Napalm Records will release Warkings' debut album, Reborn, on November 16th. A video for the first single, "Gladiator", has been released and can be seen below. Pre-order the album here.
"To all of you upstanding followers of the kings of war: Odin’s ambassadors arrived on planet earth to spread the stories of ancient wars and battles!," stated the label. "It’s the Tribune who is the first to raise his voice! He is a noble leader, versatile and determined on his fight for the Roman Empire. An impressive swordsman and his war chants command the Legions on the Battlefield!
The Tribune: "They give us steel…we give’ em blood. Morituri te salutant!!!"
“Gladiator” is a glorious glimpse of what you mortal beings will get, when the debut album Reborn will be released on November 16th. Recorded inside the endless halls of Valhalla, produced by Odin himself and mixed and mastered by our forefathers, who died honorably by the sword, this track will crush you all!
The Warkings story: Four kings of war were knocking on Valhalla’s door to spend eternity in the realms of the gods. While waiting for admission, they told each other about the heroic deeds they survived in their lifetimes. Secretly listening to their stories, Odin decided that all living human beings on the Earth should know about these true stories of war and heroism. So he is about to send them back with the mission to spread the stories of their battles upon mankind. The Warkings were born and pure and unadulterated heavy metal became their religion.
Odin chose Napalm Records as the perfect platform for the Warkings to spread their stories. We were told to receive new information about these warriors every Wednesday from now on. To follow his order to spread their message, we launched the Warkings-Wednesday. On this day, we will bring Odin’s word to the world.
The first statement from the kings of war is short and not very concisely: “Ready your breakfast and eat hearty... because we‘re coming for you at the Warkings-Wednesday."

A true spectacle to be witnessed, Lords Of The Trident is a daring adventure metal quintet that has been delighting their audiences and fans all over the world for ten years. Continuing their epic quest of bringing spectacular and entertaining metal to global fans these power metal warriors unleashed their 7th album Shadows From The Past this past August.
Their latest music video for their track "Zero Hour" is an incredible 360 degree virtual reality adventure and is streaming below.
Vocalist Fang VonWrathenstein comments:
"‘Zero Hour’ is a song about a virtual world that has a deadly time limit. When ‘Zero Hour’ is reached, your body and brain disconnect, and you die. Clearly the only way to truly experience this song is INSIDE virtual reality, so we crafted a 360 degree VR video! Use a VR headset to completely immerse yourself in the video, or pull it up on your phone and physically move around to navigate the 3D world. You can also click and drag the video inside of your browser. Do you dare to watch all the way to the end - to hit ZERO HOUR?"
Shadows From The Past was supported by a Kickstarter campaign that went live on June 1st and ending on June 29th. During that month, the band's fans helped them surpass their goals to raise over $11,000 for the release. The band offered multiple packages and rewards that included merch, lessons from band members, festival tickets, private concerts and a copy of the video game Coffee Crisis that the band has partnered with to feature one of their songs for one of the levels along with band members as NPCs (non-playable characters).
Lords Of The Trident are offering fans a FREE track download of their first single "Death Dealer", a song influenced by the game Diablo and lyrics written based on the storyline of Diablo 1 and 2. Download the song at this location and stream the song below.
Fang VonWrathenstein: “This album is our most ambitious musical work to date, and the first album with our new members Baron Helleshaar and Master Herc. Fans who have been with us for a while will notice that our new songs are a bit more complex, and our songwriting continues to mature. The new songs are definitely still Lords songs, but explore some new musical themes. I believe the new album will be our strongest offering yet, and contain some songs that are sure to be fan favourites going forward.”

Ryan and George at Lost In Vegas, who grabbed BraveWords' attention thanks to Megadeth bassist David Ellefson, have since gained a loyal following of metal and rock fans. In the video below, the dynamic duo dissect "Mirror Mirror" by Blind Guardian.
"Mirror Mirror" originally appeared on Nightfall In Middle Earth, Blind Guardian's sixth full-length studio album. Released in 1998 through Virgin Records, it's a concept album based upon J. R. R. Tolkien's The Silmarillion.
Assembled in 2003 to infiltrate, build and destroy, Gatineau, QC's Insurrection is an aural onslaught assaulting witnesses in both languages of French and English. Known for blending calculated technicality with a signature mixture of merciless death metal, the band has annihilated the masses with four full-lengths, their most recent 2017's Extraction unleashed on Galy Records to follow Prototype (2013), Fracture (2010) and Prologue (2009). Emerging as one of the most prominent metal bands to come out of Eastern Canada, the brutal quintet have a new music video "Assassins", which features live clips from their 2018 festival performance at Montebello RockFest. Insurrection has played on Montebello Rockfest eight times since their first performance on the festival in 2009.
Vocalist Stef Jomphe comments:
"This is something we're really proud to present, as it showcases the band how it should be seen, the way most of our fans have found out about us, in a proper live setting. We hope you enjoy watching it anywhere near as much as we have playing it!”
In additional news, Insurrection's latest album Extraction was recently nominated for Metal Album of The Year at this year's upcoming a GAMIQ Awards (Gala Alternatif de la Musique Indépendante du Québec). The album is a ten track aberration that has shocked and blasted fans to the next life. The album was produced by Pierre Rémillard at Wild Studio (Cryptopsy, Obliveon, Anonymus, Voivod, Krisiun, Ghoulunatics, Despised Icon, Beneath the Massacre, Gorguts, Martyr).
" Freight Train", the new video from New York hardcore veterans MADBALL, can be seen below. The song is taken from the band's latest album, "For The Cause", which was released on June 15 via Nuclear Blast. The follow-up to 2014's "Hardcore Lives" was co-produced by Tim Armstrong (RANCID), who also makes a guest appearance on the song "The Fog". It was mixed and mastered by renowned producer Tue Madsen (MESHUGGAH, THE HAUNTED, SICK OF IT ALL) at Antfarm Studios in Denmark. Former MADBALL guitarist Matt Henderson laid down the guitar tracks in the studio, but is not touring with the group.
MADBALL frontman Freddy Cricien told Grasser Production about "For The Cause": "It's the most diverse record we've done, period. It's one of my personal favorites, but that's me, you know. Everyone's different. Some people are going to say 'Set It Off' was their favorite because that's when they got into our band in that time period, but overall, the feedback has been super-positive from old-school heads and new people, so that's a good thing. But we personally love the record and we needed to start diversifying a little bit. We're known for a certain sound and a certain style and that's great that we're known for a certain style within our scene, but you also have to grow a little bit and I feel like we did a lot of growing on this record. A lot of diverse stuff; it's all MADBALL, but it's different little flavors here and there and I think the record is the most diverse record we've done and we're happy with that and we hope everybody else is happy with that."
Legendary rapper, actor and frontman Ice-T (BODY COUNT) guests on the song "Evil Ways" from "For The Cause".
"I met him in New York and he made an impression on me and I kept him in mind," Freddy told Metal-Heads.de. "I was thinking of a song where I pictured Ice-T on it and I just reached out to him and yeah, he was all about it, because when I met him, he had a lot of respect for MADBALL and New York hardcore. He made it a point to tell me that, and I remembered that and I thought that was very cool of him. Then, when this song popped up, it's called 'Evil Ways', I said, 'Man, that'd be a good song for Ice-T.' It just happened. There was a lot of respect being thrown back and forth."
n October 2017, MADBALL parted ways with longtime guitarist Brian "Mitts" Daniels. The New York outfit called the split "a very hard and heartbreaking decision for all involved."
Freddy told Metal-Heads.de: "Just to clarify, Mitts didn't leave us while we were writing the record. Unfortunately, it was left up to me — I had to let him go during that time because we just came to a point where something had to change. And Mitts is an old friend and I love him dearly and he's still my friend. We're still very dear friends. The reality is, I value the friendship and so, better to end it on a good note than be weird. I mean, Mitts would have stayed in the band no matter what. He loved traveling, he loved playing MADBALL, he loved doing all this. He loves playing his instrument — he's a good guitar player. But the reality is, sometimes relationships come to a point and someone has to say, 'Hey, this is over.' And that someone had to be me because that's where I'm left with that executive decision. But,it was no ill will. There was nothing bad, it's just something we did, then we moved forward and kept writing the record and that's it. The only person that could have played guitar on this record is Matt Henderson and he was very excited."
MADBALL will join SUICIDAL TENDENCIES on the "Still Cyco Punk After All These Tours" later this month.

Austin, TX based rock band Black Heart Saints has released the official music video for the title track off of their 2017 released LP, Alive, which features a live performance of the foursome live.
"This video was shot during our performance opening for Steel Panther in Austin, Texas. It captures some of the intimate moments that you normally don't see: loading in, setting up, etc. – all of the hard work that it takes to bring about a killer rock show.” - Black Heart Saints
The band just finished their most recent tour, The Road to Sturgis Tour 2018, where they performed at the 78th annual Sturgis Motorcycle Rally, as well as opened for Faster Pussycat on August 19th, and will be supporting Slash & Myles Kennedy Featuring the Conspirators on September 24th. Both shows are in Austin, TX.
The soaring vocals of front-man Josh Ross have drawn comparisons to Myles Kennedy and Chris Cornell. While the band is influenced by the likes of Motley Crue, Guns N’ Roses, and other legendary hard rock acts, the commanding presence of Black Heart Saints' live show brandishes an updated take on the genre.
Long running New York death metal legends Internal Bleeding have premiered a new music video for their song "Focus".
“We are not much of a ‘concept video’ band” states founding guitarist Chris Pervelis. “We’d much rather shoot something that gives fans a better understanding of who we are, and how passionate we are about the music write.” This video, shot in three different locations in Long Island, NY by director/producer Sean Ageman of Washed up Media captures Internal Bleeding in all their fury, as they perform “Focus” — a song written about seizing the moment, harnessing your personal strength and never letting anyone or anything get in your way. “'Focus' is about going out there and killing it every single day,” vocalist Joe Marchese said, “It’s about digging deep and finding huge reservoirs of strength you never knew you had.”
“Focus” is from the band’s sixth full-length album, Corrupting Influence, which contains nine songs of the band’s pioneering — and often imitated sound. It will be released worldwide on Unique Leader Records on October 19th. Produced by Internal Bleeding and Joe Cincotta, and recorded at Full Force Studios, Corrupting Influence also features guest backing vocals from original Internal Bleeding frontman Frank Rini, and Jason Netherton from Misery Index.

"Midnight Song", the new video from DREAM CHILD, the band featuring former members of DIO, AC/DC and QUIET RIOT, can be seen below. The song is taken from DREAM CHILD's debut album, "Until Death Do We Meet Again", which is being released today (Friday, September 14) via Frontiers Music Srl.
The "Midnight Song" clip was directed by Jamie Brown, who has previously worked with DOKKEN, LYNCH MOB and KXM.
DREAM CHILD is:
* Craig Goldy (DIO, GIUFFRIA): Guitar
* Wayne Findlay (MSG): Guitar, Keyboards
* Simon Wright (AC/DC, DIO, OPERATION: MINDCRIME): Drums
ommented Goldy: "When Chas West and I wrote 'Midnight Song', I had the music and he and I had the melody lines — but we needed a story line and a title to start the lyrics off with. Then Chas told me about an old term called a 'midnight song.' It's whatever's bugging you and keeping you from sleeping at night. Whatever that is, that's your midnight song! I thought that was a cool premise to write about within the confines of our melody lines.
"I think it turned out rather well. It has a bit of a WHITESNAKE / RAINBOW / DEEP PURPLE kinda thing going on, with a tough yet sleazy sort of feel. I've always liked that sort of song-element combination.
"The video was fun," Goldy added. "Jamie is a great director/videographer. He got a studio where there were individual rooms that had a very authentic look to them — a jail cell, an interrogation room, an apartment, bar, hospital bed and so forth. When he and I were discussing the videos, he'd pick up on things in the lyrics that I didn't think about using as a 'scene,' much like he did for our first video, 'Under The Wire'. There were a lot of great people at this shoot; we had a lot of fun, and Jamie never seemed to run out of creative ideas — especially in the post-production of this video, where his gifts really shine."
"Until Death Do We Meet Again" track listing:
01. Under The Wire
02. You Can't Take Me Down
03. Game Of Shadows
04. It Is What It Is
05. Playin' With Fire
06. Light Of The Dark
07. Midnight Song
08. Until Death Do We Meet Again
09. Washed Upon The Shore
10. In A World So Cold
11. Weird World
12. One Step Beyond The Grave
Goldy stated about DREAM CHILD's formation: "The band DREAM CHILD was conceived during a brainstorming session with Serafino (president of Frontiers) and I one day while discussing other matters.
"I had been listening to my favorite bands a lot recently, DEEP PURPLE and RAINBOW's 'Rising' album, among others in that style, and had noticed that many people who also love those bands often have the very same comments as one another: 'They don't make music like that anymore!' Even though I said that in passing, Serafino asked me a question that would forever shape my future. He simply asked, "Well, can you?" and I said, 'Yes!!!'
"During the very first public memorial for our most beloved Ronnie James Dio, I had mentioned that whenever I do start writing original material again that I would utilize everything that I had learned from working side by side with the Master for so many years in such a way that I would hope to make him proud... and here it is! The name is inspired by one of his lyrics on the 'Dream Evil' album and the nickname he gave me at the time, Dream Child!
"We are so very fortunate to have bassist Rudy Sarzo as a featured guest, Simon Wright on drums, Wayne Findlay on guitars and keyboards, and a surprise vocal discovery from Argentina, Diego Valdez, whose voice will send shivers up your spine!
"This album will bring back memories of the days most people have thought were long gone and never to return, yet it is also new and fresh enough to be unique with some unexpected twists and turns!! No more 'same old, same old' here, no fillers. Every song is an oasis in the desert and a rare gem in the coalmines of life in this new world that thinks the past greatness of rock would remain in the past. We've brought it back to life once again!!
"I am very proud of this album and all who have made this become a reality. There are some big names who've lent a hand in the writing and I am amazed at the new and aggressive sound that producer Alessandro Del Vecchio has brought to these songs! I hope you all agree...."
Winston-Salem, NC-based quartet Stellar Circuits have been churning out massive soundscapes of rock and metal - chock full of the elements of progressive/experimental rock and metal that fans of the genre love with none of the tired fluff in between.
Hair-raising melodies, otherworldly interludes, intricate solos, grooving riffs, soaring, gripping vocals and an overall electric aura define the energy of Stellar Circuits on their upcoming full-length album, Ways We Haunt, out November 9th. Produced by renowned producer Jamie King (Between The Buried And Me, Scale The Summit, The Contortionist), Ways We Haunt scratches all the progressive itches while incorporating elements from the outer-sphere of metal and rock, past and present. The album reflects influence from out-of-the-box artists like A Perfect Circle, Karnivool, Between The Buried And Me, The Contortionist and beyond.
Get your first taste of Ways We Haunt by taking in the mesmerizing video for "Go With Your Ghost", available for streaming below. The video was directed/edited by Erez Bader (Veil of Maya, The Contortionist), with cinematography from Justin Reich (Black Label Society, The Browning).
Pre-orders for Ways We Haunt will be available next week, but you can stream "Go With Your Ghost" now via Spotify. The track was just added to the New Blood playlist!
Bassist Jesse Olsen says "Go With Your Ghost" ended up being different from the tracks on the remainder of Ways We Haunt: "This track went through a lot of transitions. It was one of those songs you're writing that floats there for a while. We'd leave it alone until we could riff something out that better suited the rest of the sections without rushing the natural progression of writing. I think for that very reason it ended up being very unique among the rest of the tracks on the record."
Vocalist Ben Beddick adds about Ways We Haunt as a whole: "The concept behind the record was something that developed as we continued to write songs. I remember being really into the series 'True Detective' at the time. There was an idea surrounding one episode about your mind being like a locked room. The concept was taken further into the idea of our minds being like a house with many rooms. I was really inspired by this and the metaphor of a haunted house. After stepping back from the songs and the sequence it was so clear that there was a theme that progressed throughout. It's similar to the cycle that we go through in our minds when we can't let things go. We can compartmentalize regret and loss as well as our insecurities when we hold onto them. There's a light at the end of the tunnel though - where we can finally come to terms with our lives and who we are, even if it's just for a moment. That's what music and art has always done for me."
Stellar Circuits express that working with acclaimed producer Jamie King on Ways We Haunt was a stress-free experience, allowing them to flourish. Drummer Tyler Menon says about the recording process: "I felt completely at home the entire time we were working with Jamie - he is super easy to work with. He's a wizard behind his rig too. Jamie really helped bring our vision to life and I couldn't be happier with the whole experience of working with him."
Jesse Olsen adds: "This album encompasses a variety of different moods and soundscapes from track to track. We're all constantly experimenting with different sounds and vibes so we never really know where we'll end up at the end of the process."
Stellar Circuits formed in 2015 with the idea of creating progressively-minded music that resonates with the masses. The name "Stellar Circuits" is derived from the eight-circuit model of consciousness, a theory proposed in the 1970's about expanding consciousness and understanding the process of our mind as it pertains to existentialism. Although the music revolves heavily around introspection and self-reflection, this is also coupled with the importance of aesthetics and groove.
Creating music both intellectual and visceral, Stellar Circuits is nothing short of a vehicle - transporting the listener to places both chaotic and cathartic.
Stellar Circuits will perform at their album release show on November 2nd at The RamKat in Winston-Salem, NC. Doors open at 7 PM, show begins at 8 PM, and the show costs $10 at the door. Support will come from Shun The Raven, Raimee, and Norm.

Veteran Bay Area hard rock group NIGHT RANGER has released the official music video for the song "Truth". The track is taken from the band's latest studio album, "Don't Let Up", which was released in March 2017 via Frontiers Music Srl.
"The 'Don't Let Up' album is the result of five musicians living and breathing rock 'n roll 24 hours a day," said NIGHT RANGER bassist and vocalist Jack Blades.
NIGHT RANGER guitarist Brad Gillis added: "As typical for NIGHT RANGER, we have all the elements that made us popular in the first place, including twin-lead-vocal tradeoffs with Jack and Kelly [Keagy, drums/vocals] and dual guitar harmonies and solos with my new partner in crime, Keri Kelli. We've stacked the deck again with uptempo driving rock songs, midtempo tunes and a few acoustic ballad tracks."
As previously reported, NIGHT RANGER will celebrate the 35th anniversaries of its first two studio albums, "Dawn Patrol" and "Midnight Madness", by performing both records in full for the first time during an October 18 concert at the Genesee Theatre in Waukegan, Illinois.
b>"Dawn Patrol", released by MCA Records in November of 1982, included the Top 40 mainstream rock hit singles "Sing Me Away" and "Don't Tell Me You Love Me" and peaked at No. 38 on the Billboard 200 albums chart.
"Midnight Madness", the group's sophomore album (and first to be certified gold and platinum by the RIAA), was issued in October of 1983. The record — which peaked at No. 15 on the Billboard 200 — yielded three additional Top 40 mainstream rock hit singles in "Rumours In The Air", "When You Close Your Eyes" and "(You Can Still) Rock In America". It also included the group's best-known song, the iconic power ballad "Sister Christian", which spent 24 weeks on the Billboard Hot 100 singles chart in 1984, peaking at No. 5.
Three NIGHT RANGER members who performed on those albums — Blades, Gillis and Keagy — are still in the band today. The group's current lineup is rounded out by keyboardist Eric Levi and Kelli (ALICE COOPER, SLASH'S SNAKEPIT, RATT).
"American Made", the new video from TWISTED SISTER singer Dee Snider, can be seen below. The song is taken from Dee's latest solo album, "For The Love Of Metal", which was released on July 27 via Napalm Records. The disc, which was produced by HATEBREED vocalist Jamey Jasta, features contributions from Howard Jones (ex-KILLSWITCH ENGAGE), Mark Morton (LAMB OF GOD), Alissa White-Gluz (ARCH ENEMY), Joel Grind and Nick Bellmore (TOXIC HOLOCAUST), and Charlie Bellmore (KINGDOM OF SORROW).
Snider stated about the song: "I was watching the Olympics and couldn't help but notice that no matter how 'at each other's throats' we all appear to be politically these days, amazingly we are all unified when it comes to our country against another. It made me realize that countries are like dysfunctional families: we may argue and fight amongst each other — you should have seen the extended Snider family Christmas this year; people literally almost came to blows. On Christmas!? — but should someone dare attack any one of us and the entire family will band together against the aggressor. This goes for all countries. This song is a song on unification — recognizing that there is a very important something we all share and should be proud of: where we are from."
"For The Love Of Metal" track listing:
01. Lies Are A Business
02. Tomorrow's No Concern
03. I Am The Hurricane
04. American Made
05. Roll Over You
06. I'm Ready
07. Running Mazes
08. Mask
09. Become The Storm
10. The Hardest Way
11. Dead Hearts (Love Thy Enemy)
12. For The Love Of Metal
peaking to Chris Annunziata of the New Jersey radio station 90.3 WMSC-FM, Snider said about "For The Love Of Metal": "This is a really exciting album I did not expect to make, especially at this point in my life. I was doing Jamey Jasta's podcast, and he challenged me to make a contemporary rock record. And I was, like, 'Who's producing?' He said, 'I am.' And so we went in the studio [with] no record deal, and people started flocking [to appear on the LP]. It just amazed me, the enthusiasm and excitement that these younger musicians — younger than me, at least — had for working with Dee Snider and being a part of this project."
Dee went on to say that "the album turned out phenomenal," so much so that "we had a bidding war from all the major metal labels," he said. "As Jamey would say, it is hard. It harkens back to my earliest work with TWISTED SISTER, but it's very contemporary sounding with my voice. And people are astounded, actually, that I still have a very strong, very powerful, and as Jamey says, an important, iconic rock voice. So I'm very excited about this album."
Jasta previously described the LP as a "full-on metal album," adding that "people are gonna lose their minds when they hear this." He also called Dee "one of the best vocalists of our time" whose "voice is up there with Ozzy [Osbourne], [Ronnie James] Dio, [Bruce] Dickinson and [Rob] Halford to me. "And it's as powerful as ever!" he said.
"Although this album will be very heavy, the songs are anthemic and will fit well in his solo set with 'We're Not Gonna Take It', 'I Wanna Rock', 'Burn In Hell', 'We Are The Ones', 'So What' and others," Jamey promised.
TWISTED SISTER called it quits in 2016 after completing a farewell 40th-anniversary tour.

Live In Atlantic City, the band's brand new live release, pays tribute to and celebrates its legacy with the help of three incredible artists.
In the Decades Rock Arena in Atlantic City, Lynyrd Skynyrd were joined by incredibly talented guest performers to create one uniquely magical night: 3 Doors Down, who rose to international fame with their first single "Kryptonite"; Hank Williams Jr. (yes, the son of the country music singer Hank Williams); and the American singer and songwriter Bo Bice, who was a runner-up to Carrie Underwood in the fourth season of American Idol.
Newly mixed and mastered, Live In Atlantic City celebrates the legend that is Lynyrd Skynyrd in an energetic, 70-minute show. Each guest artist performs with Lynyrd Skynyrd - there of 3 Doors Down's hit "Kryptonite" and Bo Bice's "The Real Thing," the title track to his album. The show peaks with a performance of the Lynyrd Skynyrd originals - "Call Me The Breeze" and of course "Sweet Home Alabama" – performed by Lynyrd Skynyrd together with all of the special guests.

Finnish rockers THE RASMUS have released the official video for their new single, "Holy Grail". The clip was filmed in Tokyo and was directed by Jani Klemola.
Frontman Lauri Ylönen stated about the track: "I wrote this song last spring while we were on a long tour of Russia. During the journey, I thought a lot about loneliness. Sometimes I focus special attention on the fans in the audience standing alone in the back, where lights can't reach, and in some way I see myself in them."
THE RASMUS vocalist called such fans "antiheroes," explaining: "They are not the loud, out-there fans jumping in the front rows but their role in the band's life doesn't go unnoticed.
"When we meet fans after the show, the mysterious figures at the back rows often turn out to be the most devoted fans — shy and quiet. It's very hard to find the words when you finally get the opportunity to say something. The song is dedicated to all these antiheroes."
b>"Holy Grail" marks the first new music from THE RASMUS since the release of the band's ninth studio album, "Dark Matters", which came out last October via Playground Music Scandinavia. The disc was produced by the Swedish team The Family (Iggy Azalea, FIFTH HARMONY).
In 2012, after releasing three more albums, and multiple world tours, THE RASMUS members Ylönen, Pauli Rantasalmi, Eero Heinonen and Aki Hakala, took a break from their busy band schedule. During this period, Ylönen moved to Los Angeles, a change that resonates in many of the songs he has written since.
The official visualizer video for the song "Dead Behind The Eyes" from SOULFLY can be seen below. The track features guest vocals from LAMB OF GOD singer Randy Blythe, with lyrics inspired by Cenobites, the extra-dimensional beings who appear in the works of Clive Barker, including the novella "The Hellbound Heart" as well as its semi-sequel "The Scarlet Gospels" and the ten "Hellraiser" films.
In an interview with Sweden's RockSverige, Max Cavalera stated about Blythe's involvement with "Dead Behind The Eyes": "It was really cool. [Randy is] really tight with [producer] Josh [Wilbur] and Josh has done all the LAMB OF GOD stuff, and he was working on the BURN THE PRIEST record, so I just told Josh to give him the tracks and, 'Show them to him, and if there's anything he likes, if he wants to sing on it, it's all cool.' I didn't have a song for him, so he showed him everything and what Josh told me was that they were listening to it, and the minute that song came on, it was nicknamed 'Bruiser Brothers', and the minute he heard it, it was, like, 'That's it! This is the one! I don't wanna hear anything else.' I had already written the lyrics, so I sent him all my lyrics and it was just good to have the Randy voice on it. He's got a real distinctive voice, really unique and that's what I like about guys like him. It's very original and you know it's him.
"That song, the vocal pattern is really based on [SEPULTURA's 1987 album] 'Schizophrenia' and 'From The Past Comes The Storm'. It's totally influenced by that. When I worked on the song, I worked with my son Zyon and he was listening to 'Beneath The Remains' and asking me about songs like 'Stronger Than Hate' and all those parts and mesmerized by it, and I was, like, 'You know what? Let's challenge this! Let's make a song like that!' So I started working with him and added all those parts and it has one of my favorite guitar solos of Marc Rizzo. I gave him a whole section. It was crafted like 'Ride The Lightning' era. You've got this solid rhythm behind the leads, which not many people do. It can be kind of a headache to put it together and it might take a little time, but I think the final result is fucking awesome."
Max went on to say that he is hoping to make a video for "Dead Behind The Eyes", "especially if we can get Randy in it too, and we'd have all of us dress up as 'Hellraiser' characters from the movie. I think that would be fucking fantastic."
b>"Ritual" will be released on October 19 via Nuclear Blast Entertainment. The follow-up to 2015's "Archangel" was produced, recorded and mixed by Josh Wilbur (KILLER BE KILLED, LAMB OF GOD, GOJIRA). Cover artwork was painted by artist Eliran Kantor (TESTAMENT, ICED EARTH, SODOM). Additional booklet art was handled by Marcelo Vasco (SLAYER, HATEBREED, KREATOR), who also handled the package design. The album features multiple guests, including Blythe and Ross Dolan (IMMOLATION).
"Run For Your Life", the new video from IMPELLITTERI, can be seen below. The song is taken from the band's upcoming studio album, "The Nature Of The Beast", which will be released on October 12 via Frontiers Music Srl.
30 years into their musical career, IMPELLITTERI have created a mind-blowing, highly energetic and thrilling new musical adventure with "The Nature Of The Beast". The band is on fire with their musical acrobatics, addictive riffs, shredding guitar solos, speed metal drumming, and screaming power metal vocals that are all ingredients in these killer songs!
Like many of their talented peers, IMPELLITTERI continue to carry the torch for guitar driven heavy metal. On "The Nature Of The Beast", the band shines throughout, especially on songs like the power metal driven "Run For Your Life", the highly energetic remake of BLACK SABBATH's "Symptom Of The Universe", the lunacy of "Gates Of Hell", the addictive riff of "Hypocrisy", and the speed metal cover of "Phantom Of The Opera".
"The new music was written with passion and a sincere love for heavy metal," tells Chris Impellitteri. "I think as a band we grow stronger with each new album. Our artistic abilities seem to get better with age, but at the same time we seem to sound even more energetic, crazy, and youthful with this release. You could say the music on this newest musical child is an extension of our previous record, 'Venom'. I love the 'Venom' record, but I am currently obsessed by 'The Nature Of The Beast'. We are thrilled to share this new music with our FANS and friends around the world and I really hope they like it!"
b>IMPELLITTERI recorded "The Nature Of The Beast" in Los Angeles, California with legendary engineer/producer Mike Plotnikoff (VAN HALEN, AEROSMITH, IN FLAMES), mix engineer Greg Reely (OVERKILL, FEAR FACTORY), and engineers Jun Murakawa and Sean Shannon.
Like their childhood musical heroes, including Vivaldi, IRON MAIDEN, QUEEN, BLACK SABBATH, Al DiMeola, Paco de Lucia, John McLaughlin and Pavarotti, IMPELLITTERI strive for greatness — creating, performing and recording this new music with all four band members, Chris Impellitteri (guitars), Rob Rock (vocals), James Pulli (bass), and Jon Dette (drums) contributing stellar performances. The album was recorded in a grand fashion using large tracking rooms and vintage analog equipment to capture the bands live musical energy and performance.
"As a guitarist, I challenge myself to conquer my human limitations," continues Chris. "I practice for hours each day to improve my technique. I also spend a lot of time customizing my guitars, amps, and pedals to achieve this crazy guitar sound. On this new record my guitar sound is really me trying to create a tone that sounds a bit like a chainsaw blended with a beautiful Stradivarius violin. It is Beauty and the Beast with lots of pick attack! The guitar solos have lots of technical shredding elements, but at the same time they are very melodic and I think fun for everyone to listen too. The riffs are also exciting for me to play as there is a lot of obvious influences that I brought to this new record."
The band will head out in support of the album, with dates to be announced in the coming months.
