IRON FIRE: \'Metalmorphosized\' Release Dates Announced
 "Metalmorphosized", the new album from Danish metallers IRON FIRE, will be released on the following dates:
Sep. 29: Spain
Oct. 1: Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Sweden, Benelux
Oct. 4: Rest of Europe
Oct. 12: USA/Canada
According to IRON FIRE, "Metalmorphosized" is a celebration of the band's ten-year anniversary as recording artists. The group states, "Instead of just making a best-of album, we give you 13 new greatest hits. We have picked up some previous unreleased songs back from the years between 'On The Edge' [2001] and 'Revenge' [2006], and updated them to how we think IRON FIRE should sound in 2010. There will also be brand new written tracks that will show the path of future albums to come.
"To complete this anniversary package, all previous album recording members of the band will be guest-appearing on the record."

THE ABSENCE To Release \'Enemy Unbound\' In September
 Tampa, Florida melodic thrashers THE ABSENCE will release their third album, "Enemy Unbound", on September 14 via Metal Blade Records. The CD was once again recorded at the Erik Rutan-owned Mana Recording Studios in St. Petersburg, Florida in November 2009, with Brian Elliott engineering and Peter Joseph and Patrick Pintavalle producing. Going along with the saying "If it's not broke, don't fix it," the band tapped Jonas Kjellgren (SCAR SYMMETRY, CARNAL FORGE) of Black Lounge Studios in Sweden to handle both mixing and mastering on "Enemy Unbound". Guest musicians on the CD include Tom Englund of EVERGREY and Andy Wood.

In other news, original drummer and one of the founding members of THE ABSENCE, Jeramie Kling, has rejoined the band. Jeramie and THE ABSENCE parted ways after a completing a heavy touring schedule for the band's first CD, "From Your Grave".
Commented guitarist Patrick Pintavalle: "We're so glad to have Jeramie back in the band. It feels right again." Vocalist Jamie Stewart added: "In spite of everything that's been said and done, I'm glad to have my brother back. I look forward to having our collective magic restored."
Jeramie had this to say about once again stepping behind the kit for THE ABSENCE: "It's great to be back, I missed all my old friends. I can't wait to play the new songs on tour; they are going to blow the roof off. I missed the road and I can't wait to see all our fans out on tour. I am so pumped; it's just great to back."

DISTURBED: \'Decade of DISTURBED\' Documentary To Be Included With Every Purchase Of \'Asylum\'
 Chicago hard rockers DISTURBED have announced a special pre-order of their new album, "Asylum", due on August 31 via Reprise Records.
As a special gift to fans, the four-piece has created the documentary "Decade of Disturbed". The 60-plus-minute film candidly captures the band's ten-year history, with extensive behind-the-scenes and never-before-seen footage.
"Decade Of Disturbed" will be included with every purchase of "Asylum" as a thank-you from the band.

KAMELOT\'s \'Poetry For The Poisoned\' To Receive U.S. Release Via KMG RECORDINGS
 American/Norwegian metallers KAMELOT have formed the recording label Kamelot Media Group (KMG Recordings). Teaming up with DisManic Distribution via E1 and the brand marketing and promotions company Knife Fight Media, KMG's premier label release will be the North American debut of KAMELOT's highly anticipated ninth studio album, "Poetry For The Poisoned", due on September 14.
The formation of KMG Recordings seems a natural progression for KAMELOT, which is considered to be one of metal's most unique, influential and prestigious acts to come along in decades.
Commented guitarist Thomas Youngblood, "We are in a very unique and fast-changing era for the music world.
"I am very excited about the new venture of KMG in North America.
"We have a team of experienced and passionate people working with us on this new release, which will be another step for KAMELOT and our fans."
KMG Recordings turned to Gunter Ford, music veteran and founder of World Entertainment Inc., and Knife Fight Media, who worked with KAMELOT on the "Ghost Opera" and "The Black Halo" releases, to oversee and manage the new label. Gunter stated, "In these changing times, Knife Fight Media was created in order to provide marketing, promotion, product development and label management services for artists and labels in need of maximizing their brand in a fast-changing and challenging landscape of the North American music industry.
"I believe the KAMELOT 'brand' is one of the leaders in its genre.
"I will be working closely with Thomas Youngblood, Roy Khan, DisManic and the Knife Fight Media team around this fantastic new release to grow 'Poetry For The Poisoned' even beyond the level of success we experienced with their previous releases in North America."
KAMELOT's reputation among fans and media alike is marked by enthusiasm as well as esteem, with each of its eight studio albums to date surpassing its predecessor in terms of songwriting, production and commercial results. As one of the most difficult-to-categorize artists on the metal scene, KAMELOT is ready to release its most insightful and ambitious album to date, "Poetry for the Poisoned".
Throughout the recent years, KAMELOT's releases have achieved cult status around the world, and "Poetry for the Poisoned" will "once again raise the bar for others to follow," according to a press release. "The new studio album blends their trademark KAMELOT sound with new elements and a creation of musical art that will set a new standard in the genre."
"Poetry for the Poisoned" was mostly written in the remote woods of Norway to the final songwriting sessions in a remote region of Germany. The compositions take the listener through many emotions and dynamics that touch the soul and the mind.
"I think this album is by far our most diverse, fusing new ideas and elements along with the traditional KAMELOT sound and style that we have established over the years," states KAMELOT guitarist Thomas Youngblood.
Recordings took place in the familiar Gate Studios in Wolfsburg, Germany with producers Sascha Paeth and Miro. Additional tracking also took place in Tampa, Florida as well as various studios in Sweden, Greece and the U.S.
"Poetry for the Poisoned" features guest appearances by Simone Simons (EPICA), Gus G. (OZZY OSBOURNE, FIREWIND), Björn "Speed" Strid (SOILWORK) and Jon Oliva (SAVATAGE, JON OLIVA'S PAIN). The artwork was created by many great artists, including Seth Siro Anton, Natalie Shau and Michal Loranc.
"'Poetry For The Poisoned' is a mix of progressive elements, modern rock, dark arts and also power metal," states Youngblood. "It comes at a time where many people around the world are searching for something to grab on to spiritually, including myself. I recently lost my mother and to be honest it was very hard on me. So there are some melancholy moods reflected on this album."
Frontman Roy Khan assures that "Poetry for the Poisoned" will both please the band's existing following and expose the universe of KAMELOT to a whole range of new fans. "'Poetry for the Poisoned' is our longest and toughest production so far, but when I hear the result I know it was well worth the struggle," he says.

KAMELOT will embark on its first North American tour in two years in September. Support on the trek will come from LEAVES' EYES and BLACKGUARD.

IMPALED NAZARENE Part Ways With Guitarist; New Album Details Revealed
 Finnish extremists IMPALED NAZARENE have issued the following update:
"First things first: After 18 years, Anttila (guitar) has stepped aside from Impaled Nazarene. There is no drama or bullshit involved. Jarno is simply too busy with his work and family. Cheers and beers to Jarno for sticking with us that long!!!!
Jarno's departure does not affect our plans. We will continue as four piece.
As we previously reported, we will enter Hellhole studio this month with our very own soundman Tero Kostermaa to record our 11th full lenght album. Writing has has been going very well, we have 12 finished songs so far. We will record also a song made by Jarno for us as it is a kick ass tune and he gave us permission to use it.
Road To The Octagon is the album title. We can reveal some songs titles:

NOX Signs With LISTENABLE RECORDS
 Dutch death metal veterans NOX have inked a deal with Listenable Records. The band is currently writing material for its second full-length album, which it hopes to begin recording before the end of this year. A new mini-CD, "Blood, Bones And Ritual Death", will be released in September. Two tracks from the effort are available for streaming on the NOX MySpace page.
Former NOX frontman Seth Van De Loo recently rejoined the band as the replacement for drummer Bob Dussel who left the band a few months ago.

LANTLÔS To Begin Recording Third Album
 German metallers LANTLÔS released .neon, their second album, on June 11th via Prophecy Productions. The album was released in North America on July 13th.
The duo - consisting of Herbst and ALCEST frontman Neige seems restless. On July 23rd the guys will enter Iheartsound studio (Bielefeld, Germany) in order to record their third album.
Herbst gives a few insights into the band's new material: "I think with our new album we'll tread new paths for Lantlôs, both musically and conceptually. In general, the upcoming album will be very vanguard and rather unaccessible and the black metal vibe will be gone almost entirely. Still, the record will be much darker than its predecessors, nihilistic, and strange. It'll be bulky, ugly and will feed off its listeners."
The yet-untitled album is at the moment scheduled for a 2011 release. Further updates to follow.

TARJA TURUNEN Covers WHITESNAKE\'s \'Still Of The Night\'; Multi-Camera Footage Available
 Former NIGHTWISH singer Tarja Turunen performed a special "Classic and Divine" opera rock show with a symphonic orchestra and choir on June 12, 2010 at the Miskolc International Opera Festival at at the Miskolc Ice Hall in Miskolc, Hungary. Tarja's two-hour set included a selection of the best-loved songs from her "My Winter Storm" solo album, classical gems, unpredictable rock covers, tracks from her career with NIGHTWISH, and songs from her upcoming album, "What Lies Beneath". She was accompanied by her own band, a symphonic orchestra and a choir.

SERJ TANKIAN Says Forthcoming Album Represents \'A Whole Different Sound For Me\'
 SYSTEM OF A DOWN frontman Serj Tankian recently spoke to Billboard.com about his forthcoming solo album, "Imperfect Harmonies", which is scheduled for release on September 7 via Serjical Strike/Reprise Records.
"I made rock records for so many years, with SYSTEM OF A DOWN and [2007 solo debut] 'Elect the Dead', and I wanted to create something different for myself," Tankian told Billboard.com. "'Elect the Dead' was more of a straight rock record, done layer by layer. On ['Imperfect Harmonies'] I threw everything at the wall and then started taking things out, which is the first time I've done that. It created a whole different sound for me. It was a good departure."
Tankian told Billboard.com his primary musical goal for "Imperfect Harmonies" was blending organic and electronic elements within the music, and using the orchestra as "a full-fledged band member" rather than just sonic window dressing.
"On a lot of rock records you hear the orchestra in back; it's kind of buried so that the guitars and drums can dominate the frequency," Tankian explained. "I didn't want to do that here. I wanted it to be a fair balance, so my guitars ARE the orchestra in this case. I didn't use a lot of guitars on this record, but I made the orchestra rock. I made them go wild."

Synopsis: Boy Meets Girl - But how deep is the water? For a special song, Beyond The Labyrinth (BTL) dreamed up a special approach... When trying to visualise 'Oceans Apart', a powerfull classic rock ballad, it quickly became obvious that the storyline was right there, in the lyrics of the song. Working out the storyboard for the video clip, it started to lead a life on its own. So, instead of preparing to put it on video, the storyboard was laid out in a comic book format.
The A-HA experience? And that's where people say, 'Aha, like in the A-Ha video clip?' The answer being, "No, not really, actually more like in the PRINCE - 'Sign O' The Times' video." But please read on...
Most images used in the comic book are based on pictures by (BTL singer) Jo De Boeck, an accomplished photographer. After the layout of the book was ready, 2 things happened:
- The comic book was sent of to the printer to be printed in 2 copies (1 original, 1 backup copy) to be used in a live action shot.
- The images, text bubbles etc were exported to seperate files for the compositing in Final Cut.
The action (person reading comic book) happens in real time underneath the text bubbles, it was artifically aged with a special "old movie" filter to give an effect of timelessness, as timeless as the song's subject and the music. On top of that, straight from the computer's hard disk; came the seperate comic strips, treated with a soft focus filter for that "dreamy" effect.
The result is a great looking, original video clip with appeal to a large audience. | 0 | |

CRIMFALL - New Album Nearing Completion; \"Only Some Minor Tweaking And Mastering Left\"
 Finland-based epic folk metallers CRIMFALL check in from the studio with the following update:
"It was 10th of January when we entered into the studio.... now six months later everything is recorded! It has been a looooong journey with some ups and downs but in the end we managed to put up together an excellent album.
I personally want to thank the following people for their performance in our album:
Mikko, Helena, Janne, Miska, Esa, Olli, Henu, Wilska, Ville, Vreth, Mathias, Jani, Terho, Amanda, Jaakko, Petsku, Olli, Ezra, Joonas, Petri, Markus, Sami, Sami, Antti, Tiina, Hanne, Vera, Karoliina.
Now the album is almost finished... only some minor tweaking and mastering left. We will put some video and audio clips on line soonish to give you guys some kind of idea what we have been up to. Thanks for your patience and have a great summer!"

GLORIOR BELLI Working On New Material
 French black metallers GLORIOR BELLI are currently finishing up recording new material in the band’s own studio. First up are two new songs to be used on a pair of split 10-inch and 7-inch singles:
- One song with sludge/black Metal act CREEPING from New Zealand.
- One with the legendary INTEGRITY, to be released later this year via A389 records.
More news will be revealed soon.
As previously reported, the first edition of Italy's new open air festival, Faust Extreme Fest, is scheduled for July 31st - August 1st at Parco di Serravalle in Empoli, Tuscany, Italy.
The first day will be dedicated to death metal and the second to black metal with the very exclusive participation of French masters GLORIOR BELLI.
Acts scheduled to perform include:
July 31st (Mephistophilia Night) - SUBHUMAN, EXHUMER, AURANIGRA, ARCHETYPE, AS LIKELY AS NOT, THE HANGED.

MEGADETH, PANTERA, BULLET FOR MY VALENTINE Featured On \'NHL 11\' Soundtrack
 MEGADETH, PANTERA, AIRBOURNE and BULLET FOR MY VALENTINE are among the bands who are featured on the soundtrack to "NHL 11", an ice hockey (sports) video game for Xbox 360, set for release on September 7, 2010. The game is developed by EA Canada and published by EA Sports.
"This year, it's all about authenticity," says Steve Schnur, Worldwide Executive of Music and Marketing for EA. "We talked to gamers and fans about what kind of music they wanted in this new edition, and they said they wanted the feel of a live NHL experience. \'Darker\' ALTER BRIDGE Album On The Way
 According to The Pulse of Radio, ALTER BRIDGE's yet-to-be-titled third album is scheduled to tentatively arrive in September and will follow up 2007's "Blackbird". Lead singer Myles Kennedy told The Pulse of Radio that fans can expect a "darker" effort this time around. "There is certainly a common thread throughout the, almost the entire record," he said. "It's lyrically a pretty dark album, probably the darkest record I've been a part of. Just a lot of questions personally that I had over the last few years, just things I was struggling with, and it was a very cathartic record for me, just to kind of get that all out. I mean, that's generally the way I personally like to write lyrics, for things that are honest and from the heart."
Although Billboard reported that the band has signed a new deal with Roadrunner Records, that may be for Europe only with the group remaining on the Universal label in the U.S.
ALTER BRIDGE plans to hit the road in October after the album is out, starting with a European tour.
A spring 2011 supporting slot with GODSMACK is planned for next March.
Kennedy is currently touring with Slash as his live lead vocalist, after singing two numbers on the guitarist's debut solo album.
The instrumental members of ALTER BRIDGE are touring this summer in their other band, CREED.

DORNENREICH Issue Flammentriebe Album Update
 Austrian black metallers DORNENREICH have issued the following update in regards to their forthcoming new album, Flammentriebe:
"In a few days we will enter Markus Stock's Studio E to start the recordings for our new album, Flammentriebe. We will stay busy with the elaboration of this very album until the end of the year.
Flammentriebe will contain eight songs which will combine a dramatic black metal fundament with fiercely flaming violins and voices in a unique way.
Multifaceted, passionate and way more grasping than ever before we will express our vision of existential and authentic black metal in the fifteenth year of our existence as Dornenreich.
However, Flammentriebe'might be the last album that we will build on a metal instrumentation."
