MÖTLEY CRÜE's TOMMY LEE Drops Two New Solo Singles, 'Knock Me Down' And 'Tops'

In conversation with Tommy Lee about his new music, his abject joy over his new album, "Andro", is infectious. The mastermind behind this compelling collection of songs has conquered TikTok amassing 560,000 followers in the past couple of months, while growing his Instagram audience to over one million during quarantine — an audience that eagerly awaits his new opus.

Lee has had a mega-popular Netflix film ("The Dirt"), starred in and produced three network TV shows ("Tommy Lee Goes To College", "Rockstar: Supernova", "Battleground Earth: Ludacris Vs Tommy Lee"), had a New York Times bestseller ("Tommyland") and has appeared on scripted and interview TV shows — most recently, a hilarious appearance as a professor on ABC's "The Goldbergs".

The longtime MÖTLEY CRÜE drummer has just spent the last two years writing and recording his new album and it is about to challenge virtually everything you thought you knew about him and his musical proclivities. True, he hinted at some of the complexity behind the chaos, when he formed METHODS OF MAYHEM and when he toured with Skrillex, Zedd and Deadmaus, but Lee's new set of tracks seem to truly represent the music that's he was meant to make — and that definitively reveals the depth and range of his musical fascinations. They also represent the male and female sides of music — equally important and equally powerful, thus the name of the album, "Andro". Androgyny is a combination of the essences of male and female genders and the album is the manifestation of the concept.

The passion is evident right from the start of "Andro" (out October 16), as the album opens with the first of his two singles "Knock Me Down", a paint-stripping industrial-metal stormer (as close as "Andro" gets to what Lee is best known for) featuring the up-and-coming rapper Killvein, who gives a scorching performance. "I heard his shit on the Internet," Lee recalls, "and I thought, this dude is badass, 'Knock Me Down' had his name all over it. He raps like a beast, is super-talented, and actually says something. He's gonna blow up."

Another singularly fierce pairing on the second of his two singles is with female South African rapper Push Push, who raps like lightning in her unique accent over a cool Afrobeat groove on "Tops". She comes off as someone who you probably don't want to cross. "She's a total troublemaker," Lee jokes, "a maniac!" With a powerful singing voice that takes listeners by pleasant surprise in between her staccato raps, Push Push has a down-to-earth attitude and the talents to deliver on her enthusiasm for experimental, barrier-breaking projects. Push Push has worked on a recent PUSSY RIOT single and has performed alongside the likes of Peanut Butter Wolf and Ryan Hemsworth. Her tracks have been featured on Comedy Central's "Broad City"

Both artists' videos were directed by Lee's longtime friend Fred Durst (LIMP BIZKIT). As alike as the sets are for the videos, that is how different, sonically, both songs are.

"Working with Tommy was an incredible opportunity," says Push Push. "He made sure that I was in a comfortable space, free to express myself fully and without limits. The video shoot was a dream come true. I felt empowered to show all my true colors without judgement. Honestly, that team could've made anyone feel like a star."

"It was great working with Tommy! It's crazy because I grew up listening to MÖTLEY CRÜE so I never imagined I'd end up working with Tommy fucking Lee," enthuses Killvein. "I was surprised he'd even heard of me but that's all thanks to our mutual friend, Danny Lohner. Danny showed Tommy my music last year and that's when Tommy sent me the beat. I recorded half the song in my garage in Sacramento and the other half in his studio in Calabasas. I was like a kid in a candy shop in there — he has everything. The video shoot was surreal. Getting to work with both Tommy and Fred Durst on that was a dream."

Other features on the record include a Prince cover from Lukas Rossi (ROCKSTAR SUPERNOVA), Josh Todd (BUCKCHERRY), Brooke Candy and Mickey Avalon. A pre-order also launches today and includes an exclusive autographed pink and blue vinyl.

NEUROSIS's STEVE VON TILL Releases New Single 'Shadows On The Run'

Steve Von Till swan-dives into the darkness of modern life with a sonic document of rural psychedelia that transcends the physical world—towards a greater spiritual acceptance that connects naturalism, spiritualism, and the corporeal form. As uncertainty abounds, Von Till's forthcoming album, "No Wilderness Deep Enough", and debut book, "Harvestman: 23 Untitled Poems And Collected Lyrics", provide a voice of existential wisdom and experience to offer comfort and perspective in an era of uncharted territory. Today, he has shared the album's ethereal second single, "Shadows On The Run".

"Harvestman: 23 Untitled Poems And Collected Lyrics" is a collection of new poetry and lyrics from Von Till's solo career over the past 20 years. It's a work of rich text that showcases his deeply felt ruminations on the myriad beginnings and endings of life itself, offering another medium of which to experience his singular artistic perspective.

Von Till's charted an extraordinary musical path over the last several decades, from his main duties as singer and guitarist of the boundary-breaking NEUROSIS, to the psychedelic music of his HARVESTMAN project and the unique folk songs he's released under his own name. But "No Wilderness Deep Enough" is truly like nothing you've ever heard from him before — an album that's devastatingly beautiful and overwhelming in its scope, reminiscent of the tragic ecstasy of NICK CAVE AND THE BAD SEEDS' recent work as well as the borderless ambient music pioneered by Brian Eno, late composer Jóhann Jóhannsson's glacial compositions, and the electronic mutations of COIL.

With a foundation of simple melancholy piano chord progressions that came to fruition during jetlagged nights in his wife's childhood home in Germany, "No Wilderness Deep Enough" was further embellished with mellotron and electronic treatments in Von Till's home studio in North Idaho. Viewing the emerging result as an ambient instrumental album, he consulted friend and engineer Randall Dunn (MARISSA NADLER, EARTH) about adding live cello and french horn and piano in a proper studio. After enlisting Brent Arnold on cello and Aaron Korn on french horn, he challenged Von Till to sing over the music and make it his next solo album — which is exactly what happened, with final work being completed at Tucker Martine's (THE DECEMBERISTS, NEKO CASE) Flora Recording And Playback in Portland.

Lyrically, "No Wilderness Deep Enough" touches on themes essential to living in the world around us, as well as co-existing with ourselves and others. "It's about personal longings and loss, and the loves and insecurities we all feel combined with meditations on humanity as a whole," Von Till explains while discussing his main artistic aims behind the album, as well as his poetic expressions captured in "Harvestman". "I'm exploring the great disconnect: from the natural world, from each other, and ultimately from ourselves — trying to find meaning and depth in re-establishing those connections, to find a resonance in purpose and acknowledging the past while looking towards the future and still being in the moment."

With "No Wilderness Deep Enough" and "Harvestman", Von Till has achieved a sense of mass resonance through his restless artistic exploration — providing art that journeys into the heart of fear and uncertainty in a world where we've often known little else. He swan-dives into the darkness of modern life, with the resulting emergence a sonic document of rural psychedelia that transcends the physical world — towards a greater spiritual acceptance that connects naturalism, spiritualism, and the corporeal form.

"No Wilderness Deep Enough" and "Harvestman: 23 Untitled Poems And Collected Lyrics" arrive on August 7 via Neurot Recordings.

"No Wilderness Deep Enough" track listing:

01. Dreams Of Trees

02. The Old Straight Track

03. Indifferent Eyes

04. Trail The Silent Hours

05. Shadows On The Run

06. Wild Iron

WARKINGS To Release Revenge Album In July; "Warriors" Music Video Streaming

"We ride the thunder, lightning is our sword, the blaze across the Eastern sky, keepers of the call - Forevermore."

Warkings Warriors... prepare yourself! A new crusade arises with the mighty Warkings and their new album Revenge, to be released via Napalm Records on July 31.The band enters the battleground and faces ghoulish demons with the formidable weapon made of pure heavy metal. The four ancient kings, a roman Tribune, a wild Viking, a noble Crusader and a martial Spartan, gathered in the halls of Valhalla, escape from the realms of obscurity and steal their souls from the Lord of the Abyss. In a bloodthirsty furor, the demons seek revenge on the Warkings but Odin’s legates are more than ready to vanquish the Monarchs of the dusk with their hard-hitting anthems. Folklore-like elements like the opener “Freedom”, the death angel’s chant “Azrael” or the epic hymn “Warriors” prove the Warkings’ uncompromising vigor.

In order to sweeten the wait for Revenge, the Warkings present their first single, “Warriors”, today. This battle hymn is made of pure heavy metal: straight forward riffs, sing-along lyrics and attacking drums pay tribute to the Order of the Dragon, including their most known member Vlad “Dracula” Tepes! Accompanied by a fast-paced official video, featuring a beautiful scenery and the epic story of a battle well-fought, this track will sweep you off your feet.

The Tribune on “Warriors”: “Hell wants revenge... so we will fight fire with fire. We forged an alliance with the order of the dragon and the infamous Vlad Tepes.”

Watch the official video for “Warriors”  below.

Warkings - Revenge: Once, there were four ancient kings who gathered in the golden halls of Valhalla, a roman Tribune, a wild Viking, a noble Crusader and a martial Spartan. They were sent back to the living by the allfather himself to tell the stories of the epic battles they fought. It turned out to be a great time for the Warkings, striking the world with their battle hymns. Keen of new adventures they made their way through the land of the living. But as the fame of the four kings rose, the envy and hate of the Underworld grew. When the four kings escaped from the realms of darkness, they stole their souls from the lords of the Underworld. In rage, bloodthirsty demons and warriors swarmed out to retrieve what belonged to them, seeking for revenge on those who betrayed them. But the kings strike back. Leading the constantly growing legion of their Warkings Warriors, they will enter the eternal fight against the darkness. Armed with new hymns and with a mighty battle cry, they will put themselves against the forces of the underworld. Hell wants revenge...and the Warkings are ready for battle.

The Crusader on Revenge: “We are back to crush the armies of the underworld with steel and battle axe. Join us…we need you battle cry!!!”

Revenge will be available in the following formats:

- Digital album

SOILWORK Drummer BASTIAN THUSGAARD Featured In "Death Diviner" Playthrough Video

Swedish visionary metallers Soilwork recently released a brand new song called "Death Diviner". It is the last installment in the band's 'Feverish' triology and  follows the band's globally acclaimed new album, Verklighetenm, which was released in January 2019.

Today, Soilwork drummer Bastian Thusgaard present you a new playthrough video for this song that you can watch below.

Bastian on the video:

"Shout out to our fans for yet another warm response to our Feverish Trinity songs. 'Death Diviner' marks the last one in this entity and it’s safe to say that we look so much forward to playing this song live once we can go on the road again."

Commented the band: "'Death Diviner' is the final instalment in the Feverish trilogy, the end of the path that Feverish and Desperado set us upon. The overall theme of these three songs is an attempt to describe the otherworldy, the emotions your body can’t contain and the desperate measures you take when you feel that there is something out there calling for you, something much bigger than you, but you know that if you could reach it, talk to it, you’d feel a sense of belonging for the first time in your life. Because that’s what we all miss, isn’t it? We all want to belong somewhere, but it never feels right. You always have that itch, that slightly uncomfortable feeling that you could be so much more, if you’d only been somewhere else, with a soulmate who knew everything you’d been through, and never judged any of your actions because it was the only thing you could do at that time. 'Death Diviner' doesn’t provide the answers. The Feverish Trilogy doesn’t provide the answers. But they provide a 'What if?' that might change your life."

Order "Death Diviner" here.

Symphonic metal masters KAMELOT return with their newest offering, "I Am The Empire - Live From The 013", to be released on August 14 via Napalm Records.

The majestic live album, DVD and Blu-ray, recorded at the legendary 013 in Tilburg, Netherlands, consists of 21 songs that will tug on your heartstrings, make you want to bang your head and give you a taste of KAMELOT's grandness live on stage with more than 100 minutes of live music and multiple exclusive extras, including backstage interviews of all guests, bandmembers and fans.

Today, KAMELOT has released the live video of its performance of "Sacrimony (Angel Of Afterlife)" — featuring Alissa White-Gluz (ARCH ENEMY) and Elize Ryd (AMARANTHE) — taken from the "Silverthorn" album (2012), which marked one of the many highlights of this night to remember for all attending fans and musicians. The hit single starts off with adventurous first notes and ominous vocal lines, evoking the palpable, non-stop energy to come. This auditory epic soars to new heights in its live incarnation.

KAMELOT frontman Tommy Karevik on "Sacrimony (Angel Of Afterlife)": "We can now proudly announce that the first video to be released from the show will be 'Sacrimony (Angel Of Afterlife)'. The song marks the beginning of a new era as it was one of the main songs on 'Silverthorn', the first KAMELOT album with me as the singer. Enjoy!"

September 14, 2018 marked one of the highlights of KAMELOT's very successful career. The band led by guitarist Thomas Youngblood, known for its high-class collaborations, invited the creme de la creme of the symphonic metal scene to celebrate that evening in Tilburg. Featured guest musicians like White-Gluz, Ryd, Charlotte Wessels (DELAIN) and Lauren Hart (ONCE HUMAN) — just to name a few — made this evening in Tilburg an unforgettable night to remember for every fan and musician in attendance.

This concert setlist features KAMELOT in prime shape — with a hand-picked mixture of KAMELOT classics and live premieres, rounded off by stunning production and mixed and mastered by Sascha Paeth (AVANTASIA, EPICA).

Youngblood comments: "We are pleased beyond words to present our new live album/DVD/Blu-ray 'I Am The Empire - Live From The 013'. After multiple sold-out events in The Netherlands, it was only fitting to film this event at Tilburg's famed 013 venue. The icing on the cake was having all the special guests attend this historic night. It was truly divine."

White-Gluz says: "It was a magical evening that night. It was so much fun to play such a nice long set with a packed house of fans who knew every word to every song alongside my KAM fam and girlfriends!"

Ryd comments: "It was an historical moment for me to take part in this KAMELOT live DVD recording. Let's not forget that it was with KAMELOT I began my touring life, and we toured a lot. I am so happy to finally be able to perpetuate the era of hard work and friendship with such great quality. A huge thanks to the entire KAMELOT family for embracing my presence on this very special evening."

Wessels adds: "It was an absolute delight performing 'Under Grey Skies' with KAMELOT live in 013 during their special night. It felt like a big family gathering. Thank you for including me. I am sure that this DVD will be a wonderful memento for Kamfans worldwide!"

POWERMAN 5000 Releases New Single 'Black Lipstick' From Forthcoming 'The Noble Rot' Album

Two months ago, industrial metal veterans POWERMAN 5000 announced they were readying a new album for 2020, "The Noble Rot", and now the band is ready to share the very first single from that LP, the goth club-inspired "Black Lipstick". The song is a loving homage to dark 1980s music like DEPECHE MODE, THE CURE and SIOUXSIE SIOUX, heavy on atmosphere and bass with frontman Spider One sneering melodically of a fly-by-night romantic encounter. A stylistic departure to be sure, but POWERMAN 5000 has always been an adventurous band.

Spider shares: "I believe this was the first song we wrote for the album. It kind of laid the groundwork for the sound of the whole record. Kind of more experimental and electronic than the previous one. I think I may have been trying to channel Peter Murphy with the vocals."

In addition, the band has shot a comical, hugely entertaining full concept video (pre-social distancing) for the song that captures the vibe of late-night music TV programming, complete with wacky host (played by John Ennis of "Mr. Show" and "With Bob & David" fame) and overworked smoke machines. As Spider explains it: "I had been watching a lot of clips from the British music show 'Top Of The Pops' and decided that creating a fake music show called 'Pop Toppers' would be a pretty fun idea for a music video. Though just having POWERMAN 5000 performing the song seemed a bit whatever. That's when I dreamed up the fictitious female goth band HOLLY HOLLY AND THE NIGHT CLOAKS. Having this SIOUXSIE & THE BANSHEES-type band lip sync our song was hilarious and matched the dark wave tone of the song perfectly."

Watch the video below.

"The Noble Rot" will be available everywhere August 28 on digital, CD and vinyl.

Track listing:

01. Cannibal Killers That Kill Everyone

02. Brave New World

03. Play God Or Play Dead

04. Black Lipstick

05. Special Effects

06. Let The Insects Rule

07. Movie Blood

08. Strange People Doing Strange Things

09. We Got The Beat

10. VHS

Last month, POWERMAN 5000 released its reimagining of the classic '80s new wave smash "We Got The Beat". "We Got The Beat" was originally released in 1981 as part of THE GO-GO'S' multi-platinum debut album "Beauty And The Beat".

POWERMAN 5000's latest album, "New Wave", was released in October 2017 via Pavement Entertainment.

Last year, POWERMAN 5000 celebrated the 20th anniversary of its most successful album, "Tonight The Stars Revolt!", by embarking on a U.S. tour.

DOOM ‘AN BLUE Release “Wicked Serotonin” Video

Dynamic duo Doom ‘An Blue are back with another lively music video, this time inviting collaborators to make the track “Wicked Serotonin” with vocals and bass. The recording and production on the video have taken over a year and they are pumped to finally be dropping it.

On this track, Lee Whiskey (guitar) and Jimmy Antle (drums) are joined by long time collaborators Dan Matheson on bass and Jesse James Dimitri belting it out on the mic formulating a familiar groovy song but yet, still miles aways from previous work done with others. Always driving to push the limits of themselves, Doom An’ Blue has this to say about the upcoming song:

“This may be the second or third song we ever wrote. Everything came together extremely easy, like too easy! Wicked Serotonin has always been the song we needed to practice the least because it was ingrained in our thick skulls from day one. The idea behind the video was a collaboration between us, Jesse, Dan, and Cintia. We wanted it to follow the last video and be a continuation of the story/our journey and as well, tell its own story. On the day we shot it, the concept was still quite vague but came together really fast the more we got shooting. The concept is roughly Lee and I (Jimmy), meeting with two strangers, all coming from a shitty place, and turning it around. Other aspects of the video set up the premise for the next single/video!”

With a well-received first single, “Two-Bit Son of a Bitch” (2019) under their belts, Doom ‘An Blue brings forth a truly eclectic blend of all rock styles that are further expanded with the individual styles of the many musicians they collaborate with.

“Wicked Serotonin” with guest vocals by Jesse James Dimitri and bass from Dan Matheson is streaming below:

RAHWAY Premiere Self-Quarantining Music Video "Sugar"

With almost every state beginning to loosen their lockdown and self-quarantine restrictions, New Jersey hard rockers Rahway have released a new music video to remind everyone that they weren’t alone during the self-quarantine process and that “we were all in this together.”

Rahway, also known as the Slumlords of NJ (coincidentally, name of the band’s upcoming EP), released a music video for their ballad “Sugar”. The video depicts members of the band performing the song from the privacy of their own homes Zoom-style, while musician friends, family and fans chime in during the chorus of the song, also filmed like a Zoom meeting.

The video features a wide range of cameos from Don Jamieson of That Metal Show to PJ Farley from Trixter and RA to John Kosco from Dropbox, Saint Caine and Revel at Dusk to local musician friends like members of the band Scarlet Carson, Ten Ton Mojo, Sixty Miles Down, Faith Or Fear, Negative Sky and Disciples of Verity to radio personalities like Danielle Monaro from Elvis Duran and the Morning Show, Greg T from the WKTU Morning Show and Sean Patrick and Matt Murray from WMGM in Atlantic City.

Rahway bassist Chigger says, “'Sugar' wasn’t our first choice for our first single off the new EP, but we collectively knew it was the right choice. It allowed us to be creative and exhibit that we were all in this together, self-quarantining during this horrible pandemic. Plus, it has a hook that you will be singing for the next few days! Don’t blame us!”

THOMAS ZWIJSEN & WIKI VIOLIN Perform Acoustic Rendition Of HAMMERFALL's "Always Will Be"; Video

Guitarist  Thomas Zwijsen has released the new video below, featuring an acoustic performance of HammerFall's "Always Will Be" on classical fingerstyle guitar and violin by Thomas and Wiki Violin. "Always Will Be" is featured on HammerFall's Renegade album, released in 2000.

In other HammerFall news, the band recently announced they have cancelled their scheduled North American tour. A message follows:

"Some of you have already started to get your refunds, so now it's official: the North American tour that was to take place in September/October is cancelled. That sucks, but with the current global pandemic wreaking havoc on the world we (meaning the local promoters, booking agent and the band) had no choice.

"We are hopeful to be able to rebook the tour for a future time, but since everything is so unstable at the moment the decision was made to scrap it altogether and return to it when things have calmed down. We are as sorry for this as you are, but hope you have understanding for our predicament brought on by the Corona virus.

"Stay safe, stay healthy, stay metal, and take care of each other!"

Rosa Laricchiuta's BLACK ROSE MAZE To Release Debut Album In August; "In The Dark" Music Video Streaming

Black Rose Maze is singer Rosa Laricchiuta’s very own hard rock project, and August 7 will see the release of her self-titled debut. The album is comprised of driving hard rock that backs up Rosa’s unbelievably powerful voice. For your first taste of music, check out first single and video, "In The Dark", below. Stream the single and pre-order/save the album here.

This self-titled debut album is a showcase of Rosa’s own songs, together with a few cuts which were penned for Rosa by the likes of Clif Magness (Steve Perry, Avril Lavigne), Nasson (Chaos Magic, Sinner’s Blood), and Alessandro Del Vecchio (Hardline, Jorn, Revolution Saints etc.). Produced by Alessandro Del Vecchio, this awesome record should not be missed by anyone who has a penchant for melodic hard rock with a contemporary edge.

Says Laricchiuta, “I am honoured to introduce my very first full rock album and cool collaboration with insanely talented musicians, vocalists, and writers from all over the world! I am so excited it’s almost here!”

“It took me some time to write 'In The Dark' simply because it speaks truth about a time in my life where I felt trapped and alone. A time when I broke free from emotional abuse,” she continues about the first single.

Rosa Laricchiuta is a singer, songwriter, and performer from Montreal, Quebec. After several years cutting her teeth with live shows, she auditioned for the third season (2015) of La Voix, Quebec's version of the popular TV show The Voice. Rosa had an instant connection with the legendary francophone rocker Éric Lapointe and chose him as her coach. Rosa showed a solid stage presence, with remarkable intensity and a voice so powerful it sent her straight to the Grand Finale where she shared the stage with Def Leppard, Kelly Clarkson, Jean Leloup, and her idol, Melissa Etheridge. She left a lasting impression as she won over millions of viewers who named her the new "it" female rocker of Quebec.

She then released one album in the Quebec market before beginning work on her first English language album in 2016. That album, Free, was released the following year and at the end of the year, she joined the popular American band Trans-Siberian Orchestra for their annual mega tour of the United States. Rosa was then brought to the attention of Frontiers by none other than fellow Trans-Siberian Orchestra bandmates and now label mates, Dino Jelusick (Animal Drive) and Jeff Scott Soto - who also makes a guest vocal appearance on the album.

Tracklisting:

"In The Dark"
"Laws Of Attraction" (Feat. Jeff Scott Soto)
