MIDNATTSOL To Begin Recording New Album This Month
 German folk metallers MIDNATTSOL, featuring Norwegian vocalist Carmen Elise Espenaes, have
"Hi Folks,
After we have spent lots of time in our new rehearsal room during the last month, the time has come – we will enter the studio!
We can justly claim that we have never worked so intensively on our material and also the work with our new guitarist Alex was like a rejuvenation for us. Thus we are extremely looking forward to record the songs now!
As we had been very satisfied with the recordings of Nordlys at Studio E, we have decided for the third album not only to let the recordings do by such an experienced producer as Markus Stock from Studio E (THE VISION BLEAK, LACRIMAS PROFUNDERE, SECRETS OF THE MOON) but also the mixing and mastering.
The best news is however: the recordings will already begin May 24th 2010 and with a short interruption we will be in the studio until July. Of course we will keep you informed about further information regarding the new album and the release date."

"Today my heart is broken, Ronnie passed away at 7:45 a.m. [on Sunday] 16th May. Many, many friends and family were able to say their private goodbyes before he peacefully passed away.
"Ronnie knew how much he was loved by all.
"We so appreciate the love and support that you have all given us.
"Please give us a few days of privacy to deal with this terrible loss.
"Please know he loved you all and his music will live on forever."

It´s gonna be very heavy and contain all Helloween trademarks! Some songs are very powerful and hymnic, others contain the fastest bass drum patterns our drummer Dani ever played, and this means a lot! I am really excited about the material we brought together and can´t wait to put my bass tracks on those kick ass Metal songs!"

AC/DC Breaks Records In Bulgaria
 AC/DC kicked off the current leg of the "Black Ice" European tour last night (Friday, May 14) at the national stadium Vasil Levski in Sofia, Bulgaria in front of 55,000 people — a record attendance for a single concert in Bulgaria.
According to Novinite.com, a special 75-meter stage was specially constructed for the event in just one week.
The members of AC/DC reportedly arrived in the Bulgarian capital with a "convoy" of 10 trucks with music equipment, 10 sleeping buses, a crew of "100 people and 600 bodyguards."

NEVERMORE will film a video for the song "Emptiness Unobstructed" during the band's May 18, 2010 concert at the O2 Academy Islington in London, England. The clip will be directed by Nigel Crane, who helmed PARADISE LOST's "The Rise Of Denial" video last year for Century Media Records.
NEVERMORE has tapped a "very talented" Hungarian guitar player by the name of Attila Voros to play second guitar on the band's upcoming tour. The group states, "Attila has already performed with Warrel Dane's [NEVERMORE singer] solo project, and realizing how good he is, we decided he would be a perfect addition for the summer festivals we are about to embark on in Europe."
The drum tracks for "The Obsidian Conspiracy" were completed in the group's hometown of Seattle with SOILWORK guitarist Peter Wichers, who previously worked with Dane on the singer's solo debut, "Praises to the War Machine". Longtime friend and collaborator Andy Sneap (MEGADETH, ARCH ENEMY, EXODUS, MACHINE HEAD) once again handled mixing duties. The captivating and dynamic cover art was created by the great Travis Smith (OPETH, KATATONIA) .

CEPHALIC CARNAGE Begins Recording New Album
 Denver, Colorado-based technical death/grind metallers CEPHALIC CARNAGE have begun work on the follow-up to 2007's "Xenosapien" for a fall release via Relapse Records. The as-yet-untitled CD is being recorded at the band's own studio with longtime engineer/producer Dave Otero.
CEPHALIC CARNAGE will take part in this year's Summer Slaughter Tour alongside DECAPITATED, THE FACELESS, ALL SHALL PERISH, THE RED CHORD and more.
CEPHALIC CARNAGE's "Vaporized" video can be viewed below. The clip was helmed by Brian Kotal from fellow Colorado metallers SILENCER.
"Vaporized" comes off CEPHALIC CARNAGE's latest full-length album "Xenosapien", which was released in May 2007 via Relapse Records. The CD was recorded by the band and longtime producer/engineer Dave Otero at their studio in Denver. The album's artwork was designed by Orion Landau.
