NEVERMORE, Ex-KYUSS Members To Guest On New ANGERTEA EP
 Scott Reeder (KYUSS) and Attila Voros (NEVERMORE) have recorded guest appearances on the new three-song EP from Hungarian experimental/grunge metallers ANGERTEA. The CD, which is being produced by Neil Kernon (NILE, NEVERMORE, CANNIBAL CORPSE), is tentatively due in November/December via an as-yet-undetermined record label. A video for the song "Streams" is also in the works.

SEVEN KINGDOMS Parts Ways With Bassist, Announces Replacement
 Florida-based, female-fronted power metallers SEVEN KINGDOMS have amicably parted ways with bassist Miles Neff and have replaced him with Aaron Sluss.
"I've been good friends with the members of SEVEN KINGDOMS for some time now, as well as a fan of the music," Aaron says, "so when Camden [Cruz, guitar] asked me to come on board as their new bassist, I didn't hesitate.
"There is a lot of musical talent in this band and I'm very much looking forward working with them on the upcoming BLIND GUARDIAN tour and in the time beyond."

Autographed MEGADETH Bass Amp Being Auctioned For Charity
 A rare and one-of-a-kind Hartke bass amp owned and played by David Ellefson of MEGADETH is being auctioned via eBay. As you can tell by looking at the pictures below, this amp was used in MEGADETH's rehearsal/warm-up room backstage on the "Rust in Peace" 20th-anniversary tour, all the "Big Four" shows, the Sonisphere festival appearances and the first leg of the "American Carnage" tour. You can see David Ellefson in one of the pictures and Dave Mustaine's guitar tech inscribing this rare piece of MEGADETH history. This amp was personally autographed backstage during the first leg of the "American Carnage" tour at the Izod Center in New Jersey on August 12, 2010 by Dave Mustaine, David Ellefson, Chris Broderick and Shawn Drover.
The amp at retail costs $499 without the cool one-of-a-kind "MEGADETH factor."
100% of the proceeds will be donated to the American Cancer Society.

OZZY OSBOURNE Documentary To Feature SIR PAUL MCCARTNEY
 According to Xfm, Sir Paul McCartney will appear in "Wreckage Of My Past", the forthcoming film documenting the life of music icon Ozzy Osbourne. The documentary is being directed by Mike Piscitelli and is written and produced by Jordan Tappis. It will be the first release from Jacko Productions, a company started by Ozzy's son Jack.
Speaking to Ian Camfield on the "Rock Show", Ozzy recounted the moment Jack told him McCartney was involved in the project, "I said, 'He ain't got the time to do an interview about me, he's got thousands of things to do,' and Jack said, 'I've asked him and he agreed and he's done it,' and I said, 'Whaaaat?!'. Now I'm as excited as everyone else to see it but he won't let me see the video."
Jack Osbourne is executive-producing "Wreckage Of My Past" along with his mother, Sharon Osbourne, Ozzy's longtime manager.
Jack and Sharon are financing the film themselves.
Filming for "Wreckage Of My Past" began in January 2008. The documentary will reportedly include interviews with all the principal members of BLACK SABBATH, the various incarnations of Ozzy's solo band, family and friends.
But Ozzy hopes his son does not go to the other end of the spectrum, "I said to him 'Jack it can't be how wonderful I am all the time because I'm not that way all the time, everybody wakes up in a bad mood, everybody is a bit of a dickk sometimes and everybody has a good day.' I'm human, you know.
"I'm hoping he's put a bit of sweet and sour in there," he continued, "A documentary about my life is great but for every good thing there's a bad thing you know. When I was out there drinking and doing drugs I don't suppose I was Mister Charming."
In an interview with Rolling Stone, Jack stated about the movie, "The hard thing is getting people to be honest and not have it be a fluff piece, because that's not what we're trying to do. I'm trying to paint a realistic picture of who my father is. I think 'The Osbournes', to a degree, tarnished the public's perception of my dad as a bit of a senile, funny, bumbling guy. Yeah, my dad can be that guy, but it's not him. I think that almost discredited who he is as an artist. My dad's not an idiot — he's nothing short of a genius, in my opinion. He does have huge flaws, and we're trying to really paint an honest picture of that."
According to Variety, Jack Osbourne filmed several of his father's concerts, compiled early archive footage, and was hoping to secure an interview with Ozzy's first wife. He was planning to put the footage together with Piscitelli and Tappis before talking to distributors.
"I want people to see John Osbourne as the guy I grew up with, the tormented, complex musician whose personal demons manifest themselves in so many crazy, unique ways," Osbourne said. "He's agreed to it but is putting up his guard, massively afraid of putting his true self out there on display for people to see."

DAVID \'ROCK\' FEINSTEIN: Solo Album Featuring RONNIE JAMES DIO Detailed
 David "Rock" Feinstein — a former member of RONNIE DIO & THE PROPHETS, THE ELECTRIC ELVES, ELF, and the leader of the legendary New York band THE RODS — is readying a new solo effort via the Niji Entertainment Group, "Bitten By The Beast". Released on November 23, 2010, the nine-track disc will be available as a deluxe digipack, and will certainly be of interest to metal fans worldwide, due to Feinstein's impressive hard rock pedigree. Years ago, Ronnie and I spoke about doing some kind of project together again." Soon, fans will be able to hear firsthand what Ronnie James Dio had known for decades — Feinstein is the real deal, and "Bitten By The Beast" will prove this point once and for all.
The Niji Entertainment Group was started by Ronnie James Dio and his wife/manager, Wendy Dio, in early 2010 (shortly before Dio's tragic passing in May of this year). WHITESNAKE: \'The Definitive Biography\' Due In The Spring
 According to Darker Than Blue, "Whitesnake: The Definitive Biography", a lavish book which covers the history of WHITESNAKE, will be released in the spring of 2011. This 240-plus-page biography traces singer David Coverdale's early career in the U.K. clubs around Redcar and Newcastle, and his fairy-tale promotion to the ranks of DEEP PURPLE in late 1973. The formation of WHITESNAKE is explored, and the subsequent rise of the group in Europe and Japan. It is accompanied by a collection of rare and previously unseen photographs, loads of rare memorabilia, a discography and concert list.
The original biography by Simon Robinson (which is the only detailed book on the band ever written, and is long out of print) has been totally updated and expanded by writer John Tucker, with a concert list by Nigel Young and new interviews.
The book is available in a couple of editions. The "standard edition" is £175 (approximately $272) plus shipping. A more expensive edition in its own flight case is also planned.

 Former EXODUS frontman Steve "Zetro" Souza has quit DUBLIN DEATH PATROL (DDP), the band in which he shared lead-vocal duties with TESTAMENT singer Chuck Billy.
Commented Souza: "I usually keep myself very quiet and reserved; I don't spill what's going on with me outside of music, [because] it's nobody's business! If you know of me, you know what I do, and what I am.
"This subject has to do with the way people act in my circle.
"At my DUBLIN DEATH PATROL show [on Saturday, September 18], while I was on stage giving all of our DUBLIN DEATH PATROL fans the show of their life, a typical Dublin idiot doesn't know how to act and creates a silent problem for me and someone I love.
"I don't air my dirty laundry to anybody, but this is fucking bullshit.
"My girlfriend and for you fans who know her, Vickie, was disrespected again for the fourth DUBLIN DEATH PATROL show in a row by someone who's trying to make my life and her life difficult, for whatever reason.
"So this is what I have to say… You have been successful; what you are trying to achieve finally worked.
"It's been an ongoing thing. Those involved know who the parties are. For these reasons, I have decided to leave DUBLIN DEATH PATROL. It was supposed to be a fun thing with all my bros and my so-called friends.
"The whole 'DDP for life' thing is the biggest oxymoron I've ever seen. There's more senseless unnecessary drama from that camp than any of my bands put together.

ALICE IN CHAINS: \'Lesson Learned\' Video Released
 Multi-platinum-selling rock band ALICE IN CHAINS has debuted the video for new hit single "Lesson Learned" on Yahoo! Music. Conceived and directed by Paul Matthaeus, known for his groundbreaking main titles on the award-winning HBO series "Six Feet Under" and "True Blood", and produced with Bobby Hougham and Sevrin Daniels of Blank Design, the video is comprised of over 6,000 still pictures stitched together to create a visually stunning stop-frame animated clip.
Using physical lacerations as a metaphor for lessons learned, the video sees a young man and woman plummet through a derelict industrial building. Tattered clothes dissolve off, revealing wounds that symbolize emotional learning. The video was shot entirely as a stop–frame animation, but with live actors on set. The clip can be seen below.

CRADLE OF FILTH: Another New Song Posted Online
 A preview of a new track from "Darkly, Darkly, Venus Aversa", the forthcoming album by British extreme metallers CRADLE OF FILTH, is now streaming on the album's mini-site. The track, titled "The Cult Of Venus Aversa", is also playing on the band's new iPhone app, which launched this week. The free app contains audio samples, videos, pics and allows you to keep up with all the latest news from the band. The app also has a top users function which awards users points every time they use the app (i.e. write on the fan wall, post photo, share items to Facebook and Twitter, listen to tracks) and then ranks these users.

ROBERT PLANT - New York City Show With BAND OF JOY Available For Streaming
 NPR Music is now streaming a show from LED ZEPPELIN legend Robert Plant's BAND OF JOY which took place on September 12th in New York City at the Bowery Ballroom:
"This was a show full of surprises. First off, Band of Joy wasn't just backing Robert Plant. It's a band that happens to have Plant as a member. Sometimes multi-instrumentalist Darrell Scott sung lead while Plant played harmonica. At other times, singer-songwriter Patty Griffin or country artist Buddy Miller took center stage. Sure, Plant was the main reason fans turned out at the Bowery Ballroom in New York City. But this was a remarkable band giving a stunning performance.
Another surprise was Plant's demeanor. He never cut loose. Even on a song like the Led Zeppelin track 'Gallows' Pole', there was no crazy wailing. In fact, all of the Zeppelin tunes were beautifully restrained.
That led to another surprise: I never missed Plant's Zeppelin histrionics. His restraint was exactly what this setting called for. The show was still a memorable treat: Amazing players applying their craft to great American blues and old timey tunes, along with some good old rock 'n' roll.
The final surprise was that I liked the covers as much as the Led Zeppelin songs. It's safe to say that everyone smiled a little more when Band of Joy launched into 'Misty Mountain Hop', 'Houses of the Holy', 'Gallows Pole' and 'Rock and Rol'l. But truth be told, traditional songs and cover tunes such as the Los Lobos cut 'Angel Dance', a gospel medley that included '12 Gates to the City' and Richard Thompson's 'House of Cards', are what ultimately made this night a perfect delight."

TAKARA: New Lineup Announced
 U.S. rockers TAKARA will play their first show in many years on October 30 at Paladino's in Tarzana, California. A posting on the band's MySpace page reads, "Attendees of this performance can expect to hear a set of music from TAKARA that spans their entire music career catalogue, from their first album, 'Eternal Faith', all the way to their latest release, 'Invitation To Forever'.
"The band is extremely pleased to be finally be performing all these songs from the bands entire catalogue.
"More TAKARA shows will be announced for Southern California in the coming weeks."

DEAD SHAPE FIGURE: \'The Disease Of St. Vitus\' Track Listing Revealed; Audio Samples Available
 Finnish modern thrash/death-influenced metal band DEAD SHAPE FIGURE will release its second full-length, "The Disease Of St. Vitus", in October via Dynamic Arts Records. A single, "Face On The Nails", preceded the full-length effort on August 25. The physical single was released only in Finland, but the song was made available in digital format to the entire globe.

MARCO MENDOZA Releases Second Solo Album
 Bassist extraordinaire Marco Mendoza has unveiled his second solo album, "Casa Mendoza", on Mascot Records.
"Casa Mendoza" is a Latin-flavored melodic rock record with a commercial edge that is sure to appeal to fans of any of Mendoza's work.
"Being of Latin-American descent, I have always heard music with the Latin influence in it," Mendoza said. "This album gave me the opportunity to experiment and to see how far I could take it. I hope that fans out there are open to the fact that music is comes from a lot of places, and that it shouldn't be put in a box. If it's good, it's good, regardless of genre."
Top-notch musicianship shines through on Mendoza's originals, as well as the covers he has selected for "Casa Mendoza". "From the production process to the playing, everybody involved had a big influence on the record and I give them a lot of credit," said Mendoza.
Mendoza is most famous for his work with rock and hard rock acts like THIN LIZZY, BLUE MURDER, WHITESNAKE, TED NUGENT, LYNCH MOB, and Neal Schon and SOUL SIRKUS, but his vast repertoire of work goes beyond the rock genre. Mendoza has most recently been working on a project with Dolores O'Riordan from pop giants THE CRANBERRIES. When he's not touring or otherwise working, Mendoza can often be found playing local Los Angeles jazz clubs with Joey Heredia and Renato Neto. The highly-sought-after monster bassist has rejoined THIN LIZZY once more and will be touring in 2011.
"It has been a long journey through this business through the ups and downs," Mendoza said. "Always having that spiritual connection, that sanctuary you can go to, and having all these experiences of working with some of the best musicians in the biz are what drive me to keep creating music.

CHROMIUM Preparing To Enter Studio
 South African metallers CHROMIUM will enter Sonic Precision studios later in the year with producer/guitarist Jared Gunston (KNAVE, WAKE TO WONDER, VAN DIENS AF) to begin recording their third album for an early 2011 release.
"After a turbulent but highly successful year, CHROMIUM have gone through what would destroy most bands but due to an undying work ethic and extraordinary perseverance, the band have reemerged with a new brand new look, sound and line up," reads a press release. "Joining the band from the early days of CORPORATE WAR is Justin Du Preez on vocals and guitar and Adrian Basson on bass. The new attitude and personnel has brought a new energy to the already recognizable sound and blistering live performances.
"After a terrific U.K. tour which spanned three weeks and 3000 miles across the country, CHROMIUM learnt what it takes to compete internationally and what the next step in total world domination of the metal genre is. UNEARTH Releases Statement Regarding Passing Of Former Bassist
 Massachusetts metallers UNEARTH have released the following statement:
"Yesterday we lost our long time friend and original bass player Chris 'Rover' Rybicki. He lost his life from injuries sustained three weeks ago at the hands of an alleged drunk driver. The article from that accident can be found here.
"Rover hadn't been in the band since 2001, but he remained a good friend to us all throughout the years and this tragedy has hit us hard.
"Not only was Rover a talented musician, but he was also one of the funniest dudes you would ever know. His wit, dark humor and don't-give-a-fuck attitude made him a unique person that we all loved having in our lives. His memory will live on amongst his family and friends with the countless stories of Rover being Rover. He will be sorely and forever missed.
"Rover played on our our EP 'Above The Fall Of Man', our debut full length, 'The Stings of Conscience', and also on two tracks off our 2002 EP, 'Endless'.
"We would like to take a second to urge people to not drink and drive. Please be responsible so these tragedies stop happening."

HEAVENWOOD: New Album Title Revealed
 Portuguese dark/goth metallers HEAVENWOOD have set "Abyss Masterpiece" as the title of their fourth album, tentatively due in early 2011 via an as-yet-undetermined record label. The CD was recorded at Ultrasound Studios in Braga, Portugal during August and September 2010 under the guidance of Daniel Cardoso, Pedro Mendes and Ricardo Dias (HEAVENWOOD). Mixing and mastering will take in Germany with a soon-to-be-announced producer.
Commented HEAVENWOOD guitarist Ricardo Dias: "'Abyss Masterpiece' perfectly symbolizes all the feelings that flow on each one of the songs included in this album — an album that will be dark, deep, melancholic, and above all with a very intense sound on which each song have their own soul. We consider 'Abyss Masterpiece' another step forward in HEAVENWOOD's career."
