INMORIA: Audio Samples Of Entire New Album Available
 Audio samples of all the tracks that are set to appear on "A Farewell To Nothing - The Diary Part 1", the sophomore album from INMORIA — the Swedish project featuring Christer Andersson (TAD MOROSE) on guitar, Danne Eriksson (ex-TAD MOROSE) on keyboards, Tommi Karppanen (MORGANA LEFAY, TAD MOROSE), and Peter Moren (TAD MOROSE, STEEL ATTACK) on drums — can be heard using the ReverbNation widget below. MOTÖRHEAD: New Version Of \'Ace Of Spades\' Available For Free Download
 Heineken U.K. is bringing Kronenbourg 1664 back to the small screens with the first TV support for the premium lager brand since 2006 with the launch of "Slow the Pace", a new integrated advertising campaign which broke last week.
The first execution in the new campaign shows iconic rock band MOTÖRHEAD performing a slowed down version of their classic track "Ace of Spades" (available for free download at this location; free e-mail sign-up required).
30 years to the month since it was first written, the track has been specially re-written by the band for a Kronenbourg 1664 campaign that will encompass TV, press and digital advertising, a short-film documentary and a social media activity.

LORDI Announces New Drummer
 Finnish heavy metal monsters LORDI have announced the addition of drummer Otus to the group's ranks. Otus, whose name stands for "creature," is the tenth member in the LORDI family tree.
Commented LORDI mainman Mr. Lordi: "We are not really sure who or what he is, he is just … a creature, a thing (otus in Finnish). He is a mixture of a butcher, an executioner, an alien, a lizzard and a zombie. Tough dude. And definitely one of the ugliest members in our family..."

KERRY KING On Playing With MEGADETH Again: \'I Never In A Million Years Thought It Would Happen\'
 Artisan News Service spoke with MEGADETH mainman Dave Mustaine and SLAYER guitarist Kerry King shortly before King joined MEGADETH on stage last Thursday (October 21) at the Gibson Amphitheater in Universal City, California to perform MEGADETH's classic "Rattlehead". You can now watch the two separate interviews below.
"Not very many people know this, but Kerry King played guitar in MEGADETH in the very beginning," Mustaine said. "David Ellefson [MEGADETH bassist] still touts [Kerry] as being the best rhythm guitar player that MEGADETH ever had, which I think is really cool."
He continued, "It's funny, because when Kerry played with us, he would still wear his SLAYER colors. We didn't, so we would be there with high-tops and sneakers on and Kerry would be there with nails for days everywhere. [laughs] And I remember going to his house and he was making that thing [nail-studded wristband], man. His dad's sitting on a chair watching TV and Kerry's just sitting there just hammering away, making a pentagram like it was nothing — not a big deal at all. [laughs] And we had a great time, man. He's a really smart player and he was able to learn the stuff that I wrote really quickly, which made a huge impression on David, 'cause he still talks about it."
When asked about his appearance with MEGADETH 26 years after he first played with the band, Kerry said, "I never in a million years thought it would happen. And [Mustaine] asked me in the midst of the first run [of dates featuring SLAYER and MEGADETH]. And I said, 'Let's not get ahead of ourselves. If we're gonna do it, let's do it in Hollywood.' And I just picked up the song two days ago. it's not like 'Am I Evil?' [by DIAMOND HEAD] — I can't pick it up in 10 minutes; there's real intricate riffs I've gotta perform. So I've been working on it; this is the third day now. It sounds pretty good. So it's gonna be cool, man. I've got pictures of me playing with him, man... in '84... What was that, 26 years ago?! And now we're gonna get pictures 26 years later. It's cool."
Regarding the first few shows he played with MEGADETH back in 1984, King said, "Yeah, it was after [SLAYER's] first album [came out]. I was an admirer of Mustaine, 'cause I saw METALLICA play with Mustaine; not many people can say that. And I was blown away by how good that kid was. And I think we didn't really know each other, but we both played B.C. Rich [guitars], so an acquaintance brought it up, 'Hey, why don't you see if Kerry will play with you. And [he] asked me, 'Would you be interested in playing with Mustaine?' And I was a fan of his playing and admired how he played. So I [was], like, 'Yeah, man, I'll help the dude out.' So I played the first five shows. Maybe that's where the original bad blood [between Kerry and Mustaine] came when I left; I don't know. But my band's always been SLAYER. I saw it as an opportunity when we played, 'cause we [MEGADETH and Kerry] mostly played in the Bay Area — I think that's all we played. But if people saw me, they would associate SLAYER as well. I've always thought about, 'How can I make SLAYER something bigger by doing something on my own?' And that was my thinking when I did [a guest appearance on] the BEASTIE BOYS album, too. I'm like, 'These guys will probably get a video. We're never gonna get a fucking video; we're in a metal band.' And if people see me with my nails and stuff, they'll associate SLAYER with the BEASTIE BOYS, and they'll think SLAYER, so that's just how I think."
Last Thursday night's Los Angeles-area concert was the final show of the Jägermeister Music Tour, featuring the original "Clash Of The Titans" lineup from 1991 — SLAYER, MEGADETH and ANTHRAX.

AURORA BOREALIS: New Album Title Revealed
 Maryland-based death/black metallers AURORA BOREALIS recently entered Nightsky Studios to begin recording their sixth album, "Timeline: The Beginning And End Of Everything", for a tentative early 2011 release. The CD, which is being produced by the band's guitarist/vocalist Ron Vento, will mark the recording debut of drummer Mark Green. It will consist of nine tracks and two narratives. The album is a conceptual effort that starts from the beginning of all existence and continues through until the very end of universe and the eventual retraction and rebirth of it all.
Commented Vento: "The CD is what I consider to be a true chronological explanation of how everything was started and what will happen over the next 100 billion years and beyond.
"I try to touch on everything from the Big Bang, to the formation of planets and stars, life in the universe, evolution and creationism, eventual space colonization, the fabric of the universe itself, time travel, other dimensions and species trying to preserve their races. I also explain how I think it all will one day end.
"There are literally hundreds of hours wrapped up into this cd so far and we still have a good ways to go but the release should be out very early 2011.
"The CD will have a limited hard copy run with fairly elaborate package. However, we plan to also put up a link with a ZIP file of the entire package's artwork and layout as well as high-quality lossless audio files on the web site for people who cannot afford to buy the CD.
"I want anyone who wants the CD to have it.
"It's not about making money on this, it's about putting out a great CD and getting into the hands of people who want it."

 MEGADETH bassist David Ellefson has issued the following update:
"We just finished the last show of the Jägermeister Music Tour in Los Angeles last night [Thursday, October 21].
"Man, what a great tour we had with you all. The shows were pumped, the meet-and-greets energetic and the camaraderie between SLAYER, ANTHRAX and MEGADETH has never been better. Proof of that was Kerry King [SLAYER] joining us on stage last night for 'Rattlehead' on our encore. [See video below.]
"Some may not know that Kerry was the first guitar player to ever play live with us on our maiden voyage shows in San Francisco back in early 1984. True to form, Kerry proved his god-like metal status and nailed it last night in front of a packed house of thrashers at the Gibson Amphitheater! It was powerful for us all to be 'thrashing 'till MEGADETH' again on an early classic song after all these years.
"We're chillin' the next couple weeks till our show at the AZ State Fair November 6, and then heading 'Down Under' in December for our final shows of 2010.

UNEARTH Parts Ways With Drummer
 Massachusetts metallers UNEARTH have released the following statement:
"After three-plus years of touring the world together and playing on our latest album, 'The March', we have parted ways with drummer Derek Kerswill. The most notable reason for the split are the creative differences.
"The time has come for UNEARTH to write a new album and creating music with a tight unit is the only way we can assure the best collection of songs possible.
"The differences between Kerswill and the band started off as subtle, but became increasingly obvious over the past few months and it was time for both parties to go their separate ways.
"We have shared a ton of great experiences and achieved many of the goals we set for ourselves in the time he was in the band. There is no ill will from either side of this decision and we wish him only the best moving forward... UNEARTH won't skip a beat, though, as we will be announcing a replacement drummer for our upcoming European stint on the Persistence Tour shortly.
"Lastly some exciting plans are coming together for the recording to the follow-up to 'The March', sometime early in 2011." | 0 | |

HOLY RAGE Guitarist Quits Due To \'Health Issues\'
 Due to "health issues," guitarist Chris Johnson has left HOLY RAGE, the U.K.-based band led by original JUDAS PRIEST frontman Al Atkins.
Commented the group: "Chris has appeared on three Al Atkins albums and has been friends with Al for many years. He also appears on all tracks on the new HOLY RAGE CD.
"Chris himself is fine and having treatment and still likes a beer, so he ain't that bad.
"Although Chris will no longer be playing for the foreseeable future, he will still be in charge of all band PR and the more technical side.
