THE NEW ROSES Release “What If It Was You” Lyric Video
The song “What If It Was You“ was written exactly one year ago by the German rock band The New Roses, but has never been more up to date than today.
On the night of the attacks in Paris, The New Roses stood at the Swiss/French border in Switzerland in order to cross into France for their French/Spanish tour. The authorities informed the band about the events in Paris. The young band spent the entire night at the checkpoint and, at daybreak, came to the conclusion that they had no other option, but to cancel their tour for two reasons.
The first reason was out of respect and consideration for the French nation and their own despair, and the second reason was for logistical reasons (they would have to cross from France to Spain, but the borders were also closed there). One of the dates on their tour included a performance at the Bataclan on December 8th. The next day, the band received a bloodcurdling e-mail from the Parisian promoter telling them that he lost many friends and colleagues during the night of the attacks.
Portraying the thoughts and vision of front man Timmy Rough, “What If It Was You” works deep through the feelings of loss. The New Roses commend all humans around the world who are concerned about war and terror.
