VOLBEAT: New Album Release Date Announced
 Danish metal rock 'n' rollers VOLBEAT will release their fourth studio album, "Beyond Hell/Above Heaven", in Germany on September 10 and in most parts of Europe on September 13 by Vertigo/Universal. The CD was once again recorded at Hansen Studios in Ribe, Denmark with producer Jacob Hansen and is currently being mixed.
Commented the band: "We're thrilled to present a handful of European dates — first up is Germany, Belgium, The Netherlands, Switzerland and Austria.
"We're bringing the biggest live production we've ever toured with, a fistful of new songs, a bunch of classics and hunger for some serious 'Halle' action."

SCOTT \'WINO\' WEINRICH Launches PREMONITION 13
 By now, the musical exploits of Scott "Wino" Weinrich are the stuff of legend. THE OBSESSED. SAINT VITUS. SPIRIT CARAVAN. THE HIDDEN HAND. SHRINEBUILDER. After releasing his solo debut in 2009, Wino went acoustic in early 2011 with "Adrift", a gut-wrenchingly personal album written by a man who has survived a lifetime of gut-wrenching scenarios and lived to tell the tales.
Wino's latest project sees him plugged back in — both to his amplifier and the full-band format. Enter PREMONITION 13, a musical entity that finds its genesis in jam sessions dating back two decades, when Wino first met fellow guitarist Jim "Sparky" Karow. "Jim and I have known each other for about 20 years," Wino explains. "His wife was basically the first manager of THE OBSESSED. We played guitars together one day and then we had this really good conversation about magnetism. We realized we had a common love of Mesoamerican stuff and ancient cultures. So we've been jamming together for about 15 or 20 years — just me and him, two guitars, no drums or anything like that."
And so what started as a series of informal jams out at Karow's spread in the high California desert — a place once inhabited by "Brave New World" author and LSD enthusiast Aldous Huxley — eventually became songwriting sessions. After enlisting the talents of OSTINATO drummer Matthew Clark and former MEATJACK bassist Brian Daniloski, they began playing live under the moniker PREMONITION. But a subsequent Internet search turned up quite a few bands with that very name, so Wino proposed a numerical addendum. "13 is one of my favorite numbers," he explains. "It's actually a very positive number, but it's been misconstrued quite a bit throughout history. Friday the 13th is considered bad luck in America, but that's just another fear trip. It's also considered good luck by some esoterically-minded folks because Friday the 13th was the day that Jacques de Molay, the last Grand Master of the Knights Templar, was burned at the stake. As he was being burned, he cursed the pope and the king, and they were both dead within a year."
Recorded at RTX guitarist Brian McKinley's unnamed studio in Costa Mesa, California, PREMONITION 13's debut sees Wino venturing into territories both new and familiar. "The band has two guitarists, first off, which I did for the first time in SHRINEBUILDER just a couple of years ago," he explains. "But I've also found that that there's a little bit of humor in this band. There're some tongue-in-cheek lyrical things; it's not quite as serious as some of the other stuff I've done. But at the same time, it is serious: we make some comments on conspiracy, the negative effects of control, and all the stuff one might protest against."
Musically, Wino cites BLACK SABBATH, KING CRIMSON and his previous conspiracy-minded band THE HIDDEN HAND as reference points for PREMONITION 13. He and Karow also make generous use of the E-Bow, a handheld guitar effect that sustains notes in a battery-powered electromagnetic field. "It's still pretty heavy, but it's definitely a departure from other bands I've been in," Wino offers. "I'm just excited for it to get out there so people can hear it."
PREMONITION 13's debut release a two-song seven-inch is available now in a limited 1000-unit pressing as well as being available digitally. The seven-inch features two songs that will not be on the band's full-length release that is set for release on the Summer Solstice. | 0 | |

SOILWORK Guitarist/Producer Says \'The Panic Broadcast\' Is Best Album Band Has Ever Done
 Swedish metallers SOILWORK will release their new album, "The Panic Broadcast", in Europe on July 2 and in North America on July 13 via Nuclear Blast Records. The CD was mixed at Fascination Street studio in Örebro, Sweden with Jens Bogren (OPETH, KATATONIA, PARADISE LOST, BLOODBATH).
SOILWORK's new album is the first to feature guitarist Peter Wichers since his return to the band in 2008, as well as the studio debut with axeman Sylvain Coudret, who also joined in 2008.

The recording process for "Sworn To A Great Divide" was overseen by Wichers, who recently took a moment to talk about what it was like to produce his own band after working with so many other great artists.
"Producing SOILWORK was great challenge for me but also one of the greatest experiences of my career," he said. "I can honestly say that I've never worked this hard on any record that I've produced, but it was all worth it. I am super-happy with the performances from all the guys, and I don't think SOILWORK has ever sounded this good.
"My approach for this record was to try and keep an open mind to the overall sonic picture without letting my own ego take over (I am a guitar player after all, haha). By doing so, I think everyone on this record got a chance to shine, and that was my main goal.
"I'm super-proud of this record and I know that even if you're an 'old-school' or 'new' listener to SOILWORK, this album has something for both. There are some insane fast and furious songs with insane blast beats, as well as groove. There's also a balance with songs that have some beautiful guitars/vocals and keyboard melodies.
"This is the best album SOILWORK has ever done!"

TIM \'RIPPER\' OWENS Recording Akron Performance For Future Release
 D.X. Ferris of the Cleveland Scene reports that powerhouse vocalist Tim "Ripper" Owens (YNGWIE MALMSTEEN, BEYOND FEAR, ex-JUDAS PRIEST, ICED EARTH) will record a live set on Saturday, May 15 at Akron, Ohio's Tap House (491 E. Waterloo Rd., Firestone Park, 44319) for future release, either as a CD or as bonus tracks on an album. Owens will perform as half of an acoustic duo with former U.S. METAL bandmate Scott Jones playing guitar.
According to the singer, who is an Akron resident, they'll play tunes off his 2009 solo album, "Play My Game", including "Starting Over", "Pick Yourself Up" and "To Live Again", as well as BEYOND FEAR's "Dreams Come True", JUDAS PRIEST's "Lost and Found" and "Diamonds and Rust", plus "a ton of other goodies." He adds, "Get your ass out. It is just so raw, it is real cool."
Fan-filmed video footage of Owens's February 2010 unplugged/acoustic performance at The Tap House in Akron, Ohio can be viewed below.
Owens last summer completed a short European tour as the support act for HEAVEN & HELL. His backing band for the trek consisted of the following musicians:

STAM1NA: \'Rikkipää\' Video Released
 "Rikkipää", the new video from Lemi, Finland-based metallers STAM1NA, can be viewed below. The song comes off the band's fourth full-length album, "Viimeinen Atlantis", which recently entered the official chart in the band's home country at position No. 1. The CD, which was certified gold in Finland for sales in excess of 10,000 copies, was recorded at Astia Studios in Lappeenranta, Finland and was produced by Miitri Aaltonen, who helmed the first two STAM1NA albums.

ARSIS Rejoined By Bassist NOAH MARTIN
 Bassist Noah Martin, who announced his departure from Virginia's melodic/technical death metallers ARSIS in September 2008, has announced his return to the band.
ARSIS was taking part in the "Facemelter Tour" with DYING FETUS, MISERY INDEX, ANNOTATIONS OF AN AUTOPSY and CONDUCTING FROM THE GRAVE when bassist Nathaniel Carter abruptly left the group.
Commented the band in a statement: "So it's true that we have been playing as a three-piece for a few gigs.
"Nat is out, and if you want the real story, come to a show and ask us, because trust [us], that is much more fun and potentially colorful than reading it in an officially sanctioned and sanitized press statement. But this is a problem of very small gravity because WE ARE INEVITABLE and by the time the clock strikes midnight tonight we will be rejoined by our very dear friend and long-missed colleague ... (insert drum roll here) ... The immortal Noah Martin is back in our traveling circle of insanity!
"We will be turning the hell up to 11 in New Mexico tonight!”
Martin added: "Since leaving ARSIS, I've been back in Virginia, finishing up my bachelor's degree. I'm still enrolled in college, so I'm kinda in the same boat as Mike [Van Dyne, drummer] as far as playing live goes.
"It's tough to stay away from what you love and know so well.
"For me, making music with James Malone means listening to obscure '80s metal, staying in seedy hotels, peeing in wrecked trailers, playing with Dutchstep, and singing like King Diamond.
"It feels good to be back in the fold, to make music with my friends. Good times."

TARJA TURUNEN Checks In From The Studio
 Former NIGHTWISH singer Tarja Turunen has finished recording her new solo album, "What Lies Beneath", and is currently overseeing the mixing process at three different locations with three different engineers.
In a posting on her official blog, Turunen writes, "We are making progress every day. Now all the orchestral songs are mixed.
"We worked again with Slamm Andrews at Remote Control Studios. Slamm mixed my last record and it was a pleasure this time to see my 'movie' songs come alive with his guidance!
"Jim Dooley came to say hi and to listen to the final touches for the song 'If You Believe' that he produced with me.
"It feels just unbelievable that after being in the process so long, almost two years, the album is getting ready.
"I have truly won my fears, lack of confidence and belief that I was not going to make it alone. Is great to have succeeded in what I wanted. It feels good I can tell.
"At this moment I am working with Tim Palmer in Austin, Texas. First time I am in Texas! It's lovely here, though — the city of Austin is full of live music everywhere and it's warm, as I like it.
"Tim is great, a very nice man to work with and having the understanding of the artistic needs that I have. He has an extended musical career and has forged tons of hits and great music.
"We already mixed three songs, including a guest solo from the guitar player of an amazing heavy metal band from Los Angeles. Today we are working on another song with an outstanding vocal group from Europe.

CRIMSON GLORY Announces New Lead Vocalist
 Florida-based metallers CRIMSON GLORY have announced Todd La Torre as their new lead vocalist and frontman to lead them into the next era. The decision was made official on April 29, 2010.
Commented lead guitarist Jon Drenning: "We (the band) all sat down and discussed the idea, and all agreed that Todd was a perfect fit. He embodies so many of the qualities that made [late CRIMSON GLORY singer] Midnight such a superb singer/songwriter. In Todd, we have found a healthy, light-hearted, happy-go-lucky character with a winning personality and a true love and passion for what he does and the music he creates. He amazed us from the get-go, and it is the general opinion of the band that, with Todd La Torre, CRIMSON GLORY will sound as good, if not better than ever.
"We, as a band, have had the opportunity to work with some extremely talented singers (Midnight, David Van Landing and Wade Black). Ultimately we agreed that a relatively unknown singer would be beneficial; Todd is a blank canvas in the sense that he doesn't have any other prior musical history that could affect the overall sound that defines CRIMSON GLORY. FLESH MADE SIN Begins Recording New Album
 After several months of writing and pre-production, Dutch black/death thrashers FLESH MADE SIN have entered Aftermath Studios in Kaatsheuvel, Holland with producer Marco Stubbe to begin recording their new album for a late 2010 release.
According to a press release, FLESH MADE SIN "will continue and further evolve their epic darkness invoked by its predecessor, 'The Aftermath Of Amen', which was released June 29, 2009 by Neurotic Records."
Commented guitarist/vocalist Twan van Geel: "FLESH MADE SIN have set sail to descend deeper in the abyssic spheres of blackened metal. We've managed to capture the wickedness and darkened layers which already emerged from 'The Aftermath Of Amen' and gave the color black a leading role as it comes to the overall feel of the new material. The songs breathe like a megalomaniac and provoke all inferior maggots claiming to play the best metal music ever.

Photo Agent Sues MANOWAR\'s Management Company For \'False Imprisonment\', \'Attempted Extortion\'
 Imagine you're an agent representing a photographer who has been hired to do a shoot of a heavy metal band. The company that manages the band wants to meet you in Germany to discuss photos and a "wider collaboration." Do you go?
And oh yeah, the guy you're meeting looks like the one in the picture to the right.
Yasha Young said yes. And what allegedly happened next formed the basis for another lawsuit-of-the-year contender.
We dare you not to chuckle when reading the details of this $5 million lawsuit filed in New York Supreme Court.
Young says she represents Annie Bertram, who was contracted by Magic Circle Films, a music management company that the complaint indicates is run by "Joey de Majo." (We think the plaintiff means metal band Manowar bassist Joey DeMaio but we're not 100% sure).
Young says when she arrived in Germany, she was met by Joey's "bodyguard," who ushered her into a taxi that took her to a "seedy, out-of-the-way hotel." Another "bodyguard" brought her to a room and the original "bodyguard" was told to leave. There, she claims she was told she owed the company $25,000 and was instructed to write a check on the spot.
When she asked why she owed money, she allegedly was told that the photos of the band had been posted on the website of a make-up artist. A big no-no in the heavy metal world, apparently.
We'll have to quote the exact language from the complaint for the next part because we can't improve it in any way:
"She was told that once she wrote the check she would be free to leave and that, if she left without making the demanded payment, things would get 'super bad' for Plaintiff. She was also told that she had two options: to either write a check for $25,000.00 and 'make it all go away,' or to be personally sued 'like you have never been sued before,' in which event de Majo said that he would make sure that Plaintiff would 'never be happy again.'"
What was running through Young's head at this moment? Personal safety? Of course.
But the complaint alleging false imprisonment says she was "terrified by the threat of a meritless lawsuit seeking to hold her responsible for acts that she had not performed" and so she "ran out of the hotel room, terrified that she would be physically or economically harmed."
Has anyone ever run out of a hotel room terrified of economic harm? The lawsuit goes on to say that the defendant's threat of a defamation lawsuit was completely frivolous. That might be true. But if a lawyer decided to write a screenplay that replaced gangsters with heavy metal musicians, this is probably what it would look like.

OSI Signs With METAL BLADE RECORDS
 OSI (OFFICE OF STRATEGIC INFLUENCE), the hard rock duo formed by Jim Matheos (FATES WARNING) and Kevin Moore (CHROMA KEY, DREAM THEATER), has inked a deal with Metal Blade Records. The band is currently working on its fourth album for a late 2010 release.

FORBIDDEN: New Album Update
 Reactivated San Francisco Bay Area thrashers FORBIDDEN are continuing work on their new album, "Omega Wave", at Sonic Room/Audio Voyage Studios in Livermore, California. The CD artwork has been commissioned from Kent Mathieu (FORBIDDEN, EXODUS, AUTOPSY, EXHORDER). The album is being produced by FORBIDDEN guitarist / songwriter Craig Locicero and Tim Narducci. All tracks will be mixed by Sean Beavan (SLAYER, MARILYN MANSON, NINE INCH NAILS).
FORBIDDEN guitarist Steve Smyth has offered the following commentary on some of the songs that will appear on the upcoming CD:
"Swine": "'Swine' is a little different from the rest of the tracks to me, a little more on the 'doomy' side of things, but it has more than a few surprises in there. I'm not going to give away too much here… you'll have to wait for it!
"'Swine' has some cool odd-time stuff at the intro, FORBIDDEN style, and well-arranged by Craig [Locicero] and Mark [Hernandez]!
"I sort of created the intro riff for this song by accident. Craig and I were jamming on some of the other songs one day, and I just happened to be noodling on something, not really thinking about anything, and he looked at me, and said, 'What's that?! Play that again!' I played it again, and we turned this from something completely unconscious on my part into the intro of the song pretty quickly! Mark and Craig brought some odd-time and arrangement ideas into it from there, and the rest of the song came right into it. Awesome! I'm a huge fan of things happening like that. The riff I'm talking about has the influence of Randy Rhoads and SABBATH in it, no doubt from my years of playing a lot of that stuff in my OZZY/SAB tribute 'Sweet Leaf'. A very dark, eerie-sounding (I hope!) arpeggiated pattern that has a moving bass line underneath it as well.
"Behind The Mask": "This one starts off heavy and moody, and does not let up for a long time! Very heavy pounding metal with a lot of peaks and valleys, as well as a killer chorus that Craig came up with for this one, which absolutely is heavy as hell, and jumps around the beat; a little tricky, but grooves like a mofo!
"Again, I don't want to give away the farm on this one, but there's some really cool stuff I came up with in the bridge that I hope you'll all dig on; lots of melody in this section, and not the type of instrument or style I think was ever heard on a FORBIDDEN record, but rest assured, I kept it heavy!"

IMMORTAL To Release \'The Seventh Date Of Blashyrkh\' Concert DVD
 Norwegian black metallers IMMORTAL will release a concert DVD, "The Seventh Date Of Blashyrkh", this summer via Nuclear Blast. The disc will include professionally filmed video footage of the band's headlining performance at the 2007 edition of the Wacken Open Air festival, which was held August 2-4, 2007 in Wacken, Germany.

NECRODEATH: \'Mater Tenebrarum\' Video Released
 "Mater Tenebrarum", the new video from long-running Italian extreme metallers NECRODEATH, can be viewed below. The song comes off the band's 25th-anniversary covers album, entitled "Old Skull". The CD, which was released on February 5, features guest appearances by members of influential Italian thrashers BULLDOZER and former members of SCHIZO.
"Old Skull" was recorded at Quake Sound Studios in Rapallo (Ge) and was produced by the bandmembers themselves. It was mixed by Giuseppe Orlando at Outer Sound Studios in Rome and was mastered by Simone Mularoni at Fear Studios in Ravenna. The cover artwork was created by Davide Nadalin and Nerve Design.

CROCELL: New Song Posted Online
 CROCELL, winner of the "Metal Talent" category at Danish Metal Awards 2008, is putting the finishing touches on the follow-up to the band's debut album, "The God We Drowned".
A rough-mix version of one new song, "I Know The Taste Of Your Tears", is available for streaming on the band's MySpace page. Other songtitles set to appear on the CD include "In The Age Of Iron And Rust", "Thieves, Whores And Heretics", "The Stranger", and "After The Take Of Winter".
CROCELL has yet to announce a label home for the upcoming effort.
CROCELL's video for "Behind The Veil", the opening track from "The God We Drowned", was shot at Filmbyen in Aarhus, Denmark by Anton Iversen (guitar player in AVARICE) with assistance from Poul Iversen.

TRISTANIA: New Album Title, Track Listing Revealed
 Norwegian gothic metallers TRISTANIA have set "Rubicon" as the title of their sixth album, due later in the year via Austria's Napalm Records.
Commented the band: "We think the result has turned out amazing, and we're extremely eager to get this album released. The photo shoot has already taken place in the Angst-im-Wald studio in Germany, and the only thing which isn't finished yet is the artwork design."

SKINLAB Rejoined By Guitarist MIKE ROBERTS
 San Francisco Bay Area metallers SKINLAB have parted ways with guitarist Brian Jackson (of the Las Vegas band KREEP) and have been rejoined by Mike Roberts.
Commented bassist/vocalist Steev Esquivel: "Mike . . has been hard at work learning new material as well as some oldies that we haven't busted out since Mike's departure in '98.
"Needless to say we are all totally stoked to have Mike back. He was such a huge part of the SKINLAB sound and is sure to re-establish is style again as we start writing for the next SKINLAB album this summer.
"As far as touring plans, we have select shows that we've been putting together in the U.S., a couple festivals in Europe this summer and will be heading over to South America for a few shows as well.
"Since Mike's return the last few weeks we have gotten tons of support from our friends and peers; everyone seems as excited as us.
"Who knows what the future holds?! We'll see!!!"

SKID ROW Parts Ways With Drummer, Announces Replacement
 SKID ROW has parted ways with drummer Dave Gara and has replaced him with Atlanta native Rob Hammersmith.
Commented SKID ROW singer Johnny Solinger: "We wish Davee all the best for the future and we are very excited to begin working with Rob." Guitarist Dave "Snake" Sabo added, "Let's put it this way: We gave him (Rob) a lot of songs to learn and not much time to learn them, but he came through like a champ."
Rob spent many years touring and recording with Atlanta-based rockers ROCKETS TO RUIN and has performed with GUNFIRE 76, the band featuring MURDERDOLLS frontman Wednesday 13.
When asked about his new gig, Hammersmith stated, "Having always been a fan, it is an honor to be asked to join the band. The band's music and history holds a special place in both my life, and the lives of so many loyal fans. To be a part of that history is the chance of a lifetime."

METALLICA's Two Auckland Concerts Sell Out In 20 Minutes
 New Zealand's Stuff.co.nz reports: Tickets to METALLICA's two Auckland shows sold out in just 20 minutes [Thursday] morning [May 13], leaving some angry fans empty-handed.
The tickets went on sale at 9 a.m. and promoters for the two shows, on October 13 and 14 at Vector Arena, said they were sold out by 9:20 a.m.
Stuff.co.nz was swamped with feedback by irate fans who tried to buy them over the internet, but couldn't get through.
"I was on the website from 8.50am and nothing. Both pre-sales failed and sure enough no 25th birthday for me. It was going to be the best start to my honeymoon too," said a poster called Chris.
"Once again, the Ticketmaster website is unstable and not up to modern day needs," said another poster called Mark.
Mark Prado of ContraCostaTimes.com reports: The controversy prompted by a fence erected by Marin rocker James Hetfield is not quite over, but this time it has nothing to do with the METALLICA frontman.
The heavy-metal star put up a fence in 2008 to keep people from hiking and riding past it after some people trashed his land. The fence effectively cut off the popular Luiz Ranch Fire Trail in the Terra Linda-Sleepy Hollow Divide open space preserve.
But the county has planned a new path around the Hetfield land — provisionally named the "680 Trail" — for the elevation of the 2.9-mile path.

STONE SOUR In the Studio; Fifth Video Blog Posted
 STONE SOUR, currently recording their follow-up to 2006's Come What(ever) May at Blackbird Studios in Nashville, TN, are offering confessional-style updates from inside the studio.

BLACK LABEL SOCIETY\'s New Album To Be Made Available With Four Different Covers
 BLACK LABEL SOCIETY will release its new studio album, "Order Of The Black", in North America on August 10 via E1 Music. The CD will be made available in Europe through Roadrunner Records and in Australia and New Zealand via Riot! Entertainment.

LIMP BIZKIT: \'Gold Cobra\' Artwork Unveiled
 The cover artwork for "Gold Cobra", the forthcoming album from the reactivated original lineup of LIMP BIZKIT, can be viewed here. The CD is tentatively scheduled for release this summer.
Regarding the new CD's musical direction, LIMP BIZKIT frontman Fred Durst recently told MTV News, "I think that, in a nutshell, we came in staying true to ourselves and doing what we do. ... We make heavy music that has rapping in it. We're a rap-core band. Through the years, it felt natural to try and explore and grow beyond that, and inevitably, it led us in different directions. And what our coming back together represents is us having figured out that, you know, evolution is great, but we need to do what we do.
"And this new album, this is what we do. The evolution has brought us full-circle," Durst continued. "We're LIMP BIZKIT. And if you didn't like it before, you're not going to like it now. If you don't want to hear a band that plays super-heavy grooves, with an MC rapping over it, then you shouldn't listen to LIMP BIZKIT."
On the topic of the new song "Douchebag", Durst said, "A song like 'Douchebag', to me, it's about ... I was really pushed around and bullied a lot growing up ... so having that torture in my life, until forming LIMP BIZKIT, and still having it against me in LIMP BIZKIT, but me at least having a voice, a way to fight back and release my aggression through the music. I've always had a problem with the irony that came with LIMP BIZKIT's music fueling bullies, when really, my aggression and my pent-up anger is mainly focused at these bullies. So I'm mainly calling those people douche bags, and a few other select individuals. ... Everybody has their own interpretation, and you will have a douche bag in your life that this song will apply to, and you just turn this fucker up really loud, because the riff is out of control."

"Gold Cobra" is expected to feature guest appearances by a host of hip-hop artists, including WU-TANG CLAN rapper Raekwon, Paul Wall and WU-TANG CLAN producer Mathematics.
In a January 2010 interview with Guitar Edge's Elliott Politte, Wes Borland stated about "Gold Cobra", "I think that everyone who hated LIMP BIZKIT before will continue to hate LIMP BIZKIT. It's not like we, all of a sudden, grew up and started making smarter music. It's definitely a fun, party kind of vibe. It's a little bit like the old stuff, but with a little bit of maybe a [French electronic music duo] DAFT PUNK vibe thrown in on some of it. There's big, huge riffs and hopefully catchy lyrics."
"Gold Cobra" will be LIMP BIZKIT's first new studio album with the original lineup since 2000's "Chocolate Starfish and the Hot Dog Flavored Water".
LIMP BIZKIT performed the song "Take A Look Around" on this past Monday night's (May 10) edition of "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno" on NBC-TV.
The band's first three albums have sold more than 20 million copies in the U.S. alone, and another 13 million in the rest of the world.

BELPHEGOR To Enter Studio In June
 Austrian blackened death metal outfit BELPHEGOR will enter Abyss Studios in Pärbly, Sweden on June 19 with producer Peter Tägtgren (IMMORTAL, CELTIC FROST, HYPOCRISY, DIMMU BORGIR) to begin recording the band's as-yet-untitled new album for an early 2011 release via Nuclear Blast Records.
Commented BELPHEGOR mainman Helmuth: "A new challenge. We're high on fire and totally motivated.
"I'm stoked to work together with a dude that needs no instruction, an excellent musician/ producer. I'm sure that Peter will create a massive soundwall for our ninth longplayer.
"We are absolutely focused on the new album. That's the only reason why we play only a few open-airs this summer.
"The masterplan is to record again in 4-5 sessions 'till middle of September. Once again letting the tracks slowly take form, with the songwriting and production reaching a new level of intensity."

Bass shredder Serpenth stated: "On Friday we will start the fifth rehearsal session — day 24 — for the upcoming album, which lasts 'till Tuesday. We will fine-tune eight compositions out of nine. It's going to be an epic — brachial BELPHEGOR album, more shredding, more magick, more of everything."
"Walpurgis Rites - Hexenwahn", the eighth full-length studio album from BELPHEGOR, entered the official chart in the band's home country at position No. 60 and in Germany at No. 99. The follow-up to 2008's "Bondage Goat Zombie" was recorded at Andy Classen's (LEGION OF THE DAMNED, DEW-SCENTED, NEAERA, ASPHYX) Stage One Studios in Kassel, Germany.

DESTRUCTION, KREATOR, DORO Members Lend Their Voices To German Version Of \'Metalocalypse\'
 KREATOR's Miland "Mille" Petrozza, DESTRUCTION's Marcel "Schmier" Schirmer, Doro Pesch and KNORKATOR's Alf Ator have lent their voices to the German version of "Metalocalypse", the animated program about DETHKLOK, the world's most popular death metal band, which airs in the U.S. on Cartoon Network's Adult Swim.
The German TV premiere "Metalocalypse" will take place on June 29 on the TNT network. The program air every Tuesday and Saturday night on the Sky Channel.

Confirmed: CORROSION OF CONFORMITY\'s \'Animosity\' Lineup Reunited
 BLABBERMOUTH.NET has received confirmation that the classic "Animosity" lineup of CORROSION OF CONFORMITY — Mike Dean (bass, vocals), Woody Weatherman (guitar) and Reed Mullin (drums) — has reformed and is working on a new album. There are even some early-August shows lined up for the West Coast already, although they have not yet been officially announced.
Mike and Reed were most recently members of RIGHTEOUS FOOL, which also featured guitarist Jason Browning (from HR of BAD BRAINS' solo band). That group will apparently stay together and will coexist with the newly reformed CORROSION OF CONFORMITY. | 0 | |
