DENNER'S INFERNO, the new band featuring legendary KING DIAMOND and MERCYFUL FATE guitar player and composer Michael Denner, will release its debut album, "In Amber", on November 15 through Mighty Music. The official music video for the song "Sometimes" can be seen below.
Denner says: "The song deals in other words with the sentence 'what if' and things from the past that did not happen or worked out the way you hoped they would. The conclusion: why spend time on the 'what ifs' in life when you can go for the reality and facts in the things surrounding you?"
Denner is a very well-known name in the international rock/metal scene, as a former guitarist in the two most influential Danish rock/metal bands ever: MERCYFUL FATE and KING DIAMOND. Denner contributed with his distinctive guitar style and songwriting on classic MERCYFUL FATE albums such as "Melissa" (1983), "Don't Break The Oath" (1984) and also the KING DIAMOND classics "Fatal Portrait" (1986) and "Abigail" (1987).
Now, it's time for Denner to start a new adventure: DENNER'S INFERNO. Joining him are American vocalist Chandler Mogel (OUTLOUD, PUNKY MEADOWS, RADIO EXILE), bassist Flemming Muus (TRICKBACK, JOYTOWN) and a drummer with a common MERCYFUL FATE link, Bjarne T Holm (played in the '90s and also involved in the reunion recently announced). Together, they play heavy metal that should appeal to fans of MERCYFUL FATE, CANDLEMASS and '70s retro rock.
DENNER'S INFERNO released its debut EP, "Fountain Of Grace", on August 24 on vinyl and CD.
The band was born from the ashes of TRICKBACK in 2018 with a new, renewed lineup with '70s prog hard rock meeting doom influences.
Denner comments: "After a lot of thoughts around what to do next, I ended up doing what turned up to be the exact right move towards the music style I really love: '70s-inspired heavy rock. The choice of team for this one came very natural. Bjarne [T Holm, drums] and Flemming [Muus, bass] I've known for decades and exactly what they are capable to do with the rhythm section, and a good vibe to go with it. And by introduction from Mighty Music's Michael H. Andersen, I found the golden voice of Chandler Mogel, a New Yorker with deep roots in the same music style as I love to do."
The musician continues: "This time I chose a selection of songs I wrote with good people during the last few years and a few obscure covers of songs which have made an impact on my taste in music since my journey as a heavy rock guitarist started many years ago now. This album is for the listeners who like their music hard and heavy with strong beautiful vocals and some no-nonsense playing to back it up. Enjoy!"

* Chandler Mogel (OUTLOUD, PUNKY MEADOWS, RADIO EXILE) - Vocals
* Flemming Muus (TRICKBAG, JOYTOWN) - Bass

Earlier in the month, Denner said that he wasn't approached to take part in MERCYFUL FATE's upcoming reunion, explaining that he was only told about it two days before it was made public.

Lord Of The Lost have released the eighth video from the chart-breaking album, Thornstar, for the song “Ruins”. Watch below.
Having shot the video in Guadalajara, Mexico on a day-off on tour, the video takes place in a country that has seen a big part of their Aztec culture disrupted. The local community didn’t let that keep them from striving and growing into something entirely new though, and ultimately became the country they are today. “Ruins” captures this fighting spirit wonderfully, shining a light on seeking grace and good things in the wreckage and that life and beauty can still grow from “Ruins”.
With "Ruins", Lord Of The Lost do not only deliver their - believe it or not - eighth music video for the #6 chart success album Thornstar, they also show how to use day off days on tour in a sensible way. The video for "Ruins" was directed during the Thornstar-Tour on a free day in Guadalajara, Mexico. There couldn't have been a more suitable place than the cradle and legacy of the past high culture of the Aztecs to frame this song.
LINDEMANN, the project featuring vocalist Till Lindemann of German industrial metallers RAMMSTEIN and Swedish producer and multi-instrumentalist Peter Tägtgren (HYPOCRISY, PAIN), has released two versions of its new single, "Ich Weiß Es Nicht". The song is taken LINDEMANN's second album, "F & M", which will arrive on November 22. The follow-up to 2015's "Skills In Pills" was once again produced and mixed by Tägtgren. The regular version of the song and a MINISTRY remix of the track are both available below.
"F & M" track listing:
01. Steh Auf
02. Ich Weiß Es Nicht
03. Allesfresser
04. Blut
05. Knebel
06. Frau & Mann
07. Ach So Gern
08. Schlaf Ein
09. Gummi
10. Platz Eins
11. Wer Weiß Das Schon
Bonus tracks:
12. Mathematik (original version)
13. Ach So Gern (pain version)
In this renewed collaboration, the duo takes some unfamiliar and sometimes unexpected paths.
"Skills In Pills" reached gold status in Germany and was entirely in English. On this second opus, the rules have changed: German lyrics sung by Lindemann's unmistakable voice are set in an intense and unique musical composition.
The starting point of these new LINDEMANN songs was a collaboration between Lindemann and the Hamburg Thalia Theater in the context of a modern adaptation of the Brothers Grimm fairy tale "Hänsel & Gretel", which addresses topics such as fear, hope, poverty, abundance, cannibalism or death.
Five songs from this critically-acclaimed play have been supplemented with six brand new masterpieces to form the impressive new studio work from LINDEMANN.
The first single, "Steh Auf", was released on September 13. The video for this spellbinding song was created by the renowned music video director Zoran Bihać (who worked on previous RAMMSTEIN and LINDEMANN videos). The film was shot in Kazakhstan and one of the main characters is played by a fellow countryman of Tägtgren's, the Hollywood star Peter Stormare ("Fargo").
"F & M" will be released on the following formats:
* Standard edition (6-panel digipack)
* Special edition (deluxe hardcover book)
* 2LP (180-gram black vinyl)
* Digital formats
Last year, Lindemann collaborated with Kurdish German rapper Haftbefehl on a single called "Mathematik". A music video for the song was shot in November at the Berlin nightclub Astra Kulturhaus by Bihać.
RAMMSTEIN is continuing to tour in support of its seventh, untitled album, which came out in May via UME/Spinefarm in Europe and Caroline Records in the U.S.
Southern California band Fake Figures, featuring members of Atreyu, Hotwire, and Scars Of Tomorrow, will release their new EP, We Are the Dead, on November 15 via War Against Records.
The EP will be issued digitally and via splatter vinyl, which is available for pre-order here. Fake Figures has premiered the new song and video for "You're Distant."
"When we were in the conception phase of ideas for this video, we wanted to scale things back and make more of a performance video that used hard lighting that paints two sides of each of us, using angles that are reminiscent of early '80s action movie posters," explains singer Rus Martin. "The short narrative ideas were hashed out between me and the director, Brad Alexander, and we had this really massive idea of capturing someone who is slowly deteriorating and going through this transformation with emphasis on inner voices."
But things came together a bit different than originally planned.
Martin continues, "Ultimately, we decided to keep it simple and focus on something that people might commonly deal with, more than this grandiose visual of changes throughout each scene. What we captured was being alone in a small living space, dealing with your emotions alone, and having these moments that seem like they'll never disappear. The narrative has a scene with the character, played by me, using the sink to throw water on his face, essentially waking himself up from the bigger issues in life."
With We Are the Dead, Fake Figures are confident that they have truly crafted their signature sound.
"I think we captured something here with these songs that we missed the mark on with our past releases," says Martin. "We Are the Dead sounds like what we set out in 2010 to make Fake Figures sound like. Our debut Hail The Sycophants was like us saying, 'Hey, we have some really cool ideas about how we want to do something different with heavier music.' Meanwhile, our sophomore EP, They Must Be Destroyed, was like, 'We want to get really experimental now and try more intricate ideas and see how it sticks with what we're used to doing.'"
"With WATD, the release is like, 'Hey, we got this now,'" Martin furthers. "There's a certain sense of confidence you gain growing as a band when writing stuff and you just learn to trust each other with their special qualities, and we all depend on each other to come to the table with. I think this release tells a story about a band that finally found themselves sonically, but still trying to find themselves in life when it comes to the relationship with the world music provides."
The five-song EP also features an appearance by singer-songwriter Jonah Matranga, who guests on the title track.
Tracklisting:
"Hole In The Sky"
"You're Distant"
"Bury The Hatchet"
"Gone Again"
"We Are The Dead" (feat. Jonah Matranga)

Jan Akkerman will be releasing Close Beauty, his first studio album in eight years and his first on Music Theories Recordings / Mascot Label Group on October 25. Pre-order here, and watch a video for the song "Don Giovanni" below.
At 72 years old, the supremely gifted guitarist is equaled by very few and his legendary ability makes him impossible to pigeon hole. His position as Dutch royalty has been cemented, he received the Golden Harp Award in early 2005, Holland’s most prestigious music prize and in 2012 he was appointed Knight in the Order of Orange-Nassau, a royal honor that acknowledged his contribution to Dutch music and his influence on musicians around the world.
Akkerman was a founding member of Focus from 1969 to 1976 where he recorded a number of breakout albums including, Focus II/Moving Waves (1971). The album spawned the mega-hit "Hocus Pocus" which reached #9 on the US Billboard Chart, #12 in The Netherlands and #20 in the UK singles chart and the song has gone on to appear on numerous TV shows such as; Top Gear, Skins, Supernatural, Vinyl, My Name is Earl and Shameless as well we the 2007 film Hot Fuzz, 2014 remake of Robocop and 2017s Baby Driver. The song has been covered by a number of other artists including Iron Maiden, Marillion, Helloween, Gary Hoey, The Vandals and Vanessa-Mae. Focus 3 (1972) featured another hit single in ‘Sylvia’ which reached #4 in the UK singles chart and led to an appearance on The Old Grey Whistle Test and Top of the Pops.. That year Melody Maker declared him the ‘Best guitarist of the world’, above Eric Clapton and Jimmy Page.
Close Beauty is the return of the distinctive ‘Akkerman-sound’, which runs like a thread through twelve compositions; acoustic, electric, solo performing and accompanied by his own band, Marijn van den Berg (drums), David de Marez Oyens (bass) and Coen Molenaar (keyboards). Molenaar also produced the album, which was recorded at Marten Haak’s Studio.
From the panoramic sound of "Beyond The Horizon", "Tommy’s Anniversary" and "Meanwhile In St. Tropez", the melancholy of "Passagaglia" and "Reunion" to the fun of playing in "Good Body Every Evening" and the sophisticated opening track "Spiritual Privacy", Close Beauty is hard to categorize, in the best Akkerman tradition.
Talking about the new album, Jan says: "I’ve always been able to tell that none of my albums sound the same. Exploring new things is something that I’d always wanted to do. Harmonica player Toots Thielemans once told me: ‘your timing, that’s your signature, your autogram’. I consider Close Beauty exactly like that. If you stand very close to a cow, you can’t tell it’s a cow, after all."
He has collaborated with a number of musicians including Alan Price (The Animals), Jack Bruce and Ice T and counts fans in Brian May who said Akkerman was "totally a hero of mine, there are some people in life that no matter how old you are, you feel nervous if you meet someone, he’s one of those, he’s a real role model”. B.B. King has also talked highly of him saying, "How can you forget a guy like Jan, usually with people that are as great as he is, you know of them, but you don’t always get to know them or their music, but you know their reputation. The nights that we played together was great, I wish I could play the things that he did.” Whilst Yes guitarist Peter Banks has also lauded him calling him "an almost perfectly formed musician, his classical playing was tremendous and his improvising was second to none.”
For generations, he has impressed and inspired large numbers of guitarists with his timing, harmonics, virtuosity and his ability to perform with a wide range of musicians from various musical backgrounds.
Close Beauty can be considered as one of Jan’s most varied works, while this record is his first album in almost 30 years that also gets a vinyl release. The album took well over a year to complete and talking about it Akkerman says, "The title was inspired from a simple notion, that when you are too close to an object you cannot see the real value. The same applies to music.” "My aim is to create beauty in my music,” he continues. "I like diversity and freedom.”

Frontiers Music Srl announces the release of Edge Of Forever's long awaited fourth album, Native Soul on December 6. Today, the band has released a video for the title track, which you can find below. Stream the title track and the previously released single, "Take Your Time"
(a tribute to the late great Marcelo Jacob, lyric video below) and pre-order the album here.
Sporting a dynamic and renewed lineup featuring founding member, producer, singer, and keyboardist Alessandro Del Vecchio, guitarist Aldo Lonobile (Secret Sphere), bass player Nik Mazzucconi (Labyrinth), and drummer Marco Di Salvia (Hardline), Edge Of Forever are back with what is easily their strongest album to date, which heads back to the heavier, but still melodic, sound of their acclaimed debut album.
Originally formed by Del Vecchio in 2002, Edge Of Forever released three very well received albums: Feeding The Fire, produced by Marcel Jacob (Yngwie Malmsteen, Talisman) and Let The Demon Rock 'n' Roll, produced by Bobby Barth (Axe, Blackfoot) - both featuring Bob Harris (Axe, Frank Zappa) on vocals - as well as Another Paradise, which saw Alessandro Del Vecchio take over the lead vocal position and production duties.
Years of artistic collaboration between Alessandro Del Vecchio and Frontiers have led to some simply amazing records and Native Soul is no exception! Anthemic songs, epic choruses, bombastic production, and a deep, strong vocal performance are the foundation of the album.
"I've been eager to reach the sound we have now as a band for years," says Alessandro. "I chased very hard what I envisioned when I wrote these songs, but the final result exceeded my expectations! The band is tighter, tougher, and classier than ever. Honestly, I couldn't be happier and more pumped about it. Edge Of Forever always had those classic rock and neoclassical elements that could remind one of Talisman, Yngwie Malmsteen, and House Of Lords, but this time we wanted to take the strong melodic, hard bluesy edge that bands like Tangier have and blend it all together."
Since Alessandro Del Vecchio teamed up with Frontiers he has since became a reference name in the hard rock world, being the producer, songwriter and musician behind successful albums with the likes of Hardline, Jorn, Revolution Saints, The End Machine, Find Me, First Signal, Harem Scarem, House Of Lords, and many others. Beside being one of the most talented musicians in the scene, Alessandro is also known for his high tenor soulful voice. Aldo Lonobile was the first choice when the band was ready to enter the studio. Loaded with a great attitude and undeniable talents, Aldo's guitar playing fits like a glove for Edge Of Forever. His aggressive rhythm guitars and powerful but soaring guitar solos give new life to the sound of the band. Still forged as a metal/hard rock guitarist, Aldo's guitar work on the album allows the listener to have a new perspective of him as a player, with bluesy solos and melodic phrasings. Nik Mazzucconi is the only member left - with Alessandro - from the last album Another Paradise and his playing pairs perfectly with powerful drummer Marco Di Salvia, already a bandmate of Alessandro in Hardline.
"Aldo and I have been talking for years about doing something together and now that he is also part of the extended Frontiers family, my choice couldn't have been easier. He was #1 on my list 'cause I knew he had the chops and understood the sound I wanted for the record and for the band. He is known to be more of a metal guitarist, but he blew me away in the studio with great melodic solos and you'll hear that bluesy side you wouldn't expect from him. Nik and Marco already played together several times and I always witnessed a great chemistry and they locked perfectly on these songs, giving them a completely live and in-your-face attitude. There are still tons of keyboards and soaring melodies, but this is certainly a riff-based record. We also wanted this album to be different from your ordinary rock record and and give it a different vibe from the start. That's why the first song on the album is the a capella 'Three Rivers', like a warm welcome to "our" own sound and world."
"Native Soul is my very first hard rock release," says guitarist Aldo Lonobile. "I grew up listening to this genre and its legendary guitarists so when my buddy Alessandro invited me to join the band and played me the first few demos I was sure that we were on the way to deliver a gem of an album. I had to change drastically my playing for this record, but at the same time I am sure everyone will enjoy the final result."
Native Soul is a deep and spiritual record. The Native concepts of Life, Faith and Love for Mother Earth come alive in songs like the title-track "Native Soul", "Promised Land", "Carry On", "Wash Your Sins Away" and the a capella intro of the album "Three Rivers", turning them all into anthems about life strength and motivation.
"Native Soul is a very positive record and I want people to listen to these songs with a smile on their faces and enjoy a band pouring blood, sweat, and love into every single note. It's my vision of the world, of life, and faith and gives a strong message of never letting anything stop you," concludes Alessandro.

Miami, FL hard rock band Gears has joined forces with legendary Living Colour vocalist and frontman, Corey Glover, for a modern update to the 1988 hit single, "Cult Of Personality".
"Cult Of Personality" was recorded in Recorded at Wombat Studios in New Jersey and Jettlane Studios in Kentucky, Mixed by Corey Lowery and Mastered by Paul Logus, with the video being filmed and directed by Estil Robinson. Watch below.
"'Cult of Personality' is a song that we always wanted to cover. That groove, that riff, the vocals, lyrical content... Everything about it has always stuck out to us and been a personal favorite. To have the opportunity to not only record a song that is important to us, but to have Corey Glover himself come in and perform on that track, it was truly a special moment. He was so easy and fun to work with and the final product is really something that we are extremely proud of" - Jimmy Wooten
Gears isn’t your average start-up garage band. Despite being confronted with a near disastrous setback at the cusp of their debut, headlining tour, jarring line-up changes, and financial challenges, the band has persevered and rebuilt. Founded in February 2014, Trip 6 (Urban Rebel), Eli Parker (Endo), Tommy Herres (Scarlet Carson) and Jimmy Wooten (Skinmask) were all looking for new projects as their old ones had run their course.
"We all wanted to do something more modern, but still rang true to our influences. Something that we could aggressively market and tour on. So, we all met up in Miami after months of talking about doing something together and what came out was the first EP, Set In Motion."
They released Set in Motion in May 2014, immediately launching into their first headline run with support from I-Exist. Just three days into the tour, their equipment trailer disconnected, resulting in a massive, horrific accident; not only did they lose their gear, but the tour van was totaled and the band members sustained serious injury. In spite of this tremendous blow, the group endured and continued the tour without missing a beat.
Later it developed that two of the founding members were unable to continue, leaving the band reeling and having to replace them with skilled, compatible substitutes:
"I was talking with a mutual friend, Joe Taback (12 Gauge Embrace) about needing a guitar player for Gears because we let go of Eli and he suggested Bobby Thomas. I called him and showed him the songs and he was ready to go. As far as bass, I knew Chris from when Needlemouth was a thing out in Cali and I always liked his playing and he was super laid back & cool. I knew both of these dudes were definite upgrades at their instruments and were a better fit personality wise than what we had to deal with previously."
In June 2015, Wooten and Six teamed with Corey Lowery (Saint Asonia, Stuck Mojo, Stereomud, Dark New Day) and Troy Mclawhorn(Evanescence, Seether, Dark New Day) on their new EP Pride Comes Before the Fall, and announced the addition of new members Bobby Thomas and Chris Dorame. They hit the road for their Riser Tour, once again with I-Exist, in July, wrapping up the run in September, but kept the momentum going with the digital release and lyric video for their debut single off of Pride Comes Before the Fall, “Face Down”. The band rounded out the year with the release of their much anticipated sophomore EP on November 10th, with both headlining tours and a support slot with Trapt slated for 2017.
After a very successful tour in 2017 with Seasons After and Bridge to Grace, Gears has released a new single and video for “KING.” Once again, joined by Corey Lowery in the studio, Gears continues to evolve. Boasting an even heavier sound with groove and aggression, they set out for Headlining Dates as well as Support Slots with Nonpoint, Upon a Burning Body and will round out their 2018 Summer/Fall Tour Dates with the last of 3 legs with All That Remains concluding at the end of September.
After touring much of 2018 with All That Remains, Gears has shifted focus to releasing more music. Their first 2019 offering will be “Tango Yankee", which features Lajon Witherspoon of Sevendust.
Gears is currently in the studio with Corey Lowery working on some more new music and will have upcoming tour dates to announce for 2020 soon.
We're still moving forward and, despite everything that has been an obstacle in the short time we've been a band, everything still keeps growing and getting better.
BLACK STONE CHERRY has released the official music video for its version of Otis Rush's "All Your Love". The song comes from the band's second riotous, rip-roaring tribute to its blues heroes on "Black To Blues Volume 2", which will be released on November 1 via Mascot Records/Mascot Label Group.
Speaking about the track, BLACK STONE CHERRY explains: "John Fred had the absolute honor to meet Mr. Rush when THE KENTUCKY HEADHUNTERS played with him at the Blues Aid festival in Helena, Arkansas. His kindness and larger-than-life personality was encouraging and stuck. When we did the 'Black To Blues Volume 2' album, we had the idea to cover 'All Your Love'. The arrangement is true to the original but with our special BSC touch. I think he would be proud to know his music is still inspiring younger generations. Hope ya'll enjoy!"
The first installment of the series, "Black To Blues", was released in October 2017 and crashed straight into No. 1 in the Billboard Blues chart and reached the top 30 U.K. album chart with a wave of praise from both the press and fans.
Chris Robertson said: "We could have never dreamed of the reaction we got from 'Black To Blues'. It was amazing to have such a positive reaction to our take on some of our biggest influences in music. Now we are back for round two and we have added our great friend Yates Mckendree on organ/keys and he also makes an appearance on guitar! We kept a couple artists in the lineup from last time and introduced a few others into the mix as well! We can't wait for everyone to hear and feel how much fun we had recording this project!"
Since the last blues EP, BLACK STONE CHERRY released its latest studio album "Family Tree" (2018), which reached the Top 10 U.K. album chart (their third in a row) and Billboard Top 10 Hard Rock albums. The band spent the time following that touring Europe extensively, including a 2018 U.K. arena tour with MONSTER TRUCK, a main-stage sub-headline performance at Download festival — under GUNS N' ROSES — plus performances at Graspop Metal Meeting, Rock Am Ring and standout sets this summer at Wacken Open Air, a sold-out Caerphilly Castle (Wales) and an explosive headline slot at Ramblin' Man Fair. They have also criss-crossed their way around the U.S., including shows with GOV'T MULE, TYLER BRYANT & THE SHAKEDOWN, THREE DOORS DOWN and LYNYRD SKYNYRD. In amongst all of this, they still found time to record a hip-shaking new record and once again produced by the band themselves, they recorded it at Monocle Studios in Sulphur Well, Kentucky. The EP kicks off with Robertson introducing McKendree on the organ as they launch into Freddie King's "Big Legged Woman". It's wild, raucous and has their own unmistakeable groove woven through the song as has their unrelenting take on Howlin' Wolf's "Down In The Bottom" — both legends covered on the previous record.
Talking about King and Wolf, guitarist Ben Wells says: "Those are some of our absolute favorites. We always identify with those guys ‘cause they had grooves and riffs like we would put in our tunes. So we are naturally drawn to that."
This is where the link between the blues and BLACK STONE CHERRY weaves in so perfectly; the groove and heart of those early songs embody the essence and beginnings of Kentucky's favorite rockers. "Muddy Waters, Freddie King, Howlin' Wolf, and the like," Wells explains. "We used to listen to that constantly growing up, and still do. It's what we grew up playing and learning together. It's the DNA of what our band is. It's not just us covering songs. It's about doing our own version of each song."
Fans that have seen the band grow over their ascent to arenas will have often seen their love for the blues with songs regularly making into the live set. This time around they bring in Robert Johnson's howling "Me And The Devil Blues", the sultry slow-burning "All Your Love (I Miss Loving)", originally performed by Mississippi legend Otis Rush, and Elmore James classic "Early One Morning", one of the wildest standout songs from the one the links between traditional Delta and Chicago blues.
The album closes with their take on "Death Letter Blues" by Son House, which longtime fans will be familiar with from the band's live set and also featured on 2014 live album "Thank You: Livin' Live Birmingham".
Talking about the reaction of the fans, Wells enthuses: "It's incredible!! The coolest part is hearing young fans say they never listened to these artists until we made them aware of them. That's amazing for us!"
Former Annihilator bassist Russell Bergquist has checked in with the following update:
"Greetings! I present you a lyric video for the final track off The Russ Bergquist Project. I had some visual ideas and brought them to Touch The Sun drummer Rob Wade. He then created this video which I think is pretty cool. Nature images with a positive message. Chill out and watch...."
The complete tracklist of the album is as follows:
"Suicide Shift"
"Lost At Sea"
"Shreddies"
"Hunted"
"Caged"
"Stabbed In The Back"
"Cassini"
"What I Say"
"Who You Are"
Bergquist was with Annihilator from 1999 – 2003 and 2005–2007. He appeared on three albums: Criteria For A Black Widow (1999), Carnival Diablos (2001) and Waking The Fury (2002).
Icelandic wrecking crew, Une Misère, will be unleashing their full length debut, Sermon, unto the world on November 1 via Nuclear Blast Records.
Today, the band releases the music video for their second single, "Failures". It was a family affair as the video was produced by the band with their very own Gunnar Ingi Jones handling the directing. With a special thanks to Kex Hostel and all the kids who helped make this video. Watch the music video below.
Jón Már Ásbjörnsson comments, "'Failures' is about my journey off of drugs. The realization, the sobering up, the withdrawals and the self loathing it brought with it. It's a song of anger and of regret but as it breaks down, it becomes this release that one needs. It keeps me sober. The song goes out to the straight edge kids out there."
Sermon was produced and mixed by Sky van Hoff with mastering completed by Svante Forsbäck. The album was engineered by Marco Bayatl, Sky Van Hoff and Marco Kollenz. The album artwork was created by Niklas Sundin.
The product of a modern age; the sonic nature of Une Misère cannot be easily defined. With an inherently heavy nature, the band sits somewhere on a vast spectrum of blackened hardcore and aggressive metal.
Sermon will be available in the following formats:
Jón Már Ásbjörnsson - Vocals
Finnbogi Örn Einarsson - Guitar and vocals
Fannar Már Oddsson - Guitar and vocals
Gunnar Ingi Jones - Guitar
Benjamín Bent Árnason - Drums
Þorsteinn Gunnar Friðriksson - Bass
Canadian deathcore pioneers, Despised Icon, are back with their sixth full length album, Purgatory, out on November 15 via Nuclear Blast. Today, the band release the second single, "Snake In The Grass". For the music video, the band once again used Jessy Fuchs of Les Films 37 Superkicks.
Vocalist Alex Erian comments, "Stoked to share more new music with you all. Here’s the slammiest track off our new record. Bringing back the pig squeals! 🐷 Purgatoreeeeee is out next month!"
Purgatory was produced by Yannick St-Amand, Eric Jarrin and Alex Erian. The music was recorded by Despised Icon's former guitar player, now current front of house engineer Yannick St-Amand while the vocals were recorded by close friend Antoine Lussier of Ion Dissonance. Mixing and mastering were completed by Cryptopsy's very own Christian Donaldson at The Grid in Montreal. For the album artwork, the band selected Eliran Kantor to create a piece that echoed the themes and concepts of Purgatory.
Without a doubt their most dynamic venture to date, Despised Icon have a fresh and energy filled arrangement just waiting to see the light of day in the form of Purgatory. For many years, they have laid the foundation of Deathcore and spearheaded different sounds and movements within the genre.
Purgatory will be available in the following formats:

Wayward Sons have released their new album, The Truth Ain’t What It Used To Be, via Frontiers Music Srl. Watch a video for the title track below.
The album is available on CD, vinyl and digitally and order links are available here. There is also be a limited orange vinyl available from the band’s store and the label’s US and EU stores, here.
The new album could be called a concept record, as there is a narrative thread that connects the twelve tracks, but singer/guitarist and songwriter Toby Jepson, prefers to call it a 'protest' record and describes the new materials as 'political' but not of the sort that seeks to hammer the message home, more of a reflection of his take on where the world and we are. Jepson admires and draws influence from storytellers like Elvis Costello, David Bowie and Queen - artists who could pass on their message through their storytelling craft.
Wayward Sons is a UK guitar act made up of Toby Jepson (Vocals/Guitar), Sam Wood (Guitar), Nic Wastell (Bass), Dave Kemp (Keys) and Phil Martini (Drums). They have an impressive resume of groups they have previously worked with - Little Angels, Gun, Spear Of Destiny, Treason Kings and Chrome Molly to name a few - which is reassuring in terms of the band as players, but doesn’t really hint at their sound. Wayward Sons sound nothing like the sum of their parts. The music is hard rock, but mixed with a vitality and energy - both musically and lyrically.
Frontman Toby Jepson was, of course, the singer and songwriter in British rock act Little Angels, who enjoyed great success at home and abroad and achieved a UK number one album with their third release Jam.

Cosmic death metal band, Blood Incantation, have joined forces with Century Media Records to release the band’s second studio album, Hidden History Of The Human Race, outside of North America, Mexico and Canada. Dark Descent Records will be handling the American release and the album will be available worldwide on November 22.
Now, Blood Incantation release the first video/single in support of the new opus: “'Inner Paths (To Outer Space)' is a meditative journey through the inner cosmos of the human mind. We improvised this track on psychedelics over a period of several months, allowing it to grow and evolve as it chose. As probably one of the shortest guest appearances in music history, the sole growl towards the end has been performed by Antti Boman of the mighty Demilich! The atmosphere is meant to allow the listener time and space to explore their own thoughts and go on their own journey before the epic brutality of the album returns for the final track.”
The video for "Inner Paths (To Outer Space)" features visuals crafted by Miles Skarin and can be viewed below:
Recorded completely analogue at World Famous Studios in Denver, CO, Hidden History Of The Human Race expands the sonic cosmos explored on Blood Incantation’s critically acclaimed debut Starspawn.
The album will be released as Limited Edition CD Digipak with green logo patch, Gatefold LP with 20 page pamphlet, lyric sheet, CD and poster as well as on all digital platforms. Pre-order here.

Sometimes, fate brings together two supreme talents from polar opposite ends of the globe, who, under normal circumstances without the help of social media, would have possibly never met and combined their musical aspirations for a project that deserves the attention of the masses. That project is Fleshy, which combines the jaw-dropping vocal ability of Australian singer Hellz Bellz, the virtuoso skills of former Megadeth lead guitarist and solo artist Jeff Young, along with bassist Ric Fierabracci and drummer Jeff Tortora. Together they are unleashing the kick-off single "In the Flesh", an energetic blast of hard rock, heavy metal, punk, and pop, the hooks undeniable, the vocals soaring, the guitars blazing, and the grooves irresistible.
Additional new music to follow from this formidable combo, but "In the Flesh" will officially have its world premiere on Music Without Boundaries Internet Radio Show today (October 11th) at 7:11 PM EST at JeffYoungJams.com.
The official music video premiere will be at 10:11 PM EST today via FleshyMusic.com, and the single available for purchase on CD Baby.
Stay tuned for updates. Go to the official Fleshy Facebook page here.
When gnarly punk, pure metal and the swagger of hard rock meet, it can only mean one thing: the unholy rebirth of Helhorse. The Danes love to rock out with riffs heavier than Godzilla's balls. Be part of one of the loudest, dirtiest and also most melodic riff fests of the year.
Helhorse have just released the third single, "War Drums", from their new record, Hydra, out now via Rodeostar Records, distributed by Napalm Records.
Says the band: "The video was filmed and edited by our partner in crime, Andreas Benthien and Jess Bang Hansen. However it is the true genius of Sarah Lee Armstrong that brings this video to life. Our minds are blown by here genius."
Hydra was mixed and mastered by Tue Madsen (Gojira, Messhugah). Staying clear of the modern music worlds compressed and very undynamic master, Hydra aims at giving you that crisp you’ve been missing, and showcasing that quality of spending time on refining the smaller details, to give you a spacious Sound.

Cannabis Corpse’s latest strain of weed-metal is another potent dose of bong ripping brutality laced with tasty riffs, vicious drumming, and dank THC. With a title inspired by Cryptopsy's seminal album, Nug So Vile is a horrifying look into the mind of a hardcore marijuana abuser with the demented fantasies of a reefer addict fully on display. The record is more than just a mere follow up to 2017’s Left Hand Pass, but rather serves as a solid companion piece, seamlessly picking up right where the band left off.
Sharing a passion for marijuana and death metal, brothers Phil “Landphil” Hall and Josh “Hallhammer” Hall formed Cannabis Corpse in 2006 in Richmond, VA as a loving homage to the genre’s forefathers. The brothers decided from the start to separate themselves from the pack by infusing a green sense of humor into their horror-inspired lyrics. Meanwhile, it has become a badge of honor for many of the Halls’ idols to have one of their titles parodied by the Richmond outfit.
Now, Cannabis Corpse has returned as a three-piece and despite slimming the lineup down since Left Hand Pass, Nug So Vile still sounds as full and thick as ever, solidifying their place among death metal’s elite. So, roll a blunt, grab a neckbrace, and get prepare yourself for another nasty assault from the kings of weed metal.
Lineup:
Phil "Landphil" Hall: vocals, bass
Josh "HallHammer" Hall: drums
Adam Gulliams: guitars
German progressive death metal masters, Obscura, have released a video for "Emergent Evolution", a track from the band's fifth studio album, Diluvium, released in 2018 via Relapse Records.
Steffen Kummerer comments: “With the production of 'Emergent Evolution', we just released the, up to this date, most ambitious music video of Obscura. Earlier this year, the entire team flew to Sicily for a week to capture astonishing shots on top of a volcano, in the middle of sulphur springs, within lithified lava streams and inside of natural vaults. We knew this video turns into something unique and special when we sorted the raw material months ago. 'Emergent Evolution' exceeded our expectations by far!”
Diluvium physical packages are available via Relapse.com here, and digital downloads / streaming services here.
