time and transition, and special thanks to Tom for his many years of flawless commitment to our beloved band (this tour's for you). We hope to see you all at the gigs!!"
Klimchuck has released the following statement regarding his departure from the group:
"Although thoroughly saddened by the realization that my time in PRO-PAIN is at its end, I look back with an overwhelming sense of gratitude and pride. The band has been an absolute blessing to me. It has provided a platform with which to fight the good fight, and bring inspiration through commonality to people all around the world. All the while offering countless, magical experiences that most can only dream of.
"I owe a massive 'thank you!' to Gary, Marshall, Ricky, and Adam, as well as all previous members, and crew past and present; my brothers. It has been a privilege sharing the stage, and sharing so many incredible times with you all. These are the fabric of our souls, and you are all irreversibly woven into mine. A very special 'thank you' goes out to all the PRO-PAIN fans. It is a powerful thing to watch a large group of people, seemingly strangers to one another, find common ground, and even inspiration in something I have put my heart and soul into. This is the show you have given me as I've looked out from the stage to all of you, and the gift you have given me that I will have forever. I am eternally grateful."

Some stories are left unfinished. Sometimes the best part is what happens after the tale's end. Nearly a decade ago, Neal Morse released his landmark autobiographical progressive rock epic, "Testimony". Now, he returns with an extraordinary cast of musicians to tell the rest of the story in "Testimony 2" (due on May 23 via Radiant Records). And he's saved the best for last.
Picking up where he left off on "Testimony", the sequel begins with Neal in the mid-'90s when his band, SPOCK'S BEARD, begins to experience unexpected success. Neal sings about their glory days in "Time Changer" and the original band members join in. It's a vocal extravaganza in their classic style and an extraordinary moment.
The album goes on to tell of Morse's daughter, Jayda, being born with a heart defect. Her miraculous healing has an unexpected impact on Neal, with repercussions that reverberate throughout the album.
Morse goes on into later years, quitting his regular gig in the Eric Burdon band, and continuing with SPOCK'S BEARD. Along the way, he discovers something beyond his imagination. The album concludes with "Crossing Over", which describes his ultimate departure from SPOCK'S BEARD in 2002.
Neal Morse launched his solo career, the next year, with "Testimony". With the sequel, "Testimony 2", he dives deeper into unchartered musical and lyrical territory. Incorporating legendary drummer Mike Portnoy and brilliant bassist Randy George, this breathtaking album is a prog epic with breadth that dazzles and melodies that reach into the soul.
The story ends here (for now), but the music goes on. On the second CD, the songs include a 25-minute progressive rock epic featuring Steve Morse. In addition, the "Testimony 2" Special Edition includes a behind-the-scenes DVD documentary about the making of the album.
Neal's largest tour, ever, will bring "Testimony 2" to audiences throughout Europe and the United States. Coinciding with the album and tour will be the release of his autobiography, appropriately entitled "Testimony". Together, all three occasions make for a unique artistic achievement, and Neal's greatest undertaking, to date.

Guitarist Angus Young of Australian hard rockers AC/DC has told U.K.'s The Sun that the band is already planning its next tour and is hoping to top its last world trek. "Now we're thinking, 'How can we ever better the 'Black Ice' world tour?' But we will," he claimed.
On the topic of the success of AC/DC's 2008 album "Black Ice", Young said, "We have such diehard fans, old and new. We've survived many changing fashions of music – we've outlived the lot of them."
All five members of AC/DC will attend the exclusive world premiere of AC/DC "Live At River Plate" today (Friday, May 6). The premiere will be held at London's legendary HMV Hammersmith Apollo — the U.K's largest movie screen
"Live At River Plate" is a live concert DVD documenting AC/DC's "Black Ice" world tour.
The film marks AC/DC's return to Buenos Aires.
Nearly 200,000 fans — over three sold-out shows, welcomed the band after a 13-year absence.
AC/DC vocalist Brian Johnson said the band was delighted with the DVD, claiming it accurately captured their live show. "I fucking love this film" he said. "It was like I'd never seen our show before. I've seen other films [of AC/DC in concert], but not one as good as this."
